hi Ruby and Sandra
aaah, got it! the root used in making gin hahah
hello flosey and M9
left for a bit to check email.
Not being a gin nipper, I don't feel bad about not knowing that one
oh, is it Ruby, didn't know that - like an occasional GnT.
Bombay gin has about 12 plants but I think juniper is most important for gin

WTG Jilli
congrats jilli!
YAY jilli!
hi ruby!
and since we're twins..you know I'm close behind you!LOL
I'm off to bed now, good night all, be back at flip tomorrow night.
how are you, jilli? You are usually finished when I arrive!
gd night flosey!
night flosey
Good morning/evening everybody :-)
hello soodle. How is your holiday?
I'm ok, ruby -- how are you?
Hi soodle!
it's wonderful here in the AM before it gets hot
Just heading to the airport in about an hour, Rubes. I cant wait :-)
It's still cool here -- low 20sC (low 70sF), but ok for swimming now.
did you get my mail?
clue for the yt?
fireworks!
y double cross
yt + criminals go on ****l in court.
y 6/24
YAY m9!!!
right behind you as usual jilli!
and you even picked a squid too, lol!
yay, m9
hi guys, - Ruby didn't you just LOVE last night
Thanks!
it was an exciting race, and the views of the Tour were the most fabulous I have seen - and terrifying on that beautiful descent
Ikept thinking Lance would take one of the mountains and maybe even the stage! All the French announcers can do is rave about all the Fr stage wins!
Do you think Lance has any chance for taking Thursday's stage?
I love the old castles and the gorges (gorgeous lol)
I hope that if Lance can't do it, Vino breaks Alberto's heart!
Lance talk time!LOL midnight here. I'm off to zzzzzland.
I told you yesterday.....LOL I think he is too old - I think he had a good shot last night but his old legs just couldn't make it - he did really amazingly well
DH thinks that Schleck will win, but I think he looks blank-faced, drooly and a little crazy (not DH)
nite m9
g'night all!
poor M9
night m9
gd night, sorry that you don't like the Tour
sandy -- that's quite a tale in your profile, and quite a photo too!
I think it will be Contador, because he really does have such a strong team- I would love to see someone else win tho
Jilli, if you had been there you wouldn't have believed it! It was as big as the boat and we thought it was going to land in the boat on us
How's our Canadian (Victorian) Ryder doing?
read your profile, sandy, and I, too, love rays but have never seen a big one. In Miami the leopard rays would swim right near anybody in the water, really beautiful
Did you take that picture, sandy?
he hangs on, jilli, seems like a solid "ryder" and may be the future
LOL no jilli, I saw it on the internet and it reminded me of that incident
good for him
Lots of really huge mantas up near Dampier and we would see them when we were snorkeling often - but not too often as there were lots of sharks
well, if nobody wants clues I'll head for bed too.
just the 8!, jilli, if it's not too late!
I am waiting for wine o'clock
I need so many others, I'd be embarrassed to ask
what to do with all the extra hours with no race?
I have 72 left and now will be going to the list
Ruby , the comentator was saying that they will be going out for a 4 hour ride on the rest day!! he explained why but I would be tucked up in bed
di8 "the sweet di8 of the dress..." (Robert Herrick)
and I will be going to bed early tonight - I got up at 1am and started to watch the recorded tour and went to bed at 4 am
unfortunately, I only get to watch what they show live so I never hear the"extra" stuff, just read it in the paper or hear it from you
sorry -- "...in the dress...Kindles in her a wantonness..."
ruby, I only watch the live too, but our commentators are different from yours so that is where i get those bits
lovely clue, jilli, but I am not that literate LOL
Just google it
here, they are obsessed with the successed of minor Fr riders as they've been doing so badly for so long, since JaJa retired!
A sweet di****** in the dress
im not that literate either jilli
thinking
oh well, di + cons + you give your ***** from the menu to the waiter in the restaurant.
I have to go and make my puppy breakfast (?? is she insane) and will look it up after
"talk about spoon-feeding!" XXjilli
Or di + cons + "that's an *****, soldier."
I didn't even have the or part!
lol still thinking no more clues now jilli we should be able to get it!
it is a lovely quote!
One of my favourite poems
see you later! {{big hugs}}
bye now
When you get the word, just google "Delight in Di******" by Robert Herrick for the whole (short) poem.
bye sandy!
and goodnight all.....*poof*
no no Im not going , actually was just reading that poem - it is charming
oh good! *repoof*
now im off!
hi and nbt
and I'm back, having only 55 words!
hello joshua
or anybody??
just finishing up
Good morning, ruby, I'm here.
back again,
groceries arrived
how is the weather, haz, if you're there? What you get today, we usually get in two days
It's wet today but good weather predicted for tomorrow - some parts of England and Scotland to have heavy rain today.
we really need rain. watering the tomatoes is a nasty job because there is no water wource in that part of the garden. There used to be a tap for "mountain" i.e. non-potable water, but it was really excpensive because it always leaked underground
sosurce*
but at least we seem to have a lot of tomatoes this year. Some years, all the tomatoes in the valley turn black!
hello
Hello, herin.
hi how are you all?
hello herin
I think we're only two plus lurkers??
I just lurked. I have had a really bad day and it was made really good.
I am here
just for a few minutes
kallia, hello
what made it better?
Hello, kallia.
A girl that I went to high school with and was really abusive towards me just sent me a message on facebook. Apologizing for what she did
I can barely breath
that is really nice; things like that can really gnaw at you.....
It seems like a genuine appolgy not a hollow one
take it for its face(book) value; it is still an apology
Ruby what I mean is it wasn't a yeah sorry about that but a I have been looking for you and wanted to say this
that is even better; it sounds like she means it or she wouldn't have bothered looking for you
Yes. I just don't know what to say
got to go...is this hard or is it me....53 left for later
don't feel bad, kallia, I still have 60 left and it probably won't get much better
It's a pick apart grid, Kalia, see you later.
oh I dont feel bad :)
later guys
just thank her, what else can you say? and maybe tell her it fixed an otherwise poopy day!
Ruby. I believe that it takes a lot of courage to face up and apologise for actions done in the past.
I think so, too; most of us can't do that.
how long ago was the problem?
bye kallia
best word: ni7/32 gas
atrot
whoops
whoops
snort Ruby
ty, I didn't see that! lol
and then I thought it was a word, duh
seems like you got hickups
gulping my OJ
so what happened bad today?
Teacher was a meany, my phone ate the last year worth of SmS's which means I have lost a lot of memories. I feel like half my brain is gone
that's like having your computer crash and losing all your correspondence!
can you back up SMS's?
My son is always telling me to back up what's on my computer, but I never do and live in fear.....
it would be losing 12 years of my life and letters!
Ruby I lost 2 years worth of poetry and writing when BOTH copies of the floppy disc died
that's awful!
Backing up your pc isn't hard. You can buy a one or 2 terribite these days and just put everything across
he keeps saying that, but I am too lazy and hardly ever go out of the house except to lunch and there are no shops
Ruby you could order on Amazon UK
and today computer is making "hairball" noise again
that's a great idea, or amazon.fr What is it called?
ANd probably not even expensive. Does it come with instructions?
and I could call it "My life" hah hah, very pretentions and banal!
Ruby My b.f recommends this brand: http://tinyurl.com/344aw2r
will that site work a little later, somebody is thumping around upstairs.....
and thank you for the site!
and B>F>
no Problems. It is something that a friend recomends.
I just located it and will order after lunch. {{hugs to you and to BF}}
evening all :)
Morning everyone :D
O Ruby don't do that on my behalf. I know that brand is reliable
MR PRESSSSSSSs Feenix hi
wow, where is everyone?
Hi Ata. I'm here.
hi Jac!
Did you make the soup?
not yet, I think I will tonight though
I'll be having mine for lunch today. Gave half to my Mum.
mmmm!
Trying to get grid done before this afternoon's threatened thunderstorms come. Will not have computer on then!
not convinced these thunderstorms will turn up!
Sky's a bit black here.
blue skies, no clouds here!
Half blue, half black here!
sounds possible then :)
Be better if it doesn't rain - I've got some planting out to do. Need to empty greenhouse before next week, so Beloved can repair it. It's a cedar one, was 2nd-hand when I got it 30 years ago and is probably same age as me!
Pity Beloved can't 're-build' ME, too. LOL
LOL :) wouldnt that be nice
It would!
plastic surgeons are so much more expensive LOL
Ah, but if Beloved rebuilds me I'll probably end up with a wooden leg, albeit in cedar. LOL
at least cedar smells nice!
Are you saying my real legs SMELL? LOL
looooool
Actually, they do - of n-spa Coconut Icecream body cream.:-)
oooo lovely! love coconut
Got it from ASDA, along with matching shower cream. It smells lovely.
I was so busy trying to make the first 'aw' word I 'saw' (not asleep) that I failed to see the real 'aw' word (not at home) until just.
