*flip*!
hello
yeah, that's the major problem with macs and linuxes -- there are not enough for people to worry about viruses. As a result, getting a virus ... really, really sucks.
DA6

night nan
night nan
sweet dreams nan!
yay 100 left!
haha pav
night nan!
how normal is this grass es word?
down to 66 and no luck yet...
very tired, very tired...
go pav go!
it's not very normal to me
but i do not deal with grass very much
has someone called the 10?
yes josh
bummer, i was going to call it
the grass is normal to anyone who plans a golf course or lawn or whatever
which I don't. okay, will go look. it's not fescue, rye grass or bermuda!
es7 (the grassy one) sounds like that 'universal language'.
ad I've > halfway...tiem for bed...
that's close, Christine. And I gave a bum steer -- on checking, I see it's used in paper making!
I think it would be considered a pest in a lawn, like crab grass.
Yes, doesn't really sound like it, but make me think of the language.
cute french plural ea in the grid
okay, thanks. *thinking*
french plural ea? o.0
ea4
oh, the cute threw me off.
heh, I haven't entered my list of Babblets... >.>
should start with that.
thanks for the french ea
o.0 wow, 44 words added from my mental babble list
but still not getting the es 7. SO.... help please?
I should be able to find the French ea but no :-(
es = a bit of something +4th vowel
I think it's plural eyes, jill
aha, just monkeyed the pa8 and 10
oooh! bore da? *grin*
it's plural water
bore da stid
es 7/32... es + role in a play + form mouth makes in exlammation...

eas
ooops
go glantarell go!
pl eyes is yeux but enable doesn't know it
Words have to be at least four letters long ;oP
hi glant
yqw

monkeying in the wrong text box
i see welsh words all the time but they are not acceptable ;-)
30 to go and I'm off to bed, goodnight all
night flosey!
oh no, don't argue they should be -- we have enough Scottish as it is! ;oP
thanks Glant for the french beach
now 29 for tomorrow
hi all
hi ruru!
what does the 10 begin with?
pa
is it a compound word?
no
is the third ps related t the other two?
don't have it yet, glant
okay got it thanks not related
are there three?
I have all three
clue?
ps + three vowells a bablet
i'll monkey!
ty - have it now - never would have got it
*throws bananas glants way*
yum!
glant is a monkey? :oO
you need bananas to monkey ..
hooray! got the pa8 and 10!
yay jilli!
i sure don't see them
are they related?
the pa8 is a term usually used in astronomy
when the apparent position of an object changes because the observer moves
and the 10 is a pl.
the apparent displacement of an observed object due to a change in the position of the observer.
close enough! I'm not a walking dictionary! ,.<
I think I'll displace myself to bed.
phant -- applause
i tried that earlier but spelt it with one l - ooops
there's a unit that is equal to about 3.25 light years, the ???sec, that is based on the pa8
tsk tsk glant!
so ty for the clue
dfm is a walking encyclopedia
its definition is literally, the distance an object will have to be for the heliocentric pa8 to be exactly 1 arcsecond
you're beginning to sound like a sm5ar4!!!
the def I posted is the one given by the ?, and there were others too.
it's bringinmg back all the sci fi i read as a teenager
It's also in the title of a fine Warren Beatty movie
heh. Han Solo also accidentally used ???sec as a unit of time :oP silly him... doing the Kessel run in 12 parsecs?!
erm. yeah. totally meant to type all the letters.
hints please for the ex5/22 that is not the plural of the ex4/10?
can't see any more -- back tomorrow -- goodnight all and *poof*
if a**lause is a word, why isn't *lause????
a former countrymate, lexi, and hi!
it is a person who has left their wn country to livr in nother ex5
because applause is a noun; the verb is applaud, or to give ("app") + laud.
clue for the ex4/10/
TY DFM - and there i was being rhetorical ;-)
I think I'll shut up now -- I'm starting to scare even me <.<
cities usually all have ex** centers
ex 4 international fair
ty dizgrannie
and pl
unbelievably I had the ex6 which contains both
I always miss singulars, glant ;o)
missing two last s5s... any nudges?
okay, one now
do you have the one which refers to wood?
phantom spear
wood?
just checked the dictionary and apparently it is exfoliating rock - i thought it was wood
the sp5/12?
yes
and its plural
or verb
yeah, I have that one.
this is (will be) my last word...
do you have the 5/14 digging tool?
yep
and the Scottish word
scottish word?
I have s5s: sa sa sa se sl sm sp sp sp sp sw sw
yeah, p.p. of to predict.
so 5
a horseman in india
looks like DFM has gone.
oh sorry, I was distracted. thanks diz, glant :o)
did ya get it??
I think parallex sounds like a good word -- Enable disagrees
swap the last e for an a
then plural with 2 more letters
oh bosh -- I knew it sounded almost right, but didn't try that last t
yeah diz, I got it at around 0206. ;o)
have come to a standstill with 48 left

those 2 se 6/36 made me smile.
houseguest is gone, now I have some time to myself!
and I'm jumping in
go for it, Ruby
I'm trying to do it letter-by-letter instead of my usual jumping around. No discipline here
so much for that! can't resist jumping around....bad ruby
LOL Ruby, I just jump in and type...tried doing word for word to get NBT and found I kept missing plurals or singulars.
wow, quick 50! now I'll probably slow to a crawl!
W's finally Wiped

it's almost time for an apero, diz
nah Ruby, I just plod along, but keep me eye out on the chog....sometimes I actually help peeps out.
apero???
pre-meal cocktail - usually Campari for him and whatever for me. And Sunday lunch out!
<.< you beat me yesterday though, ruby!
(French slang) - I speak sort of "street French"
impossible, dfm, you must be hallucinating
had a couple of wines this arvo after g/kids left

but if it wasn't yesterday then it was definitely the day before!
I don't remember, lol!
old Ruby
pots of phantoms having to do with spuds!
lots*
any hints for the 8's or the 10?
pa8 is the apparent shift in position of an object as a result of the movement of the observer
pa 8/10
pa10 is the plural
a ???sec is a unit defined to be the amount for the heliocentric pa8 to be exactly one arcsecond.
wel,, that's an easy clue raofl!
aah, the movie!!!
ex 7/8
OMG, what would I do without movies
thank you both
yaay ruby got my clue!!! *hugs*
Warren Beatty being paranoid -- and for very good reasons!!!!
my life is movies and dogs
I had better go and check on husband, who went back to bed after breakfast.....
see you later
bye {{ruby}}!
{{big hugs for diz and dfm}} who both helped me
Rubyfoo --- how is your husband, and the ;awsuit?
hello Christine. The man was found guilty and had to pay the court 450 euros. The dog was not put down. We were awarded less than half of what the lawyer asked for and havent't seen a dime!
*lawsuit (obviously)
a new oxymoron, French justice!
thanks for asking
now, husband has to be seen by a court-appointed doctor, for which we had to pay 425euros, up front! to see if we can sue for damages!
It's disgusting, and husband is really suffering from where the dog took him down.
It's disgusting, and husband is really suffering from where the dog took him down.
aside from that, everything is peachy HO HO HO
Almost unbelievable -- but I know these things happen -- been there.
back, I just checked on husband. He's been sleeping since breakfast...scary!
the dog-owner was very well-connected locally, old family name and all that!
i need one me4 - i have the food one and the mix/meddle one

Morning ladies.....
morning flask
it is snowing now, but we have only about 4mm over the few days..lol....very cold though.
Hello, Flask, and i am male by the way..LOL
There is snow falling here and am in the Scottish Borders!
there is a low pressure system moving up the channel with associated weather front - hence the snow - y son had some in plymouth
you got a different lot Flask
Hey Zooz...please forgive me...I been away for a while.....Good morning to you kind sir!!!
I think it will turn to rain soon, it normally does.
Thats ok, Flask..i have been called worse in my time :-)

Mmmm....pleaase pardon my ignorance, but where is Chard?
Somerset, Flask.
somerset
Thankyou!.....Now I know!
first began as a Saxon settlement.
So is it just a wee place?
http://www.localhistories.org/chard.ht ml
about 10,000 of us live here. the wetherspoons is named after the saxon - Cerdic
its the highest town in Somerset and is the home of powered flight - Stringfellow developed a steam powered flying machine - before the wright brothers
Ok bath water is ready, nice to see you both..will be back later :-)
have a good soak see you later
have fun Zooz!
I'm in Oxfordshire and it has stopped snowing now thank goodness. My granddaughter couldn't get home last night and had to stay with a friend. My daughter can't get out of the village and my husband slip into a bollard - very cold too.
Morning all
Morning Mitch and Jenny!
Jenny it sounds dreadful
morning fm. Hope you are all okay Jenny
Morning everyone
Just hope it clears in time to collect Christmas food!!
Just got off the phone with my Mum had a nice long chat and then we discussed contingency plans for the 25th and I had to say that if I am not able to get to them it would not be the end of the world.
Which is true Mitch!
My family only live about 3 miles away, so should be O.K. but they will expect to be fed!
I think a lot of folk will be saying that this year....
I did point out that I have only not spent christmas with them twice in my whole life.
Good morning everyone. Should be making my Christmas cake today, but thought I would just have a quick look at Babble with my coffee!
Greetings Sally!
Morning Sally!
we are having lunch up the road with our friends but we were supposed to be going to see my family yesterday so now we are hoping we will be able to sometime next week
We are staying put, provided we can fetch the turkey from the farm. If not I have the precaution of a joint in the freezer!
then on sunday we are going to N Wales provided the roads are open
I was invited to a client's annual bash at lunchtime today but had to pull out, I suspect it will have been cancelled anyway.
oh good luck Kazzer
Any clues for the 10 please?
There's a 10? Looks at grid.
As are a lot of things!
it is a pl of the 8 if you have that pa8/70 & 10/112
no idea flask know it comes between two if the ps i have but thats all
Kazzer did you watch part 2 of Strictly and were you disappointed?
ok thanx anyway!
I thought it was fabulous!!
It was great entertainment for a Saturday night.
Did you agree with the result?
i watched and though i wanted Matt to win, i was enjoyed the show - though the judges got on my nerves a bit
i thought was much better than they were making out
oops should have put Matt in there somewhere
You are right about the judges they seemed a bit all over the place. I was behind Pamela but Kara was my 2nd choice.
Wonder if the relationship wil develop further now betwenn the 2 of them?
It would be nice if they did....
got the 10 - plural of pa 8 which is a way of looking at things - apparent diplacement of an object viewed along 2 lines of site
oops sight
ty kazzer, wasn't looking in that direction!
got them now too...thanks!
It's a fun grid so far (famous last words)!
i have been chatting a lot but i've only got 44 left
I blame my long phone call with Mum for the 73 I still have left to find :)
Good morning all....
Morning Cait....
Cait!! Good to see you.
BRB
Are you all snow bound?
mornign Caitlin
Morning Kazz
And FM and Flask lol
yes, how is it where you are?
Thick and icy I havent been out since Thursday but hubby is managing
yay for hubby!
I might don my wellies in a while and see if I can walk down into the village to the local supermarket.
We have a good supply of booze and food so we can manage for a few days wondering how I can get kiddies presents to them if this continues though.
i might go for a wander after lunch - just sandwiches today with something cooked later
Are the roads clear where you are Kazz?
good morning my dear babble friends
Is the village far from you FM?
Morning Tri
No I live right in the heart of it so from my house to supermarket is about 5 mins.
caitlyn, I respectfully submit that the best present your grandkiddies could ever want is healthy grandparents. please drive carefully!
Morning Trif.
Morning Trif!
Sorry, was away from keyboard. Can I once again put in a plug for the wonderful YakTrax which you fasten to the bottom of your shoes or boots and which enable you to walk around on snow and ice without slipping. They have changed my life.
good morning fm!
Thank you Tri, can get the car out of the street though anyway, we live at the top of a very steep hill
I can vouch for yax trax as well. gave them to the ex a few years ago, and they are wonderful, and very long lasting
ok guys i have looked and looked but cant get that pa8 that turns into the pa 10 can i have a laymans clue or the third letter maybe?? PLEASE
Funny Sally I was thinking of you and YakTrax this morning and thinking I will order some 'cos who know what Jan/Feb are going to be like.
If you are in the centre of the village FM, you must be fairly close to my niece who lives in Coombe Hill. Small world.
no not really and good morning Trif - people are still driving on it though - it got down to minus 12 C/10f last night
Sally - would like to swap email addresses with you if that's OK?
Oh I will have to look on the map to see where Coombe Hill is.
That would be great FM. The one in my profile will reach me and then I'll give you my "real" one!
Crystalle...Par-----
OK brill, will fire one over to you in a bit.
thinking of a clue crystal but not sure how to
Coombe Hill is right behind the main street, sort of behind Budgens if I remember. There is an alleyway to it from the high street.
ty flask
yw
Just going to watch the farming forecast back in a mo
For the pa, think of an 8-letter word which means two lines which run at the same distance from each other, but change the last two letters to include a high-scoring letter.
Oh for heavens sakes Sally that is v close as I am near St Marys Church which is the one on the hill with the tall spire.
TY everyone for the clues.. i have them now
More snow this week
good for you.....;)
Can't place the church offhand but will look it up. And my stepdaughter (like my real daughter really) lives in Cranham Avenue, which is south of the village.
oh dear Cait :(
Do you ever come down and visit them Sally?
Next time I visit them, put the kettle on :-)
LOL great minds!

