mr 8
grem MR 8?
I can't imagine an mr8 word.
me either
better just use morewords
I never heard of it either
you betcha!
I believe it's an Indian musical instrument
an ancient drum of India shaped like a long conical barrel with two tuned heads of different sizes.
As in "Om" as opposed to First Nations
very fraudulent it will not accept wanking
and 19 K words!!! Sprite might faint.
goodness, Grem. How did you find that???!!!
I went to morewords and put in "mr*"
That actually makes me feel better, because I couldn't figure out for the life of me what that m was...
pug, that happened the other day too >-[
ijust used morewords for that MR and cant find it
I went to IMDB and got "They Call me Mr Tibbs!" but it didn't help....
was sw8 called?
de 7 if not called
apparently the mr8 can be extended by an M as well as pluralized
don't know, flosey
Grem did you get fireworks?

Satan is in the grid, but isn't a word.
firk
but most extensions (satanic, satanism, satanist) are
I think we discussed why, a few weeks ago
And the summary of the discussion is...?
only "Satan" remains a proper noun
175 lft i am out poof
bye mlf
171 left for me...off to bed...have to wake hubby up and drag him off down the hall too....Night all. (hugs)
night barb
hi and nbt
hi and wtg josh
So Satan is an odd proper noun in that the extensions are not proper nouns as well. Isn't Mormonism a proper noun?
Neither Mormon nor Mormonism are allowed in morewords
yeah, both of those are proper
I suppose Satan is considered an abstract proper noun, whereas Mormon (?) is a concrete proper noun, and thus the extensions are proper as well. Yes?
I think it's more like "satanic" etc. had enough historical usage to become generic.
All of this is my speculation (haven't researched it at all).
26 7-letter words? I bet they're mostly Ks.
mostly gerunds
Has anyone heard from NB? Wonder how things are goiung.
who's that?
Nancy Boy - he's having boyfriend trouble, and was going to talk to the bf about it.
someone not on as the same time as me, sorry
I guess not - he's in England, but sometimes I've seen him here, very early morning for him.
Christine, NB was here this afternoon. He hasn't been able to sleep for 3 days, poor kid.
So it's about 7:11 am there now and I hope he's had a good night.
He is looking for another place to live.
Hi, Jillibus. Were you here on Sunday, he was telling us he was going to speak to Leo, and felt a little fragile around the edges, I guess.
That's a shame, since he doesn't have the support of his family. But it may be for the best.
Christine, he disappeared for a couple of days and had Leo and his friends very worried. He passed out at work and they contacted Leo so that's where he is, but feels utterly betrayd.
My mum used to say if you're a Mother, you're everyone's Mother; I guess that's why we all feel protective.
Poor kid. I hope he'll be okay. This has been an eventful year, so far.
He is very grateful for the support he's had here.
Sending him good thoughts.
I think he will have good support from his friends over there too.
well, once through Lickety's list and I have 109 left. I have a feeling morewords will be necessary for this one.
lol jilli, exactly where I am!
the gerund is sure coming in handy tonight
hi everyone

morning sprite. I have 17 of them so far!
LOL morning spriety sprite!
Katie you rock!
Hi FM
Morning Katie and ruby
hiya FM :)
hi fmitch and sprite
hi Andree!
Evening Andree!
I know this is petty and doesn't really matter but I can't understand why my ranking hasn't changed in weeks. I missed finishing one grid only in months.
oh I have no idea as I never look at them, but I don't think it's petty. Why don't you email doctor god?
The rankings are a law unto themselves anike and are affected by how many people play and do finish or not as the case may be. I gave up trying to fathom them ages ago.
wanna share good news: A. Terra went for his annual shots yesterday and vet was totally positive about him, called him examplary dog in build, weight and conduct. B. Our car made it through the annual process for re-approvement (which we did not expect) and at a reasonable price too.
Good news on both counts sprite!
no idea how the rankings work
good news on both fronts sprite
If I email Dr God the answer will come back via my email and then my daughter will laugh at me for being so attached to a game
great ne** on both counts (we will tempory suspend PB on the basis I would be the only oneleft)
tell your daughter it is your mathematical mind that is uncontrollably curious as to how things work
*heads off to the PB in good company*
i don't look at the ranking, so no worries here
shrug and say "and" it seems to work for teenagers
thanks :) So happy to be able to share good news!
Good answer Sprite but it won't work. Anyway, I had better go looking for son's birthday present so will say goodbye for todat. Happy babbling
bye anike
bye anike

