Laura, just got back on - froze up. Logging in...

Hello JC -- dee just posted a list
all s's.
Good morning, m9!
Hi, Jill. OK, thank you. :)
Ooh. Quite pleased with myself for seeing the az5,22 and z4,10 right away. :)
J.C., are you familiar with the band the tiger lillies?
wtg JC!
very good JC!
Hi JC. :o)
Yes, Josh. Why do you ask?
Hi, lovely Laura. :)
just wondering. i have been listening to them this evening and enjoy them very much
hello again, back with vintage swimwear
Ah, I see. They're not really my cup of tea...
They are interesting, though.
love the caps flosey
Oh my goodness, flosey - how could anyone go swimming in that? They look very well dressed! :P
one would wonder, for sure
beachwear, perhaps, but swim!!
Beachwear? They look ready to go clubbing. :P
Or out to dinner...
indeed
A little overdressed for a beach...
but ladies had to be well covered in that era, didn't they?
Well yes. I laughed a while ago, seeing an old photo of a couple camping in that era - in not what we would consider casual clothing. Very well dressed - sitting on folding chairs in front of their tent.
they prbably had servants hiding in the bushes
wow, they went tenting back then?
Just noticed the zo4,9 also - word games pay off. ;)
lol jilli, guess they'd have to have them along
Apparently. And yes, Jill - wouldn't doubt it. :P
flosey, your laides are quite shocking -- showing ankles!
thanks jc, got it
my aunt was born in a tent. My dad's afamily lived in 2 tents for about 2 years on the beach in Tacoma, WA
yes, I thought so too jilli
And the ts5,12 was one of my earlier words, too.
wow, m9!
I don't even know what it means - just come across it in various word games.
wow m9, they must have been a bit chilly during the winter
Lived in tents, m9?! Wow.
ty for that ts, JC -- one of my favourites and I missed it
Couldn't even imagine that...
You're welcome, Jill...
ts5 x 2
the ts is the 18th letter of the Hebrew alphabet
oh, interesting
Ah...
Thank you flosey - got the other ts5. ;)
yup. gets damp in Tacoma. my grandfather, dad and uncle would take the row boat to school/work in the morning. Then after school, my dad and uncle would row back.. and when my grandfather got off work, he'd walk across the train tressel home.
How would anyone be able to conduct a normal life, living in a tent?
How did they bathe, do their wash, etc.?
Can't even imagine it...
in buckets.
they had an awning thing between the tents. cooked outside.
No thank you. Shudder.
my uncles first word was "boat". He became a well known marine architect
i guess my grandfather didn't believe in paying rent
I can't imagine living like that...
↠Spoilt.
yeah. he helped my parents build their first house...
would be a pretty brave woman who would marry him
my mother had 3 boys in like 5 or 6 years... with no running water.
Wow...
yup.
Hmmm. There's actually a word off that top row I? You are kidding me? :P
is4/5
but then.. my mom and her mom were living on a boat when my parents met. not a houseboat.. just a boat.
I 'believe' so J.C.@!
I 'believe' so J.C.@!
How many words today please
128 gran
Thanks
yw
Wow. I took mostly guesses with the top row O and they were good ones - blacked it out. :)
well done jc
nice!
morning all. Great swimming suits, m9 and flosey!
ty sprite, and yours
Hello everyone. Morning Sprite
thanks.
hello lyn
hi lyn, good late afternoon to you, I believe :)
chat looks nice with all those bathing suits
well.. leaving my last 8 for tomorrow! bye all!! *poof*
hi all new arrivals -- I'm just back from a banana break
yours are rather sexy for oldfashioned ones, m9
and bye
awww yours are sweet, jilli. Hi, and which banana did you break?
well, I have 42 to go but they'll have to wait for tomorrow
bye flosey
too tired, goodnight all
ha ha sprite!
floseu, I have 43 left and am in the same condition
see, I can't even type flosey properly.
lol, you make it almost look french
mais oui, ma chere!
not original, jilli... don't know if you have ever seen the video clip from Cliff Richard and the Young Ones, Living Doll? At some point Cliff calls for an instrumental break... and one of the Young Ones eagerly asks: "Which instrument do you want us to break, Cliff?"
bridge was a bit tiring tonight, wouldn't you say, Jilli?
actually, I got good cards and rather enjoyed it except at the noisy end.
yes, that was awful!
anyway, for now, poof
no, never saw Living Doll
g'night flosey. I just want one more word -- can't find the ha5/24
it was a special performance for some charity. Pretty funny, making a famous song into a parody.
night again, flosey
jilli: it starts with meat. Second syllable uses the highest value tile.
well, I still can't find that ha5/24 and will leave 40 for tomorrow -- goodnight all and *poof*
bye jillibus
oh thanks, sprite! 39 left :) *repoof*
rebye :)
FIREWORDS!!! Thnx Volleydee for the list...xxx
gratz dizgrannie
congrats DizG