It will spoil your lunch zooz
This is true, Caitlyn..but i am watching a christmas cooking programme, and it is tempting me..lol
That's something I don't make zooz, I'm OK but not brilliant with pastry and I don't particularly like them. Making cake for husband who adores rich fruit cake but very bad for him. This is a treat and it's lovely to be able to offer to visitors.

:) However, I've been keeping an eye on you (well, many of the Old Ones via chat log. I hope you are doing well. I am well and blessed, sprite. For wintertime, I'm feeling a lot of light this year --- within and without.
hi kids, the ax variation on car part is an ice skating move
Nipped back to say that I do sometimes get up in the middle of the night - frozen I might add, and play Babble until it's too cold to keep going!
that is wonderful, ch1212! Great to see all the work on the 'inner self' pays off. Same here, doing well and so far free from the winter depression. Everything being snow-covered helps, grin, it is SO white!
hi JBV!
hi sprite - I've been seeing pictures of the snow in Europe on the news - is it so unusual for this time of year? or just too much of it?
JBV, I tried cluing the ax as a skating move once. I had no idea how many people think it's spelled the same as the car part.
But, I'm in good company as none of you lovely lot can possibly still be sane. Literate, but nuts!
they showed people stuck in their cars in Italy - the highway people were bringing them food!
Ditto :) and now I'm diving back into the grid -- hugs to you! *poof*
until last year we had a streak of warm (and wet) winters. Last year and this year are much more like the old times. Snow is not unusual in winter, but the amounts in such a short time are.
*hugs ch1212*
we've been lucky - no snow so far here (New Jersey), but since I am no longer working I don't even have to worry about shoveling out the driveway :)
No snow in Jersey? Wow. I guess it's snowed all around you then.
*hugs JBV*
hi all
hi jmc!
{{{hugs back, Sprite}}}
:D
we're near the coast Molly, so snow often turns to rain here
Ah the Jersey shore. I spent some happy days in Stone Harbor as a child.
all this snow is a problem for everyday life, but I cannot help finding it lovely. It is so beautiful out here.
no hugs for me? :-(
awwwwww of course! *big hug for jmc!*
:-D
Morning JMC
((hugs for jmc))
hugs?
:-D
hi molly
(((you too, kje)))
hugs. *hugs for kje as well*
*stands in line for hugs
hugs all around!!
{{{great big Babble hug for all}}}
*hugs for dJean too*
*hugs everyone she can see*
(((Jean)))
: )
how is everyone?
tyty :-D
hi kje
did not mean to leave you out, jmc, it was just that I had not seen ch1212 for ages and I thought JBV needed an extra hug... just a feeling.
am good, kje, how are you today?
cold
and... I think I may have a mouse
oh sorry then to impose sprite it looked like hugs alround
I am hoping the hole just got in the bag of nuts by itself....
hi all back again after lunch - also fed the birds agai. We have a flock of goldfinches at the moment and we cant keep enough ou there for them
cold drives mice inside
arrggh. That is so not comfy. *sends kje a very soft and warm blanket, a hot toddy and a bit of sun*
hi kazz
jmc not at all, hugs are good :D
good morning everyone
hi Kazzer!
hi carlee :)
*sends kje a cat that catches mice*
hi car
have fun, kje, we had a major mouse hunt here a few weeks ago - lots of fun
Morning Carlee. Feeling any better?
mice don't like the cold either, apparently
no mouse last year... I have a bit too much nature living with me here - raccoons, geckos, and now a mouse? I need to put up a sign that says "no vacancy!"
nope...i am getting a head cold...<sigh>
no signs since my brother-in-law came over and taught me how to set bait trips, etc., never thought I'd need to learn how to be smarter than a mouse
last summer my house felt like a nature refuge every time i got rid one one pest another took its place
Rats. *Passes Carlee ginger and lemon tea*
*traps
i have 3 cats....if i had a mouse..they would deal with it i am sure
that is how I feel, jmc
head colds suck, pardon my french. Keep warm, drink lots of tea and water and freshly pressed orange juice, and sleep as much as you can.
echinatia and zinc before the cold gets hold car
thanks molls...woke up so cold...am buried under all my blankets..and...my cat is back on my ass
i had to carry the gecko outside last night - I think he had hit hypothermia on the bathroom tile - hadn't moved for hours
poor gecko
i think geckos are so darn cute
yes, he had tured a strange rusty brown color too... greeed up once I moved him
greened
my n is still sticky
*trying to imagine car babbling under covers with cat on ass*
lying on stomch..pillow under chest to prop me up a bit
ah!
Terra does the same thing, always wants to lie on top of my ample bottom
and cat curled up on my ass..."the Boo"....she a very solid..heavy cat...with a built in furnace
same with men, no? not surprising a cat goes there ; )
my cat climbs on top of my side when i lie in bed and lie on my side
( boo was the one supervising me while making the brandy balls)
hehehe true
aa
hi inge
morning...yaaaawwwwnnnnn.
cats are easier to clean up after
morning car.ee
and cats are much more independent
but less fun in bed...
morning car.ee
aa4/4, inge
yeah, much less fun in bed.
thats over rated...i think for now..i'll take the cats...
and cats stink at putting out the garbage
you mean men do that???? i never knew
true sprite..
grin, some do. I have this wonderful man that is warm, caring and always willing to help. He is also great at the overrated thing.
i believe in 20 years of marriage he did it 5 times...
i wouldn't mind having a man again--but my cat doesn't tell me how to do things
here here jmc
I am jealous, sprite ; )
does he have a brother?
good for you sprite...at least some people are able to find decent people
no need to listen to a man telling you how to do things... No am sorry, he doesn't, and if he had, you'd be standing in line, lol. My friends are jealous too. I am blessed with his love.
Damn, that's a depressing stat Carlee.
my hubby helped and was warm but is pretty useless now that he is dead ;-)
i likely exagerated...he might have put out the garbage once a year maybe twice...it wasnt often
I know there are a lot of decent people out there. But finding them isn't ea4, it is a blessing. I wish you will be blessed :)
that is a fact, jmc *hugggggggs*
well i figure i was lucky to have him even if he did leave me with crazy inlaws
that just keeps you on your toes jmc
now don't get all soppy about my hubby i would like to be able to talk about him without everyone getting maudlin
de 5/12 plese have 2 of them
for me, having known good people is a lucky thing. They leave something in the heart that will never die, something to cherish. But God it is tough to miss them.
no maudling happening here jmc...
pa8?
not sure, am I maudling?
ty car i appreciate it -- it has been a source of frustration to me that if time i mention hubby i tend to kill the chat
don't have it yet, kje
well maybe maudlin is not quite the right word sprite -- sorry
don't mean to be rude
I love it when you talk about your hubby, jmc. And I won't stop chatting either when you do.
*tries to pull foot out of mouth*
*tries to pull foot out of mouth*
you are not rude at all
you ca talk whenever you wat, jmc..
morning everyone
good afternoon ((Sprite))
morning Mom!
ty i appreciate it as he was a special guy
Hi mom!
well...between you and I JMC...( cant speak for anyone else) i am pretty matter of fact about a person once they are gone....if they are in the process of being gone ( as in the case of my father atm) that is what is heart wrenching for me...
hi mom
hello all

Hi JMC
Mom, did you watch "What Not to Wear on Fri?

looks like it, carlee, grinnnn. Nimble... wrong word? Elastic?
well it will be moving to Tuesday night starting next week I think, Mom
( foot made it to you mouth there...pretty darn flexible i would say )

es 7/32 - es + role in a play + vowel
me too car.ee
as for me, I have deep respect and empathy for mourning processes, knowing they take years. But I like talking about people who died, because they have a place with us. Not talking about them would make them so much deader (hey isn't that a babble word, hah!)
bye bye Carlee
ty kje, nbt for me
thanks kje
its a dried fruit mixture with suet and rum/ brandy which u make pies and tarts out of
Wow! TY KJE!

All this talk of mince here has just about convinced me to make mince custard pie for Christmas. Or rum raisin.

ye 4 are fish? I thought they were trees.
oooh..have fun...give trifs a hug
have a good day Car.
ohhhhh please hug Trif from me, car.ee!
say hello to Trif
a fish is an easy word or are you teasing me molly?
thanks kje *thinking*
I will everyone!
pa8 - start of running side-by-side + ends in chopping tool
thanks for the es and the y words
bye car give trif a hud from me too
sorry - the n's fell out
peri.... mincemeat is a very strong flav....and who is thinking of the pie?...another nice way to balance the strong flavour is a plain cheesecake ( baked) and just put a ring of mince on the cheesecake to decorate ( not to cover whole cake )
No JMC, just being very, very dim. Off for more coffee.
BYe!
and the pas word as well
byebye car.ee
babble fish are words you should have found without help, but didn't, because sometimes you just go blind. Words that, after having been clued and found, make you hit yourself over the head with a fish.
okay i am off to Meeting to make presents for the homeless--2500 this year
bye jmc, have a good time and lots of endurance :)
enjoy, jmc
oh JMC, what a wonderful person you are.

