when I pass you dart.. I am never looking back
isn't it coming up to new year's resolution time again? :)
I'll probably have to wait for your next vacation.
my new year's resolution is to get ahead of you..lol
that dumb new years thing is what screwed me up
i am little more than a year away from a successful new year's resolution from last january
ruru failed his miserably!!
I did.. I missed all of you
<--- addicted
however i have several more family engagements before year's end so it is not exactly smooth sailing from here on out
we're glad you did ruru...but you could just come here and chat...don't have to find words you know!!
you first, dart
what was your resolution josh?
my resolution was to not participate in any political discussions for one year
good one.. I should do that one too
little more than a month away from completion, i should say
elections are over...except here in minnesota...should be easier now
i have learned a lot this year by avoiding them, i must admit
what was your resolution, ruru? o.0
grateful that all the political commercials are over
to give up babble for the day to day thing
I think I lasted a week
that's a terrible, horrible resolution... why would you do that to yourself?!
dunno... I was spending too much time here
now I finish and mostly go on with my day
okay.. good night all you kings of maine

hi kimm... I don't think those are spoilers for anyone!LOL
prolly not. I just started.
I'm only doing ok because I'm reading the chog archive!LOL
what's that?
up above this box I'm writing in it says : chatterbox, who's online, my friends, and then there's two icons... the second is the chat log archive for this grid.
I look at that to see what stats have been called.
oh! good idea. is Lickety up?
yes.
but I don't use the list until after I have nbt, nbs and 1/2way..LOL
I have 2 of those.. but no nbt. a couple of tiles are really stumping me!
nbt!
Morning all how many words today please
100
Thanks
yw
Not a bad grid. The only words I had trouble with were the ones I could not find right away.
But once you found them, did you stop looking?
Good morning/evening all.
Yes, I have tried to be more disciplined. Good day, Haz.
Hello, BabbleRabble. You're very wise. I enjoyed the joke in your profile.
Do you have much snow there, Haz?
About 2 inches, which isn't a lot really, but there's more to come.
Unsalted roads are pretty treacherous.
The news says record snowfalls in some areas of GB
It's unusually cold for this time of year.
None here yet I am pleased to say
Yes, I think the mainland and especially Scotland have been badly affected.
Expecting blizzard conditions today. Might need a jacket/
Hello, sandra - are you a bit further south? It seems to be the north that's faring badly.
On the London/ Essex border
Blizzard sounds nasty. Keep a scarf to hand as well.
I think you'll be okay, sandra, according to the forecast maps I saw last night.
I must go. Be well and safe.
And you, BabbleRabble. Can I offer you a couple of e letters? They'e seriously getting in the way of me making words.
that's it....I'm getting frustrated.....need a clue for the 8????plz
Hello, Ishult. Do you know what it starts with?
no
found 4x 7's so far
mo, tr & 2x we 7's
If you scroll back in chat you might find a reference to it from the calls at flip.
no idea about the rest!!!???
I looked in the list. tr8 - plural for a period of three years.
Think of the plural end for the word meaning a thousand years and stick a 'three' prefix in front.
got the 8 ty
You're welcome.
just found ae7....just one more 7.......
100 - no more, no less. Hello Haz and Ishult
Hello, lynxxx.
hey Lynxxx
Did you have the no7 - the one named?
didn't have that one.....do now ty
You're welcome.

Congrats Ishult!
good morning. What a tiny grid for a Monday!
hi Ruby
{{lynxx}}
congrats, ishult, I should be so lucky.....
Good morning everyone.
good morning sally!
hi Sally
A nice sized grid! How is it so far.
not game to comment
very quick 29 and now I'm looking at all those vowels! Feel like old mac donald!
Two squares greyed already! (top left A and Y!)
not me!
I only greyed the q~
There's a q? Have only just started.
Q greyed :-)
there's a y? you're kidding me
:-)
monkeyed the y, phew!
It's a fairly common babblet, ruby. One to add to your list.
now monkeying the a; all of mine come from the second column!
Do you want the second letter?
monkey found it; he's lolling around with a banana
or he's monkeying around with the banana
Perhaps you've overfed him and he doesn't really want the banana?
would be typical of me, spoiling my animals!
Is it an organic freetrade banana? Perhaps he's a monkey with ethics.
Not freetrade. Fairtrade.
and shy, to boot!
left column greyed, yay, small accomplishment
Still need ne R from there
ra4.6 or ra4.4 (last one all vowels)
ra4 and re4? no, 2 re 4's
No, from there they are both re words. Have them both now, plus the top R.
ty lynxx, got the ra4/6 from the letter count
got the all vowels one, too. ty ty
only 55 words to go! hahah
nine
whoops, sorry
Oh, I thought you had instantaneously got 46 words.
Smug. Just got three ae words.
and I always try inee which I thought was a Sou American dart poison! NOT
Have you got the eskimo boat yet? One we have had before.
nope, don't remember. I must be getting old (haha, already got old!)
Do you want the stats?
pls, sweet sally
oo 6/24
ooh, just found a nice an6 on my own. *chuffed*
Think the version I have seen before is spelt with a different final letter which sounds the same. (Clue but I hope not too much of a giveaway)
ty, this time, I'm writing it down
one more for half (another tiny milestone)
too tired for this - night Ruby & Sally
When is eye appointment ruby? Is it tomorrow or has the weather delayed that?
Night lynxxx! Sleep well.
he has canceled it and I am very relieved!
sweet dreams, lynxx!
Good. Sometimes bad weather plays in our favour!
now it's set for 1 Feb, but the horse might learn to talk by then
got my half, now I'll fix thumper his apero!
see you later (he's in a black mood even tho the sun is shining!0
I don't know that expression. Meaning it's unlikely, you think it will be delayed again?
Bye ruby.
I will send you a joke via e-mail. It's too long for the chat
*poof*
I'll look forward to it - she says to en empty space.
morning sally
Hi Eva! Thought everyone had gone.
just got here a little while ago.
Well I dashed off just after ruby left because we had an sudden visitor, to come back to an empty chog!
still pitch black here, but Venus is huge in the sky!
Is it 5 in the morning there?
6
11 am here.
33 left and boggled by the eeeeee's
26 left here, have all the eeeees if you need any clues.
Actually not so many E words if you look carefully!
ooh, just found the no7-nice word
Don't have that yet, concentrating on the Ms.
the n is an election word
ty, got it straight away!
yw
okay-I give-I haven't been able to find any ee's except the one smack in the middle
needlecase from the right
but no u?
ee spooky from bottom one
alternative spelling Eva
ah-never saw that before, thanks!
have a spooky one from the middle, with the alt vowel.Thought I'd tried all the other spooks?
And gives you another word from the end.
not getting that Sally, sorry for my denseness
sorry, if you have the needlecase, drop the first letter to give you another word.
have that-thanks
OK, it was the needlecase that alerted me to that possibility!
then there's an em 4/6
of course! Thanks again
I keep trying for ermine or emetic
close :-)
have the close one
I could do with the ermine in this weather.
I'm going to leave the ee's for a while and come back with fresh eyes
or a buffalo skin. It really and truly is winter, isn't it? In a month this will seem downright balmy.
take care and thanks for all the help. Time to go and stoke the fire.
Keep warm.
And I'm done, and off. Bye to all lurkers.
hi
hello babble friends and POUNCE on my lovely herin!!
Morning all. Did anyone else have trouble with this site last night?
Morning Molly, what problems were you having?
Good morning everyone!
Hi car.e
Morning Trif!
My browser crashed, and this is the only site I was logged into.
Oh dear, haven't heard anyone else saying that but the site has been very quiet today.
Up and running here Molly.
Ah well, it's all good today.
I wish the words would flow a little easier from the grid today.
Hooray! My Hawaiian Goose is back!
I knew you would be happy Car EE
AN 5/10 2 days in a row! Wow.
and the i sp of it too
Is it only two days?
TY FM!
2 or 3 I think Molly.
got the an5, thanks and hello everyonce
However, I am a little uneasy about all of these vowels...
*everyone* lol
I know, a lot of vowels makes me shudder. Heya Annie!!
Hi Molly
Good morning Annie!
Greetings Annie!
Oy! 13 vowels out of 25 tiles!
greeting, FM and car.....did you get lots of snow, FM?
So far it has avoided me Annie but parts of the north have had an awful lot.
FM, Let's hope it ignores all winter
It has just been incredibly cold here not getting above freezing durning the day for the last 3 days.
When I say incredibly cold obviously not by US standards that is :)
Oh brrrrr! *Passing hot chocolate to FM*
oh lovely thanks Molly.
Yes, the Midwest gets incredibly cold. Molly is so nice and caring.
BBL! Have a great day everyone
bye car.
Bye car.e
Annie are you all mended now?
FM, Yes, all mended. Thanks
thatmust be such a relief!
FM, I can sit now. The Saga of Annie's Butt has a happy ending.
LOL
G'mornin', fellow Babbleonians.
Morning gramma.
hi gramma
Lennon is in the grid
A cow may be a mooer but I have got to stop trying it in the grid.
As is Monet Annie.
Of course I had to try it also
*grin*
Must go and make some lunch bbl.