7 Ks and baffled. My mind isn't mathematical but definitely K-phobical.
bbs
Bye anike was just changing my icon.
wow beautiful rose, FM!
Thanks, unfortunately the camera doesn't do it justice as it is blood red in colour.
will add the color to it in mind
:)
10 Ks. I bet there are biggie Ks today.
3 6's and a 7
thanks FM, that will help me on my way. Oh wow I do have one 6!
yay :) at least once you have the k's done you can enjoy the rest of the grid.
exactly, that is why I do them first. I hate having to find them at the end :)
lol I know your *love* of k's well after all these years.
hehehe I bet!
oh my, just realised it will be 5 years of babbling this August - not sure if that is good or bad!
I'd say good, but I am pretty biased. Look at it this way: you keep your brain trained, you learn new words, and you stay in contact with a bunch of nice people.
*grin* that works for me.
:)
sprite - keep an eye out for an email I have just sent you.
K greyed out! I AM getting better at this. With a bit of help from my babble friend FM :)
and now I must be off, have some work to do before I take Mum out to an art exhibition. Happy babbling and see you later.
hope you have a lovely day, FM, and your Mum too
have a good day FM :-)
oohhhh! Never ever thought I'd see that M word in a grid and here it is! Ata! I am smug!
you were already great at this, sprite, how much better can you get?
I fully stink at Ks, rubyfoo. My brain shuts down as soon as it tries to spot K words.
as usual, first 50 are easy! now the slog begins
there is a very rewarding ending in the grid, rubyfoo!
isn't ka/4 the dutch word for cheese?
yes it is! Always makes me laugh to see it in an english grid.
19 k words!
morning all
hello kallia
hi Kallia, I know!
well first 8 not so bad
hello ruby
see you all a little later!
bye for now ruby
rubyfoo, I found it in the urban dictionary, where it means, next to the dutch meaning, something like very bad, smelly.
and bye
i'm off to do some work as well, see you all later
bye Katie
Haz are you out there?
thanks for the dutch cheese
yvw butterfly
new at this, day two at babble
welcome to the game then! Hope you are enjoying yourself.
oh you will soon be hooked then butterfly :)
it's addictive butterfly
like it very much, still on the trial mode.
hello all from a very football occupied SA
I feel a new addict coming up... ;)
hey ursh! It is already bad here in the netherlands, cannot imagine the madness you must have over there. All well?
Where is Haz when I need to check a grammatical point?
Flipping football is on al lthe channels all of the time here!
actually been quite nice so far - very festive
grin.... I bet she is either walking her dog or ironing her laundry
am glad, ursh!
but cant say I like the vuvuzelas - horrible noise and my youngest cat hates the noise - just runs and hides
yes she could be out walking as it is only 2 days before she does her charity walk.
FM, I know! And worst of all is the continually horn sound. Drives me crazy. I stopped watching (only watch the Orange team and countries like Ghana - for the legs).
You called?
yeah!
agree re the vuvuzelas ursh
Ah there you are dear :)
right with you on that, ursh
Hello! Not walking just yet, I'll be out this afternoon for a last practice session.
Haz, if you have time, please check this link: http://tinyurl.com/yq26pr It is a LOLcat I found especially for you.
I have to send an emal out re a funeral and am not sure where the ' goes in the deceased name. If it his funeral does it go at the end of his surname e.g Smiths'' funeral or Smith's
Smith's funeral.
Hello, sprite. I caught your reference to your grammatical cat yesterday and looked it up. I wouldn't DREAM of ever correcting that cat's spelling or grammar. Talk about fierce!
sakin
unless his name is Smiths, right?
Ah good thats what I thought but wanted to make sure I was right. Thank you and now I must poof till later.
No problem, FM.
bye for now, FM
ignore that, it was a word i was trying to guess but put it here instead of where you put the words
I do that all the time
just make sure it's one I haven't got next time :)
it didn't exest
I know
i mean exist, sorry, typing and talking at the same time.
but I usually put real words here when I do it!
butterfly, don't feel bad, it is the layout of the site that makes people do that. Happens to a lot of us.
hi everyone, Sprite
glad you saw it, Haz! I thought you and the cat would get along :)
Hello, sandy.
hi sandy, lol... am I not part of everyone? *hugs*
haz
Absolutely, sprite.
lol
reminds me of how we used to greet the teachers in the teacher's room while I was at highschool. "Good morning, ladies, gentlemen, Mr Alimahomed!" He was actually flattered, the stupid geek.
heheh
he was by far the worst teacher Dutch I ever encountered. He switched the articles and told us there was only ONE preposition that could go with the word balkon (balcony). And he took off points if we did it the right way and not his way.
No wonder you didn't include him in the general greeting.
I couldn't stand him. Not for his making mistakes, but for his dictatorial attitude and not being able to 'fess up he had been wrong. One of the very very few teachers in my life I did not get along with.
It sounds like he had decided that there was a limit to learning and his had been used up a while back.
sounds about right, Haz
I love that f6/39
hm don't have it yet *off to hunt it* I love the M word.
I don't have that
it is one of the weirdest words I know, Kallia. A friend of mine plays them, or I would never have known.
I cant see a word from that m lol
if you want, I can tell you the second letter.
I guess it is not o then
your guess is correct
lol nope dont tell yet maybe later thanks
oh... *off to PB*
np Kallia, I know how nice it is to hunt on your own!
you or me?
me! wa4 is in the grid
I see it is you lol
back later, have to go see the dreaded dentist
oh dear. Good luck, will think of you!
Not R*** C**** treatment?
I'll not spell it out, for the sake of the dental phobic.
thanks...no I don't think so...just hate the dentist
I was actually trying to see which words in the grid you referred to :)
Hope it goes well, Kalia.
lol..thanks
No, just the thought of that treatment gives me the shivers.
ouch...whenever I think of the dentist, I always think of that scene in the little shop of horrors.
ohhhhhh Nancy Boy, don't even say that! And hi and *hugs*
It's probably just as well that I've never seen the little shop of horrors. I've heard that Marathon Man is to be avoided as well.
too late now Sprite, I'm humming the song and everything ;) *hugs* how are you?
little shop of horrors is very funny, except for the dentist part.
I actually like my dentist - he's a tennis fan so he has his good points.
"Feeeeeed meeeee!"
I'll take a quick break, back later. Bye for now!
am well, dog is good and car is good, so good news and feeling happy. How are you holding up?
"You'll be a dentist, you have a talent for causing things pain; so be a dentist, people will pay you to be inhumane.."
I would like my dentist very much if he weren't my dentist. He is a great guy. Just wrong occupation.
go nancy Boy!!!!!
bye for now, haz
off and on at the moment, Sprite. Just trying to sort out a place to go!
it would be very nice if you could have your own place and be independant. Will keep my fingers crossed for you, dearheart.
thanks, Sprite :) and yeah, that'd be lovely, but it's pretty much impossible in London! Oh, something that cheered me up though...I suddenly recalled that he has my name tattooed on his chest. Hope he finds that fun, over the years *snorts*
he will keep you close to his heart, willynilly :D
quite ;) oh, what a mess. I should get up...
get up, take a shower and know that a lot of babblers are thinking of you. We are the wind under your wings :)
that's so sweet of you, Sprite :) will do. have a good day!
and you too!
Hi, NB - we were asking after you, couple of hours ago. I hope everything is well? Have you & Leo worked out the problem?
I know its a long shot...but a question for NB, do you know of a person called Frazz from another forum? Its just that you remind me of someone that occasionally posts in an Aussie forum.
hi Christine and dizgrannie
hey ya sprite
Hello, Luv/
how are you both?
I think I hear my bed calling - up early, tomorrow, for another colonoscopy - I guess the dodctor thinks I'm ver photogenic.
well, that should be doctor.
whoa Christine, that is pretty intensive. I hope you will sleep well and that it will be relatively smooth tomorrow!
Last time, about 6 months ago, I was asleep for the proceduce, but I think I'd like to be awake, this time, watch it on the bigscreen.
I wish you the best of luck.
Gremlins can't spell, but I think you afigured-out that word?
I'm not worried - if they find anything they'll snip it out - unless it's a biggie, and then i guess I'd go into the hospital overnight.
Thank you for your good wishes.
glad you are not worried. Will think of you :)
I just want it over, so I can eat - nothing for 24 hours. And I need a cup of tea, it's been too long.
24 hours is a long time
And the stuff they give you to drink, to 'clean out' your innards, well I can do without that for another year.
oh I bet, blech. May this be the last examination of your innards then!
Thanks again.
Goodnight, all.
night Christine
hello
hi lady!
did you get my ecard?
No :(
looking again
perhaps in the spam folder?
Got it
silly emails
yessss :)
THank you
I got 89 in Probate and Admin so happy and a 70 in Civil
you're very welcome hun :D
wow! You did SO well!
The Probate means I got nearly perfect in the last 2 tests
woot, that is something. Are you proud of yourself?
I am
Thinking maybe the boring stuff may be what I am good at
rightly so. *hugs*
lol, you are good at studying.
I don't like math
no need to be good at everything, sweetie. Nobody is. You totally rock. And as I said, you inspire me. Am going to study too, for Tellington TTouch practitioner. Don't know yet how to swing it, but I will find a way.
O go Sprite
You could practice on Terra
I will. Actually, the first workshop is Balance4Dogs, and that is with your dog. I have put myself and Terra up for that one, in September.
Cool
this lady also gives basic and experienced course, and she says i can skip a couple of weekends of the real course if I finish hers with good result.
and that is fireflies. I loved this grid (except for the K)
anything I can clue before I go?
I am ok thanks
have fun then and enjoy this great grid. Big *hug* from me and a load of energy too. Bye all!
Have fun
morning all
Hi Fish
***Like a hunter in the Serengeti, Lori blends in to the stifling environment with the pre-loaded, water filled elephant gun at the ready and waits silently.....***
LIke the hunted in the Serengeti, wise babblers seek cover....
good morning Babblers
***It's hard to wait silently when all these great people start saying G'd morning....***
Good morning, Nono. Like the ostrich, I'm sticking my head in the sand and cannot see the water coming. Therefore, it is not coming.
Hi
Hello!
we know you can never stay in stealth mode for long lori :)
Between him and the cat I am going mad
I'll play meerkat and pop my head up to say hello before ducking back down
***The insulated camouflage suit whilst in the serengeti was a bad idea***
Those insulated suits are hopeless. You can hear the motor working inside them.
Hello, lynxxx. Meerkats never stay hidden for long.
hi lynxxx
***Come out come out wherever you are.....***
...come and find meeee....
Lynxx cold enough for you?
She's very elusive prey. Guess I'm not much of a hunter. G'd mornin' Babblers!
quite cosy actually, must be the dressing gown over my clothes!
Good morning, Lori. FM has headed off to an art exhibition with her Mum. She's outwitted you.
Seriously now, what are we in for with this grid? Today's babble approach is least words to most, thus beginning with the absurd mr 8.
Ahh, how long were you going to leave me sweating in that suit?
Well, let's just say that gremlinn said that it was (spit, because I hate the overuse of the word) challenging.
Methinks that's an understatement.....
and how long did it take Gremlinn to finish
3 minutes.
(Joking)
lol
I'm not sure how long it took him, at what point he achieved minnbt, nbt, nbs, or whether it was done with af or to.
Well, ENBT is gonna' take awhile by the looks of this configuration.
E.... no blank tiles. Excellent, no blank tiles?
Oooh, nice usage of multiple acronyms. WD!
TY!
Eventually ......
YW !
Oh, eventually NBT - does give the impression of a leisurely approach.
Is leisurely allowed?
It's the opposite of RNBT.
Depends on who you ask I should think. R = Rapidly?
Rigidly ?
Yes, Rapid No Blank Tiles or for the competitive, Racing No Blank Tiles.
I'm more of the "Eventually" type.
I'm HENTIRNBT.
Yowsa! That one's not in my ATG (Acronym Translation Guide)...
Haven't Even Noticed That I've Reached No Blank Tiles.
good one Haz
l o l o l
That'll cause a few heads to be scratched.
NBT requires too much discipline for me
hello again ,everybody, did n't even reach nbt this am, and only 65 words!
HI ruby
Hello, ruby.
hi Ruby
hi Ruby
hi lynx and haz
Morning ruby
discipline, what's that?
hi lori
hello hello no no!!!
hello back from the dentist
very nice lunch out in the local Sicilian!
Hello, Kalia. All well?
no :(
Were is Mrs FM
What's wrong?
hi Kallia. oh dear
had one filling, but she is going to make an appointment with the dental consultant at the hospital
oh, kallia, have a grappa, it puts an end to most woes!
Morning Kallia
She claims she's gone to an art exhibition with her mother.
I may have to have several extractions
Oh dear, wheeling in the big guns. That sounds worrying.
Could be a hoax on her part, FM's cagey.
oh well that'll take months to get sorted
oh, poor kallia!!!!!
Thanks Haz
Frankly, in the light of your revelations yesterday, Lori, I think she's probably visiting the chiropodist.
Kallia ouchies :(
:(
Wisdom teeth?
I couldn't keep her secret any longer Haz, I thought it might take some pressure off her.
You're a good friend - sometimes secrets need to be shared.
yep..does that mean I shall be wisdomless as well as toothless?
but on a brighter note I have just had a huge parcel of beautiful threads delivered
Not at all, Kallia. I have only one tiny wisdom tooth and look how wise I am. (Looking around other babblers for confirmation)
v nice, kallia!
oh well lthat's ok then Haz
yes, yes, very wise woman
Threads. To be put through needles and sewn with? I feel slightly faint.
< nods head. Yep lots of wisdom there
yes that type of threads
I hope it means wonderful clothes, all made!
Listen to lynxxx. She may disguise herself as a meerkat, but she knows what she's talking about.
sewing for fun, not dressmaking or curtains or any of that boring stuff
no ruby
Wise, yes, yes that's what I was going to say. yah, yah that was it.
embroidery Kallia?
Embroidery or fancy sewing, then?
eyes are gone, can't even thread a needle any more
ok Lori what did she threaten you with?
some embroidery, but fabric art using my machine mostly
Sewing for fun. That's as unlikely a sentence for me as Housekeeping is wonderful for Lori.
oooohhh lovely!!
I love to embroider, but not anything special at it!
believe it or not that is exazctly what I said about 18 months ago...now it is my 2nd addiction
Haz knows. Those two things just don't jive.
FM's into embroidery as well, kind of free range with her machine.
Can you babble and sew at the same time, Kallia?
!yep, I didn't know that FM was into it though.
Do you know the work of Annameika Mehan? beautiful art!
not yep to the babble and swq lol
Indeed she is. I think she does some hand stuff as well. Or is she using the toes for sewing as well?
no, but I will google her, there are lots of very talented fabric artists out there
sorry not Mahan but Mein
Her Pedantics are legendary!
FM that is. ***sigh***
hehehehe
yep I knw
anyone got that strange m?
The legendary mr8?
not I
Sprite gave me a clue without meaning to this morning
yep that's the one Haz...might have known you'd have it !
God, to clue that without spelling it out requires interpretive dance. To a drum ebat perhaps.....
Drum beat and Greek tunics....
well I'm sure Haz can clue it
heh, tunics enhance the experience.
I looked it up in the scrabble dictionary! too obscure for anybody
or an Australian animal
mr, plus two letters to say who you are, first three letters of celestial creatures (think Brad Pitt's girlfriend), wrap up with a vowel.
mr + the self + ahh shucks! + vowel
I got it
nice clues!
see told you Haz could do it.
I wonder how many variations there will be before the end of the day.
and Lori
Thanks Haz and Lori
The mutations will be impressive I'm sure.
You're welcome. Looking to see if we can get any backwards clues in. A clue is always enhanced when backward features somewhere.
d
Well look at that. m plus the lowest point backwards, finish with a vowel.
Told you it could be backwarded.
seems I have nothing intelligent to say sorry about that
Sorry! Forget that, we've left out a consonant.
there is always the volcano
gulp...you missed a letter!
If only it were the legendary de 6.....
O for gawd sake I missed that again
m plus lowest point backwards, finish with abbreviation for Atlanta's state.
It's not really a true grid without the volcano.
well it is here yet again
There. mr8 holds no fears.
usually I miss it
Nicely played Haz.
how is it pronounced Haz (the mr
sigh how do I always miss the obvious
Good grief. I labour long and hard to produce a backwards clue and Kallia wants to know how it's pronounced?
I don't get paid for this, you know.
of course....just in case I need to use it later
yeah you do...we say nice things about you...well mostly
I imagine, that you kind of run the m and the r together. Kind of shortened meringue sound.
OK, I go the mr8 {weird) 8, but is there another?
You want more than one weird mr8, ruby? There's just that one.
1 is plenty....
is there a shorter mr?
There's only one m word.
only the one m
well, this is a more fun grid than the last 2 anyway
hi Kap
fun AND funny! hello kaplan!
Hello, Kaplan, it's more time-consuming, that's for sure.
Hi Kaplan
any clue for the lonely o for nbt?
G'd morning Kaplan
hi Kaplan
Think piggy noises, ruby.
pigs Ruby
ty haz and lynxx!
Well, bacon references should draw crossy out.

