How did you do? Slams?
You have snow on your island ?? Yesterday, at 10:30pm the icecream truck came 'round. Only in SoCal: icecream in the middle of November, at 10:30pm.
no, was fun, but nothing spectacular
I'd say they should retire until late spring
No snow yet, Christine, although it tried this morning, and might tomorrow night and Saturday, they say -- at higher elevations of which I may be one.
Wednesdays game with Wendy and Barb
always fun with them
Don't know them.

morning all
submitting new word: TUTARD. def: very stupid teacher.
Hello Sprite and all
hey lyn, good day to you. How are you and Stew?
Very well. We are all on the bed, including my daughter asleep, whilst waiting for the paint fumes to dissipate a bit - finished painting that room - Hoobloodyray! How was your week?
Good morning/evening all.
wow that is great, having finished the paint job. My week was good, mostly. And right now the sun is out, no cold wind, and I will be taking Terra for a walk soon.
good morning Haz
Hello!
Morning Haz - have you solved the economy problem yet?
My eyes glaze over too quickly for me to ever solve anything involving numbers.
lol - that includes Soduko?
I thought the economy problem was scheduled for last week, Haz? This week was world peace, right?
sudoku rocks
I'm assuming you mean the economic problems in the south of Ireland or do you mean the whole world's economic problems?
Because if it's the world, my calculator hasn't enough digits.
Just Ireland - well, for this week anyway
I love numbers but I can't abide Soduko
Alas, I feel I'll need to leave it to the experts. It's a shame, only a few years ago the irish economy seemed to be riding high, it seems that it was either non-money in the first place, or they spent too much of real money at the time to leave any for the crisis now.
I play sudoku most nights before sleep. Takes my mind right off worrying and into relaxation mode
mmm sorry just realized all the vowels are back to front in my spelling of iut
it ! sheesh
SuDoku gets boring ince you've done around a couple ten thousand... gotta have some variety (like Kakuro, Hashi, Hanjie, Slitherlink, &c.) :oD but yeah, sudoku is an awesome thing to put yourself to sleep with
lol! You still make perfect sense, lyn, don't worry
Just call it sucky-duck and that gets you out of trying to spell it.
ugh, I hate those days like today when I wake up at 0430h and need to be at work at 0830h... too little time to go back to sleep :o(
(funny, usually I'm just about to go to sleep at this time...)
sucky-duck? Grin, sounds yuck.
Could you not manage a couple more hours?
We could bore you back to sleep.
I'm horrible at sleep :o) once I wake up it takes like three hours to get me back into ready-for-sleep mode :o(
Knitting patterns or stock prices should do it.
or knitting stock prices.
My husband seems to be in permanent ready for sleep when he sits in a chair mode.
He is probably on his feet all day I guess
he probably gets lots of fresh air too during the day... not sure what the english word is... but here we say somebody is rozig (rosy) after a day of work outdoors.
I think the fresh air thing probably has a lot to do with it. It just amuses me how quickly he can succumb to sleep. My scintillating conversation can't be that scintillating.
nope. But reassuringly familiar, apparently.
It's very funny when he stirs, he'll try to comment on something on TV to try to make out that he's been paying attention.
He is probably sleeping off all Haz's great cooking!
Morning/evening all.
morning FM
Good morning, FM. How are you? Any more badger visits through the night?
hey FM *hug*
oh man, being outdoors a greater part of the day and good cooking. Best recipe for being asleep in minutes.
Hello hello! No more visits that I know of as I moved the feeder to a high place overnight. incredibly foggy here this morning.
badgers! did you sing the Badger Song FM?
what kind of visits did you have?
Ata! Finally, the spear thrower is actually in the grid.
Something bent the metal rod that hold a bird feeder. I think it was a fox.
knitting patterns? o.0
Woomera isn't here
I feel I am lacking something in my education lynxxx as I don't know the badger song :)
wow. Beautiful creatures but not close to your home.
I don't know the Badger song either.
Will you favour us with a rendition, lynxxx?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPvRVK9 YbZM
are you going nuts yet?
badger badger badger badger badger *sings*
lol Ata
Morning Ata!
Ata!!!!! Did you see my post? If not: spear thrower. Yes. Actually in the grid today :)
COOOOL!
:D
Good morning, Ata!
eh yes and good morning, Ata, and how are you today? How is the knee and how is the job? How are Hobbit and Sily?
Funnily enough, a few bars of the badger song sufficed...
and morning :) I must do the grid now the spear thrower is there!
who wrote the lyrics, Haz, do you know?
spear thrower? o.0
I don't know but they needn't wait for any kind of award.
it's a classic song
at6/18
they'd be better off knitting as well
ah, not awake enough to find long words yet.
and one of the x-men is in the grid too, and accepted
First three letters of an ocean, repeated.
How many words today?
117 words.
lemonade in dutch is called 'ranja' (from orange/oranje, the first kind of lemonade available here). But not valid in english, alas.
oh yes, great Ata, thanks
and that is fireflies.
wtg spritey, congrats!
Congratulations!
Congrats Sprite!
hello everyone. how's the grid today?
well done sprite!
wonderful grid. Only one compound, some beautiful words.
yay spritey!
hi Lile :)
wonderful as in easy or 'I enjoy a challenge' sprite?
Hi Lile
hi Lile
Wonderful as in not easy at all!
the less common words are mostly short, so great for the monkeys.
see... 68 words found, average word length 4.15.
:D everybody!!
not easy, Lile. But fun!
...and I just found two words ending in -er. (starting to fully wake up, I think!)
ok - I'll splash in... erm how can not easy be fun unless you're a glutton for punishment?
I'm stuck.... already!
To counteract the badger song, try this http://tinyurl.com/4drc34
lile, I usually list about 90% in, which is hard but fun :o)
hate to leave you gals, but Terra is waiting and so is the sun. Have fun. (lol Lile... because of learning new words? Or because typing away in monkey mode is so rewarding with this grid? Or because... welll... maybe I AM a glutton for punishment, grin. But getting better!)
good morning everybody
prite
HAve a lovely walk spritey.
:) bye sprite - enjoy your rays...
hello ruby
Bye sprite, hello ruby.
that was hi and bye sprite, :(
hello haz
very philippiney today. Tagalog is a phantom, and daga is the word for rat in Tagalog
we will be having the 12 days of christmas icon themes again this year, btw.
hi ruby :o)
I was just about to say the same thing Ata ;) Hi ruby.
I believe you, millions wouldn't :P
Is Tagalong the language of the Gooseberry?
is the at word a lizard named for our ata?
it looks like a mayan word
hi and bye rubyfoo
loooooooooool Haz, thats a very good one. the badger song has increased your brilliance
I don't know about that!
Hi Ruby
{{lynxx}}
I've got all the words now. WHy does my page say 62 left?
Bad page.
I think it must be lying
ok, really off now, Haz I enjoyed the Christmas song!
Bye Spritely
It's fun, isn't it? I loved that the Home for the Bewildered made an appearance.
and there's certainly not an 8 letter word
I agree with you there ata
Stuart should go to the HftB
for sure, ata, not possible
How many words again? Memory not working yet. :o/
Hft Terminally B
117
Is cajolt a kind of sharp persuasion? I'm cross that we can't get cajole.
taser persuaser
yay! bottom e greyed out! ;)
You're right, it could be a good marketing name for a taser. Gosh, we're like Alex in the Apprentice, creative powerhouses...
still giggling about Stuart's week
Great effort, Lile!
Oh yes, he of the extreme masculinity. Does he shave yet, do you think?
thank you haz! *bows deeply*
I've greyed that tile as well, so I know the effort involved.
doubt it
wtg haz!
How many words to grey out that tile?
1
But it was a four letter word.
lol!
oh, heh :o) then I've greyed it too
Mutual respect.
yay dfm!
ooh yay two more sixers :oD
I greyed the o hahah
joins the "I've greyed the e tile club"
impressive!
welcome fm! congrats
I bet there ARE no O words :oO
It'll take Ata ages.
lol! haz
She'll probably ask for clues.
got the e, too, but otherwise, not much and I don't believe there's an 8!
I got it ages ago!
I greyed the O tile right from the start
oh Haz, you can cook. What should I cook with a ham joint? As in vegetables and potatoes etc
I'm still looking for words starting from the O, but I guess I don't need to now :o)
Cauliflour or broccoli?
wasted effort dfm
And always potatoes. Boiled or baked maybe.
with a ham joint, all kinds of bean, a little pasta, onions and celery and you'll have a great minestrone.
But not a soup, ruby, the ham's for carving, I think.
If you do a cauliflour cheese then you have some sauce to go with everything.
I always make ham and then just end up eating it in sandwiches cos proper ham sandwiches are delicious. Yes, as a main meat thing
isn't it cauliflower? o.0
oooo cauliflower cheese! that's a lovely idea!
Probably. I'm not sure about the spelling of broccoli either. I know I've got potatoes right.
yes, cauliflower
write it out 100 times till you remember
is this m word as tricky as the e word?