I see the God of Love is hiding up the corner, too.
I just love Asda
BBS - the cat wants me for something.
Whoops! I'd forgotten his breakfast so he was doing that Simon's Cat 'FEED ME!' thing.
LOL!! Poor cat!!
I haven't had breakfast yet either and I'm not moaning. LOL
cats live to moan
So do some people.
I suppose I should eat really.. it'll be lunchtime soon!
Hi Haz. How true!
lol very true
Hello! Just passing through, unusual to see so few around.
I know! where is everyone?
Probably all hiding in the corner with the God of Love.
I've no idea. People earlier came on, said hello, posted a few more times and then off they went.
i'm lurking
It'll probably happen to us sooner or lat.....
hi sandy!
Hello sandy.
hey at, did you watch the tour last nite
Haz - LOL
hi jac
To the PB Sandy!
I did! CAn't believe they are making everyone do the Tourmalet twice!
oh no!!! hmmm
she was speaking french
the scenery was stunning and the race exciting
that's right Haz, I was speaking french
That will never do. This is an English speaking site. You can't let pesky foreign words in.
how lucky you are to live so near to the continent
ah c'est la vie
That's mkg's opinion, isn't it? Keep the foreign words out.
tant pis
sandy - was that accompanied by a Gallic shrug?
I say ban all the weird scottish ones
oui,!
NOOO - Ata - I can get all those easily!
The Scots ones are weird! We use them and they're highly descriptive. You can gulder at a hallion and feel really satisfied.
ma typing est ne bien pas
Not weird, I should have said.
as is my french
Votre typing est rubbish.
j'agree
Haz a beaucoup de tact au jour d'hui
I wonder if there is a 'french babble'
Haz est dans le mood to parler sa mind.
je suis dans le mood to partake de vino
Haz a eu un jour mauvais?
Not vraiment. Je suis diplomatique, je have un certificate de Henry Kissinger.
ah oui, c'est vrai
un certificate de Henry Kissinger! c'est tres bonne!
J'ai donne mon word that je serai diplomatique.
toujours?
Aussi diplomatique que possible.
Ce serait difficult si someone disait quelque chose de nasty a propos George.
Je suis en awe
moi aussi
C'est understandable.
George? Cet acteur affreux Boo!
hello all
bonjour Sprite
Ce ne'est pas everyone qui can at5/18 ce certificate-la.
bonjour sprite!
Hello, sprite.
Hi Sprite.
ou peut-etre can at6/18?
ello mes amies
at6/18 , je demande votre pardon.
Speaking of foreign words - ou5.12. LOL
merci bien!
How I wish French was the language I was learning. Certainly sexier than Korean.
Hi NB.
you can always start learning french, Nancy Boy, and hi :)
hi NB
7 k's. urf
Sprite, you could be the 'dr god' of a new 'french babble'
Afternoon :) I'm not sticking around long, got another horrendously long day at work coming up. How are you all?
very well but cold here nb
sandy, never. I am happy being a sprite. No ambitions to become either a dr or a god, let alone both.
lol
how's the ankle, Nancy Boy? Any good results from the healing vibes yet?
wow Sprite, that is some fish!
Alas Sprite, I ruin the good work of the vibes by going to work and standing on the ankle for twelve hours in a row. Can't really do my job on crutches - nice to see the ever-changing pattern/colours of bruising, though ;)
*doubles healing vibes towards Nancy Boy* Remember, dearheart, that if you ruin your ankle permanently, it will be worse for you than deciding now to let it heal for a day... (sorry to sound motherish)
isn't it, Sandy!
*seconds Ata* URFF!
NB buy some Arnika from a chemist - homepoathic rememdy and brilliant for healing and bruising.
hi FM
Hello all! am on hold on the phone again.
Hi FM.
canned music and endless choice menus?
I know you're right, Sprite, but I'm between a rock and a hard place, money-wise - especially with the trip coming up. If I want to buy anything (like, food) between then and now, it's a cycle of twelve-hour days for me! ;)
Thanks, FM, will look into it! :)
hello again everybody
the chat is hilarious!!!
yup - oh got real person now. TTFN.
FM!! arnica is wonderful, my physio recommended it
NB - arnica cream or even witchazel will help your bruise.
Hi ruby.
it is so hot this afternoon -- again!! when will this heat wave end?
hi jacula
I understand so well, Nancy Boy. Just wanted to say that money-wise you will be worse off when your ankle is taking longduring damage or even, god forbid, permanent damage. Be wise. Arnica, yes, and rest for the other 12 hours, gentle rubbing (upwards from foot to upper leg), and receiving of heaps of healing vibes...
sending healing vibes!!!!
sprite - you took the words right out of my mouth!
it IS hot. A great summer, though sleeping and being active is both tough.
dune
lol Jac, great minds...
dusorry- My cursor moved!
Alright. Thanks, all, will follow this good advice as much as is possible!
FIREWORKS!:-) Last word found was the yt6. I KNEW it was in there somewhere!
that is either a typo or a phantom, Kaplan
I almost fell down a whole flight of stairs this AM but caught myself just in time. And DH was oblivious
hello kaplan!
yayyyyyyyyyy Jac, good job!
Yeah, yeah, I know.
he was standing right there and didn't notice!
ruby - hate it when that happens. Really makes your heart thump, doesn't it?
Hi, Ruby, how are you?
love that yt words!! yay jac
Thanks sprite.
genetically men don't see things right under their noses, rubyfoo... they see their prey in the distance ;)
hot, but not pedalling today, it's the last rest day before the end of my beloved Tour!
I'd better go and eat now. Happy Babbling all.
LOL Sprite!
*grins evilly*
enjoy, Jac, and *hugs*
I got kicked off the internet but now im back
I don't believe that sprite could have an evil grin!
bye jac
were you naughty
wb sandy
oh rubyfoo, you don't know a 10th of me, lol. I can be fully evil.
nah!
<--- has a very black sense of humour
is there a better kind?
depends. Not for surviving life, I think.
whoops, that's me off. have fun and thanks for the tips, everyone!
bye
best of luck, Nancy Boy, and take care *hugs*
bye NB, take it easy on that ankle!
sandy, what do we do with our free afternoon?
What is "a nominal egg? " Anyone know?
I kept thinking about it as I was going to sleep.
it is a saying. It will cost you a nominal egg.
after going to bed at 4am , I am going to bed early
You got it!
An arm and a leg.
Sprite, you are amazing! I didn't know that
I thought I'd at least get to do the punchline.
Yo're all too qick.
Ruby, did you enjoy the 'french' on the chog?
that is really coincidence, I came across it yesterday while hunting for icon themes! Some page about eggs.
Quick. Can't catch you off gard, can I?
oh yes, lots and lots more things we do NOT know :)
You came across A Nominal Egg?
let me see if I can find that page again
I thougjt it was MY joke.
I thought the French was very funny. However, I am dealing with "local" idiomatic French, very different from what I learned in high school!
I hate to ask, but what the @#$! is that en6- a clue maybe....please all you brilliant people
they drop the "ne" when speaking in the negative!
http://themes.pppst.com/specialeggs.ht ml this is the link
en6 - en plus the ending to Buzz Al who visited the moon.
en?? who is that brilliant?
Or to the final (three) add the first letters of what you do to get the shampoo out of your hair.
thanks Haz
You're welcome.
still don't have it, too obscure for this sleepy gal!
rubyfoo, we have a dutch variety of that joke... from 'enough is enough' we pretend it is french... an oeuf is an oeuf, hence translated to dutch as " Een ei is een ei" --> an egg is an egg.
it is getting so hot again!!!!
Didn't Buzz Lightyear visit the moon?
Yes, but Buzz Al**** forged the way.
too funny, sprite, I knew about an oeuf..... hahahah
got it thanks haz
got, ty, haz!!!!
You're welcome, sandy and ruby.
it*
lol
er4 says hi to FM again
I feel so needy...
I am not at my best (whatever that is) when it gets to be over 30C (over 90F)
Have to make a phone call - back later!
I hope that er4/4 stays away from here it's too hot!!!!
make it all going even more supple though
Ruby, I hate the heat! Can't function in the heat and we have plenty of it here
bye for now, Haz
but not this season, n'est-ce pAS?
not at the moment though
am not good with heat either. Am getting nothing done, just therapy and kid is about enough to drain my energy. But it helps to decide things can wait until cooler.
I do a minimum.
the garden needs work but there is no way I'm going out in the sun!
Terra is hilarious. He provokes us to play, the wilder the better, and then all of a sudden he sits down, looks at us reproachfully for making him so hot, and slides flat down with a big sigh.
that is so cute!
it is :)
he gets an icecube after each walk, so he can cool down. He loves it, paws it around and chases it... then flops down and licks it up.
I can't get Ruby interested in ice; she doesn't get it. I don't think chows are the smartest.... maybe the nicest.....
it took Terra some time to realise too. We held it in our hand for him, and also we made it glide over the tiles in the kitchen to chase.
I'll try that. For now, she has a spot in the dirt, under a shrub, and seems to like that the best
for nbt, top A, pls
to require, to get
or the other A: latin plural for central chamber of Latin house
how many letters?
no, the left one, got the others
to at6/18 and at5/10

to4ist is bugging me big time
to4/4 japanese gate and plural?

to4ist is a phantom, so very very almost there
must get out of the heat now!
see you later
bye rubyfoo
have you all left me?

