that reminds me -- went tasting at a new one last weekend and ended up buying a case of a varietal I'd never heard of before -- ortega -- a lovely full bodied white
It is a good show. Not all autistic people are like that but they do like routine and things they are familiar with, like the underwear at Wallmart or whatever place it was.It is funny until you have to live with it.
we7 x 2. and I hope it's not those words that remind you of your tasting, nan!
of course it is!
Only 71 s0 far, but I need a cuppa.

def of sq= of an electrical or electronic circuit, to oscillate intermittently
top 2 rows grey :)
lol ru
especially if they take it all the way home
Thanks, ruru. ;)
well whaddayaknow, intermittent is my favourite kind of oscillation!
it past tenses to JC
I'm SO distracted by this movie!
lol
Oh that definition helps me tremendously, VolleymomDee - seeing as I'm such an expert on electrical matters. I am. I'm shocking.
Yes, ruru...
Got all of the related ones, thank you. :)
which movie jilli?
well.. that would make sense you'd get them all JC..;)
lol jc
Rain Man, ruru -- sw it years ago but now through new eyes
I adore that movie
Tom Cruises very best movie
actually Tom Cruises only good movie
See, I didn't even realise he was in it -- only focussed on Dustin Hoffman then.
volley, have you got another clue for me please for the we6/33? gone grid blind and more words isn't helping
Quite, ruru. ;)
hoffman is superb in the movie
saw a really interesting, thought provoking, poignant, tear jerker movie (with subtitiles) "My Name is Khan"
i know it starts with pig piddle, but after that, i'm at sea
I wasn't kidding, Dee - have you watched my clips? :P
we 6/33 is past tense of we 4/8 gort
oh good, gort -- I'm not the only morewords user who goes blind even so!
gort we 6/33 is a past tense
fireworks for me, too. and goodnight all!
add a consonant to pig piddle then pt it

I can't find one word from the E in the second column from left. :/
I had the most amazing wine tonight
I just fireworked and all I have to say is lol at the we7s. I feel like I'm 5 years old but still, that made me laugh.
Erm, Jill - check my bio. :P
yqw *poof*

And for that matter, YOUR email?
JC that E is spooky
weird, JC
It's one I have seen and heard many times and appreciated, but didn't think of just lately for some reason - so I was glad you reminded me. ;)
haven't had time this evening, JC -- had Happy Hour here
Yes. It certainly is...
what wine was that, ruru?
What's weird, cybernan?
Ah, that E?
the e you are looking for
2005 Michel Lafarge Volnay Clos de Chenes
GOT IT!
Think of the festivity fast approaching.
allo! allo!

Ghosts, goblins...
hey ho pavie
Hello, Sir PAV. ;)
hi pav
no a Pinot Noir nan
what kind of wine, ruru?
A Red Burgundy jilli
ah, Pinot Noir -- hard to perfect, I hear.
Dame Jilli, Sir JC, miss nan and ruru!
did you see my comment earlier about my new find?
my friends fell out of their chair tasting it
I still have a bottle of champs in the fridge...
I didn't, nan
Oh yeah Nan.. I've never heard of Ortega
* jumping up / down * me, too, Pav! :)
please describe, ruru
I made dinner for a few friends
I hadn't either
I missed dear Pini?!!!
I'll read up on it.. love learning new thinigs

and the menu, ruru...?
thank goodness I get new eyewear next week!
seared scallops on truffled potatoes,
sheesh, with the interesting chat and the movie I'll never get this grid done
may I have a seat at your next table ruru?
californian wine ruru and is it a pinot noir or a burgundy?
oh yum, ruru -- and ared with that?
spinach salad with feta, pomegranite seed, and jicama

Hello all! HAIR was fantastic!! Great production with some references to Afganistan as well as Vietnam.
yes, Yes, YEs and YES!
it's a french wine nan
Hi jj! (do you mind jj to avoid confusion?0
hi jilly (with a Y)
Not in the least sis!!
ok and when I asked you said pinot and when jill asked you said burgundy, so which is it?
can't have too many jilli's around here
Hiya Pav!
Oh good :)
or ruru's!!
Red Burgundy is Pinot Noir Nan
Hmmm. Should the rest of us change our names to either Jilli or ruru then?
My guess is that this pinot noir came from Burgundy
Almost all Red Burgundy is Pinot Noir.. 99.9%
or Bourgogne
ok -- I'll take your word for it -- all I know is that we were drinking Burgundy in Burgundy and Pinot Noir just north of Lyon.
Actually, my middle name is Corinne...which makes me a JC too!! :)
Are you a real Jill, jj, or a Gillian like me?
I should be JC too.. my Dad would always yell at me "Jesus Christ!"
A 'real' Jill...lol
LOL, oh ruru!!
Did you find it at a store that is also in Palm Desert area ruru? -- thinking that a bottle would fill hubby's stocking at Christmas and we will be down there over Christmas this year.
no.. I bought it in New Orleans
I know a nice one you can find down there though nan
I gave up Gillian when I hit the USA from England and got called Gideon, Julian (!), Gilliam (hard G) and was put in the boys' gym class at age 13 -- embarrassing.
Oh dear. I am going to hide in here for a bit. :/
oh -- too bad -- however I have written it down and will keep my eyes open. The other one?
when do you head down this year?
Away from the current discussion taking place on MSN, that is.
Although generally, he prefers a merlot
They are plotting...
hide? you? * giggle *
that one is really hard to find nan.. very little comes over from france
So now I have to go to mns, right, Julian?
We will be there Dec. 15 - March 15
Oh no. I've had it now. :/
You always should, Jill - you miss much. ;)
I mean msn...
i have 19 for 17 and missing hte 2nd col E for NBT
JC, I can't do msn and babble at the same time
He should try 2007 Selene Merlot Frediani Vineyard
Hmmm. I can - Alt-Tab. ;)
<< I can walk and chew gum at the same time
I mean mentally, JC
<-- can't type too well wehn tired
I know ruru -- remember scouring the shops to find anything other than California wine when we were there. Your shops have no Canadian wines either -- mind you the really good ones never make it out of BC
nbt :)
* wh4
Ty ruru
there is very little Canadian wine down here other than Burrowing Owl and Inniskilin
JC, this is morning for you and bedtime for me -- tired here.
I can rollerblade and tell jokes at the same time - does that count?
<-- fading fast, too
Burrowing Owl is ok (about 40 miles south of us), but don't care for Inniskilin.
it might, jc
EARLY morning. I'm probably more tired - more sleep as soon as I finish this grid.
I can rub my tummy and pat my head at the same time.
I like their Pinot Gris nan
I used to sleep while doing transcription! :)
Can you whistle dixie at the same time Fauxmage?
and I can ....hmmm. what can I do?...
I can't carry a tune
I can carry a bucket...
...of water...
...up a hill!
With a tune in it?
...and not go falling down!
well, thank good ness , ruru! tunes were not meant to be carried...sung, perhaps but not carried...
I'll give it a try jhb.
Well I can't sing any - hence I 'speak' my songs. :P
<shoulders a Tune and drops it.. see what I mean?
I USED to play clarinet and bassoon...
wow bassoon? really?
that must have been really "heavy" ruru...
Not as good as Sumac Ridge or Tinhorn Creek, but you would never see those as they are sold out almost as soon as they are released every year. I think I like this Ortega varietal even better -- I bought a 2007 vintage and usually the white wines we get don't store that long before starting to turn.
<-- faked clarinet because they needed bodies in the marching band!
Faking a clarinet?
No. I won't say it...
Too bad about your non-singing, JC -- you have a lovely voice.
Please dont go there JC
not always nan
Erm, not singing I don't, Jill - you've heard me try. Remember "Wanderin' Star"? :P
I didn't, jhb...
imagine an idiot in fujll marching gear in the dead of winter on a freezing football field...with a bassoon...(minus the mouthpiece. tee hee, I'm no idiot!)
* sighs with relief *
is a clarinet considered a horn ?
Thank you for reminding me though, Jill - I'll add a link to that clip. Everyone can have a good laugh at my expense. :P
lol pavie
no, a reed
oh yeah
close enough, ru...and it's really tough to play without a re4
clarinets are woodwinds (9 reeds)
JC, I like your Que Sera, sera ;)
did you pretend to be blowing pini?
right you are pav
Are there videos?
so to speak, ru
not getting anywhere with this -- stuck with 24 to go
...Pini! hence my fondness for marching in the dead of winter with a bassoon and no music coming from
not of me, ru!!!!! (thank goodness)
that's right, pav!!!!
does anyone have the 9?
we ain't dumb!!!
band director was clueless...