*Putting out extra ham and pancakes for Mom*
sa 6/21 greek plural of sa 5/12 - think it means mouthparts of some insects
sa + consonant + not ma, then latin plural for sa6/21
drooling***
s + swiss mountains + first vowel + 2nd vowel
am grand thanx.......we've only had a light covering so far this weekend....
thanks Dan and Kazzer
whew...nbt/nbs in 24 words
a light covering is all it takes, grin. Better even!
*carlee is such a show off** :-)
:op~~~~~~
I swear, this pancake mix recipe I found makes the lightest, fluffiest pancakes. I will never buy Bisquick again.
I need 58 more words and the real biggies are all among them!
I have nbt-what is nbs?
what is the recipe, Molly?
no blank stats, hello Kaplan
kaps...did u listen to any of the radio shows?
hi kaps :)
And that is where? I thought that was tile stats.
4 cups flour ¼ cup sugar ½ cup buttermilk powder 4 tsp baking powder 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt Add a cup of milk and one egg to each cup of mix.
forthe 10, plural the pa 8
word stats, Kaplan
I keep it in the fridge, since the buttermilk powder says "Refrigerate after opening".
there is such a thing as buttermilk powder????
wow that sounds good! Not sure though if we have buttermilk powder here.
Duh. I don't have the 8 and the 10. what are the stats for them?
Right there in the baking aisle. New to me too.
pa 8/70 and pa 10/112
don't have them yet, sorry
I saw buttermilk powder for the first time on Friday
i have never seen buttermilk powder...but if not..i bet you could sub buttermilk for the milk and it would work
Well, it's a dry mix. Sprite, maybe you can order the buttermilk powder on line, if you don't see it at your grocery store.
good idea, Molly, thanks!
pa10 is plural of the 8... someone not so fully trained in the law is a pa***egal+ being *ate to file your t**** is very bad
oh wow, great words, thank you!
( or..mix all the ingredients except the butter milk powder..then instead of 1 cup milk use buttermilk??? )
www.sacofoods.com for the buttermilk
Okay cat people. I have a question. My son and girlie-in-laws cat has been missing for over a week. What are the chances of her showing up okay?
might have to add more then 1 cup...cus would be too viscous
Sid Viscous? Wasn't he a Sex Pistol?
ex 7/52 and ex for the plural
ex 5/22 + ** Roker and plural
depends molls...with cats you never know..slim to nil..but my sis in laws cat got locked in a shed in neighbours yard for winter..and survived...
loolllll I just found some... as fodder for cattle!
Molly, I am so sorry their cat is missing
My son is okay about it, accepting. Girlie is inconsolable and it's putting a huge dent in their Christmas spirit.
hey hootowl! Thanks, checking it out now.
it would drive me nuts...mind my cats are indoor cats...so i always know where they are
yes, they should definitely go to sheds, anytplace cat may be locked up. ours was in neighboring commerical establishment's basement.
with cats you just never know. They are incredibly resilient. But no match for a car or something like that.
Hi Hoot
((Owl)) good morning
i'm afraid i would be right up there with the girlie...my cats are so much a part of this family....and for me right now with all am going through..a comfort to me
She was an indoor cat too, which makes me concerned about her survival in the wild. Those kids have done every single thing they can think of to find the cat. There are posters up all over town.
((((mom)))) hi all
Molly, she might have been taken in by another family
humane society???
hi mom
They put her litter box outside too. Mom, we've thought of that. I'm hoping if that's the case, the posters will bring her home.
we have kijiji up here...not sure if you do there....check postings there
They have called the humane society and every vet in town.
Wasn't sure you saw it sprite. The markets that carry it tend to hide it
how did she get out?
hi TOwl and everyone else I might have missed
hello spritey! nice to see you!
and you :)
hi there TO
it seems that buttermilk powder is used mostly for cattle here. How totally odd.
Hmm, craigslist is an idea. Girlie let her out by accident. She's got a big case of the guilties.
Molly - was she in heat? was it she?
molls..i am really sorry about the cat... i would be brokenhearted but..right now...i am unbalanced...and i know it ( for me that is...i know my perspective is off kilter...and i am not seeing things as those who are not under as much emotional stress as i am would see them)
Well make sure it doesn't have a bunch of junk in it and will probably be useable sprite
I think she has been spayed Hoot.
or...just...use buttermilk to mix it when adding the egg
ok - that's what happened when mine went AWOL
hootowl: yeah but then I have to buy bulk amounts! I will find it, no worries.
good idea, carlee, that would work fine as well.
ok
ah, King Arthur Floor sells it online
sweetie is awake .... off to breakfast ((Hugs)) to all of you Molly, thanks for the pancakes and ham to hold me over.
hello everyone
enjoy, Mom!

bye to you both
Is he on an anti-anxiety med?
have i ever mentioned that i hate ps words?
bye sprite
TY for mentioning ps words, Nan.
i think they ordered canax, but the nurse did not want to give it, tried to calm him. ever since the dose he got at first wore off, he is hand wringing and praying for recovery
Is a priest visiting?
xanax
Good morning all. Go Steelers.
visited last monday. will try to come again
Hi Bob. Go Bills.
at least 2 of them are common words
I have 3 ps words, 2 are pl
i did not htink of that, ty. maybe i should go so pastoral care
That's me, Owl, I'll be there in 7 hrs.
ty for the last one scrabs
LOL. he is anxious by nature, hate to see him doped up but it may take that
What will distract him from his medical problems? Reading? Audiobooks? TV?
i thought that was routine with cardiac partients. but then again, how can they adjust his meds to him if he is doped? would not work at all.
he does not want to do any of that. grandkid visit last night was helpful. they are so scare, poor kids.
How old are they?
16 and 15
Help them to know what to say, how to help him, and to answer their questions.
that would be fine if at this point I KNEW
they are better off than I am, they just talk about regualr stuff
I always say "the doctors and nurses are making the medical decisions" and our job is to keep ____ comfortable + happy.
ty. i have put off visiting today so he could rest.
70 left. BBL.
bye scrabs. and bye all, time to get moving

ah Haz, you are my heroine once again...t hank u
You're welcome.
po5- plural of a disease that begings with chicken, small or cow
Looking for second wo4/9. Any clue?
plural of a slang word for italians?
To rhyme with places where you buy things.
kenny chuck, that is a politically incorrect nickname for an italian person (i think)
thanks for that clue glanta :)
haz, i don't get your rhyming verse clue, and other suggestion?
anyone have the red screen from death?
glanta, that po5 sort of sounds like a flower... think of the song, Ring around the rosy, pocket full of po***
po5 - add an extra vowel into the bunch of flowers (po4)

pa6/24? my last p. i have never got so far on a grid as i have today - usually manage a third but today am down to last 50...
Have a Merry Nan!
For the Moms...my sister was married when her kids were young. (She's divorced now). But her husband was on the road all the time. So my sister basically raised her kids on her own. She was visiting my her daughter, SIL and granddaughter this weekend. After my niece handed baby girl off to Daddy for a bath, she gave my sister a big hug and said "Mom how did you do this all by yourself all these years." My sister said it was a golden moment of Motherhood.
we all do what we have to do,after my wife gave birth to our son the same night we came home, she developed a painful and dangerous blood clot from the birth and was hospitalized for a month doe to that and other compilcations,so i took care of our child alone for the first month, and brought him in every day for momma, brought bottled breast milk homes for the night feedings..lol was doing so much laundry at the start when i had a basket of clean clothes i would just toss the kid on top and carry him around that way as there was no one else to watch..will never forget that first month..now he is 17 and grunts at me...lol
That must have been a tough month Cross. Newborns are exhausting.
and i was a new dad, first kid! lool
I laugh looking back at how different I was with the first, compared to the third.
was in feb to boot, snow up to the truck bumpers and minus 20
okie kokie...back
That's what I call being thrown in the deep end. You either sink or swim.
indeed, feeding the new baby every 2 hours, driving a hour each was to hospital for mamma visits, washing poopy sleepers at 3 am...lol
sink or swim...when my ex had his accident...iw as working full time...doing guides... son in travel hockey and back and forth to london every other night to visit him in hospital...for 4 months... u do what you must....sometimes its only 1 hour at a time...
thank god no new borns...i would be on the 5th floor of our hospital still after 3 years
I did most of the child raising with my first two by myself. No regrets. Those were some of the happiest days of my life.
same...i pretty much raised mine too... he worked and supplied the cash....but was a rare sight during the raising...
how pray tell did this potic get started?
topic even
i worked my butt off during his first 14 years, would of loved more time with my boy growing up,but nothing would of happened if i did not keep the money coming in
My story about my sister.
ahhh...ok its lovely when they have a breakthrough moment when the lightbulb goes off regarding what you do for them
the stork does not bring cash along with the new bundle of joy lol
the stork does not bring cash along with the new bundle of joy lol
I don't think anyone appreciates the hard work of parenting until they become one themselves.
mm got the hiccups
they should make that a new rule crossy...no storks allowed without the cash stork....
i agree carlee;)
Nor does the stork bring an instruction booklet.
perhaps we should start a petition and get that made into law???
nope, they do not come with a users manual
if they did...who would babble :p
my wife was able to breast feed for 2 month then we had to go to bottles and formulae..15 dollars a can at that time!!
i was able to nurse throughout... yay....and made own babyfood...
I did not breast feed my kids because I am an organic Earth Mother. I breast fed them because of the price of formula.
indeed, that stuff almost broke us molly
enfelac and similac
same... at that time we were on welfare...i was managing groceries for 3 ( including diapers) with 50.00 a week
and 120 newborn diapers a week
I'm laughing remembering a women's discussion board I used to post on. The bottle feeders used to get VERY defensive when the subject of breast feeding came up.
that was during the recession in the early 90's and all the plants laid off in town.... husband worked anywhere he could but nothing
Cross??? Your kid was going through 17 diapers a day???
was a lot molly
prolly seemed like it at the time
hmmm..son found some really funky techno music...am listening to him play it downstairs and am enjoying it...
biab ladies, must go soap down this mass of muscle and make myself presentable
thats what was smelling things up in here...
I have a low threshold for techno.
hello babblers. Hope everyone is well today.