Bye Haz
I've got lost of snails to donate to the cause ruby.
lots, not lost
poor lost snails...
are they edible ones?
Better snails than souls.
drooling around, leaving goopy trails.....
Leave beer out and that will make them drunk and the wildlife happy. Hi Crossie
no-but they eat much more than their body weight in perennials every day.
sounds like you're having the same weather we are.
howdy hern
crossy still cannot focus
have to remember to buy a bottle of beer today.
but they are very pretty and I don't mind sharing. Slugs, on the other hand, are disgusting!
wonder if deer and woodchuck like beer too? Last summer a slug fell into my sandals, between my toed and squoshed. That was truly lovely
How many words today?
salt is very good for slugs, a good sprinkle and they are cactus!
243 Godthaab
Thank you.
G'd morning godhab. 243 words
any clues for the in8/9 combo?
The meerkat is a fast typer

Holy guacamole, 19 K words? Get outta' town.....
copyright word? I'm becoming a meerkat or maybe a slug! eew
wife likes watching meerkat manor on the tv
they show the meerkat program on Fr tv, but the commentary is obnoxious!
love meerkats. And they probably could type if the laptop were hung around their necks on a strap.
thing on your forehead Ruby
Lynx, all that preparation wasted because FM's Mother AND an Art Show are more important. Some peoples values are skewed.