Hi

How you
reasonably lousy, and you?
O Sprite HUGGGGGGGGGGGGSSSSSSsssss
O Sprite HUGGGGGGGGGGGGSSSSSSsssss
aw sweetie, thank you :)
good morning everyone;/
hey crossy! Have you seen us all folding? :)
Hi Crossie
i have indeed sprite!!:)
I must away shortly dinner is needed
duty calls, lady :) But happy to see you, however short.
What is this you speack off I looked and was confused
now, they are all getting tired of listening to old crossy drone on and on sp i need you ladies to once in a while get them to look at my profile:)
hello everyone. how's the grid today?
I can't do anything till my PC finishes its mental
Hi Lili
it is giving a bit of your bandwidth to a scientific project, lady
hi Lile, it is good! Smooth in places, challenging in others.
Ok. I have no bandwidth to give I am struggling to get this beast worknig
i have it all laid out in my profile herin, you get to help hnt for cancer cures
hunt
yesterday's was short and sneaky...
np herin,my brother also has what i call 'donkey net" lol
ooo - someone at the door..... see you all later...
yes it was!
your computer is chewing the the proteins at a nice rate sprite;)))
Interesting Crossy. No i have what you call idiot internet
actually, crossy, I am amazed how little bandwidth it takes. I can still download a movie or whatever and it doesn't matter much. And I am in a bad spot for speed, very far from the central whatsitcalled.
it is very easy indeed on the computer
he has won many awards and kudos for this set up he created
he has done an amazing job
I have a user error. As in the User is creating errors
I mean, splittingup the tasks like this is already brilliant. But making it easy and almost unnoticeable is even better.
i have created a few of those in my time also;))
indeed sprite
I am known for my user errors.
will not be long and i will be able to pass out a 100,000 WU certificate to all of you:)
lol!
suitable for framing and gift giving lol
after that i think increments of 500,000 will suffice
if we can get 100 babblers on board,it will be easy
now crossy! Don;t set the standard too low now!
my goal is 100 babblers,as of now we have 15 computers unning on average,so my goal is a long ways off
i hope to see mom finish her first one soon, lol, she got a 6666 right off the hop!
o nuts
what you break herin? lol
lol yes they are big. I had a small one as first one, but I have seen about 3 of 6666 already.
i have never had a big one yet...all 250,s for me
well I don't care, they can throw at me what they want.
My pc drives me nuts
ah, just finished one of 6666, now a 250 going
yaa for sprite!!!
i get nothing more than a 250, mostly they are 100 :-(
nuts... I got my parents for that. Finally kicked my father out of my life permanently, now my mother starts again with her sneaky shit. Anyone around who wants to practice for hitman?
next time the list updates, you should zoom up the list sprite;)
no probs zooz,every bit helps
every job needs to be done, big or small, zooz. Hi :)
true, it is only a laptop..lol
sometimes you have to treat the parents like your young adult children...be tough
Right I am off. I need to reboot and see if I can get this happy
bye lady, good luck with the puter
then you are doing great zooz!
gl herin
crossy, if that isn't the truth.
o am doing "tough love " with my dad as well right now sprite
after more than 10 years my sister and I finally got back together and are enjoying eachother so much. And now of course our mother feels she needs to ruin that again... too bad we are adults now and we won't let her. Why can't some people see happiness in others without wanting to destroy it?
ooooh a nice oc word,it a a measurement of a gasoline additive that changes from regular to premium blends
they are all related, I think, crossy
TY, Crossy, nice one.
they will forever try to treat you like you are both 10 years old lol
np zooz
*giggles* I am a very BIG 10 yo. I can bash their heads together!
lol
mmm,i can see this is going to be a tough little grid;((
it has some tough spots, yes. I am down to 2 and cannot find them for the life of me.
i have a ve4 is , how many letters is the other `V` please?/
4 as well
yayyy got them. Fireflies!
Thank you.
WTG, Spritey!!
thanks! Anything I may clue before I go?
Crossy, please bear with the techno-klutz. I have downloaded the folding@home thingy - and I see a little icon in the bottom right had corner of my puter. Its saying CPU F@H (0/250). Do I have to do anything else?
I should be ok with this one, but thanks .
heyyy Soodle, welcome aboard
No thats it soodle, just let it run.
Hi everybody. I was lurking, and trying to do the folding@home thing....
howdy soodles
if it changes to 1/250 etc, you did everything right.
bye all!
Hmmm. Still at 0/250......
as long as it changes soon, you did it correctly
(otherwise you may still need to become part of the babble team)
it takes a while, give it a chance....lol
right click the icon and go to configure if you wish to check
take a look again in 10 mins.
you user mane and team number must be listed
if not let me know
make sure you have 173981 entered in the team name.
I put in my Babble name, and copied your team number into it.
then you are all set...yaa for soodles!!!!!
Welcome aboard ;-)
I honestly don't have a clue what I have done, but if some good comes out of it.....Yippee!
at any time you can right click the icon, cohhse status, the team stats to see how we are all making out
then you will see that sprite is gaining by leaps and bounds lol
and nono is up there also;)
i computer has managed to churn out 50 WU`s so far..lol
yaaa for zooz!
And, again, forgive my klutz-ness, but how does one progress?
my* not i..lol
it is self progressing as your computer and ours go through the work units
when you see 250/250,you have completed a protein fold
I will give it a while to settle in. I'm still at 0/250!
the units seem to come in 50,s100,s250,s 500,s 1000,s and 6666,s
when your computer compleates a WU = work unit, you get points for it, they combine when you do more WU,and you go up the score board.
mom for example is grinding her way through a 6666 right now
My computer is clearly as lazy as me!
would love my computer have ago at a 6666 one.
LOL, Soodle
np at all zooz, every little bit helps;))
as would i zooz
true, Crossy, just want to see how my computer would handle one that sized WU.
the bigs ones are highly sought after, not just for ranking, but i hear whispered out there that the big ones may turn out to be the "key" proteins
I thought you had to have a super computer to get those ones, as they need to be in by a deadline.
well yes,but it would be nice to be in on an advancement now matter how small our personal contribution
make it a bit fun for ourselves
Be nice to have babblers as no.1 in the main chart.
Exactly, Crossy.
there are teams out there with 10,000 computers in it
maximum pc magazine has a very large team
i will be happy with 100 babblers in this team if i can get it
although that is alot, it depends on the size of your computer power i suppose, so you could have less computers in your team, yet get more points if they do the very large WU quickly.
some universities have banded together to form student teams also
indeed
I remeber joining them at first, Crossy, you got me into doing this, but changed over to the Babblers one in the end..lol
for example for my part i have 2 computers in my pffering with a combined total of 5.2 gig of processing power
offering
indeed zooz,i was with them also, but though a babble team would be much more fun
Hey!!!! It works. I am at 2/250!!!
yaa for soodles!!!!
now, each of you that i badgered to join must in turn get 2 others to join
Nice one , Soodle, it might take just over a day or less depending how powerful your computer is.
you can send them to my profile for all the info
Will do, Cross!
I have asked lots of people, Crossy. Not one was interested :-(
when we get 100,i will stop nagging everyone in the chog lol
jnow that is sad news zooz;((
ok, need to go for a while, BBL
kk tc zooz
Ha. Thats where being a Mammy is handy. I will bully my 2 daughters to join, and threaten to cut off the broadband if they refuse. Evil chuckle...
lol,use the power soodles lol
Laters, Zooz...
Good morning/evening all.
Hello Haz :-)
Hello, Soodle, drippy day here.
Its yucky here too. Still, we never get bored of the weather in Ireland....
Bored? Perish the thought!
howdy haz
Hello, crossy. You're up early!
been up since 3 am;( if not for babble, insomnia would be nasty
it is now 05:18 am here
Will you nap later or is that you up for the day?
I have a fun day of wall-papering the kitchen to look forward to......
I'd come to help if I didn't have a convenient hairdressers appointment to keep at midday.
i will grab a mid day nap
i will paint,i will do waiscotting,i will stain..i will rebuild a entire kitchen before you will ever get me to wallpaper
Why thank you Haz. I know you will be elbow-deep in wallpaper paste, in spirit, as you get yourself pampered and preened.
I'll be mentally pasting along with you, Soodle.
Why don't you like wallpapering, crossy?
crossy LOTHES wallpapering
I like it. It's the painting that doesn't make me happy, but getting the walls covered up with lovely colour/texture/pattern satisfies me.
the fiddly part of matching the patterns drives me round the bend
lol if you want texture from me,i will spackle
I'll admit that the last papering I did (funnily enough in the kitchen) did tax my patience. A small pattern but something like a 24 inch drop so that you thought you had got it and then realised no. But if you keep 3 or 4 rolls on the go, it does help to minimise wastage.
I really hate the whole decorating thing. In another life, I would be getting those nice men in white overalls to come and do my bidding....
gd morning, I have ten minute! :(
there is a interesting method invoving the use of blues and whites an a large slightly damp rag that makes it all look just like a blue summer sky
Hello Ruby :-)
howdy ((ruby)) just ten minutes/:((
Good morning, ruby. You'd better dive in unless you want to tell us about your decorating likes and dislikes.
I get the men in white overalls to do high walls like in the hall. You'll not get me balancing about on planks.
what h appened to zzoozz? is he all right?
In that other life, I would also have a butler, a maid and a gardener.
I re-did this entire house after we bought it and were still living in Miami. I designed and purchased and selected all materials and colors, but that was the extent of my contribution
I walked around with swatches in my purse for a year
same goes for gardening. I designed out of books over a period of 4 yrs, even before we bought the house, and then started from scratch
You may have noticed how enthusiastic I am.... still Babbling at 10.30, instead of getting on with it.....
procrastinators' anonymous for you soodle. I'm the founder!
I had noticed that, Soodle. By rights you should have clocked on at 8 and be having your first cup of tea about now.
and i am getting a very early start on doing nothing today lol
Have you got all your equipment out? Paste mixed, plumb line to hand?
The tea bit is correct, Haz - I am mentally preparing myself....
Oh, I have all the accoutrements. Its the enthusiasm I lack....
if i get real excited i may shave today lol
it's the shaving every time.....
Believe me, I've seen what can happen if you don't use a plumb line. A so called decorater started to do a room in my mother's house before she stopped him and asked for my advice. My advice - get rid before he wastes more paper!
being a bristly crossy itches ruby
I think I'd like a bristly crossy!
though i have a beard on the lower parts, but the cheeks to the jawline are bare
sounds elegant hahah
i have what is know as a hockey players beard style
I better go. Have a nice day everybody. Enjoy the shave, Cross!!
lol ty soodles
Bye, Soodle. Have a good day - sure you'd not be outside anyway a day like this.
see you after lunch *poof*
Bye, ruby.
we have temporary summer back after that snow..is to be 17 c and sunny today
how many today please
128 today.