I use broccoli instead of cauliflower and saute some onion with a hint of garlic and then combine with the cheese sauce.
But don't overcook your cauliflower or it will be mushy. Cauliflower is best with a bit of bite. Cauliflower doesn't like to be overdone. There, three times.
found it!
strange word
it is worse Lile
yay lile
You would almost put the mu5 on your garden
This is a grid of non words
best place for it lynxxx
heh, typo'd the m earlier :oD yay for dvorak
yes fm - never heard of the li5
li5 is very common for me!
Better do something about dinner - bye all
bye lynxxx
how so ata?
I must say it at least a few times a week
I bet lynxxx is going to make ham and cauliflower.
Bye lynxxx
She's stolen our ideas.
she's mu4'd them
thanks for the li5, whoever mentioned the fiveyness :o)
one of my frieds has never had ham in coca cola so I said I'd make it for them
lol ata! and why, may I ask?
Oh, that's a Nigella 'wait until I pout' Lawson recipe, isn't it?
because we use li5 a lot to map the Kent coast
yep! and it's absolutely *gorgeous*
ham in coca cola? o.0
Just like her. (Sarcastic font)
oooo maybe you're a scientist? (just looked it up) and now see you chat...
I made that once. It's not very good. Morning!
easy word for you then :)
ham in coke is absolutely delicious
gm jayk!
Maybe Ata is a scientist? With Einstein as a grandfather what else could she be?
yep :) we use li5, multi-beam and side-scan sonars :)
Good morning, Jayk.
Hi Ruby, Haz, Ata, Etc
this thing is fiendish!
I could have deviated from the family norms!
does the kent coast need so much mapping?
Another letter greyed. We're flying through.
lucky for me i woke up at 3 effing thirty
every coast needs so much mapping
which one haz?
<-- never had ham in coke o.0 recipe (or something)?
do coasts change so much then?
that is an ungodly hour Jayk
The L. A five letter as well.
Back in 5, am down to 21
it's more that most really haven't ever been mapped in great detail before the last few years
Very ungodly!
ata's word, that is haz
See you shortly.
we map a lot to help work out all the new marine conservation zones that are being created at the moment
Meaning, see FM shortly, I'm still here.
that's interesting ata. You would have thought the coast map would be the outline for a country.
not even half. notice the da4/7 and the dr4/5, both for expressing frustration with this hard grid
it is - but now we can map down to metre sensitivities out to sea, so we can see all the seabed and what's on it, and where features are etc etc
ah - good work ata. Saw Massive Nature episode last night. sardines being attacked by dolphins, sharks, sealions and gannets all working together... impressive stuff!
Belfast's river counts as a word - la5.
goodness!
all marine stuff is quite amazing :)
dont know belfast's river... ;(
Google it!
one vowel off an x-man :)
fascinating and inspiring work you have ata
Or la plus the start of a male goose.
ty - got it!
didn't know there was a river in Belfast, ty haz
So now you know!.
*smug*
50 words down, but must go and do something. bbl to monkey some more strange and silly words...
thanks haz :o)
any clue for the bottom u for nbt?
u4/5
ur4
And ur5 - u plus unusual
ty dfm
Am going to try the standing on my head approach and see if that helps.
monkeys are looking for the other but, at least, nbt
Make sure to take everything out of your pockets, FM.
yay, u's greyed
I'm glad it's not just me having problems with this.
lol fm! bye all!
good point Haz :) Bye Lile.
Bye, Lile.
bye lile
Yay found the 8 - it works!
But I've never been able to stand on my head.
If I turn the monitor upside down ,will that work?
first letters, fm?
Now that is a much more sensible idea Haz
ca8/50 (its 2 words)
*smug* Always sensible.
There's an 8? o.0
ty fm
I'm sure I have the first part, but can't imagine the second. Too many possibilities\
what this grid does not have a lot of! (of words)
ha ha Ata!
cultalog - a listing of all the world's weirdos?
I still think that ca4 cl4/7s would go down well with Dutch truckers.
am back - cannot leave. stuck to chair... glued to screen...
Lile is heading for a case of babble butt.
superglue or normal glue, lile?
LOL Haz v funny.
are you well, Haz? First you admit not being able to spell a word, then use a word like butt!
ca4/5 cl4/5 - a condition suffered by Dutch truckers if they don't exercise enough.
lol! is that rbi? (repetative babble injury)
I know, my standards are slipping.
it sounds so much better than babble bottom tho, dont you think?
In my defence, people have always been the butt of jokes.
If Haz starts to use txt speak we'll know something is really wrong.
oh yes, it just sounded funny coming from you :)
blame it on the grid....
I know. Text speak and profanities will indicate either dementia or kidnap.
which is it today, haz?
Probably the start of dementia. I blame that badger song.
And this grid is enough to make anyone mad.
badgers are not good for ones health - just like this grid!
and sprite said it was fun!!!!
It's just one of those slow grids where you pick out a word at a time. Ten minutes apart. And then nothing.
Am giving and and going to the list.
it is fun!
I'm more than half way, I've allowed myself to list and I can't even find an al4!!!
just cos you know words like li5 ata!!!
(think singing, LIle)
*smug*
another al4 haz...
al plus Mr Garfunkel's start.
Or al plus the Camelot King's start.
Or a plus the ascending bird.
There - haven't used them in clues for AGES.
ty haz! *sigh*
Camelot's king ok, Mr, Garfunkel yes, but ascending bird???
I don't get *any* of those clues :o/
'The **** Ascending' Vaughan Williams
without its last letter
(back from google) .... ah - that bird! ;)
Thanks for those a's!
Yes, it should have been part of the ascending bird.
(Making note to be more accurate in future)
very sloppy work today, haz
definitely dementia
I know.
I am ul5 ashamed of myself.
nice recovery!
Perhaps you should stop smoking g5/24
ty for the g5 fm!
yw :)
50 left - slog slog
*makes note not to listen to sprite when she calls a grid fun*
She's Dutch and probably has mistranslated the meaning of the word 'fun'. She probably thinks it means fiendishly difficult and guaranteed to make you pull your hair out.
Her English is usually pretty good, but now and again you just know that she's got hold of the wrong end of the stick.
that must be it - especially when she must feel at home with the cl in the grid...
It's the only feasible explanation.
f-fiendishly, u-unfriendly, n-nasty
we should send her to ga4/6 as a fr5/20
You've got it, Lile.
sucky duck done :)
ty f5 fm!
thanks for the g5 fm :o)
clever cl4's ata!
sucky duck was a pain 1st this this a.m it wouldn't save and took forever to enter the numbers.
fun puzzle though :P
ooh found the 8 :oD
yay dfm
Look at that, FM. You give the clues and Ata gets the glory.
And she wasn't even here, she was doing sucky-duck. I'd sulk if I were you.
such is life.
I was doing both!
it's the mu4 doing its bit again
what about this au5 then?
Yes, but you weren't giving clues!
Did I point out I finished sucky duck ages ago and btw I have fireworks here too.
Glory abounds around FM!
that wasn't implied in your words. You said I was away doing sucky duck :P
au5/12 of the ear or hearing
Well done!
is sucky duck another game???
yay fm
YAY FM!
It's what we call Sudoku Lile.
we decided to call SuDoku "sucky duck", lile
Sucky duck is Sudoku.
speaking of which I should check out IronSudoku again, eventually...
ah - ty
not so good with numbers myself
ok, got to go for a bit. back later for the last fun 39!
or with hearing... au5 is hiding
bye ata!
See you later, Ata.
Bye Ata
(sudoku isn't much to do with numbers - just patterns)
Au plus part of the bird ascending, backwards.
I know, you can't ascend backwards, but my mind's working strangely.
got it in one, thanks haz. Very nice clue :)
I like KaKuro better... anyone know some online site for it?
lol!
Poor wee surprised bird, it'll do no singing in that shape.
(you can if you're a mouse and a cat has grabbed you by your tail, then you'd ascend backwards side first towards the fangs)
slitherlink is fun too...
what is slitherlink - sounds harry potterish
Oh, poor little mouse.
just saying :) *really poofs* (never said the mousey didn't get to escape before the fangs!)
it's ata's sharkiness coming out
http://www.puzzle-loop.com/ <== more numbers though. And lots of dots. (I usually do the weekly. weekly, of course.)
Right, I'm going to be all disciplined and get some other things done. I've had about as much fun as I can take with this grid, I'll just have to come back for more!
looks like a nice distraction from this grid
good for you, haz! I admire the strength. see you later
Toodle-oo!
and I shall head off too as have much to do today. Happy Babbling!
bye fm. till next time
dfm - this game is against the clock!
hehe oh, and slitherlink was a puzzle related to Harry Potter in last year's College Puzzle Challenge o.0
haha - good name for it!
ca6 anyone?
thanks lile :o)
yw - now could you clue it please?
ca6/27 (anat.) toward the tail
(opp. cranial)
not good with anatomical terms.... ;(
hmm... fish have dorsal fins and ca6 fins?
found it... ty (good old monkeys)
well, if you put a million of them in a room with typewriters...