(for nbt and pillow)
I had to Foster up a clue for that one
pondering wh5 chickens go...other than into the freezer for me to ignore come dinner time...
I would never have found that one ru, thanks
spooky, pini
oy vey!!! shoot me now!

but that got me NBT...thx jilli ;)

<-- has gun, no bullets
I'll pass on the sardine, jilli ;)

There's an article in this month's La Cucina Italiana - sounds like a lovely wine m-- red and white, yes?
that's it -- off for a biscotti and some ortega before bedtime :)

Oh, that's a made-up word, surely.
seems to me we had a similar one for cats not too long ago, gapeach
you need a lot of cluck to find it
But thank you for the clue.
the Hanks is a good clue, Hank being another name for He***
Is it a brand of Scotch?
well I suppose if there are nunnaries
nope
I grew up in Punnaries
Damn, you're good ruru! Thanks
indeed ru, we should have guessed
Oh, thanks PAV, so much.

May I please have a clue for in6-21? Thanks
"not out there, but in6 21"
Thanks much, PAV3.
it's an odd one
good clue Pav
I borrowed from others in earlier grids...
Hey there, ursh.
it works, Pav
on occasion, a word clue gets stuck in my head even after flushing...for cobwebs , of course...
Judith, are you still here?
wi8-60 please....thanks.
pl of ruru's fav liquid store
peach? di you get the clue?
Not yet, PAV, thanks, I'm still looking.
I know what the first four letters are.
houses of grapes, Mondavi, Berringer,
ok, I seem to be nodding off upright...34 left for the morning...ciao mes amis!
Got it, finally. Thanks so much, PAV3.
yvw
Sweet dreams, PAV3.
I'm down to 9....think I'll save them for later today.
Thanks y'all for the help.
hi and nbt
well, I left a while ago after only 36 words and now it seems hardly anyone is here -- maybe josh? (wtg, josh)
So I'll try for a few more words before heading for bed.
hi jilli, I think I am the only one here
hello katie -- how ar you doing?
(it's late, I'm tired, and the typo gremlin is in charge)
I'm good thanks jilli, what about you?
well, as I said, I'm tired, etc, lol!
lol
katie, if you have time, ust for fun watch the clip in my bio :-)
That's great Jilli
Thay don't make 'em like that any more, lol!
*they
well, that's it for tonight -- 31 left and going to bed -- goodnight anyone -- or good morning -- au revoir
Night, sleep well
you still there Katie?
yep
going shopping do you need anything?
we could do with a bloomer if you can get one
I so hope you are talking about a plant and not underwear
Hello all
I was going down the bread route :)
thank goodness for that I did indeed mean bread
what is bloomer bread?
(it's a large crusty loaf Lynxxx)
I'll presume it is in the shape of a pair of bloomers!
very slimming lol
Now you have us all wondering why it's called a bloomer
but it isn't how sad...we call that shape Vienna here
It's not made in a tin but more shaped like a football (US style)
must go - have to some running about to do after my daughter :)
bye Mari
bye mom see you later
we went shopping yesterday and bought 4 bottles of champagne, 20 bottles of wine and a bottle of spiced rum, that sould keep us going to Christmas lol
Oh sorry it was only 17 bottles of wine
Sure, we know it WAS 20 bottles before you (hic) drank 3
we have a rack which holds 44 bottles and another which holds 7 and we still have boxes in the garage! oh and a fridge full lol
Now if we had miitant teetotallers the way we have vegans, you'd be in for a lecture about your liver...
we have an online auction place here which also has wine, start at $9 for 12 bottles so we can usually get some at $30+ a dozen, not great great quality but OK
ahhh Haz but the important thing is that they are all full, many people I know wouldn't be able to keep that much undrunk lol
Good morning/evening all.
hi Haz
morning Haz
So you're just buying them for the nice bottles, really.
hubby is taking a fat tablet and then eating two slices of pizza for breakfast, i'm not sure he gets the point of the tablets lol
Keep the path clear for the loo.
lol - he does seemed to have missed the point
we just want people to say 'wow' when they walk into our dinning room. We have friends coming today so will top it up again tomorrow lol
He needs to learn Haz, thank goodness we are a two toilet household
I'd be inclined to agree, especially if he does experience the side effects of the tablets!
he is cutting down trees with Mr Mari this morning so it could be a challenge
They should ask FM for tips. She's very keen on using her chopping skills.
Luckily Dad knows what he is doing, the have a chainsaw, hard hats and goggles. I will be hiding in the house with 999 on speed dial
What will the cats be doing?
if they have any common sense they will be sleeping in the warm house and not playing with the fallen branches
Greetings all :)
Ah, good morning, FM!
are chopping skills girl is here :-)
morning FM
lol Hi Haz and Katie
How is it possible, if each of us is unique, to have common sense?
Evening lynxxx. Good question and hello BR.
Hello BabRab, great to see you
Good morning, BabbleRabble. We may each have unique characteristics but there are some instances where the normal response is the best. Like the terrier dog in the Cotswolds who decided that the man who exposed himself to his mistress needed to be bitten. That dog showed uncommonly good common sense.
oh ouch Haz!
very difficult to have sympathy wiith the victim though
I loved that story, especially since it happened in one of the towns we visited this year. The police response was that 'the dog seemed to have responded instinctively'. Thankfully I don't think the exposer is going to press charges. (Bitten on the arm)
But anyway, nice to see you, BabbleRabble.
thinking himself lucky to only be bitten on the arm lol
*blushing* I had presumed bitten elsewhere.
me too FM
Anyway, what sort of tree is going to be cut down or is there more than one for the chop?
Better go and do dinner. Bye all
Bye, lynxxx.
Toodles lynxxx
bye lynxxx
It's probably a small shrub Haz :)
cherry tree needs cutting back and a eucaliptus tree is coming down :-) I know that is spelt wrong but read it out and it should make sense lol Crumble on my lap and going to google to check the spelling is not an option
Eucaliptus trees are beautiful but can grow so huge and if planted in the wrong place can cause a great deal of damage.
Im sure Haz will correct us Katie.
Eucalyptus, I think. We had to take one down in our garden as well because it grew too big.
yep ours is getting too big, it is at the end of the garden but still needs to go before it is too big to deal with
The smell of the leaves is lovely and the blue-green colour is very attractive but if it's in the wrong place - chain-saw and goggles time.
This grid has lulled me into a false sense of security , down to 11 but have just realised what is left are all the biggies.
Think of ruru for one of the big ones.
I need to go and sort out the spare room and hang curtains. see you all later
Or, for that matter, Katie's dining room.
Ah! Bye Katie see you later.
See you later, Katie. And remember, the bottles are for decoration.
FM, did you see the picture in the paper yesterday of the baby elephant being caught by its trunk by a crocodile?
No I didn't! but have se4 similar on a documentary. Did it get away?
The poor little thing stood its ground until the rest of the herd came along and frightened the crocodile away.
*relief*!
A tourist in South Africa managed to get pictures, and yes, I was glad! Baby elephants are enchanting.
Sounds like the basis for Aesops Fables - How the Elephant got its trunk...
Yes, that was pointed out in some of the reports.
It's tremendous how the elephant herd moves around and looks out for each other.
We4 you affected by the broadband outage that covered parts of NI, Scotland and northern England last night?
No, it seemed to be okay.
Was it out for a long time?
good morning everybody
Not sure I only caught the tail end of the report on the beeb but it seemed to affect a very large area.
Morning ruby
Good morning, ruby.
hello everyone
I was on last night for a whle, but maybe it was off after that.
Hi Lile
Hello, Lile.
they expect us to find a 9 letter word in the grid today?
Back in 5 time for more tea.
The biggest I've come up with is the 8.
aha, so the 9 is not the plural of the 8? (which I don't have either... ;)
jumping in for 30 mins...
The 8 is a plural, but the singular isn't in the grid because it ends in a y.
hello ruby
hello lile
thanks, Haz. I'll look...
how cold is it in the UK? It is damp and gloomy here, dark enough to have the street lights on
It's not very cold, just damp.
Spangle proved how deaf she is last night. There was a fireworks display in the town and she didn't flinch where normally she'd be under the desk. I was the one doing the jumping.
Just found the 9, same ending as the wi8, but think in terms of eggs rather than bottles.
thanks for that Haz. It allowed me to find the 8! :)
You're welcome.
great clues, haz, thank you
Glad they helped, ruby.
We had sun and blue skies but now it has gone so dark and is pouring down. Knew I should have walked into the village earlier - I blame Babble.
nbt and almost half! nice grid this AM!
Come on, FM, you know you only have yourself to blame.
that means it will rain here on Monday -- maybe today, too, though
*le sigh*
morning all. how many words today please and does the 9 start with wi please
lol FM - I've never heard a french sigh before...
We're so hard on you, FM. But it's for your own good.
Sorry re Spangle Haz, didn't realise that she was having hearing problems.
116 sandra and hello
116 and the 9 doesn't begin with wi. It's he.
thanks
hello sandra
We just realised a few weeks ago that she's really not hearing very well at all. She can still perceive high-pitched sounds but doesn't respond to normal voices any more. It doesn't seem to bother her and last night, it was actually a bonus.
got the 9 thanks
so long as she is stillhappy thats the main thing.
You're welcome, sandra.
that's funny as husband's deafness takes out the high sounds, leaving only the rumbles
it's amazing how resilitent dogs are
sq5 - the result of trying to push a round egg through a square hole.
lol haz! nice clue :)
the we 6,7 and 7 and childish words...
And hopefully the egg was hard-boiled.
LOL I was surprise when I stumbled over that one earlier.
ty haz, monkeys found it
no, not hard boiled. Otherwise you wouldn't get the 'sq'
have you the points for sq please
It's been in before, but it doesn't just spring to mind.
lile, ty, but those can't really be words! hahah
sq5/20
thanks
Thanks Lile I was missing them, 6 left - r's and i's
and then there's phantom hot dog
yw fm
must go. Got an appointment at the sauna today . hmmmm :) see you all later!
Enjoy!
Bye, Lile.
lucky lile!
does it come with a massage?
thank you. byee (wave) ps: haven't booked a massage as yet.... but who knows?
just cannot get sq 5-20 any other clue please
sq plus the vowel that always follows q, then the first two letters of what you eat boiled, fried, scrambled.
what word is that. thanks for the clue
It's no good I am going to have to list.
You're welcome, sandra. I've never looked it up to see what it really is.
to oscilate in an irregular manner!
(of an electronic circuit or component) to produce an output that oscillates between a certain maximum and zero, esp. when due to the effect of a grid.
we all knew that, hahah
I like my square egg better.
and they probably mean this grid
you are all very clever this morning!!!
LOL ruby I was just thinking that.
Flipping re words. but got there in the end.
Well done!
do you call rutabzgas sw*** in the UK?
yes we do ruby.
here they just call them turnips (navets)
technically turnips and sw5 are 2 different things but they do seem to get lumped together.
good morning all
turnips seem much more like radishes
Good morning, varumba.
hi and bye varumba. off to make apero for husband
hi there haz, ruby FM :)
saving 39 for later (ho ho ho)
Morning var.
lol ruby... a bit early?
*poof* and thanks for the clues, haz
it's 11:30, lunch is at 12:15
Turnips have more orange flesh than sw5 and would be slightly bigger.
i have picked up difficult re words? i hate those.... never think of re words....
I thought it was the other way around, haz
Bye ruby.
here, the turnips are white and the sw5 are yellow
Not difficut re words just easy to forget to 're' everything.
true FM.. i suppose with time i'll temember those more easily
There are 10 to do again re words if I have counted properly.
oh tx for the clue!
i'll remember that when i get to it ;)
Agreed, FM.
Oh good I can always rely on Haz to sanity check me - relatively speaking ;)
*smug*
Or should that be *relatively smug*?
heh heh
Well, time I was getting ready for the usual Saturday morning shopping expedition. I'd better lay in some chocolate supplies for the trick or treaters.
The tropical downpour has passed and the sun has returned so I guess I should get my act together.
gl with that!
Nice to see you, FM and all the best with the grid, varumba. Bye!
TTFN and happy shopping Haz
*gone*

