ty s'mom, guess we are protected a bit by Vancouver Island, it did affect north/west bit of Vancouver Island, Tofino, but nothing serious
we are actually between mainland and Van. Island, in south west corner of BC
sammys -- sorry, I was away in the kitchen for a bit. No, we were not affected and are told we won't be. Out little island is sheltered by huge Vancouver Island to the west. The west coast there, though, may feel some effects. Thanks for asking!
glad to hear that.. my heart and prayers go out to those people

we can hashbrown this out m9
nice pic of her, jilli
Just noticed -- 205 gride and no S for handy plurals :-(
ty flosey -- yours too, but squished
yes, too lazy to resize
yours looks like peewee herman jilli
I thought you were toasted?
at least it didn't make her look fat!
is there any truth to the rumor about him?
yes, well, she did have her weight problems
and her alcohol problems,
and her drug problems,
and her men problems
and her therapy problems
ruru, you have to refresh -- Peewee was the clue icon from the last grid
poor Liza
(and her singing problems imho)
yeah.. he's just a phant in this one!
I heard he's changing his name to weewee herman
since he was caught red handed ..so to speak..
we went through all that this afternoon, ruru
oh.. missed it
sorry
too bad -- cos had a veryu rude joke you would have liked
think i"ll take my sicko humor and bad headache to bed
awww, ruru -- head worse again?
oh, still bad ru, that's nasty
I can't shake it
hope you feel better.
well yeah.. shaking a bad head never helps.
;-)
use ergotamine
*throws pillow at m9*
oof!
now now children!
sounds wrong coming from peewee
that's what i think
Peewee isn't here any more! I changed the icon!
Refresh or reenter!
(just humor her..)
LOL
refreshed... reading back... nope. doesn't sound right from Liza either
oh, ok m9 ;-)
you canucks aren't gettin' yer props here in gridland.... it doesn't take "aboot"
Canucks don't say "aboot" -- it's "aboat"
or somewhere inbetween??
aboat is about right
I got the nine.. but no 7 or 8
really?
I have zero 7s, 8s or 9s and I don't care just now
yup
have 1 x 7 and 1 x 9
stats for the 7??
to7/36
and it's odd
had all the other to words so gave up and used morewords to find it
an extension of the to4 before it
hmm
falling alseep with only 76 words found. Back tomorrow for a bit -- bridge intervening.