Hello red and DTins.
Hello, I am not really here, just a moment before work...
i hit my first wall 20 words in,does not bode well;((
howdy red
That's okay, just checking all's well with the babble world?
da6 - the sort of pastry Hamlet might enjoy.
there we go,did a burst of 5 more lol
and another 2..i am just on fire here ;)
I'm standing well back in case you spontaneously combust.
actually with my next use of the lord name in vain,i fully expect lightning to come through the roof and sizzle me where i sit
So basically, if you get through the day, it'll be a miracle.
indeed
me just being upright and taking fluids is a miracle...
The fact that you can type as well is an added bonus.
all perks as far as i am concerned
Morning everyone. Cross, are you sick?
It might be nice to have Brad Pitt's looks but you'd have to be dragging children round airports most of the time. Count yourself lucky that you're just bristly crossy.
nope, just blue skying things,i am fine molly for the nonce
Good morning, Molly.
indeed, spare me the agony of being wealty or famous
G'day Haz.
wealthy
Crossy if you are going to sizzle where you sit wrap yourself in bacon quickly! Greetings all.
just discovered that we are being left 700,000 in a will..other than paying the credit card off and stockpiling bacon,i do not see much use for it lol
Morning, babblefriends! I've missed you, not having been on for several weeks. Hope all are doing well.
Hello, FM!
howdy fuq!!
Good morning FM and fuquayvarina.
Hello fuq - we'll not sulk too much about you abandoning us.
Hello Haz and Molly and ((crossy)) and wb fuquay.
but I've been thinking about you constantly, hon! I've been a little preoccupied, getting separated, buying a house, etc
(((FM)))
Oh, well then as long as you have legitimate reasons to be away, we'll okay. How are you doing?
*We'll be okay (as soon as FM appears my typing goes to pot. I blame her)
I'm doing great! Filed the papers yesterday and feel like a thousand pound weight is off.
Sounds like you have had a lot on your plate fuq, babble is always a haven away from crappiness.
you can tell eva is an addict though, she even checked in on the morning of her wedding..though she has been strangly absent from babble during her honeymoon lol
That's good to hear, and I hope you continue to feel good, fuq.
I would be worried if she did babble whilst on honeymoon.
crossy, I think EvaN checked in just before they were heading off for honeymoon.
crossy as the lone evil male present goes to hide in the grid.....
There's a picture on her profile, or at least there was. She looks very happy.
You're not evil, crossy. Bristly, yes, evil, no.
Oh really HAz, must go and have a look.
want to rub my whiskers? lol
And I'll speak up for good men everywhere. They do exist.
males aren't evil, just expendable
....
not you, crossy
awe there is, and she does but I want to see the dress and the groom too!
Honestly, I do think men get criticised a lot in here. Some deserve it, of course, but I think they all tend to get tarred with the same brush and it's not fair.
I know, just a head shot, FM. She's teasing us!
i expect it haz i mean the ratio here 98% female to 2% male..but it is all good stuff
But she does look very happy, doesn't she? She said in the log that the day had gone really well and she was content.
Fess up crossy - you love that ratio :))
Haz, that could be because several people in here are going through nasty break ups right now. Good on you for lending perspective.
and most of you ladies are a pleasure to chat with
It's the only reason he comes.
I agree, Molly, but it does seem that in general you can say what you like about men and they have to take it. I don't know what the reaction would be if the men rose up in rebellion against the women!
we suffer in silence and take one for the team
Let's try it. Crossy, say something about women. (let's see how brave he is)
well....
i have been married 17 years as you know....
i've seen it in other forums, and it's not pretty. the women tear them to shreds and leave theie little egos bleeding on the screen
and the only thing i really know about women is that it has something to do with chocolate lol
It has EVERYTHING to do with chocolate!
lol
brb. breakfast calls, in the voice of my cat
you will not drag anything more out of me
i have been well trained
lol
plus the ladies love a man of mystery;)
I'm not being critical of anybody in particular and I fully realise that there are some ghastly men out there but I just cringe sometimes when all men come in for the same ear-bashing.
crossy, you should sign up for the Diplomatic Corps.
lol
And I can recommend the Henry Kissinger Correspondence Course in Diplomacy.
4 lessons by return of post and you get a certificate and the ability to talk your way out of any situation.
i took the dale carnigie(sp) course on how to win friends and influence people;))
I agree that not all men should be tarred with the same brush and the same applies to women too.
Yes, it was very popular at one time, wasn't it?
i am a firm believer of letting people think you are an idiot than opening your mouth and removing all doubt
Yes, the sisterhood is all very well but some don't deserve to be in the ranks.
Did you really crossy or are you jesting?
still a good read haz
hi all could ya tell me what the v's score please xx
good morning everyone
do i really what fm?
I think my dad had a copy but goodness knows where it is now.
howdy eva
Dale Carnegie course
Hello Eva, lucy.
ve4/7 and ve4/8
i read the book fm..twice
And that's why he's got so many friends and has influenced so many people.
there is still a lots of good things in there for a business person to reflect upon
lol I did the course and then went back as an associate to help teach it waaaay back in the 80's
which says a lot about a book written in 1937
thanks haz, have you got the list of whats what as i am getting stuck now!!!!!! lickerty is still on sundays!!!!!!
Hi Eva and merp and lucy.
howdy looocy
I've got a copy of the list in my profile courtesy of Volly.
Hi, lucy, I haven't got any list so far, but there might be one in Volley's profile if you want to check.
Ah, even easier, FM has obliged.
thankyou will have a nosey!!!!!!lol
not that I have enven started the grid yet today :(
But it's good that you're being of help. We'll keep you on.
it is 6:10 am here and pitch black. This transitional time of year is difficult...getting used to the lack of light, hearing all the geese head south.
*pulls forlock* thank you Ma'am
It is hard isn't it Eva, our clock go back an hour this weekend :(
That's the bit I hate, the nights getting dark so early.
dark as a coal mine here also
no daylight till 7:30 or so
They've moved it up here...not until November. And of course then it will get dark really early. I do love living here, but it's time to get out the light box and up the vitamin D
i live outside for my work,so i am ok in that regard
sunrise was lovely this morning at about 7.30am
On the other hand, there's something comforting about having seasons and kind of knowing what's going to happen next. Mind you, by the time March comes around I find myself craving light, but being out with the dog does seem to help, I think.
you've probably had snow already haven't you Crossy? We've just had a sprinkling and today is going to be close to 70.
I'd hate to be stuck in an office, only seeing daylight at the weekends - during the winter season, that is.
soon i will have to cater to the skier citiots
i could never be a office drone
You love them, don't you, crossy? I can feel the enthusiasm.
By the time March comes around I feel like biting someone. We keep saying we're going to go somewhere sunny in march, but are usually too listless to escape.
though being fry and warm in the winter would be nice....
dry
(Take note, everyone, don't antagonise Eva in March)
my neighbors have all learned that Haz...of course they need muzzles too by then. There's really very little good to be said of mud season.
join me in march eva..you get some citiot in his 100,000 dollar beemer counting out pennies for his gas when you have the nerve not to take his diners club card for gasoline and it is -30 out lol
feel like ripping of the car emblam and finding a new place to mount it....
we have them too, but they all go to Stowe, and the rest of us stay away.
I can understand why you'd want to maintain a beard in those sort of temperatures.
I really don't mind the cold at all, but wold love to have a lot more sunny days.
actually the beard can be a hinderance in extreme cold haz,you get ice build up in it..you may notice that all of our first nation inuit are clean shaven
crossy maybe we could organize a mass migration in march...to Cost Rica perhaps?
I'll keep shaving, in that case, crossy.
cause they get -40 to minus 55 and you do not want ice clinging to your face in those temps
Have you found anything that can keep glasses from fogging up in the cold? Aside from holding one's breath?
lol,ill ask my brother to get the sleeping bags ready
yes,to have fog free glass, open the window so the temp is the same inside as outside lol
oh glasses,no,i do not need to wear them for anything toher than reading for now
that will change i am sure
sorry, I meant eyeglasses, when one is taking a walk (I know, I know, an insane thing to do in the middle of the winter) but I try. However, stumbling along the road half blind is a problem. I got something from a ski shop called "Cat Piss" which isn't, and you rub on your glasses but it didn't help for long
then when that happens i will get the kids running around outside while i man the register lol
no,eva i know of nothing, except if you keep a apir outside in your mailbox, just for your walks
Oh, THAT"S what kids are for!
then they will always be the same temp as the outside air,aNd never fog
pair
the problem is the hot air coming out of one's mouth and nose.which then turns into ice. Someone needs to design glasses with windshield wipers
..mm good idea now that i think of it..a pair of "outside' glasses
mm,i have yet to have that expericence eva
though it seems i may soon need a pair for typing lol
Which reminds me that I need to get my snow tires put on...usually I wait until that morning that everyone decides to do it and have to stand on line for 3 hours.
Husband had to get winter tyres on for the first time ever last year. We're not used to snow that doesn't disappear after a couple of days.
and get new winter wipers, and check out the generator and have the antifreeze in our home heating system replenished, and find where I put my yak traks last spring. Costa Rica is looking better and better
Has here everyone who doesn't have studded tires (which I don't do) gets the same Nokia Hakapalita tires.
Haz that is
we are not allowed studded tyres here anymore
i get a good quality michilen winter tyre
Last December/January was really unusual in that it froze solidly for weeks and it was quite a problem for him getting around on country roads. The tyres made a big difference.
Clues are up
They didn't allow them in Mass, but here in Vt they do. There are just too many people who couldn't make it to their homes without them.
Thanks, lickety!
ask for a softer compund and high sipe count
Thank you lickety where would we be without you
compound
ty lickety
Well, I'll have to go and get my hair done before I go to get my hair done. Does that sound a bit Irish?
god,sounds like my wife
she also cleans to get ready for the cleaners
You just don't want to go in looking your worst. It's silly, I know.
You just don't want them thinking that this woman makes no effort and expects them to do all the work.
i think they should know your morning look warts and all ,maybe then they can do some tweaking to offset it lol
Back again, got called away by thecleaner
wb fm;)
i am too itchy,time to scrape the bristles,back in a flash...semi-poof
My hair has a mind of its own. There have been times when I've got up, looked in the mirror and decided that it would take a hairdresser ages to get it looking as bad. Hair sticking out at weird angles, you name it. My daughter can go to bed and emerge the next morning with hair absolutely in the same state as when she went to bad. It's not fair!
we managed to get 15 mins of emptying summer flowering pots in the garden before the rain came again.
*to bed. See, FM comes back and the typos start.
He's very accomodating, FM, if he'll do garden stuff as well.
yup he is a good chap.
Right, I must go if I'm to have any chance of emerging from this house in civilised state. Bye for now, FM and I'll see you later. *gone*
I think he finds it a change from some of his other clients.
I think he finds it a change from some of his other clients.
Bye Haz.
there we go,crossy is all shaved and smelling nice again;)
na 7 32 please x
Well that was quick crossy !
Plural 'yer 6 lucy. G'd morning kids!
sorry lucy - still haven't started the grid and am goig to disappear to start lunch soon.
*** don't go yet...*** :p
Lori!!!! this is getting to be like old times. *puts down all water implements and give a hug instead*.
i would if i had the 6!!!!!!!!lori
***returns hug whilst hiding a wee tiny water cannon behind my back***
Then ask for the 6? lol na 6 is a part of a Grandmother nickname + an ending that has a Charles Manson-sh ring to it
*squirts tiny water pistol in yr ear* *gggle*
Hey! You cheated. I'm aggrivated with that s, so I popped in. Odd grid
Got it now lucy?
those n,s elude me
good heavens 43 s's, might not start this one.

The shed kitties are good FM. Mornin' Molly, lol
the evil rainbow cult of grannies
Hi Lori.
That's the ebst clue, a cult of Grannies. Nice!
:)
finally!!!! got it took forever doh!!!!!!!
There will be a movie about them soon, with the tag line...Don't Let Their Innocence Fool You.
I keep seeing sa4/5man in this grid.
You don't think those needles are just for knitting, do you?
Yea for lucy!