And all i have to look forward to is my honey sandwhiches & a cup of tea..lol
Well I didn't sleep well last night, was awake at 4.30 am, and then about once a month I completely strip the hen houses and spray them. I do that first thing, then come in and have my shower and breakfast. I felt I deserved it.
wow, you sure did! sounds like a tough job
Gosh, i would say so, Sally, you have done so much already.
Not tough, just takes about an hour to an hour and a half.
and here i am trying to get myself off this game to go gather leaves off the lawns and pathway.....
I can imagine it being rather dark at that time of the morning, hope you had plenty of lighting.
Oh no! I didn't do it at 4.30am, hens were asleep then, unlike me. Started at first light.
ok, 5 left... kinda stuck on them..... gonna lean up taht garden a bit and finish later

Nice to find a little group, rather than one he4 and there.
Don`t forget the words with the two `N`s together.
I think I've found four of those so far. Are there more?

Oh, LOL yes finaly got it!..i see why you think that..lol
giggle.
Still have the 8 to find, but don't want any hints yet, if you have it.
I do have it, so if you do need a hint, i will gladly try...although saying that you would hate yourself, if you did ask for a clue.
Got it! Is it too early to pour myself a drink :-))
LOL, i said that as it has the same ening as the nine.
you say you have hens, Sally...do you have the other bird in the grid.
No I don't think I do. Starts looking.
reshed
Ah, those birds! Yes I do have them, but they are plural so I wasn't switched on.

It's just life. I dreamed last night I was going on a cruise with some really old people, and I was asking them all if there was anything the liked about being old.
But in the dream there was one young person who was still breasfeeding a ten year old girl.
Any analysts out there?
It's such a good Freudian one.

Hi Owl, Visiting your Dad? How is he?
ooh, feeling any better?
why not "defs"? I say that at least twice a day.
So is "toque" the British spelling of Toke?
Owl, A little...trying to have patience with this "thing"
As in, taque a toque of thy blunt?
yes. he is very plagued with allergies. and it's been difficult.
Or as they say in England- I'll write you a cheque- now fuque off.
oh, poor Dad..
this am we are going tohispital for mri
poor dad for having to have me around!
Owl, MRI for allergies or is it something else? Pshaw, you are a blessing
Pshaw?
to check on one of carotids, had marked increase in plaques in last six months
Ha! Yes, Pshaw
Or taque a toque of thy re4/7, if we're going to be grid appropriate.
Owl, Your Dad is going through a hard time
he speaks very loudly beacuse of hearing difficulties. so he will bark "watch out for htose people!" when i am backing up and they are in FRONT of me. scare the hell out of me and i lose my temper.
Owl, I imagine it is very easy to lose your temper with him. The best way I know is to agree and keep your words to yourself.

then he is mad at me for asking him a stupid question, like what didn't i understand
Owl, So let him be mad at you. You are going home later and you will have peace. Tell your brother what is happening.
annie, he is trapped in this house like everyone who has a house is trapped.
Owl, Does he want to live elsewhere?
got to go he is going out the door