;) shakespeare used that trick, didn't he?
no, he used a trillion of them.
have monkeys got more clever then?
jeez, I'm even missing the most common words in this da4 grid
nah, we've just expanded our dictionaries more.
lol!
enough enough enough, no more of this unfriendly grid. I stop. Going away to recover and then come back for more.... bye!
bye lile :o)
good luck dfm! (wave)
Clue please for at 6/18
at6/18 spear thrower
Thanks got it
25 left, list-less... leaving for work super early...
Hello, All :-)
I don't think user "all" exists, zooz :o)
lol..no i think you are right..i could hear the echowhen i said it..LOL
heh, I was *almost* able to reply to myself without interruption :o/
lol
not an easy grid this...need 9 more words.
21 words to go, haven't listed yet :o)
me neither..eyes are starting ache..lol
but you have Stats! :oO
I spent about 15 minutes plugging away at O words before I learnt there were none... you don't need to through that ;oP
this is true, dfmchfhf, i could not do these grids without the stats.
I couldn't pull it off without the chat though :o)
I thought after a while i just had to go pro, so glad i did..made grid life alot easier..lol
I'm wishing my credit card can get here already so I *can* go pro... or maybe I need to figure this prepaid card thing :o/
Oh yes, i remember a few of us talking about this before now you mention it..i hope your credit card gets to you soon.
will have to call you DFM easier than typing your whole babble name :-)
most people end up shortening my name :o) it's inherent to one that is so hard to type/remember
lol
when i type, i do one finger typing & am looking at the keyboard..lol
It has gotten to the point where I even respond to "c" (that's my name shortened to "d" and then 'shortened' further still by removing the '|' part)
lol..just found a drug term word
hmm, I wonder how much my Babbling will change when I go Pro... :o/
morning all...do i start???
Not sure, will make it go quicker thats for sure..although some grids are very twisty as you know.
Morning Babblers :)
morning carlee :o) always start!
morning nono
carlee its a mean little twisty grid, it might be your type
Hello, Carlee, i am down to 6 Carlee, so yes you should start.
Hello, Nono :-)
is it a quick grid...i have to get ready for camping
ok
to be honest, i don`t think it is a quick grid, but still start :-)
not too quick... I'm four hours in list-less and I'm at 99/117. 100/117.
erh, three hours in. :o/
hope you were not telling yourself it will take you another hour to find the last 7, DFM..lol
"curare" is very phantomey!
I'd probably list before then!
chop the head off though, and you have a word
Hello, Kalea :-)
hi kalea
hello zoom
hello carlee
Hi Kalea
hello Nono
thanks kalea :o)
most welcome df
yayyyyyyyy I found the 8
Well done, Nono :-)
hi all
Hello, Jmc :-)
strange little words, definitely need the monkeys on this one
hi jmc
i guess i should change my icon since pease is no longer in the grid
yes, my monkeys have found a few strange words..lol
little is the operative word!
hi jmc....dfm..today i will list early..too much to get done so we dont freeze our whooo hahhhs off at camp this weekend...
i thought they were hoo hahs
Hope you have a great time at camp, Carlee..can`t remember the last time i went camping.
your what huhs? o.0
i do we called it the vacation from hell
i have had coffee...they are what they are and they arent awake...they are wondering who woke them up
i havent* even
"from" didn't you mean "to"?
your hoo hahs aren't awake? that confusals me
lol
nope it rose up from hell
thought a hoo ha was a vajayjay
Hello, Jean :-)
a hoo ha is a more dangling part
hya zooz
and as much as i love oprah she has a lot to answer for for popularizing that word
*something* told me it would be a bad idea to try googling the term... lucky I didn't? o.0
rivet rivet
she stole it from "Scrubs"
along with vajingo
i don't know if it would have worked since there are so many variant spellings dfm
nevertheless it was oprah that got it into the average conversation
Ah, it's Friday morning and we are chatting about hoo hah's and vajangos. Very good. Carry on.
Hello, molly :-)
still probably would have landed more hits to certain topics than I would want :o) especially at work
concede, jmc
what do you want molly some of us have not had our coffee yet :-(
Heya Zoom. Happy Friday.
ooo no not a goo word to google at work!
*good
coffee? Caffeine makes me sleepy... *sips tea*
i have yet to find a word with more than 4 letters
drag
what kind of tea?
so true esprit
orange pekoe? I think...
kinda of a dr** when your baby says she loves you. . . .
no good tea at work... also teabags :o(
says she "don't" love you
uh you realize pekoe has caffeine, right?
The Buckinghams!
yeah, most tea has caffeine. Still makes me sleepy. At work... *zzz*
i knew there was something wrong with the way I remembered the lyrics
*pokes dfm to wake him up*
ow! *continues Babbling*
baby! it wasn't that hard
Is it just me, or is God's little ac4 in 98% of the grids?
words tend to cluster in grids
for while i thought the hawiian goose was never going to fly away
at the rate i am going i think i may find all 75 4 letter words before anything else
That sounds like a ukulele song lyric
jmc I thought so too :o) especially because I started at 0430h today
lol probably is
yikes why were you up so early?
are you working the graveyard shift?
‹(•¿•)›Fireworks‹(•¿•) ›
whoo hooo zooz!
My brain is refusing to see anything but mulatto.
went to sleep early (before midnight! :oO) and have to get to work at 8... too little time to go back to sleep for me (takes about 3 hours for me to go to sleep :o( )
Yay! Zoom!
congrats zooz!
the m is mu5 i was told at the flip
11 words to go... should I list or continue?
since you have time i would go for it
congrats Zooz
i kept seeing mulatto too
mu5/16 Jmc
mu5/16 to deprive (sb.) of sth.
and it is all in that corner.
ty zooz i think i will wander off for some coffee
The mu is a weird ass word.
ok..got my coffee..and a toasted bagel with cream cheese
just finished up a yogurt, no coffee yet tho
ooh, mu5/16 also means to fine...
ok..no time for this..i either list or leave
wont be home later to do this...
nope...i am gone for now....if i get packed i will be back...
Then list, woman.
list then carl
what is sth of which mu5 deprives you
I think that sth is an abbreviation for something
oh
good mornin babblers!
hi evan
so, is todays grid a beast or a kitten?
it was crowded for a while but no emptyish
beast
it's a beastly kitten!
back from lunch
hi ruby
hello jmc. We've been on at different times lately
65 this AM
i have been at lots of stupid meetings where i cant even babble
stoopid meetings
def stupid meetings!
and i need to get ready for one more
I was up so early because of a meeting >:o(
:-(
i dont mind meetings so much if i can babble in them
I have wonderful dreams which wake me up but then I can't remember them. Only the good feelings
well, that and the fact I slept before midnight. :o/
well keeping the good feelings is good
jmc why can't you Babble at meetings?
Eva! How's the new do?
Eva! How's the new do?
jmc -- you will appreciate this, then:
well if i chair them it is hard
http://tinyurl.com/2rkkv7
its short, molly! husband loves it, and im still getting used to it! there was so much hair on the floor, i could have made a pet out of it!
eva i can;t get my pics on flickr to show so people can vote on my interview outfits! :-(
can you knit, evan?
i wish i could, ruby. i have considered taking a class...
jmc -- whats your flickr username?
lol!
'morning babblers
you could knit a dog
jmcnrick
:-)
hi welki

hug, but at a distance, jmc!
siesta time in dixie! see you later
enjoy, ruby
Happy Friday to all
hints for the A in the far-right column?
Hi Eva, just starting here. I'll help you look. Although every word I have typed in is not found in the dictionary
the only one i have sounds like the emotion you'd feel if you were mad
got one ... the door is slightly open it is aj**
ag4/6 and ag4/7
sorry I think it is an4/6
Hi ((Welki and River))
No jaguars.
that would be the one i'm thinking of, river
Good Morning Everyone or should I say al5/12
(and mom's clue greys out the columm with river's)
this grid although small is a beast
not column .. just that right sided a
TY
gotta go, see you all later.
bye ((Mom))
((River)) have a good day
hello all
frat
good morning all
morning!
hrmmm... im starting to think that perhaps "sleepytime" was not the best tea selection for today...
hi eva!
mornin m9!
hey evaN
no pic of your shoes in the flickr shots!lol
hi, is it poss to get clue for the 8 please - it was clued earlier but I just couldn't get it!!!
not yet -- i didnt get one from any friends! the pro photog took a few, but i havent seen those yet.
ca 8/50...in the store you use a shopping **** + doing a **** of laundry
I really like the unscripted kiss. And you and your dad coming down stairs.
phew.. thanks molly.. I can list now
yeah, my friends got some really good ones. makes me excited to see the "real" ones!
i still need a 6-letter word for NBS. :)
Brilliant molly, thanks very much
I'm nervous.. cause I'm pretty much gonna BE the "real" ones for my daughter!