Good Morning All - wow - big grid today finally
ooh, thank you thank you, much better than "stupid"
hi Rivermom
G'd Mornign River
hello dancer!
hi Rver
how is keith doing?
he is doing good - went back to school yesterday and went to watch his baseball game to cheer his team on - cant play unfortunately - we still wait to hear from the hospital on when they can do the procedure
last day of school today so he can take it easy
what is wrong River?
he sounds well-balanced, like his mom!
he had a cardiac event Saturday - heart rate went over 300 - we spent Sat - Mon in the ICU
they need to do a catheterization - waiting to hear when that will be scheduled - he has to take cardiac meds now to keep his rate steady and absolutely no physical activity - tough for my boy who is an athlete
I saw that in the log, but missed the final diagnosis. I can 't imagine how you all must have felt
ding
whoops
sorry, who'll join me in the PB?
Will he be OK to take up his normal activities after it is done?
wide complex tachycardia with SVT
who rang the bell....
we sure hope so - wont know until they get in to find out what is wrong and correct it
we're all salivating...
I'll keep fingers and toes crossed
for so many words - they are not coming easy

it looks wicked herin - cant wait to try it - will get daughter on that this weekend
That looks very good Infernal, have bookmarked it. You would probably like the rootbeer cake
Also What I do is put it in the oven then very carefully pore the hot water on it. I find that you have to be careful with that bit. I don't have a jug any more so I use cups into a large coffee marge
http://gastronomyblog.com/2009/02/09/r oot-beer-bundt-cake/....substitute double Sarsparilla instead of rootbeer and forget the frosting
mug
Lynnxx marked for later
Cheers

HI BR!
later, Une
flosey - you will love it - I just made it for my book group last week - they were happy....
will try it beforehand, but sounds like one the bridge ladies will enjoy - starts up again in the Fall
and its quick and easy to make. Hardest thing about it is finding the lady fingers and the pineapple pie filling - I have had to substitute before - lemon works good as well
ah, thanks for that idea, I love anything with lemon
I need to get to work now - will save the last 88 for later - happy babbling everyone
River, do you suppose it would work with a can of crushed pineapple thickened?
have a good day River
river, I copied your recipe--will try it..sounds delicious
I havent tried that - the pie filling is a different consistency and probably a little sweeter - dont know if it would work out.
bye for now
thanks

i also have sw8, i failed to notice that a moment ago.
ri 8 is a pl ... I wonder if the ri 7 and 8 are a compound word, the first part being the prior 4,6.

It is a legume.

ri 7,8 is the ri 4,6 + a fancy marble
I think that's it.

