wow freep -- congrats
congrats freep :o)

I don't have any 7's or 8's yet
m9 do you have the me4/6 + me6/27, me6/24?

I'm feeling very stupid
ty Jilli, need any clues before I go?
g'night flosey
happy happy hour?
I have far too many words to find, flosey -- but could you drop a hint for any fo word? I can't see even one of them.
Yes, very nice as always, but I'm tired, not tiddly.
there are 4 of them, same word and plural - except drop a vowel from the middle
sounds like a Telus
instrument
sorry, let that go before I was finished
begins as enemy
ah, got that fo4 -- ty flosey -- and now the first fo5. Not exactly everyday words.
I have it on a list of words not familiar to me
the fo5 add another vowel
that's where the enemy comes in
I should make that babblet list
comes in handy
I have them all now, thx
good
any more?
oh, only 79 more, lol!
I skipped the pot luck supper tonight and so glad I did, sorry to miss it but was very tired
help for the SN6 please?
off you go to bed -- sleep well!
soyy, pug -- don't have it.
when someone misses an easy clue, the might say G****
that's the sn6
I'm lost dear
sorry, not an easy one to clue
pls forgive my typing -- must have burnt my left index fingertip -- can't use it to hit keys.
not geez,
that & PE6/21 are my last 2
hate to go to bed with 2 left is all
it could be a word spelled backwards, almost
sh*** and plural
you might admire the sh*** of a fabric
ty & good god
what a crazy word
strange one
what is your other one
but that's a sh, not an sn...
sounds like a Dr Seusse character
lol
I'm lost
got it from that clue though
I'm too old for Seuss ans so is my son :-(
well, has ruru been here? if so, pu4 must have been his first word
starts like not a cough but a sn**ze
sn + double vowel + a cod or carp is a fi**
and you might say oh **it!
much better clue pugs
was a tough one to clue
yes
PE6/21? for fireworks ?
ah, ty, got the sn -- don't worry, flosey, that's what I thought you meant but I couldn't work it out.

my brain is like teflon , very little sticks
it's a French loanword.
lol, good one pugs
means a thought -- should have an acute accent over the penultimate letter
more often a reflection.
now there's a word, jilli!!
alright my duckies , time for bed & Happy Babbling !