Annie's butt is sagging? Welcome to my world.

Good morning everyone!!!
Happy Monday, all!
Good morning, ((Mom))
hi mside
((Annie)) good morning!
Hi Mside
((Mom))) do you still have turkey leftovers?
oh how I wish I did Annie. Sent it home with the boys.
how about you?
We finished it all on Sunday.
I meant Friday.
love leftover Turkey dinner but it gives the boys a meal or two
I love turkey sandwiches with cranberry sauce.
These vowels are making me batty.
no one like Cranberry sauce here
haven't bought it since Grandma passed, she was the only one to eat it
We grate orange zest into the cranberry sauce..very good.
that sounds like it might make it taste better
:)
the boys came last night and decorated the tree and the candles are in the windows.
Mom, Lovely.
But, **sigh**, realized last night I didn't buy Christmas cards :-(
they do such a nice job decorating it. I will have to take a picture and use it as my icon
Mom, It is still early for cards. Yes, please take a picture of the tree and show us.
I usually buy them after Christmas but I didn't last year
I will do that, Annie
Hello! :)
moonie is too a word
Hi cgw8
hello cg
and FM was trying mooer
lol
I see it's a fairly small grid, today.
but I added a R to it and that got me a word
Mom, add a consonant to your moonie
snap Annie
you did already
I would think mooer would be a word
I cant see that ac 5
Mooer sounds like a good word to me...cows are mooers
I don't have it Annie, but will help you look
drat, phone
ac5/12 a berry, part of a cluster
morning all :o)
Morning. :)
well hello dfmchfhf, you have an icon!
a rubik cube!
I can never beat those things. :|
3
me either cgw8
Hooray! dmf is a real boy!
3? you only have 3 left?
I'm forever stuck at the barely-sub-minute mark... fingers just aren't fast enough! :o(
There was a girl at my school who could beat those things in a flash. It was crazy. D:
the 3 was me... doing what I always do... dropping the keyboard... -.-
lol dfm
Haha, nice.
time to go monkey my last n5!
good luck dfm
I agree about it being too early for cards. Not too early to start addressing them, if you have lots to send. But too early to send.
Any hint for the y? :|
Nevermind
Monkeyed it. :)
HI Molly
I usually send mine out on the 6th of December, St. Nick day
but that ain't happen' this year
:-)
Why not?
because I haven't even bought them yet
Oh, lol. xD
yup, I guess I will go out today
Sweetie is about to get up on the roof and check the gutters; I had better go out and keep an eye on him. ((Hugs)) to all of you.
you'll have a week to send them out if you buy them today!
Lol good luck.
hope neither of you are acro- or vertigo- phobic ;o)
true, dfm, but I have a full week of stuff to do this week. But they will go out just a little late by my schedule
he isn't, he is an elevator mechanic, but I am
I just go and make sure I can call 911 if he falls. lol
be back in a bit
xD
Can anyone give me a hint for the left r? :|
re4---not front
Yeah, and the other one? D:
Good ole Mom. So many people don't even bother with Christmas cards anymore and our Mom is concerned that hers will be late. (((Mom)))
re4/4 horse thingy
re4 - Rudolph's harness
Ooooh, thanks. xD
Annie!!! "Horse thingy"!! That is my kind of clue.
LOL. Not too obscure.
Ha, I was trying to think of a horse-like creature until I saw mside's clue. xD
Then I should have said "horse's thingy".
xD
I can't believe there's 14 w words. :o
I hope to get 2 more W's then I am done with them.
yay, fireworks! ^.^
congrats dfm!!
dfm, can you clue the first ne 5/18?
ooh, I like that word :o) ne5/18 the central column of a winding staircase
oooh, thanks
clue for in5
matches, weepy veggie
in5/10 backmost part of your skull
sing. of in4/4

weird, dictionary.com doesn't list the pl. :o/
Dude, I just spent the longest time trying to figure out that word, but I already had it. D:
Any hints on the bottom n? :|

Back to finish my last few words
hey, fm!
TO! Hello, did I read you had a car incident?
yes, fm :(
Oh bum, are you OK and hope not too much damage to the car?
hi FM, TO :o)
Hi dfm
well car is driveable and pain in back will hopefully subside
(((TO)))
howdy everyone;))
ty, unlike pain in ass from this grid
hi crossy :o)
hey crossy

Nice to see yr pro status dfm.
ho ho {{TO}}
hello crossy

hi mr. pro dfm!!!
hi crossy
hi ruby
howdy trentsnana
hi trents :o)
hello nana
hi there, dfm - you sure are looking spiffy
making husband eat leftovers one more time!
hey ruby
There are way too many proper nouns in today - can't wait for hurshy to come on. Hi ruby and trens
Hi everyone. :)
don't blame you, ruby
And I still don't know who to thank!
hey fm
i bought a rubics cube in the 80,s,played with it for a week and buried it in the back yard..the dogs would not even dig it up!