Good morning to my Babble buddies!
Good morning
Hi Gail.
scwabby!
i have been here since 3 am doing the babble insomniac shuffle ;/
Hi Cwossy! How did you sleep last night? Ah, there's my answer.
Sunday night's sleep was dreadful. Last night I slept well.
Do you work today? any chance of a nap?
day off and a high chance of a afternoon surf on the couch
Good for you. I go to a local school this AM to do sports exams, then have lunchtime mtg at our tiny hospital, have the afternoon off, then work 5:30-8:30.
hellooooooo babblers
i see we have lickety's today hoooooooooorayyyyyy
Hi V!
and i hate people who say 'well since you cannot sleep, you must get all kinds of wonderful things done" it is awake but not, kind of like someone has punched you with a bag of bricks soaked in ether lol
lol@ V
hey scrab ;)
howdy varumba
especially as i\ve just watched th elast episode of "V the new serie' lolol
hi crossy
The zombie state is not productive, accurate, effective or sociable.
I am being lazy, V. I shorten Babbler's names a lot.
yes, that is what it is,more of a zombie state
oh it's not problem: you'll have noticed that I do that myself.. like i always call you scrab.....
i call her scrabbs;)
or scwabby
And we call herinfernallady "herin", which is silly. helensgirlskid = hgk. Riverdance = RD. etc
thats stems from this one day we were both in here doing a entire evening of cluing in elmer fudd speak and being quite effective with it lol
Cwossy + I ah membas of the Elmer Fudd Society.
lolol... i always shorten long cyber names.... actually, most of them
shhh,be werry,werry quiet,im hunting wabbits...
And I have si wee wabbits in my house.
I must get ready to leave. 46 words done and I am stuck. This is not an easy grid. Enjoy the day, everyone!
tx scrab, you 2.. syl (((((((()))))))
morning all! right column done
morning dan.... that is the easiest ;)
howdy dan
I like to celebrate tiny accomplishments :-)
and right you are! :D
if i can comb my hair and not break out in a full sweat..it is a good day;)
is your mobility restricted crossy?
or were you just joking ;)
crossy has so much hair it takes him a couple of hours grooming :)
ohi see...lol hi there FM
o,i am joking varumba,i am fluffy, but not restricted:)
Hi var :)
*psst crossy come over here just cooked myself lunch proper egg and bacon sarnies) - I won't tell if you dont*
mmm...you know the way right to my clogged heart;))
mmmm it was good but that is my indulgence over for at least 4 weeks now.
I believe if you are going to indulge it really has to taste good otherwise there is no point.
i agree fm
i make these amazing breakfast egg muffies.what i do i take 2 fruit nappies and give them a light greasing with butter, and crack an egg in each, they can both go in the microwave at same time for 1 min 30 sec then i put them on toasted english muffies, they each get 1/2 slice of cheese and a single very thin deli slice of smoked honey ham and a dash of sald and pepper
salt
OMG i want one of those
Crossy...what are fruit nappies?
good question car.e!
they are small glass corning ware dished use for fruit cup and to make single seve puddings
bout half cup in size
Oh good! i have several of those!
very handy to have some in your kitchen armament
Ah there we go, todays 'something new learnt from babble moment'
corning ware make the best frit nappies
fruit
I guess our equivalent could be a ramekin dish by the sound of it.
same people who make your favorite glass measuring cups
but would be tricky to remove egg from it no?
the ramkekin that is
right, ith ink i need to list now.... 41 left and i'm stuck...
i only use glass measuring cups, glass mixing bowls etc,no platic
not if you buttered it weel
nope varumba,they slide right out
good to know
you could also use one of those cooking sprays
yuck
but i do not use them
butter only or a high quality soya nargerine
margerine
any1 got the ap words? ap5/16 and ap5/14
ohi got one..... got the 5/14
Going to do the wasing up and put the kettle on then may have a go at the grid or a nap as had a rubbish nights sleep. TTFN.
and monkeyed the other one too....
the entire muffin innards can be cooked and ready before the english muffin even pops out of the toaster,it is a great fast breakfast, sometimes i pre make a container of diced green pepper or mushrooms and you just add a pinch to the eggs before you pop them in the microwave
syl FM! have a good nap
i slept poorly as well fm,have a good nap
how many words today?
128
it is a tough little grid
thanks
I have 126...getting close
wtg ouw!
I declare Cross The King Of Breakfast.
hi molly
Hello Varumba.
any1 one got the az5/22?
nm, got it
lol,ty molly but hat is a fast breakfast.you should see my 'famous canadian north woods/last you all day" breakfasts
sounds yummy
az 5 sounds atrological
a a period of time when dinos roamed
I figured that Cross. If your "fast breakfast" is that good, your all day breakfast has to be top shelf.
hello my dear babble friends
hi there trif
ok molly for you i would start with two jumbo brown eggs done over easy in butter, some hash browns and diced sweet valencia onions fried if extra virgin olive oil, some peameal bacon with extra old cheddar melted over top, crunch toasted english muffins with butter and gooseberry jelly, some on my brothers mountain grown volcanic coffee fresh from costa rica and a tall frosty glass of orange juice(no pulp) to wash it all down
howdy triff
NOW i am hungry, crossy!
lol
sorry molly asked
omg
that is torture crossy!
could you upload that, crossy?
i can swop the peameal with hickory maple sliced bacon or grilled farmers saussages
lol
too big a file triff;/
Sounds like Heaven Cross. I LOVE breakfast. And I've heard that Costa Rican coffee is very good.
that is life varuma, the key for happy eating is to eat breakfast like a king, linch like a prince and dinner like a pauper
i meant torture for you to say this here!!! if course i would eat it and enjoy it!
And Cross, I'll skip the jam because I like to dip my muffins in the egg yolk. Or "the runny" as my Mom called it.
then i'd sleep, lol
for example a suitable dinner would be a toasted cheese sandwich and a bottle of vodka lol
lots of muffies for jam and dipping
trundling off to find something to eat...
lolol trif
i go to the farm once every 2 weeks and get 2 flats of jumbo brown egss, best when still warm from the nest;)
by the time the store gets them, they are already a week ok...not for crossy
old
nad they smoke their own bacon on site;)))))
see what happens when you get me going on breakfast? lol
Leftover pasta from last night. yummy!
i always keep a couple of 12 packs of english muffies on hand in case of a sudden breakfast epidemic:)
lmao crossy
EGGS THAT ARE WARM FROM THE NEST??? Oh you fortunate son.
i only keep the odd loaf of regular sliced bread on hand for my sons lunches for school, otherwise it is english muffies, crumpets, scones and fresh buns...
so fresh you have to wipe the poop off before you crack them;))
hence there is a whole lot of crossy to love;))
Gads, nice visual Cross. I'll stick to the cleaner, week old store bought eggs, thanks.
and i hit the bakers early so the bread is still on the cooling trays
gee cross, good thing i don't live with you: i'd put on a couple of stones within a month!
but yummyyyyyy
lol commom molly, you know the eggs do not come from the egg fairys all clean and packaged;)
lol
buns and muffies so fresh, you cannot even cut them, have to tear them ...mmmm
ok,now crossy is hungry...

Good morning Molly
((Annie)) good morning. Has your donut arrived?
Hi (((Mom))) good morning to you too, no, not yet
oh Annie :-(
crossy made me very hungry..was reading his menu for his wonderful breakfasts..was ready to catch a plane
Annie come get me before you head to the airport. Let me go dig out my passport.
*calling a cab and making a stop to pick up Molly*...anyone else want to join us?
We are going to crossy's house for his famous breakfasts.
All the su's have the same first 4 letters
sigh, I will be home today.
will have to get Crossy's breakfast another time
be back in a minute .... sweetie is leaving for work
be back soon, doorbell
crossy is back, coffee is perking and tea is steeping;0
I am stumped at all the su's having the same first four letters.
they are all variations of the same word
start with the su4..the star that lights our way on earth
morning all, help with the N under the S pls
but with a extra cons
then add a vowel and away you go on the rest
I got that part, and I have the words. They just aren't recognized in the dictionary I use.
it is just babble un-words..i ignore their impossible-ness now

and my comp on all th etime
he thinks its a load of bunk
thats wierd carlee
you didn't accidentaly pause it did you?