I have one... ha6
6/27
TY m9 -- thats NBT and NBS for me! :)
yay!
it's the only 6 I have..
ta6 - fragrant powder
M9, how are you going to photograph your daughter's wedding? How will you be in the family photos?
either timer.. or I will get remote
at6/18 = at + dont be ***e for work + *eave it to me (very strange word)
off to work I go - have a great day everyone
I can also hand off the camera for a couple....LOL
Molly.. I read your profile. I'm so sorry.
Thanks M9.
we had a scare just last week.. ER with chest pains.
Life is precious and sometimes shorter than we imagine it will be. Glad all you had was a scare.
hello haz!
I think a scare was just what he needed though.. he's finally watching his blood sugar.
Hello TO!
*pokes haz and pets spangle*
Righteous indignation from me!
Hello.
Hello, cgw.
gotta love that spear throwin' at6!
:)
Molly - just read your profile, too. I am so sorry! I am about your same age. My husband and I are celebrating 28 years today. Sometimes I know we take each other for granted and we shouldn't. Hugs to you for what you have gone through and continue to go through.
One more for nbt. Anyone have a clue for the "M" word?
mu5. only one vowel
Thanks TNana and happy anniversary. I love a good love story.
mu5/16 - three quarters of a stubborn equine, plus baby's bed without the vowel. (or army bed)
ty - another strange word!
thanks, Molly
M9, is your husband diabetic?
Bingo! first column
yes Molly.
But not insulin dependent?
Does anyone have any hints for the U in the left column?
It is ul5 easy to find.
Some cigarettes are ul5 lites.
now that would just make people who can't find it feel bad, haz. ;oP
Oh wow, how did I miss that
at ER his blood sugar was 400. His a1c (or whatever it's called) was 13.1 (top of range is 12!) and triglycerides which should be in the 120-170 range were 1203
yes.. not insuline dependent.
I didn't give the clue to make anyone feel bad, I gave it to help cgw find the word.
bingo 1st column for me, too
I had a good friend who was diabetic (he also passed away recently, yes it has been tough in Molly's world). I learned a lot about diabetes from him.
can't believe there are ten words with that top "T"!
I'm right there with you TNana, not believing it.
i know! I have 3 of them
down to 9 left, no list... >.<
I've found two and struggled with that - ha!!
oh Molly... that's tough to lose people in bunches.
pfpft! dfm!! LOL
thanks nana :o) got me 2 more
a few years ago we lost one brother's wife, one brother, and our uncle.
My poor brother was just a mess.
bye haz
I'm up to4 6's!
Between the end of last December and May I lost my friend, my boss and my husband. It's very tough when it all comes down at once.
Bye, TO. I'm off as well.
yes, it's time.
five sixes...
Bingo! right column
Can anyone give any more hints for sixes? I only have 3.
oh Molly! things do seem to come in three's don't they. Glad you have children and an awesome DIL to be with through it
tu6/24, ta6/27, ha6/27, ca6/27, at6/18 I have... which ones are you missing?
I have at6, ca6, ha6, and ta6. what do you have?
:o( none I don't have m9
tu6 is a Canadian fish(es) name
Um...I have at6, ha6, and ta6
i never met you dfm. are you new?
ca6 (anat.) toward the tail; opp. cranial
there's a tr also.
no, I've been here five+ years! :oO
dfm is a speedy.
First month back from a 1.5-year hiatus, before which I've only chatted exactly twice... so I guess I'm new to the chat?
oh i thought perhaps you had never met haz. i think you offended her
:o( I did?
Babble ate my tr6 :o/ but says I already have it...
for etiquette's sake i will poof *poof*
hit refresh dfm
don't worry dfm. It was obvious that you were just being silly. Nothing to take offense at.
hello :)
Hi welki
anyone have a clue for the 8 yet?
compound trent
yes ... ca8 ... shopping ca** + **** of laundry
ca 8/50
ty!
or welki could just spell it out.LOL
Ugh, I need to get a bigger vocabulary.
ca8/50 the quantity a typical (usu.) hand-drawn or horse-drawn vehicular container is capable of retaining
yeah cg, but where could you ever use it?!? LOL
that was a great clue, welki
hmmm.. thought she asked for a clue, not for stats
Well, I play scrabble a lot. xD
sorry.l. I usually play at flip, when stats ARE the clue!LOL don't mind me.. just silly up too early
cgw, just monkey the words ;o) We all do, to some extent...
The key to Scrabble is not a big vocabulary... it's knowing how to lie about fake words ;o)
the rules change here every day (or more often sometimes) ... i'll just be quiet now :)
Hahaha, that's true.
no don't be quiet! this is a tough grid!
I played a game with only seven real words on the board o.0 and I think all three of us lost something on the order of 10 turns each...
I think welki took it that you didn't like her giving me that good clue, m9
Haha, wow. My games are boring, most of us don't lie.
yes.. I figured that.
no worries ... some folks get ticked off when clues like that are given, some don't. there's one player here who'll leave if someone gives a pretty obvious description of a word. i say, this is a game *shrug*
I like obvious clues. xD
I have noticed that certain times of day have different "flavors".LOL
I give REALLY obvious clues right before flip!LOL
and very cryptic ones right after..
i have an eclectic palate, so bring on the flavors! lolol
I think it's fun to play with the clues too.
sometimes I try and have all my clues be related to songs. that's very hard to do...
I like definitions more than clues myself :o/
I see you love to fish, welki - me, too
I live in Montana and there are lots of opportunities here, also
if I give clues I make them like cryptic crossword ones...
you mean actual fish, right? we're not talking about babble?LOL
bottom line is that this is a g*a*m*e ... if some folks don't want to see obvious clues, then close down the chat box ... but those same players are the ones who ask and ask for clues, but when they finish the grid, they *poof* into the vapours
all true
<-- is just waiting for the ice fishing to begin (shouldn't be long, it's -6F here today)
yes, actual fish!
ah.. like folks who say tu6? without even saying hello first?
we have a reservoir not too far from here that is great for ice fishing
that always cracks me up for some reason
-6F is how much C?
will be awhile, *sigh*, before it's frozen....
ice fishing! eek
it's COLD
(sorry, too lazy to calculate)
not if you dress warm!
feh .. common courtesy (like common sense) ain't so common
I do not say hello or good bye and never have figured out the best bait for ice
-6F = about -20C
<-- wore a t-shirt to go icefishing last time o.o
hi BR
I agree Welki. If someone asks for stats, I give stats. If someone asks for a clue, I give a clue. And not "it builds on the n6" because what if they don't have the n6. It is *just a game*.
hey babble .. the best bait for ice is a glass :)
that's crazy, df!
LOL
needless to say, I got frostbite :o(
it can be awefully sunny and still be icy I suppose.
I'll bet
i'm old. i go icefishing with creature comforts.
oh... that would have been pb in previous grid!LOL
<-- doesn't feel the cold a lot of the time... forgets his jacket and gets frostbitten pretty often...
stay south, dfm .. or risk losing important parts!
glad it's not the previous grid right now :o)
what do you all think of this as a 20th anniversary present,i have 2.5 years to save up for it a 1 week get away to this place..... http://justpaste.it/5ko
they have really nice shanties now and very warm clothing
my friend's dog in Alaska came into kitchen and started wagging tail like crazy.... and the tip came off and blood started flying with every wag...
but the south is too hot... :o( even at home have the windows open... and I'm in Ottawa for now...
oh, gross
poor thing
(well, not in Ottawa last Winter though)
Bye
WOW...
Looks like a good time Crossy!
bye cg!
expensive:/:(((
crossy, those places are soooo expensive! for a mere fraction of the price, come west and i'll fit you out on the ice .. you'll HAVE to cuddle1
heh, Maldives reminds me of Mcdull... XoD
lol welki,i live with ice just like you
(m, i have a cat who escaped during winter, gone for 2 weeks and lost the tips of her ears)
bbl
yes, but if you're home, you're not away on vacation
bye, trents
she doesn't get claustrophobic I hope? not a lot of room on those islands!LOL
so where'd babble go?
2.5 years... so your anniversary is in the summer?
Babble is over there <=============< still... hasn't run away or anything...
in the grid probably.
nobody is over there at the moment though, I guess?
aren't those "cabins" like a grand a day? (or more?)
roughly m9,i am not awake yet,our anniversary is oct first
(and then the air fare! holy mackaloney! you could buy a summer cottage!)
everything would be roughly 10,000
flight, top end cabin food booze etc
This is where I'd want to go: http://www.trappfamily.com/amenities
well that sure would make a nice present, crossy. i'm sure elegant would flip :)
I don't like spending money though.
My christmas list says: libman mop, storage containers for kitchen, ....
cannot take it with you m9 may as well have some fun
oct 1st! you silly.
i just bought a new mop ... love it. what's special about a libman mop?