any clues please for the ES7 ? (for fireworks)
any clues please for the ES7 ? (for fireworks)
ES7 clue please (for fireworks) ?
sorry bout that the chog was eating my question...
es + 4 letter word meaning a section of + vowel
hello all
la 5/12 please
FM, how are things where you are. Saw the weather conditions on TV
hi ivesy..... the person who loads something
Hi peri! Snowy and v icy but not as bad as the rest of the country - having said that haven't been able to use the car for 3 days. But am warm and the kitchen is stocked so not complaining.
unless there's more than one... haven't listed yet
hi diane... i think i have that one. yes there are 2
How are you peri?
okay... don't have it yet ;-)
glad you are ok, FM
I am fine ty. cold but no snow or ice. last year at this time we had @3" of snow.
meant 23 inches of snow!!
got it.. ! tks anyway.. was in plain site lol
Gosh what a difference peri!
sometimes the short one hide on us !! Are you enjoying this game ?
indeed. I never want to showvel the driveway again. thank goodness we have a lovely neighbor and she helped us
Is Zoe Anne better too?
yes, i am.. getting used to it finally
she is doing fine, thanks for asking, FM
I'm addicted lol
i didnt realize it, but i am too lol
lol diane it happens to us all sooner rather than later,
ahhh.... BEER ! got it , ivesy
next thing you will have to do if you can ivesy is to go Pro.
I always get addicted immediately, and then it tapers off..... I hope ;-)
ive been thinking about it, prob will
yeah right Diane, I've been babbling for 5 years :(
I played Text Twist with Ivesy for many years... probably since about 2002 ... we had a great chat room!!
i always babbled lol.. didnt know it was a game i could play !
oh yes we did, it ws great
LOL
well, FM... it's not a bad addiction ! I even have a couple of my granddaughters who will sit down with me and play
it doesn't taper off, at least not for me, have been babbling for over 6 years :)
does the "NEED" to complete the grid each and every day subside ?
not for me, Diane, but there are many who do not complete a grid
ok..back again..forgot recycling being picked up today to make up for being snowed in
i find typing it strange words helps alot lol
just for fun I'd like to see 1030 beside my name, ... then I'd have reached a personal goal I guess. :-)
I think the people who are most competitive have to finish
like me
and you begin to think in Babblese, Ivesy !! It gets easier
I am looking for the pa8 and pa10, no luck as yet and having trouble with morewords :(
For some it does, took me a while to get to that point. Greetings hoot.
i never NEED to finish diane...and u can tell f rom my stats... i have been playing for over 3 years now and still have not hit 1 mil words
I am competitive, but only with myself. I don't care what others do
ivesy - if you already do that you will be ok! Monkeying is sometimes the only way
Hi carlee
hi FM
ok, thats what monkeying is.. i have to get used to some of these terms
peri... a pa***egal is not a *awyer+ to not pay your t**** in april is not a good thing...gets u the 10...8 is not plural
hey there fm...you snowed in?
hmmm - 4 years and trying for 4,000,000
I just like something to keep my mind active, teach me new things, with a little friendly chat on the side !!
now is this stats thing something u get only if you are pro
oh I'm not trying to beat everyone! Just my nature fighting with me
More or less carlee but nothing like you guys over there.
howdy again everyone,crossy is back
Hey crossy!!!!!!!!
ty carlee, new words for me
It's been so long I don't rememberbut I think they all disappear after 2-3 weeks unless you go pro
((fm)
62 left, back later
Toodles peri
Way to go Hoot! Let us know when you break four million so we can have a party.
been long for me as well, but then i went pro on the 3rd day lol
hi Crossy
howdy diane
ok - but the same thing is happening this time as the last - small grids and low points!
The tile and word stats go after 2 weeks. However you can still play on and check your sting if you click on Rankings above the chog.
lol,i stopped caring about points when i discovered i need to finish 100 more grids to slide into last place lol
*status not sting - have no idea where that came from!
i lied...somewhere in the last couple weeks i broke 1 mil...1 mil 8 thousand something or other....in almost 4 yeears of babbling
There's a delay on the rankings too as I remember. Have to finish a certain amount before it happens
of grids that is
i am at half a million points...after 3 years lol
i hate that to move up u have to complete something like 30 grids consecutively to move up....that not happening in my world
we're too obsessed with food porn crossy
yaa for food porn!!!
( i went pro within a week myself )
You have to complete 30 grids in a row to move up? Not in my world either.
passing crossy a bottle of misty jack
30 in a row?? you have got to be kidding
mmmm misty jack....
i dont know how many molls..but it might as well be 100...for all the likelihood i will
anyway - if you read AngelSongs babble page uner the tile stats it'l give you an idea
I've made note of a few "recipes" in here.... I've cooked for over 50 years, but am still a "recipe addict" LOL
i think i did 3 in a row once...
might be 20?...haz would know
have you made penne ala vodka diane?
carlee....I liked your idea of the rum/bourbon balls made using brownies as a base. I'm going to make some
No I haven't, Crossy.. lol
the martha stewart recipe is essentially what i did....but i added ground pecans...now..jmc made hers this year using that recipe but she prefers hew own..and is going back to the way she makes them for next years
k ill list it..one sec....
twas
If I remember it is 30 days in a row, but it will say in the info bit of Rankings.
i added dble the booze martha does b/c added the nuts... i cup ground ppecans
i will never be able to dedicate myself like that unless i am chained to a bed in a hospital and bored outof my wits
oh yum carlee
1 cup ground pecans
( basic brownie as your base fm ...i used brandy in lieu of rum..jmc used bourbon )
was 1/2 cup of brandy i used
I am a great fan of the "Best of Bridge" and "Company's Coming" cookbooks, but they probably local, or at least Canadian favourites.
ok for penne ala vodka....cook up penne noodle for 2 aldente, rinse and put to the side...3 green onions diced fine,i clove of garlic diced fines, and 6 strips of crisp bacon crumbed fine...add 1 tsp butter(carefull not to overdo the butter) to a large fry pan heat on medium..add onoins, garlic and bacon and cook for 3 minutes..add 2 oz of quality vodka and flambe for 15 seconds, put fire out with 1/2 pint of 35% cream turn down heat and simmer for 5 minutes..add penne noodles and simmer for 5 more..serve with salad and crunchy itallian loaf
Must be off only popped in to clue a word and of course got sucked into the chog. TTFN.
i am addicted to allrecipes.com
<<<FM>>> have a great evening
tc ((fm))
oh... and I have brandy that needs using up !
thanks crossy... copied and pasted into my recipe folder
there is also a similar fettuchini al simone(but crossy does not like salmon)
brandy will work
Hmm, Cross says he comes from Irish blood but does not like Salmon. Hmm.
I've used it too carlee .... I got a nice slow cooker stroganoff from there.
there u go diane....u take the baked and crumbled brownies....and u use a mixer while adding the rum/ brandy/ bourbon and the pecans... mix until smooth...then shape into balls..roll in cocoa or course sugar..and keep refridgerated
One of these days, we should assemble a Babble Recipe Book.
oh man..that would be KILLER
i could add my clicken cordon bleu:)
who is tech savvy enough to compile online and would be dilligent enough to stay on top to addthe recipes?
do you think dr god would?
I have the whole Jamie O - Naked Chef 2 on my computer. Somehow, someone shared the "whole" thing !!
I've used it many times.
i like the fact that the recipes are all rated on all recipes...i figure for eveyone who actually took the time to rate there was 10 or 20 who didnt bother
got it from one of my daughters.
Well, it would be easier to open up a free message board site and let people add their own. The forums could be recipe categories, like Appetizers, Main Dishes, etc.
might be easier...but would it be as user friendly..you would want an index
and a recipe search
Hello. The recipe thing is already done on BabblersAnonymous (BabAnon).
might be a good money maker for dr god too...u get access to it if u a member
that site is so not user friendly tho jacs... i never use it....
Yeah, except the BabAnon link here doesn't work for many of us anymore.
Odd. I have no trouble with it.
Sorry to cut and run. Family calls. See you later.
going to make breakfast... be back later this afternoon
crossy..you are in contact with dr god...pitch him the idea... might be kinda fun
http://createmycookbook.com/home
send him pics of the meal...
oh hey..that cool molls
I'm going to do that on line cookbook for my family for Christmas next year.
well..i have time on my hands right now...i could do that...
if people want to submit recipes...
question is tho...how would it work for others who want to order???
Let's see what Doctor God says. Maybe he would want to do this as a money maker for Babble.
good idea molls..i think i might do that myself...
crossy..u on that???
As for the family one, I'm going to send out a family group email requesting any recipes I don't already have.
30 words to find
oh i have so many... what a cool idea
hi all! not wanting to list just yet, have 35 left - what's the other 8? I have the pa 8 and 10
i am So doing that next year...will start compiling them after xmas...
no idea rbud
My ex MIL did this by hand one year. I cherish that cookbook. But I would like an updated, bound one. Her book is recipe cards in sleeves.
The other 8 is ex8/70
i was going to do an altered book for my kids... but i suck at scrapbooking
thanks, Molly! :)

Taking the boy bowling. See y'all later.