morning crossy....finished my 6666 and more then 1/2 way through a 250 now
Coffee end story. Or have a mug of tea and demand that she not speak to you unless it s deathly urgent until jumbo mug is empty
Morning Cross
my fave quote of hers so far: "My husband and I were just saying how nice it would be to get divorced! Then we could each have every other weekend off. REALLY, you don't know how lucky you are!!!" uh. thanks?
Hi Molly and Crossie and Carlee
good morning crossy
oh my.....take an ipod and tune her out?
lol,see my mrs carlee, she is jetting her way up the list with our fast gaming rig,and she is working on a small 50 atm
howdy herin,trif
a 50????
Tell her to get a divorce or shut up and stop being so insensitive. There is things you don't talk about at work : Relationships particularly yours unless you are friends with that person and it is one on one, politics and sports.
i never even knew there were 50,s
well it is raining again.
and weather....
crossy, I thought of your boy today, as primo was grumbling off to his college art class. He was so funny! "I was promised hot naked chicks! So far all we have had was ugly naked guy. By the way, I need more pencils. There has never BEEN a hairier human!" It probably didn't help that I was bent over laughing....
interesting..is it taking very long..the 50?
when i used to bar tend there were 2 topics you never talked about politics or religeon
looks like she will have it done in under an hour carlee
Snort Trifs
carlee! got the nine from your excellent nudge, finally!
I know, herin!!!! I was ROLLING
hillarious trifs
I used to do clothed modeling. I know a guy that did unclothed and I am sure he would have made the men in the room feel inadequate (goes over here now).
(wondering exactly HOW herin got that piece of information?)
as I said never mind
heh hehe
gotta love friends with benefits
(Something like that)
sounds very beneficial, that one
I'm not sure I'm old enough for this chog lol
i am in shock myself ruby..sitting here like a deer in the headlights
{{crossy}}
((ruby))
I am imagining primos face probs looked a lot like that at his first art class, cross
HI Ruby
Oh put your eyes back in your head, Cross. Weren't you discussing silicone orbs the other day. : D
when I was in art school, they had nude models who usually looked like street people or junkies. We were all poor kids, but we used to go and buy them food!
true enough..crossy was boobing his way along whilst loopy on misty jack
orbs? what orbs?
:)
This si sooooooooo cute. What is a duck but not a duck and can also lay eggs?
bad crossy! I missed that
hello herin
Here we go with the "I never said that" and "I only read Playboy for the articles".
and I never inhaled
carlee and i were on a roll the other day ruby lol
but all the chogs are achieved :p
my friend powell used to have a HUGE model in his class, a man, with a smoker's cough. with each hack his, um... assemblages would go flying and the class would groan and have to start erasing and putting them to rights again in their drawings
oh..i was NOT discussing boobs with u crossy...u went on that tangent all by urself..so not drag me with u on that one
http://tinyurl.com/29p46z5 Platapus
so at least primo's model has been quiet so far. there is that
that is a riot, trif
molly, playboy is available in braille, giving much credence to that particular argument
thats hilarious....a couple weeks ago...my daughter and her girlfriend came with me to first friday ( artsy thing the first fri of every month downtown)..and went in thise one store...in the back they have art clases...
the girls headed back...came out like a shot..you DO NOT want to GO BACK THERE
!!!!!
so my girlfriend and i headed back
like a shot
all the nude sketches were aranged and on display on the easels
anyone you knew???
bloody hillarious
oh, I thought they had discovered an actual model back there! funny how girls of a certain age can be so modest
no...all were...without their craniums...( i thought headless would send some of those here into fits of giggles :p )
"headless body found in topless bar" - a famous New York headline....
Good morning Trif + Kat!
ugh..cold waffles do not cut it..i am frozen....i forgot in that church the heat sutomatically goes of overnight.....i should go make myself a big pot of oatmeal..warm the innards
IHI Trifs
i saw a bar once downtown,it said topless! and bottomless! i went inside...nobody was there....
good morning scrabbler! are you well?
hi there scrabs :)
Hi Lady = Cwossy!
I am well!
hello scrabbler
ooh, oatmeal - excellent idea! me too
scrabby!
Hi Ruby
I have this mental image of the grid designers. "Hee hee, let's put we 6 and 7 in the grid." "Ha, ha, pour me some more wi 4/8".
there this strip club across the river...sign read somethin glike 63 gorgeous girls and 1 ugly one...or something like that...not sure on the 2ble digit other then high
let us discuss bacon instead today scrabby;)
Hi Molly
It's the weekend, Crossy. You may have bacon.
Mornin' Scrab.
no..oatmeal...properly made....delish....with brown sugar and cream....salivating here
ty my good doctor;)
Night Scrabbler/
HI Scrabbler and that was night all
most people stir the crap out of it...turning it into glue
and butter, don't forget, for the vitamin A
I thought maybe because of the upcoming holiday, molly....
i dont do butter...dark brown sugar and cream
I am having oatmeal with berries.
nite nite herin..sleep well darling
I put butter in everything. Bad Ruby!
i have not had oatmeal since i was old enough to run from our family home lol..there always used to be a big cauldron of it on the stove every morning with sat and sunday reserved for eggs and bacon
toddling out to kitchen..abck in a few
i only had oatmeal for first time about 4 years ago..mine was a cream of wheat family..still love that too
I am so sick of cooking, both my own and the local restaurants!!!
*8temporary poof*
that's my preference, carlee, too
I love farina too!
ruby,if you were here,i would make you a fine brinch
brunch
bye bye
Sleep well, Lady
oooh, I haven't had farina since I was a kid. I forgot about it, but loved that, too. Another vehicle for cream, brown sugar and butter
It is 2am
I would even enjoy a brinch, crossy
lol
herin the night owl!
I will admit to eating lowly instant oatmeal, but at least it's the kashi organic kind with apples and cinnamon, so hoping that absolves me, a little
when the potatos and eggs and pork start flying even my wife bails out of the kitchen
the last time I made "scratch" oatmeal, I broke out in serious hives. It is weird to develop allergies at my age
I am absolutely stuck with 81 words!
OUCH - the lid just fell off the teapot as I was pouring the water, and I BURNED my little finger in the steam. see what I get for eating instant?
see you later folks! soak that little finger, trif
Yay, hiker friend is on phone--we'll meet at 1 to hike in the woods!
only 1/2 done and no 7's --anyone feel like cluing?
My husband was fed so much oatmeal as a child, he would not touch the stuff. He referred to it as "gruel".
what the littlest pig said all the way home, babs, plural and past tense
ours was thick enough to stop a bullet
We did not have oatmeal very much, if at all, as kids. We had farina, cold cereals mostly, pancakes were the weekend specials, scrambled eggs + toast too.
Haha, Crossy
I always told him he didn't have it made properly. With brown sugar, raisins, walnuts and maple syrup. I love the stuff, when it's made right.
ahh sat and sunday as a child,eggs, toast,hash browns..fry ups english style...mmmm
Lately I have been putting maple syrup in my oatmeal.
I used to love the cooked breakfasts we had in ireland. My fave part was the little salute to health tomato on the side
okay, have to get ready for work now. see you when I get there, hopefully!
always butter, never saw margerine untill much later and always had a can of bacon grease on the stove for sudden fry-ups lol
Bye Trif!
Babs - not a looser, but a
lol, hope carlee is not grossing out over the thought of recycled bacon grease lol
Well, I am, Crossy.
ty for the w bob
lol,scrabbs
my da brought the limey style with him when we came over
*imagining coronary arteries lined with bacon grease that was used for 18 yrs*
why do you thing there were as tall as they were wide in the auld days?
Potatoes!
things i used to see going into a fry pan..some i would not go near, fried kippers with tomatos for example
and lots of taters
Voila. Butterscotch pudding parfaits done. Now, to put some baked beans in the fridge so the bacon and onion will marinade in before dinner.
pudding!!!
I love pudding--chocolate, tapioca!
crossy loves scutterbotch pudding
One layer of butterscotch pudding, one layer of ground graham crackers, another layer of pudding and cool whip and more ground grahams on top.
Do you have an Irish accent, Crossy?
no my ma and da are welsh
Oh, so do you have a Welsh accent? And do you prefer to omit vowels from words?
i was born in watford just outside of london england and we came over in 66
lol scrabbs, sadly i have loast most of it
Huh, I have friends from Watford...
howdy nb
Hi NB
i was born in facillitys that no longer exist the watford maternity home lol
ship them pregnat wimmens off to the home in their 8th month lol
To rest and prepare?
yup
Crossy, I don't like to break the pleasant chat but I have to say it: I was offended by what you said yesterday.
what id i say,you must be more specific nb,i offend many
that I look like I've just come out of hospital after a long illness!
i am sorry nb,but you look too light and wan.you must come over for some of my breakfasts for a month
i can even make a awsome vegan brekkie
I've always had a difficult time putting on weight and I'm pretty sensitive about it. I'm a recovered anorexic and I really don't appreciate comments like that!
crossy is sorry ...sniff
thanks. it just struck a nerve, I guess.
NB... if i may interject... I know crossy would never make a comment with the intent to hurt or harm... if he said something..it was simply out of concern... perhaps worded a bit gruffly..but..never with hurt or malice in his tone...