Wow River, I have missed all this recent drama but sounds like there has been a good outcome. You must be breathing a lot easier now
oohh, my favorite chore is in the grid and I am the one who does it..... ir 4/4 and 6/18
Phantom: pandiculation

that was nice Herin
finished battling with this for the night - Bye all
pleasant dreams Lynxxx
good night lynxxx
bye lynxx
I don't know I just received a FB message from her. Maybe she felt it was time to say sorry. She had a pretty crappy home life and I always felt sorry for her that victimising me was her way of asking for help
sometimes that takes a lot of courage for someone to apologize
bye lynxxx
Bye Lynxx.
Mom I looked her up on Google it turns out her kids and hubby is very unwell
I may be going to therapy and this is one way to get past the ghosts
not I but It*

ooh, pizza o'clock...
i can haz pizza for breakfast?
Hi EvaNadine
its just gone lunch oclock here so i might give my brain a chance to recover and get some coffee
hi mom. :)
hello eva
just 20 left now - might save them for later
Morning Eva
Eva you wouldn't want the pizza I had for dinner for breakfast. it is standard drunk food
Not that I am drunk but it isn't great
hiya river, mornin nono
O wedding How is wedding stuff going Eva?
heh, i would actually probably love it. just shouldnt have it. ;)
find your shoes yet Eva?
slowly but surely... encountering some issues with the band, but will get it worked out. also have a second cake tasting with a baker next week, so i think we may have found the one we want...
nope, still no shoes. but i will find something. :)
damn to the shoes
i had hot chilli pizza for brekkie once
I'll take any kind of pizza for breakfast :)
im hoping since the autumn clothing is coming out that i will be able to find something, since orange is more of an autumny color...
That's true Eva
you are having an orange wedding dress?
Kazz she wants orange shoes
aah - mind you orange wedding dress is okay too
heh, yes, orange shoes, not dress. the dress has already been purchased. :)
could you not get a cream silk pair and get them dyed, my friend did or her bridesmaids.
time for me to start my day. {{Hugs}} to all of you.
see you later
bye ((Mom))
bye bye Kazzer
bye ((Mom)) I need to start work now too - later everyone
i could, kazz. thats my backup plan if i cant find something.
{{Nono}} wishing you a good day
bye river
{{River}} have a good day

OMG I just had this mental image of horrid Chav wedding dress EVA. Give me a heart failure
Bye MOM
Bye River
yeah, just got a call about a job!!
my dress is awesome, i promise. :)
yes a vision of orange and black just flickered through my head and back out again. When is the day?
Chav! I heard chav. Has anyone seen that video of that chav kicking someone's wall in? You don't get stronger karma than that.
hi NB
Hi NB - how are you today. Good luck with the job python
i have just found out that i have bad cellulitis again - more antibiotics and leg cream - yuck
NB hi
hi, all :) I'm well thank you, just trying to get a few more words before I have to drag myself off to work.
http://chavspeak.info/ Best site ever NANCy
i am off today but back in again tomorrow - going to see if i can get a leg rest for the poorly one
kazz, october 23, a week before halloween...heh but no halloweenie wedding for me!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23eSjQ5 3Kco this is the vid I mean - pure poetic justice, right there.
(((huggles NB)))
(((Eva))) how are you, gorgeous?
thats lovely EVA - should be some good colours about for photos etc. i love the autumn - my favourite season
NBthat is on that site
sleepy. and with sore feet. should worn flats to the reception last night -- no seating!
Eva that is the eve of my birthday :D
thats what im hoping kazz! the ceremony is planned to be outdoors, and the place is very secluded, surrounded by trees that will have foliage turning colors. :)
Ouch, Eva! I don't know how you ladies can manage high heels, especially the reeeally thin heels. Surely it's just not good sense to take your entire body weight and balance it on a toothpick, right?
Eva your wedding is sounding so pretty.
NB I don't wear heels but when I have I can run well in them
NB -- i can get away with heels becaus ei sit at a desk all day. anytime i KNOW i will be on my feet, i wear flats or very low heels. i made a point to wear flats to work yesterday + throw my heels on for the reception -- but my feet were hurting before i even got there! and i couldnt exactly kick my shoes off in the Senate, could i? wearing flip flops + flats today, i am.
if I could, I'd run around in bare feet ;)
thanks, herin. i have a vision for things, so im just hoping it all comes together the way im picturing it. :)
heh, im usually barefoot under my desk. ;)
i'd love to be able to wear high heels but fatness and age are against me
i could go barfoot - I'd kill everyone with the smell
i was absolutely hobbling by the end of the night. i made them catch a cab back to the car instead of the metro because i wasnt sure i could walk that far...lol
NB I used to dance bare foot in clubs gave the manager kiniptions
i thoroughly plan to be dancing barefoot at my wedding! ;)
awwww
i plan on wearing heels for the ceremony + photos, then i will be sporting either flats or bare feet for most of the rest of the night, im sure. :)
I think I spent the entire Reading Festival barefoot. After two hours there you can't find anything - your shoes, your tent, the bands. NOTHING.
NB or yourself :D
oh man, i almost forgot that i need to tell my coworker that he cant bring a date to our wedding. guy RSVPed for 2 people, even though the invitation was addressed only to him. do people really not know these things?
Oh, I found "myself" alright ;) I think I spent about forty-five minutes just waving my fingers in front of my face. Good times!
that's pretty rude of him, Eva! awkward situation to put you in..
Hi all, Eva, I do think people really do not know these things, because often invites are for you and a guest, he most likely did misunderstand.
snort NB
whats strange, is that im pretty sure the guest he wants to bring is his ex-GF. they technically broke up, but youd never know it, as they still do everything together. but either way, unfortunately, we cant accommodate her.
Beats staring at the tap wondering why there are men dancing out of it
Eva. How well do you know said Coworker?
i would never assume i am allowed to bring a guest if an invitation is addressed solely to me. i *may* ask if im not sure, but i would never just assume.
herin, hes a nice guy. a little clueless sometimes (hence the misunderstanding, im sure).
remember though he is a man, and things like invitations are not really their forte. their GF probably would get it right away.
Beats standing in the same spot for half an hour, waiting for the "hedgehog" in front of me to pass me by. The "hedgehog" was, in fact, a pine cone. ;)
lol NB
well, i assume the ex knows he RSVPed to inclue her, and she is an event planner -- so she of all people should know better...heh
He probably did not show her the invite...
Eva if it was me it would depend on the relationship. If it was for Bob plus random girlfriend of the month then it would be just for Bob but if it was for Bob and long term g.f then I would do both
lol! you'd think. oooh, it's getting so close now!
this is basically coworker plus EXgirlfriend. i like him, and ive met her and shes ok, but even when i thought they were still together, i wasnt putting her on the guest list, as we simply dont have the space or the money. i already have a list of people that i plan to invite, if we get enough "no" responses.
Eva see to me it would depend on length of relationship. My friends wife was horrified that the invites said to B and no G.f considering I am like B's wife
well, they were together for a long time. but i have only met/interacted with her a very few times. and they arent even together!! i invited our whole group of coworkers, and only the married ones have their SO's invited. we simply dont have the space. right now, if everyone we actually invited says yes, we are technically over capacity. we literally dont have the room for people we didnt invite. and frankly, im not too interested in having people at my wedding who i barely know, when im already unable to invite people i actually WANT there...
That is the way I see it too.
ideally, id love to be able to invite her, since clearly he wants her there, but frankly, we just cant. im sure he will understand when i tell him about the misunderstanding, it just stinks that i have to say anything at all. oh well -- if this is the worst thing i have to deal with, i count myself lucky. :)
you must be strong and tell him that he cant bring her. its quite rude to assume that you can bring someone - we were numbered restricted both by the registry office and the room for the reception but i did invite some people after the buffet so they could have a drink and slice of cake - our wedding was nice and cheap - but looked lovely
fireworks for me - yippee can go back to trying to do some housework - have bruised ribs as well as bad leg
Aloha, oxygen breathers!
HI Judi
hi Judi
hola!
Blub, blub, blub...?
You're still breathing oxygen, even if you have gills.
Well done, Kazzer! Sorry to hear about your leg and ribs, though :(
Ouch Kazz
Touche, Judi. =P
I bet there's a lot of plants who were really hurt by what Judi said though ;)
leg is usual run of the mill stuff - get cellulitis about2 or 3 times a year - own fault for not looking after legs - skin too dry and too fat - also been nursing it for 3 weeks or so.
KAZZ tsk tsk look after yourself
off now see you tomorrow evening if you're about
good luck with the puzzle
(((snuggles in beside NB)))
If we didn't breath oxygen, all the plants would be dead.
the cats beat you to it, Eva ;) I still can't believe your wedding is so close now, though. I'm so excited!!
(((snuggles the kitties AND nb)))
94 days away! theknot.com likes to remind me of that every time i check the site. ;)
awwwwwwww Eva. I am super excited for ou
opps yous
LOL! I have to rely on a calendar to count down to my next big event. There is nothing more satisfying than crossing the days off. And by satisfying, I mean 'terrifying' ;)
still so much left to do. making lists left and right!
I hear that. Speaking of which, I should probably go to work ;)
I should go to bed
Later, all :)
Later Nancy
awwww..... give the kitties one last good scratch behind the ears + beneath the chin for me!
eva, i just got married two months ago...you will get through it and it will all be worth it