Flos ac and ou 8
tyty diz, looking

good goin
ty m9
but I had quite a head start on you tonight
i have 100 left
perhaps a good breaking point for me
I like even numbers - just a silly quirk
ooh... got the other 9
that's it, 50 for tomorrow
good night all
k! good night
hello everybody
hey ruby I was just about to quit
it's nice to see you, westford, it's been quite a while!
I know and it's nice to see you too
hi and nbt
I am watching for Spring, hoping I won't miss it!
been lurking once in awhile
hello joshua
oh me too so sick of winter
hi josh
the daffs are up and just forming buds, but it's been so dry that they wont open without some rain
the snow is finally gone and we can see where no grass is lol
no flowers yet at all not even crocuses
we are hoping to buy some sod because what used to be a lawn is just dirt now
many of my tulips are either blooming or about to bloom
the only flowers that are up are wild pale yellow primroses
any golf courses going out of business?
ours have leaves, but no budstulips, i.e.)
oh pretty josh
where are you now?
what color tulips do you have, josh?
poor husband is so allergic that Spring is very hard on him
can't bring anything into the house
hi all
can I have a stat for the u for NBT
hi sue
i am in nc - i have some daffodils, some orange and yellow ones, and some purple spring flowers
not sure of the name
i have ur4 and ur5 so far sue
I am in NC also
my husband buys me roses in the supermarket that are beautiful but have no scent whatsoever
are you done traveling josh?
got them, ty and off to bed
good night
and another ur5
i am not traveling at the moment
good night sue
what is it about roses with no scent..I love the smell
they remind me of my proms
and that was a long long time ago
I don't mind; some of the roses from my garden smell so strong that I have to keep the cut flowers outside on the deck
my mother had tea roses..they were so beautiful
i have a climbing rose plant on my back deck, i should probably get it under control somehow
they do tend to go haywire
do you have a trellis?
I have 5 f's all fe do you know what the last one is?
yes, that is what the plant has commandeered
commandeering roses what a picture lol
I have one climbing rose on a trellis and the plant keeps knoocking the trellis over
it's a function of my neglect as much as anything else
oh josh I heard through the grapevine that you are engaged. Congratulations !!
tyvm west
a beautiful garden ( Ruby's is definitely one ) takes tons of work
I have a guy (not a gardener) to help me. I point and tell him what to do. I just do the small stuff
I'd love to have a guy like that
he's a shlepper!
guys are good for shlepping sometimes
lol bet you do more than you're saying
what's his name?
once it gets warm, I like to sit on the ground and weed small patches
David
I was thinking Clem
clem??
clem, the shlepper?
kind of fits
sol the shlepper fits better
not too French though
how do you say shlep in French? hahah In South Africa, everybody says shlep, even Afrikaans-speakers
I thought that was Yiddish
shlep is yiddish. closest french word would be something like porter, to carry
it is yiddish but I think it has escaped the language barrier as it's such a descriptive word (as is so much yiddish!)
but porter is more dignified; shlep implies stuff falling out of a torn paper bag.....
lol perfect
in the rain
or a truck that spits black smoke
it's funny how yiddish words that my mother used come back to me as I get old
what's that Laverne and Shirley word?
would monkeys know it? Jewish monkeys?
sclrmeel west
that's it and hello praise
shlemiel shlemazel
hi west
hahaha
schmaltz is another good one
and schmaltz herring!!!!
I love herring
you can get herring here in restaurants but only occasional. It's served tepid with onions and boiled potatoes. Wonderful!
in cream sauce
Vita brand -- yes, I miss that!
can you get most seafood?
you can't get decent horseradish here, either
we are too far inland
aren't you close to Geneva?
yes, that is the closest synagogue.
can you grow horse radish?
Geneva restaurants have good seafood, but with all husband's health problems, Geneva has become too far away, even though it's less than an hour
oh that's too bad how is he doing?
what kind of drive is it? windy country roads or highways?
now he has a cold which has put him into a panic as he's afraid of getting pneumonia again. And his dreaded daughter is arriving on Thursday for a week.
it is highways, but impossible now
we are only 35 minutes from the Geneva airport, but I'm making his daughter take a bus!
mean Ruby!
the houseguest from hell?
Oh My Poor girl...I am sure she is horrid, but...
hello.
don't blame you ruby
hi red why are you up?
and a snoop, besides. I am now putting all my "sensitive correspondence" into innocuously named files like "dog Food Recipes"
Going to work fairly soon.
oh that's not good it's the weekend
Sprite suggested that I mark files "Private" and then put in nasty messages which she would be too embarrassed to mention
Its a 24/7 job so not too surprising for me.
good suggestion..is she nosy?
people are not allowed to get sick on weekends
don't they know that?
Nosy does make for a bad houseguest. I gotta say nothing my parents do makes me nosy...
I wish West, I wish the not sick ool would just stay away.
very nosy and not to be trusted and the guestroom is on the same level as my studio with it's computer
its* duh
just put her to work and she'll be too tired to snoop
I'm going to make her prune the roses!
she can help Clem
indeed she can prune roses.
red, we still haven't heard whether we scored tickets to the launch but we think we're going to go anyway
I already told her she'd have to do housework because housekeeper is taking a one-month holiday (I've never had a one-month holiday in my life) to Reunion
uh oh, husband is afoot! see you later
bye (( ruby)) nice to see you again
You should go anyway, I never even though about getting "tickets" to a launch. there are plenty of places to go see it...jetty Park etc.
you sound like Sherlock lol
good luck RUby.
I'll let you know so we can get together after we're planning to stay in the area for a few days
Also, if you are not selected to have tickets to the launch, for a medium price, you can often join a "tour bus" for the evening and they can get you in closer.
oh that's a great idea
I had to deal with my unpleasant houseguest who was obsessed with the Space Shuttle and the Space Center last year, so I have a few tips.. LOL
I remember.
Yes! Babble saved me.
lol
are you happy not to be moving around any more?
Oh Yes, I am . Still trying to purchase a short sale here, but I am very very pleased to be in the same place.
it's nice to be settled
are you trying to buy the place you're in now?
I'm in an apartment now, just trying to get a smaller townhome. It was very nicely done with a lot of custom granite, but the housing market is quite bad in Florida, so I can get a good deal...
that sounds very nice
I thought it was the law that when you turned 65 you had to move to FL..
It's funny though, I feel very stressed as I hear it may start on closing next week...and then I actually have to move, not contemplate moving!
LOL! our town's median age is 36!
moving can be stressful can you keep the place you're in and move gradually?
I think I will have to...and all will be well....I just got a good eval at work and such...
But then yesterday I had a complete and utter meltdown at work, so that causes me panic, but it was such a bad day.
and we have had so many bad days lately.
well of course you would
I think in the end all will work out. whatever anxiety I have has been a bit stirred up.
I meant of course you'd get a good eval not that you'd have a meltdown
I thought that.
One can never be sure in evaulation time!
oh good lol
sometimes it's good to blow up
it rather alarmed my manager. But like I said, it had been a very difficult week...
patients or staff?
Combination of both, and some strange things...
ah well all will work out. How is Rhode Isand?
RI is broke lol Poor Lincoln Chaffee has his work cut out
it's getting warmer though so that will help the mood
this is true. My Sister seems to have kept her teaching job which is a miracle. (since she teaches Art)
West/Red! how nice to see you both!
oh that's good to hear I hate that they've taken away so much of that
morning all :)
Hi Lynxxx! and sprite!!!
hi Sprite
hi lyn and sprite
Indeed West. She got the letter the teachers all got in Providence.. and was concerned, as her husband is not working much lately.
I can't go now.
oh my what a lovely company to join!
that was such a bad deal red
let's hold hands and skip in a circle
isn't it Sprite
things are difficult, but I am pleased she for the moment has a job.