My Christmas list says: next year's Christmas list o.o
(just realized how pathetic it is to actually love a mop)
I like the wringing out method.. and I like to be able to step on the mop for spots..LOL
Nice idea for an anniversary gift Cross. M9, that lodge looks breath taking.
LOL welki
doesn't it Molly? and they have cool workshops.
another dream of mine is to go to education week at BYU
aha! then you might like what i have .. a vileda pro wring. it has disposable mopheads (which actually last quite a long time)
wow.. if someone was gonna spend 10000 dollars on me?? I'd want photo equipment!!!!
http://www.vileda.ca/en/mops/string/wr ing.aspx
brb coffee
pretty much looks like the libman.LOL
LOL... only at babble...Maldives to mops!
think i would rather the maldives
lol
I'd rather just not worry about the mortgage every month.
LOL
that just a day in the life, you have to pause sometimes and leave all that crap for a few days
yes.. that's why I play babble!LOL
if i have to,ill sell some of this crap we have built up over the year, damn place is full to the brim with stuff
I can't spend money to have fun though.. it would drive me crazy... thinking of things getting further behind.
where there is a will, there is a way
But we have LOTS of fun around here! So that's good.
it is good
You should see my kids playing twister.ROFL!
twister is a great thing for the kids;) burns some of that energy off
I have the Holloway House mop and I love it. Yes, I too, love my mop.
<--- has to use the mop today. we've had lots of snow and i have dogs (will not love the mop while using it)
hardwood Molly?
figured it out,i would have to hide away 225 month or so till oct 1st 2013
you could hide it in my house
I want a commercial rubber bottom mat for inside my door...
wow! that's a lot.
lol welki
what's her interests?
I wish M9. All the flooring in my place that isn't carpeted is VCT.
our hardwood is in really good shape for not being finished (at least not in a long time)..
oohhh.. that's what I would like.. my hardwoods refinished! and teh house painted!
what's vct?
crossy, what about interest and/or inflation?
and a SHOWER!!!
vinyl composition tile
Airfare for two and a week at that place is only five grand?
i would love hardwood flooring and ceramic tile ... alas, my other half is a carpet and lino sort of guy
I want lino! our kitchen is just old tiles and it has bumps where water has gotten in at the junctions..
hehehe, grass is always greener
I've had a tile floor before..and it got really slick when wet. I don't like ceramic. I don't like grout.
my goal is 225 a month,if flights get cheaper or i use less on misc items during the trip dfm,i can just dump it back into the household funds
but you always run into unforseen expenses, you never save just the exact ammoint
she won't notice that?!?!?
i do the finances m9
if anyone needs a clue (or stats *lol*), ask now before i pretend to get motivated to get moving here
nice.
I
it is not as hard as you think, till last month we had our cable with rogers, our phone with bell canada and our internet with yet another provider..then i consolodated them all under one provider and am now saving 100 a month...so that is half of it right there
who'd you sign up with?
I'd notice if all of a sudden we had no money for groceries,LOL... cause that's what would have to happen here!LOL
sweet!
lol,you save in other ways like i said below
we don't have cable... and my phone and computer are already together.. can't do it there... ;-)
(we do the same, crossy ... shaw, telus, rogers)
no coffee and muffin every moring from tim hortons..that saves an incredible $540.00 a year!
I don't drink coffee..and I don't eat out. Shoot!
I don't buy prepared foods either. dang it!
m9, we're in the same position! :oO We're missing out on all these savings!
LOL..sure are!
so you add up the savings of 100 per month on my cable/phone /net and add in the 540 a year on not doing timmies
who'd you consolidate all your accounts with, crossy?
it is not so hard,if you are determined
:)
you're almost there crossy!
rogers
determination here means I clean house for a woman, and I do taxes in the spring.
easy eh??? lol
did you get to keep your old phone number/land line? or do you only use cell phones?
I make my own laundry soap! that's actually very cost effective!
i kept my number and yes i still have a land line
rogers took the land line over
buy clothes second hand.
Hi! May I please have the stats for the M and the L in the left hand column?
mu5\
lol m9,i wait till the bargain store has a gallon jug of it on sale for 2 dollars
i'll have to look into that ... later, folks!
it's still cheaper to make it!
Got the M. TY
and it's very GOOD laundry soap!
yw car
you can make a 40 load ammount for less that 2 dollars???
those bargain store ones aren't very good usually. Let me get the cost breakdown..just a sec
you must give me the recipie then;)
(rogers does television?)
they do welki
drat .. just went to website. not in alberta.
How about the L?
about 71 cents for 2 gallons
in ontario they do anyways
wow! pretty cheap m9!
m9 needs to tell us how to make laundry soap... :oO
3rd recipe on this page: http://www.duggarfamily.com/recipes.ht ml
works great.
keep your laundry bottles now so you can put your made stuff in them
ty m9,i shall look into this in more detail later;)
yup.
I'm looking into making our own hair stuff now. We quit using shampoo a while ago..
but as you can see, with the entertainment consoladation and cutting out timmies,i am actually almost there:)
and without starving the family lol
we're about refinance the house.. which will save us almost 200 a month.. but that just means we won't be falling behind as much each month!LOL
we've been very fortunate (if you can call it that) to have gotten money from people dying a few times in the past.. but that's not a renewable resource!
lol,not really
I would consider making laundry soap if I had a big family. I don't, so it seems too messy and time consuming.
unless you're a "black widow" I suppose....
crossy checks to make sure he is not related in some way to m9...:)...whew! i will not have to check my car brakes every morning
it's not messy at all! At least I don't find it to be so.. and I love it that I have to do it so infrequently!!! it lasts such a long time!
yes,was looking this over, cannot spend my life in the kitchen boiling up shampoo and soap all the time either
LOL!
Have you ever accidentally thought that your shampoo/soap were food? :oO
you guys.. I spend WAY less time making the soap than I used to spend buying it. amazing.
since we are only 3 people not 19 lol,
uh.. no.
we're 6
ugh Breckfast
i just saw it was a duggar recipie is all are they not the one with the litter of 19?
yes.
thought so
I think that's what they're up to now
helloooooooo
howdy varumba
hi var :o)
hi there crossy, am good tx and you?
hi dfm!
hi
hi m9
so io've gone through lickety's once already, and left with 20 words...... tough tough grid!
down to 7 and list-less var :o)
How many words today?
wow impressive!
117
Thanks.
i have 23 left
I got a lot of help from chat though
am just about to ask my first clue ;)
but still impressive dfm :P
sooooo i'm issing the the ar5 and at 6/18... any1 got them?
i meant the two ar5*
at6/18 spear thrower
one sounds like a woman's name and we've had it a few times lately
the other is not short?
ar5/12 palm e.g. Betel palm
ar5/10 unit of weight (pl.) <== weird plural
okkkkk i tihkn i'm gonna have to use morewords as i really haven't got a clue, despite all your clues!
ra not short?
oops. ar not short
I just completed the ra's.
bingo! middle column
the only word that comes to my mind for not short is long, or tall... and not in the grid......
lol m9, wd
make one of those even shorter..LOL
ar shorter not short..
ok, i'm absolutely sure that i typed ar5/10 3 times, and it did not take it
reading your reply m9, i tried again and it took it!
am certain i did not mistype it.... mmmmmm
I've had that happen to me before too
short? o.o
just monkeyed the other one, was looking for somethign sounding vaguely like a female name ;) tx m9
now to the spear thrower.....
probably aztecan or something...
at6/18 (cryptic:) spear thrower doubles Aztec god tail (6)
nice one dfm
oh i know the aztec god tail i know it! but can't think of the name right now...
ok, is it a vowel or a cons after the t?
que....
con
oh wow found it!
yay
gonna have to look that up later on to find out how to even pronounce it!!
ty ty :)
hmm, I think it would be more cryptic if I just said "Aztec snake tail" instead of "Aztec god tail".
thing is, i could only think of it in French.... and not even the real name, but the name used in a French film years ago, lolol
I had a friend that raised axolotls.. I used to bug her by saying "how's the little amoxicillins??"