howdy cgw
cgw how much closer to finishing? ;o)
isn't a ra**e (5) an old-time sideshow show? risque?
mmm,100 words eh? that means i will get 50 before i start trying to send dr g a computer virus;)
Good morning/afternoon all.
howdy haz
hi haz! :o)
Greetings Haz!
hi haz!
hello haz
Hi haz. :D
Hello! It was very quiet for a while back then, everyone seems to have arrived at once.
52 and see you later
Didn't you hear the coach arrive Haz?
heaven forbid we have quiete in here
or even quiet
Log has been unusually quiet today.
Hint for te6/18? D:
te6/18 pl. te5/10
No, you must all have sneaked in. I must read back in the log now to see what and who I've missed.
add a vowel to the end of the te5/10
see i have been hanging with you brits for too long, i am now putting extra vowels into words instead of proper english. :P
We all arrived in the last 5 mins.
It's a latin plural, cgw, add a vowel to the te5 preceding.
Thanks. :)
except cgw and I, we were falling asleep here waiting for people to arrive ;o)
xP
Oh good! We're having a beneficial influence on you, TO.
:D
lol TO but we know you love us none the less.
Proper English = Brit English, not that US version.
indeed.
Yeah, I don't speak english. I speak American. xD
TO, living with a Canadian I caught myself trying to add u's where they don't belong and almost using "cheque" for "check".
isn't US english a "collection of misspellings and mistakes often mistaken for language"? ;oP (I forgot where that came from...)
LOLOL that's a perfect description.
hi molly. heaven knows what passes for english up there ;)
but cheque and check are different things! Do:
The good thing is that both versions are accepted by enable (providing the word is there) but it takes discipline to look for odor or theater when they look WRONG.
or color
When I write you a check, I use check. If my husband had written you a check, he would use cheque.
or analyze.
actually that looks OK, argh I am being ascimilated!
Oh yeah, the s vs. z thing.
i am so glad to be home today so we can have a nice visit. i am thkinking this grid is deceptively small.
Why can I still not get it?????
But it would be confusing if you had to check a chequered cheque by appending a checkmark, in American!
It's chock full of babblets, TO.
actuasly for us if you check, you check to see little billy has not fallen out of the crib, while you were writing a cheque for the gas company
Or if you had to stick a cheque through a spelling checker...
yes, just got that angolan currency
cgw, you're maybe not adding the correct vowel. Number after nine, then first three vowels but not in order.
Ah, got it.
Excellent!
xD Thanks Haz
think i shall have a pop and write a cheque to the theatre company before i go to the arbouredum :)
cgw learn your pluralisations! ;oP a => ae (Latin) ion => ia (Greek) um => a (Latin) is => es (Latin and Greek)
Ah yes the 100th part of a kwanza - my favourite currency on the IMF.
crossy: please tell me that last is a misspelling o.0
Ah, that's very helpful, thanks dfm. I know I should've taken latin in high school. :|
You've forgotten us - i in Latin, though.
Okay, why say "zed" instead of "zee" for the last letter of the alphabet?
and a few more XoD that was typed in 30 seconds, I didn't have time to remember /all/ of them!
Because it's correct, Molly.
because we love the datsun 280 "zed" x
(I don't know!)
'more haste less speed then dfm'
What's incorrect about zee?
because it derives from "Zeta"
or the camero iroc "zed"
Gotcha Cross, it's a car thang. : D
always wanted a Datsun 280 ZX when I was younger.
or zebra instead of zeeeebra ;)
FM, how would you pronounce the letter h? With or without the h at the beginning?
aich
(which, by the way, is pronounced with a long e... /zi:tÉ™/... o.0)
haitch
lol
Yes, I would as well, but some parts of the country teach it as haitch. I don't know why, just regional differences.
viva la differance!
*sings.. you say tomato I say tomato* darn typing the words rather than singing them loses something in the transation.
/eɪtʃ/?
FM, you could always speak in IPA...
granted, almost nobody would be able to understand you...
Gracious, we can hardly get her to type in English, introducing squiggles would be a recipe for disaster.
lol dfm but IPA is also a good strong dar beer over here.
*dark
Drink too many of them and you'd be incapable of typing anything!
hic!
/ju: sei təˈmeitəʊ ai sei təˈmÉ‘Ëtəʊ/ ?
al~u~min~i~um instead of aluminum each part sharply spoken fee o net i cally :) lol
<-- just learned last week that the Canadians don't have the second i in aluminium >.>
no wonder the grids can be such a challenge from time to time
Hint for tr8? D:
http://littleurl.info/joe~
that because till 1966 my ma was stuck using waxed paper lol
tr8 three year periods (pl.)
BR Greetings, I have been keeping the hamock frost free for you.
cgw - it means three years. Use a prefix for three, then the last part of a latin plural for a thousand.
Thanks. :D
Hello, BabbleRabble. Did you need that jacket?
Hello
a lovely 4c here and the birds are falling out of the trees
hi BR :o)
Birdsicles! Awesome!
howdy br
Hello, hello.
yes, they come with built in holders
Hi Judi.
Morning, all.
Hello, Judi. The birds around here are feeding at a great rate, it's hard to keep up with them.
No, Haz, it is in the twenties F
hi Judi :o)
most of our canada geese are heading south to poop on american windshields;)
Positively balmy in that case, BabbleRabble.
Same here, Haz. The squirrels and the jays are squabbling over everything. Must be a big storm coming. Do you have snow, Haz?
yaay geese pooping on American windshields!
Yes, Judi, not a huge amount but it's arrived unusually early.
Yep, needed some sun screen.
LOL. I knew Canada was to blame for all the goose poop!
xD
problem is dfm, they eat them down there
Parts of mainland Britain have had heavy falls, and more southern counties here, but not too bad where we are.
I thought it was America which make them overstuffed down there!
Do: poor geese... oh well, I guess we have enough... sometimes there're so many I can't see the ground...
There's a rather menacing gaggle of them in the field across from our house right now. Better they fertilise the field than my car.
Haz apaerntly it might go down to -20 in the highlands tonight just to add to all the snow and ice they ahve already had.
canada geese, menacing? they must get grumpy after all that flying
Canada geese used to poop all over our hockey pitches at school - that was fun :(
We actually have geese year-round, Crossy. We live close to the Chesapeake watershed. They're rather a nuisance.
I know, the forecast is a bit gloomy. Husband has got the winter tyres on to make it easier to get about the country roads.
crossy loves the word tyre
and boot and bonnet
Good for Mr Haz
what's the plural of "octopus" in the UK?
and lorry
octopi
ooh, me too crossy! :oO
octopi?
what did you think? octopusses? lol
Do: "octopi"?
I opened the bonnet of my car today to check the level of screen wash. Four attempts later I had to check the manual on how to do it (open the bonnet).
love it
octopodes or octopudes (Gr. 3-dec)
Well done, Haz!
We don't ever allow more than one octopus, health and safety regulations forbid it.
Octopustules.
lol
They are fernickerty clever little blighters.
pl. of chrysalis?
But chop them up and deep fry them and they taste wonderful
here in collingwood on the shores of georgian bay,as you may or may not know we host a big elvis convention here every year and as such we had to coin a word that means more than 1 elvis and we chose "elvii"
a d on the end of that dfm
that kills me, crossy >.<
-is is never pluralised to -ii...
it is now in the dictionary dfm
Surely there was only ever one Elvis?
we get inundated with elvii
chrysalis pl. should be chrysalides (again Gr. 3-dec)
... thank god there was only one ELvis...
Octo - π
-is is NEVER. EVER. pluralised to -ii.
Just call the rest 'The Pretenders' or 'The Pale Imitations'.
which begat another new word "citiots"
Hey ruru!
sorry all, phone
*I am all shook up*
Hello ruru. You leave yourself open to people believing that you loved Elvis or hated him. Which was it?
hi ruru! :o)
all the locals move out when the elvii are in town
Are you back, TO, or having to leave?
I wasn't crazy about him... he had a great voice, but was a very demented person
I think I'm going to go let the linguistics side of me commit suicide.
I didn't know Elvii migrated north..
He had his difficulties, that's for sure, but a distinctive voice.
Elvis was TOTALLY overrated. Elvis impersonaters are just pathetic.
back. briefly
they migrate here in the last week of july and the first week of august
If I have schizophrenia and one of us commits suicide, is it also counted as a homicide case? Do:
HIs daughter is more than a little weird too
We've covered the plural of Elvis and octopus, TO.
i have seen itallin elvis, chinese elvis, female trucker elvis..this is why we leave lol
saw one in holiday parade last sunday - elvis pretzel he threw out little packets of same
oh.. female trucker elvii.. yawn.. we have tons of them here in SF
Did he sing as he threw?
dfm not if you are sybil and have 15 personalities, cause your self #9 cannot testify against your self 33
#3
he lip synched and some lady threw them
lol rur
Good grief, could he not sing and fling at the same time?
also, Enable accepts "octopodes" :oD
it's difficult to sing and fling haz
of course not he is a man! *ducks down*
I love the line in Frasier where Niles is about to go to his multiple personality group and he claims that it takes forever to write out the name tags.
lol
that is not the hard part haz,the hard part is changing them every 5 minutes
:oD and it rejects the wrong plurals of some Gr. 3-dec nouns! :o)
*chuckle*
*puts on "Iam Woman song for FM*
Enable has re-earned some of my respect...
You'd have to have those ones that slide into a holder for the sufferer to change as he goes along.
dissociative disorder is serious business when consideration is given to the cause of the splits.
We've left plurals behind, dfm, keep up!
and it is easy to pick up ladies at those meetings"hey babe want to go out with me?" and if she says no,you just wait for the tramp lol
<-- has no idea who/what Elvis is/were/are and is lost anyway.
You don't know who elvis is???
you never heard of elvis?
I know, we're probably making light of a very serious subject. It's when people claim multiple personalities to explain crimes that you start to not quite know what's going on.
Oh come on dfm - you have nevr heard of Eliv?
x.x no?
*dumbfounded that dfm does not know who Elvis was*
You must live in a bubble.
Duuuuude, you live under a rock. D:
dfm,you have heard of ghandi?,the pope?
*passing hat to raise funds to get dfm removed from under the rock*
You ain't nothin' but a hound dog? Or Jailhouse rock? He did jailhouse rock, right?
oh and the world is round not flat btw.
LOL, Crossy!
no, who are those? :oO nah, yes I have heard of them... :o/
im just a hunk of buuurnin love;)
In his defence, he does know how to pluralise lots of words.
good,was just checking
don't make fun of bubble boy
Lol, I guess that saves him a little bit, Haz. xD
well gee that will come in handy.
it will when he is trying to identify things by using wikpedia;)
like elvis,god,water,eggs,etc
Hey, can I get a hint for ac4? I feel like it should be really easy, but I can't get it. :|
<-- most of his knowledge on the entertainment industry ends somewhere in the 1850s...
ac4 -a skin condition
ac4/5 is a skin condition
OH WAIT NVM LOL SORRY
zits cgw
Im ogoing to go and get dinner started. Happy Babbling all.
For some reason I thought it had 5 letters, not 4. Wow, I can't count
Toodle-oo FM.
See ya, FM!
bye FM :o)
there should be a town that all the citizens have to dress up like Elvis and handle the tourists
lol dfm,you do not own a tv or a radio or read newspapers ...
Be well, FM
by fm
... yes, but they're never on or open?
By fm. :)
bye*
you must get out a bit more
Ruru..I thought Vegas was that town....
how in the ehck did you even even discover computers?
oh.. true soods.. I forgot about vegas
Hello, Soodle.
<-- is also afraid of looking things up on Google Image or Wikipedia now...
BTW - Hello everybody :-)
hi Soodle! :o)
I think Wayne Newton won the coin toss for Vegas. Elvis was banished forever.
DFMC - Your in colour!!!!
yaay I am! ^.^
crossy envisions dfm and his first computer..spent a month trying to play a tune on the keyboard thinking it was a newfangled harpsicord
Hi Soodle. :)
wayne newton owns bransom mo now
what's that TO?
oh crossy, you should know about my first introduction to fashion... :o/
what is bransom mo?
bransoN mo - don't think he performs in vegas as much
it has forever scarred my mind and is the reason I don't use Google Image or Wikipedia much any more
that's a name I don't know.. I need to spend more time listening to music
Hey, guess who only has 18 words left? 8)
I can't quite imagine what it must be like for some of those artists to be playing in the same show for years in Vegas.
go cg go
yay cgw! :o) go! You can finish!
If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say cgw, but it's pretty wild.
yes Haz.. must be awful
xD
How many times can you sing "tie a yellow ribbon etc..
branson reminds me of a town we have in canada called brandon and it is in manitoba i think.it is the town that hands out the highest number of tickets...ever! if you are hear there and lost you phone caa or the aaa and they tell you how to steer clear of brandon lol
Do they do the same songs night after night or do they change it around a bit? I suppose it has the advantage of not having to move around etc, but you'd think it would get very monotonous.
breaking for last hanging of laundry for the season. bbs
the town makes 85% of the town revenue on tickets alone
sheeesh that is like bear delaware
that's all our police do is hand out speeding tickets
(and eat donuts)
they should relocate to Quebec.
lol T.O we had to stop hanging clothes 2 weeks ago, stuff was frozen solid..stacked it up like cord wood
Indoor clotheslines are wonderful.
treid to loosen up a tea towel and broke it
It's disaster if you put sheets out like that, trying to get them bundled up again is impossible.
100 words? in this e filled grid?...save me....
I get hung out to dry all the time
i get hung out so often i keep a few clothes pins in my pocket at all times
13 out of the 25 tiles are vowels.
Happy Cyber Monday to all
I suppose you might make an argument for nearly 14 if y is a sometimes vowel.
14.5 if you include the U in the Q tile
Haz - whats the weather doing in Ballymena?
hi bichon :o)
It's actually not as cold as it was yesterday, Soodle, if anything a slight thaw. We've escaped heavy snow, counties Down and Londonderry are much worse off.
lol crossie
I take it you've got plenty of snow?
dfm, you found your credit care! Now we have to work on a tag name for you
Hello, bichon.
Same here, but they are forcasting between 8 & 10 inches of snow for Dublin overnight.....
*card
actually going pro was a surprise for me ^.^
told him that name had to go:/
Eeeeek. They'll never cope with that!
Maybe he could rechristen himself 'IloveElvisnowthatIknowwhoheis'
Snow in Ireland? I didn't think it snowed in Britain/Ireland
Ugh, hints for ar5 and ar6? D:
wow,found another word...up to 16 now;(
Yes, but usually when the Met office give dire warnings, the worst doesn't happen. Its when no warnings are given that you have to watch out!
lol! love it haz
Oh, bichon, we do get snow most years, just not as heavy as you'd have in the States.
I thought winter was just a very damp old
ar6 - being more like Mr Garfunkel than another (devoutly hoping he knows who Garfunkel is)
ar5/10 (cryptic) An association is a headless syndicate
See what you learn in Babbleland. I've learned lots about Australia too
But, this end of the country grinds to a halt at the first centimetre, Bichon. Its comical.
here u go dfm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY27Tcz etLI
I recognize the name garfunkel, but I can't place it. D:
but I'm at work Do:
ar5/10 -ar plus first letters of what you use to phone.
hey cgw, that's one more than me!
Ah, thanks Haz, dfm you're too cryptic for me. D:
And one more what? :o
:o( add a C to the beginning if you want to know what I meant :o)
I can't even recognise the name garfunkel :oO
Paul Simon's friend.
Is it that guy in simon and garfunkel or whatevs?
How old are you dfm? I remember Somon & Garfunkel so well
nineteen? <.<
That explains a great deal.
LOL Bichon, at first glance at your post at 11.08, I thought you wrote Sodom and Gomorrah!!!
But Simon and Garfunkel are pivotal artists.
I have all their LPs in my basement
Ha, I now understand your clue, haz. Thanks. :D
lol, Soodle. Well, we know where your dirty little mind is, don't we?
i love simon and garfunkle
You're welcome, cgw.
My youngest is 18 and he knows who Simon and Garfunkel are. But then, he's been brought up in a very musical environment.
Their music just works.
Mama, don't take my Kodachrome away.
I'm 18 and I know who Simon and Garfunkel are, it just didn't hit me right away. xD
Lol, Judi - I even see phantoms in the chat log
<-- has been brought up in a very musical environmnet.
*environment...
And echoing Judi about Soodle's dirty little mind. : D

