morning all.
How nice to see you spreity inbetween the red bars of doom :(
is it bad today, FM? Lovely to see you too!
It started about 20 mins ago but was getting slower and slower before that. Nice grid tho' so far ...
and why the heck isn't 'tuttle' valid? Looks english, sounds english...
argh now my posts are not showing :(
it is so frustrating when the site doesn't work properly. So far so good here though... *keeps fingers crossed*
oh there they are - going to take a break and hope things improve, sorry to leave you.
np FM, I fully understand. *hugs*
HI
lolllll the theme is in the grid today! As is UFO. (and stfu but that isn't nice) Hiya lady :)
How is it going?
okayish. Too much stress I cannot do anything about and too little energy left to do the things I have to do. But trying to find the balance. And you?
Let go what you can't change
can't, hun. It is the neighbours adding to their house, which shares a wall with ours.
Ok can you compromise? Do you mind me asking what they are going?
Ok can you compromise? Do you mind me asking what they are going?
OPPS Doing (maybe they should be going)
they are going to have their house made bigger. The living room will be extended into their garden during the next month or so.
Ok so it is a noise thing?
Can't you compromise with them and ask them to be no noise before 9 and after 5?
yes, noise and privacy thing. A bit harder to cope with when having ptsd, but it will be okay. They will keep me up to date what to expect, so I am prepared.
Ok As for Privacy are you renting or do you own?
noise will start at 7 am, the builders will leave every day around 16.00, and then the neighbours themselves will do what they can during the evenings.
we own. Well, the bank does, lol.
Ok I have a suggestion for the privacy. Do you like the neighbours?
yes they are nice people
Ok what you do is by some Lattice Fencing and put it as a topper to the fence. Or you could ask them to go halves in having the fence height increased
You could also cover the top of the lattice in a neutral shade cloth as a blocker
oh I wish! But the fence has to go during the building. My love managed to move it, we hope it will hold for about a month. But after that, I will have a real wall where part of the fence used to be. That is very private :)
once the work is done, I will have a cozy little corner in our garden where it will be great to sit and sun, even with the tiniest bit of sun and warmth. So that is a plus :)
Ok so how about um some sort of errrrrr temp thing
You know that you can also decorate said wall to make it less ugly
I am going to be really anti social during the work. I am going to keep my curtains closed and if I can, I will wear earplugs too.
Yuk but at least they are a lot polite on the moving
O and teh other thing is you could get a temp fence and you could use a sheet to cover it
oh that is a good idea, lady, we can grow something flowery up the wall. Yes, they are ok about it, they aren't doing anything wrong. It is just that I have trouble handling stuff like this. But I will manage.
O as for growing something up the wall don't/ Suckers from plants like ivy cause mortar to rot out
yes I am thinking more like a trellis with something flowery, that won't damage the wall.
morning all. how many words are there today please
hi sandra, 141 today
thanks
yw and good luck
oh this is amazing. We have the theme as a grid word today, we have UFO, and now I find the Borg. Resistance is ******.
Ok Sprite. We have been so busy. We have been shifting furniture and the cats are not amused. Hi Sandra
I can imagine. Is it starting to look the way you want it too now?
No it looks like a bomb site
argh. Good luck with that.
We are taking it slowly
yeah, better do it slowly and well the first time than having to do it over again.
We have a new table and a new kitchen hutch
and we are minus 2 t.vs and a computer monitor
sounds good
Friend was making a tip run we helped
and to add to the SF collection today, ALF is here as well.

Hi . I just got my nose out of the grid and saw you all.
en7? please.
maybe en+fire ?
montreal, ty
yw :-)
A very good sunny Sunday to all of you
hi mom - sunny her as well... but minus 12C this am ...
here even...
27 degrees here and good morning Montreal, so nice to see you
nice to see you too - i have mom and gramma here this am !!!
Last word. SI 7/28? Help me get on with my life outside of Babbleonia, please.
Not that I don't enjoy your company; but, ....
Hi Gramma. There is life outside of Babbleonia?
just found it-- to localize, to pinpoint...
Not really
;-)
there is SOME life outside Babble Land...
Isn't that the 7/32?
today the only thing outside of Babble Land is laundry
true gramma, sorry :-(
groan..please do not say laundry...
only one I have so far...
((Crossy)) good morning .... your laundry got away from you again?
I have a date w/my boyfriend for lunch and a movie.A few of our children may me** us.
that sounds delightful Gramma. What are you going to see?
you must be looking for a si6/28 then gramma...
Babble or hubby? mmm, I think I better leave this last word hanging, I just want you all to know, I will noot stop thinking about it.
We're going to see Cedar Rapids.
enjoy your day, Gramma. I would pick hubby over babble also
have a nice day gramma
It's a tough choice; but, then again...