OK hand holding commenced.
*joining the circle*
What have you been up to West - You leave the Summer house and we don't see you!
is Terra here too?
holed up for the winter like a bear lyn lol
no Terra is downstairs with my love :)
why on earth do I see 'nocturne' in this grid?
we look forward to seeing your happy Summer face then
well how about Stewie and Teilu?
not sure if I spelled those correctly
Stew is fine, has calmed down a LOT these last 6 or so months
we turn the clocks back tomorrow that always makes me happy
hate the doldrums
lyn did you rescue him?
I thought the clocks were turned forwards in spring?
me too
hi praise
oh oh you're right fall back spring ahead
Not so much a rescue as the owners give them up if they are no good at racing. He was given up when he was 2.5 years so I guess he was a dud
I would have been so late lol
hi Praise
spring forward--fall back
that's good lyn that they didn't just put him down
I hate turning the clocks forward, lol, that is why I remember. I mean come on... getting up before you are ready, eating before you are hungry, going to bed before you are sleepy? Messing with my rhythm, and it is bad for me.
hi lynxxx
how old is he now?
6 (already!)
I hear you sprite who came up with that idea anyway?
and Stew has a wonderful life with lyn
6 wow where does the time go?
yes, I must run.
I have no idea, west. Here they say it is for the farmers. But I don't see the logic or need.
and how old is baby Terra?
I think Daylight Saving is a wonderful idea
lol Baby Terra is 2 yo already! Fully grown and even no longer an adolescent.
yes, farmers get up early enough as it is I'm sure they'd like to sleep in
bye red, have a good run
bye Red
why is that, lyn?
bye (( red )) have a happy day
I think we are ruled by the clock (especially when working) I love, love the daylight hours until 9.30 in the Summer
I love that too
I think DLS actually proves how much we are managed by clocks. The daylight hours are simply there, even if we didn't change the clock time.
once though when we live in Key West it was still light at 10:30 and it was impossible to get the baby to sleep
that was when we only had one
Yes but I don't think many people take advantage of extended daylight hours before school and work in the morning - it is so much easier to do things (especially as a family) when you have a good 3/4 hours in the evening
well I am prejudiced, I know. I have trouble enough keeping everything in balance as it is, and DLS messes up my system very badly for quite some time.
I'd like to be a cat..eat when you're hungry, sleep when you're tired and purr when you're happy
and spit and growl once in awhile lol
I'm afraid it would take me too long to groom myself though
I second that, west! I know I would be so much healthier in a rural setting, in a much simpler life. When the kids are grown, I am really gonna try for that.
and those fur balls - yuck!
lol west! The time it took wouldn't be as bad as all those hairs in your mouth!
lol
your idea sounds idyllic sprite
well I will keep you up to speed then :)
how old are your children sprite they must be almost grown now
they are 13 and almost 15 now.
wow
two teenagers !!
wow is right
amazing, isn't it! You guys have 'known' them for about 7 years now! That is for half of their lives.
for me only 5 but they were just kids even so
our youngest granddaughter just turned 5 seems like yesterday she was born
yes the difference is so big. From children to teenagers, it is a different world.
aw west, congratulations and how sweet!
You heard we lost Nancy Boy a month or so ago West - talking about children
I did sprite I was so very sad
he was sunshine personified
he was like the son of babble, in a way. I think we all felt very protective towards him and enjoyed his sunny personality.
never ever had a cross word or thought about anyone
as I have posted on babanon, he was a beautiful soul who has been dealt a rotten hand of cards. Too bad the good die young.
yes it is I wonder if someday his parents will realize what they threw away
I doubt it, to be honest. Too firmly stuck to their beliefs and prejudices.
yes it seems so
I hear my teenager son has awoken, at noon, so I am gonna hug him.
give him an extra hug from me too
Tell him to get up..lazy boy..LOL..hello, All :-)
and since it is 6:15 a.m. here and I haven't been to bed yet I think I will say bye for now
hi Zooz
hi ((zooz))
and bye ((lyn)) and ((sprite)) so nice to see everyone again
Good gosh, West...you need your sleep..hope you sleep well :-)
lol zooz I think I won't have any trouble
Good morning/night West! sleep well - good to see you haven't changed, lol
lol
hey zooz! Well all good intentions out of the window... he came out of bed and got into a fight with his dad within 5 minutes. Two angry males in da house now...
night west *hugs* It was great to see you!
it was great to see you and lyn and zooz too and now *poof*
Oh dear..not good news..Spritey, i am sure it will blow over.
I must go too - we went out to dinner and I am full to bursting with marinara linguini and white wine - I must go and sleep it off. Keep well all, bye
how lovely, lyn :) Enjoy and sleep well.
Sweet dreams, Lynxxx :-)
it always does, zooz! Normal male teenager/daddy behaviour.
bye lynzzz
Hello, Praise :-)
you know, this grid started out so very very easy and now it is rising an ugly tail!
hi zooz
I agree sprite
it's only that it always scares me, fighting. Those angry voices get my panic hormones up as if I was involved. Stupid ptsd :(
sorry sprite
thanks praise, I am getting better though :) Therapy is working.
glad to hear it
had a lot of yjat in home when I was a kid
no fun
that I mean
am sorry, praise. Must have left its mark on you as well, I think.
yes it did
parents divorced when I was 13
Sorry to hear that, Praise, my parents divorced when i was 9..then re-married when i was 12..hard times then.
back for a minute
Hello, Ruby :-)
my parents divorced when I was 7. Hi rubyfoo :)
re-married to another person i should add.
More wide spread than people realise.
mom remarried when I was almost 16
I am glad my parents divorced, but they have hated eachother very actively for the next 25 years at least. So that was not good.
I was very lucky; nobody was ever visibly angry when I was growing up.
of course, it left me unable to express anger, but that's the price, I guess
nor tangibly, rubyfoo? Because hidden anger is even more scary, often.
my 1st husband still hates me and we've been apart 40 years!
we divorced when my son was 8,. he no longer sees his father, hasnt for years. father didnt like it cuz his son had "problems"
isn't it horrifying, the way people can hang on to hate?
Hello, Ivesy :-)
oh my, ivesy :( Am so very sorry, for you and your son. That is a painful blow.
I am so tired; husband is sick again and it's hard to tell if he's really sick or just being dramatic
Sad to hear that, Ivesy :-(
morning zoo, morning all
darn rubyfoo, that is tough. Any chance to let a doctor decide?
{{big,encompassing hug for sprite, zzoozz, ivesey}}
I have no confidence in either of his doctors
yes, but he missed the part where son got his life back on track! beat the prob. yes he struggles, but fights it everyday.
your son is a hero then, ivesy, and his mum is too. And alas, his dad is a coward.
Good for him, Ivesy!
yay for ivesy's son!
ty, and yes i agree.. total coward..his loss
Yes you are so right, Ivesy, you should be proud of yourself too, Ivesy.
in an aside, I refuse to believe this grid has 1. more than 130 words, 2. has any 8s and 3. let alone has any 9s!
Sorry to hear that , ruby, in what way is he sick as in being sick?
its been a long road, but well worth the fight. !
well, i need my morning cups of coffee bfor work. my sat. too work
love has won the ba6, ivesy, and you led the way.
aww ty sprite, i like that
have a good day, ivesy! *hugs*
I think it's just a cold, but he's groaning and miserable. He can't take "cold medicines" because he has glaucoma, so I bought some homeopathic things at the pharmacy,: coper, zinc and some little pills
Take care, Ivesy :-)
hugs to all, have a good day , cya later
I trust the pharmacist who seems smarter than either MD!
bye ivesy
aw rubyfoo, even if it is just a cold, he will be so scared. And unable to show it any other way than being a pain in the youknowwhat. Can't you get anyone to help you?
of course, it's Saturday!
lol yes rubyfoo. I think this kinda proves you need more sleep. Make arrangements for yourself to get it! (oh dear I am preaching again to you... can't seem to not to)
I'm OK; I get my sleep, no matter what!
You will have to be strong. Give him his medicine, take a nap, then see how he is, see the pharmacist and see what she says.
I am selfish about that, but if I don't get enough sleep, I am useless to everyone