250's i do in 8 hours
nope....i didnt
maybe you need to close it and then restart? it sounds like it may be stuck for some reason
nope..its moving
last nite went to bed was 71/100 now is 79 /100
yikes thats slow
i have been on this one since sat
You know, sometimes I would just like to bop myself over the head for struggling with something as simple as as5/12.
thats why we keep the fish handy Molly :)
i just came in fro outside putting all anything that can move away....expecting that big mid westg storm here about noon
bummers Carlee
they have already clocked temps as hih as 70 MPH...saying is like a cat 3 hurricane
i hate storms like that
i hate wind
i dont like sound of it
i dont mind blizzards
but wind....alone..creeps me out
yup, specially when you have lots of trees around
i have 4 deads ones behind me on other peoples property
we have big ole pine tree in back yard that scares the crap out of me
to the south of me...and..guess what directin the wind coming from????
from the south no doubt
yeap
they ash trees big ole ash trees killed by emerald ash borers

You're welcome.
thankyou x
No problem, lucy.
hello hello :)
Hello, hello. How are you?
just back from KWT. Been working hard! 9am - 10pm yesterday, 8am - 3pm today!
Good gracious, that's never a part-time job!
but that's it for the week :D
and I just took a hilariously bad photo of Hobbit. Putting it up oas my pic
That's not quite so bad, but still, it was a loooong first day.
I'm currently writing an abusive letter to an insurance company.
oh well done. What did they do to you?
It's the ongoing saga of the portacabin and the crane. The insurance company says we have to prove negligence.
urf!!
Exactly! We've got a bill of nearly £5000 to pay for repairs and the insurance company are trying to wash their hands of it.
So far we haven't gone public with the story but if they don't start to cooperate soon I'll be making some phone calls to the local press initially.
absolutely!!
fireworks!! have a good day all!
Well done, trents!
wah. babble won't let me upload the silly pic of hobbit
Hobbit has nobbled it so that she's not pictured in less than flattering pose.
fine. I emailed it instead :P
Just got it. She looks manic.
doesn't she!!
she was eating a dentastick
I saw a lorry fpor a dog food I'd never heard of before - Webbox. Would you feed Spangle something called Webbox?
Absolutely not.
nor me!
Webbox sounds like nothing. I wonder why they thought it was a good name?
I have *no* idea. What a silly silly name. It sounds like a disinfectant
Hi you two, can't stop too long just doing a grocery shop online to stock up the store cupboards.
check your email :)
Hello, FM. I've e=mailed both of you with the abusive letter to see if it's abusive enough.
Oh good - will look forward to reading it.
HAve done Ata and replied.
I would say at the end that unless you hear from them wthin say 2 weeks that you really do intend to go to the press
Yes, I would agree, and I'm going to copy it to the firm concerned. They won't want the bad publicity either.
biab, must register my shop so I don't lose the slot.
The thing is that the firm want the insurance company to pay out, it's the insurance company who are dragging their heels.
absolutely. and do you know the name of this guy's boss / boss's boss? I'd try copying it to someone else high in the firm too. It works remarkably well sometimes, because someone who cares about image then sees you're ready to make them look bad
I could find out, I suppose. Copy it to the Managing Director and see if that gets the ball rolling?
and the MArketing Manager
if they have one?
We're actually on pretty good terms with the crane people. Things only went downhill when they passed it over to their insurance, thinking, I suppose, that if they pay their premiums, they might as well get the value out of them.
it's got to be worth a shot. If this guy gets a rocket up his backseide from someone higher up, it'll make him do something more than anything else will!
What frustrates me is that in the whole scheme of things the money isn't a huge amount to a big insurance company, but it's a major loss to us.
that's the annoying thing
Even more reason to push all the buttons and it is a charity after all!
We literally can't afford to go to court about this, so bringing pressure to bear in every other way is our only option.
I think back to those optimistic days when it seemed that a new portacabin was going to solve all our problems. Little did we know!
You will get there in the end dear, don't give up or get too stressed.
It is a crappy glitch for now.
It was beginning to get me down, I must admit, when the yard was still in a mess and everything just threw up obstacles, but everyone keeps saying that it's par for the course with insurance people and you just have to keep going.
Anyway, apart from all that, how was your world of work, Ata?
Fun! I spent the morning playing on google earth
And there I was thinking you'd be paddling in rockpools.
I take it you are really enjoying the job Ata :)
pa
She might have been doing it whist paddling HAz, you never know.
na6? help please.
too cold to paddle :) Paddling on Friday!
why - is it suddenly going to be tropical on Friday??
na6 - belief system in cyber***?
noooo I just don't get a choice on friday!
Back shortly, going to get this letter finished and research who's in charge at the insurance company...
or grandma's belief system and then pl for the 7

Hi Molly

Hello - just had a walk with Spangle and it's actually mild out there compared to a couple of days ago.
is it dry too? Glad you had a good walk.
Yes, the pavements are a bit damp but no rain falling.
Lovely! good to blow the cobwebs away.
I think lucyloo has deep breathed herself into hyperventilation.
poor lucy, I can hear her banging her head on the desk.
I know, it can get frustrating when the letters seem to mock you.

ruru was just sweetening us up for clue time :(
thank you
You're welcome, ruru.
not really fm.. I just couldn't find that one last night
if it runs across my toes again while doing that speed it will be doing a shift as dinner....
Ford Fairline, gosh that rings bells - oh yes I remember Dad had a Ford Fairmont(?)
If I was trying to sweeten up haz.. I would put George in my icon
assuming i can catch it of course....
You know me so well, ruru.
Who is that in yr icon today ruru and no I am not going to ask if it is you.
FM has probably got the binoculars trained on it.
The icon, I mean.
it is a mistake by flickr fm,their account name is crosshare and mine of course is crosshair

It was cleverly disguised fm..
Ruru, I think you have been chastised, good lady. Love the icon.
ma6/24 - to the little carpet attach a lightbulb moment word.

thank you haz.. I got it right away
almost done
Well done, ruru.
thanks for your help.
bye for now
Hello
Hello sadie, bye ruru.
Something must be going on if Dr_God is lurking.
Is he? I'd better behave in that case. Thanks for the warning.
Hello Haz
i have 4 left all damn s's any idea on the sa 7 36 ??
sa7/36 is a plural for sa6. s plus first letters of Princess Royal, then opposite of down.
dr_g is lurking??! crossy hides the the bacon....
And I should say hello to BabbleRabble as well.
I'm not lurking per se. I'm just workin' on the new site. ;) This message is coming via the new site actually.
oooh neat
very cool indeed dr g;))
Hello, Dr-God.
oh there is a Dr_God here was wondering who all were talkin bout hello Dr_God
Does this make us the first to be on the new site? Do we have boasting rights?
crossy gives dr g one of his famouse bacon weave sarnies to keep his strength up to finish the new babble;)
Only I'm on the new site, Haz. Sorry. ;)
Darn.
It would have been so nice to have said 'New site? Been there already'
have to bribe him like i just did..bacon weave sarnies dr g...
My bid is Bailey's Cheesecake.
i up the ante to penne ala vodka in a creamy garlic bacon sauce
He'll stink to high heaven after that.
you could bribe me easy with the cheesecake!
Bailey's leaves no evidence other than on the waistline.
Dr-G seems to be made of sterner stuff. Any updates on the new site?
now i offer chicken cordon bleu..two snow white breasts of chicken, stuffed with swiss cheese, smoked ham,a dash of dill rolled in spiced crumbs and baked till crunchy
Ooh, I seem to have come in at the right time. Fetches plate and knife and fork.
That sounds really good, crossy.
lol sally
Sounds delicious. Unfortunately, I'm a (albeit reluctant) vegetarian.
shhhh haz is digging for some info....
Hello, sally. We're trying to bribe Dr-G. Quick, think of a fish dish.
baileys veggie cheesecake??
I do a wicked fish pie with sweet potato and bacon.
good morning Dr. God, will we still have lickety's clues?
crossy whips up a vegetarian lasange...
Cough. Vegetarians don't eat fish.
Not even smoked salmon?
Savoury mushroom loaf? To die for, I'm told.
oh sally..i would kill for you home made fish pie
You guys, forget the food. Ply him with liquor.
He's probably teetotal.
lol molly
Puzzling over how you can be a reluctant vegetarian. Is there an invisible force field round every butcher's shop?
I do eat fish. I'm technically a pescetarian.
now your talking molly..crossy has a bottle of everclear round here somewhere..started the truck with it the other day...
Hooray! Smoked salmon can be part of the bribe.
lol
So - free-range eggs from Sally's hens scrambled with smoked salmon?
755 alcohol by volume, amazing stuff,do not spill on bars skin or carpets
And liquor, Dr-G?
75%
and served with a bottle of everclear from cross
I don't drink much either, I'm afraid. But the eggs and salmon does sound good. ;)
I'd tell you anything, Sally, for scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.
Yes, I did boggle at what seemed to be 755 percent.
k..now we have him stuffing his face..lets dig for info
Hang on - what are we bribing him to do?
That's official. Sally gets to cook for Dr-G. Your mission, should you choose to accept it is to find out all about the new babble.
Do I get to wear the leather trousers (note to self, go on instant diet).
For those who may not know about it yet, there is a Facebook page for Babble. I post all major updates and hints about the new site there. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=106468556072681
no leather trousers, dont like our ladies smelling like a saddle..lol
eww..facebook
Yes, Dr_G, I look at it patheticaslly from time to time to see what's new.
But it's exciting for us non-facebook people to be talking to you directly.
i go there to check my virus settings...
Beats George Clooney eh, Haz?
I wouldn't go that far.
ty Dr_God i didnt know about the fb page
(Sorry, Dr-G)
now where are all these s,s hiding...
For those non-FB-ers, I'm working on an Achievements system. Players can earn badges by accomplishing various tasks/milestones.
I'll just slink quietly out, pardon for interrupting an ongoing conversation
Dr. God, fresh ground coffee, fancy tea? Help us out here.
after the r's
very cool dr g
ty sadie..your a real help my dear...
well I thought that was very helpful....yw :)
for the last 2 years,my milestone has been to finish a grid lol
last help guys i think its the 2nd sa 6 21 i need , not the one that could be to do with mental health ish !!!!!!
sa6/21 - sa, a consonant, last three letters are a mixed up feline. (think Holy in Latin)
ty haz
where is my latin anagram book...crud....
You're welcome, sadie.
I thought you had your latin anagram book with you all thetime, crossy.
i misplaced it when i was drinking scotch and looking up the word cwms
hmmm, anagrams of latin: a lint or at nil.
The only anagram bit is the feline, though.
La nit - the French baby louse.
And husband home, so I'd better head to the kitchen and rattle some pots!
bye Haz!
mm whats for dinner?
I would be drinking Scotch too if I was looking up cwms.
lol molly
thee is a reason they make some of the worlds best there

i am dead confused now, my last word is sa 6 21 the 2nd back x
oops one ......