stats for the 8s would be much appreciated
en8, en8, un8, un8
Same basic word within all.
en8/55, en8/50, un8/60, un8/55 to be precise.
thax Haz will have a good look
No problem, how's your weather today?
Good morning!
Hello, FM!
How are you today?
I'm well - and yourself?
Not too bad, we had a big thaw overnight.
That's good! We're definitely warmer although there's a bit of fog rolling in.
It got very foggy last night and there is a bit of mist around this morning. Hows the grid facing up today?
It's a nice one so far.
oh good :) I am battling with sucky duck at the moment - just not seeing the numbers today.
Don't look to me for help!
*grin*
Think I will go hunt some words instead.
You know it makes se5/10.
At last I found all the 8s thanks to you Haz, I hadn't noticed the U in the corner!!
Glad you got them, Jiving.
Some letters are sneaky.
Well, I must head off and get on with the day, so I'll bid you a fond farewell. Maybe see you later - bye for now!
*gone*
hello everybody
we had another 6-8 in of snow last night, so we're up to about 3 1/2 ft and it's extremely cold, but sunny, today
all alone in the Arctic north!
Hi Ruby I live near Oxford England and we are fairly free of snow, but my elderly brother who lives in Stoke is snowed in and can't open the gate to let anyone else in either.
Hi ruby, everyone
hello sally!!
we've had no mail, newspapers or cable TV since Tuesday! And more than 3 1/2 feet of snow
it's a French record; the most snow since 1957!
fortunately, a friend dug us out so we got provisions on Thursday; otherwise we'd be out of stuff
Ruby, saw looking through the chog the other day that you dare not go out because of your steps. I bought some Yaktrax last year and they are absolutely invaluable. I believe you can now get them on Amazon (they fit on your boots or shoes). I also have some Yetis I ordered from Switzerland.
my daughter's a school teacher and was releived that there wasn't too much snow as she is in the middle of rehearsals for the nativity play - then the boiler broke and with boiling water pouring out and no heating the school was closed!!
good ideas (I wouldn't expect less of you!), thanks
like crampns for mountain climbing
and naturally, no trash pickup, either.
I am very scared normally on snow and ice, but stride confidently over to the bit fat feathery birds three times a day. (grin, just stopped myself going in the PB)
sorry, bit sb big
considering we're in the mountains, you'd think they would make provisions for mail delivery at least
I'll email you the links later if you are interested.
it is very hard to feed the birds and to get the dogs to go out to poop -- I have to keep tramping down the snow and making paths for poor Max
yes, thank you
the array of birds is fabulous!
and now they come up on the deck by the kitchen, even closer than the feeder
Well wearing these I have no problems at all, the the birds really need it more than ever. Also I keep their bird bath unfrozen.
husband feeds them 3 or 4 times a day but don't they eat snow for water?
If not, I had better put our bowls for them
No, they need water to bathe in as well as drink.
big bowls, then
We use a planter, about 18 inches across and fairly shallow. We put a stone in so they can stand on that as well as the edge.
another good "sally idea"
ruby, have you heard anything about NB? There was talk in the chog the other day that something might have befallen him, but the poster was being very coy about exactly what, so we don't know if he is ill, has had an accident, or what. We hope he is all right.
have heard nothing but maybe he is having boyfriend trouble.....
what abut Sandyloo? Have you seen her?
It didn't quite sound like that.
No, nothing from Sandyloo. I had a strange email which implied that her address book had been compromised, and emailed her to tell her, but have heard nothing.
I'll try to e-mail her as well; I miss her as she is very smart and funny
this is a nice grid but at 73 words, I seem to have hit a small wall and without a stile!
We were saying the other day that there is no mechanism for telling our Babble friends if we drop off the branch or get incapacitated or what. It would never occur to my husband to post a message on Babble or anywhere else if something happened to me.
I have only started ruby, so only have 19 words!
I feel that way about FB. One of my friends died and I didn't know it for weeks but then saw all kinds of memorials on his page...Very sad.
I think there is a service available that notifies everybody in your address book. I'll ask my techie son about it; he would certainly know
Oh that is sad ruby. Mind you a friend of mine had a new grandchild and had her mobile switched off, so only knew about it on FB!
that's actually funny....
In your address book, yes, and I think my husband would certainly send an email. I suppose someone like you (who is in my address book) could put a notice on Babble!
happily, the (not-very-good) Italian restaurant in the village is open. My husband wouldn't have a clue how to do it
he is not exactly adept at computer stuff, barely takes care of credit cards and bank that way
Oh well, we'll just have to live for ever!
I'm trying!
did I tell you that we didn't go to Lausanne after all? And did you like the silly joke?
aah, I have to go make him his Campari
Lausanne for the eye appointment? Yes, you told me it was cancelled/postponed. And sorry, yes I did like the silly joke and should have told you.
See you later then.
sometimes it all feels like a cyber-void out there, especially when one is snowed in!
{{sally}}
Just found the 8s all by myself. (Proud). No-one to share it with, but never mind.
yay Sally!
Someone woke up!
Hi FM.
Good morning :)
I take it no news of NB?
'fraid not.
I see one of Peter Pan's enemies is in the grid.
lol I haven't even started yet and I can't stay to chat as I have to get some things done :( Might see you later.
Just got to half way, but a fairly small grid really. Yes, see you later if poss.
Hello. Anybody out there?
Hi Soodle! Just monkeying my last word.
Oh, well done, Sally. It seems to be a friendly little grid.
Yes it is, my last word was not a weird one, just an invisible one!
Ah yes. The invisible words. I am very familiar with them!
I don't think there is a single word that I haven't either used normally or come across in Babble before. Some rather odd past tenses, but that's normal!
The 8s were particularly easy to find, which was nice.
Oh goody. I have 45 left, which I will leave for later. Sally, I haven't heard a word from NB either, and I am a little bit concerned.
Is he someone you have contact with on FM, MSN or email or whatever, away from Babble?
Sorry, not taking FM's name in vain! That should be FB.
Well, thats the thing. I was connected with him on Yahoo, but either he blocked me, or I blocked myself, unwittingly. Either way, I can't contact him. Its a bit worrisome.
I do know that the original message was posted by JC to another Babbler, along the lines of have you heard the awful news (paraphrasing here) and it was obvious it was about NB. I know JC has had some issues with some other Babblers, but I don't think NB has, and if he (NB) is ill, or worse, I can't imagine why it is so secret!
Unfortunately I don't particularly have contact with NB's contacts, if you know what I mean. Just concerned for a fellow Babbler, not just curious. Can't see why there just can't be a simple message to say he is ill, no details needed.
I know NB is an extremely private person, for all his chatter on Babble. JC is a very good friend of his, and is very protecive of him. But I agree - I think everybody here is very fond of NB, and wish him nothing but the best.
NB strikes me as very young and vulnerable, but very sweet natured.
Soodle Hi. I just wanted to say sorry to hear about your pup
Oh thank you, Herin. We are still grieving here.....It was a dreadful thing to happen.
Yes, indeed Soodle. I was very sorry too.
Thanks Sally.
I also have heard no word as to whether NB is safe or what ever. I am not interested in the details. Just want to know if he is safe
Maybe if NB or any of his friends read through the chat log, they might just pass ou our very best wishes to him.
Seconded Soodle.
Soddle my pets are very dear to me and they received the cuddles for you
Thanks Herin. Buster was the most exuberant (sp?) little dog I ever met. He was just so full of life and fun, it is still impossible to take in that he was taken so quickly from us.
I must be off to do some other things. Do you need any clues?
I have no idea what happened to Buster only he is not here now
Not yet, thanks Sally. You have a good day.
Thanks Sally.
On a funny note I got high as a kite of a cold pill today. I entertained myself for hours laughing at nothing
Herin, we have about 3 feet of snow here. I was standing out at our gate, watching the cars crawling by, when a maniac in a pick-up sped up the road. Just at the wrong time, poor little Buster ran out onto the road. It was awful. I am just grateful that it was instant.
Gawd! I could do with a couple of those pills, Herin. I could use a good laugh right now!
*gone* then, bye all for now.
Bye Sal.
O Soodle. THat is terrible. I am glad that you were not hit though
Herin - thank you. I better go now, and get stuff done. Take care ((Herin))
Soodle in most people Pseudoephedrine has a slowing down effect as I have ADHD tendencies it leaves me giggling
hi all

