Vegetable - chicken stock, potatoes, onions and leeks sweated in butter with paprika, celery, pumpkin all blended together once coioked and served with a dollop of blue cheese and crusty French bread. Coming over? There's plenty.
Forgot also added some mushrooms and tomatoes. My kids always called this cleaning out the fridge soup.

Well I haven't long finished a late breakfast - croissants and apricot jam.

Sadly no. I have finished all my home-made apricot, and not made any this year, but we buy Bonne Maman which is lovely. Plenty of home-made marmalade left though! It would be a matter for divorce or murder if Other Half ran out of home-made marmalade I think:-)
hahah. Happily, husband likes Bonne Maman apricot, too; He eats it with his yoghurt in the AM. Our apricot tree died without ever producing one fruit; I think it's too cold here. The only homemade ones are red currants (I don't like cassis), blackberries and plums
Actually we eat so little jam it probably isn't worth making, although I do love apricot jam. Also love bramble jelly (made with blackberries if that doesn't translate!). I have not made so much jam in the last couple of years, but I do make vast quantities of marmalade in January when the Seville oranges are in.

I keep chickens as you know. I am very brave now and when I go into a butchers, or have a meal out, I always ask if the chicken is free range. If it isn't, I don't order it.

I told mum last night that this party these parents knew the kids were drinking. I told mum at 16 I would have been happy with the my kids having 2 cans of mixed alcohol and no more not the great amounts they were drinking. It frightned me that they could be so vulnerable to creeps.
one last rant and I will stop, grin... I really believe parents do their kids a disfavour by not insisting on manners, respect and courtesy. Those are great tools to have in life. And you can always decide to drop them for a bit if necessary. The other way around is not possible.
Sprite we don't want kids though but it is nice to see that values parents taught me are being taught to the next
yes, the alcohol intake is frightening nowaways, for kids. The school is wise about it. They allow beer and wine for the upper classes and keep it strictly separated from the younger kids. And even the upper classes have to be moderate.

I asked the students to "collect" multi-generation stories from their families... but a lot of the students a) didn't ask their folks for help (or tell them about the project at all) or b) the families are like mine and don't have stories that have come down through the generations.
SO... I am recording old folk tales on CD for the students to listen to so they can do the rest of the work for the storytelling unit.

Hi all. The more you play this game, the easier it gets. You learn all the Babblets and lots more. Putting the once weird words in first becomes the norm and you end up overlooking the easy words, so you last word found it often a stupid plural like 'lots'.

My decade of not being ready was over the sow death of a long marriage rather than the actual death of a partner, and my did I make some horrendous mistakes and kiss a few frogs on the way before I was ready to love again. As for a man I loved actually dying, well, it's been 7 years since my Dad died physically, after slowing dying from Altzheimer's for yeara. But a parent dying is not something you ever actually 'get over', I think.