Nighe herin
Time for me to go back to work.
Morning all
mornin Mr Bob. methinks the chog got quiet. :)
BBL - work intrudes.
hi all.. i guess i'm new..
gm kris
so what's up with this game? other than figuring out words that is..
Hi Kris, and welcome
this game involves two important things:
The chog seems a bit quiet today
finding all the words in the board and asking for help on some.. and the chat log with wonderful people
ahhhh
go to lickety's list below to get a clue list and read help above to help understand this game
well, i like word games as much as the next guy.. but unfortunately i'm not the best at them..
it is very addicting.
This is a good place to learn unusual words... ;-)
and meet unusual people..lol
lol
good morning all
unusual people are usually the best though
what the hell does "sorn" mean?
true 'dat
unusual people, ruru? who EVER could you be speaking of??
click on the question mark next to the word in your word list...
like I said, unusual words
we also don't put words that are in the grid in the chat log Kris
interesting..
sorry..
that is a no no..
because pini hadn't found sorn yet..lol
yeah, that's right, ru!!! LOL
im sure you will pick up the rules (and the "rules") quickly. we are a fun group, and most of us are nice. :)
sorry sorry
<---- always nice, pleasant and polite
no need to apologize. we wont throttle you until tomorrow. :)
we all do time in the Penalty Box.... it is well equipped
Morning/afternoon all and welcome Kris
Hi FM
g'da ally
EvaN, you should email spritey with the date of your wedding we we can having a wedding day theme that day.
oops that was supposed to say G'day all
haha
ahh, true... thought it may be best for the theme to be before the wedding, so i actually get to see it. ;)
uh FM ... not yet I haven't found the shoes I want to wear that day
*pokes ruru*
i'm at work .. so i'll prob be a bit slow anyways
*hey!*
:P
LOL ruru, with those legs a nice high pair of stilettos should do it ;)
doh missed the 'suble' reference there too.
the straps cut my ankles FM.. no go
suble?
'subtle' Can't you read FMtyponese after all these years?
*wonders how women ever ambulate around in those things to begin with?*
oh my suble reference you mean?
lol
brb
So EvaN will you email sprite so we can all join in?
if I wore those things, I might really get nosebleeds!!!
or is the date secret?
Hey Pini!
hiya FM ;)
Nice to see you.
likewise! (I'm on "staycation" this week...nice to be able to babble in the middle of the day)
hah, no, not secret. october 23. i will send a message to sprite. :)
time off is always great, hope the sun is shining where yo are Pini.
yay EvaN!
back for a minute- can anyone help me with the yt word
just gotta decide which day i wanna celebrate on. ;)
i was wondering about that yt word too..
It's been nice (weather-wise)...thankfully...spending this week with my GD
Oh it has to be the 23 but you could get her to put an earlier date in too so we can have a hen party :)
10/23 is a my puppy's bday! :)
and I will make sure the cabanan boys are fully staffing the PB.
oh, yes...bachelorette party before that date!
I'm up for a party - we MUST have cabana boys
ooh, can i have that now? would make planning the wedding MUCH more relaxing. ;)
ROFL!
River, have been keeping up with events in your life, so glad things are looking so well for yr son.
hi river yt + similar to three things with the last vowel changed
No EvaN, I doubt you would get any work done at all!
thanks FM
a very obscure chemical
thankfully, things at work are slow, leaving me plenty of time to research wedding stuff. ;)
what does it mean when it has this "ad4,5" next to the word?
river just checked your profile - good news about your son!
4 letter word worth 5 points
kris: that is a clue. the word begins with AD, is 4 letters long, and worth 5 points.
right
4 letter word, starting with AD, worth 5 points
got it
beginns with ad has 4 letters for 5 points. read the help.
gosh, I'm slow today
yes thanks daykat
HAVe a read of the help section Kris as the point increase and the number of letters increase.
i.e a 5 letter word the points double etc
RIVER!
for 4-letter words, just add up the numbers on the tiles. for 5-letter words, add up the numbers on the tiles and multiply by 2. for 6-letter words, add up the numbers on the tiles and multiply by 3... and so on...
((FM))
thats for the clue daykat - that was fireworks
*thanks
good for you river
PINI
((crossy)) good morning, hope it is going well.
no...
so far,so good;)
and we are all alive and kicking so it must be a good day :)
haha, being alive is always a good thing
upright and taking fluids is the way to go:0
now,if the lottery would just co-operate,i could get this annoying work thing off my schedule...
have I ever told you guys I HATE k words
lol no harm in dreaming
if you cannot dream, you may as well be dead
crossy, i cuncur!
concur*
wow.. crossy.. there's a t-shirt
lol
Must 'poof' for a while, things to do before 5.30. TTFN and Happy Babbling.
N words are much worse today ruru
I think just the n's in the corner..
what to do for lunch... definitely NOT getting a salad today...i am still scarred from the other day.
must get back to work *SIGH* have fun all
I have left over veal parm for lunch - yum
to boldly go where dreaming goes, never follow a path, that,s what everyone does.start a path and you become an explorer:)
bye bye *waving while sniffling*
mmm..veal
could someone clue th di 8?
I want to list after that
when my desk is a mess - is is in di8
thank you river
<--- can list now
yw - Poof
ty riverdance
my desk is like the Bermuda triangle, anything that comes into it,s radius of influence can often vanish without a trace;/
hints for the A on the right of the W?
or for the bottom-row i?
ir/6 - pressed
unpoof briefly - at6 - to get
a steel-like metal
a entrance to a home (large) eva is the at 5
the other at6 is to gain or hold or get
Achieve or gain is the at 6
*repoof*
got the AT6, thanks. those i words come from the upper i, though...
the first ir4 is from the bottom i
ah - in + 2 vowels
It means of or concerning the other ir 4
Sorry - the second ir 4
ok so i read the objective and it says you have to find words in the puzzle.. all the letters have to be connected, correct?
ir + mr. Freuds conclusion
yes kris
TY ruru, that did it for me. :)
ty ruru
i had to ask b/c it didn't say that little important detail.. and here i was just typing in random words..
the letters in a word must connect either up/down/diagonally in order
(sideways, too)
sorry if the neophyte is bothering..
hello all - back for 47 - quite a tough grid this one
what? where?
no worries, kris...never be afraid to ask! ;)
can I have a clue for tu6/21 please
hi ursh
the only silly question is the one that is never asked;)
"person" the tu4
tu6/21 is the person who actually does the tu4/5
or another word for pancake flipper (tu****)
ty - got it! just couldnt see it
Spatula! Just kidding. Fireworks!
* giggle *
wtg Judi
congrats on finishing!
gotta git for a bit...happy babbling!!!
5 to go
I'm off to bed - past midnight here- cheers all, happy babbling

im still having flashbacks from 77 so im good to go
golly gee cross! *eyes goggle* you know, I never went to any sort of concert...
so I can't use concerts to explain my lapses...
the best concerts i ever went to are the ones i cannot remember,i bring it up on you tube and its like "OMG!! thats me crowd surfing!!"
*grin* must have been some concert, then... but why go if you can't remember????
lololol
you end up with other friends filling in snippets of details, like the name of that girl thats in the kitchen making breakfast and where all those stiches came from
you make it sound so ... um "glamorous?"

sorry forgot to move cursor
ty jacq,i always liked your clues best:)
slips into pb
almost halfway, then will finish reviewing the studies I have been reading for this paper. I talked to Mother and finally have a couple ideas how to proceed.
aww ty crossy
I HATE it when it's the day before a paper is due and suddenly all the research I have done seems useless *shakes head*
Clue for the na6,18 please, the one after the low point.
hugs mama, you work hard at these papers and at your research, you need to have more faith in yourself
thanks for the low point wht!
the na 6/18 looks like a gunpowder chemical
google the subject form about 200 sources, include them all in your reference page and give s synopsis to make it look like you were grinding away at it for week and the proff will pass you just so he does not have to spend 3 hours backtracking the references lol
na + negatively charged atomic particle elec****
ty stid. Where do they get these words????? Oh, and fireworks.
ty mama
wtg wht!!
LOL cross! I don't have to do that to get a paper done... my conundrum is that I really enjoy this class and the topic I have chosen. Also, the teacher is WONDERFUL, and I wouldn't insult his intelligence that way.
YAY wht!!!
lol,was just a thought
so I want to write a good paper, that is professional quality and that will give me some good foundation for further, independent research.
then get off babble, lock yourself in a room with no distractions and get rolling
*sigh* yes sir. *shuffles feet morosely* I am down to 58 now anyway, so have had my "fun". *sigh* *heavy sigh*
babble is break time, which is ironic considering how frustrating it can be at times lol
awww..;(
*poof*
now i feel bad;/
lol poor crossy
ill just babble a bit till the feeling passes;)))
holy crap a lot of things happened while i was spraying shirts
time is fluid in babble kris,i a half hours worth of chog.ive seen injuries diagnosed and treated, advice given,3 marriages saved,1 lost, and we almost cured cancer once lol
If jmc weren't in Africa right now, we could probably work out world peace as well.
indeed
has something to do with chocolate as i recall
give everyone chocolate to increase endorphins?
I am willing to give it a try.
if done right everyone ends up having sex and forgets what the argument was about