Parseley, sage... is my favorite
Hello darkness, my old friend.....
Lol, crossy, I've never heard that song before. xD
Okay, I must drag myself away to the kitchen to get some food cooked up. If you take my advice, dfm, I'd forget about finding out about Elvis, but concentrate instead on Simon and Garfunkel. Nobody can impersonate them!
They split up many years ago. Garfunkel faded away. Paul Simon has had a huge solo career. Brilliant stuff with Ladysmith Black Mombazzo.
Well, hello Mrs Robinson!
in the clearing stands a boxer and a fighter by his trade, and he carries the reminders of every punch that hit him and tapped him till he cried out: in his anger and his same"i am leaving,i am leaving but the fighter still remains...
I have Simons stuff on my Ipod. Love Graceland
hi Scrabs :o)
Don't forget about Elvis, I love elvis! D:
Ditto what Haz said.
omer
Yes, Graceland (Paul Simon) is brilliant.
Hi Kids!
Yes, I'm so bad. Got carried away in the moment
actually judi, for the first ten years or so afterwards art put out some hauntingly beautiful solo stuff
Okay, really gone now - lovely to see you again, Scrabbler!
Hi scrabbler. :)
TY for that clue, bichon.
howdy scrabs
Scrabs, do you ever watch "Mystery Diagnosis" on Discovery Health?
Paul Simon sings a song called "Graceland". An homage to Elvis. There's a obscure segway for you.
graceland is an amazing work indeed
Hello Scrabbler :-)
Scrabble, they have children with the weirdest syndromes on it
Ah, I'll have to listen to it. :D
my mrs LOVES mystery diagnosis
Nope, bichon, as I do not get Disc Health Channel with basic cable svc.
here,i sec cgw i have a clip here somewhere of one of his tunes done live at graceland.....
Hiya, Scrabbs!
I see "FLK"s frequently--"funny looking kids."
hi all. any clues for the 8 letter word?
:D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OafqYNC zq5U
hi mkg tr8 = periods of three years
there u go
TY df
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... or perhaps scraped from the bottom of the beholder's shoe.
ty must figure out how to spell it.
Thanks, crossy, though I'm gonna have to wait a little bit to watch it considering I'm in a quiet study room and have no head phones. D:
gee i thought it was annual but cant get it. funny...... i never was a great speller.
cgw better than a quiet workplace office ;o)
Lol probs. xD
got it!!!!!!!!!!! ty.
Judi, I mean "dysmorphic" kids with genetic or embryological issues. I saw a kid with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome last week, one with Angelman Syndrome too.
They've had Angelman's Syndrome on the show and a lot of other terribly rare syndromes. But, they always find a diagnosis somehow.
that is horrible
fetal alcohol syndrome is nasty..i was born at 2 pounds 2 ounces
I've even guess a couple of diagnoses like Guellen Barre
You had FAS crossy?
Because detailed DNA analysis is available, newer syndromes are being classified and named.
i had to hold out my hands like a airplane to walk as a young child
OWL! OK?
Oh my god, crossy. o.o
Most of the time the child is seen by a local pediatrician many times who has no clue
thank you for the clue for the 8 letter, finally got it!!
Crossy, you don't have FAS!
but that is then and this is now,(crossy makes jet sounds and holds out his hands and runs round the room)
Hahaha
no,but my mom drank and smoked heavy hence the weight, but we are learning
Let's all do the airplane dance----vrooom, vroom
hope you're not at work, crossy ;oP
scrabs: went to usual doctor today, reassured but now my dad is in hospital. when it rains...
lol, they know he at work,so they do not call the men in white coats
Just watch "Mad Men" Smoking and drinking during pregnancy was not recognized as dangerous then
Oh, no, Owl. What happened to Dad?
xD
penumonia
mm cats are demanding a feeding brb
sorry i am trying not to panic, borhter said he looks good
I am seeing my doc at 0700 tomorrow for BP 135-140/88-90 for last few wks.
that is high
I had to wear a 24 hour BP cuff once. Annoying as heck
Is it due to aggravation Scrabs?
TY for the reassurance. Yes, I know, so I stopped one med that can cause incr BP.
on sat at doctor mine was 102/60
I hope I don't have a brain tumor--dizziness too.
At least it's not Pre-eclampsia, right?
how is your eye doing scrabbs?
Fireworks. :D
Nope, my due date is not till June. Hahaha.
Yay cgw!
yaa for cgw!
Annoyingly blurry, Crossy.
congrats cgw! :o)
yay cg!
Haha, the only 2 I've finished were the 2 shortest ones. xD Thanks. :3
There was an article in this Sunday's NY Times Magazine about a Canadian [Ukranian descent] nonogenerian who runs track and field. She has the body of a woman 30 years younger
poor scrabbler. i have heard doctors make the worst patients - true?
Just watched the Paul Simon/Zimbabwe link Crossy provided. Damn! If I didn't have back surgery 10 days ago, I'd be dancing! What a awesome concert that must have been.
I am not a bad patient, I just do NOT like being the patient. And I know too much so assume the worst.
It's horrible to self-diagnose yourself and find possibilities of all these diseases too... Do:
welli assume the worst and i am not even a doctor LOL
Scrabs, good things happen to good people. Keep tht in mind
oh btw,my chances of reofending with cancer again have been downgraded and princess margaretes has kicked me out and all i have to do is blood work and ct scan locally once every 6 months!!! yaaaaa!
Ah, bye for about 2 seconds while I relocate to outside my math class. :)
Yes, that is why I fear a brain tumor as cause for dizziness and incr BP.
Yahoo Crossy!
yay crossy!
yay crossy!
But high BP can cause dizziness, right?
Yes, it can, and I started a med in the summer that could be the culprit. I stopped the med 11/25 and hope symptoms resolve.
sorry i lost track..you have a tumor scrabbs???!
I FEAR a brain tumor.
No she doesn't. But she thinks she has cause she's a doctor
get it all checked out fast scwabby
*smacks Crossy upside the head* Sorry to hear you are feeling wonky, Scrabbs. Any chance it might just be an inner ear thing?
I will buy the Fisher-Price Home Head CT Kit later and tell you the news.
if symtoms persist,do not try to diagnose yerself, get a mri or something scwabby
Arrrrgh. Black humor. *giggles*
Labyrinthitis, that's it
Dizziness is 1-2 seconds, occasional and usually with turning head, so could be vestibular.
do they make one?
So the doctor said, "Don't toin your head." *rim shot*
If you stop an SSRI you an get dizziness
just like my mother in law..sit there and dream up 1000 horrors before actually getting it looked at :/
I am joking, Owl. I do that here at the office a lot--tell the triage nurses to tell parents to get various fictional Fisher-Price sets.
as you may guess,i am now a firm believer in not doing the "lets wait and see what happens" method lol
Back. :)
Geesh. I'm down to 38 words and haven't typed in a word in about an hour. This chat is too engaging today.
Isn't it too engaging every day?
xD
I haven't written a single line of code for work, and it's been four hours.
I amstuck with 44 to go.
wait, scratch that, I did finish that other assignment when there was nobody but cgw and I in here.
You're such a terrible worker. xD What do you do, btw, if you don't mind my asking?
waiting just makes stage one into stage 2 and stage 2 into stage 3 and stage 3 into get your best suit ready
xD
Ca's are quirky. I only have the toad and the dog.
erm... wr5 code?
ok crossy will shut up now;)
Yeah. Don't make me have to smack you again, Crossy.
get the leather out judi...
Ah, I see.
Toad? I have ca5 = boat similar to kayak.
Ooh, and ca5 = law, e.g. in Catholic Church, or alternate meaning = "county" in Switzerland
Meeee-owwwww! *snap snap*
Ca4: Aussie toad.
meow?
mm,i better think of a code word fast...
Aussie toad? I have ca4 = Abel's brother.
Same diff, Scrabbs.
xD
Judi, you can always start lobbing fruit from your hat at Cross if...I mean when he misbehaves. : P
Oh, fruit
Fruit's too good for him, Molly.
brb, insurance adjuster is here to look at the car. when it rains...
If I give him lemons, he'll just make lemonade.