But the intention was sincere--he was concerned about your health.
crossy makes mb a nice bowl of yougurt with blueberries and diced banana,s with honey crunch clusters on top as a peace offering
Guess what I did last evening? I snipped off most of the skin tags on my neck. There are a few I couldn't reach. Now I have scabs all over my neck.
ouch! how did you manage that?
I guess I don't doubt the intention, but it was an insulting thing to say. But, I've got it off my chest now, so as far as I'm concerned, we're good.
are you not supposed to freeze them?
I used my tiny surgical scissors and snipped away.
lol Crossy. Vegans don't eat yoghurt...or honey :P
crossy would never mean to be insulting nb...but anyway...
oops..i just keep getting in deeper dont i?
:((
What about soy yogurt?
passing crossy a bottle of misty jack
i just better do the grid for a bit..;((
((NB)) it must be hard to gain weight when you're a vegetarian. What kinds of things that you eat will help you gain weight? Beans?
mmm misty jack...
I'm just teasing you now, Crossy :) I just had to say it because it hurt my feelings, that's all.
I am on the verge of going vegan.
hmmm..my oatmeal...cream...brown sugar....feeling warmth radiate outwards from my stomach....i might just soon...feel warm again
Scrab, "On The Verge Of Vegan" sounds like a book title. : )
lol,good stuff carlee
I don't think it's because of my diet, Molly, I just have a fast metabolism and a small appetite!
Oh Scrabbs, you really should...
Lurking...speaking of weight...Scrabbs, couldl a vitamin D supplement cause you to lose weight?
i couldnt do vegan..vegetarian..maybe....but i love milk...i love butter..i love buttermilk...yoghurt...and once in a while..a good steak or burger ( a feww times a year)..but i adore fish and seafood
Haha, Molly. I could write that---the animal products that I currently consume = yogurt, cheese...I haven't had the desire for eggs in 6 or 8 wks.
i would so miss fish and seafood....oh..my pan fried salmon is to die for
carlle,i make a battered trout that is so fine....
i go through months no eggs scrabs..then all of a sudeen..i will go through a dozen in a week...either scrambled..or egg salad..and then not touch again for months
why do we end up talking food....all the time????
i have no idea
NB, I'll trade you my low metabolism for your fast one.
I don't think so, SS. Read www.vitamindcouncil.org. Take 5000 IU/Day all winter, for a boosted immune system.
lol Molly!
so would I..or nb..just share a bit of it..pls...i u love me..u will share
I take 2000 a day and have lost about 14 pounds since starting
yes,i have a nice slow one you can have also
I definitely don't miss eggs. Highest cholesterol density of any common food. No ta.
How much have you lost so far, Crossy? I hit 20 lbs this past week.
Whooo, hooo, SS!
i have stalled at 15,but am in no panic bout it atm
Oh hell! Off to buy some Vitamin D supplements. Whee!
maybe just an over feeling of feeling better gave u more energy ss...which in turn made u more active???
Yes, but I have always battled with weight...guess its a good thing lol
SS, perhaps you are much more careful about your diet, more conscious about eating?
Hmmm, I just went on a cruise and left my conscience at home lol But, it it true that I don't eat as much as I used to.
Are you exercising more?
Not really, unless you count babble
even going about just doing your normal stuff at a brisker pace....standing up taller... increases blood flow etc...so you feel better....and thus sleep better...can lead to some weight loss...
I do feel much better carlee as I was Vitamin D deficient...what you and scrabbs say makes sense
those who mope about feeling blah... have a slower metabolism
take mine...it is a snail pace atm....but last night..was going like 90..all night...
Vit D deficiency is now known to be widespread in those living up north and in anyone that carefully uses sun blocks.
i take a multi vitamin,glucosomine and probiotics
i am hoping the glucosomine can help this tiffness
And it is implicated as a possible cause in the autism epidemic.
stiffness
I also take a multivitamin...I am not complaining...just curious I guess
REALLY?????? i had not heard that scrabs...
I hadn't heard that either Scrab, and I have a son with a learning disorder in the autism spectrum.
Read that web site--by an MD. Read the section on autism. When I first read that I had goosebumps. It truly makes sense.
i suck at taking vitamins....i just cannot get in the habit....i will for 3 or 4 weeks..then all of a sudeen i forget....even if i leave on couter to remind me
I'll have to go find that information. Although my son had all the normal Vitamin D type foods as an infant and toddler.
that is scary Scrabbs...
I take a multivit, omega 3 fatty acid, alpha lipoic acid, co-enzyme Q10, magnesium, calcium, Vit D, and one baby aspirin daily
Molly, does your son have ASD?
the 81 mg type scrabbs?
Kat, I use a pillbox, labeled with the days, and keep it where I don't forget.
Yes, Crossy.
i would ignore it
i have been thinking of aspirin daily preventative cause of my age and weight
bbl must do some things to prepare for a halloween party tonight nice chatting
short of having someone deliver them to me with a glass of water and saying....take this....
So where could you place it to remember? What part of your daily routine?
tc seaspray
oooh....what age ss????
have it as a lock box to open babble scrabs?
Carlee...the way I feel motivates me to take the vitamins daily...I don't want to regress....All ages carlee...family and friends
bye all
Next to your toothbrush, comb, etc.
if u have jars.....this craft we did last night rocked
48 to go, time to get ready for hiking!
http://www.countryliving.com/crafts/pr ojects/terrarium-halloween-crafts-1009
My son was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder as a toddler. Speech and gross motor delays. He has trouble with cognitive comprehension. Other than that, he's a very independent young man. Already working two jobs at 18.
so simply..very quick to do....and looked so cool all lined up together..dollar stores have pplastic critters right now...u need spray paint ( hoe depot 6.00 a can..a white..and black..matte finish) and hot glue guns..and some spanish moss
Thanks carlee...will check into it...bye for now
byebye
am trying to finish my w's
i just get tired of taking them scrabs...
I am usually a lurker, but I have to say this has been a very informative morning. First about the vitamins, I truly agree. I just have all the stuff I need to take every day in pill boxes and that is the first thing I do when I get up. I have made up my mind that I have to take the pills before I have my first soda of the day and that works for me.
((((JOEY!!!)))) *many happy hugs*
good for u joey....i am just..lazy ..i know it...
thanks
STIDDY!!!!!
Hi stid. Had surgery last week, am off work for 3 weeks
oops. now you know I am working away... at babble instead of paperwork. *sigh* AND I have to wake up my tap-dancer who has class in an hour.
oh dear, another surgery?
{{MONSTER HUGS}} for stiddy....all done the practical now?
will this be the last I hope?
yup, that is 7 since August 09
no, maybe one more depending on my decision
nope. anothr week in charge and then two days just observing
wow joey.
holy crap joey....thoughts and prayers to you....i've had 3 in my life and am scared crapless to do any more cus i have such a wretched time recovering
okay, kid is up. will have to get myself dressed in a couple minutes too.
I hate hospitals and docs (in the professional sense) and such.
well..stiddy....if u are allowed to do a hallowe'en craft..albeit....but and animal related...that link i sent u before..asking if the kids would like..they LOVED it...
bug* and animal
and they looked wicked cool....setting in the window together
hallowe'en with no ghost spirt..vampire..witch etc
the absolutely worst part of this one - a friend got a hot tub for me and brought it down two days before surgery. I was in it the night before surgery and now can't get back in for about 2 more weeks. It is killing me. She got it from Craigslist in st louis and brought it down on her truck. It is something that I have wanted for a long time, but my mom thought was a waste of money, energy and why did I need it.
no, they are presenting their projects this coming week -- most of them will be successful. Some of them won't have anything. A few of them will absolutely shine.
but thanks anyway carlee
oh that is a lovely thing to look forward to! what a great friend!
that is how it goes ( BTW..took about 30 mins total time to do )
it is a lovely thing your friend did...but soon...soon u can enjoy :)
glad it was quick for your kids carlee. I am looking forward to being with elementary kids in the spring, more opportunities (I hope) for activities that stimulate fine motor skills. Although, with the high-stakes testing, I fear I may be teaching them simply how to take tests.
figure out ways to cover the material with art stiddy... they never get enough art..and there are ways...a gril friend of mine is an elementary teacher...and she i fear lacks magination...she comes to me for art project ideas and i always ask what they are covering in math or science first...
down to 30. need one more from the h fourth column bottom row? I have "invited to work" twice hi 4, 5
last year they were measuring and doing paterns......so for mothers day i prepared woven placemats they they decorated and then got laminated fro mother's day pressies
yep. crayons are a teacher's best friend!
hi 4/5 i think. another vowel and the snake
thanks joey!
that was it!
that's the bottom row grey now
glad to help
I like doing fractional work in elementary school -- lots of opportunities for "quilt" patterns that help the kids see the relationships between parts.
help 8 and 9 please thank you
oh...and if the school has a kitchen..BAKE something.....when they have to double or treble a recipe
(((hurshy)))
8 is plural places that make alcohol from grapes