I am not very good at giving advice i`m afraid..lol
come on, that is not selfish. That is sound thinking. Great going :)
but you are supportive, and that's what counts! And much-loved!
I just called the "shlepper" to tgive me a hand with carrying wood, etc.
me neither, zooz. Just pretty ok when it comes to making people think a bit differently.
wow rubyfoo, you are really doing great. Am so glad to hear you are taking care of YOU as well :)
Spritey beat me to it, how can you say you are selfish..you are loving to your husband, he does not show it in ways you want..as he is scared, but he does love you that i am sure..you are doing great, Spritey, you just need to look after yourself also.
is carlet a mini-mini-cooper?
it should be! Just as a small city should be a to4let.
o barlet a home plce to get a drink?
Not heard of it..and thanks for making me try it in the grid..lol
thanks zooz :)
like where I live hahah
have you got the baby 2000 lbs then, ruby?
hiya hursh :) And I keep trying for owlet.
well that one works, sprite
Hello, Hurshy :-)
not yet, hurshy, monkeys are looking. the ending gave me co6 however, so thanks
hi all
ow6 works, sprite!
she means ow5
thanks for the ow5 :-)
raton laveur is raccoon in French. Isn't that funny?
can't spell, can't count, hahah
oh my I apologise! *crawls shamefaced into the PB and tears open a big potato chips bag*
oh that is the same in dutch, rubyfoo! Wasbeer... washing bear.
hehe
we know you didn't mean to, sprite! :)
no wonder it didn't take, lol... it had already taken the first time!
very cu**
you guys are the best
only 85 words but I have to go and check on the fire. Lovely and happy chat, thank you all
Babble is funny, Spritey gets put into the PB for doing wrong..yet we reap the benifits with no punishments..muaaahhaaaa
bye rubyfoo, take care and all the best
sounds fair to me and she gets the chips!
Take care, Ruby :-)
hehehe that is the fun, zooz. That is why you are expected to keep the PB filled with goodies :)
but the whole reason is that some of us don't consider it a benefit. it robs us the joy of finding the words.
I do agree,Hurshy, well untill i get stuck :-)
I know, hursh. It is inevitable that it happens, but I try very hard not to be the one to do it.
these things must come, but woe unto him through whom they come...
beautifully severely put :P
you said it and it reminded me of the quote - i thought you might have had it in mind also
didn't know the quote but I love it!
well i think i got it right but, roughly, anyway, that's what jesus said regarding judas.
Well nice chatting to you , All, but i need to go for a while, will be back later.
so, accidental word posting really doesn't compare.
bye zooz
bye for now, zooz, and have a sunny day *hug*
true, hursh. Did you see the brother of Jacula is in the grid? (cryptic clue)
thanks, don't know that word, and very nice clue!
:D
top L tip: try things you don't expect to work
nice one too :)
we all do our bit :)
found the def of Jac's bro. It is the plural to the os priapi in most mammals :)
and what might the os priapi be?
the penis bone
aha
i didn't know it had a bone.
not in humans, it seems
ah, that would explain why i didn't know, then.
nor did I. The things we learn from babble...
you'd have to be a zoologist, or a perv
or a babbler with a good memory
well that too
once i saw my cat's - he had put it out to clean it. but it made me wonder how cats ever manage to make kittens.
I hope mamma puss to be enjoys it. They say cats do... as opposed to most female animals. I have no idea how they know, though.
really, i thought cats did NOT enjoy it? oh well. mine are all spayed/neutered so have not had to deal with that.
see how little we know. Does realising that make us wise?
oh thanks for the ne6
the thing that is so weird to me is that male cats generally are known for behaving in undesirable ways if they are not neutered, and i simply cannot imagine my sweet little marty ever being like that, had he not been. not MARTY.
ha, i hadn't gotten to N yet. lol
hehehe I am afraid he would, though. I mean, Terra is the sweetest dog you can imagine. Listens perfectly. But once he gets a whiff of a lady dog in heat, he is offfffff. And deaf to us.
i think politicians should have to be ne6ed.
the male ones, i mean
hm it is an idea. Can I start with Wilders then? *holds up two big-sized rocks*
i mean doesn't it just make sense? look at all the sex scandals that distract us from the issues. gone.
have two or three kids if you want 'em, then start your political career.
we have pretty little of that here. Once, I believe, with Lubbers, but that was minor.
testosterone seems to prevent men from thinking straight in general. and don't you think we'd then have far less war?
I would be inclined to agree, but I have seen how awfully cr5 women can be. So I doubt it.
they CAN, but on average - i mean look at all that stuff from the third world, about how if a man gets money, it gets spent on beer and tobacco and stuff. if a woman gets money, it gets spent on food and education for the children. that's why many nonprofits are focusing their microloans and other efforts on women.
'All generalisations are dangerous, even this one'
I know that men and women are differently wired, but I believe them to be morally equal.
hi City!
Hey Sprite, hi everyone
God, I couldnt remember for the life of me the site of this place... sigh all the old info is on my long dead laptop... good to be back
w to feed the puzzle craving brain!
fireflies :) Nasty grid... lu4s you in with promises of easiness and stings you in the butt once you are in full fly. Hi MissO, welcome back!
morally equal, yes. practically equal, no. women couldn't do as much when simply surviving primitive dangers, hunting for food, etc, were the order of the day.
thatnks Sprite <3
yep, it is more about circumstances and opportunity than about moral differences. Put women in power and they play the same kind of games men do.
have to be off, have fun all and enjoy your Saturday. *hugs*
bye sprite
wow, i just realized i went through the grid tile by tile and haven't found a single one of the long words!
It must be that sort of grid, Hurshey... I've just found my first 8 after 120 words, and don't even have a 7 yet...
i don't think i like this sort of a grid.
i mean i know i don't like grids with a sizable word count and no S, anyway.
As Sprite said, it lu4/5's you into thinking it's easy, and then turns out to be a withholder.
I keep adding my own 's'; ironic really, since when the grid *has* an 's', I miss all the plural words.
You talk about thegrid asif it'salive!!
*pokes it* ... there, it moved!
We hadthese words yesterday. Why does it do that?
if i walk to get donuts, that makes up for the calories of eating them, wouldn't you say?
lol, I don't know Hurshy... are you walking to the kitchen or the shop?
outarc
the shop, about a mile away
grr, sorry
if it doesn't count, you don't have to be sorry
I reckon that's a donut's worth of walking, yes.
*grins* if it doesn't count, I always feel it's a waste of a slip
the only trouble is that i live on a steep hill, so that at the very end of the walk, i have the worst bit. it always discourages me.
Tell yourself that's the donut part of the walk.
You can burn off the middle.
Time for lunch... enjoy your donut and your walk, Hurshy. Bye Kaplan and everyone.
name that proper noun....rocker mr john
did i chase everyone away?
I'm here. I'm just wording.
hi kaplan, did you see "name that proper noun" at 6:49?
Good morning all. Bacon, egg and cheese biscuits for all. Just egg and cheese for Kap.
Elton!!
ding ding ding
I don't really like eggs andcheese. I'll have a bran muffin and coffee.
Okay, fiber for Kap. I consider it a good day when I've found both the 9's before 8AM. : )
good for you, Molly
I insist that we had these words yesterday.
That bunch of e's makes it feel that way Kap.
this babble expert thing makes it too tempting to go to the list
But I realize I can hide it also.
I moved it to the left andnow I can't see it.
It is cool to have it right there though.
morning, all!
Just stopping in briefly - need to pack and leave for the airport in about 2 hours...
Hi Sue, have a safe trip.
Ditto.
thx, Molly! I checked the flooding situation again and it looks like the route from the airport to my dad's place is fine.
The weather out here on the East coast is lovely. Should be a nice drive from the airport.
nbt but all my words are short (no 7, 8, or 9)
Obviously the 9's are compounds- I just haven't figuredout from where yet
No clues yet.
the ou 9 is .. lets see, not inner but ***** plus an article of clothing worn over clothes
thx, ivesy!
another name that proper noun...henry ***** lodge
anytime
cabot