Well, I'm out. Bye. :)
Much less pain, now TO. Will be on disability for a few more weeks though.

Ty, Doren. I was off researching causes of vertigo.

Minor back surgery, Crossy. Nerve root decompression.
TY, df

oh, sorry judi, heal quickly and well!
Yippee, Doren!
you must be so proud, doren
cause of vertigo=standing up lol, when i was young and foolish i used to be able to go on 6 levels of scaffolding to put siding on a building, now i get dizzy standing on my tip toes lol
Ty, ty.
Judi, I have experienced sciatica x 3---neuralgia is excruciating!
cant get the ae 7. how does it end?
i am... certainly can't take a lot of credit, but sure do enjoy!
The Potrait of Dor*** Gray.
the ae7 is almost like a scale modal
yup, judi. you have many sympathizers... i had laminectomy thirty five years ago... it sure is a horrible pain
i get that running down my right leg and round my butt cheeks, sciatica is hell when driving
Fortunately, my problems are not that sever, Scrabbs. First 5 days post-surgery were the worst. 6th day - huge reduction in pain. Happy me.
ty scrabbs
*severe*
Sciatica is really bad.
Cruise control helps
crossy, do you do abdominal exercises? pilates has really made my sciatica better
make me wish for cruise control so i could move my leg a bit
still lost on ae 7. sorry.
Dorens, I never blamed myself when they messed up; therefore, I never took the credit when they succeeded.
i have a few exercises i got off the net for it dorens
got it! ty.
i like that, gramma!
doren if i come back to nj later this week i may call you for dinner?
hints for the conglomeration of E's in the middle?
Judi, My son just had surgery on his back and it was not good at all. He is still in tremendous pain.
hey evaN!
you can try owl... let's see what happens. i'm off to boston on friday (taking Phoebe to the Nutcracker Saturday morning), and am somewhat swamped... what day would it be?
afternoon, TO :)
nm. depends on how long they keep dad and he just went in
lower right E: em4/6 (ling.) adj. of a significant unit
what happened owl?
Everyone is different, gramma. Depends on what you have done. My SIL had what they call a basket laminectomy. She was in bed for about six months. Several discs involved. She's pain free now, though. That's what having 9 children will do for your skeletal structure.
poor judi,i know the feeling.i have 3 herniated discs in my neck(my stupidity) and i get this pain and pulling sensation down my arms all the time..but i will have to be crawling on all fours before i let them open me up.i have seen too many friends go in like that and come out using 2 canes for life;(
howdy mrs eva;))
Middle left E: eo6/18 eternal Middle right E: ee5/10 weird
also, hi EvaN, you shouldn't ask for clues as your first chat line, otherwise I won't greet you ;oP
I acutally had micro-surgery crossy. Incision is only about 1 1/2" long. Not sure what's available in Canada, but it's worth looking into.
oo word please?
that is so amazing and helps healing so much
Although, cervical work can be a bit more tricky than the lumbars - where my work was done. L4, L5.
even my doc said to wait till it really starts to interfere with walking or using your arms
my disc had been shattered... took long time to get all the pieces out, but i had immediate relief in the recovery room (mine was l4/l5 too.. think it's common)
Good for you, Dorens. Happy endings do happen quite often.
oo6/24 Eskimo boat
ty dfm
TY, df!
I'm just glad I didn't need a disc replacement.
(although it's weird seeing that spelling... I usually see it with a q at the end...)
wish i knew eskimo boat. ty.
gotta go.. happy babbles!
I have seen it as um***
#have you thought about accupuncture for the pain? REally helped with my arthritic hip. One replaced four years ago, the other one on the way out
Bye Doren
Hi Eva, ask for all you clues you want honeybunch.
btw scrabbler sorry, again
bye Doren
See ya, Dorens.
No problem, Owl. I wanted to help to alleviate your concerns.
bye doren
Well, when you do have it done, Crossy, make sure you go to the best surgeon you can get.
One of those middle e's is a city in California with a different ending.
got those E's -- thanks!
how about tr 7 please?
TY, Molly. That leaves me with 36 to go. BBL.
Your welcome Scrabs. Nice to see you here.
tr7/28 apprentice
Hiya, Eva!
mm,wish i knew california
ty
holy cow totally miised that 5
and the 4 :/
Dr Scrabs -- i have a question! my right ankle has been hurting (on the outside part of the ankle) ever since my honeymoon (a month ago) it seemed to start hurting from all the walking we did, but the pain/discomfort hasnt subsided. do you think it could be the onset of arthritis? (i have feared early-onset arthritis from all the dancing i did growing up)
Gonna be testing a GM script soon, please bear with any stupid glitches please :o)
i once had a feeling like that eva,was a sharp stabbong pain when i flexed a certain way..turned out to be a bone spur from a old injury
*Molly faints. Eva is too young to have arthritis*
Must have been the high heels, Crossy.
lol from a old broken ankle
this isnt a sharp pain. its fairly dull, but sometimes (especially when im walking around a corner) it almost feels like my ankle isnt strong enough.
they dont make many size 10 heels in a colour i like
Picky tramp.
I'd guess a bone spur before arthritis.
so they had to open me up and remove it..was that ever painfull afterwards!!!!!!
molly, i know! thats why its gotten me worried. but with all the abuse i put on my joints over the years, it seems the most likely answer to me... i have had bone spurs before, and those felt different.
Eva are you taping it or bracing it at all?
my god! so bad that on the second day post op,i had to go to emerg and get them to redo the bandages
If I only knew Eva well enough to joke about ankle injuries on honeymoons! So many jokes.....
was on oxy-codin(sp) for ten days
lol, jm -- im actually surprised no one has made that joke yet. ;)
*opens Pandora's box of honeymoon jokes* Wheeee!
molly, i havent been yet. ive been TRYING to wear flat shoes, but i do wear my heels around the office. (thats not much walking, but apparently its still too much!) it doesnt hurt as much when i wear flats.
crossy -- i was on that last year with my kidney stone. slept for a full day!
Oxy is wicked stuff. I had Percocet for after my back surgery. Worked well for the pain but made me sleepy as hell.
My step-mum was worried that I would get addicted. I am sooooo not an addictive personality. I shun most drugs.
oxy- meds are amazing, guess that is why they only dish them out in small amounts lol
Could be any of several things Eva. Could be a stress fracture, could be a tendon thing. You are a dancer, you know the drill.
i told you eve not to do everything in that kama sutra book!
well, as far as i can recall, i didnt DO anything to it. no tripping, twisting, or anything i can think of to cause an actual injury. we did a LOT of walking, and it got sore, so i thought that was it, but its been a month now, and still hurting! thats why i am fearing arthritis...
i look at one thing in there and immediatly phone ikea to see if they could send someone over to help me put it together
They just shut down a pain managment clinic near me, Crossy. The "Doctor" had doled out over 10,000 prescriptions for 30mg Oxycontin in 25 days. Turns out, he was a major supplier to all the drug dealers in Wilmington, DE. They found tons of money and guns in the Doctor's office as well as in his vehicle and home. Crazy as bat sh*t.
oh, my crossy...heh
evaN, i found a new funk group that may cheer you up.
how can he do that?? that is almost 1000 scrips a day!!