ma plus an anagram of what you do in a chair
ma5 12 what holds sails on the centre of a ship, add 3rd vowel in to it ??
thanks...i am a dope!
I ty also :)
better clue sally xx any ideas for my sa 6 21 2nd one driving me nuts!!!!!!!
I think Haz just gave a clue, last three letters are an anagram of a feline. Think of a holy place of refuge.
sounds like a decaffeinated coffee with an extra consonant
It does? Not a coffee I've ever heard of stevedallas.
sure it does; comes in those little packets
Not in every country in the world, though.
that one sounds like the 6 24 i have x
You wanted the second one, didn't you lucy?
The second 6 21 that is.
i think i am going dooooolallyyyyyy, !!!!!!!i have one 621 but iam confused to which one i have as not getting your clues...... because i can be daft at times ,,,,
Right, there are two sa 6/21s. The first one is the past tense of the sa 4/4 before it, and sounds like when you have spilt something on something, minus a consonant.
got that one x
The second one is s plus an indefinite article plus an anagram of one of the animals in my profile picture!
The one I am apparently a lover of :-))
And the words ends up with a latin ending.
Lucy, is it Mr. Claus with the third letter in the middle that you're trying to get?
Excellent clue mollyL!
And I must go and eat supper. Back later.
oh my god finally a biggggggg biggggg thankyou for all ya help fireworks..............
Yay For Lucy!!!
what a nightmare this grid just boggled me, muddled the brain........
AMELU! multi-tasking?

vddd, don't you know about Lickety's list?
not really
i haven't been babbling very long
ooooh, it's a great aid, vddd....

none of which I got b4 lickety
it's a big help -- just go down below the grid to Friends of Babble, right-click on Lickety's Babble Clues to open it in a new window. It gives you the first 2 letters of each word, its length, and its points.

ty for the clue
I only have the one so far, vddd
well done, NB ;)
oh, wait...I have another!!!!

I really should be getting lunch
LOL Pini. Because it IS a skill.
that's also a health food brand name down here
Lickety helps, eh vddd?
ill get this grid done one way or the other ty again for the clue
You're too cute, NB! LOL
nancy, I don't know if I remembered to tell you -- I showed the drawings your friend did of you to my son, and he was really, really impressed.
NB...the little celebrity and he didn't even know it! :)
NB definitely is a celebrity in babbleland! :)
I hope I'm cute enough to own a Canadian. Been reading your profile - I lol'd ;) And thanks for passing that on, Trif...Frank is an astoundingly good artist
own a canadian? huh??? LOL
NB, does Frank sell any of his art?
I know a few Canadians I'd like to offer for sale...
ROFL
thx NB...that was a fun post...
He doesn't, Jill - I think he prefers to keep it as a personal thing. Some of the drawings he's done of me are about three years old now. And in varying states of undress, so he'd better not sell those ;)
...unfortunately, faculty/students here are beginning the afternoon barrage...I'd best be going for now. cya l8r g8rs! {{hugs all around}}
Well, he could do other subjects, NB...he's SO good!
Bye pini -- au revoir
later, Pini - nice to see you :)
Aw, thanks on his behalf, Jill! I think he's scared that if he does it for money, he'll stop enjoying it so much. He must draw at the command of his muses, dahhhling ;)
Well, if his muses let him draw various things for his own aMUSEment, and they look wonderful, couldn't he have a little exhibition and see what happens?
wow, monkeys found all 5 su words!
I have actually heard that about artists, and other types of crafters, Nancy - if they begin to take money for doing something they love, they stop loving it as much.
Taking commissions may be antithetical to following the muse, but having people pay you for the things you made because you loved it just makes it even sweeter!
You just have to remember that the love comes first and the money is a bonus, and not the other way around.
well, what I did was commercial art anyway, so I guess my attitude was a bit different. But it was indeed hard to part with paintings I did otherwise.
And it's wonderfully freeing to feel that you can spend what you need to on decent materials without "wasting" your money, if the art can pay for itself.
oh Jill, I never knew you were arty! I would love to see some of your work some time, if that'd be alright with you.
(ANd hello. Sorry to barge in on the conversatioN!)
hello vicuna!
How are you, Trif?
Well, he works as a massage therapist. I should definitely encourage him to keep doing that, because oh my god, the free massages...the free massages, oh my god.
it would be hard to show you, NB, because some was just advertising (but "different") done in the 50s and 60s usually with verses included. Hard to reproduce here! But some day I'll get around to taking pix of the others -- lots were pastel portraits of children so I only have a few of those. And landscapes.
Hi vicuna -- that' wasn't barging in, it was adding to!
It's nice to have friends with useful skills, eh, NB? =)
Sounds lovely, Jill - I'd be very interested to see those, if you do get round to it :)
I am feeling a bit guilty about not being out in the garden -- mid day babbling its sooooo indulgent! I think I shall away for a bit, and see you all later, I hope!
and now I must go and get that lunch -- lots to do elsewhere after that, including getting a flu shot.
see you later jilli - i had my flu jab about a fortnight ago
Oh, I was feeling the same, Trif - so nice here today! But I've got two boys inside that need an eye on them.
Goodbye, jillibus.
nice to see you, Jill - hope the flu jab doesn't make you feel too bad! x
And goodbye, Trif.
Too cold here today for gardening :(
8 to go, so it's ttfn, back later.
Hello everybody :-)
I'll be off too, I think. No rest for the wicked and I...well, I'm pretty wicked ;)
ooops...but hi and bye, Soodle! :)
Hello, Soodle; goodbye, NB!
Pretty, anyway, NB! Bye for now!
((((NB))))
Hi and bye soodle!
Soodle sniffs her underarms and wonders if she should change deodorants....
Soodle, I have delightful Irish neighbours now, from County Down, up north.
Oh how lovely Jillibus. They wouldn't be too far from Haz - she is in Co Antrim!
He is a retired doctor and best-selling novelist -- she is a well known artist.
Whats their surname, if its ok to ask?
Have you heard of the book "An Irish Country Doctor"?
I remember you telling me about them before, Jilli. I googled the book.... still haven't got around to reading it yet...
her name is Tinman
But, sure, your blessed to have Irish neighbours (!!)
Sorry, I forgot I'd told you.
Must go, and all the best to you...
I had forgotten too, Jilli. My poor old head is gone astray. See you soon....
*semi-poof*
Semi-bye, I guess! =)
Lol Vic!
Morning everyone. Hi Vi!
Hello, lynxxx!
Hey Lynxx.
hi Soodle, how is that pup going, stopped eating everything?
Lyn - he is driving my head nuts.....So disobedient, so uncontrolable, so much a puppy!!!
Poor Soodlehead.
I keep telling him he is going back to the rescue centre... and he just laughs at me and wags his tail. I am drive demented!
'driven'
Oh dear. You need to get on top of it otherwise you willl have an uncontrollable dog for the rest of his life. I know because we had one the same. Back to obedience school
(Soodle seems to think she wasn't demented before. We'll let her blame it all on the puppy.)
Vic - I will blame it on the dog to the day I die!!!!!
lol
Well, this is me off, now. Farewell, everyone... and show that puppy who's boss, Soodle!
On the positive side - he is so loving I can turn a blind eye to a lot of his misdemeanors. Bye Vic!
Bye Vicuna
How is life with you, Lyn?
Pretty OK thanks Soodle. Its Spring so that makes you get up/out and do stuff which is always good.
Oh, how I envy you. The evenings are getting darker here and the trees are losing their leaves. I absolutely HATE the long dark nights. You enjoy the Spring!
6 more yippee lol