I have laryngitis so I can't chog much.
When someone has gone without being served food, grant.
hmmm, not seeing it
use the u near the top
oops got it, thanks
:(
password change today. requires a lot of testing. only happens twice a year, but always on a weekend so as not to interfere with everyones work. course, it makes for a dull holiday-season saturday!
You're going to let the logic of my laryngitis remark go unchallenged?
try me kap
I said I couldn't chog much because I have laryngitis.
:D
cute
i went back to read the chog and just found it
sorry phone interrupted me.
*makes kap a cup of hot tea with lemon and honey*
hi FM!
OK, lame, but whatever. Don't expect brilliance from laryngitic fingers.
Thanks fr the tea.
hey je, talk to you later. i am leaving for NJ anon. you do have my cell?
Hey jmc and TO et al.
lol that assumes we expect brilliance from your fingers at all!
I do TO I even put it in my cell phone

safe journey TO.
well not sure if staying overnight, but will be able to tlalk tomorrow or late
hope your pa is doing better
th, fm! i will take the laptop. seems there is a hot spot near the house! :D
yes, the new xray showed pneumonia shrinking. perhaps having breathing difficulty was good inthis case, because some folks would have walked around with it for a while and it would have been more entrenched - if that makes se5.
How many words today?
133
Thanks.
that is good news TO, may he continue to improve! 133 words today.
*poof*
bye TO
good morning from the snowbound north:)
hi crossy
I am describing babbleland to my friend

((FM))
lol good luck jmc
was thinking same thing;)
it is a struggle
a cross tween scrabble and boggle populated by the worlds most interesting and ecclectic poeple;)))
"imagines the conversation" well there is this grid and you find words but then there is a chat log with people from all over the world ... of I did I remember to say you ahve to find words?
who cannot spell:)
*glosses over the typo issues*
it helps not to be able to spell
spelling has always been optional
Oh dear me, there is a wedding on at the church and there is now on the gound and it is pouring with rain and the bride is wearing a strapless number. It is also v gloomy - hope they have a lovely day!
*snow not now.
the heat from the groom should keep things ambient;)
and the bridesmaids seem to be dressed in black?!
gotta take my guest to the local 24 hour diner for breakfast bbl
black is the in color for weddings unless it is red
baffles me
*poof*
TTFN jmc.
clue for the second me4/6
nm got it
bridesmaids in black...a goth wedding?
Don't think so crossy as the bride was in traditional white, but according to jmc black is 'in'!
How much snow did ya get cross?
When my niece was married her colors were black and white.
lookin....
i would say just over a foot
There is a lot of it about, ruby is up to 3 1/2 feet now worst falls since 1957 for her aprea aparently.
another 20-40 cm for tonight
wow
black and white can look very elegant if done well but It just se4s unusual.
so if we get 40cm more tonight that is just over another foot add that to what we have now and we will be catching up with ruby
black and white is fine...for a ballroom
good sledding, hello everyone
howdy annie
hi crossy
The son of a neighbour was out today diging out the remaining snow and ice in our close and I for one am so very grateful for his efforts.
Hi Annie!
black and white weddings have been around for a while now.
Hi FM, are you snowed in too. You, crossy, ruby, who else?
I actually managed to take the car out today, was glad to give it a run around and then spent 1/2 an hour queuing at the checkout in a big supermarket. The staff were going up and down the isles and handing out chocolates to everyone.
How nice is that? I would love to see that here..dont think it would happen.
morning all! no snow in dc
Soodle is snowed in, Ata too I think. I am clear today but when it freezes tonight that will be a different issue.
annie -- no snow here, but im at the office... is that better or worse?
Ata better be careful re: her knee
i see we shall be ready for our FAH 100,000 certificate soon jmc;))