Your flag is totally not the French flag! :oP
no, causei live in the UK
like Ruby has the french flag on, even though she is american
yeah I know hence the ":oP"
lol m9
ooh, var, the question I was asking yesterday... the phoneme /j/ sounds like the "y" in "yes" in English ;oP
yes, i realised that.... it would only be the combination of hia in french .... basically ia... we don't have 1 letter that does that sound
the "j" sound is /dÊ’/
ok, am sure the ca6/27 has the same start as ca8/50...... am i right? i can't find the right combination again....
ca6/27 in fact does *not* :oO
lol, not it's not, just found another combination that works ;)
ca6/27 toward the tail (opp. cranial)
oh you got it :o)
yep, just realised there was a u there that could be used ;)
oh hey, French *does* have /j/... hier = /i.jɛr/ :oO (but it's not associated with a letter)
as i said
first ca5 pls, hello all
hi peri!
first one measure the size of the diamond :)
hi peri :o)
NM
cr
help with the left L please
don't forget to putthe *** back on the jar + the **ch of Noah
ty!
yw :)
must th ewords be in order?
they are in alphabetical order indeed , in the list
the WHAT of Noah? ;oP it's a 'k' not 'ch', var
well jeff understood me, all that matters
i believe it is that spelling in brit english
nope, -ch doesn't (usually) float
well it is used in this country - but i'm sure you know better
-k is the floaty one... and the initial letter is capitalised too o.o
good thing we use ** then for missing letters
everytime i look at this board i see the word "jongler"
brid!! helloooo
hiya var
"jongler"? o.0
it's not there, i just see it. think it should be there. rearrange the letters to make it there.
go on brid, get that board right ;)
i meant * make it right ;)
lol. then jongleur could be there too. see. it would be good.
but, uh, that's not what you do.
you make words based on how the letters actually are...not how your brain thinks they should be.
i believe they call it "phantom' here.... when you keep on seeing a word that's not there
yep
my phantoms today are "catalogue" and "curare"
phant canard
Hello.
hi there cgw :)
I'm back for about 2 minutes. xD
that's a bit short to finish the grid!
Lol yeah.
Dangit, math beckons. D:
ohhh.. what do you mean math?
guys, i can't find the first na4/5 for my life.... any1 has it?
Math class. And the teacher isn't here so I get to work on this a little more. xD
math is awesome :o(
<-- CS/Math major
But I'm taking pre-calc and it sucks. D:
nm finally found it
<--- math tutor..
ooh thanks var :o)
well if you're ever stuck.. just ask here!LOL
xD
<-- took advanced calc, so unless you want to lose your sanity, don't ask here!
dfm and I will straighten you out.LOL
dfm... way to not get my back!LOL
Hahaha
used to grade/tutor multivariable calc.. diffy q
But I don't want to drive someone insane! Do:
but I can totally help with the precalc stuff...
Ugh, I would never be able to tutor or major in math.
see, in my very first calc course, we covered stuff up to and including Banach algebras o.0
although not in very much detail...
Aaaand... I don't know what that is. :D
lol
you're LUCKY you don't have to think about convergence theorems whenever you look a graph!
xD
And I think the function f(x) := piecewise ( 1 if x is rational, 0 if x is irrational ) is forever stuck in my head...
Lolol nice
as is f(x) := piecewise ( 1/n if x can be written in lowest terms as m/n, 0 otherwise) (which is an AWESOME function by the way)
How can a function be awesome? D:
MATH GEEKS!!!!
lol hi kap
when you analyse it there are infinitely many points where the function is equal to 1 between 0 and 1, but the area under the curve is 0 :oO
"curve"
...Oh. That's...uh...pretty awesome.
ohhh. cool!
0!
and the second function, the limit at every point is 0.
I think my head is gonna explode. All this talk of math and my class hasn't even started yet. D:
Chuck Norris can divide by zero.
first da 4/7?
see, don't talk to me about math! Or you'll go crazy!
xD
How can a number be rational? Numbers can't think. (And neither can I).
first da 4/7?
offensive term for a nationality
d + a long time ***, i went to school
sorry ladybug buried your question in math... also thanks :oD monkeyed it though
um ok/
4 left to go!
then you'd really enjoy it when they're imaginary Kap!
hi there lady
Irrational numbers?
and yes.. imaginary numbers are useful.
Are they emotional?
hey var???
yes brid?
you close to done? maybe thinking about, *ahem*, switching venues?
am about to go tangle .....
sweet!
what is tangle?
are you coming soon>
math and I do not get along. I have a diagnosable math anxiety since I was about 9.
ok, i'll see ya there.
yes, got 2 left
looking for tu6
i'm already there.
and ta6
oooh ok
Oh, I see people in the chat log are speaking in a foreign language...mathematics. : D
told nsl i'd be there like 10 min ago
Switching venues? Was that a proposition? I was told we don't do that sort of thing here.
oooooooops
what is tangle?
1 left
oh, so i should help get you there faster.
i still can't get the da 4/7
that would be a good idea ;)
speaking of "imaginary", my vmail message is awesome... "Sorry, you may have called an imaaaaginary number. Please rotate your phone pi over two radian and try again. "If you believe you are not in the complex plane, please leave your name, date and message and we'll try to reroute it to the proper co-ordinates." :oD
another word game lady
the ta6 is an extentsion of the ta4/5 before it. like, the full proper all out word.
fireworkds
da opp of stop.
ut actualyl it's not called tangleword anymore, only most of us who are there used to be at iwin playign tangleword
i wanna play tangle
sweet! you are a true geek!
go to www.cobradragon.com... or somethign like that... if not right lady, gogle serpentine + cobra dragon games
what was tangle?
we will be in the 30 sec room ;)
tx brid, got the ta
i still need help with the DA 4/7 first one - can't get it
the tu6/24 is weird. tu+ the opposite of gentleman -screw up how you spell the final vowel
XoD I think I'm going to have to list for the last four words, this grid is driving me more crazy than I already am...
have you seen my clue? d + a long time ***, i used to go to that school
i did see your clue but it didn't help me
nm
i got it
cool
Did you see my clue?
i remember using imaginary numbers when calculating phase angles in an EE class.
any1 got tu6?? can't find it
tu6 is a Canadian name for a type of fish(es).
tu and Prince Charles' first wife... in condensed form
i clued it var. a couple minutes ago. it didn't help?
didn't see the clue brid
but just monkeyed it ;)
tx!
ok, on my way
bye every1!! gl with this grid
I'm listing >.>
go dfm!!!
I'll just sit here watching my fireworks.... ooohhhh pretty.....
I want fireworks :o(
how many left dfm?
ho6
that was one of my last words.. my penultimate. sounds like someone yelled
I have so many words left to find. D:
got it, thanks m9 ^.^ fireworks! Rotated arcsin(1)!
Why more math terms? D:
whoot!
is your teacher still not there?
are you at college?
She's making us write stuff down from the board but I already got it. And yeah, I'm a freshman. :)
what is the board writing about??
<<<so curious
Lol it's fine. xD
Elina just attempted a 7 foot on DDR.
Who's Elina? o.O
the house was shakin!LOL one of my daughters
Oooh.
wait, you're a freshman and they're not teaching you about Banach algebras yet? :oO
...No?
give it UP dfm!
LOL
Not that I can remember, anyway.
it's precalc.. they MAY do matrices...LOL
We did do matrices!
howdy, all - any clues for the bottom left lone L? 72 words in and I still need that for nbt. (no list yet)
li5.. ends with wman's group having to do with american war.
matrices... in CALC? o.0
I have a question, and it's gonna sound really stupid, probably, but what does "NBT" stand for?
Matrices are an algebra thing...
cg don't worry, I didn't know either ;o) No Blank Tiles
yeah.. that's what they do in PRE calc...
Oooooh
and the quad formula
good morning all :)
they may even do some trig!
The quad formula is stupid. I hated learning it so much. D:
thanks so much, m9 - I was so close, tried it as the first 4 letters - yay, now I can go off to work.
eww, quadratic formula :o(
<-- <3 pmath, not amath! Proofs > theorems >> calculations!
yw
Proofs are really annoying. :|
nuh uh, proofs are awesome... and beautiful...
D:
now here is a good idea! http://www.gearfuse.com/laser-crosswal k-saves-pedestrians-from-a-painful-dea th/
anyone have a clue for the at 6?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvXgFLV 2gOk
at6/18 (cryptic:) Spear thrower doubles Aztec god tail (6)
certainly cryptic to me!
I love when we have a short math class.
*more like foreign language
Weekend, here I come. :D
It's an insane word Nan.
brb while going home
I figured that -- it is one of my last 3
Words that end in two consonants always elude me.
nan don't know how to do cryptic crosswords? Do:
hello all back for 25
I have no idea of any aztec gods never mind the tail!
probably means the aztec god is at the end of the word, but don't know anything about the aztecs
i think dfm was speaking chinese!!
would someone please clue the at 6 in english!
you have it backward ;o) cryptic read: definition = "spear thrower" description = "double" "Aztec god" "tail" > ending of an Aztec god should be doubled
the well known aztec god que....

ha! not that i would be able to answer it! i am one of those who remembers the words but not necessarily the defs
and there is a pic of one in my flickr PB :)
oh my! i have never looked at this before! how clever
It is a stringed instrument. I almost fell off my chair when I heard the question (sad I know).
this grid has too many a's and not enough e's
I bet you can recognise lots of references and perhaps some of the faces too.
well stid's pretty obvious :)

So I shall wish you all adieu and Happy Babbling and see you on the morrow.

Hello everybody. Last time I was here, there was nobody aboard. Talk about the Marie Celeste.... anybody here now?
i am still here - still struggling on
any clues for the last ca - ca 6/27 please
Hello (((Kaz)))
hi Soodle how are things with you
Good thanks, Kaz. I am frantically trying to think of a clue for CA 6/27..... bear with me...
beCA*se it's a har* word to clue + mr. gore
CA plus not me but (shortened version of you) plus the ***ai Lami is a religeous figure...