any clue for ma5/22 not jewish word
hi vddd ... I think you need to change the last letter of the other ma5/22 to another vowel.
thanks
that worked
good ... glad to have helped.
very quiet in here now, but if anyone needs a clue I AM HERE FOR A FEW MORE MINUTES.
OOPS ... sorry for shouting lol!!
i need 2 more--sa 6/24 and sa 7/36
May I have a clue for the su6,24 and su7,36 please?
largest star + teenagers slang reply for no-then add plural
vddd ... sa6 ....sa + double consonant + not down. then plural.
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you mo. :o)
THANK YOU
yw.
well done vddd!!!!!
vddd ... are you new to this game?
must be off now ... goodnight all and happy babbling.
vddd plays other word games. does that count?
at least, they do if they are who i think they are, lol
brid ... who do you think they are .... please tell!
they play this game called serpentine at games.cobradragon.com with the same name.
i think...
it's a time limit type of site. 2minutes to a board instead of all day.
oh! I only asked if he/she was new to this game as I have never seen the name before.
quite a few people play both. we're all word addicts.
well hello ladies!
ty ... must look at that site tomorrow. must go now .... poof ....
haha...more addiction! cya
hey temple
hello brid
just watched The Girl Who Played with Fire -- Lisbeth against the world -- wahoo!!!
une, i thought only the first book was out in film
second one on DVD today from Redbox -- third one comes to our local arthouse theatre in November
soooo stoopid that they're making an American version -- jeez
can't wait for tonite's Glee tribute to Rocky Horror Picture Show :-)
hi my cloisters buddies
hey, dorens!!
saw the girl who playd with fire, did you like it une?
hi doren!
yes -- just finished watching 5 minutes ago!
doren, that youtuibe exhibit at moma sounded great, i so want to visit this year
i agree, to -- looked fabulous
i don't know anything about it owl, but will look into it... my daughter is a moma member, so i'll see what i can do
basically it was for last weekend only.
i am so NOT the culture maven this year, don't know what's going on at all.. i seem to phase in and phase out
at least the outdoor display
BTW we survived the wild and woolly weather today!
good to hear une.
whew . . . tornado warnings all day . . .
did not hear about it but that is certainly good
anyone for a clue before i skeedaddle?
TO, lots of places weren't so lucky
(technical term meaning i don't wanna do my laundry)
brid you don't usuallly chat?
good to hear, sounds like it was pretty widespread
brid, any clues for the top left a?
weather certainly has been weird lately... brid, you can stick around cause we might ask for clues. laundry will wait
have st, na, su -- fourth "7"?
i'm basically quiet. with periods of far too much chatting few and far between. lol
lol
sa une
x
oh i can identify brid. i chat much too much when i do it, and then somedays don't at all
*tx
az5/22--it's actually a+ z4/10 (if you've got it). If not... az+ vowel + adj ending
but i do it too often, i think
sa 7/36, a plural of sa6/24
thanks, brid... I had neither but now I have both
so what are the stats on the na 7? that is the only one i didn't have
(or maybe i should just go look for lickety, i'm down to 43)
na7/32 a plural of na6/21
sure, but then i'd have to do my laundry
oh, is there lickety now? wasn't last nite
clue for the sa7 please?
oh i don't know, was just hoping.
sa sounds kind of like what happens at dawn, but sa instead of su
that would be the sa6 -- sa 7 is plural of it
are the words from the bottom
a obscure
cool -- tx!!
and if you think about extending what rises at dawn, it'll give you the su's
and there is a lickety
ok, found the na6/7.... that is definitely in the strange word category for me, at least
me too LOL
does it have a definition?
i happened on those su's, happily
dwarfism
ty
which is perhaps more than i should say. oops
wondering how i'm going to find four more from the lower s... am i just being obtuse?
that means i'm off too laundry
cya!
wow, those su's are so odd
bye, brid
enjoy all those clean clothes, brid
ok, feeling wear - break time
later owl
still no clue for that a
down to 38 andd still don't have the lower a's
it's a small bug
ap5 bugs on my roses
thanks lisa. love that word
yw
firewords!!
yay une!
yay une!
tx and I'm off to cook my eggplant :) *poof*
hello, help with da6 pls

hello {{{{{{{MOM}}}}}}}}}}} and all my other peeps! Hi MollyL!
not the plural of co 4 5?
yes they are doing a remake of It... itll be out in 2012..

Mside, hello, it is all passed us now. The wind was nasty.
apps
Lil Monkey, it was 76 before the storms and then down to 52
oooh I can't wait for the cooldown
Mside, are you expecting bad weather?
nm fireworks
it snowed a little here
congrats Peri, and hello
wTG peri!
Cos, whoa. Hold up the Soul Train. A remake of "It"??? No, say not so. It would tarnish the original.
yeah peri!
no, luckily... I'm in NH and usually we get the weather from the Midwest, but it looks like we'll get spared on this one
(((((MOM)))))) Happy Birthday!!!!
(((((Molly))))) hello and thank you
yeah but tim curry is supposedly gonna be in the remake as well and it will be a theaterical release not made for tv so itll be really scary and bloody apparently
phew, glad to hear that Mside
Mom, I hope you had a great day celebrating yourself.
anyway.. about that co5/14? :)
Molly, it has been a good day.
BRB
gappy birthday mom!
If they did a re-make of "It" without Tim Curry it would be a crime against nature.
happy i mean
co + you might rent these (abbreviate it) not condos but ****
thank you Cosdem
thanks mom! ive been asking for a clue for the past half hour lol
singular for the 5 and plural for the 6
you are so welcome
Mom, glad to hear that. Every lovely lady deserves a lovely birthday. Tossing rose petals and sparkly white light your way.
oh Molly, I think thou dost not know me very well :-)
I appreciate the kind words
and the gestures
I dost, Mom. ; )
lol
Cos, as for you, don't go asking for a grid clue and then blow me out of my Stephen King mind game by mentioning a re-make of "It". I'm still breathing into a brown paper bag.
lol.. did u see what i said after that?
Yes, I put the bag down now. All could be well. And perhaps they can cast a better version of Bev.
yes definitely
bty anyone else see Tim Curry in the Criminal Minds episodes... almost as scarey as pennywise!
i did like jonanthan brandis and john ritter.. too bad both are in pennywise's world now :)
i mean.. :(
Hi, can't believe they are remaking "It". Thanks for posting cosdem. It came out when my nephew was really little and my sister watched it with him and he still has nightmares to this day about it. We always laugh about it.
Hi Angelina
lol i couldn't sleep for 2 days when i saw it.. i was in 4th grade.. everyone in my class was terrified my teacher had to cancel class and take us outside to play to calm us down
hi mom
lol that's too funny
but now i love pennywise lol
Shame on you Cos. Neither Ritter nor Brandis went to Pennywise World. They are in the better place for sure.
lol molly - yes i agree. i was trying to be funny
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JbozZ6 wvAc&p=77A15C0781A46DBA&playnext=1&ind ex=8
may I have the stats for the i in the first row, please
Pardon Cos. I sometimes don't get "dark funny". I was sad to read about Brandis. He seemed to have amazing potential.
is 4 beliefs
is 4 5
thanks Angelina and Jmb (and hello Jmb)
yes. i had a massive crush on him. i even styled my hair the way he did and i watched seaquest dsv religiously he had such potential and could have been a major leading star today
hi mom!
help with the z's I have za zi & zo all 4/10
Heya to Otoscope who posted the "He pounds his fists against the posts". Another "It" fan.
Hi Mary, those are the only ones I have as well
I think it is "He thrusts his fists...
thx Mom will keep looking
Hi Jessmom
zo 4,9 babblet with vowels and za 4 changes the vowel in the zi 4
Okay, we are all about "It" here. I love it.
hi all, love the conversation. "It" is one of my favorite King books.
i should put in the movie tonight
ty angelinea
the book was really homoerotic in some scenes though
Angelina, do you have the 4th word?
esepcailly with henry bowers
zo + part of frozen water
thank you very much.
yw
I have been a King fan since "Carrie". I love "It" for it's simple message. "Don't be scared of your monsters." He conveyed that so well in that story.
have made it halfway, time to call it a night. ((Hugs)) to all of you and thanks for the great clues.
Goodnight birthday girl.
all his books have simple messages.. like the Stand.. "be good, believe in God, or you're f***ed"
pleasant dreams Molly
Thanks Mom, back atcha.
good night molly
Cos, if you tell me the are doing a re-make of "The Stand" I may have to melt down for a few days.
oh i havent heard or read anything about that
Have you seen the comic books?
but i have to say the remakes of both the shining and salems lot were a lot, lot better and much more loyal to the books
carrie's remake wasn't good though
There are now comics that are a prequel to The Dark Tower, and they are working on The Stand.
or I should say, The St5/12
clue for the ha5/24?
Wow, cosdem. And some think I wear a lot of slap!
I found the re-make of "The Shining" very interesting. King had copped to being an alcoholic at that point and the re-make dealt more with Jack's alcoholism than it did with the mental illness slant in the Kubrick film.
hm i didnt know that molly.. thanks for the info.
Oh. read his book, "On Writing". He chronicles his addiction problems and the accident that almost killed him.
i did appreciate that in the remake they used a croquet and not an axe.. which was what the jack nicholson film should have used.. and i have to say shelley duvall is a terrible terrible actress.. and the hedges in the remake version was terrifying
hello everyone!
hey jc!
On briefly, will dive into grid...but wanted to say hi to everyone
hi jilly
Hi, blueheron - glad to know someone can see me!
ha 5/24... the meat you eat for Easter dinner + wow**

Oh, crossy - are you in a town called Whitby?