Hi Molly, You had a productive morning

Im an early shopper too.
howdy molly
It was just my son and I and two other families at the Christmas tree lot. We could look, pick and choose without feeling crowded.

It is my dream to someday be like her Cross.
i find it a tad bizzare
Another idea I have had, but never done, is to buy one Christmas gift per month during the year. Sort of spread it out.

tonight is "crossy's eve" -- 5 years!! I've been thinking about you all day!
Thanks!
YW

"Crossy's Eve"????
hello molly! Crossy is 5 years healthy!!!!!
yay and hoo hah for crossy
tomorrow will be five years to th day that i beat my first cancer;))
Oh! Big cause for celebration!! I'll drink to that!
I am raising a glass and will raise another tomorrow.....
crossy pours out the champers..mumms extra dry;))
have to go and serve the folks....see you a little later
pop that champers!
hurry back soon, ill save you a bottle
{{crossy}}
just tuning in...what bottle? oooh...sounds refreshing!
A few months ago, I decided to always have a bottle of champagne chilled. I figure that lets The Universe know I'm ready to celebrate.
You are a GENIUS, Molly!
nothing like a nice glass of champers before bed..crossy pours for champ
ty.....*sip*....ah...lovely!
everyone must have at least 3 glasses cause as you know you cannot put those silly corks back in once they are out
armtwist...
they flare out too wide at the bottom,so alas must use it all
putting half a bottle of champers back in the fridge is too strange anyways, kind of like putting half a pound of bacon back in the fridge
:)
I'm with you...once you open a bottle, you FINISH the bottle! Esp if sharing with friends...
but of course
always wanted to go to a party where they have one of those champagne fountains set up
People actually re-cork champagne and save half a bottle? *Molly feels woozy at the very thought*
Look, you can buy your own fountain...http://www.sweetfountains.c om/sales/catalog/Home_Use_Lighted_Punc h_Fountain-p-16275.html
Molly, I did find something that re-corks champagne. Bought it for my mom, as she lives alone but enjoys Prosecco.
you can buy nice stoppers that hold the pressure in for weeks
generally they have a rubber flange and wings to clip on the end of the bottle..those are the safest.. due to the pressure
Just noticed that there are no a's...very happy about that!
champagne... wait, people actually *drink* that stuff? o.0
(morning all... :o) )
morning
only for breakfast dfm
my headacheyness is gone! ^.^
nothing finer that tea, some fresh fruit, some english muffies with butter and marmalade and a chilled magnum of champers at dawn;)
then a nice shower for 2 and it is time to face the day:)
okay, crossy, NOW you've done it... going to the store to buy a pack of english muffins now... but I think I'll skip on the champagne.

68/65 and I'll BBL. I am going to the wake for my beloved 8th grade history teacher. I ended up being the pediatrician for 7 of his grandkids. Who would have guessed that in '73?
Interpret that probably in base 36...
Oh, Kaplan, save yourself the time and don't be stubborn.
I didn't guess anything in '73.
I didn't exist in '73 Do:

Why not?
The List is evil!
For a lousy 8 words I'll tempt the devil

gave up and listed for last 10. much easier, fireworks :)
Soodle, I found a nice Celtic/Pagan tree blessing and blessed the tree once it was up in the stand.
Yay LeslieAnn!!
Oh lovely, Molly. May your tree bring loads of happiness and good fortune to you and yours.
All my Christmas stuff is up in my dark and scary attic. I don't 'do' attics, so I am going to have to wait for my son to come home,to get all my stuff.
And that is this day two weeks. We will be living in The Grinches house till then....
even when my mom and sis were here last CHristmas holiday, I didn't have a tree...too much work... and Joey will think he can pee on it...
congrats LA!
I am going to watch a movie or eight now...!