hi babblers, - carlee I don't bake but I just made a nice batch of fresh applesauce with a few raisins - I bet it would taste great in a tart shell!
45 min here, half an hour there...
crossy, that sounds bad, how are you doing with your CPAP?
howdy jbv
the machine and i still fight each other lol
not really applesauce, more like stewed apples - I put it on hot cereal, eat it with plain yogurt, etc
Hi JBV
hi sadie
homemade applesauce is great
I had green apples that were really tart, but with a few raisins (and no added sugar) it came out great
oh and cinnamon
oh yum
sounds great
anyone need a clue? I have a few minutes before I have to run
es7?
that sounds yum but the tarts are out of oven now :)
now am figuring out my lunch...
da 6/21
es + a fraction is a **** of the whole + vowel
I have an ipod shufll
ty jbv. Fireworks.
yaa for marigold and her i-pod;))
yaa for mixi!
da6 sounds like plural type of sheep.
hello, marigold, very pleased to meet you - I've seen your legendary stats in the Rankings columns, didn't know if you were real :)
da 6 - like a city in texas
FYI: it is not marigold who has an ipod shuffle, it is me periwinkle. I was on her computer
hi peri
she is for reall, she is my sister.
so then marigold is really not real?
thank you
marigold and her husband gave me the ipod shuflle!!!
ok :)
ohhh marigold,you are #1 on the list,can i have your autograph? :))
now I have to put music on it. downloaded itunes.
clue for the pa8,70 would be appreciated!
don't give her a swelled head. I introduced her to Babble, I should get some credit too :)
pa 8 - was the name of a movie with Warren Beatty - looks like two lines that never meet
well, you should have an asterisk or a footnote in the Rankings, then, Peri - see Dr. God about that :)
Thanks
<------new ipod shuflle owner, I was quite surprised with gift.
ty JBV, that is an idea
I think I am #2 or #3 in the rankings, not too shabby
that's excellent, Peri - to me it means you have some kind of stability in your life that you can Babble every day
well I am retired. I was working full time when I started
babble and marigold was not. She was able to play consistently at the beginning which is why she is #1.
she is working part time now.
but she still finished babble every day and so do I
pl 6/39 plz
I'm retired too, peri, and I do like to finish every day - working my way back to it......
solar pl****
(group of muscles)
it must be nice to have someone in your real life who understands Babble - nobody I knew gets it
ty!
*nobody I know
yvw
ex 5/22?
Happy holidays all!
hi science
hi science.. welcome back
ex 5 - someone who leaves his native country
I can only play onj weekends!
or holidays. Sure miss everyone and the game!
that isn't a word.. oh jeez
why is that science..too busy?
Does anyone know someone who needs a pro gift? I wanted to buy one for someone, but I am never here anymore so I don't know who to pick!
My school blocks these applications! Humbug
oh
what is a pro gift?
hmm... a likely candidate.....
perhaps
but Babble is so educational, doesn't seem right, science! ;p
Okay, I need a clue for the top E please
agree rose
i gifted someone from africa recently..the rand dollar conversion is a killer so it was easy to help her
that's very cool, crossy
I also though about sending Dr. G and email and let him decide who to give it to
es7 - es + a section of something (pa4) + a round vowel
*thought*
Okay, top E please I only have a few moments
I wanted to gift dfm ..but someone beat me to it
wow, ty would never have gotten that one
such fun to anonymously gift folks, isn't it?
well last year I gift someone, but now I don't know anyone except old timers
science, piclksomeone form a country where their currency make going pro prohibitive
it is fun Dorens
i am in the midst of making these rugelach, which are sooooo time consuming i don't know why i'm doing it
Clue for po4/9 please?
sounds yummy
I love paying the toll for the car behond me on the bridge..just to freak them out
you'll see them in comic books kenny
i mean, babble takes up enough of my time, right-- kenny look at the point count and then you'll get it
ruru likes freaking folks out
think superman -
babble or rugelach?
more of those in old batman TV show
both
there..done...finally... now i can clue a bit
<---loves keeping people off-balance
can i ask a silly question?
okay 67 left and I have not listed. Redheaded grandmonsters will be here any moment. Taking them to the Nutcracker tonight in very fancy dresses. they are here.......bbl maybe
problem is i enjoy babble more than making rugelach. but i do enjoy eating them! (the rugelach, not the babbles)
later science
ttfn
sure sadie, go right ahead
what if we said no, sadie?
go for it sadie ( sorry i wnted to finish so hav been buried for a bit)
hi doren
Thanks all!
hi jbv, how are you doing?
hi dorens
hi carlee.. what are you cooking these days?
doing OK, busy with work-type things during the week, but on weekends I give myself the day off and just do fun stuff - I'm starting to go back to some good routines
i wouldnt of asked Doren lol
just made mince meat tarts...
but i found the answer neermind
went back to my Italian class, attended a state-level committee meeting last week, stuff like that
i bet your house smells good carlee
they are still warm from oven
sadie, all questions are silly, or none are... no worries
yeap...does :)
now I want to know what the question was
carlee, i am making a ground turkey/chick pea/tomato/spinach concoction and i stuck in some ras-el-hanout---house smelling soooo good
what is babble pro lol
doren that sounds great
oooh....will be yummm..served over basmiti rice
u are pro sadie :)
do you bake it? fry it? do tell
was going to serve over couscous... could do rice though
that does sound good dorens
yea well i figured that out thanks carlee lolol
i did say it was silly
just did it in a skillet... browned the ground turkey, onion, garlic... added the other stuff and letting it cook a bit
taking notes..... I will definitely try it -
*loving ruru's icon*
to ME rice... saute up a bit of ground meat ( like...1/4 pound ) and onion... with your spices....inpot cook your rice with some tiny egg noodles...and chicken broth...when meat cooked throw in with the rice...
i dont use ground beef anymore just ground turkey
do you have ras el hamout jbv?
well..then do turkey..n/p
awwwww ruru that icon is real cute
mmm i would eat that happily carlee
no but I have falafel - is that anything like it?
just a wild guess, doren - I have no idea what that is
I've found several spiced turkey flavors in frozen pounds that are quite tasty (and cheap!) - italian sausage turkey is really good in spaghetti and on pizza
yes it is i use it also rbud
yes, I have that rbud - very good
hehehe...its the spice blend used in ME..commonly calle d" all spice'..cus uses alot of spices..like indian garam masala
we make homemade pizzas a lot
jbv it is a fantastic mixture of mideastern spices... ran across it last summer at a spice store in napa and i'm iin love with it
thanks, carlee :)
not to be confused with allspice the ground nut
I don't have the mixture, but I have some of those spices
i make my own dorens
of course you could just throw in whatever spices you want and it will be yummy. oh, what do you put in it carlee?
its cinnamon, cloves, corriander, ground pepper, cumin
(knew carlee would be an expert on the subject)
with those ingredients that you mentioned, I could just stick with my old standby - Adobo - goes with anything
and i cant remember what else off top of head
hold on ..will find my recipe
HEY ALL!!!!
yup. adobo would be fine. whatever flavors you are in the mood... i've been doing various permutations of this for a while... different beans, different spices, etc. cannelini and italian spices work well too
Hello stidmama
hi stid
((stidmama))
I shall have to retrieve the archive for peoples' recipes, I see!
I got down to 53 last night! :-D
may I whine just a moment?
hi and bye stid - have to run now, I'll stop in later, bye everyone
bye jbv
bye jbv and hi stidders.. wiine?
[back for the whine...]
whine away
just bring the cheese, stid
53 lbs.. ? Stid that's anorexic
is she going to whine about her kids again?
nope school
thanks. I put a "peppermint" candy in my mouth last night at the boys' concert -- it was on the "treats" table. But it had wintergreen flavor in it, and my mouth is STILL swollen and raw. *whimper*
good guesses, though...
53 pounds? that is one of my winter boots
oh no, that is a serious complaint
poor stid.
allergy to wintergreen?
I bought something at a bakery the other day and they said it didn't have nuts.. but there were walnuts in it.
I should know better than to trust unlabeled candies...
<---allergic to nuts
it's painful
yes -- actually it's the methyl salicylate that is found in menthol that sets me off. earlier in the week the younger stidkid had a full wintergreen candy when we were driving along and I broke out in a rash.
that could kill someone, ru. my daughter in law in particular
oh ruru, that is horrible! are you okay?
yikes!
scary that they're not more careful with that info
I took some benedryl.. but it was too late
I mean, obviously you are still with us so my evil plan isn't working, but... oh ruru, that is a rotten thing.
fenugreek seed, ginger and allspice ginger, cinnamon cloves and corriander and black pepper
sorry ginger once
note to school boards and teachers - get a memo out to parents about ingredients and labeling, etc.....
those are the spices to make ras el hamout ( morrocan) or baharot or 7/ 8 spice blend
a few weeks ago someone at a restaurant put beef-containing sausage in a vegetarian dish my son had ordered. Fortunately he noticed before I took a small bite, so I didn't get in trouble. But I could have been seriously in trouble.
it would figure.. stid would try to get rid of me with a cookie
fenugreek? one of the few spices i have never even thought of buying
allergy to beef?
be careful out there, saying good-bye for real
I don't eat any baked goods that people make unless I really know them and they are fully aware how to avoid my allergens.
holy cow!
the proportions differ depending upon the cultre... iraqis put in dried rose petals
yes -- actually anything bovine. sheep and goat stuff only makes me break out in hives, but cow stuff is full anaphylaxis
rofl ruru! EXACTLY!
where are you going to find roses in IRaq these days
wild..
carlee, ever think of making the stuff and selling it?
***many hugs and choclits for you JBV*** bye!
why..i can buy it at the internation food store...
i just happen to have everything on hand so i do it myself
crossy counts himself lucky.i can eat anything as long as it is not moving...and some things that are lol
pork and strawberries here
carlee, you must have the most wonderful pantry... *sigh* wish you would come and figure out what I need in my cupboards!
LOL cross! you are indeed lucky!
no strawberries, carlee??? that would be worse than a cow allergy.
hahaha,,,just for that stiddy...i will go take a pic...and post on fb...hold on
:-D I'll log in to facebook so I can see!
give me a min
so ruru -- do you have anything besides benadryl that helps? sometimes I boost with a couple claritin, but didn't have any with me last night. And forgot this morning. *sigh* I don't think straight when things like this happen.
i can do without cow,but i love my fish and chops and bacon:)
I have an epi shot always in my car. incase it gets bad
The hospital isn't far away from my house
next time, from the way this event went, I might have to use an epipen. So far have avoided using them, but my friend who's a doc tells me that I need to use them and get to the ER
mmmmm. bacon!
that's good, ruru -- we live further than one epipen away from the hospital, so I carry two.
the roof of my mouth is still raw and hurts
I went back in the bakery and threw the cookie at the counterperson....
(not really.. but I wanted to)
I know the feeling! *grin* my lips are so swollen I look like one of the hollywood women who's had collagen. YUCK.
*headline in local paper.. man arrested on Xmas for assault with a chocolate-chip cookie
oh.. we will start calling stid angelina
ok stiddy..its up
people in town applaud
*in other news, mother of two found putting "no cow" graffiti on the windows of every bakery in town
cool! brb
how long does a epi-pen last usually?
carlee! you use the same brand of yeast my mother does!
those dark jars are empty of yeast..i use those for various spice blands
I think about a half hour or so..
I think they have a 12-month shelf life. BUT as I learned last winter, if they freeze you have to replace them. So I now bring them in with me in the winter
hey shopping tip
and that giant bottle on top shelf is pure vanilla brought back from mexico for me
if anyone has last minute shopping to do, lands end has free shipping and 40% off your most expensive item, and if you order today it will come before the 25th.. can't beat that
my yeast stays in fridge
no i mean how long will they ease you reactions till you get to er?
that is so cool... we have our spices in about six different places. *sigh* I really want to organize my kitchen again.
very good, doren!
about 15 minutes cross
wow. that's a LOT of vanilla!
i have 2 other bottles before i get to that one...
but i use vanilla alot
I like vanilla, too. we got some paste vanilla -- alcohol free -- once from trader joe's. It was pretty nice. Used glycerin as the base.
lol just found the new culinary line se 6/36
But I prefer the flavor of the rum vanilla.
Carlee, do you use the pure vanilla in the same proportions as vanilla extract?
my curry jar..that a 1L container... I typically refill it yearly...( about 2/3 full ) as u can see almost empty ( red lid)..blue lid tumeric...cheesewhiz jar is ginger
crossy does not like curry:/
molls i DO NOT BUY artificial...i only bought it to make ice cream with my girl guides and i was NOT wastin gmy mexican vanilla on 10 year olds
so i bought artificial that night and i have th eleftovers..so am putting it on my coffee grounds before making my drip coffee as a xmas season treat
I get that. Do you use the pure vanilla in the same amounts though. Like if a recipe calls for a teaspoon of vanilla extract?
dont blame ya lol
lol ruru
Good afternoon all
me..i typically dble it
We don't do a whole lot of curry, but as I move more and more toward using garbanzos and such instead of meats we do more curries.
(Cross, curry is evil)
afternoon NonnieLight
the more the merrier, carlee?
sorry... the big jam jar is ginger..the cheesewhiz jar is cumin..i go through alot of that too
So the pure vanilla is not stronger?
I like being able to balance the flavors of curries to my own taste buds -- I don't do well with some of the picante spices, so I make a pretty tame curry
it is...but i like vanila
I like to toast cumin seeds just before we grind them.
and sometimes I toast cumin and then add them whole to bannock
then in my freezer i have 2 types of cardomom
i have 5 diff garam masalas in that cupboard
3 types of thyme....3 types oragano
its..scary...
compulsive spice disorder!!!!!
:-D carlee the spice cupboard goddess... she claps her hands and the herbs dance a quadrille
LOL cross!
the bags are all dried herbs from my mum's garden...
ever make a meal only to fin d out it is all herbs and spices and you forgot an entree?? you have spice disorder!!
if there a spice...i likely have it...except am out of saffron <sob>
<-- has lemongrass. Aniseed. Ginger. Caraway seed. Salt, sugar... maybe some pepper but I can't seem to find it... :o/ how do you have/use so many spices?
*gasp* no saffron!
my tom has a cardamom bread recipe he got from a friend. It's delicious.
(also hi all! :o) )
I only just learned how to use fresh lemongrass. Now I use it several times a month.
hey dfm!
i have pepper(2 kinds) salt (3 kinds) basil, oregano, garlic salt/powder and chilli flakes..thats about it lol
cardamom walnut cookie recipe in ny times this week that was goood.. But not for you nut allergy folks, sorry
i replace yearly... they get used...when i make chilli...i use sweet peppers, hot peppers, jalapeno peppers, paprika ( I only use spanish paprika..the hungarian is too soft for my liking) chilli flakes..cayenne and tobasco..not alot of any..but gives the chilli a nice..depth of flavour
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/15/dini ng/15cookierex5.html
I barely ever touch my spice shelf... not even for salt and sugar...
stiddy is the bread bulla/ pulla? is it finnish?
I can still eat pecans... might substitute for the walnuts.
do it then... my mom (the cookie queen) made them the other day and raves about them
those look yummy! when my mouth unswells I will try making these
I don't know where it comes from -- it was a friend from college -- nearly 30 years ago now.
now would be the time for you to reach out to Brad Pitt stid
lololol
rofl ruru!
I just looked up that term, and I think it probably originally was pulla, the ingredients look right.
bbiab
later ru
okay ruru, later.
down to 45 now. not making fast progress, but enjoying the food discussion!
scarlet and i each make pulla....and when gets tale...make french toast out of slices of it...( adding vanilla of course to the egg )...heaven
yum!
down to 50... be back later. happy babbles
later doren!
when gets stale*
bye dorens
yes, I figured -- stale bread is better for french toast anyway.
ok..i think i am going to tackle some present wrapping whislt i am kidfree
you all have a good day...maybe back later...ttfn <poof>
enjoy your quiet time carlee!! **hugs**
One batch of red and green M&M Rice Krispie Treats done. Another to go in a while. Boy is taking them to work for Christmas treats.
Noswaith dda pawb - evening all
hi glant! :o)
hello again dfm
I'm down to 50 words and have papered and painted the bathroom
hey again, and noswaith dda Glantarell!
you are being very industrious! I am still lounging about in bed with the computer...
<-- Lucky, of course, does not approve!
you're not the only one, stid!
I am trying to get my house ready to sell, there is still lots of decorating to be done...
se4!?
yes, se4
*puts lovely hot cider in PB* are you moving?
is that a good thing or a bad thing?
I live 34 miles frm work, and have to drive over a mountain pass, whch is hideous in winter. I want a shorter commute and better facilities - I live out in the sticks
I completely understand!
It's a good thing for the reasons listed but a bad thng as it has come on account of husband's philandering and my finding out
esp. the shorter commute bit.
thanks for the hot cider, it's lovely - do you know that all british cider is alcoholic?
*stern mama look at philanderers everywhere* what a terrible thing to discover!
for real??? in the states, if it has alcohol we call it "hard cider"
*makes a mental note not to go to Britain for cider*
and it's apple juice if the pulp is strained out
it was a terrible thing to discover - he was very carefless with information on his computer and i found it whilst trying to get old friends email addresses as part of arrnanging his 60th brthday party
hello again. I am multitasking. I am listening to my ipod shuffle and playing babble. Life is good!
one time my folks bought cider in the appalachian mountains, and we kids didn't know it was the hard kind... boy, did it pack a punch!
hi peri! :o)
hey peri!
yes, hard cider - I have tasted your cider in wisconsin and it is wonderful
(((glantarell))) I am sorry.
peri, it is nice to see you here! we had a very lovely discussion about food and spices earlier.
philandering?
i was sorry but in the long run I think it's probably a good thing. it's just hard at the moment as he keeps reappearing - in theory to do work around the house but today he has just sat on the sofa and done nothing
hmph. I do NOT approve of his actions.
philandering dfm - and arranging to do so by email and sex chat rooms
I missed the chat about food and spices and too lazy to scroll back
"ratose" sweetener made from rodents?
oh Do:
is this your new word of the day stidmama?
I think so... usually when I start seeing wurds like that it's time to list.
feeling stoopid since I cannot find some of the 4 letter words today
anybody clue me for the pa6?
not finding 4s doesn't mean you're stupid, peri!
floats and bands etc are the pa6
ty dfm
not understanding that clue peri
I am missing 11 4 letter words and 20 others
ok, There are pa6's to celebrate certain holidays, such as Thanksgiving here in the states
marching bands and people watching from the sides of the roads, glantarell
The first ever pa6 float was one of Felix the Cat.
i am missing 18 4 letter words
maybe you mean balloon, dfm?
PA6 a military ceremony involving the formation and marching of bands.
thanks all - i read 'floats' as water buoyancy aids LOL - which explains why i didn;t understand
hey zoom!
Or It was something like that.i
hi zooz! :o)
Hello, All..back to find my last 73 words :-)
Well at least try anyway..lol
go zoom go!
well, let's try this: could I have a clue for the 8?
po 5/22 plz
or rather, AN 8 since I have neither yet?
po5/22 - diseases which begin with chicken, small or cow
po 5/22 is like a plural for a small red dog-like creature with a fluffy tail
pa8 is a film starring warren beatty
pa8 like to straight lines together with last two dif letters.
thanks glantarell and zoom *thinking*
i haven't got the other 8 ex8
ty!
got it! and the ten, too!
then extend to get the PA10
pa8 is the apparent shift in position of an object (esp.celestial) caused by a shift in position of the observer
well done stidmama
The unit ???sec is defined to be the distance an object must be for the heliocentric pa8 to be exactly one arcsecond
glant doyou have the ex6?
LOL dfm! I love physics!
yes
extend that to a ex7 (nounal) and then an ex8 (pl.)
nounal?
noun form of a word
44 left, bbs
if you ex 6/36 film to light, the ex 7 results in a ruined piece of film...
later peri!
i see what you're saying but can't find it
the ending of the ex words are like lettuce & tomato ***ad
don't look for it, type what you think should be there...
ty zooz
yw :-)
got the ex7 & ex8 now - ty all
(use the force....) *star wars music playing in background*