Hellow LBD.
descriptive of a tail perhaps?
must go figure out what to have for supper. bbl Hi/bye soodle
Hellow??? Don't know where that rogue W came from!
yes, kaz
thanks - got it now
down to 26
You watching Children In Need, Kaz?
yeap - news readers are on doing lady gaga
we do lots for it in work and i won a huge jar of raspberry ruffles
Terrific production! I loved the Coronation Street/Eastenders bit.
would someone do me a favor?
that was really good -
whats the jm
Hello JMC. How can we help?
oops sorry for sounding rude - how can we help
try the link in my icon and see if you can see my lovely outfits
lol that was funny kazz
the jm is feeling really full of herself tonight
did it work?
*starts biting nails*
I like the black and white top but try it with the pink jacket - i really like the checkie jacket on the last photo though
*nails all gone starts pulling hair out*
YYYYYAAAAAAYYYYYYY!
where are you going to where them
i am wearing them to a job interview with quakers
Jmc, I just looked I like outfit A or C
I tried, JMC, but its telling me my computer off line (which clearly it is not, as I am communicating with you...)... but then, it could be an issue with my ISP.
i really like the last jacket too but it has gold threads and i fear quaker gray backlash
oo soodle sorry
Hello again...wandered off...
I am not sure what you mean by that...
ty ty for all the feed back
that the gold threads may be viewed as too fancy
the black and white top looks more business like, so matbe that one with the black jacket - however, I had to copy your link into a new tab as it didnt show as being in flickr
hi jell you should be able to see my outfits now
well, actually, I really liked B better and A anyway. My bad...
i am still struggling with flickr but you should be able to search flicker under people (jmcnrick) and find them
I like A and B, but I'm conservative...
*checks to see if it is jell talking*
ty ty this is all useful information
going back to my microbiology homework now...
I am particularly fond of G and have it on today for my meeting with *ahem* white house staff
I am, when it comes to interview attire...
bye phand thanks for the help
well do you think the gold threads in A are too much?
Bah! I wish I could contribute to this.... I am dying to see the pics. Wretched internet connection......
Looking again...
i am sorry soodle send me an email and i could email the pics i think
all I see are nude photos of JMC.. what's that about?
jmc - medickinson@eircom.net...
lol ru you need to adjust your xray vision again
okay soodle brb
<--- mr. airport scanner
I don't think the gold's too much, but I'm not Quaker...
well i am sending the pics to quakers as well
I think the tassles are great
to bad it is not a video so you can see how well i can twirl them
soodle i just emailed A, B and G since didn't know how big an email you could take
I vote for outfit A! I love that jacket!
ty molly A is getting a lot of support
I spent about 5 years worth of my normal amount of money for clothing in one night
The gold represents your shiny, wonderful self. I love it.
what a sweet thing to say molly
It's true. I think the more effervescent our clothing is, the more our true self shines. Which is why I have a lot of "sparkly" tops and shoes. I love sparkly.
soodle?
soodle i must run off and right some emails for work so i will check back in later to see if you got the email, saw the outfits and have a comment
AARRGHHH I must WRITE some emails *walks out of the chog muttering to self*
Later, jmc...
Hi Jellen, how is life for you these days?
i am still here trying to finish this grid before its time for bed
Hi Kazz
well, good riddance to this nasty piece of work -- fizzly fireworks
at 6 please?
hi all
hi jilli.. congrats
at 6 is evil. at + longitude and ***itude + I hope you *ike this clue
yikes
how did you find that?
thank you for that one
Late yay for jilli!!!
sorry folks must go to bed - its 2336 here and i have had a long old day - see you tomorrow
Oh, sorry Molly...Life is good!
Two emails down and one to go -- have to ask: How was the date Jell?
It was great...had a lot of fun...
what date?
I went on a date with a friend on Monday...He's a professional drummer and had a gig about 2 hours from here...
Wow Jellen, you're dating?
Yes, I've just started...
My goal is to find people to do things with...
wow Jellen.. you are one very, very strong person.. good for you
Thanks, ruru
*gives last rites to chat*
I killed it...
Can you do time for that?
what would the sentence be for killing a chat?
jmc -- you still here? I vote for Outfit A, then Outfit C. Love that A jacket as do all the other babblers.
I go with outfit F
Yes, I like that black and wite blouse, but the grey doesn't do much for it.
*white
But for a job interview...Outfit G or B
cul8r...
Bye, jilli
hey all
taking a few minutes to rest again.
seems like the days I think are going to be easy are the draining ones
Hi, stid
hey jellen, thought I was the only one here! LOL
stumped by the lower L -- any help?
li + the ***k Knight (Batman movie)
ah! thanks!
that's NBT
any help for the M for NBT? I would be greateful.
wd, stid!
*grateful
mu + Are you *a**ose intolerant (can't have dairy)?
Wow, this grid is full of odd words. Thanks Jellen!
hey rose
Hello stid. How are you?
not bad, rose. tired, but okay.
yourself?
Hi Everybody. How are you all tonight?
winding down after a long week. Its raining, so I've got a good excuse to curl up on the couch with tea and the grid.
Hi everyone. I have been checking jmc's outfits. I think I am no help. My favourites are A, C or H
mmm. tea.
hey nef! hi bugs!
herb tea.
tea sounds really really good
can't do black tea after noon any more. not if i want to sleep.
make some for me
I love a cup of tea while looking for words
english breakfast please
jmc!!! ((hugs)) I like A a lot.
good to know stiddie
Tea does sound good. I just found jmc's fashion show. I, too, like A,C and H
bringing the water to a boil. Lots so there's some for everyone. a biiiig pot!
I also like the blue in J
I guess I am going to have to read the days archives to count the votes
*holds out dainty teacup*
my only worry with A is that it may be too sparkly
*holds out huge cup*
can't believe i am still at the office :-(
why still at office?
One you in bright colors, jmc; but maybe if you had you hair and make-up on it makes a difference in what colors work best for you
hello hello hello
Just took a look jmc. IMHO definitely H or B for an interview. Good luck!
I had a meeting that included *ahem* white house staff that took all morning, then met with a student, then went to the mall for a video shot for the history channell then came back to office to write 4 emails that each took about 1/2 hours
make-up?
oh, MAN! My spelling and grammar suck tonight! I've been up since 4 AM; it shows!
B is good but colour on your face is a good suggestion too.
yeah I like the blouse in H and wore it to weddings last weekend
well, jmc; a little color (lipstick or blush?) for an interview?
rofl -- jmc have you worn makeup in the last 20 years?
I will probably put on mascara and eyebrows
lipstick and blush. The 12 year old girls at makeup counters give good advice to us old hippies who need some colour but not much
And B is good too; but it does need a little color (IMHO)
at halloween mostly stiddie
i could wear a lapis necklace with B
i do sometimes wear it to court or to some parties
i wear makeup in court and at parties i mean
then do for the interview too!
i was planning on mascara and eyebrows
oh~ then yes, for an interview, a bit is a good idea. BUT -- not the halloween stuff!
my boys used to make fun of me for having eyebrows only when i went to court or a party
*puts the fake blood back in the drawer*
I wear makeup very rarely too; but when I do I've been told I "clean up well" (which is a compliment I guesss)
I have to do eyebrows everyday but never wear mascara
fortunately for my current job i get to wear jeans and t-shirts
okay I am heading home. The GIs will have to solve their own problems for a while.
What is this job you are interviewing for, jmc?
I will be back as soon as I get home and fix something to eat--wish I had some left over jerk chicken from lunch
head of a national quaker organization
well, down to 41 and as much as I would love to stay and visit, I am exhausted. And mystified why my DH is not home yet.
see you-all again soon! (((Hugs and hugs)))
I am trying to show them I "clean up well" too.
bye bbl *poof*
Stid, if you can take a nap or rest a few minutes; please do so
yes ma'am, nef! ((hugs)) *poof*
How is life treating you and your husband lately Nef?
I'm exhausted lately, bugs; but DH is a walking miracle! He's out of the wheel chair and using a cane again; eyesight is better than 2 prescriptions ago, speech is clear and he's doing great (still has some memory problems, but Hey!
(((Nef))) & (((Nef's Husband))). I love to hear about walking miracles.
au-5/12 ?
clue please
al 5/10?
pertaining to the ear....I believe...
Such good news Nef. I am so happy to hear he is doing better again!
sammysmom, I don't have it but will look

thanks car
Hi all - back again...
Hello.
Hello cgw. Welcome to Babble.
Thanks. :)
Have you got the hang of the game?
For the most part, yeah. People have been helping me get the hang of it all day. :)
Although this board is really hard. D:
tu 6 please?
Aww my christmas tree is purty! I will have to upload a pic :)
Oh, thats great. Babblers are good people! I finished the grid a couple of hours ago, so i am happy to clue...
a bit early for that, cos?
nah.. everyone in town is doing it...