hello friends, looking for support for my writing process...
writing process? go on, Stid? :)
I am totally spinning my wheels writing this paper, and I hate the feeling!
Nancy Boy!!!! (((Hugs))) GREAT icon!
(((Stid))) thanks, same to you - lovely looking family!
okay, I am writing a paper about using student self-assessments as a tool to help them engage with their own learning as well as to help the teacher understand students strengths and needs.
:-D yep. my menfolk aren't too hard on the eyes... LOL
LOL. We have that in common. As for the paper, have you done a really thorough plan to make sure you know what you wanna say?
Anyway, I am getting bogged down trying to pull all the studies I have read together, narrowing it down without being too narrow, and somehow including the connection between literacy skills (reading, writing, thinking) and assessment practices.
That's the problem. I thought I had one, but as I am going over it this morning (paper is due tomorrow) I am not seeing it pull together the way papers usually do at this point in the process.
Urgh, well it may be deadline anxiety, if you're susceptible to that - otherwise, the only thing I can recommend is giving your mind a break before going back to your plan and looking for links between your points...helped me through many a history essay. Alexander II eat your heart out.
LOL (((Nancy Boy))) thanks. I think it is in fact partly deadline anxiety. Good call! *smile* I'll breathe deeply, get a few words now and then go back to work.
how are you doing today, kiddo?
oooh. Y tile grey!
Good to hear it ;) and I'm not too bad, thanks - ankle playing up a little, and could -definitely- do with a little sleep, but otherwise, I am grand!
*stern mama look at ankle* from your table dancing??? *ice pack, anti-inflammatory meds, foot stool to elevate ankle, choclit*
Hello, NB and stidmama. Just passing through for a few more words and thinking soothing vibes for you, stidmama.
And ankle-healing vibes for NB, apparently, too!
hey Vi!
thanks for the soothing vibes, they're working already!
top row grey
Hi, Vi! And thanks :)
how are you Vi?
stidmama, I'm sure you won't want to be bothered with it now, but some time when you have nothing better to do (ha!) I thought you might be interested in my new blog I just started. It's on block printing and juvenile fantasy.
whoops, back in a sec...
YES! please! I am putting it in my automatic reader so I will get all your posts automatically!!!
got it! :-D Now I can read it any time I have a few minutes.
okay back.
down to 40 words. I think I will take an eyeball break and then revisit the paper. Again. *sigh* (((Hugs for Vi and NB)))
back in about 40 minutes... *poof*
Cool, thanks! =D Feel free to give me any ideas from your education expertise!
good luck, Stid! Hopefully a fresh look will help :)
Good luck with the paper! It'll all come clear eventually.
LOL thanks for the compliment Vi! and the support both! *repoof*
Well, NB, looks like it's just you and me. Are you going to be dancing on tables again? Because if so I'll lay down mats or something.
LOL, Vi! No dancing on tables for me for a while - it doesn't quite look as good on a busted ankle ;) The only dance you can really do with one sprained ankle is the chicken dance...and that ain't my style ;)
lol. Well, maybe it takes a busted ankle to keep you from ending with a busted neck. But no one deserves to be limited to the chicken dance.
'tis a fate worse than death to be limited to dances named after birds. As long as the ankle heals up before my trip though, I'm not going to jinx it by complaining!
Trip? Whither? And maybe you can work on the Dying Swan Dance from the ballet Swan Lake. Just for variety.
Oh, to South Korea - figured it might be time to tell my family that I'm actually alive! As for the dying swan...I'm not sure if I quite have the grace for that one. I'll leave it to you ;) how are you, anyway? haven't seen you around here in ages!
Ooh, big trip. I hope it's a good one. How immanent? I'm fine, thanks. I'm always fine, which means I have nothing to contribute to the chog! ;) I've just been lurking more lately.
Scarily imminent - only 30 days away! It was a birthday present from my friends; I was sooo touched! Good to hear you're alright - I'm sure being fine and contributing nothing to the chog is better than whining away, as is my style ;)
you're going to have a great time nance
Hello, wildcat. Wow, what an amazing birthday gift! But 30 days is still plenty of time. Plenty of time to prepare, and plenty of time to stress out.
Oh, hi Wild! Well, either my family will or won't accept me - honestly, my expectations aren't that high, but I'm related to them and they deserve to know I'm alive ;)
maybe they'll just be so happy to see you that the rest of it won't matter
evening everyone, gardening chores done, time to babble!!
either way enjoy your trip
I am doing both in abundance, Vic ;) preparing by re-learning Korean as fast as possible...
They may not be monolithic, NB. Maybe some will not be accepting, but others will. And you're right, they all deserve to get the chance.
Hello, Katie.
Thanks, Wild! Sure I will; haven't seen them in about three years, so desperately looking forward to being around them again...
they'd better be good to you or they'll have all of us to deal with!
*mutters* "chores done," she says... what sort of strange thing is this?
That's what I'm hoping, Vic ;) and Wild...LOL!
clue for the at6, plz?

I'll bbl too -- errands, and then a swim in the sea -- lovely day here.
jealous here, it's rained since 11pm last night
and it's cold enough to put the heating on, the lights have been on since 6 and it's just miserable
nice summertime
We had a very chilly June and early July -- it's just warmed up recently.
you have my sympathy, jacq!
it's been a terrible year for weather, so wet and cool and it makes the winters feel so much longer when there is little sun in the summer
that sounds all too familiar, jacq
it's warm down here with very little rain jacq
Where in Scotland are you, jacq?
we went to have a look at the spey today after all the rain and it's gone from a placid mirror to a torrent with trees heading to the sea
north east scotland, buckie to be precise
Thanks -- your profile just says you're "from Scotland in Scotland", lol!
the history of this area kinda makes it moray in moray, in the early days of scotland and the clan system the wild men of moray wouldn;t allow themselves to be ruled by any king and lord knows scotland had enough of them in those days
oops scotland in scotland i meant
My maiden name is Murray, jacq (of Atholl) ;-)
gandparents from Aberdeen
perthshire and aberdeen
interesting roots
pini's grandmother is also a Murray of Atholl from Aberdeen!
wow
i am glasgow originally, moved to buckie when i was about 6
but we don't know of any real connection.
took me a long time to forgive my parents for that lol
there will be a connection, you can find a record of births etc in perthshire online, if i find it again i will send you the link
Buckie looks as if it would be lovely on my Bartholomew's Road Atlas, vintage 1968.
buckie has an interesting history, not as old as atholl, dating back to 16th century and based on fishing of course
but around here there have been findings dating back to iron age
I've never been to Scotland :-(
Darnit, must go and do those things -- keep warm, jacq!
Bfn all!
bye jilli, take care
35 to go and need a coffee, brb
does anyone have a clue for the single top a pls?
up, up, and aw**
ugh...ty
aaaaaaarrrgghhhh!! older parents and technology should never mix
hello all
just passing through for a sec
heya m9
hi jac
what a cute pic rolin!!!!
hello m! hey jac! hey all!!!
CH!!!! ((((hugs)))) how are YOU?
{{ hugs }} to you stidmama! Staying cool since the heat wave passed a couple weeks ago.
But compared to the rest of the US, we are blessed here in the NW!
good for you! we're doing the same. I am working on a paper this afternoon. It started to come together, so I am taking a few minutes to babble a bit.
yes, I am SO grateful to be in a cool, rather than an over-hot place!
When do you graduate?
but I do worry about the people who are in the hot areas.
IF I make it through, I will be done next June. If I don't, I get a break sooner!
You know you have all your Babble family rooting for you, so no worries :)
thanks ch. :-D
welconme back mama
hello ch
mama, i already said that you should have more faith in yourself
hi jacq! I was reading your earlier discussion. I'm half Scots, half Irish. Have the Irish part traced back to 1610, but the Scots side still working on. We're Campbell, MacFarland, and McKim.
i have no idea about my roots ch, my mums family are from ireland, my dads family are a mixture of travellers and housedwellers
Most emigrated to Canada, but I think some still live in Scotland. It's fun to research.
hi everyone
Hi Tea! Jacq, I really like that expression: 'travellers and housedwellers' -- yes!
hey tea! sorry all, they're falling a tree next door, and it came down rather suddenly so I had to go investigate
I know travellers, what does housedweller mean, jac?
ahh... no one hurt, I hope?
no, but from the overheard conversation, "we'll just tell them we thought it should come down" I think this one was not part of the plan...
still, nothing damaged, no one harmed. trees, like hair, grow back.
oh dear
people who live in houses, can't remember the travellers names for them
whoops
Mom's side of the family continued the traveller tradition, and many became carnies here in the US.
okay jac. LOL as opposed to people who live in caravans and tents, like travellers. *facepalm* sometimes it really IS an obvious answer!
{ giggling, realizing I read it the same way, stid! }
i have family who are carnies, some who just travel and others who settled down, but i know nothing about them as my dad was ostracised by them
but my mum is starting to trace her roots through gorbals reunited
Well, jacq, we're probably all related here on Babble. Someone posited that before, and I am certain it's true. If not biologically, then in spirit!
there is a theory that we are only 6 people away from knowing everyone in the world
well, down to 30 words. still listless. And the headache medicine is starting to work. Will go play with that paper some more. *sigh* though I would rather hear about interesting genealogical puzzles...
*Poof*
{hugs}
Done! Before I head to the post office, any clues needed?
wtg ch!!!! i finally greyed one column lol
and one row too now!!!
Happy babbling, all! *poof*
Hello...