*~*~*Way to go Carlee*~*~*
thanks :)
Oh give me a freaking break. Since when is wi6/33 a word. I cry foul on that.
yeap..i thought the same
It's Scots. You can't cry foul on the Scots.
It's from a different use of the verb, meaning to dry hay. So says the dictionary and I believe it.
hello haz!
Hi Everybody. How are you all today?
Hello TO!
howdy nef
howdy haz
Hello, crossy.

LOL! I do that all the time, sadie! :-) I have to either chat or work the grid; but I keep trying to do both
Not if you've ever potty trained children, TO.

I can - one of the less elaborate pumpkin carvings.
I;m not a preemie, but I've been impatient since I was born...
i tried to get the festival ones, but they were copyrighted
TO's teeth seem intricate to me...
That's a shame, they were pretty spectacular.
LOL . haz, one can find lovely ones at the site that gives the patterns. they have a contest for original ones. i also have a pirate one. if i were carving one, that is the one i would carve. the old fashioned way.
with hat, scarf, earring, patch and gold tooth with knife in mouth
It looks suitably scary, that's for sure.
Taking five to construct tea...
carlee was in kitchen putting together a loaf of cheese bread...
mmmm cheese bread!!!
I'd like a metled cheese samich, please...
cus carlee has nothing better to do then go all night with screaming kids..to come home and make...fresh cheesebread <checking mirror for IDIOT on forehead>
not making a cheese toasty....just cheese bread...
just posted recipe on fb...it s a no yeast cheese bread..i'll let u know in an hour once done baking and cooled
is it sweet yeast bread?
yeah, I think I'm done with Halloween this year...after the disaster of passing through a parking lot (shortcut, I thought) near a Perfect party Place selling costumes and IDIOTS not knowing how to park/drive with too many peeps walking/milling about ..and then having my "costume" of a tie for Halloween go unnoticed at work...
no yeast.i think more like a big scone
ty carlee. it seems i am in a vicious babble cycle

very cool no?
yes. i was debating whether to go to the chicago satellite today but decided against it.
it was a zoo here today
i missed the beginning, i'll have to go back and watch the rest
the first 1/2 hour was music.
i enjoyed it but guess I wanted more from it
evening all - I cannot beliee that the last series of words i have just put in are actually words
we watched it
bought my first xmas deco for this year today
will be putting tree up in the next couple of weeks - having inlaws down and will be doing xmas lunch
you kind of can't want more from it because they are still trying to be careful not to become actually political and circumscribe their own roles, since they do believe their job is to be comedians, and they're only taking on the role of calling for sanity because there isn't anyone else to do it. but you can tell they will always think it would be better if there were somebody else doing it and that limits what they can do.
Happy Saturday all!!
there is one thing i would have liked and that is at the end if they would have just let people go on chanting "USA" after tony bennett sang, and gone out on that.
really they just wanted to have demonstrable evidence in front of the media and everyone that one could in fact gather 150,000 people who are in favor of polite and civil discourse, as a sort of way to say, hey, see, lots of people want this, could we please do it now?
that's why jon stewart said their presence was what he wanted.
i quite agree
mab! my goodness! where have you been for... for... months? years?
i have a new laptop but must go to wifi coffee joints for internet
funnily enough, nothing has changed in my life. but it will.
ok
i have a new facebook page - chava palmer; i even sent to a facebook message.
you sent me a message? i don't think i got it!
i've missed you and babble terribly!
but you haven't had internet access until recently, i take it?
had ovely day today with great nice at the zoo - she loved the elephant
i love elephants too
i depend on the kindness of friends - jeanie sent me the new laptop recently. i don't think i can quite afford internet.
in fct she loved it so much that when it went outside she didnt want to leave
clues on the 9? I didn't get the earlier one about the chicken run- except that it's he...
Kap... If nuns live in nunneries, where do hens livre?
:)
good clue soodle
emmm 'live'....
For some reason that I don't want to investigate.. the 9 was the first word that jumped out at me when I opened the grid this morning. Scary or what?
There's a song by Herman's Hermit's- I'm He____the 8th I am...
hmmm
soodle you are a genius
Either that or a frustrated chicken, Leslie!
Yeah, that was good.
Is the 8 at all related?
maybe both.
sort of where wi4 lives???
Nope. Kap. the 8 is totally different.
What are the first 2 letters
Wi 8/60
wi
Sorry, bowed out briefly as my brother-in-law from BC called.
Kazzers post should help....
TY. It was related on the end.
I could finish if I come back later I think.