gotta go take a pic for my honey. 118 left
morning haz, and everyone else. buried in grid...
Hello! This is a grid requiring concentration, for sure.
115 left. and *poof*
later m9
Afternoon Haz! Hi lbd, smiling at yr icon.
Hey ho, FM!
How Spangle doing these days Haz, meant to ask the other day.
Funnily enough, she had been doing well, but over the past few days I've noticed that she's starting to drag again. I think we may need to up the dosage.
awe poor sausage!
She's back to showing minimal excitement when her lead is produced, whereas before we were getting the circulating frenzy. If there were a decent vet around, we'd get this sorted.
LOL. Shame there isn't a decent vet in the house ;)
I know.
We have the phone tonight so I'll speak to Anne Marie, the vet who diagnosed her and who takes her work seriously.
Has Mr Haz done much walking with you?
Ah thats handy.
Yes, he came with me on a longish (8 +miles) on Sunday.
He happily points out the crops growing in the fields and who owns the field etc. It keeps him happy.
Plus he spotted buzzards circling overhead, so that pleased him.
Oh now that is not something you see all the time.
Hi fellow babblers!
Hi beach.
I even spotted a heron all by myself the other day. I didn't even need the bird book!
Hello beach.
shhhh don't mention herons you will get ruby's husband in all of a kerfuffle!
How was your art exhibition, FM?
This one was looking particularly full and particularly guilty. It spoke with a French accent.
Should we be suspicious?
Oh it was wonderful Haz, it is held in a private house with a variety of artists. Sculputres, paintings ceramics and jewelry. Was most impressed by how much had been sold as none of it was particularly cheap.
heh heh Haz
Did you buy anything or just gaze in wonderment that people could afford the prices?
I gazed in wonderment and whispered the prices to Mum who also thoroughly enjoyed it.
Haz, what is wrong with Spangle
She was diagnosed with hypothyroidism a while ago, had been doing well on the tablets, but I think she needs the dosage to be increased.
There were a couple of prints that I liked for about £20 each but I really don't need anymore pictures. However there was a beautiful bronze of a greyhound (about a foot tall) which I coveted but not to the tune of £500.
Now, if we could get lynxxx to get a cast made of Stew....
And then get it shrunk....
I wish there was a pill I coud give to Biscuit that would make him better. He's 16 and has kidney problems
awe - 16 is a very good age bichon
Sadly, no such tablet, bichon. Are the kidney problems well managed at the minute?
He takes enalapril for his heart murmur That's supposed to help kidneys too The diet didn't help either
He's lost a couple of pounds
I think sometimes the diets don't so much help as not make things worse.
He really didn't eat much of the food so I decided to just let him eat the food he did eat. I really can't expect much more than 16 years
That is fair enough bichon
I know. You'd love for them to live for ever, but it's not possible, unfortunately.
He's been a great dog. Typical Bichon personality, very mellow
bAlthough I haven't had a pet for years they bring so much pleasure and happiness into ones life.
I'd love to get another Bichon, but being retired and traveling a lot to CA puts a burden on my daughter and her family
sorry for the silence I went on a flurry of word finding for a couple of mins. Have ground to a halt again.
35 left, time for a break!
where was i ? ah yes, looking for an sa8 that is a legume...
morewords to the rescue! never heard of that.
would you like to clue it hursh?
hmmm, ok
sa + the 411 + not out
ty, i was close, tr5 to roid it! lol
at first i didn't know how i was going to clue it. lucky that the middle part was a word.
Goodness, just as well I refreshed. I hadn't seen any new log posts for ages.
greetings, o queen of the world
Wondered where you had got to Haz. Hi hurshy!
clue for the ai7?
Greetings to you as well!
i've been ai**** out my laundry. stick a t in the middle.
ai7 - put the gerund ending onto the preceding ai4/4
ty, a's absolved!
Ladies Day tomorrow at Ascot Haz, can't wait to see the pics in the papers :)
what does that mean? all women jockeys?
I know - I haven't seen much of it at all (apart from Clare Balding's hat today) so it will be a treat.
Lady's Day traditionally is the day when the ladies make most effort with their outfits.
afternoon everyone
Some of the outfits are more successful than others.
Hello, Mom!
well that sounds more like fashion industry day then.
the not so good outfits are an absolute hoot
Yes, I suppose Ascot is about horses and fashion just about equally.
On balance, probably more money is spent on the horses, but it's a close run thing.
I have attended Ladies Day on many occasions and had much fun.
Did I type Lady's Day? What is wrong with me?
Hi Haz
a momentary lapse
we weren't going to comment, since we know you know better
Gosh you did Haz!!! *psses some blue pills over to you*
Hi Mom
Hi FMitch
not an easy grid.
it's much easier with the list.
Downing the blue pills. I'm so ashamed.
At least you managed to help me this morning with my gramatical query before your brain went AWOL.
This is true. I blame the humidity.
You have humidity, we have sun but quite a strong wind.
I did a brisk walk for an hour so have lost vital brain fluid.
I can get the water cannon out if you like ... ?
you two are like the female version of fry and laurie
It's okay. Gentle rehydration works, not being blown off my feet!
ROFL!
And that, knowing you, hurshy, is quite a compliment.
:)
Which one is Fry and which is Laurie? No don't answer that.
just got ge5/16 totally by myself. that always seem to be my last word when it's in a grid
wtg josh!
*wants to answer but has been bidden not to*
Ah, with the infamous robotic ending....
help with wa6 and 7 that are in the middle of words about being in a decline?
**thinking what word that could me**
lol go on the hursh we know you want to :)
wa6 - starts pale, then either a horse, or a complaining woman, backwards.
laurie is the skinnier one. who now plays house.
thanks Haz
And then the wa7 puts in another vowel to make another syllable.
You're welcome, Mom.
Ah well I guess that makes me Fry then.
and for the 7 as well
oh YOU meant which of YOU is fry and which is laurie. duh. i am so thick.
ty, haz!
thank you haz, i am now finished.
{{LBD}} hello
I'd be flattered to be either. They're both clever, both successful, Laurie plays the piano beautifully, Fry knows everything....
congrats Hurshy
You're welcome. Well done, hurshy!
i didn't imagine there had to be a one-to-one correspondence. just the general comedic pair vibe.
And Fry has the most delicious speaking voice.
See that, we're a comedic pair, FM! I bet Ata feels left out....
He does, I love QI
whooo hoooo hursh!
Being Einstein's granddaughter is all very well....
at least we weren't compared to Morecambe & Wise or many others I won't mention :)
phant indignant
atalante can be aunt agatha or something.
Congrats hursh.
did you know a snapple is 20 oz? it doesn't LOOK that big and then you see the label and say wow, 2.5 of my 8 glasses of liquid in one fell swoop!
*stealth hugs hurshy* YAY hurshy!
how's the grid today?
Hi Stid
the grid is hardish, but mostly fine with list. a few very weird ones.
good to know. I'll try for halfway today then.
anytime you have a k things get weird
halfway is doable Stid
Hi stiddy! What is a snapple hursh?
snapple is a very peculiar fruit-based drink in the U.S. FM.
Ah thanks stid.
my husband is always telling me we don't REALLY need 8 glasses of liquid per day. somehow he knows more than all the doctors and nutritionists. it's really quite remarkable.
ta da! pyros! ty for all the clues!
nest time he has to whizz you kidney stone shrapnek,he will change his mind on daily fluid intake lol
congrats LBD
It is amazing how long it takes to get properly rehydrated if you are not taking a good amount of water on board each day.
whizz out*
does the in 8 build off the in 6?
Congrats lbd! and hello ((crossy))
shrapnel*
(((FM)))
Hi crossy
shrapnek sounds even more painful :)
actually, he is correct hurshy. According to the WHO, "Given the extreme variability in water needs which are not solely based on differences in metabolism, but also in environmental conditions and activity, there is not a single level of water intake that would ensure adequate hydration and optimal health for half of all apparently healthy persons in all environmental conditions."
hey cross!
i drink at least 10 of those regular sized bottles of water per day
a lot of the water you need every day you get from the food you eat
no the in8 is in + stringy decorations on slipcovers.
YAY LBD! have you been working at this grid for long?
howdy stiddles
ah, thank you LBD
well how do you find out what YOUR water intake need is, then?
hiya Stid. yeah been here a couple of hours.
if you're thirsty - drink water. if you're not, don't
when you piss kidney stones..you need more lol
When you have to pee every 5 mins you probably don't need to drink quite so much *grin*
my mom always says the more you pee the less you cry
even after having kidney stones, hubz still doesn't drink enough water, he considers coffee sufficient liquids.
good lord
People who are sedentary and in a temperate environment (like me) need less than an active person in a hot desert. Each person's need varies from day to day as well -- you can tell if you are hydrated by looking at mucous membranes, but most people feel thirsty when they need more fluid intake. And it's not just the drinking of water, but juices and liquids contained in foods.
ok, we have boundaries on either side
thats the one good time to be a woman - doesnt hurt pissing kidney stones - I know from experience
you also need to find out what is causing the kidney stones, calcium and sodium are top suspects.
Hi River
Hi River
Coffee and tea are diuretics, though -- and not recommended (if I recall correctly) for people with kidney problems
the other good time to be a woman is apparently when you are a politician running for office with people claiming to have had affairs with you...
hey River! how are you doing today?
stid, does that apply to herbal tea or just proper tea?
hiya, river!
I must head to the kitchen. Have a good day! Bye!
I am well - busy busy - taking a minute to pass by and say hello before going to lunch
bye bye Haz
Bye Haz!!
all tea is proper hurshy - never heard of tea going off the deep end
caffeinated tea, I believe. Most common herbal teas (but not all, dandelion for example being a great diuretic) are not diuretics. So peppermint and chamomile for example should be okay.
later Haz
bye, Haz. thanks for the clues today!
peppermint helps you to me - remember that after giving birth to my first
funny coversation we have having today about peeing - thanks to crossy
watercress is a great diuertic and is full of Vit C and iron.
bye Haz
why are we talking about peppermint tea?
leave it to crossy to start an unusual topic for discussion! lol
lol
Crossy can be blamed for so many things - it takes the weight off my shoulders :)
If you have concerns about whether a beverage is okay, most pharmacists know when herbs interfere with medications so could probably say if it's "safe" -- also in Washington state at least there are highy trained herbalists and naturopaths who understand the nutritional requirements and effects of dietary substances.
hey jmc
peppermint is the only mint I can still tolerate... *sigh*
FM, we'll leave the other unusual topics to blame on you! lol
lucky for you FM Haz just left
Hi jmc!
hiya jmc
hi jmc!
lol River and lbd.
crossy smiles as he takes a big drink from his water glass...
stid, is it raining on your side of the mountains?
I have mint growing in my garden - very invasive plant - now growing in lawn - smells so good when lawn is freshly mowed
is the M very fishy?
fresh mit is nice indeed
not at the moment, LBD. Did some yesterday, may again later. Why?
may I have a clue for either of the ri 7 words please

I am working on the letter(s) to respond to the people at the stidkid's school. I am really struggling with how to word the complaint and request for info. I can't afford to alienate people, but I MUST get the services my child needs. *sigh*
thank you Josh, I would never have gotten that one
later Doren ((hugs))
you can send me a rough copy, stid. I'll be glad to proof it.
how about: my son needs the services which are to be provided for him by law
off I go, I feel a nap coming on. {{Hugs}} to all of you. Josh and LBD, thank you so much for the clues
thanks LBD. I'll work on it a little more and then send it to you. Right now my frustration is showing in the way I am tending to go off topic. And I want to keep it as simple as possible.
later, (((MOM)))
stimama, our child is adhd, odd and has a feew motor skill issues,it took us 6!! years to get him to the point where he had all the sevices in place that he needed in his schooling ie: individual education programmes, laptop for schoolwork etc..it is a long hard road
{{{LBD}}} have a good day