I am not impressed with the Cyber Monday deals. I have not found one thing that appeals to me or that I think is a good price.
here molly get yourself a nice book at www.biblio.com then. many great books for under 5 dollars!
A sniper is probably a good ai5/12. Or maybe it's just the scope...
ty dfm
ty
hello again
howdy ruby tuesday!!
hi {{ruby}}! :o)
this is a very hard grid for me. I found 53 words before but, just now, reading over the chog I couldn't get any of the new ones!
:o( poor ruby
it is full of babblets
ruby bluesday!
and phantoms
ruby be proud,i have but 34 atm:/
haha, crossy
i keep seing "rarity"
now I feel bad for only needing to monkey thirteen words :o(
don't feel bad dfm, you could so Rubik's cube (not like crossy and me) *notice, it's not called Ruby's cube
mince is what i keep seeing
I keep seeing "ammonia". Even though I'm done the grid o.o I'm still tempted to input it in...
all of those plus ammoniac
a maniac?
omen
no, ammoniac
Who's a maniac?
easy there dfm,i have taken my meds you know
moraine
Um Cross...I'm not Christmas shopping for myself. : P
also "once"
and "wince"
But an increase of the amount of liquid precipitation would just make the ground more icy than it is! Do:
if we put all of them together, we could wr*** a holiday song about maniacs sniffing ammonia.....tralala
while eating mince pie
*wince*
i can remember my ma using that god awful ammonia on the kitchen floors
hello everybody froma cold cold white scotland
hi jaq!
howdy jacq
hi jac :o)
we have 8 inches here, it's lovely just now but the roads are a mess and there were no veggies in the supermarket today
erh... hi jac from cold iced-over Ottawa
howdy jacq from cold snowy ontario
hello jacq
waves to everyone from the frozen countries that don't shut down after a few days snow
i think only red is sweating today
I keep my veggies in my "French fridge" which is the table on the deck in wiwnter
why shut down, there is more coming anyways
my daughters fridge freezer broke down on friday but because she was working all weekend she didn't notice
it is beautiful here when it snows
the beauty pales after the first 4 feet or so:/
crossy it is amazing that in northern europe we shut down, it always seems to take the roads dept by surprise and they struggle to keep them open
the beauty pales after they put sand etc on it lol
here we must plan for it jacq
here, they don't do much
and they announced no salt this year
we should here too crossy, there are only a couple of main roads in scotland, the A9 always closes through the mountains cos they can't keep up with the drifts
i have seen the snow banks so high at intersections in the winter, that you have to send your passanger out to make sure the way is clear
the beauty pales when you get 5 cm, and then it melts and freezes, all in one day
i have stocked up on snow this year after last years disaster, no salt for food in any shop for weeks
and then the temperature never quite hits -5C again...
not snow lol, salt i meant
see snow on the brain
there are two mountain passes near hear, one closes by now and stays closed until may but the other must stay open except on the worst days
we have been told to expect -7C tonight and - all week till friday when it will hit -11, nice clear skies
here* duh
and that is just here on the coast, it was -16.1 in some highland village last night and -20 in one part of wales
and for some reason we are never quite ready for it
once we get below minus 20 and the snow is nice and crunchy underfoot that when winter really begins;)
personally i love it, the garden looks great, it looks like the posh garden down the street lol
i changed the oil in the car for the thinner winter mix already;)
we have the car ready, just keeping an eye on the garage roof, it has a very slow slope
we have roof shovels for that, neat long handled contraptions
now if that lower A was an E i would have loads of words
but then the grid wouldn't be so small!
very true
i struggle with smaller grids
someone clue me a word! i have been stuck forever!
what letter crossy?
a nice hart t word perhaps
hard
ir an e word
or
do you have te5/10 ribbon and te6/18 pl.?
or the ti that sounds the same?
lookin....
the ti sounds slightly different :o/
you all are giving me the shivers!!! bbl, must run errand

i asked the wife for a nice new pair of long johns for christmas
nite ruby
oops
supposed to be a old fasioned, super snowy bone chilling wihter like the old days
well, super snowy till the bay freezes over and we lose the lake effect crud
same here crossy, means i can cook proper food too, soups, stews and casseroles, mmmmmmmmmmmm
real belly warmers
mmm,comfort foods....
when we were young, mum always had a pot of soup or stew going on the back burner of the stove
mmmmmmmmm laod it up with veggies and just keep adding to it
load too even
run in,take the liners out of your boots and put them by the wood stove to dry,get the snow suit off and two of the 3 pairs of socks to join the boot liners, run into the kitchen, ladle out some soup and eat that while waiting for the grilled cheese sammiches
or come in to find a big cauldron of chicken and dumplings....mmmm
LOL thats how i was dressed all weekend crossy, to say i got odd looks in the shops, but i was warm as anything
ohh! i have vaulted from 34 to 36 words and none that were clued for me lol
i'm stuck fast with 42 left
we had balaclavas, and i can still hear mum yelling at us as we ran out the door with our hockey sticks..."breathe in through your nose and out through your mouths!! i want no kids of mine coming back here with frosted lungs!"
not that it mattered anyways, after 4 yhours in that cold,we all had boogies all down our faces all frozen..would be a miracle if our noses worked
Do: is this grid really that bad?
i find it hard dfm
lol crossy
but i have yet to list as well
i am finding it hard and haven't listed yet either but i think it won't be long
did you two get nbt yet?
hello all - living in Africa - so strange you all grew up coping with extreme cold - when we coped with extreme heat and sunburn
Heard you talking about this before, how do you list?
you would think we lived on different planets

Nan! I'm standing by your side. I always think I've tried every combo and then whammo, someone points out the only one I missed.
hi kazz :o)
also hello nan, seem to have missed your entrance
day in the life for me molly
hi all thanks for the clue for the ay
and the other a is an ac5 and the best clue we have concocted is ac+ a greek plural ending
my belly button is not a good clue for it,it seems....

