he has had a couple of very odd moment in the past month,repeats of behaviors from when we first got him and he was partially feral, where he has attacked, quite badly, seemingly out of nowhere. Then he seems to feel terribly embarassed, I was afraid it might be senile dementia. But I think it usually happens after he has killed something, and then gets a bit confused about what is prey and what not

I did mention it when he had his checkup, but the thing is that aside from those moments he's not agitated at all. That's what was so odd about them.
The other possibility is that there is some spot on his body that I accidentally touched that was bothering him. I havent been able to locate it, but you never know.
I once separated my cat from one he was fighting and he bit me severely. But I could see in his eyes he didn't see me at all, he was totally into the fighting mode. Never bit me before of after. Could be the same thing?
Yes it didn't feel like he was intentionally biting me at all. Just that something came over him, and then was done. I did terrify him after the last time, just to leave a really strong memory trace that this behavior is completely unacceptable.

I had an OTJ foot injury that meant no more hospital nursing for me (after 34 years in CV-ICU; the love of my life). I *thought* I'd found a perfect job in triage telephone nursing; but it was horrid! I was out job hunting again in 8 months, but didn't quit the triage job. I kept looking for CV nursing; but this job as Manager of a small prenatal clinic came up and I went for "interview practice" only! 3 More interviews with them and they offered me the job.

here's a particular problem. when i am most miserable at my job i am inclined to apply to other things. but when i am that miserable, i can't write a good cover letter. all i can think to say is "please somebody get me out of here"

hurshy, I got my last (and best) job by pretending to be an expert and asking everybody I knew in the field for chunks of their expertise.
I wrote an elaborate marketing study without ever having done any marketing!
I have now realised that the best job I've ever had was a housewife and mother. No-one to tell you what to do, or when to do it, and when the kids went to school it was great to have 'me-time' something I get very little of now.
my husband thinks that is what women do best, stay home and take care of their children
I had no choice but to go out into the horrible world of sales -- had to support a kid etc
It's ok if you have enough money to be able to stay at home. we really struggled for the first five or six years. At one stage we were tossing a coin to see which bill got paid, then my husbank bought home some work for me to do and that lead to a few odd jobs now and then which kept our heada above water.

The woman I was supposed to meet there (so I wouldn't be there alone) is not sure she can make it...not sure if I'm brave enough to go to a bar where I will know no one, except a member of the band...
I've never been to the bar, but the guy who does my lawn says it seems fairly nice...

my grandmother who is no longer alive used to make wonderful salads (didn't like to cook much either) -- she would soften raisins in water (very old-fashioned european thing to do) and add those and sesame seeds to a mixed greens base and then she made a vinaigrette. they were delish
also very quick to make and healthy
