I was at the Festival on Saturday, doing Platform Steward for the Traditional music section. Don't ever listen to slow airs played on the violin if you're feeling at all down. I suggested handing out tissues at one point.

The funniest part of the day came when a little 7 year old boy was playing the harp (a cut down version). He had played the whole song one finger pluck at a time, but when it came to the end, he had to play a chord. There was a 5 second pause, huge concentration on his face, collective holding of breath and then TWANG - perfect!
I am sure you are going to have some really great stories to tell by the time it is all over. What news on the medal front?
It looks as though we're going to ignore the medals and just hand out first place badges instead. No doubt some irate mother will have something to say about it but I'll just remember all I was taught at diplomatic school and smooth things over.

Good Morning Everyone. I've already been out shoveling over an hour ago; but gave up and called work saying that there is NO WAY I can get there before noon. I have 15 inches of new heavy wet snow in my driveway. :-( Even the paper girl didn't make it through (and she delivered our paper through all of our snow storms all winter. The road isn't plowed either.

Yeah, I'm very familiar with ProTools, using those skills, if he wants to keep going with sound, but isn't finding work in studios, he could look at getting into theatre or film, I use ProTools to make sound effects, when I do sound designs for plays. He could look at assisting in a film studio editing foley work/adr/and soundscapes etc (he may have to start out making teas of course), or assisting a sound designer in theatre work. Or if he is looking at mixing, he can use his studio experience in that respect with smaller bands and musicals, and work his way in that way.