it's that time of year when things seem to go sideways :(
bbl
Trif is having a tough time right now. She will be fine, it will just take some time and lots of hugs!
*Extra hugs and sparkly white friend light to Trif*
I really hate people today
present company excluded of course
unless u were one of the idiots at the stores i went to today lol
fireworks for me - been lurking about a bit
wtg kaz
Cos, I have such low tolerance for mindless people in stores. That's why I mainly shop on line, or at the early sales.
wal-mart (i rarely go there except for my rx's.) had huge displays in the middle of the aisles so as crowded as the store was the displays made it worse.. narrow walking space and even narrower if you have a cart.. and there was this couple who had their arms over each other while pushing their cart single handedly
and then i went to the local thrift store and i used my coupon she said this coupn isnt valid..im like "YOU GAVE THIS TO ME LAST WEEK. YOU."
she said "Oh no. you're lying"
so i ripped up my membership card in front of her and dumped everything in my cart (100 worth) on her counter.. and walked out.
then the grocey store had a sale on caser's dog food.. original price- 1.00 each.. sale price? 32 cents each.. the aisle was packed with dumb people shoving each other.
days like this makes me understand why some people hate christmas lol
im done :)
Our K-Mart is the same way. Barely any room to get your cart around the store. What's up with that. My biggest problem with shopping anywhere are people who feel the need to bring four kids shopping with them.
and letting them run amock
...and we're going to the National Championship!!!!
(sorry....hi all)
btw: I avoid shopping between Nov 1 and Jan 1...except for groceries...
yeah im doing the rest online! :)
My goal is to have it all done by Nov 1
ok...back to the post-show...will return shortly to finish the grid
wow this is a first.. i got all 7 words without list or clues
Cos is running the grid!!
also found all but 1 T word
T's done!
Hello All....
I have more fun getting the tree, the holiday spirits/booze, and the roast beast, than I do buying gifts.
I had to go to Target twice today for casserole ingredients, I picked an extra bag of dog food....
yes me too.. so il just do the rest online.. i only have 1 person left anyway and thats ryan *groan* hes the hardest to buy for
Boy and I are making an early run to Target tomorrow and I hope that is the last of my "in store" shopping.
I have to buy my mom her galvanized bucket. such a not exciting gift, but she wants it.
Molly, I still have my candle up....I wonder if I am alright. ;)
time to list. i gotta get this done. with the day ive had im going out to get plastered (dont worry. im taking a cab)
What is a galvanized bucket for? Red, get that annoying candle down RIGHT NOW!!!!!!
hmm, this is the fourth time in as many days that I've opened Babble and the first chog message I see is red entering :o/ Coincidence?
Oh Molly, I shall rush off. I rather liked this one.
My Parents have a farm of sorts, so lots of needs for buckets etc.
im 1/2 way done anyway
it is the first time I have been here all day dfm...I dunno.
I suppose I could change the icon...
dfm, how are you? (Hopes df is not avoiding red, or anyone else...)
Good for you for taking a cab Cos.
(by the way, hi all :o) ) I'm fine, I guess... definitely not avoiding you, you don't ne4 to worry about that!
Red that is cool that your folks have a farm. What kind?
right now nothing there, they occasionally put out Hay in the fields. they are of course aging and not farmers (retired Professor and librarian...) so they have trees, hay, an old mill...
clue for the en6 please?
en6/24 + p.t. en8/55 + pres. en8/50 catch (in a net)
was that in english? lol
:)
no, it was Helian.
ahh figures! ok i thik thats good ill give it a try
found it
yay, cos actually understood one of *my* clues! :oO
it took me a while :) but it workd so ty
How is everyone doing in the cold? We are not warm here either...
it's not cold enough here, any precipitation liquefies during the day and solidifies during the night, and we have so much ice... :o(
I'm liking our temperatures here. Cold enough in the morning to feel like Winter, warmer in the afternoon. No snow, no freaking ice. Dear Lord, let it stay that way.
wishing the temperature could make up its mind and go one way or the other...
i had a lot of issue with the 38-40 degrees this morning,...
its snowing in NC, quite a bit, so I figured it would be everywhere, but I guess not!!
Ooo, must see if my sister has snow. She loves snow.
<-- just figured out what NC is >.>
oooh sorry dfm, will spell things out for Northern Neighbors...
I still don't understand that mess on the highway in Buffalo. Aren't they geared up like ten for snow?
lake effect snows are different
even prepared, you can never truly predict when and how much you will get
hi jeff. Lake effect snow is different, I went to school in rochester.
they used to plow 2-3 times a day on my street.
the last de 5 please?
rochester, ny? I
or rochester, minn?
Rochester NY.
ii lived there for 2 years
gorgeous town. but the snow storms.. sheesh!
I enjoyed it there, but do not miss the cold. I can not believe I actually lived in it..
a lot of my friends went to RIT so i moved there to be closer to them lol
I went to the U of R, but we had RIT friends..
ive found both schools to have great people
very welcoming city
hello Babblers - just coming for first time today - is it worth starting???