uu, How is your Dad coming along?
tks mom.. later peeps
He's doing really well! He's been completely on his own for almost a week now; the visiting nurses have released him as he no longer needs their help.
wonderful news, uu
Uusue .... al 9/60 ... to change + actress **** Blanchett
it wont take cabot
excellent news uusue
great clue, Mom
no looney, it won't ... it is a proper name. Good morning
thx, mom! Never saw that as a verb but I guess it makes sense.
thanks Annie
you're welcome uusue
gm thank you mom
looney...it is not supposed to take cabot...that is the idea ...proper nouns are not accepted
cattle
thanks Looney
oops
ok, time to shower and pack. bbl for a bit, then to the airport!
bye uu, have a safe trip
Mom, you and I think alike. When I got the al9, I was thinking a good clue would be "other personality of actress Blanchette". : )
that would have been a good clue Molly
bye bye ((uusue)) safe travels
I agree with what Hursh said earlier. This many words and no "s" is tough.
morning, folks
good morning Welki
hello welki
ou 6 and 8 ... compound words that I would never thought of as compound words
not in + consume
that one pops up from time to time ... and who considers it a competition? *lol*
lol welki
thanks again, Mom
you're welcome Annie
phew. back.

damn *goes to pb*
yes RNA - it's a game you play to help scientists
ca4/5 and 5/12
Some rule about names not sending you to the PB, JMC. I believe you are safe on that one.
is it like the folding at home that crossy and I promote for everyone in babbleland?
hi all
hi peri
thought up the idea of the PB in the first place?
yeah, but you don't have to download this game like you do with Foldit.
Someone who enjoys punishing Peri. : P
what's the site, hurshy?
i think the rule is that if the name is in the grid but not in the list you don't go
google eterna if you want to check it out
thanks
i will do that hursh
You are probably right JMC. I generally thumb my nose at rules, so I don't pay much attention to them. : )
i think the pb is good clean fun and a helpful tool to remind newbies
i know jacula and others would argue for it to be a harsh place but ...eh
It's fun to catch. Like saying the secret word on "You Bet Your Life" but instead of the duck and the 100 bucks, you get jail time.
It's a place to eat.
*shoves molly into pb for ru4/5s*
exactly kap
Let's open up a cafe called The Penalty Box.
be nice, jmc, no shoving
rules are made to be broken
*hangs head in shame* but she was thumbing her nose
n ole
*shoves in peri too*
:-D
Does thumbing your nose mean picking it?
Nope, I am not going to PB
shakespearian reference of insult
egads
no it is like the biting you thumb in romeo and juliet
does thumbing of the nose mean
But-but-but
egads a revolution!