LOL. Jilly.
I am still waiting for a good ghost story....
My name before I was married was O'Carroll. Beanshees follow Mac's and O's. Halloween is always a little bit uncomfortable for me....
No stories here soodle; I lived in a house with a spirit!!
fireworks
wish i would have held out with no list, mostly missed a bunch of past tenses
congrats leslie!
congrats leslie
JILLY!!!! 'No stories', but you lived with a spirit? STORY!!!!!
YAY, LA!!! WTG!!!!
congrats leslie - i am nearly there as well
WOO-HOO Leslie
OK Soodlebum - where I live the centre of town is called 4 Corners. It is said there is a homeless man who stands in the centre of the intersection bumping into people and panhandling because his wife left him with nothing....
ooh look my icon is appropriate by accident for tonight and tomorrow
Did I scare you????
Thats more like it! Thanks Mrs Whiski. Have you ever seen/felt him?
Nope - just read about him. He only comes out at night and I'm usually in bed!!!
I've seen a ghost - more than one - one was spooky one was sad and then there were the weird ones
LOL. Thats the best way to encounter ghosts.... vicariously.
It was an old victorian in Butte Montana. I lived with a roomate in the 3rd story servatnts quarter. Several times I was alone at night in house on a weekend. One could make all sorts of claims/reasons for what I heard, but I was never really scared. Things would be moved around apartment, you would hear distinct footsteps on stairs etc.
C'mon Kaz...... spill...
There's a ghost walk in town tonight. I will NOT be going
why.. will it be three sheets in the wind?
I also had a door across from my bedroom that was direct access to attic, old elecrical system with the pushbutton on/off switches. Some nights that light would click off and on on it's own and if you went up to attic there were those "cold spots"
lol ruru
hi Ruru
the nice was was when we visited a church - I like churches. there was an old lady in the front pew praying - like people do and I sat down a few rows behind her. She got up and turned left towards the outer aisle and a door to the outside which was locked and closed and walked hrough it
Theres an old jail here in Ireland, which has been opened to the public. Its called Wicklow Jail. Seemingly, it is the most haunted place in Ireland...
wow Kazz
Golly Kaz...
Duly noted soodle, and put on my "to do in Ireland" list!
apparaently she was a regular visitor
the ghost storyteller claims there are ghosts everywhere all day but there's too much noise to hear them during the day
Wicklow Jail was awesome!
Soon after we moved into our home, my adult daughter was sleeping. And she heard what sounded like a ball bouncing off her wall. It woke her, but she saw nothing. A few minutes later, she heard a woman's voice whisper "SHHH! She's sleeping!" My 3 year old grandson has also told us that "the boy" woke him up and was playing with his toys.
there is a very haunted place in Devon called Berry Pomeroy Castle - that was a but spooky - also i am convinced we have a ghost in this house but it is only 36 years old and as far as i know everyone that has lived here is still alive
Oh my, Susan.... did anything else happen?
what nice spirits Susan
See what you started Soodle - well done!
Mrswhiski... did you visit Wicklow Jail?
ROFL........ I am only getting into the spirit of Halloween...
Soodle, I grew up in a house that was 120+ years old; my great grandma died in that house and as kids we often "saw" visions of her even though she died before we were born. She was a protector, however; so we never were scared or afraid of her
Yes. My husband & I visited Ireland for our 25th Anniversary
We see shadows pass by a lot. Toys disappear. Images of a woman and child. Sometimes a feeling of someone leaning over when you are online....
(and we're Irish too!)
fiery words for me - off to watch the rest of the x factor and then see if i have won the lottery
We have rented here for 4 years, and the house is only about 25 years old.
Congrats Kazz
Mrs Whiske, I have lived in Ireland for 50 years and never got there.....Sheesh! But I am a firm believer that life exists beyond what we can see....Happy halloween all...........
YAY, Kazzer! WTG!!!
<---doesn't believe in spooks
defo soodle - my grandad visits me on a regular basis
'Twas a dark and stormy night, Ruru....
I don't believe in spooks, ruru. But I do believe in spirits..... ;-)
I actually think there is a helpful spirit in our home, although built in 1972. There has been many instances of misplaced items that are later found in 'plain sight' places. Like my wedding ring. I always place it in a spot on my dresser. Not there one morning, looked everywhere for several days. Then it appears on dining room chest...where we walk by everytime we walk into kitchen.
nitey nite all see you tomorrow
I believe in spirits too.. but mostly scotch
niters kazz! Sweet dreams
Soodle - you have a beautiful country we would return to in a flash
See! We DO agree on some things! :-D
i'm easy
Oh, how nice of you to say that Mrswhiski. You would be very welcome back... :-)
we know, ruru :-)
With a name like O'Brien my husband lays claim as a descendant of King Brian Boru !!!!
Mrswhiski...I am originally from Clontarf....where Brian Boru met his fate, in 1014!!
I can't stand scarey movies or TV shows; but I do like watching the ghost shows on the Travel Channel and discovery channel. For some reason those shows don't scare me
I guess I better go to bed... Lovely
I guess I better go to bed... Lovely
He tried to throw everyone out of Bunratty Castle the ancestral home. As usual no one listened to him
niters, soodle. Sleep well
bye kids.. off to get a hair cut.
Nite Soodle!! Sweet unhaunted dreams to you... ;)
nite soodle and thanks for a great hour
LOL Mrs. Poof
See you ruru! clip clip
26 left and DH wants me to find somethings for him. BBL
okay, now that everyone is leaving...I NEED HELP oh well, maybe I'll take a break with 25 left
bbl *poof*
hi all
hi jmc
i haven't started the grid and am going to a party in three hours
Its actually pretty quick except for the last 10-20, you could list - depending on how long it takes to get prettied up
it's a fun one
hi jmc and fellow lurkers
hi Bugs
or uglied up ;-)
hi bugs
howjado mrs whiski
oh - for Haloween I guess
hi lynxx . I was just back reading the chog and mrswhiski's stories
i have seen ghosts
We don't really do Haloween here - though there is a big push by Supermarkets/department stores to flog stuff for it this year
tell us your stories then jmc
saw my grandmother the day of her funeral at the house afters checking to see if everyone got what they needed
took me several minutes to realize she should have been there it was so natural
Soodlebum made me tell a ghost story because she gave me a clue. Things just kind of went from there!!!
Halloween is actually going out of fashion here lynxx. Too many weird people and overly concerned parents who won't let their kids know the thrill of being out after dark.
i wish it would go out of fashion here but it is not a childrens holiday anymore
i also saw my husband after his death
more surprising was during meeting for worship one day. . .
Just once jmc?
This Canadian agrees. Most of the trick & treating happens in appartments and malls. Too bad the adults had to take over this kids holiday
I guess that is what I meant jmc. It is not for little kids any more. The teenagers have taken over with partying, drinking and random vandalism.
you have to understand that the kind of quaker I am sit in silence waiting for God to speak
and a woman i didn't know real well rose and said. . .
Ricks says to tell j and the meeting that he is okay
she went on. . .
I think it is highly apropriate that he would visit you there jmc. He knew how important your faith is to you ( and probably that you are too busy to notice the rest of the time)
i asked him why he was telling me since i didn't know him well and he said.. .
because you will do it.
I burst into tears and the meeting was shook
many years later when she was in her late 80s and most of her mind gone she still told anyone who heard about Rick speaking to her
I think I would have been too - wow jmc not the kind of thing you will ever forget
she reminded me of the story the day before she died
nope i will never forget it
it is a wonderful story of love jmc.
i thought so
I agree bug
i feel him near me still
he is
Yes he is jmcnrick. I know that Robert is around me often even though he died almost 13 years ago.
Yes, I can feel a presence of someone who loves me and have all my life, but I am not sure who it is.
okay to the grid for a few . . . !
A friend who has the ability to see spirits who saw a wonderful old lady who loved me "beaming love at me" but she died in 1993. I still feel her
morning jhb - You have gone Pro!
rick died oct 16 1993
welcome jhb to the most addictive game around
That is reassuring Bugs
Thanks Bugsaw. I have been playing for a few eeks and thought I should really become part of the community. Thanks for all being so welcome to somebody from the other side of the world.
eeks shoudl read weeks of course.
so lynxxx i made it past the second cut on the job I applied for -- I am to come for the personal interview -- one of four people
i have had a few eeks!
welcome to pro jhb
I just went Pro too and I agree jhb
mrswhiski you need to gussy up!
Congrats and welcome to positive thinking jmcnrick. Visualise the intervgiew and how you are going to feel when they offer you the job.
mrs whiski did you go pro today? You still show as a visitor
The Philly job right? Good luck - if you really want it!
You may have guessed. In my other life I am a life coach.
I know lol I'm too busy trying to find all these darn words
ty yes the philly job i want all except the philly part ;-)
lol thanks jhb
jmc I am shocked that you are planning a move. You are so passionate about what you do! Will your new position be along the same lines?
Too far from your boy or you don't like the town?
I went Pro on Tuesday Gee that sounds funny like I can really golf or something!
i am passionate enough to know when to leave bugs
don't like the baseball team
;-)
organizations suffer if the same person is in charge too long
lol
Yes, there is even a song that says Philly fans have been known to get nasty so you better not cheer out loud when there
You are a wise woman jmc. Fresh blood is always helpful to growth
that is actually and sadly accurate
*puts on halo*
is that on straight?
Bows down to jmc
suits you beautifully jmc
do you have a ring we should kiss too? ;)
no no, no bowing I am humble too
But gee it's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way
Dang; Dh wants me to take him to a Halloween party at his mens club; and I want to finish the grid. We haveto go to my daughters' roller derby bout in 2 hours too
oh lord its hard to be humble when you are perfect in most every way!!!!
busy social life there nef
LOL, jmc!
I try to convince people I am Mary Poppins who was "practically perfect in every way" but no luck yet
*I* would rather just do the bout. I spent too many hours yesterday in a tire shop and doing other stupid stuff and am out of sorts I guess
there was a country music song i was singing
hank williams jr
We used to call my husand Peter Perfect and the first time my two children who were teenagers at the time, heard the Hank Williams jr song they called out - quick Mum. they're playing Dad's song.
lol
winer
that's is great jhb!
oopsie
And after Robert died, my then 4 year old grandson said that now grampa's not here can I be Peter Bl..dy Perfect now?
tried it jmc. didn't work
just keep going though
lol jhb
i got the places already lynxx
but ty
Well Sunday morning here. The sun is shaining. The garden is calling so much to do. I'm off. Bbl. Bye
Sun is shining of course.
enjoy your day
enjoy jhb
Bye jhb...can't get into mine. We are waterlogged here - probably visit you next
And the sun just came out as you wrote that, jhb!
Great lynxxx. Always love guests.
25 left. I'll end up listing I guess. AFTER I drop off DH though. BBS
not me, I meant the rain
bye nef
but thanks jhb!
bye Nef
No thanks - you can keep the rain. We have had the wettest winter ever.
I'd better go, my place looks like a bomb has hit it. Bye all. Have a great rime jmc

bye lynxxx
i am off too since battery is running our and i need to make my costume
maybe i can get back before the party

Demons are cool, and scary.
i have to figure out how to make out my face with the cheap face paint from k-mart lol
My sister used to mix food coloring into liquid foundation makeup.
ahh thats pretty cool
She does the best witch makeup I've ever seen. Complete with green skin and warts.
cos..look up vids online for makeup
they help lots
lots of strange words in this board today
i was gonna do that.. thanks :)
Hi TNana. Today's board is brought to you by drunken five year olds. : D
I believe it, Molly - ha!
yes... drunken 5 year old BOYS
the stores were packed with people looking for costumes
10 more....
does it ever seem that you've tried a word and it didn't work and then later you try the same word and it takes it? I swear that happens sometimes!
all the time
Hi all. Can I have a clue for the we6,42? I don't have any drunken 5 yr old boys around to ask.
lol wht
sorry, don't have it yet
past tense of one before it
another one I thought I already typed....
I think you found the we6,33. The pt of the end of the holiday coming up.
oops, sorry
we 6/42 - boys sometimes call their private part this
perfect example of why drunken boys did this board
lol haha
then plural after that
See, we are the naughty children. Earlier today, people were cluing that "what the pig said all the way home". : P
lol haha
oops - sorry
oh i love that commercial
oops - sorry lol
ty. trent and Molly. I finally got it. Fireworks.
wi 6/33, anyone?
gg wht
can you clue me that one, wht?
I love that commercial too Cos. And the woodchuck one. Oh look, wht found his we 6/42.
plural of wh5/20
the only one i dont like is the lady with the bird in her hand..
ahhh, no the wi 6/33, not we, wht
TNana, wi 6/33 is a word you will not expect. Think of a redneck version of the past tense of win.
I mean NOT wh word
ohh ok sorry
oh, ok - got it, thnx
that's ok, cos
good day all......do the 8 and 9 letter words play off a 7-letter word?
Ah, the smell of freshly carved pumpkins. That's Halloween.
The 9 doesn't.
The 8 plays off a 4.