I'm an hour from Baltimore. 40 minutes in good traffic.
I'm about an hour away, but from another direction.
Speaking of family, I need to head out soon. My younger son drew all over himself.
He needs a bath.

hi kap
I swear I have used every pot and pan in my kitchen today cooking and concocting. Could be a two dishwasher-load night. Kap's here, hi Kap.
i am freezing and too lazy to go downstairs and turn my heat up
howdy kap
Catsklill ladies sing this song...
JMC, blargh to the Redskins/Dallas game.
just be glad you have the dishwasher mine is broken and i just thawed out the pipes to hand wash the dishes
crossy hates dishwashers,a good shot of sunlight dish liquid and boiling water for me;)
oh are we playing dallas todat?
I am touched by virtual relationships- a woman on another board that I know died this week of brain cancer
Hoo-hah, hoo-hah
i take it it is not going well?
Done deal JMC. The Skins tied the game and then freakin' lost.
how sad kap
Grieving online for a nice person you never met is bizarre when your real family is sitting near
But "real " is in the eye of the beholder, or something like that
i help many people online lap,it is not crasy..
well we have had grief within the babble community over the last year too
"Sitting on the front porch playing Mah Jonng"
and we have celebrated as well
i offer my services locally to people who diagnosed with cancer for the first time
community is community
Kap, it's amazing how much affection you can develop for a person you have never met face to face. I fell for my husband that way (not on a dating site)
do tell molly
all online
Dan and I were helping a mutual friend with some web design work. Because of that we started emailing each other, and it got less about the work and more about the relationship.
It's very sad- I've been chatting with these folks for 5 years. Never met this woman but knew all about her family...
neat molly
very sad kap
Someone is compiling all of her posts about her family and sending them as a scrap book
my help is real, their anguish is real,i need not meet a person to ease their fear and do my job of paying forward as a survivor.and grieving for the ones we lose
I hope no one sends my family my posts when I die.
I just found one of the se6/36 describes me to a tee :)
yikes! i would die of embarrassment if someone did that after i died!
The internet has extended many people's web of relations, and links to the past.
You would already be dead, JM.
sexier is not in the grid peri ;-)
i know kap
i care not what you say when i amd dead,i am either a worm feast or dust in a jar..the soul has moved on
As long as we are clear on that fact.
Depending on the subject matter in the forum Kap was communicating with her, it could be some very good writing of hers.
i hope they edit it for her
the first se6 jmc, just kidding,
i don't have it yet but will remember when i find it
compound word , jmc
35 member board, came together randomly, got very close.
okay peri still looking i found the one close to my flip remark
It's similar to that JMC.
lol found it peri
:)
Wow Kap, that is amazing that you all stayed close on line for all those years. I'm sure your friend will be remembered fondly.

when i get that feeling i want se---- healing
It's kind of crazy- met because of making fun of a certain soap opera, stayed together- despite vast political differences, education and location-
well babbleland has been around almost as long --started sometime in 2004 i think
hi jmb
This at least has a noble purpose---Days of Our Lives is very declasse.
lol not General Hospital?
If my whole life becomes virtual, will I be immortal?
howdy jmc
entirely possible kap
so5 pls
Days is worse than GH. It cracks me up. I got hooked when I finished my dissertation- a relative newbie.
my sister loved general hospital when we were kids
8 left, cat is hungry, brb
my grandmother loved days of our lives
So and Make love, not ***
so + not peace

hi ru
OMG, am I in the PB?
Dark something
hi jm
Dark Shadows.
i think considering your grief i will give you a get of pb free card
that was it kap *I* loved dark shadows it was sooooo stupid
stupid can be sublime.
Thanks for the PB card- no one caught me!
er I did
You did?
hence my remark about so** operas
it was a subtle hint
I was glued to Dark Shadows every day as a kid.
my phantom is exhale
Oh- but you didn't haul me before the authorities. I started watching this show as an adult, and there was no history of so4 opera watching in my family...
*uncovers pb police badge*
I love it when my family tells me it's stupid and badly actied. You think I don't already know htat?
Kap, I left some Hamantaschen in the PB for you.
my phantom also involved the ex, I want exault.
a lot of actors started on so**s like lee majors who was on General Hospital
Julia Roberts.
Oh that's a long list JMC. Tom Cruise, Kathleen Turner, Meg Ryan.
did not know about Julia Roberts but that explains so much
Some actors just stay there for 30 years, getting plastic surgery.
Demi Moore.
Kathleen Turner did a so-so stage play about Molly Ivans
Jennifer Aniston's dad.
Not Allan Sherman though.
Victor Kiriakous!! I am a so4 addict in recovery. I used to watch DAYS for years.
lol no not allan sherman
never watched so** operas
HA! Gotcha Molly. Victor is still there.
altho I do watch Desperate Housewives and Gray's Anatomy
I know, he was one of my favorite characters. I can't believe he's Aniston's Dad. He is such a good actor and she is so lame.
Jennifer Anniston's dad is still there too, my sister told me that
I never had either- it took till I was finally a Ph.D. You may get there yet!
she is okay she mainly gets lame pa**s
She gets the same part over and over.
She should try Shakespeare.
she does, Kap
Mrs. Gump would say "Lame is as lame does".
Oh- PB again.
feels like the heat may be on now
tr5/10 pls
lol kap
Oh please Kap, wasn't Paltrow attempting faux Shakespeare enough?
If I didn't know better I would think you were trying to twap me.
*JMC begins to thaw*
but paltrow was good in Jane Austen