You need to go to bed, Missy.

Sweet! Best seat for the best passenger!
And I will give him a hug, car. I am off to New Jersey again to spend a few days with my dad, crossy.
upgraded? how how how!
He misses me :-(
tell the stews to make sure the champers is chilled
I have over a million miles on American, so am permanently gold in their frequent flyer program; I can buy upgrades for $30 per 500 miles (so the trip to Newark costs $60) and then if first class isn't full they will upgrade me.
do a pit stop here sue and i will cook you up my famouse crossy canadian north woods breakfast
TO, the baby version of your name is in the grid!
Sue...you let me know if you EVER need any help using up those miles!!! Woweeeeee!
So it is a matter of picking unpopular flights :-)
lol aloy - does enable take that?
wowsa. i am jealous, i covet your miles.
.. have mileage envy
Sounds yummy, crossy, I will tell the captain to drop me off :-)
yes, it does, TO !
DOH
collingwood airport sue,it takes those exec jets no problem lol
Oh, I've used them all up - I traveled a lot to Europe when I was doing research there, but after I got divorced and was a single mom I had to take my son with me all the time; that used up the miles faster than I was earning them.
just call when you land and we will stop at the farm for a flat of brown eggs and some peameal bacon;)
we have bacoon in the grid.. close
mmmm
but for program purposes they keep track of all the miles you've earned (even if you've redeemed them) and once it passes a million you get a prize :-)
crossy does not like phantom bacon;((
Sounds delish, crossy, you'd better be careful or I really will show up some time!
there is no substitute for the real thing.. bacon
lol, but a hint for the bandit animal
lol, breakfast fixings are always ready round here
ty aloy
.. (-:
you can make a bacon ta4
incidentally, TO, we have some ow4's that nest in the woods near the university, and are expecting babies any time.
ooh, what kind?

wow! must tend to laundry. bbs

#1 computer maintinence tip of the day: if you are using a tower computer, once a month unplug it,take off side cover, ground yerself, remove 2 inch cpu fan that is over cpu chip(some have 4 screws, some are held on by a clip) and under that is the heat sink that the fan cools which in turn keeps your computers brain cool.cclean out the dust bunnies with a toothpick
morning everyone!
especially if you have kitties like we do
howdy angela
There is a pretty funny video of someone trying to do this with a laptop, crossy (it is nearly impossible, at least with the model he had).
Morning, Angela!
i do not recommed you take a lappy apart
couldn't you use that air spray stuff, crossy? blast the bunnies! (hope Scrabbs doesn't see this post, lol)
no kidding aloy - you would be in trouble :)
ok, latest update on the ongoing soap opera is in my profile, including a funny story about how my dad figured out to get his trash to the curb :-)
definitely! hi Angela
i do not like the spray cans aloy,i have seen moisture come out of those on several occasions
And I need to get going - will probably check back in once I am at the airport.
tc sue
have a smooth trip, sue
see ya sue!
i use, toothpicks, ultra soft make up brushes and a electronics vacuum
but grounding is all important!
ooh, not good - toothpick time then
ground your self with a computer grounding strap or rub your hand on the side of the computer for a moment to remove any static charge
phone.. brb
you can triple the life of your computer if you do this once a month..takes only ten minutes
good morning, everyone :)
howdy cybernan

ill bring brekkies TO
just had some low carb pancakes here...yummy!
Looking at the chog I saw crossy's tip about cleaning out the pc with a toothpick. That reminded me of my 4 year old granddaughter last night. As we were walking up to a local eatery she informs me that they have Q-tips that we can ask for in case we get anything stuck in our teeth. lol
I'll throw a few in the PB if you want...
heven help me when the day comes(and it will) when i have to worry bout pancake carbs..;(
lol nonnie
ty. i am craving french toast
the mrs has me lined up for a colesterol, stress and lipid tests
I'm trying to satisfy food cravings without totally carbing out...