Avoid doing Calculus, too!
lol
hagn all!
goodnight cosdem
hello, babblers - red are you still here?
hi JBV :o)
hi dfm -
hello jbv
hi Riverdance
Hello JBV, how are you doing? I hope you still have folks rallying around, lending you support.
thanks, Molly - but you know what? I'm kind of glad they all left (today) - I needed a moment or two of quiet time - it was great while they were here but it was a constant hubbub and that's not my style, I'm really OK
and thank you so much for asking
JBV I don't know if you heard my condolences or not so once again BIG SQUISHY HUGS.
Ihave not heard what is going on with you JBV but wish you the best
I understand JBV. There are parts of all this that you need to deal with on your own. Just be very gentle with yourself as you work through it. And never hesitate to reach out when you need someone.
oh, herin, thank you so much - I really love hearing that
River, we just buried my husband yesterday, still dealing with that new reality
oh JBV - so sorry to hear that - ((HUGS)) and comfort through all this
hugs and good thoughts for you during this tough time river.
sorry I meant that for JBV
we do have a good network of support and that is priceless - I have enough food in the house to feed an army - fortunately my son has a good appetite :)
thank you mcurl
but hugs and good thoughts for everyone else as well;-)
good that you have him around
oh yes, we are taking turns at supporting each other - I think he needs more TLC than I do right now -
(((jbv))))
JBV, I'm glad you and your son have each other to lean on. That is a precious thing when you are wading through difficulty.
oh, hello, Doren - I guess you heard - this has not been entirely unexpected, but always a shock nevertheless
wiahing you well during this sad time, j.
JB how old is your son?
he's 26 - sometimes a boy, sometimes a man - mostly just confused right now
yes... emailed you on gmail account from last year, maybe you didn't get?
Hi Dorens :o)
oh, thanks, Doren - I haven't checked that account, will do so now.....
hello dorens
hi river, df, herin, et al
took Phoebe to the nutcracker ballet today in boston. such fun
And at that age Jb he does need all the support he can get. So do you.
Hi Dorens
oh how nice Dorens - always a great show
i am such a child myself... my favorite ballet
JBV, Condolences; it's never easy to lose someone; you and your son need each other now. Talk to each other, remember the fun times, laugh together. That will all help to keep his dad (and your husband) alive in your hearts.
but lost my cell phone there while leaving. some strange person picked it up, called my sister, but didn't seem to understand much, and hasn't called back or answered the phone since
doren, I just replied to your email...
and i lost my wallet earlier this week.. not having good karma this week oh, ok thanks j will check
a friend of mine lost a cell phone in Cape May, someone found it but she had already returned to Puerto Rico - they mailed it to her!!
I just arrived and read about your loss JBV. I am so sorry and wish the hugs and comfort we offer were not just virtual hugs. I am glad you have your son
thank you very much, Java - we cried a lot but also laughed a lot this week - we have a lot of good memories (33 years together) -
O Dorens. Opps.
ok jbv read and responded... whenever you're ready.
(((JBV))) hey all
hi stidders
thank you Bugsaw, so glad for this Babble support - you are all wonderful
and hi stidmama!
hi stid :o)
and the strange thing is that even tho it is cyberspace et al, when we share food and drinks there are no calories, but when we share feelings they are real.
hi stid. Is your eldest still alive today? he has had a bad week
(((JBV))) (yes, again) I am so glad to see you here. Just read the log...
very true, Doren
LOL yes Bugs, as far as I know. He went to a speech tournament today
good to hear it
and he is feeling VERY chastened about not calling the one day AND about leaving the laptop to be stolen the following day.
hopefully he will make it home after the tournament. intact..
he can add his laptop to my wallet and droid!
JBV, 33 years is a lot to be grateful for.
I think he'll be okay -- he used to do the debate things, but this year is doing more speech events.
so I see Doren, I hope that you will recover both of those
Stid did Stid Kid the eldest lose his things?
how was the nutcracker with the princess?
Oh, yes, absolutely, java - we had some great times
i havd just about given up on the wallet.. was cheered today when my sister said this person called her from the phone (guess hers is the last number i dialed), but now no more contact. The nutcracker was sublime... not sure if it was worth losing the droid, but it was great
can your sister call back the number she was called from?
well, phones can be replaced -- can't they track it for you?
a very emotional and sensitive 7th graderlost her grandmother this week. She spent much time in my office, telling me about her grandmther and what made her so special, and she agreed with me that she was lucky to have had her, even if not forever.
