BR, Whew! I was just thinking this morning that New York is turning into a semi-tropic zone. I was in the city last week and the heat was brutal. Luckily, I live 2 streets from the ocean so we usually have a breeze which we trade for harsh winds in the wintertime. If you go inland though it is quite hot. Today is not too bad tho. she is on steroids and antibiotics. there is one on the roof of her mouth which they say they won't be able to remove, but as long as it gets not bigger, she should be all right. apparently they recur and if you keep treating them with steroids the cat can develop thyroid and diabetes probs.

the vet found the first one on the roof of her mouth but didn't really know what it was. that was about two years ago. then last week i noticed some on her top lip and that'w when the vet gave me the diagnosis. no problems eating at the moment but i have to watch out for that, and if becomes a problem they say that there may not be much they can do.

Garlic is supposed to be good for chickens, but I haven't ever used it.

The other thing is people forget that animals and people are different and it is always best to speak to the vet.

We have some neighbors who just bought a house on our circle. The guy rides a motorcycle and he got an unneutered pit bull mix. He doesn't want to have it neutered [I guess it's a macho thing]. The other day it was running around loose with a chain link around its neck. Shudder

many people say chow chows are dangerous, but we've had 5 and not one of them has ever come even close to biting.....
it is not the breed, it is the owner and the training. I really think if this dog has tasted human flesh, it will have to be put down.

One of the reasons we got a Bichon is it's mild manner demeanor [and lack of shedding]. But, they need brushing, grooming and the males love to mark in the house [has been neutered since 6 months].

in Miami, when we just had Rosie and then Rufus, the groomer used to pick them up in his air-conditioned van every other week. They were fabulous. But here, nobody knows how to groom chows and they charge double

I'm watching my grandson tease my dog. He has an animal cracker (which the dog thinks he can get) and Ronny is trying to kiss the dog! :-D

I did not finish the grid even with the ai 4/5 of my monkeys who were a pain in the ne 4/9 when I sent for them. They always give me to 4/4 of grief. They were so sn4/4ty! They hi4/5ed and sn 5/10ed and sa 4/5 they did not want to help. I sa4/5 in a nasty to 4/4 "put a so 4/9 in it!" Then monkeys tried to hi4/6.When they could not hi 4/6, they pretended to be si 4/9. Monkeys drove me insa4/4 so I offered to pay my monkeys some ca 4/6 for their help. I found all of the easy words. They sc 4/5ed the grid and found the hard on 4/4 I hadn't se 4/4 before.But I just was not into grid today so I let my monkeys go back outsi4/5 and play in the tr5/10 I quit grid after making a small de 4/5 in it and went on 4/4 other things instead. Hubby and I got our oa 4/4 and went on a ca 5/12 trip on a river. When we got back we washed both of our ca 4/5. Then I went shopping. I bought ince5/12, some new di4/6es,a ra 4/9 of ribs, a tennis ra 6/33 & a te 4/4. Then I went to doctor and got new le 5/10s for my glasses. My sister's dh is away a lot so she feeds the kids and then eats later herself very often. Her kids have horrible table manners (not eating manners but how they act at the table) and you can't take them to a restaurant. They are horrible when you eat out.
