The foxes were climbing over our six foot fence, killing all the chooks and leaving , I hate them. now they cant get in
yes, we've lost lots of chooks over the years to b***** foxes, now the whole orchard is foxproof with 6 foot high fences and 'aprons'of wire under the fences and lock-up sheds

we have a lock up shed, but now we have the roof on I dont have to lock them in the shed every night - there is a large fox population here and they are horrible
they climb the wire fence, some say foxes can fly....
we have to thank the poms for that - bringing them here for sport. Really forward thinking
and the crows were stealing the eggs as well, now that problem is solved as well
too many introduced species (cane toads)
we have solved that problem by cutting a chook sized doorlet in the door of the shed - chooks can get in and out but crows cant get in
neither can our dogs - they love fresh eggs!
our crows used to go into the shed and into the dog kennel where they lay eggs , smart crows

our border collie did like the eggs as well , but sadly she is no longer.....
she had a really shiny coat
so do ours so I forgive them the occasional egg
sometimes when the chooks were lazy , they laid an egg in her kennel and she would take it out very carefully and break it open on the lawn. clever dog

Oh I'll use it all right. Told husband it was for both of us :-) My son has one and his little boy aged 2 uses it. He has some of his favourite films and so on on it and looks at them in the car.
Think it is wonderful technology.

Ok, I can see that. Also when away, saves carrying lots of physical books. I tend to put serialisations, plays, audiobooks on my iPhone for long journeys at the moment which I really enjoy.

I just invented a new drink (what to do with too many plums): it's called plum smush -- cooked plums, put through a fruit mill, sugar and vodka added and served over ice. It's a little bit thinck, but, then again, so am I!

I don't really have a recipe for the tart, hpb. I believe it's just phyllo dough placed in a buttered tart pan. Thinly sliced (or smushed) plums mixed with a teensy bit of sugar and lemon jucice. Bake until the philo is lightly browned. Place dots of goat cheese atop the fruit, then return to oven until the goat cheese melts. Remove and cool. Drizzle with honey, slice and serve warm.