I'm trying... :-)
when i was looking after my mother in law i would run out of milk or bread, just to get out of the house
or have a friend call asking for a hand with something
I'm into quiet time, and he sleeps a lot, so we're good...
thats good (((jellen)))

oops missed TO - shucks
is anyone there?
anyone at all?
its scary all alone.....
*teeth chattering*
Hi, River...just got back...
whew - Hi Jellen - how are you
Hello all. You are not alone, Riverdance. Hi Jellen.
Hiya Scrabbler
Watched the first episode of Pushing Daisies...
hi river, scrabbler, jellen
Hi, Scrabbler!
Hi, Natasha!
I never heard the details of your son's procedure--I was on vacation.
Jellen - just saw you on FB - I am so confused now on who is who = need to keep a list
Hi natasha
Hello Natasha
Yes, RD, it is very challenging to remember Babbler's actual names.
Hi everyone. I needed to wash the salt off my hands from eating nuts. Now, to focus and find words. Do we have actual names?
Hi Stidgmere
Hi, stidgmere
hi stidgmere
Hi scrabbler. We have a bunny in the next yard, sitting in the shade and looking like a small bush.
I put some in my profile - 10hours of EP study at Dartmouth then 10 days later - continued procedure in Boston at Childrens - radio frequency and kryo to the accessory pathway found in a diverticulum near the coronary arteries - Success - for now anyway - EKG normal for first time - repeat next week
hi folks - i'm here and also working on my Italian "homework" - so in and out - how's everyone?
A wild bunny?
Hi Jellen and Natasha. We have some sunshine today and all is quiet. Yes, a wild bunny. We don't have a dog any more so the wild life comes by.
Hi, JBV...I'm okay...
that sounds like progress, River - sending you good wishes
Hello Stidgmere
Wow, RD, a long process for your son + family. How is he feeling?
Buona sera, JBV.
Stidmama was telling me about your son. We are both cheering you on.
he feels great and ready to get on with his life - we need to make sure it is OK - if EKG is negative WPW next week, he will be able to resume his normal activities - fingers crossed
scrabs! I thought you might be interested in my new adventure - see my profile for the background story if you don't know, then I'll tell you the latest
thank you stidgmere
The real blessing is that contemporary medicine can diagnose + repair these dysrhythmia problems.
Dartmouth had never seen this before but Boston had - Boston is very optimistic they fixed it and if not, they know exactly where to go. Too close to the coronary arteries so had to use kryo - never an absolute like the radio is.
and yes it is amazing what they can do these days
We had the Chief Electrophysiologist and his partner do the procedure - also teaches at Harvard Medical Center - how lucky can we be!
Stupendo, JBV! I want to join you! I have studied Italian off + on x 30 yrs, first to speak with my mother's parents (never learned English despite arriving from Italy in 1912) and more recently to be ready for a trip. I have relatives in Sicily too--4 of my GF's sibs stayed there. Gualtieri Sicamina.
Your son received the best of care available!
wouldnt that be a riot if you gals can go together
That is wonderful River, that he was able to get such care!
Someday I want to go with cousins + my 2 sisters.
are you planning a trip? I have no immediate plans but I have a burning desire to see them again
"Someday"--which should be sooner rather than later. I need to save money. A to4 group would be easiest but we would want to wander away to visit the villages where our grandparents grew up.
And the Sicilian dialect is quite different. Actually there are, I believe I have read, over 140 dialects across Italy.
Scrabs, my brother& family rented a villa, a car, and did everything on their own, except when they went to the town, they hired a translator for the day, since he doesn't speak a word of Italian!
i mean my brother doesn't speak italian :)
Great idea, JBV! Hiring a translator!
they would not have been able to do it without him
It is horrible to laugh but one of the contestants on Jeopardy now speaks like Elmer Fudd.
I just saw that here, Scrabs (on at 7:00) - poor girl!
Goodness gwacious!
I wonder if she has a hearing impairment.
Scrabs, I know you like outdoor sports - do you ski?
XC skiing
one of my cousins lives near Torino at the foot of the Alps - I'm dreaming of a trip there, have never been
hi all how's everyone?
we started with emails, have now graduated to Skype! - this is so amazing, we are catching up on 40 years of family stories
That is REAL skiing. One of my cousin's lived in Zurich for 3 yrs around '90 and says all other ski resorts pale in comparison.
Hi AK
oh, be back in a few - duty calls
i am in need of an N word coming from the N in the 2nd column for NBT please and thank you

Hi Owl!

I don't like this grid either!

Don't know if you know about Tim's situation, though...Take a peek at my profile if you're interested...
i am in a bad mood. bad day. even being glad i have a job isn't working tonight.
i did read thru jellen. if there is any info or help u need just sing out. i have been managing clinical trials for a very long time