Lol well I have 66 words left, so I need plenty of clues. xD
ive always put it up the week b4 thanksgiving
Aw, I wish I had my christmas tree up already. :(
i would probably leave it up all year if the hubby let me ;)
*bangs head on desk* ar5/12?
Carlee.... tu plus opposite of lass, plus shortened version of Prince Charles wife Lady **ina
TY soodle!
Thanks, Soodle, I needed that one, too.
Sorry, my grandson just got here. BBL!
Bye. :)
Oooh. So glad you got it. I am always nervous clueing, in case I
hic am too cryptic
Nah, it was a good clue. xD
Does anyone have a clue for ar5?
Does ra 5 build off the ra 4 before it?
Sorry...make that the RA 5/22....
Off to bed now. Good night all. Poof
yes car
Night. :)
TY Jess
ar 5/12 pleaaaase
Oh Cos! I don't have it yet! Sorry!
aw ty anyway :)
does anyone have anymore of the sixes? I have at, ha, ta, and tu. :|
ar5 ar + united states of am*ri**
thankie! :)
tr6/21 builds on the tr5/12
ca6/27
thanks
da 4/7??... i have the slang of italian
A mild swear...Oh DA** it! I dropped my ice cream!
yw
got it. thanks
at6?
It's a weird word having to do with throwing spears. Though I know that's not a very good hint. :(
at 6 ends in 2 consonants
like an aztec word
uhmmm lemme see
Is it aztec? I thought it was australian? D:
at + fa-sol-_ _ + 2 consonants
or u could say.. the abbreviation of the capitol of georgia twice :)
Meh, that clue would be too obvious. xD
BEAUTIFIL!!!
ty for ur help!
cgw...obvious clues are welcome lol
Lol yeah, I know. I just never noticed it was just that. xD
lol :)
I just started playing yesterday, you'll have to forgive my noobishness.
welcome to the babble family cgw.. i joined in september and have been here every single day
when you can.. go pro.. its worth the 14 dollars!
It's really fun. I'll definitely be on here as often as possible. :D
b/c i think in two weeks you wont be able to know how many words are in the grid
unless u go pro
What? D:
But will I still be able to see everything else? D:
yes
Hm...
u can just ask the chog how many words are in the grid and someoen whos pro will be able to let u know
a lot of people do that
hang out a while before you decide, cgw. most of us decide the $ is worth it, but some stay on the free version.
but..... since we all get so much pleasure from this game and it costs so little compared to other things you do for entertainment, most of us think Dr. G-d deserves his $$
Yeah, I'll probably do that. :)
yes id do what leslie said
True. This is a pretty rad game.
and hello
don't the tile stats disappear too? I've been here so long I forget!
im not sure if you can get babble expert software if ur pro or not?
yes thats it too jess
the title stats go away too
but you have a two week period to decide
you have to be expert for babble pro
You have to be expert? What's that mean?
or you have to be pro for babble expert
and you also can't be on a mac! :-(
its a software.. which puts both the grid and the lickety clues together
Ooooh
its pretty nice.. i dont have to switch websites...
and with babble expert i can finish the grid in less than half the time otherwise.... amazing! but, alas, i have a mac
Sounds pretty nice.
i have a mac and a pc
clue please for ho 6/24?
I haven't been able to finish today's grid and I couldn't finish yesterday's either. I'm pretty bad at this. xD
ho + unhealthy fat
TY Dorens!
takes time cg... a lot of these words are absurd!
my first two grids i was not able to finish.. but since then ive finsihed every one except one and that was the 490 one on election day lol
lots of people rarely finish... fun is in the hunt.
Yeah, they are. I found at least 20 of these words just by putting in random letters. xD
thas the way to do it cgw!
it's called "monkeying," cgw. as in, a thousand monkeys typing on a thousand typewriters will eventually write the works of shakespeare... or get all the babble words
a fish is when someone clues u a word that is pretty obvious in the grid
Oooh is THAT what monkeying means. Someone told me to do that and I didn't get what they meant. xD
we have our own jargon ;)
Yeah, man, it's like your own language. xD
and when all else fails..go to www.morewords.com
Yeah I was using that earlier!
To try and find...a cu word I think.
cu6, maybe?
lol yeah i have it bookmarked
Lol it was really handy.
took me a while to learn about morewords... and it really is a lifesaver, when all else fails
clue for the ca6/27?
sorry cosdem do not have that yet
blah ill come back to it :)
Me neither. :(
c + **l* land syne + short for Albert
ty car
just listed and it sure is making this go fasster
clue please for ga 5/24?
D: That clue, for some reason, just made me more confused. What's the definition?
lol me too cgw
xD
I know it is one of the fins of a shark....
ok ok its on the tip of my fingers now..
fins of a shark...hm...google, here I come. xD
The fin near the tail end
Yay!
Thanks for the massive amount of hints for that word. xD
can someone help me then lol i cant find it on google
google "the names of shark fins"
You'll be able to find a diagram and it's one of the tail fins or near the tail.
the tail is known as the ****** appendage maybe that will help
ahh ok got it
i had to go to google images
Well, at least you got it. :D
what a pain lol
hello diane
hiya cos :-)
Does the CA 8 build off the CA 4 right before it?
hi everyone
Nice meeting you, Diane. :)
no
wait
yes it does
Lol yeah, it does.
nice to meet you too, cgw* :-)
:D

diane i cam up with the most amazing clue for the at6 lol
thanks cos for the ca8
Good grief! TY!

the abbreviation of the capitol of georgia.. twice
? ca 5?
That is such a good hint. D:
in the words of car.eeyore.... good grief... great and clear clue !!
Sorry....? CR 5...?
silly word lol
i need the cr 5 too
Yeah, same
sometimes we don't look for the long compound words
lol yes diane.
cr 5 sounds like a swimming stroke
Ty Diane! Would not have gotten that one!
does anyone know the singer Diana K**** ? canadian.... it's like her name
hmm
yw car...
jazz genre
Can I get a better hint, please? I can't think of swimming strokes. D:

The double vowel think helped a ton.

Picasso work + Mr. Gore
TY!
oh by the way cgw.. the grid does accept naughty words lol
Does it really?
yup
the sh*t word for example
and MUCH worse!
thanks Jess :-)
Dude, that's kind of funny. Don't games like this usually not accept words like that?
yw diane
I know that text twist doesn't :-)
wwhats funny is i have text twist 2 on my cell phone and it wont even accept "ass" or "oral" lol
And thanks, Jess.
haha diane
I need 1 more word and it is driving nuts.
Oral? It won't accept ORAL?
no problem cgw :)
LOL
What's it start with, car?
nope but it will accept orals
Dude...what's the difference between oral and orals??? :|
oral sex...
lol
Yeah, I know, but come one.
on*
I play Super TT too, I bought the program about 4 years ago... however, can't get it onto my new computer, and I have my registration # ... must try again.
it wont accept damn either
I bought it from Gamehouse, and they've changed their name
frustrates me
That c on the left is seriously bothering me. D:<
me too, diane .. and games from playsite, too
clue for the M
my highest score on TT was 30 million, but I rounded it off and quit... was getting a darn sore butt
lol diane.. i play TT on my cell in bed for 1/2 a hour then go to sleep
The M word has only one vowel.
sounds like mu5, what you put on your garden plants to protect them from the heat .. diff last consonant
both Gamehouse and Grab used to have great chat rooms, but they discontinued that feature..... left a lot of us scrambling to keep in touch. Many of us are on Facebook now for that reason
Got it! Fireworks! GA 5/24...how could I miss that one!?!?!?
i will have to find you on facebook then
it's a great word game cos, and really makes the brain go in all directions
don't bogart that joint...

i'm not there much ... I have that same problem with scramble on fb
i've met a couple of folks from tangle, still keep in touch with one (and dori)

Haha, well, I think I got the farthest I'm gonna get today. See all of you tomorrow I hope. :)

(I did yesterday and Babble needed to remind me that "ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg..." is not a word. I think it was two hours' worth of my finger on the button, and for some reason I decided that "enter" was more apt to clearing the box than "delete"...
lol

So i just watched a clip of Oprah's favorite things and the crowd went hysterical..rolling in aisles screaming crying
bowing down to her
Oprah gave her audience the following..
a Nikon camera, Jay-Z's new book "Decoded", a five-year subscription to Netflix, Lululemon athletic pants, Baker's Edge baking pans, Ghirardelli brownie mix, a limited edition Philip Stein watch with 58 handset diamonds which retails for $2,475 (named the "Oprah" watch by the creator), a Breville panini press, the new Black-Eyed Peas CD, "A Course in Weight Loss" by Marianne Williamson, Beecher's World's Best Mac & Cheese, A Feu De Bois Candle set, and the grand finale, and a seven-day cruise on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas, which includes a 3D-movie theater at sea, ice skating rink and two-story dance floor, which includes round-trip flights to get the audience TO the boat.