hey all!
hey stidmama
afternoon all (popping in while my pumpkin soup cooks); how's everyone
ty glan!
*wonders where jmc's tassles are*
I've jst come back
hi pini
hi stiddie
Hi pini
hey pini!!! ((((hugs and hugs)))) IF I take the boys down to Ptlnd in the next couple weeks, do you want to meet up with us?
ooh pumpkin soup?
:-D i think you know stiddie
I'm off the week between xmas and ny's, stid!
it's yummy, onyx! :)
hi onyx
Thank you for the virtual shiva call.
sounds really good
hey onyx!
That is so funny. Tassel was in the grid this week and a bunch of us discovered we had been spelling it wrong for years.
I'll sit shiva with you anytime Kap.
I'll post the recipe in my profile...
hey every one
why are we sitting shiva?
happy to sit shiva as a shicksta
Hi all! True about the tassel...felt the same way?
grr, babble just di the jillibus profile thing againa
someone that I "know" virtually passed away.
oh did i misspell it?
oh, I am sorry Kaplan *gentle hugs of sorrow*
what do you mean glan?
the way my knee feels I think I'll just sit comfortably ;-)
English is such a confusion language for spelling. Not logical like Welsh or Irish... *wicked mama grin*
It's OK- just led to a musing on the reality of virtual friendships...
so sorry Kaplan - how do you findout a irtual friend has passed?
hi mcurl
hi all
mcurl!!! *brings tray of soup, tea, cookies, sandwiches, juice, coffee (with cream and sugar) and candy dish* you just sit and let us wait on you!
*plumps mcurl's pillow on the foot stool*
Oh, I am happy babbling away and then the screen just changes t Jillibus's profile
It was complex Giant.
For some odd reason, Glan keeps getting bounced to Jillibus's profile.
oooooo, after my weekend crash and burn I'll take it!
oh and *ibuprofen, tylenol (3 of course), motrin, aspirin...*
*looks around for jilli*
I mean Gian. Someone noticed she hadn't posted since her surgery...
so. I just learned that Tarell is a river in Wales, and it means something like bubbling spring?
you are glan on my computer glan
surgery? Jill?
I think it's an internet cookie issue for Glant. She said Jilli's profile was one of the first things she clicked on using her new computer.
No- no one here.
did you try clearing the cache, glantarell?
no kaps friend who died stiddie
No surgery. Don't be alarmed.
No surgery. Don't be alarmed.
My girlie-in-law the nurse just gave me holy hell about that 3 aspirin thing. I have always heard that two was not enough.
I have just owndered because most of my friends are virtual (although I have met osem of thme in erson) and I have always windered how I would know if something haoppeed to them (other than their invisibily online)
oh! I see. surgery, even common ones, can be hazardous.
two is enough -- more is pointless
Glantarell needs to put the whiskey down and back away slowly...
stidmama - tarell is a river, and it runs about 25 yards from my house - which is called 'Glan Tarell' - meaning 'on the banks of the \tarell'.
we have worried about that here glan -- especially when a couple were having *ahem* emotional issues
<-------Does not believe in traditional medicine.
I have wine if there's a need to switch from the whiskey...
I am much the same way, with friends -- I have so many people here in Babblonia, far more than I have here in the real world.
hi all again
aha! thanks again!
*thinks about bourbon and wonders if it is warm enough to get some*
hi carlee
hey again carlee!
hi champ and car
Mazeltov, Babblers. *lurking*
oh dear, the typos are showing my wine consumption|*hangs head in shame*
rofl...
hey Judi!
hi judi
How do you have more friends online than off? Anyone as friendly as all of you should have them out the wazoo!
there...
i have rotated icons..
i am more friendly online than off
thanks pini! hey red!
RED!!!! Am on the taper for my race New Year's Day. Going to drag the teenager and make her volunteer..HA!
I'm the same way, jmc
i think i have more online friends too...and in person i am a bitch :p
do you think so jmc? I thought you were great to hang with!
( no...actually i am a snob :)
pinikula, just read your recipe and your profile i was howling!!
Jm...you shouldn't be. Think what would happen if you were the same in both places!
i get much sillier on line than i ever would in person!
* giggle * a couple of fun articles in there, eh, onyx? :)
Carlee...you're just stressed.
I don't like being around crowds of people irl -- more than ten is too many, five is about right.
lol, Carlee. Well, uh... thanks for showing us your good side (even though it is only virtual).
I talk to EVERYONE. Makes my kids nuts.
same here, stid
small doses are good
Then again, realtor. My job is sales, so I'm always making friends.
Stid, you and I are soul sisters. Crowds make me nuts.
if i twirled my tassels in person everyone would run screaming from the room! lol
stidmama i can really relate to the lots ofpeople thing
yeah first one got me riled up and the second had me in stiches did that really happen?
so pini did you see my ? abt ptlnd?
At least you can spell 'em!
no...i am a snob :) until i get to know a person
sorry to interrupt, but does anone know about wrapping gifts and flying? Can I wrap checked items or should I wait...
i am actually fairly shy
lol, Champ. My stepmother does that to. Strikes up a convo with a total stranger. I keep telling her, she's either going to get robbed or kidnapped.
Not to me, onyx!!! My dau sent it to me...I felt I should share it!!!
wait red
*too*
i have to force myself to talk to people at parties
yes. I LOVE teaching, dread being in meetings or parent nights... go home after the latter two and have to sit quietly in a dark room for a bit. But teaching actually wires me up. *shrug* I am weird.
I'd carry them in solid covered bags and wrap on arrival...
Can't help Red. Haven't flown in 30 years.
wrap those gifts and fly - the worst that can hppen is that the cusoms guys open them#
Well, there's that. You tell your kids not to speak to strangers, then you go out and do exactly that!
red, the scuttlebutt is best to NOT wrap anything in advance.
ok thanks jmc, I hate to fly.
take flat wrapping paper and wrap once you get there.
OR. wrap the packages and put them through the checked bags.
i drive more than i used to just to avoid all the "security" crap
they just xray carry on anyway
Champ - and she will ask the most hair-curling personal questions just out of the blue. Makes me want to crawl in the nearest sewer access.
What about shipping them?
My boss is going to see her Mother in Florida for Christmas. She UPS'd all the gifts ahead of time.
i love flying..security or no
they unwrap them in checked luggage sometimes too
they have x-ray machines that can see what's in your wrapped gifts - if you don't have anything weird you'll be fine
well you are on the no-fly list jmc..
Funny ruru!
I heard that Ruru.
my daughter's mother in law waits until she arrives to do any shopping.....thank goodness she arrives tonight!!!
i am in the no cross the canadian border list ru ;-P
actually.... the screeners at some airports apparently stop people for having small containers of liquid while letting guns (with ammo) through! was all over the news this past week.
and the no rent list for enterprise
I was going to send ahead on time but one checked bag is 25.00 one package of 50 pounds much much more....
Isn't everyone? I have a friend who makes the trip and gets stopped every time!
seriously JMC?
??? for real jmc? that's terrible!
there is one of those?
which one?
I have a pair of tennis shoes with fuses..
what did ya do to enterprise?
the canadian one is made up but I have been stopped at the canadian border for at least 30 years now
they let me in but i always get stopped
they let me in but i always get stopped
mind last time i was stopped going into the us...was going to detroit to pick up a friend from airport... and was sitting in US customs for 1 1/2 hours while they ran my passport etc...
Same for my friend. As if anyone wants to do something to Canada!
hm. you must just have "that" look... what ever it is.
maybe if you let the turban off jmc.. that would help
left
my purse was taken..cell phone..passport...and escorted by armed officer to a large locked room
okay, down to 24 and time to head to mother's for bday cake (a few days late, we were so busy!) for the kiddo.
was not a "cell" but i was locked in
i had a dualing mirrors accident with a rented truck and the guy who hit me was so hysterical and in a very high unemployed area that i told them to give him the benefit of the doubt so now i can't rent
oh no carlee! I would find that frightening.
have a fun time stid.
I came to the US in 2007 and 2009 and took art/crat classes each time - requiring tools and supplies. every time |I floew I found a little slip from US customs that thye'd inspected my suitcase - full of weird stuff they weren't sure of LOL
Geesh, Carlee! Were you smuggling fruitcake or something?
Who's b-day? Mine is today!
turbans didn't bother them 30 years ago when this first started
i hate going to canada for that reason
uh...YEAH..just a little bit of FREAK out
whooo hooo champ!!!!

Dan got trapped in Canada once, because he had stayed in the US too long (Pre-Green card). Thanks to a very understanding border guard, he got a reprieve. He walked over the Rainbow Bridge to get back in the US.