lolnb, always do one thing each day that scares you;))
hiya, NB!!
hello and bye bye {{NB}}
LOL wait till the lightening rod falls of the church NB!
ohhh, what a lovely welcome, everyone!
Of course, he has accomodations for his neurololgical issues, but so far the other issues weren't enough to merit services (according to the school). We are now going to be pushing VERY hard. But I still feel awful that we allowed it to wait.
I don't watch scary movies, Nancy Boy. There is a reason for that!
I remember going to the cinema to see The Omen when it first came out.
stidmama,do not be afraid to get right in there and tear and shake for what you child needs, only the squeaky wheel gets the grease when you involve school boards and govt
had that bit already, FM ;) just waiting on the rest of the horrors!
stiddie no point in worrying about what is past. just move forward
*passes NB some popcorn and hides behind a cushion*
anyway, off to proof and edit and make waves. Back soon. (((hugs good friends with great advice)))
Bye stiddy dear
the new one, FM, or the old one? 666 isn't even the number of the beast!
good luck, Stid :)
working with school boards is like pushing a piece of rope uphill
hi crossy...did you get my pictures ok? I am not very good at sending things and I did try to make them smaller
the old one NB
bye stiddie
look forward to the email, stid. I have some ideas brewing already.
i got them barb, gave them a glance but have to study them in greater detail
no worries just so long as I sent them correctly thanks again for your help
give me what you know about them again..cause at first glance theses are not pre 1930
I went to see the new one in the cinema FM...had to use my fake ID and wished I hadn't, 'cause it scared me to death ;)
*(*(*(snoggles NB)*)*)*
LOL I think I was slightly underaged when I saw the original one :)
hey! no snogging in the chog lobby lol
Hi EvaN!
((((Eva)))) hello!

i got the work cross but what in gods name is that word?
anyone need a clue or two before i go?
not sure mkg, have yet to look it up
ok it is a drum from india. how many languages do we need to know to do this game?
It is an Indian drum
be an awfully strange coincidence if it was purging packing, Eva ;)
lol Mkg!
ummm Yiddish, Spanish, French, Welsh, French, English ... shall I continue?
im a fan of strange coincidences and happy endings. :/
common nb,your killing the ladies here
Oh I forgot Scottish :)
och! mon!
I don't think anyone could call me a lady-killer, Crossy ;)
lol
i die a little every time you leave, dearest. :P
oooh this film is HORRIBLE!
well stop watching it then!
How far through the film are you Nancy boy?
LOL Eva!!
sorry ladies, seems he is going to leave you dangling on this lol
Movieman, he's just reached the monastery and is talking to the guy with the scary face..
so, spill it, darling. are things ok? are you toying with us? or did stuff go down?
Hows the plans coming along for the book store crossy?
dangling Crossy??
I won't mention what is probably the most famous scene in the whole movie then......
ohhh, sorry. well, no, I'm moving out. just don't quite know where I'm going yet.
slowly fm;( a lot has to come together exactly right for it to happen
oh no Movieman, you've got to tell me! I can't cope :P
Hope it works out well and can't wait to hear of your opening day :)
are things finished? or still working things out?
Oh, it's the famous decapitation scene.....
when i get the keys to the shoppe ,babblers will be the first to know, trust me lol
Oh I know the scene you are referring to mm!
Keith Jennings (the photographer) gets his noggin lopped off.....
Great crossy!#
hmmm, finished, Eva.
decapitated?! by what??
Hey mm - enjoying the footie? NB you don't want to know.
A sheet of glass that falls off the back of a truck
it's been alright so far mitch
but do watch out for any lorries carrying glass
Spain vs Switzerland was a shock result
that film scared me more than any other movie when i was growing up
oh what was the result mm?
bleurgh! oooh they're taking the lid off a grave and...that ain't no human.
No.....it's a bloody jackal.....
I think The Exorsist was the one that really freaked me out.
the b+w vincent price horror movies used to scare me silly hehe
I was alright with the Exorcist, but the dream sequences in this have freaked me out
Why is it when we are young we like to be scared witless?
Elm Street was the first movie that really freaked me out
so you are on the outs with leo? *pulls up chair*
i never liked scary movies
Glad to say have never seen any of the Elm Street or clone movies - way too much.
they used to have this horro/creature feature night and they rann all these movies from 11 pm to 4 am lol.you would not even get off the couch to pee cause you were afraid of what would reach out from under the couch and grab your ankle lol
LO crossy!
*sigh* yes. we had a civilised talk and I thought...why am I trying to talk myself into forgiving him? Six months after I gave up my family and my university place to be with him, and he cheats on me? I can't trust someone like that.
LOL even *sheesh*
*smothers NB with hugs and cuddles* are you allright?
Big step NB, can you pick up the Uni course in the Autumn?
Arriving in the room just in time to hug NB, you have proved that you are strong enough to do any thing you want,
(((Eva))) I'll be fine. Thank you :) and FM, even if I could, there's no way I could afford it! Not if I want to live as well ;)
Hi all
cait! Good evening :)
ohhhh the nanny just injected the mother with the air!
Look into any possibilities of grants etc NB
I have had a great day doing nothing except reading in the sunshine.
thank you, Cait :) well, friends here and everywhere else have been so good...I'll survive ;)
Ain't like great that way cait :)
*life even
oh, NB. im so sorry things didnt work out. but just imagine: if things seemed so wonderful with leo, just picture how amazing they will be with someone who treats you right.
Are you watching the remake NB?
Oh yes for today anyway , back to caring tomorrow lol
Well said Eva
better to end it under that set of facts -- there will be others and eventually the right one
It is good to have some down time esp with yr busy life cait.
reading in sunshine sounds nice
I think I will end my lovely day with a drink
argh I am so going to hate being cut off from babble which in kenya!
When are you going to Kenya and why jmc?
How long will you be there for jmc?
that's what I'm trying to think, Eva :) I just reeeeally need somewhere to go...
that's right, Movieman - never seen the original!
well, if you can smuggle yourself aboard a plane or boat, you know theres a place for you here!!
Oh, in that case, the decapitation scene in the remake is slightly different to the original
And in the original, Kathy gets pushed out the window by Mrs. Baylock, rather than having air injected into her IV line
mm you really love your films
well, a friend of mine has a spare room and actually -needs- a flatmate, which is good! there's one or two issues surrounding it but I'm taking anything I can get
I must be off, much watering of plants in pots to be done. Happy Babbling.
I certainly do!!!! lol
the clue is in the name, Cait ;)
sorry work interferred -- a month
Bye FM see you tomorrow LOL NB
We will miss you jmc
i leave june 29
still have a few grids to go!
but I wish I could smuggle on board a ship Eva ;) don't be surprised if you wake up to some asian kid asleep on your doorstep!
Do you see your family at all now NB?
Anyone wanna clue some 8s for me plz?
oh no, Cait, not these days - I speak to my sister when I can, but she's the only one I'm in contact with
i would jump for joy, and chris would wonder WTH was wrong with me. ;)
mr+freud's focus+mild expletive+vowel is all I got mm
Well you know you have a big family here that care
fr8 - plural of a type of ship
true that, Cait, and I'm grateful for them every day! free therapy, this place ;)
oh Eva, don't tempt me! LOL