Owl, I have been cranky with a migraine all afternoon + will go to bed soon.
anytime
Great book, Jellen
the heat nearly killed me today, we had a benefit bbq lunch at the other end of the blacktopped compound. i got sick on the way back and had to seek air conditioning
must be mindful of the heat TO, can sneak up on you
Yuck, Owl--not good to have it outdoors. Well, someone could cook and then have lunch inside
Jellen, TY for updates. What did MRI of spine show?
Nothing! Hooray!
hello babble friends.
hello babble friends.
great news
I don't do heat. It just makes me have all the power of a wet spaghetti. You have my sympathy.
Hi tri.
But we didn't find out from doctor, found out from a nurse...
hello
why if it isn't the fish pond cleaner!
Hi, Trif!
Hi Trif! How did you do after getting out of bed ts morning?
Good news, J
knitter, you crack me up! You have been both a boy scout AND a girl scout? DO TELL!!!
hello scrabbler. just fine. Kicked ass today, in fact.
and just what is so funny about that missy??
I've been a girl scout and a boy scout leader (an Explorer Troop)
lol
good news jell. hello trif.
Wow, Jellen
been a girl scout and a girl scout leader. boy scout leader, explorer scout leader and as a kid i was a boy scout! and explorer scout
hello TO. yes, jellen, delighted to hear your good news!
AK, I am so envious!
so there phhhht to you EB
sorry, that last one, knitter? you were a boy scout? how did I not know THAT?
hmmmm i have to keep a little mystery
actual first st elsewhere episode on now. that pilot was so cool1
Now the bunny is by my opened window and going lippity, lippity. It prefers grass to other greenery.
hello all! (((knitter))) (((scrabs))) (((trifioso))) {{{ALL}}}
hello Mother -- paper almost done. only a conclusion to go...
hey there stid!!!
hey TO!
Hello, stid!
oh, scrabbler, before I forget -- serious cute here this week. Indoor bunny at window, outdoor bunny in lawn!
A ha. A conclusion I can come to.
oh, that is uber-cute, trifioso!
hello stid amd stidge
and no one could find a camera with batteries. Typical
down to 30 earlier, not seeing anything so will list.
please -- are both the u words in the top left un- words?
Bunnies = cuteness!
Hi Stid
Trif, use your cell phone camera
bunnies? bunnies!
is the AD 5 fishy?
bunnies = cocoa pops
hello again Nancy Boy! ((hugs))
un5 = beneath
Hi, NB
NANCY!!!! hugs!
Yep, Trif--that is my life, picking up Cocoa Puffs that have not stayed in the litter boxes.
Hi NB
lol re the cocoa puffs. And thanks for the un, which I actually had. Do you have the other one?
hi, all :) Stid, how is that paper now?
never mind. un4
all but a conclusion, Nancy Boy -- and a reworking of the intro (which is always needed after the conclusion, for some reason...)
but needed a brain break.
how's the ankle? *stern mama look*
Good intros usually come last, in my experience...
Stid, you will understand: I have had a migraine for 2 days and I am annoyed about it
I don't get why "tonk" isn't an okay word. As in "honky tonk?"
I like to do lots of editing over a few days to get a final paper.
oh dear, scrabs *gentle hugs, cool washcloth, feverfew tea*
Oh good, Stid! Must be a relief to have it out of the way...:) the ankle is currently purple, navy and green. I dislike the combo.
I usually do, scrabs, and today was supposed to be my last look-through. but this morning I hated what I had and started over (not usually my practice)
I miss writing, sometimes...
oh oh... *looks at scrabs for advice* I suggested ice, anti-inflammatories and elevation earlier...
<---used to do technical writing on contract...
oh! got hte AD 5!
When did you injure your ankle, NB?
gee whiz, jellen! that must have been interesting as all-get-out!
care to share the AD word?
that sounds awful, Scrabbs. Only when a migraine strikes do you realise that the brain is the true centre of the body - completely incapacitating...
oh, on my birthday, Scrabbs - the 11th :)
It was challenging...my employer was a grant-writer...I did literature reviews, for the most part...
*worried mama look*
Please do, stid!
hi folks
Hi, welki!
I need more practice doing surveys of the lit, I am not comfortable with my ability to adequately summarize research. *sigh* but right now I don't have time or energy to practice more.
how can you be nu5? either you are or you're not :)
ad + first letter in english anno + Thanks Alot (sorry for grammar)
hey welki!
NB, use a canvas brace, for months, to keep your ankle stable and prevent reinjury. Apply heat 3 times daily. Elevate whenever possible. Do exercises: stand up and go up + down on toes; pretend your are holding pen between first 2 toes, writing the alphabet.
well, first I took off the top, welki, and then.... I was nu5!
Hi welki
i took off the top and people ran screaming!
Thanks, Scrabbs! Will do :) I have it elevated right now, but didn't know to use heat - have been icing it :/
LOL, Welki!
Hmmm...not getting the ad5 clue...
okay, I am nbt, over halfway, and blind tired. Off to bedfordshire with me! good night all
G'night, Trif
share ad 5 pls?
Oh, got it!
sweet dreams trifioso!
go jellen go!
I am now struggling with di 7
Use ice for first several days, to relieve inflammation. Then switch to heat
thanks. It was really nice to see so many familiar faces here. LOVE to all!
Sleep well, Trif!
ad + sometimes vowel + Brit short for thanks
I am struggling with that ad word and English anno <----
ty
TY, J
anno is latin for this calendrical measure *ear
di7?
I'm wondering why the nurses who saw my ankle didn't mention any of this to me. Then again, it could have gotten lost in my birthday "haze" - had such a bad hangover the next morning, sunglasses were required to open the fridge ;)
ty jell
hm. in many places in the U.S. they give you written instructions when you leave, Nancy Boy -- maybe in the future you can ask for that?
NOT that I am advocating you have medical emergencies...
OK, Stid, I am too brain dead right now
Well, with all this great onversation. I want to go start dinner. Enjoy the evening and take care of yourselves--Nancy Boy, that caution is for you!
sweet dreams Mother, will see you tomorrow when I pick up the stidkid!
LOL to both Stids ;) and thanks!
It's amazing what health care professionals don't tell you...(still grousing over doctor not giving MRI results)
Bye, stidgmere
gee whiz, jellen! that's not good...
He whisks in and out of appointments so fast questions just leave my mind...
down to 14, and still need two big Di words. (the 7 and the 8) assume the 8 is compounD?
For you, NB: http://www.anklebrace.info/swedeo/inne rlok.htm--this is the type of brace you need to wear for at least several months
ah, I think this nancy boy needs to get to bed. night, all, and thanks for the good advice! :)
Will come prepared with written list of questions next time...but truthfully, nurses are more informative...
do you have a list of questions written down when you go in jellen? I used to do that when the stidkid was very little and we had some kind of specialist at least once a week.
(thanks, Scrabbs!!)
sweet dreams Nancy Boy. *stern mama look* take care of yourself.
nurses are number 1 LOL
Jellen, the behavior + lack of interpersonal + communication skills by so many of my colleagues is just so embarrassing + anger-inducing!
true that, knitter!
present MD company excluded of course
TEN to go!
Nurses are great! You do everything, and a lot of tough work!
I sometimes wonder if we should try to switch doctors...is that kosher?
:)
and then there are the very many wonderful MDs who do their work patiently, professionally and perfectly... *pointed look at cousin*
YES. second opinions and different docs are completely acceptable if the doc you have isn't working for you.
It is tough to find the full package of smartiness + people skills + down-to-earthiness
jell it is ok to switch MD's however often if you just tell them to ...hey! slow down ... they will often thimes they are unawware
Within the same practice?
TY, Stid--I try very hard to be the kind of doctor that I would want to see.
Does Tim see a nurse practitioner?
we have patients do that. you can't like everyone and personalities just don't always click. the docs really don't mind they just want you to get good care (at least inour place)
I have a great GP, btw...of course, I've known him most of my life...
I would have LOVED to have had a ped like you scrabs... we fired two docs before we found the one we have now.
He sometimes sees a NP, yes...
I like him...
down to 7. have to get going. back later to finish (((Hugs all))) Jellen, my love to you and Tim. Scrabs, extra rations for the bunnies tonight! LOL *poof*
Ask the NP what is best to do.
Later, stid!
Bye Stid
bye stid
Good idea, Scrabbs!
And at 45/80 I need to go to bed. I want to wake up at 0600 WITHOUT a migraine.
jell you could speak to his nurse... he/she will be able to help
((Scrabbler))
Good night, kids!
if i type in the word tourist one more time i am going to scream
please i need clues for n7 & n 8

Go, welki!
at 5 a large entrance hall in a big house
at5 = a courtyard, I believe
2
(i am such a dork)
thank you
who's that?
Actually, it's plural
ahh, fireworks :)
I meant how are you a dork welki?
*looks around for evidence of dorkiness*
**still thinking
Wonderful, welki!!!
oh .. the words i needed were so fishy, all the cats in the neighborhood have assembled in front of my door looking for handouts

I think this is a DUH, but does anyone have the OU5/12?
di + vowel + a charged particle, an elec****
thank you :)
French word, meaning oveer the top, outrageous.
ou + uno, dos, ***s
ou + trick or ***at
hi river
Hi, Minski and Jac
Thanks River.
hi everyone
and welki
and Jac
Hi.
hi welki and jacula and magyk and minski and jellen again
*chewing nail - hope I didnt miss anyone*
hi jac
and min
yeah, what river said about missing anyone :)
Oh, it's Walton time again. LOL
Has Anniebrooke been in yet to pick up the chicken pie recipe from my bio? Ata's got the pea pod soup one.
chicken pie? looking...
River - it's great for using up leftover chicken.
that's funny .. we had chicken pie for supper this evening
If you don't want to make the herby pastry, you can use either shortcrust or puff pastry of the frozen kind.
But the parsley pastry isn't hard to make and can be frozen.
Welki - that same timing thing happened yestersay re a cream cheese and cucumber sandwich. LOL
*YesterDay, I meant.
just copied and pasted to my recipe folder - chicken pie is one of my favorites so will definately try it - more like fall type recipe - thanks jacula
y/w. River.
giving up for tonight...g'night
sure we can't help you finish, magyk?
Oh, okay, Magyk.
G'night, Magyk
made it to 55 and hit a brick wall
Recipe is mostly a spring one, River, if you discount the fresh mushrooms.
Hi, jes!
hi, jes
Hi jess.
Hi Jess - we can help
i'm not sure there is any help for me, riverdance ;)
I am not a big mushroom fan - like the flavor but not the texture - will put them in and pass then over at time of serving - lol
na6/18?
need na 5 12?
oh yeah - us babblers can always help
na + men never ask for ***ections.
Riveerr - you can leave them out of the recipe, you know. Just add peas and carrots or sweetcorn instead.
na5/12 = na + this award goes to the ***ector of this movie
minski! LOLOL ... I sure read that wrong!
and plural
Blimey, Minksi - you think so? LOL
how about the na6/18?
thats the way we usually make it with frozen peas and corn - left over carrots or whatever we have for left overs gets thrown in
men never ask for ... they just pop up!
they dont ask - they just do...lol - sorry men
na5/12 and plural 6 = the lowest point.
Wre just watch Coyote Ugly (film) again. It showed what base beasts mean can be in a crowd.
I have the NA5/12 & 6/21 and the NA5/14. I think there's another NA6. Does anyone have it?
na6 = na + dont forget to *u*n on the light + opp of off
dont know lowest point
I said as muuch to Beloved and he just laughed. I was WORRYING about that girl got taken off the bar and into the crowd.
Thanks again River. Wouldn't ahve found that one.
beloved??? lucky you - for me - rofl
gee i am still missing at 5 10. any clues?
mkg - lowest point na word is an anagram of what the thing outaside your house is that moves the water away when it rains.
at5 is an entry way
NA 5/12 & 6/21 = na + men never ask for ***ections. and then plural it.
at5/10 = either upper heart chambers or upper open floors.
River? No idea what you meant by that.
crossy pokes his head in to see if it is safe.....
happy that you have someone you consider beloved
and suddenly, the room went still
di8/50, if anyone wants to know, is chaos.
safe crossings
its my desk at work jacula
Ah, I see, River.

LOL, river, I've been known to do it, too.
Hi jellen! whooo hooooo Jellen!!