moo juice
I know some people who need to swallow a glass of mild.
ae 7, please?
ae7/28 eternal
or a person who takes forever to get there lol
onto the es
kind of like me spelling milk correctly
when you get that ae7, remove the a to get an eo6
I have an ae 6 that could fit those defs, but still looking for the 7
why am I still finding phantoms after being done Do: thanks for 'eocene' now, jac XoP
oh -- got them -- ty
think of prehistoric eras, devon***, cambr***, etc
ng
same ending
okay, that makes 'eocene' even more phantomy.
LOL
not the ic endings like jurassic
that happens to all cronic babblers dfm,i can be cluing and all done, and my eyes are still looking for words in the finished grid..to the point where i have to hide it by changing the window size so i just see the chog
done the es
but I don't look at the grid when I'm babbling anyway Do:
*curses his eiditic memory* and a very poor one at that, it keeps on switching exactly three tiles around every grid!
Good clue for the ae7 Jaq
ty
an eiditc memory must be a pain in the butt
also, *eidetic. -.-
only when it's imperfect, crossy
hi all. back.
tr 6 clue please.
i mean you must remember everything you have ever messed up,every error and screw up with exqusite detail, sometimes one of the best human traits is being able to forget or at very least use rose coloured glasses when looking back
also need ac 5 clue.
oops got the tr 6. sorry. monkeys worked.
but ac not coming up.
ac, not out, and me, myself and *
i will no longer clue the ac...my inverted belly button is tired

Linolenic acid is an oxidised tr6.

tr 6, a clue I can understand please
ty dfmc. i am clueless about the acid but did get the word
they are,,i think
like the 8 after it but cut short.
brb, real life is being a pain and interrupting..semi-poof
I did get the word, but the moneys helped a whole lot
need te 6 please. then off to work
tr6/18 = a hydrocarbon with three C=C double bonds
add a vowel to the one before it
at the end
dfm, nobody understands this but you
:o(
you are so cute dfmchfhf. you must be a chemist
tr: then two vowels, a cons. and a vowel at end.
how is that for a non chemical clue?
<-- drops into his uni biol. and chem. classes randomly? (and then gets kicked out of the exams... *sigh*)
a 5?
ac5?
ac5/12 berries from a cluster
ac, opp of out, one more vowel.
missing an 5 10.
or ac + ... (config) files
no 6, please?
sorry meant an 6. not 5.
ty mkg
an5/10 negatively charged terminal
an 5 sounds like veggie whih makes you weep
an6/21 + an6/24 (sociol.) lawnessless + adjectival
ty. got the 5 but need the six please.
a + french monicker + most of frozen water

but you don't speak latin, nan! ;oP
dfm -- you went pro!!!
no -- just a little french
yeah, it was a pleasant surprise ^.^
and you have to admit, that one is also used in english
Pardon me, but what is tw5/18? Elmer Fudd saying tr5/10?
yes molly -- how did elmer pronounce the letter r?
it's a dyslexic writing wr5/18.
if its the TW5/18 i have, its a type of string...
there are 2, eva
Jokin' Eva. : D
apparently it's a corruption of tuyere.
there goes dfm and his big brain again
is dfmchfhf an anacronym for something?
:)
ahh. my brain is tired, excuse me. :)
I google searched that one >.>
no, it's something I encrypted for a grade 3 project on cyphers... forgot the original word by now though...
crossy,s brain hurts...
but brains don't have nerves capable of sensation!
oh oh -- here we go -- bye everyone -- see you at the flip :)
bye nan :o)

congrats kazz :o)
yaa for kazz!
sounds like kaz is going to drown herself :(

ahh nm found one
is that an L or an i?
L
got the night time talk show host
did you get the Angolian currency?
nope
kwanza does not fit lol
5 more and i can list:/
need an i or an e for nbt
in 4/4...a country without the middle letter
ty molly
3 more to list and an e for nbt
Which E are you missing?
Hello...
hi Jellen :o)
last one in second column and the one in last column
E on (4,2): em4/6 (ling.) significant unit
ty dfm
E on (2,5): en6/21 oak et5/18 small case esp. for needles
ty once again
I am so confused...doesn't the small needle case have a U in it?
it's an alternate spelling.
Good grief! TY!
Hello car and hurshy...
Hi Jellen!
Hi Hurshy!
Hello Everyone! Just popping in a for a few minutes.
got me too, car :o) hello car and hurshy
I am still struggling with the Angolian currency clue from earlier....
starts with a weird letter pair.
Well, it comes up as Kwanza, so I am not sure what to do with that!
spell the needle case phonetically.
Is that the same as the currency?
no, the currency is lw and two vowels
TY Dawg! That is the one I needed!
No just the 2 center E's left to get....for NBT that is!
spooky for one of those E
I swear I tried that a jillion times!!!!!
the other is eo6, long time + *** Fleming, 007 author
TY Dawg!

ay 4/6
Snap Bich!
hi Molly, bichon :o)
Bich, much as I loathe snow, that is a pretty picture in your profile.
ty
first column all greyed out
ty Molly. I love winter and snow. Most people don't believe me though
Oh I believe you. You are the balance for someone like me. : D
*pretends not to believe bichon*
we got a lot of snow last night.. the whole yard is covered.. so pretty
Do you people who like snow have folks who shovel it for you and drive you in it?
Nope
I think I might like snow a little more if that were the case.
I only like snow til Jan 2nd --- when the Holidays are over
i love snow but hate the cold so winter is fine while it is snowing. it sucks the rests of the time.
What I dislike the most about winter is "slippery". I am terrified of slipping on ice.
I don't like winter because the air is too dry and the ground is too wet. The temperature is okay though... :o/
ah gotta love our individuality!
i dont like winter when it's -20 outside and I can feel stuff inside my nose freeze
<-- has burned (yes, burned...) himself via a static discharge :o(
that might be TMI but i totally agree!
No, I don't either. But, it feels so good when you come inside and warm up. I like the oziness
Ah, Cross was just speaking of frozen snot earlier today. I was at a bus stop once, and it was ten degrees. I was so cold I wanted to cry, but I was afraid my tears would freeze.
Molly, you should get "Yk Trax"
*Yak
the first an5?
oo 6/24 is one weird word
time to go home... :o) bye for now
That weird Japanese cartooning Cos.
an 5 is Japanese cartoon art
Hello everyone, bye dfm!
ah thanks
Can I have an e hint?
whih e Mrk?
so many e's, so few words
Any e. I only have 24 words!
Not enough information mark
ee5 = spooky
Maybe the very right e
en 6/21 Sounds like a CA city, different last vowel

yay bichon!!
hi ang
Thank you Bich. I just ordered some Yak Trax and got a Cyber Monday discount. My holiday/winter present to myself.
Ahh.. en6 sounds like a pauly shore movie
hi nana
comcast went out last night,,,all the way to baltimore,,,,they put apologies on the tv today
omg thank god i got rid of comcast a few weeks ago
that stinks
ar5? :(
we begrudgingly did a cable.phone, internet package with rogers recently..but we save over 50 dollars over having all that with three different providers
ar + don't ***l someone's secret
i have dish for cable... and qwest for phone/internet.. we're saving $220.00 a month this way and we get more cable channels
We have comcast, and it didn't go out yesterday;
here the weather is always knocking dish cable out of order
so mot many use it
not
all my neighbors have dish.. so we askd them all.. they all say. .dish- fine. no problems.. directtv- big issues when bad weather
it snowed bad last night and we had no issues with dish - so that was a nice relief
ty angelina!
we were thinking of netflix, but i do not want to spend the rest of my life watching b grade movies
b grade? netflix has every movie known to man!
They're not b grade! I have netflix and it is awesome! I agree with cosdem.
from major hits to movies no one has heard of
we can get it now for 8 bucks a month
Oh, so that's what happened to my internet last night. I live in a condo and will not "uglify" my patio with a dish. I don't watch enough movies to justify Netflix. Also, I used to cruise the movie rental stores for old favorites. Ah, I miss the "video" store.
i get it for 14 a month but thats b/c i do 3 at a time.. if i wanted 1 at a time thats 8 bucks.. good deal nonetheless b/c u can also watch it streaming
Molly -- How about Redbox?
Yeah, we have Redbox, but their choices are very limited. I'm working on amassing a DVD collection.
Thats why I have cable.. i record movies on the dvr, then record it to my dvd recorder so I have a copy :)
with dish - dvr is free
comcast was one major rip off really
Alas, Comcast has the monopoly here. If I lived somewhere that the dish wouldn't white trash my patio, I would consider it.
yeah.. im lucky my dish is on the roof.. but comcast is the only other provider here
good lord took me all this time to find the water conveyance you use a paddle for...
And I would need a long tutoring session on how to DVR and all that.
and with comcast.. TvLand stops captioning tv shows after 9pm.. while on dish it still works. so.. and i NEED closed captioning
That one eluded me for a while too Cross, don't feel bad.
molly - just press record :) thats all u need to know lol
our tv adds cc to any program that supports it
Can I have a wr hint?
Cos, that "stops captioning after 9PM" sounds like the makings for a lawsuit. What about the ADA laws?
yes crossy we have it here too. it's the law :) but... the problem was with comcast's sytem.
once we switched to dish CC has never been an issue.
wr 5/18...people used to wr*** letters. Now they just text and email. SIGH
we talked to comcast's CC department. they say it is a glitch in tvland's stations but why does it work with dish and any other cable provider and not comcast?!
clue for the ca6?
I got that one molly, but thanks. I have 2 but need the 3rd.
ca6 ... woof woof!
oh.. lol thank you
yw!!
The other wr 5 sounds like what you dry clothes in.
thanks mo
the horse face comedian is a word? figures
yw Mark.
50 left!
The wr 4 sounds like a shortened version of what you would call a British citizen.
just take the last letter off the wr5 b4 it
I can't get that one molly
no -- after it
wr5 after it. take off the last letter for the wr4
I need the last wr. You guys have given me the others.
i have wr4 and the wr5 after it.. did u need either one?
o.o just when I left the chat exploded into talking... :o(
wr5/18 .....rhymes with what you put your laundry in after it has been washed
it sounds like someone who cries a lot too :P
or what you cook your chips in : D
or someone who applies crowbars a lot.
we7?
we7/44 of or like a cyst
if that horse were any more chatty, cos, sort of
hmm
ah got it
the horse clue helped. ty
erm. *more of or like a cyst.
good to know what it means, dfm, ty