Hi River
in8=use some one else's patent!
I don't wanna ruin the ending but he kills the kid, right??!
I have had the chog on while working so check it now and then. Keith is doing well - going to school but cant do anything else - no physical activity allowed until he has a cardiac procedure done. He feels good though.
I have to go and water the garden, see you tomorrow take care
Nope, NB
hi and bye caitlyn
that has to be hard for a kid his age!
bye cait
glad to hear he feels good, but what a shame about the lack of activity...he was an athelete, right? :(
he feels good now on the meds so doesnt understand why he cant play baseball or go to soccer tryouts next week - he has always been an athlete

hello all! is Nan still here?
I just got those letters written *grumble* this squeaky wheel better get some grease soon!
yes -- just came up for air!
keep at it stidmama
hey nan! Can't find italian near the airport, but some of the hotels have very nice restaurants attached. Okay if Mother comes along too?
took 6 years for us stidmama, from the time in grade one where they rfused to teach him unless we drugged him,to where he finalyy had a IEP and a laptop for his studies and all the other things he needs
that sound great, stid -- would love to meet stidmere as well :)
we will have a car, so don't have to eat right at the restaurant.
okie dokie! will do further research and let you know. I am very very (x 20) happy we are finally going to get to hang out for a while!
even better. :-D I'll make sure it
it's not a crazy route to the restaurant -- some of the roads around the airport can be confusing.
oooh. a ki 4 that has a gerund, too!
don't fuss too much stid - we do have gps in the car, but the maps are about 3 years old.
*glances at NB and notices he is hiding his eyes behind his fingers*
EvaN! how's the planning going? dress done yet? I told mother about the lovely train on it. We are all so happy for you!
hello stid. so much planning left to do, so little time and money...heh we have a second appt with the caterer next week, so hopefully the menu will be settled after that. might try to meet with a florist or baker while we are out there...
coming down to the wire now eh eva?
see, all of these are reasons we eloped... LOL
no wire, no wire! plenty of time left, right? ;)
sory..sorry! just breathe eva...crossy should not have done that lol
lots of time...
calm blue ocean....
hey I like wires - its a personal preference I guess
here's how it works (like parenting and school): you make your best plans without going crazy. Then the day arrives and whatever happens, happens. The important thing is that you are starting your new life as a married couple and that your family and friends will be there to support you. The rest is all just superficial (though pretty) stuff.
i got married in my backyard. husband found rent-a-priest. (minister who worked in the company) , photographer who was co-worker, neighbor who made wedding cakes. easy.
hey all
hey peri!
Hi Peri
sounds ideal, mixi!
we had a 300 dollar civil service with her parents and my sister and brother and a giant seafood fest afterwards
mmmm. seefood fest... *sigh*
just finished an unpleasant, stinky task. washed out the garbage can, the one the cans go in and that includes empty cat food cans eww.
It was. total cost under $1000. (including wedding, reception and my dress).
though i am going to walk her down the aisle in full regallia for our 20th..shhh
oh! I am up to 100 words! Time for me to get the rest of my day started. So much to do... my vacation week is half over and so much yet undone. LOL oh well.
good for you peri *approving mama look*
aww you are such a sweetie, crossy
have only 99 words. must catch up to stidmama.
do you line that can with anything? we have started lining our indoor recycling bin to help stop yuckiness. It seems to be helping a little
ohhhh crossy - what a romantic thing to do...
hello everybody. Back to try for a few words
oh cross! you're such a romantic!
I feelt sorry for the trash collectors, wil have to clean it out at least once a month
3 more years till then
line it with what, a trach bag?
anyway... **hugs ruby on way out** I'll be back later, sooner if possible! LOL *poof*
trash even
we use those big black trash bags to line our recycle cans
I might do that stidmama, then I would only have to throw the bag away once or twice a month
bye ((stid))
I really hate N words
nut they like you River :)
but even, *sigh*
but even, *sigh*
*calmed* i am mostly fine. my only stressor is that i have a groom who wants to have an opinion, but doesnt want to do any legwork or make any decisions...
Im not quite sure about that - they tend to drive me crazy
we use the little plastic bags that the stores insist on using for vegetables and use a tiny wastebasket in kitchen. All plastic, newspapers and glass gets recycled
but since they don't separate the glass colors, I don't really trust their recycling!
we use the bags from the store too and then when they get full they are emptied into the larger one outside that ends up really stinky. will line it with a large black bag as soon as it drys
crazy or nuts?
don't know if they separate glass by color here
depends on the day ruby....
how often do they pick up your trash, peri?
we dont separate by color
regular trash once a week, paper and cans every other week
we dont have pick up either
if they don't separate it, I doubty that it can be re-used.
my husband takes the glass, plastic and paper to the place up the road; cans go in the regular trash, but I wash them first -- *compulsive moi*
I rsinse out the cans and glass jars with hot water
I should compost, but I'm too afraid of worms to deal with the idea!
we have to clean all of our recycables
other people in the house do not
not crazy about worms
we compost and dont have worms
hmmmm
I thought that compost was supposed to make GOOD worms for the garden
we have tons of worms in the garden but not in the compost bins
its alot of work and smelly though - husband takes care of that
but all of our veggie peels, egg shells, coffee grounds etc go in compost
help with the m word pls
I don't mind worms in the garden as long as I'm wearing gloves and don't look at them too much, but in fruit and vegetables in the house, that's another story
hola all
mr + self + mild swear + vowel

Missing one 8 - IN?
hello hotspur
hi hotspur
ta jaq - never heard of the word but one to remember
there is an in8 - trademark thing
Hotspur - from Northern England
okay, listing with 111 to go.

thanks for the trademark clue! listing at 109! LOL
it will go fast for you now stid
oh, that sux fer u! LOL *wicked little sister grin*
* thump *
first ti 6 please
It's probably obvious, but I can't figure the hint code you're using. For example, can anyone translate this?: sa 8: compound word: 4/4 + 4/7 babblets
ow! MOM!!!! *whimper, innocent look*
sa is the first two letters in the word 4/7 means it is 4 letters long and worth 7 points
hotspur...clues: xx (first 2 letters of the word), first number = the number of letters in the word, second number = point value of the word
sa 8 is an 8 letter word starting with Sa. the first part is one word that has four letters and is worth 4 points. the second word is four letters worth 7 points
How do you know a word starts with sa?
there is a list on lickety - scroll down below the tile stats
check out Lickety's Babble Clues below the grid under "Friends of Babble"
or we're really really smart and/or psychic!!!
sometimes we know because someone has already asked for it, hotspur.
oh I like that answer better
A good place for babble how-to is Angelsong's pages: http://www.freewebs.com/angelsong/

he is on meds and find - just cant sit still
*fine
I would call the hospital administration... And follow up in writing with a registered letter (a trick my friend LBD taught me) and tell them that you need ANSWERS.
can he do gentle exercise? Is he allowed to walk several miles, for example?
imagine trying to make either stidkid walk slowly and do things quietly, stid! i'm thinkin' that's where River's at with her boy.
all I need is a date - if they cant book me I will ask them who to contact in Boston - Childrens Hospital in Boston is awesome - where my son has his open heart surgery at 7 weeks - they will take him back - if they can do it sooner will drive the distance
What happens if his father calls the hospital? Sometimes they listen to men better than to women. *feminist-indignant mama look*
I completely know where she's at... *sigh* fortunately haven't had to deal with enforced stillness.
okay, help on the next to last WA 7 please?