i did that crossy but gained too many lbs on the way...
crossy h ave you don that?
na not on bacon nan
yummy with bacon and french toast
you are officially my husband's hero for the bacon weave idea crossy...
:))
no, nan, that is for oatmeal and pancakes. i don't eat meat with pancakes or french toast, for some reason
but i am too lazy to go out to mc d's to get some pancakes
and there are so many varriations to the weave angela, you can take half finished weave, line it with cheese and stuff it with scrambled eggs and finish baking it in a log form
then slice it in 2 inch disks
*listens in awe*
reading...eyes glazing over...drooling a bit... Wait - ok I'm back...
only 9,000 calories a slice;)

OMG!
ooohhh, Les Mis, The Wiz, Chorus Line . . .
yes, lillian

Hi all. Clue for the ac 8? please

saw Miss Saigon in its first run on Broadway with Lea Salonga -- may have to go dig up the CD
oh ys, a chorus line... i saw that its first week on broadway... and yes,. i DID like cats :Q
we sat first row balcony and it was like WE were reaching for the helicopter!!

I walked out on Cats.

yeah Annie. she has good taste
*breathes a sigh of relief* maybe that was the difference
some shows just don't travel well . . .
I am not a fan of Andrew Lloyd Weber
I'd rather watch paint dry that see Cats again
me neither annie
but annie, you saw it on broadway, right? and walked out.. oh well
Yes, I saw Cats from the front row mezzanine and walked out..
and Dorens and I LOVED Spamalot!!!!
gosh i am only half way and should finish... need to drive out to lonGisland to visit my aunt who is 88 and in hospital, before going to the city
oh, annie!!!
Spamalot was a joy

i saw cats 30 odd years ago in london when i was a young teenager. i liked it but i was abit confused at times. oliver is the best musical i've ever seen live, but i do love to watch sound of music
205
One of the dramas that was wonderful was Doubt
thanks
oohhh, and Ain't Misbehavin' was incredible!!
now, see, I was disappointed in Doubt :-(
i had the soundtrack (LP) to oliver and sang my heart out... as long as he needs me... talk about abusive relationships!!
yes it was, and black and blue was good too
lol
ac8 sounds abit like when you try to find an answer to a maths aquation science
used to love the musicals with Tommy Tune, like My One and Only . . . sigh
*equation
sorry not seeing it
but ty
but add another vowel in it science
une!! when in miiami with my friend we go to yoga on the beach (right outside her back door) and tommy tune is in that class nearly every weekend... he is the nicest guy! (sorry ru)
more dramas: Torch Song Triogy and Agnes of God
sorry, i can't think how to clue it
*Trilogy
oh, dorens, that's so good to know -- I've always been afraid he was arrogant :-)
Une, yes, torch song and agnes of god were great
<----loses nicest guy status now
well, put me back up that notch and then you'll get it back
also really enjoyed all of Spalding Gray's monologue pieces
arrogant? not in the least... so friendly to everyone there, and some people don't even know who he is
<---not budging on Cats..
science, try this- a and ***ottes(trousers that look like a skirt), vowel and consumed
so cool, dorens!
got it ty! Never saw that word before
also saw him in Grand Hotel
you don't have to like it ru, but you gently moved me down a notch.. you can move me back up... we can agree to disagree, no? I mean. some people prefer california cabs and others french burgundies
yw
not till you promise to never mention Cats again.
lol
dorens, his website says he did this in 2009: Mr. Tune marks his 50th year in show business with his latest work, Steps In Time, A Broadway Biography in Song and Dance. (never heard of it . . . )

I did "okay" doren -- could have done some things better, other parts... well let's just say that had people been LISTENING and PAYING ATTENTION most of their questions were in fact answered during the presentation. ;-)

had to make brekkie for mrs ru
I am going to post my paper to my website today I think. I want to put it up as a PDF so it's not so easy for people to "lift" -- part of my wanderings through the research were about how people are plagiarizing so much more than they use to.

nice
New Jersey again, boo, to spend a few more days with my dad
nice...
I think this is the most time we've spent together since I was 17!
(and we are getting along much better now than we were then!)
best way for an adult child to make up with his or her parents is to move out! lol
that's nice.. family time is the best time
right, crossy! and the passage of time (40+ years) helps too.
you fight like cats and dogs under the same roof, then when you move out they spend the rest of thier lives inviting you over for dinner ;0
actually it had been a year and a half since I had visited him, and he preferred short visits then - now longer is better.
wife and i are already fighting over our sons room ..lol i want a man cave, she wants a book nook
well, my son painted his room dark blue, not sure anyone will want it :-)
that what wainscotting and tongue and groove is for;)

no,no man cave as of yet;(
sounded like you'd done it, or is it your dream cave, perhaps?
i have built it many times in my mind
and have helped other make their man caves
I could picture just how you described it, so clearly...
brass wall clock, maybe a old ships wheel all polished and burnished on a stand, perhaps a mahogony world globe with a mini bar in it,and a small wood stove in the corner
one wall with books to the ceiling with one of those old fasioned libraty ladders on wheels
ac
wing back chairs...
antique desk in the corner
smell of bacon and cigars wafting gently... ;p
snifters of brandlu glowing in the lamp loght...
brandy
light
this is a classy mancave, not like most want, lots of pleather and a giant TV