People here often suggest "morewords". I think we also need the site "fakewords". : P
the "fake" words are also on morewords
:) i c hecked.
"It's such an honor to be a no7" :)
Hilarious headline. Now, along with The Tea Party, there will be a Tequila Party. Patrone for all!! Ole!
lol yes i saw that.. i think its mostly in arizona and nevada
No wonder with all the Latino immigration issues in those States.
right. but that could be problematic for Barack Obama in 2012 if the "Tequila Party" runs a candidate in these states
Can I have an oo hint?

Got it. Thanks!

i have.. didnt realize you were new
he thinks you're invisible! :oO
Mark, "started five days ago"...sometimes it feels that way. I sometimes wonder how people are all done in an hour. The super genius thing eludes me.
I am. This grid feels small. molly, i'm not done. I have 44 words.
a few weeks ago we had over 400 words in the grid
unfortunately i didnt get any of the clues :(
That feels so hard. How many did you get?
I don't even try to finish grids that big. I would have to have no life outside of here to do that.
Howdy all!

brb
ahhh, trif .. great video (i picked it up from carlee's fb!)
back to your old name?
ty :)
thanks welki! I wonder if she stole it from me? I sniped it from my friend MA
Yes, knitter. And unless "Bowie" suddenly is an option, I won't be changing it again!
i want to change mine to Depp LOL
hmmm. pretty sure my sister has BIG dibs on that one!
Did she tell you what I gave her for a gift last year?
i will have to beat her up
what was it?
I found a pair of JD pajama bottoms, and I stuck a HUGE note in the crotch, on the inside, that said "Congratulations! You finally got into Johnny Depp's pants!" She ROLLED laughing!
that is too funny
she was all crabbing too - "there is a huge tag in these! Why do they always put the big tags right on the inside...." crab crab crab
lol
Trif, that is hysterical! I need to remember that one for future use. : D
very cool trif -- the Hallelujah Chorus almost always brings tears to my eyes
yes i am filing that one in the evil plots section of my brain
Long day, need to fix dinner....bbl to finish
I must say, I am good at thinking of funny tags and things like that. My BEST one was at Car.eeyore's bridal shower. I got her this big sparkly crown that said "Bride of the Year!" and snapped the B off....I still giggle at that one.
Thanks JMC! Me too! I would have jumped up and sang along
why are you changing your name trif i missed something in this conversation
www.freerice.com for those who don't already know about it
i would have too trif
went back to my unmarried name, jmc

thanks for the ae..bit late but thanks ;)
well congrats -- never quit using mine but such a personal choice!!

I haven't thought about freerice for a while too o.o
Aknitter, the evil plots section of my brain takes up sooooo much room. : D

hello :)
its a book, and a really, really good one. I am sure you will LOVE it
hello sami
hmm, weird... my mi4-icon isn't updating but my large one is...
my current favorite book is mistakes were made but not by me
both of them are rubiks cubes to me dfm -- you may have to close your browser and then reopen
really must go -- no jack daniels at the office!
"mooer" should be a word. That cow is a better mooer than that one.
moooooo
*Mailing Jack Daniels to JMC's office*
mooier is the correct term
damn-- didn't get out fast enough now have to answer an email
*poof*
maybe its the Jack Daniels upload from molly?
or mooiest - that would be the bestest mooer on the farm
see? this is what I am saying! Aknitter, by the way, thanks again for emailing me about babble in the first place. What did I do before babble, and all the wonderful babblers?
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
Before Babble there was Wordsplay.net
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
clearly you had a meaningless and empty existence lol

Howdy Lil. Trif, I just read your profile. "Imagine A Woman" is a keeper and a read every day event. Thanks.

Hey, everyone. :)

OK tanks Kappy
Oh Kap, maybe you can get a scholarship to Camp Grenada.
eenie
oops
Lilmonkey, start thinking of threes, and then just throw ridiculous letter together and you will be all set
Life is very entertaining. Tjhey say we might have fun if it stops raining.
OK tanks Trifi
Not the choo choo Lil. Build on the three prefix, and like Trif said, just throw in ridiculous letters. It's a stoopid word.
oh my god, for the 8 millionth time I forgot the leads for a horse. What is my problem with that word?
i hate E words. i only know maybe 4 or 5 and none of them are in this grid
You remember...Leonard Spivey...he came down with...poison ivy.
Think of something that happens every three years.
I feel that way about I words
molly, you are in camp grenada today?
*Kap and I are singing "Hello Mudda, Hello Fadda*
Take...me...home

Oh mudda, fadda take me home!

Just like Jackie kennedy
Just like Jackie kennedy
As a kid I knew the Sherman versions before I knew the real songs in some cases, which was a bit odd
Sorry A knitter- this is esoteric, but you can look up Allan Sherman- "My son the Folksinger" and then you too will be in the know.
And now back to our regularly scheduled program, already in progress.
lol
. . . .two heads are better than one
I'm better now. Thanks.
someone make my word work so i can go home
Not before I throw out a chorus of Won't You Come Home Dirsraeli, won't you come home? Come home to Queen Victoria? Okay, I'm done.
Or Disraeli
My Dad is laughing at this on the other side. He loved that record.
The key to the palace is under the mat---My dad too.
Did you dad love Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner too? Cellophane!
I do miss my dad. It's almost 10 years.
Carl Reiner yes. Mel Brooks was a little too crude for my Irish Catholic Pop. I miss my Dad too. And almost ten years as well. Dad crossed over in 2001.
But on a lighter note- I went down to Mt. Sinai hospital...
Your dad was Irish and he got Allan Sherman? Are you Molly Malone- cockeyed and musclebound Molly Malone?
Mine died in 2001 also.
Early Mel Brooks. Before he got scatalogical.
I gotta go but it's been fun reminiscing.
That would be me Kap. I am also known as the devil with the blue dress on, but not to my Dad. ; P
Bye. Sorry for hogging the chog.
Me too. I will hush now, unless someone needs a clue.
fw
sneaks back into the fog....
so happy to be a little fish in the big sea...
MPitt, you are no little fish. Nope, uh uh.
does the 2nd we 7/44 build off the we 4/8 above it?
no luv...I was working on that same word when you asked that question.
Molly, sometimes big fish swim by and churn up the water but after they go by the water returns to as it was before...big fish can't help but being seen and they are an easier target because they are easier to see by all...little fish sometimes dart behind them but and can escape they are still there just less noticable....
we + double consonant + more of ending
thanks Nonnie, that gave me fireworks!
you're welcome luv and congrats!
thanks

no, I will say again: you are making waffles. Now.
You are doing nothing except for making waffles, and listening to anyone on chat telling you to make waffles.
now i'm getting hungry.
mmmm waffles
(and of course standard life-sustaining actions such as breathing.)
agreed, but you'd be amazed... the kids these days don't know about real waffles. which is why I'm bringing m waffle iron up to boston this weekend to show my granddaughter how they are made! we agreed on this last month... thanks for the reminder

prefix for three.... + h**** ( hair dye ) insert 3rd vowel into second last position
Ok I will work on that
oo 6/24 please ?

;-)
As yet no but that is ok. I have an idea
cow sound backwards then 3rd vowel, 1st and 3rd consonants
think of the plants that come up in your garden every year.... but instead of per.... put the prefix for three...... ( drop the last consonant from that )