Thank you, thank you
wtg jellen :)
jellen, did you have the talk with Tim's Mom yet?
welki - mean are from Mars and we are from Venus.
*men, I meant to type.
sounds like a good title for a book
Although mean might be pertinentn at times.
mean mars, vicious venus
LOL, welki.
I have this book titled " How to be the almost Perfect Husband" like he has ever paid attention
River - write it! I'll read it and think of my ex.
just get a good dog obedience book and practice that on your male counterparts. it really does work!
beg, i say!
however, choke chains are frowned upon, even by dog owners
lbd is quite right. It does work, if you've got a young(er) specimen to work on.
No, but Tim broached the topic with her...She's not planning to come back for another couple of weeks...
whew, at least a 2 week reprieve
Later response...was updating my profile...
crossy tip toes into the grid, before the men bashing gets to heavey....
No, choke chains are too controllimg.
Er...late
g'night folks
here is a quote " when she looks in the mirror and howls at the rate at which gravity is reshaping her jaw line dont offer to buy her a face lift. All she needs to hear is "honey, I love your face"
night night, welki
Crossy - I love men! Especially those I can dominate (when they want me to).
G'night, welki
ut oh .. you have a jaw line?
lol, Jac
Jellen - glad you got that.
(i should never read chat after i'm supposed to leave *lol*)
lol, welki. it's hard to ignore!
SWelki - probably you should not.
thanks welki - I needed that
This is a famil site - no sex or titillatin allowed! So b*gger off, you lot.
jaw line, waistline... what are those?
I will also retire to my boudoir now.
*smirks*
here is one "every now and then cook dinner for your wife (rolf) getting taken out for dinner is nice, but so is staying home and being pampered with a meal (rather go out)
G'night, Jacula
wife cornered me the other day and cussed me out for all the rotten presents she has gotten from me of late, she said"for my birthday there had better be something in the driveway with a bow on it that can go from 0-220!"..i got her a bathroom scale....
night, jac
'Night Jellen.
Groan, crossy...say it isn't so!!
you like to live dangerously, crossy
Crossy - you need shooting!
my favorite "I'm not a foreign country to be conquered and dominated; I'm a path of endless variety to be explored and cherished"
Am really off to bed now, you mad people.
i do 90% of the cooking riverdance..she is spoiled rotten;)
hi all....
hi cathy
Hi, Cath!
howdy cathy
although i do most of the cooking, my hubz does cook, and he makes some delish one pot meals. he unfortunately also makes a huge mess! but i loves him so
ugh...and ugh again - I am up at 5:30a - off to work - home at 6p - husband home watching son - supper not though of - no chores done - nothing - ugh...and god forbid if I say something about it
married life is like a great big war between 2 countries that really do not understand each other, but there are no winners,no losers, just a unending series of small skirmishes and minor concessions:))
definitely get the dog obedience book river.
oh yes he made supper 2 nights last week - my eternal love shines for those 2 days out of 365
but i am very lucky with my lady;))
open communication! No mixed signals, and all is mostly right with the world. 22 years of marriage and the worst fight we ever had was shortly after we married. didn't talk to each other for about 8 hours
!!!!!FIREWORKS!!!!!
yaa for minski!!
whooooo hooooo MINSKI!!
you are both very luck indeed
whoohooo minski
and on that note...........goodnight alll............*poof*
Hey Minski = went to the top of the Pru last week - never did that before
yes,ibd..always talk with each other..never go to bed mad,and make each other laugh at least once per day,and a massage for each at least twice a week
night night, Minski
massage......??? *sigh*
ooh, must work on the massage part of that contract! easy to laugh here, we both do some incredibly silly things.
MINIMUM once per week
thatsabout $60 US for 1/2 hour
no,massage from your mate..not take out
I've had to sign in again, having read the chat to say, remember that spark of electricity that bounced between the two of you when you first ouched or kissed? If you do, and if it's still there, then keep on keeping on, despite what everyday life throws at you. There is always a 5 minute window to reconnect or more, if the kids go away.xxx
wow river, you need to come to MT, it's about 60/hour here, and at the massage clinic it's half the price
thanks jac - needed to hear that
i have basket of scented oils, some of those river rocks you warm up and a nice massager from obus-forme that really saves the hands
lb - my brother made it safely to billings - having loads of fun doing what I dont know
uh oh, and he didn't get arrested? glad he had a good time.
tell him to stay away from the reservations.
he road out on his motorcycle from New Hampshire - wife flew out a week later to stay a week - He is there for a blue knights conference - law enforcement motorcycle enthusiests
week to ride out - week to stay and week to ride home - yikes!
If you stay away from reservations.. how do you go out to eat at a restaurant?
oh, those guys are nuts! they know the law and how to just go up to the line! i bet he is having a hoot of a good time!
welcome ruru
This is Montana, RU, not many places take reservations!
well he is an old fart now with too many aches and pains but I'm and sure having a good time
Last time Beloved offered to massage me was with a massage head off some American vaccum cleaner his parent had bought 20 years ago for over £1,000. His Mum finds the cleaner to heavy to drag around now, as do I. Beloved tells me it is very good at shampooing carpets, so I'll leaave him to find that out. Ohm, yea, the massage, might be comforting if you are deaf. If not, you will be by the time it's over with the sound of jet engines in your ears. Not relaxing!
run her an oil bath, and while she is in there im warming various scented oils over candles and have a bowl of hot water with smooth river stones in it.when she comes out all pink as a lobster,i lay her on the bed and start with a gentle lavander oil for relaxation...
except for the hotel/motels most restaurants are first come first served...take a number and wait if it's peak dinner time.
lol jac
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
mrs crossy is one lucky lady!
we all need a crossy....crossy needs to write a how to book - big success

antique hunting, dc?
he's been asking to have it for 5 years. Mom's in hospital, so we took the time to find it today.
she had a laproscopic kidney stone removal -- minor procedure
Oh, sorry to hear she's in hospital.
we anticipate release tomorrow, Friday at the latest
ty, jilli :) she's doing alright, if still in pain from incision
Ouch, though, dc!
yes, though the staghorn stone that increased left kidney by 400% has been bothering her for 9 mos, so yes, ouch now, but she should be much better for it.
Healing thoughts on the way, dc...
Sounds right, dc.
thank you jellen :) calming energy for her welcome too. her name is Laurel in Woodbridge, VA for those that work best with such data.
What a pretty name!
back again
oddly, back in Cleveland she worked for the Cuyahoga County Courts, Juvenile Intake with another Laurel, both with initials at the time of LAS.
Just going for an evening stroll in my garden -- back very soon...

hi, TeaN
Hi folks, help needed for last one - then fireworks! It's a to5/10, the last one. I keep trying the yummy cake, but it's not allowed, even though angel's clues have it.
add vowel to to4 above it, dofuth
german pastry, that to5
well, French in that spelling
to5/12 is a round object, sounds like a ford car
Yay!!! Used the other t which got me to the e - and firworks!! Thanks, everyone!
congrats, dofith
grats, dofith
Viennese, isn't it?
Anyone need any clues?
Here we use an "a" at the end.
i learned the German word from my Czech/Hungarian ancestors, who came from Austria-Hungary, so probably, jilli
still got 34 left, so a bit early to start asking ;)
here, -a is a spanish or italian, -e is french, -en is german usually.
I'm sure you're right, dc ;)
hint for the di8, pls?
di7/32 please?
di8 "A sweet di8 in the dress/Kindles in clothes a wantonness..." (Robert Herrick)
di8 when something is messy it is in di8
dc, I just checked my German/English dictionary and the -e ending is there.
di7/32 please?
ty, shorty, i missed that third letter as between its neighbours.
cool, good to know, jilli :)
yw
di7 -- di + vowel + title of sort of robotic movie
Well, that explains it - our earliest and biggest group of migrants in the post-war years were Italian, so I guess that's why we use the "a" - I'm sure Aussie cuisine (if you can call it that! meat and 3 veg, all cooked to a pulp, as I remember!) didn't have anything so delicious before the migants came. Now, thankfully, we eat every nation's food.
i need that too please di7
di7 ends with computer/robotic movie
Sorry - poor grammar - "was" Italian.
got it thanks
ty
or di7 -- di + vowel + cons + young Mr Reagan
yes, dofith, "group.....was..." (let's not get into that again!)
wow, that ad5 was weird, but firewords nonetheless
YAY dc!!! (yes, it was!)
5 left, and that weird ad5 seems to be one of them... clue for it? thanks :)
my nephew wanted to stay up with me, but this game bores him enough he went to bed LOL
it goes up, jes, with a turn at letter three
ad5 -- ad + sometime vowel + brit thanks
wha? yeah, monkeys were ages from finding that.
Oh! Late yay for dc!!!
thanks, yall.
It's a sanctum sanctorum, I see
Wandered off to email my aunt, who had surgery for melanoma yesterday...
oh boy, jellen!
at6,18 related to the at5?
It's following me!
no, jes, but go and at6 your goals anyway
d'oh
Yay dc!
thanks, dc
at6 is no relation to the 5
oh, dear, jellen *hugs* so sorry to hear :(
en6,21?
how's she doing, jellen?
She's 85, and was a tennis coach for many years...probably never used sunscreen...