but it's annoying to be without one, I know.
it's hard to lose someone at any age
she was called from my phone... yes phones can be replaced... droids are mucho dinero, however, and I had special pictures, as well as phone numbers, etc on it
My new next door neighbours were burgled. They lost a lot of stuff. Thankfully the robbers locked their dog in a bedroom. I told her that it scares me to lose things but it frightens me more to think my cats may be hurt
the thing is that when someone was very special, when the memories are such good ones, it helps to be grateful for having had that special person, special relationship, knowing that many others never had that
I understand that herin - my dogs (labs) would let any come in the house, pet them and that are happy - take what you want but pet me before you leave
I know -- we were pricing droids last month to replace the one I am currently using. Decided to stick with this one for now! (It's the first "edition" and works fine if not so flashy)
LOL River! I had a dog like that once. Or rather, my parents did.
Labs think with their stomach
I have a UN 8 that is sort of undoing a net.... is there another U 8 and if so clue please?
I still use the verizon free phone I got years ago - frugal me wont pay for all those extra services so why get the phone
I had to swap my phones over due to one not working. I feel your frustration Dorens. I lost some important sms on there
havent listed yet so dont know what there is = 43 left and counting
I actually use the phone's data stream to get email from anywhere -- I can't get actual cell phone service at my home but we have wifi -- and away from home the cell towers stream the data. So I am ALWAYS available by email, but not always by phone! LOL
I use my cell phone to make calls. And very few of those. I have the most stripped down version there is. I shake my head when I see people milling about with their cell phones glued to their ears. They are missing so much of life.
I am down to 42 listles
or listless
since I never know where I will be, this is a way for my children or tom to always be able to reach me
I hear you Molly - my cell is for emergency calls for the most part - mostly kids for pick ups
phoebe wants to spell her name n here before i bring her upstairs to put her to sleep..
Molly I am like that. I would love to get an iphone but the costs associated with the added data is nuts
HI Phoebe
okay phoebe! *waves* go for it!
I just can't figure out why I would want to read books or watch movies on that tiny screen.
PPHOEBE
Hello Phoebe
Excellent! now sweet dreams *stern mama look*
PHOEBE
NIght Night Phoebe
good night Phoebe
even better. doren, you are SO lucky!
good night Phoebe
Herin, your icon is GORGEOUS. What a lovely picture.
Thanks Molly. That is a windows pic
Being a Pagan by nature, I am a tree lover. So I love pictures of trees. Especially pictures of trees with mist involved.
I have returned briefly. I must soon get in the bed....but. 55 left, I would like to get a few more.
YAH Hello fellow Pagan
hey red!
go red!
JBV disappeared...
hey dfm
I was waiting for dfm to make an appearance!!! how timely.
Stid, did you get the other un8 word? it just has a different ending
I just finally upgraded to a phone that texts this year, I do love it.
oh gee -- so it does! thanks bugs!
I have to go and make a cake soon AND hang out the laundry
that is a sweet icon pic today bugs!
my younger son texts constantly (so I am glad at home we have no service) -- it sure is nice to have them be "literate" -- LOL
I thot so so I am leaving it there during the holiday
I do enjoy reading in english as well...
i m sure u cn rd this 2, red!
Oh no dog is putting himself to bed in my bed...
*grin* good dog!
I have never been able to figure out the appeal of texting. I would much rather have a real conversation with someone.
I can. but I admit when I text I dont abbreviate much. I had to get the full keyboard.
There are many time Molly when talking is not so approriate. We actually text back and forth at work all the time...
I don't either -- LOL and semi-emoticons are about as textish as I like to use.
But I am a bit antisocial and have always hated the phone, it can be so interruptive.
I have a research study I found that looked at collaborative learning in high school students. Students who worked on a project in real time together in person were more often off-task than the students working collaboratively but communicating through text. pretty interesting.
I don't like phones myself...
wow. I would have thought the opposite Stid!!!
I guess it's because I'm a writer and a photographer by hobby. If I was constantly glued to a tiny screen, I would miss my inspiration.
the researchers seemed a little surprised, too! :-D
There is a time and a place for texting, and a time and a place for oral communication, and ... (you get the idea)
I would prefer to usually communicate by choclit myself... *wicked mama grin*
sings the byrds, turn turn turn... to everything...
rofl