buenas noches, crossy
we're ready for walks on the beach, being close to the town( within walking distance) a mailbox on our door instead of driving 3 miles for mail. Everything is working out :)
Ah never mind - don't think this 'crosshair' is you after all. Noticed you have the Flickr photostream of 'CrossHare' instead of 'crosshair' in your Babble profile - is that the mix-up?
and maybe one day we will marry since it's legal in NH:)
sorry for rambling.
2 left su6/24 & 7/36 help anyone?
flickr mixed things up as you see ,they are crosshare and i am crosshair.before this i had no photos in flickrs
so at least they are spared looking at me every day lol!
Hmmm. What is your username on Flickr then?
crosshair
Just trying to see what the mix-up is?
jc..read back if you can:)
Ah. There are a few people/pages that result for that name in a search though - which is you?
i have been shuffled round their sustomer support, one day they will get to it i am sure
customer
su + double consonant + open up and say **
that clue is for su6
Sorry blueheron - did I miss something? Looked back but don't see anything else to me?
Gleek fans: tonight is the rocky horror episode.
Thank you for that clue, lil*monkey!
Yes. And the su7,36 that follows it. ;)

wow -- i hope if anyone here is in chicago they're ok... http://www.livescience.com/environment /etc/chicago-cyclone-worst-storm-years -great-lakes-weather-101025.html?utm_s ource=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_c ampaign=Feed%3A+livescience%2Fenvironm ent+%28LiveScience.com+Environment%29& utm_content=Google+Reader
cos, where do you live?
colorado springs.. but im from chicago. my familys stll there
(crossie) sniffle...you didn't say hi!
what's going on in Chicago?
weatjer, bad weather.
the worst storm in 70 years
Oh hell, blessing to all the Chicago-ites.
hey red
theyre calling it.,,, great lakes cylone
or.. Some are now calling the storm "Chiclone" or "Windpocalypse.
omg
i should call my mom soon
yes you should honey.
check thhis out
The storm is being billed as the Great Lakes Cyclone. Though by definition not a tropical cyclone, forecasters say this cyclone has very low pressure and could go as low as 960 millibars — that's the kind of low reading found in some of the most powerful hurricanes.
i did indeed (((blueheron))) i meven gave you a patented crossy big ole bear hug
i hope you and your family are all safe and sound cosdem
Sending blessings out to your Mom, Cos.
ill call later lol im too lazy to get up :P

I'll take the reeses:)
thats what i thought! :)
thanks jc:)
I love reeses! yum
the scariest part of halloween? having to give away all of your resses
thanks for the bear hug Crossie:) One back to you sweetie.
reeses
the little ones with peanut butter? yummmm!
did you see that ad on TV?
yes blue i did lol
I did, and they are so right!!
Only buy treats that you like...just in case:)
i konow. i may have to buy another bag of candy tomorrow.. maybe dum dums or smarties lol
or these gross black and orange wrapped PB candy
we give those to the pushy kids
do they still make the pineapple coconut dum dums? Or rootbeer?
Crossy ~ The Stand is better than just a good book. It's a great book! A real mind f**k book.
good idea!
Stephen King is an evil genius.
Yes they Blueheron. We always have dumdums in the house.
yes he is Minski. I still love him:)
to both.
i love all his earlier stuff, after he got hurt, his stuff changed
when he was Bachman Crossie?
wife fave are insomnia needfull things
well not that early, but his bachman stuff is good as well.i love "the long walk"
how about The Shining?
shining is good, believe it or not,out of all his short stoy collections my favorite collection is 'skeleton crew"
the movie version of the skeleton crew sucked.
the ledge, quitters inc and the last rung on the ladder
i do not watch stephen king movies other than the shining
I'm trying to remember that, I know I read it. What about the short story where a person was stranded on an island and consumed himself?
the movie versions almost always dissapoint the exeptions that comes right to mind is the green mile
Shawshank Redemption is a good movie crossy
yes that as well
but he only did that as a screenplay
how about the Green Mile?
that is true of most good novels, crossy
was never a full book per se
or am I confusing it will the Green Mile?
both are prison movies
i have the green mile in a limited 6 book chapter play version
yes, so do I.
green mile has a supernatural touch to it while shankshaw didn't
you're right on cos.
cost a bundle and the second i got the last one they put it all out in a single book;(
shawshank is just good movie period,no creepy crawlies
then again i love morgan freeman
him and clint eastwood in million dollar baby rocked
I agree with both statements crossy.
ill bbl.. Glee is on.
but King wrote Shawshank didn't he?
There's a book called The Walk.. I downloaded it to my kindle..don't know where it's going, check it out if you can:)
i am downloading a interesting new movie called "buried"
he did indeed bugsaw
Buried in what Crossie?
i am currently reading a stephen R. Donaldson series
a casket...alive
my favourite of his is The Stand which began this whole thread
Crapola?
i have re-read the stand many times,if you do not have the unedited version get it.it has 160 more pages give or take
nasty..that's why I will be cremated.
much of it fleshing out the adventures of the trash can man
i also wish to be cremated
egads, what have i walked into!
it was so easy and they handled everything for my M.i.l when husband passed 2 weeks ago
stephen king books and cremation welki
alot of ashes!!:)
sorry welki.
they did all the govt paperwork for her and widow pension apps, took care of everything
for 1600 dollars!! amazing me getting our poor old cat orginized cost more than that
that's wonderful Crossie. I plan to go like that, no cost to my partner or kids.
it was soo easy and stress free for her
and they chose a lovely urn solid brass and weighs a ton,lol
After all, it's only our shell..not our soul.
that is so true blueheron
Our soul still lives:)
why bury a 5000 dollar casket, then 3 or 4 grand for the services, then you have to actually buy a burial plot..would of cost 12 grand by the time everything was done
yes blue herin 'the soul in which the flower grows survives"
It'a just crazy!! My ashes will be strewn over the nearest ocean. A place I love and feel free.
here is the full poem blueheron....
Something there is in beauty which grows in the soul of the beholder like a flower: fragile-- for many are the blights which may waste the beauty or the beholder-- and imperishable-- for the beauty may die, or the beholder may die, or the world may die, but the soul in which the flower grows survives.
thought you may like it
Cross is a man of fine words. Me, I'm patiently waiting for the film version of "Duma Key". I think it will be quite good with the right casting.
duma key looks good,i read a preview chapter
Thank-you sweetie:)

*waves at the rest of the room and scatters choclits*
YES~!!! I am HOME!!!! (and I REFUSE to do any school-related work this evening)
stid!!! I have not visited with you in ages!! How did the teaching go?
hi stid!
is anyone here finished?
It is still going... I am worried Bugs. I have one more "lesson" tomorrow for the kids who are making puppets for their presentations, and then I have to let go and let them either do or not do...
I have 1 left and it does not exist
Presentations next week Weds-Fri. Any and all good thoughts for my students muchly appreciated!!!
go bugs go!
hey TO! *happy smile*
OC6/21 plural of OC5/12
It is the letting go that is the hardest for us and the best for them tho.
smdjv, ty!
SMDNJV!!!!! *faint*
yes, bugs -- letting them decide to try, and grow -- or decide to not try and not grow. At some point the teacher's attempts at motivation can only go so far.
much obliged
the best part is witnessing some kids going far beyond your expectations!
Hi Stid....had a stroke a couple of years ago and can't type as fast as I once did so I do not "chat" much.
yw TO
oh gee... I am sorry to hear that. but so happy you are here now! (((gentle hugs)))

Thx Stid...I have kept up wih everyone I just don't chat much unless I see someone stuck for a clue.
welcome back to the chat today Smdnjv. I love your icon write up -- the part about the wedge!
thanks TO. I am very blessed to be here. Am raising two of my grandchildren so I am very glad that I was not greatly damaged by the stroke

belief in our friend cyber, stid

good clue LA!
thanks buff!
stole it from someone earlier, but sadly cannot remember who
how's teaching goin, stid?
sa 6/7?
sa + double con + not down
ah thanks
well... you know... it goes. *shrug* I think some of them are learning AND having a good time. Some are learning. Some are having a good time. And some are doing neither, much at all!
well, those who are learning and having fun will of course benefit the most, and those who are not learning will have to learn the hard way.
some kids I really wanted to help are getting upset and resistant. some I was worried about are really coming through. some are very uptight and anxious, and I really don't know how to help them calm down -- it IS a big project. BUT I am not asking for them to do anything they haven't already done really...
just remind them that they know this stuff, they can do it. lots of positive reinforcement especially those who are anxious.
they don't seem to "get" that I am looking, not for MY standard of perfect, but for them to show that they are growing and stretching.
yep. that's my plan!
positive positive positive.
for some they may have extraordinary standards, and if it isn't perfect in their eyes, it's wrong. sad, but even at that age the perfection thing is there.
yes, and I have one class-full of those kids, who are anxious if they lose one point on a single assignment. I feel so sorry for them!
that whole perfectionist thing that is so encouraged by our society and the overachieving community they live in.
oi! poor kids! run a project of mistakes. where they have to make mistakes to get points.
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
wish I had time to do that, LBD.
hi Min! welcome to the grid! how are you this evening? i'm freezing!
I can only point so many times to the rubric that tells them what to aim for.
hey Min! welcome to the grid!
use it as a filler. 10 minute gap time whilst you're taking roll or something.
might could. Thanks LBD!
I am doing well. Not freezing. It was 70 degrees today
okay, supper is ready. back later to make an attempt at my last 41!