stid - do you need coffee
yes! that is true, wht -- it really does. OH! wait! did the wedding happen? how was it?
sure does wht!
coffee? why? do I seem underenthusiatic?
Definitely not going to finish tonight. 130 words left to find.
Yes, the wedding happened and it was wonderful, even if the rain forced us to have it indoors and not in the garden.
*jumps up and down and runs around the room like a teen who has been told to sit still*
you were stuttering hon - was concerned
wow Minski, that's a lot of ground to cover...
m said it first, river! LOL
Girlfriend called. She got evicted by the state of New York from the illegal basement apartment she planned on dying in and is having a difficult time with it. Also, she's a talker.
you can do it Min.. 2+ hours left!!! ;-)
oh, I am pleased it happened, and you coped and the worst was the rain! **hugs wht** so happy for your family!
oh no Minski... what a sad thing. that is rough.
yeah.. but I don't drink coffee... tee hee
ty stid. When the morning weather forcast included a tornado watch, rain seemed like the least of our worries.
I obviously missed something here - wht - was there a wedding for you or your family???
93 to go, taking a break for now..
oh my minsk.. poor thing
that's okay, I'll drink the coffee for you, m; and you can eat the cinnamon rolls that came with it...
ack. tornados are SCARY!
see you soon Jilly
ROFL>.. now I have stuck in my head.. It's a nice day for a wht wedding...
My daughter was married a week and a half ago. It was wonderful.
Oh Minski - thats too bad
ohhhhhh M9 ....thats it
yeah, change is difficult for her. She has adhd, dislexia, is bipolar and has fibromalasia. Moving was not an easy thing. neither is living without a washing machine and dryer.
We didn't have any wind where we were in central Mass, but there were a bunch of trees down around Boston.
Congratulations wht - your family has grown with more to come
what? you're kicking me out??LOL
no, I couldnt say any more....
Congratulations wht on your fireworks! Good for you
hey again Min! glad you showed up. Now I can read your story!
ty Min
Gack. When did it get to be late.
I think I need to be off soon. TO do you need any clues?
Min, that is a wonderful story
Hi all....May I please have a clue for wa6-48? Thanks
oh.. I haven't read it yet! I think...
Good night wht

Thanks so much Min and River and wht.

Amen to that wht.
I need to go as well - good night all - ((hugs)) to my babble friends
Oh been there, done that, several times wht, LOL!
LOL wht -- babbling, dreaming. when I sleep I dream that I am still babbling.
So I will leave this cheery bunch. Catch you all tomorrow.
Goodbye Riverdance! I'll see you tomorrow in the log!

bye mins
Goodnight to my fellow babblers!I'll see you tomorrow
one means not strong, one means to break the baby from the boob, one means the past tense of go
ka 4 the last is like a kitty... end in a vowel
those are the we4 words
those are the we4 words
second we 4/8 is I we** to the cupboard to get my poor dog a bone
we4/8 is to have gone, TO.
*watching wht NOT going to sleep*
ok. really leaving now. the only letter I finished completely was the Ws so I had to do that clue.
ty sitll nedd 1
The other two we4 words are not strong and to teach a baby to eat.
sweet dreams again Minski... LOL
ty all. i am running late, need to hit the ahy
wow. the M's actually won a game! *faints again*
sweet dreams TO. hope you have a good day tomorrow!

Night TO. Now I am really leaving. Night all. {poof}
I don't actually watch baseball anymore -- since Edgar retired it just isn't worth it.
*watches wht leave again*
an 7/28...?
an 7: start with Ms. Landers' first name end with "plural" of past tense of consume food
nvm.I got it
but thank you!
I'll say thank you Stid...I just started the grid
back for more pain
hey again pin
hey Magyk!
hey Magyk
hiya stid...did you finish?
hey all!
* stupid question *
hi magyk
LOL pini -- only a little while ago actually. Was busy and overwhelmed and out of the house much of the day. Tomorrow should be more tranquil.
did your houseguest leave (any cookies)?
* sigh * no
but gave me a few bucks to pay for a new box (since costco requires a membership and that's the only place that sells them)
what's a good website to find jobs? I've been to monster and careerbuilder...but I thought there was another major one..
anything on Craig's List, Magyk?
hmmm babble was acting wierd..
that's nice, pini, that you got some remuneration... LOL
not that I've found yet...at least not close enough to where I live.... I hate living at least an hour from any major city!!
hi all
hey barb!
Personally, I'd rather have the COOKIES!!!
hi barb
I had tom mix up some home-made cough medicine (was uncontrolled coughing a little while ago) I think he reversed the amounts of honey and pirate beverage. Glad I don't need to be anywhere tonight
pini, when you come visit in August, let's bake cookies!!!! we can make some just for us, and some for the whole crowd!
* giggle *
that works for me, stid!!!
ARRRR! *gives glaring pirate mama look*
ai7?
use the babblet ai 4/4 and gerund it
you know why pirates are so awesome??
can you be my support person for something pini? I NEED to write another chapter in my story. It's been over 6 months. Can you hold me accountable to have one done by noon tomorrow?
there's an ai4/4 babblet?
why, m?
of course, stid...although I'll be at work most of the day...
oohh.. crack that whip!
the first two ai 4/4 are common babblets
stid...because they ARRRRRR!
that's okay, you work in a WRITING department, don't you? *wicked pirate mama giggle*
rofl m!
...I could give you a guilt trip and say, "When I check on you later tonight, in the morning (sneak attack from the office), and finally at lunch...you'd better be finished!" ;)
stidkid thinks that is funny too...
of course I do, stid...but it's summer break now and noone's around...do you need something to be read? if so, it would be me :(
that might actually work, pini...
he is practicing being lame. as in teen-ennui. I can hardly wait for summer... (not)
ohh.. maybe stidkid will like my dh's favorite ghost story too!
no one's around at all? poor poor lonely pini. I could come down and sneak attack from behind the file cabinets on Friday...
"let me have it" (direct quote re ghost story)
* giggle *
is pini near olytown too?
I'm about 4 hrs south, m9
and they aaalllllll died!
no, she is in the Klamath mountains.
Klamath mountains? I think they're a bit south, stid...I'm near the Cascades
oh yeah.. she's even further south than I
stidkid doesn't get it either, m... *grin*
crazy coyotes!! I feel like I need to say Batman after that. Listen to this story! http://yourownimage.com/Wile_E_Coyote_ Has_Been_Found.html
you have to say it with a spoooooky voice!LOL
*idea* do you consider Portland a day trip, m?
it's a short ghost story!LOL
I tried. but the cough pretty much reduced my voice to a whisper
* knows where stid is going with that Q *
it IS a short ghost story! VERY effective, I am sure.
Stid can't talk? *boggle*
Portland is a HALF day trip.LOL... I ran there for something off craigs list recently!! LOL
could anyone clue on the in9/90 word please?
barb, *trademark* related?
I would but I wouldn't want to in****** on your rights!
RIEMANN!!! YOU BEHAVE YERSELF!
thank you
oh, and pt it barb
what I am thinking is... hood river is a two-day trip for me. Portland is a half-day trip for me, and a short day for pini.
Maybe we could do a meetup there too? AT powell's and go to that killer toy store meliae told us about and eat at the Paradox....
sounds good to me! Powell's and Paradox!LOL
((((riemann)))) you could come too, dear, if you liked.
great minds..
where's riemann?
you up for that, pini?
riemann is near seattle now.
<-- will be sure to remember GPS again!
it's a LOT closer than indiana...
welcome to the PNW, riemann!
might be able to make it. what day?
don't know yet, riemann. I am free most Fridays-Mondays. A Saturday would probably work best though
not next week... cub scout day camp all week
although next Friday I will be in Vancouver (maybe saturday too) for dance festival
fri/sat works best for me
next week is not great for us either, having dinner in Seattle with Cybernan on June 25

Hi Tom! Have you spent that $13 yet?
<-- used to live in Utah :)
very, stid...so excited!
LOL
I know -- younger stidkid did dance festival up in TAcoma last summer. It was excellent.
can I give it to you next time you are down here riemann?
he has LDS best friend...
My oldest two did dance festival at the rose garden about 4 years ago
what's your credit score? *grin*
and they both did swing... so they were really stoked that Elina is doing swing too!
that must have been so exciting, m. Just the tacoma dome was imposing enough for me!

A sort of line dance... oh! I bet you could!
I'd do it again if I could find a partner that wouldn't clothesline me!
at the one 4 years ago, the deacons did a napolean dynamite dance.. SO cute
egads! It was 2008! TWO years ago! *sigh* I must be getting old.