There are a lot of variables in that study Stid. For instance, are students so engrossed in communicating by text that they have lost effective one on one communication skills?
Magic game on and with 4 stars out for a stomach virus, I must run off to encourage.
hold on, I will get you that reference. It is just one study, but generally speaking other studies demonstrate increased literacy in traditional areas when students are also literate in digital literacies.
Ok I am off for a while
Okay, that is a whole different premise. And I can see the validity in that. Increased literacy in all areas would produce a more effective person.
:-D citation in my profile Molly
not sure if you can access the article without an account...
later lady!
down to 30 words now.
I think I'll go play with lights. I got Tom involved in putting up outside lights, and now every light in the box must go up... LOL getting ready for St. Nicholas day. It's a celebration that we won't have much longer, methinks.
*micro poof*
Nope, can't access it. Interesting idea for a study though. It's almost like speculating on whether or not bi-lingual kids are more effective in certain situations than kids who only know one language.
Hi, missed the dialogue about literacy and computers. Bet mama tells me about it either on the phone or in person.
Allo Gran Mere. How was your day?
My day was quiet. I made barley soup (it almost makes itself.) Watched some of the college football games. Husband is keeping his foot up today after having an ingrown toenail worked on yesterday.
Yum to barley soup. That is so good in the cold weather. Ouch! Ingrowns hurt. I'm glad Gran Pere has had his taken care of.
Sometimes one has to tend to things because they don't repair themselves.
Comments like that are why I could sit in your kitchen, learn how to cook better and hear sage advice. Bless you Gran Mere. Stid is lucky to have you as her Mama.
MollyL you are too kind but you're welcomed to my kitchen while we both learn new things.
That would be so much fun Gran Mere. I have to go finish up my evening. Sweet dreams and blessings to Gran Pere's healing toe.
Thanks MollyL. Bye.
use the add word box please
Need Dr. God to get this troll out of here.
Dr. God's been notified
just sent a message too. thanks unea
I just did the same thing Uneaixoise. Thanks so much!
jeez
outta nowhere, eh?
I believe this is GameWrecker using a different name.
i don't understand why individuals have to be so rude
rude and stoopid
thanks to the kind babblers for notifying Dr. God for us!
The same individual did the same thing last week also.
hope dr. g gets the isp and bans it totally
really, min? Glad I missed that
must be winter break, children have nothing better to do.
yes une... and i notified then and now and it is quite familiar, as i noted this evening
hey, doren
Last week,my internet all of the sudden became slow after GameWrecker kept on wrecking the game.
hey une... just saw your latest youtube feed... those guys are funny
love them :-)
Kinsey Sicks, that is
I see there is talk of GameWrecker... did he come back, is that why my computer just crashed? :o/ (was busy in another window...)
i almost did a peri.. was about to ask for a clue, but found it first
is GW the same as poopstain?
never mind, scrollback tells me -.-
don't understand how these trolls can cause your computer to crash, but maybe so. (same MO, une)
Probably.
I don't know either, but it may have to do with the fact that I currently have 217 Firefox tabs (and 35 Chrome tabs) open... :o/
i'm bad about that too! LOL
me three
oh, and apparently one Opera window, which I am unable to find in my windows listing... :o\
People who email Dr. God. Please ask him to check about people who may be posting here under different identities. I think that is a real problem of late. Thanks.
he knows that molly, for sure
off to watch Bette Midler on Graham Norton -- BBL to finish last 5 *poof*

I was en 8/55 in the grid, but now I am saving my last word for later.I de4/6 it neccessary to do a story of clues, so here it is for those de4/6 in the grid and ne 4/5 a story. I was pe4/5 up inside all day te4/5ing to my sick husband. He se4/5ed like he was getting sick last night. Wh 4/9 he woke up this morning, he had a fever. I have never se 4/4 him look so pale. I think a virus se 6/24 into his body during the night. He is on the me 4/5 though. He wanted to drink beer tonight, but I sh5/14ed him & I told him it wasn't a good idea. He got te 5/10 about that, but then he tu 5/14 into what I was saying and he agreed. I had to fe 4/8 for myself tonight with dinner because hubby is sick and did not feel like cooking.Since I do not like to cook,it did not make se5/10 for me to cook for myself. I also was not going to go the whole evening being un 5/20 so I decided to me 4/5 my girlfriend Nellie, who has 2 te4/4age sons, for dinner. Sh4/5 my best friend. We went to The Olive Garden and I got my favorite meal on the me 4/6. Now I am going to se 4/5 hubby off to bed with some aspirin. After that I'm going to watch a Charlie Sh 5/12 movie.