Hubby often cooks at the weekend
I like beef stews and chicken and of course pasta

Thanks. I have no intention of seeing him. I just wanted to confirm my suspicions. Je

have you read Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer? It's enough to make you give up meat altogether
almost, that is
I am afraid for California.....with all the natural disasters happening everyone...Cal has to be in the mix sometime
My d.i.l. has the book. I really couldn't give up meat, but I don't usually eat beaf, just poultry and lamb

and everybody talks about "The Big One"
teepee
The last earthquake in the Bay area was before the kids came to college here
the whole 2012 issue....its not far away and look what has been happening with our earth
I eat much less meat than I used to, but still get occasional strong cravings for organ meats....
the tsunami hit, California earlier knocked a few boats about, but nothing more as far as i could tell on the news.

hello boo and well done :)
Woo-hoo Boo!
i'm fed up with 85 left
I don't understand why some grids are liked and others are not- they all seem to have the same amount of letters
46.
it's the combinations and permutations, kap
I like them all until I get fed up!
They are all annoying after a certain point.
you going to finish do you think Glan?
And it was not a real question.
In some grids, the words just jump out at you and say 'type me, type me'. Other grids, the words hide and lurk......
probably not, there are going to bed noises coming from the other room so i can finally settle down
ah, on edge...understandable
I know- I just repeat that after a certain point, they are all annoying.
and annoyed!
a grid is a grid is a grid
something happened, apart from the obvious Glan?
not really. I'm just babbling.
just selfishness and insensitivity
couldn't agree more kap
nothing new then Glan
nothing new - it's just that i have had a break for a while so it felt more annoying
yep makes sense ;(
Still the chair is just as comfy in my room as it was downstairs.
I meant to ask you, how on earth did you get it up the stairs?
Trying to decipher the chog here... Are you talking spouses or offspring?
to my great unhappiness
my son carried it upstairs for me on wednesday
ah forgot he was there.

OH GLAN. (No apologies for Capitals)..... Wow!

thanks soodle, didn't have that one
thx sood, didn't think that's a word
Golly Glan! Are you a saint?
No. And wishing I was a murderess.
laptop and AVG are not communicating well tonight - half the messages i post to chog don;t appear
ROFL... OK, so your not a saint. Your human!!
um that's odd glan
yes it's been doing it all evening - it just keeps dropping out of the internet but the error message is that AVG search can't find the server
you logged on to front or back?
anyway, it's finally gone quiet after 20 minutes fo doors opening & closing and other noises, and i am 2/3 of the way through the grid - my usual taregt so i am off to bed -
makes no difference where i log in - it must be the laptop - my AVG free trial runs out tomorrow so it;s probably related
ok, goodnight, hope you sleep well...give me a call tomorrow if you can?
OK will do - night night all
night
I'm off too
night soodle and whoever else is around
Good night Kalia and Glan. Sweet dreams

geez, the extension of the word i didn't think was a word! thx sood
Your very welcome Shirl :-)
That terrible bus crash in New York was on our news today, Shirl... how dreadful!
Quiet in Babbleonia tonight. Oh gads, I didn't see the news about the bus crash. The Japan news is depressing enough.
a whole lot of tragedy this weekend
My kids take that bus all the time.
The footage coming through from Japan is just shockingly unbelievable. Those poor people.
Then a family was murdered in the occupied territories- the parents, the 3 year old, the 4 month old, the 11 year old- two or three kids survived
Japan is sickening to behold. Buildings cars and boats and people engulfed
Whats the occupied territories, Kap?
Israel/Palestine. They were settlers.
Horror is apolitical.
ba6?
They were all knifed in their sleep. The kid coming home from some kind of school trip found them. Blood everywhere.
Sorry, it''s too disgusting.
Depressing everywhere. All of our little lives...
Oh, my. Man's inhumanity together with Mother Nature's wrath is just too much too take sometimes.
Nuclear disaster.
Sorry Shirl... BA 6.... ba and Brahms Stokers monster dra****
thx again sood
Dodgy clue, Shirl... Glad you got it.
After all this doom and gloom, I am going to bed, to sleep, perchance to dream. Good night alll.

Hello Annie, how are you tonight?
Hi Molly, fine and you? I am struggling with this grid
Me too, I'm just picking at it here and there in between dishes and laundry.
That' s a good plan
can I get a clue for the first re 6/18 ?
If I understand you, I say "I can re6/19"
I can read you, no that's not it
yes it is, annie
Communication is a way that people re6/18 to each other.
got it, thanks, Molly
Good for you Annie. I was going to go for the cheap clue that contained "not early" : )

Having a nice weekend. And you?
Well I went to bed at 6pm and woke up at 10

Oh. I mistook your use of "shattered". Sorry.
Opps Shattered = tired
Hi!
Himself came to bed and looked at me and I was dead to the world. He didn't even bother trying to move me off his side of the bed so he slept on the couch
Hi Caree