Last night had a portobello mushroom in a marsala sauce, over polenta. To die for! Birthday weekends are fattening!
they were amazing..soo good... i brought back a 5 pound bag of grits just so i could make them at home :)
we cant get grits here
so..i e.mailed dr.g od about the cookbook idea
Oh...that's sad! let me know when you need them and I'll send to you.
i think i still have 4 1/2 pounds :)
but thanks champ
what? are we making a cookbook?
That's a boatload of grits!
huh ?
and he has something brewing in his mind re: recipes and the new site...
earlier today mollyL and i were talking crossy too...
about recipes...and how we should put together a cookbook of babble recipes...jacula mentioned that on babblers anon there is a recipe spot up but loads of us cannot access the site
Great idea! Love it!
so..i emailed drgod... and he said he is tryign to come up with something around recipes for the new site
i KNOW...i thought maybe could be a bit of a $ maker for Dr God
PS: from what I can gather grits and polenta are the same thing (just different names)
I believe grits are made from white corn.
That's very cool Carlee. From what I can gather, we have some very good cooks in this community. I would love to have a collection of their recipes.
BBL. Must slave over hot stove now. *POOF*
There is a Christmas tree in a hotel in Abu Dhabi that is decorated with 11 million dollars worth of decorations. WTF??
I'm making a cookbook for my daughters..with a lot of our family favorites in it. I'm using a 4x6 photo album to start with 4x6 index cards I've typed up and added photos to...all in the same format.
later judi
hear about that molly. crazy!
Oh, and the categories are on different colored cards (red = beef; yellow = chicken; green = veggies; etc)
evening all
hi kaz
Genius Pini.
thx champ ...
i am off shortly but thought id pop in to wish you all good night and see you tomorrow
glad you could pop in, kaz!
evening kazzzer
i love your idea of a recipe book - i wish my mum had done that for me
hows it gone Glan - looks like we will be getting more snow later tonight
i have some nice recipes too - told I am a good cook LOL
they have money like that to burn..like in the burj al arab
likely in
think i may be clear of snaow - all roads to stansted look ok
thx kaz...they keep asking me how to make some things and then finally the oldest just asked for a bunch, so I'm making one for both...
I'm making food with my mom to make sure she isn't leaving anything out of the recipes. Plus, it's easier to cook alongside her and learn it.
i read an article about that tree on the BBc and apparently the lobby its in had gold leaf all over the walls
that's great, champ...consider making the cards or similar at the same time...
there u go... that site molls..i am so goig tomake cookbooks for xmas next year everyone is getting one..that it..shopping done
sounds like a great idea!
i am going to knit everyone slippers - my friend in work did it this year and they are really ace - just the sort of pressie you wish santa forgot to bring! Hahaha
ok..the wind must have changed here cus suddenly there is a really cool draft in my house
one year i made scarves and hats
i am not a knitter..i wish i was but i find it very awkward and not at all relaxing
crochetting..that my thing
I have amde all sorts of lovely handmade things but think people don't appreicate them
evening all
I'm just about to start my first Yo-Yo afghan...
any clues for ra5?
have you tried one of those, carlee?
i had even been thinking with my recipe book ( and i might still do this for just my kids ) to make all my own paper..and mount the recipe cards on home made paper
the first ra5 is pt of ra4
i hve just read the bourbon balls recipe - I think i wil be makingthem for Xmas - but what can i substitute for the nuts - hubby hates em
the second is a pl of another ra4
no..i havent..i am in the midst of a granny square aphgan...
is that the one about anger?
( dont put the nuts in..and cut back on the brandy )
or about harvest?
but i am making it with beiges and black and all diff textures of yarn
that's more ambitious than I can get, carlee...I'm good with MSPublisher, so that might be my option (finish that and then have a print shop print and bind them for me)
i cant crochet at all
ra4 = anger; ra5 = pt
ra4/4 = large mouse + vowel; ra5 = pl
I never could get the real hang of knitting, but crocheting I can do...
where r u pini?...molls found a cool site that binds them
ty pini
have even made a doily or two in my time
i can knit but crochet confuses me I can do the actual crochet but can't follow a pattern
this aphgan looks so cool...
<-- US West Coast
I've seen the site, carlee...it's very much like the one I use for digital scrapbooking...
...but I've found it a bit difficult to add artwork :(
Hello Everybody. How are you all today?
hi nef
(brb...checking soup)
i find crocheting really confusing - i used to be able to do weird squares but usually it just looked like a mess
hi nef
i am fine nef - nearly bed time here
must go and look at the weather - hubby is worried he wont be able to go to work for the rest of the year!
Make your own cookbook site...http://createmycookbook.com/hom e
thanks molly i will look that up as want my kids to have the recipes I wish i had from my grandmother. But no one knows quite what she put in some of her recipes
It's actually 5:30 PM here, Kazzer, I'm tired enough I wish it was bedtime! ;-)
Neither of my grandmother's recipes were passed down. Which is a shame. I have started a tradition of having cooking spoons from my kids Grandmothers. They are to be passed on so that women of subsequent generations will be cooking with the spoons of the women that came before them.
Hi Pini and Glant
that is a wonderful idea Molly
It's a cool feeling to know that I am stirring pudding with a spoon that was used by a Mom who came before me to stir pudding for her kids.
And we are entering another winter storm warning; They say we will get another 5 to 8 inches by tomorrow night (most of it should hit tomorrow afternoon; probably during that Vikings' outdoor football game too!)
I can imagine. Luckily it's the sort of thing my kids would get a good feeling about. Non of them are to materialistic, more sentiment and thoughts for them are good things
take care nef, nthat snow can be evil stuff
I can't believe the words I missed in this grid earlier on
G&J; I live in the Twin Cities MN; where the Metrodome collapsed. We were snowed in each of the last 2 weekends; so at least *this* weekend we could get out of our driveway!
i am back from perusing the weather and i am not a happy bunny - they are going to heavy snow for most of tomorrow morning and early afternoon. I have a conumdrum about what to do
happens to me all the time garyandjulie
and its usually a really easy one i get stuck on at the end if i finish
I usually miss the plurals and past tenses of words
funny that my last word today was tr 5/10
I'm back!
hello. Wow Nef! guess no concrn about a white christmas where you live!
hi cos
115 left.. still refusing to list
I miss the present tense, because I see the plural and assume I've done the present!
or singular, rather.
56 left no list yet but maybe soon...
easily done, I have done the same many times
mine was a tree..my last word
listed a bit over halfway...
You're done Carlee?
I am on 27 to go and getting stuck, rather good for me i usually give up and go to bed
got the tree
Hi Cos, did you have a good time last night?
I did. We went bowling afterf the bar lol
Drunk bowling! I love it.
lol i played horribly.. average 60.. when im sober i do much better
cos u have ur wallet?
yes carlee :)
good good:)
i kept checking for it
i cant even manage 60 when i am sober
Steelers are making it a game tonight...4 mins left to go, 20-17 Jets

My hubby's from there. We're rooting for them. My stupid Texans blew it again!
i go back to the days of roger staubach and terry bradshaw...

Terry Bradshaw cracks me up...what a funny guy!

*Concerned about Welki's patooties*
the babble revamp dr god is planning
oooo sounds good, he is good us

carlee, did you get any hint as to how far away the unveiling of the new release is?
no..he just said he had a brainstorm other day re: recipes... and is now trying to figure out how to incorporate it
toddy* even
thanks carlee, my patooties are now restored :)
cool that he was already thinking bout recipies
( carlee does not like cheesy scalloped potatoes as much as her reg scallopped potatoes...<sigh> )
Carlee, Big Ben just ran for about 25 yards!
Cross, I was just looking at a very cool skating show that was a benefit to raise money to fight cancer.
he thought it was funny that we thought of this at about the same time as he thought of his idea
Good evening Babble buddies!
hi scrabbs, crossy, molly, lurking peeples
i could always go upstairs and watch it ...what network champ?
And so...it was meant to be. Hi Scrabs.
hi scrabs
howdy welki..SCWABBY!!
cool molly
CBS
Is everybody staying warm enough?
i am all for raising funds for cancer
we are comfortably settled into our deep snow winter now scrabbs
hi scrabbler, we are fine and warm thanks. how are you?
The XC-ski trail needs more snow. Some areas have visible stones + dirt.
I guess Champ. It came on after the football game was over and I left it because the music was nice.
I was freezing while XC-skiing. Well, my fingers were. I think I will strap a shovel on my back when I hit the trail on Wednesday so I can shovel snow on the bare spots.
29 yr
29yards
lol scrabby our dirt and stones are 6 feet under now
Some areas on the trail are hidden under a canopy of trees.
we do have the tops of the stop signs dug out now;))
they're killing me! so close!
Is the ski resort busy as heck now?
kids are making a fortune taking snow off of roofs
going full tilt scrabby
I had a steel roof installed 7 yrs ago to avoid the problem of ice dams.
not just ice dams, but the pure weight of the snow was getting crazy
warmer day would condense the lower layer and ot would be added to at night
Yes, for flat roofs.
for any roofs
and the wind down by the water would curl it like a wave over the upper windows
What shall I make for dinner? Ravioli? Spaghetti?
clue for the es7?
spagetti with sweet itallian sausage, peppers and onions and a loaf of crusty bread
es + not the whole thing + vowel
mushroom ravioli scrabs
No meat for moi, Crossy, but I will now start boiling water.
tyvm!
oh,you have gone meatless scrabbs?
then add mushrooms to the peppers and onions
damn
I have been a vegetarian since '81, when I started Gross Anatomy, LOL. I did occ eat poultry --gave that up almost 3 yrs ago. and I gave up seafood over the summer.
carlee!!!! SO FREAKIN' CLOSE!!!
Next decision is whether to go vegan.
gave up seafood?? gasp!!
Wow scrabs...that's hard core!
but fish is so good for you,so easily renewable(tupalo)
I cannot "stomach" the idea of eating an animal.
with ya crossy!
no methane
hi ll. scrabs, i must say I don't know any vegans battling with weight.
you do know scrabbs, that carrots 'scream' when pulled from the ground?
Hi Doren! Well, I lost 21 lbs from May-Nov, then gained 5 back when I could not exercise due to eye problem. Now I am working hard to keep the wt loss program successful.
you're my hero! (you and ruru)
I XC-skied almost 5 miles today, 2.2 yest and 2 on Fri.
no kidding champ.... so freaking close u could taste it
cool indeed
poor steelers :(
BP has been ~140/90 for last 6 wks--I am not happy about that.
I agree. Much prefer rooting for them than my home team. And a lot of their starters were out today!
Doren, will you be traveling over winter break?
close? clearly not talking about the giants game!!
i will not spend my life panicing over my weight unless the dr corners me and does a lipid/stress/colesterol test
Merry merry to everyone!:)
panicking
Hi Blueheron!
Dorens, Jets/Steelers
i never worry about my bp...typically it is on low side...
howdy blue!! merry christmass to you!
I am having that bloodwork Tues AM, Crossy.

my DR has to catch me first!
This is new for me--discovered with my first visit to the retina MD 11/4.
Mark Sanchez is a doll!
hi blue. and good luck with that scrabs
the next cancer could take me out no matter how well i eat..so to hell with it!
The Washington/Dallas game was close too. Alas, my abysmal Redskins did not win.
60 minutes has a story about people that can remember every day of their lives. Very cool!
Molly, my idiot Texans disappointed again today too.
How did our inept Bills do? I was out skiing and then shopped in town.
Merry Merry everyone!!!
TY, Champ--I am going to watch that.
It's on now here...
I admire anyone who can adhere to a vegetarian diet. I fear I would be terribly bored if I tried it.
Did I cramp the chog???
oh molly there is such an incredible variety of vegetables, grains, etc that you've never heard of.. not boring
guess so
how would u cramp the chog blue?
just had my dinner of trader joe's meatless meatballs and collard greens. not at all boring

hi :)
hi min
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
Hello Pinikula!
ty :) finished the puzzle...
hi Minveryork
wtg interpim
pa8 pls?
im addicted to this game. I've played it everyday since i discovered it a week ago.
Congratulations interpim on finishing the grid!Hooray
yeah, that kinda happens around here a lot!!!
are you going to go pro soon? :)
(PS: you will be assimilated, resistance is futile)
pa8 is an apparent displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight
what are the perks of going pro?
don't you just love learning new words here? :)
(or old ones, if you're smarter than the average bear!)
i've actually noticed some of the words that exist in puzzle but aren't recognized :)
Hello anyone I missed
I'll keep working on it..thanks
well, you get the tile and word stats below the grid, along with the fireworks, for only the first two weeks
hi herin
oh, so once i've been here two weeks those go away?
and with prodom comes the ability to put a picture on and text in your profile ;)
that's right, interpim ;)
but the cost of going pro is abt $15 USD for a lifetime membership :)
if I do decide to go pro, it will definitely be after the holiday's. Christmas for the kids has me stretched thin atm.
(best $15 bucks I spent for an online game and incredibly friendly community of people)
I know what you mean...xmas does tend to do that...
know of any good online crossword puzzle sites?
hmmm, crossword...not off hand...
so thinkiing nap
I like to play sudoku, cribbage, gin, and dominos online...haven't come across a good crossword grid yet...
you ok, herin?
i like sudoku as well. I've almost lost interest in it though... I've found Kakuro to be fun though, and a bit more of a challenge
Just cold and tired. Long weekend. Friday night I slept on my friends couch and that isn't too comfy
I've not tried that one, interpim...I'll have to check it out...
cross sums essentially
I know what you mean there, herin...went shopping yesterday, got a bad cup of hot chocolate on the first stop and was sick thereafter; came home and slept 3 hours.
mix of a crossword puzzle and sudoku
oh, I think I know what you mean, interpim..
Interpin I have tried that too hard
I hate that with drinks. I had no choice but to go to a coffee place that is fairly average as they are the safest that are not going to poison me and give me milk
Yeah, I'll never go to that drive thru place again...
I'm in the Navy, and when I spent long stints at sea I would play tons of word/number games to pass the time.
AND it is 15c (59 F) which I declare obscene for summer
a squid! (no offense intended, of course)
Interpim where you stationed?
that's pretty cool for summer, herin
Pinki OBSCENE is the right word. It is damn cold and we have no heater
haha :) I'm on shore duty in northern Virginia now. I was stationed out of San Diego when I was on a ship.

Nothing really out of the normal, diane, but having got all my Xmas chores done I guess I let it all relax me a bit too much. One vodka on the rox before dinner. One glass of pinot grigio with a chicken vol au vent. Half a glass of South Australian "Stump Jump 2007 Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre" with a cranberry muffin, then a decaf.
re5 -- royal