I can imagine the smell, but didn't get a pumpkin this year...
The wi8 is the plural of where the 5 year old boys went before they made the grid.
I was lucky to get one TNana, and it's small. The pumpkin bin was all but empty this morning. I think Halloween being on a weekend had something to do with that.

why do they feel they need to mix up what is working...
i think a good crusty old cop working with booth would be fun ( like the books..the old guy..or a super slick egomaniac)
I love Caroline Julienne. I think she merits her own spin off show.
I don't think Booth's new girlfriend is going to last. And I think Parker is going to have something to do with that.

yeap..parker will hate her...
leave HER where she is...

guess so... anyway, wanted to let folks know we are talking about another meetup NEXT August in the Pac NW, maybe toward Boise or Tri-Cities (Washington).... or possibly Portland (home of the galaxy-famous Powell's)
Hello again. We went and watched my daughters' first roller derby bout of the season. THey got their butts whipped bad! :-(
will have more info in a few months, but thought I would start talking about it already.
woo-hoo NEF!
sounds like fun, stid
roller derby at any result is a good thing, yes?
they will do better next time, I am sure
brb
I don't know; but I do know that there's going to be a bunch of sore young women tomorrow. MAN, it was a hard hitting bout tonight!
is se 5/20 a plural?
All 4 teams were out there playing very hard; lots of hard hits
I'm back if anyone needs my lousy clues! :D
the se 5/20 I have is PT, Babs
Hi Jilly! I just came back too
what does PT stand for nef?
Great people think alike!! How are you Nef?
Hey babs!!
PT is past tense, Babs
Hiya Stiddy!
I'm fine, Jilly. You must have the weekend off?
Well, I don't have to work weekends...*smiles broadly*...at least with the current job!
neither do I now (after 40+ years of doing them. It's kind of nice to know how the rest of the world lives.
how about a clue for the first re 6/30?
No weekends, no holidays and no call....for a nurse it's nirvana!!
can I tell you it's PT for the re 4/7, Babs? ;-)
getting stuck on re4/7
Very true, Jilly. That is what I do too.
k nef..will look
there are coral re4/7s in the Bahamas
I was on-call every third weekend and once a week in Home Health/Hospice for 13 years.... bleh...
no, that was my clue nef.....lol...did fw already..that's how bad my clues are...
Once upon a time I was a County Health Nurse in an under-served (and very poor) county. I remember doing QID wound cares and dressing changes over the Christmas and New Years holidays; in -40 degree weather. THAT wasn't fun!
missing one of the sw 5/18..have the pig one
My stuck point today was the we 'series' of 6 & 7s ...didn't think they were words...
-40---yowser!
s+we4/8
the second we4/8
have that one..
go babs!!
think nationality
NW MN (north of Grand Forks, ND) is darn cold some winters, Babs
Sven was a sw***
thought I'd typed that..drat! thanks jilly
I do THAT all the time, nice to know I have good company
yes! is the wi 8 compound word?
hai everybody
yes, it's the place you taste wi4/8
the plural though
hmm...not seeing it..also looking for wi 6/33
PT of the 6/33 below it...I didn't think that was a word either
wi 6/33 is PT?
a very stupid PT, Babs
6/30 is word that both 6/33 and 7/44 play off of...I AGREE Nef...
back
hi anus. Rather unusual name ther
wi6 = slang for "won"
hi Pini!
hi nef ;)
Hey there pini!!
hi jilly ;)
Pini, stid was looking for you a bit ago. Something about planning a get together next August.
did that help with the wi6?
thx nef...I'll drop her a note and see what's up ;)
finally got the 6/33. thanks..still need the silly 8
wi8 = wi4 is produced in wi8 (it's a pl)
ooooo...maybe harpjane and lbdawg could come out there this time
or wi8 = not a loser + 3-ltr pl
that'd be fun, jilly!
oh...me too...lo;
good grief..I cannot type today :(
of course, jilly! :)
whew..I think I had been misspelling so missed it. thanks.
glad it worked, babs
brb
she did say in Boise or Tri Cities, WA (but I don't know what that is)
hi people. Masy I please have a clue for the Ge/4
Should be May not masy
Tri Cities WA = Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland
ge4 = ge5 - last vowel
hi jhb
Hi - must be particularly dumb this afternoon. Too much fresh air maybe?
hi again, jhb!
Thanks pini - I have it now.
Hi nef - how are things?
yvw
how about the fe 4/7, second one?
fe + *igh *chool
oops...
I had to look that up, Pini. I'd never heard of the Tri Cities, nor any of those city names either. Definitely have to bone up on my geography!
fe + best **gards
whereabouts are you, nef?
thanks...just when you think you've done all the monkies!
I'm in the Twin Cities, Pini. Mpls/St. Paul, MN
ahhhh...that makes sense...a bit far to know the more local lingo ;)
true. But I've been to Montana enough to know some of that region; just not that area
Did I hear Montana!! lol
I drove through Montana a few years ago in a torrential downpour with lightening and thunger...oh what fun!!!
need the 2 re 5/10's that are together
We have good friends in Richmond...been there...
r + anagram of number before 10
re + visualize
Pinikula - hello! :)
Of course you heard MT, Jilly. I actually attended Hellgate HS for my sophomore year. But I preferred the living situation in MN more
hey JC
Pini...you are just too fast
sorry Jilly! :/
I'll try to slow down ;)
Awww, what a cute icon! :)
Is that Koda in his Hallowe'en costume?
Wow, my aunt was a graduate of Missoula Cty Hi...what Hellgate was before...
Hi JC
* smile *
I wish, JC...but it's not...
thanks pini...got the fish..looking for the other
...he's going to be a "Bumble Beagle" and we're going to go Reverse Trick-or-Treating...
morning, all.
hey NB :)
what's reverse trick or treating?
it's the kidney enzyme that controls blood pressure
NB!! ((hugs))
hey, NB! You are up early!
(and you too J.C.
I dress Koda up...fill the bucket with candy...and we take a walk...handing out candy on the way (with parental permission, of course)...
We're not up early...we're up late!
by the time our walk is over, the bucket is empty and the kids have gone home to check out their goodies
cool pini..sounds like fun!
That's neat pini!
Very, very late then, NB
(it beats him jumping all over the place everytime someone comes to the door!)
lol!
Yes. Had a gig last night and we got in quite late (or early?) from that - then I've been fighting with a computer I'm tempted to smash to little bits. :/
Babs, just read your profile..I went to high school in CA....where are you from?
poor jc
I know, Pini - I need sympathy and cuddles! :/
big breaths JC...big breaths...
Arcadia...near L.A.
How big, Jillyjill?
* offering sympathy * (will have to find Ian for cuddles)
ahh, been there. I went to HS in San Luis Obispo
de 5/12 second one...5 to go!
So that you pass out before you destroy the computer...lol JC
did you go to college in CA, Jilly?
Ahh, Julian's been gigging, I've been sprawled on a sofa watching 80s movies. It's a tough life but someone's got to live it.
de5 = put off to someone else?
One year at Cal Poly, then back to MT for nursing school.
go babs!!!
went to UCSB an UCLA myself...then years later back to UCLA for MBA..
Hi jillijill. On a visit to California some years ago with my sister Christine, we visited Sam Luis Obispo. Have some great photos amd interesting memories.
Pass out, Jilly? I would be more likely to do that from NOT breathing, wouldn't you say?
NB....kinda my day too..lol
Well, you get pretty light headed with all that breathing, fall over and hit your head...then pass out
you could pass out from hyperventilation, too, jc :)
And if you're looking for Ian, Pini - try in our bedroom upstairs. He's the sensible one, after all...
12 left for me. I should really try to finish tonight
think that's the de 5/18 pini, looking for 5/12..or I'm dense and not getting the clue
He's fast asleep - which I ought to be. :P
oh yeah, jc, forgot! :)
go Nef....
:P
oh, sorry, babs...pl the de4 before it
right, Jilly ;) I started feeling all weepy and sentimental after The Breakfast Club.
Well. Nice to know you consider me sensible, Pini - even if I'm not. ;)
I try, JC...I try! :)
Hmmm really nb?

A Bog? Haha! I meant Bob, obviously...
Bog is another slang term for a toilet here...