Thanks all. Enjoy your day!
lol, it is only tough because you only have one word left
not a very good 1st pass (88/53) - gotta go - take care all and happy babblings "POOF"
excellent pass Montreal. Have a great day ((hugs))
ohh - hi and bye cross "REAL POOF"
my laundry is a life form of its own:(
lol Crossy, I am down to about 4 loads a week since it is just me and my sweetie
three of us work for 4 days, washing, folding, finding a home for it,you turn around and blink and it is all back again, the laundry bags looking at you with evil intent
wow, I know when the boys were home I did laundry twice a week
Gramma, are you still here?
lol@4 loads i dream of just 4 loads, partly my fault i suppose as i let it build for 2 weeks and we get 15 to 20 loads.4 full size industrial laundry bags, fill the car up and take it down the road to the laundo-mat with the quad washers, jam it all in and set it on frape lol
si + 2nd vowel + opposite of day (alt. spelling)
no wonder it takes so long to do the laundry. Pack it up, unpack it, sort it, wash, dry, fold...ugh
I would let it go 2 weeks also if I had to lug it to the laundromat
yup,no machines in the apt;(
well there is the laundry room, but it is coin fed and they have the heat on the dryers set so low,you have do dry them twice..hell i can blow more hot air than those things down the hall can put out
I remember when we first married and bought our first house, I told sweetie I didn't mind doing the wash at the laundromat but he was going to go with me. I had a washer and dryer after one visit. :-)
lol
the one we went to was disgusting
ours is nice and clean and up to date, but still a pain
I think they do that on purpose to get more money out of you
with ours you get a laundry card and acct, and you can put laundry credits on it and all the machines take this card and it keeps track of how many times you use it.so every 8th wash is free
but still those 15-20 loads ends up around 30 dollars by the time you are done
wow, that is quite expensive
let me tell you about this wonderful invention that SC Johnson and Company has come up with. I am on my second box.
It is called Shout Color-Catcher. It is a sheet and you put it in your washer and you can mix all colors, whites and reds, etc and this sheet catches the color and it stays off the other clothes
now there is a good idea, especially the way i sort and wash clothes lol
hello all (mom)
((TO)) good morning
Crossy, it may save you a load or two
one year all i had were pink socks and undies, thanks to one new red t-shirt lol
lol
howdy to
20 pair of brand new white athletic socks...all pink;(
poor Crossy
i was a fashion statement;)
and you were just the one to pull it off
talkin' ain't doin' so I had better get busy. Be back at lunch time. ((Hugs)) to all of you
bye mom
bye bye ((TO)) have a great day
darn cpap mask, had to wear it last night, now i am dryer than a popcorn fart;( 3 glasses of water and 2 cups of tea later, the bottom of my mouth is still like the sahara
tc mom
can't you increase the water intake so your mouth won't be so dry
you as well Crossy
it has a built in humidifier with 3 settings, but if you have ever used one,it is still tough.but i should not complain as without it my chance of heart attack and stroke was 50% higher!
i had to give up on them things crossy - i couldnt sleep at all after about a week on it
wife sleeps and she does not worry bout me dying in my sleep no more;0
sweetie had to adjust his because of dry mouth and he has finally found a comfortable setting on his
i have no choice kazz, without it,i stop breathing over 50 times a night
wow i cannot believe how prevalent this condition is
Kazzer did you use the mask or the leads that go in your nostrils
plus it is a 1000 dollar machine! good grief!
i sleep on my front or side - i was diagnosed with severe sleep apnoea as well but have learnt better coping mechanisms with it and lost 4 stone
yes,i am carrying a few extra stones lol
i had to have a mask becasue i sleep with my mouth open - also here in the Uk we get the machine on loan from the NHS
i still have 7 stone at least to go but also my gastric reflux is nearly completely gone as well
i use mask as well, scrabbs uses the nasal one i think
that is great news Kazzer
yes
sweetie uses the mask but my friend uses the nasal ones
now I am really going to go...... bye for now
Mind you crossy - if it stops you from dying in your sleep then its a good thing - my dad had one for a while until he lost weight as well
see ya mom - back to the grid for me - then i have to go and do some washing (lol)
tc mom
yes kazz,it is the extra lard i am hefting arounf
i still have 40 to lose
40 pounds that is,not stone!
I have 10
down 16 so far
a stone is what? 12-14 pounds? so 3 stone to go
I went on womansday.com
i actualy got up to 26 stone at one point but then got down to 19 then went bac kup to 23 and now hovering on the 21 mark - but not getting anywhere - need to re-evaluate the calories i am munching
i use my fitnesspal.com. It is very good - gives you the amount of food you can eat to lose 2lbs a week
i use my wardrobe lol,i have 5 pairs of pants from 2 years ago when i can fit back into them,i can stop lol
hello hello
((ruby))
that is very good crossy - i should have done that
hi ruby how are things with you
tell me how you fought your gastric reflux, kaz. I take Nexium and used to take Prevacid. I can't lose any weight....
The visit with husband's daughter was terrific! All issues were resolved
i take reflux meds now daily:(
and she didn't snoop (as far as I know)
which ones do you take, crossy?
sec....
The main thing i learnt was not to eat at least 2-3 hours before i go to bed. Not to drink a lot and eat a lot at the same time. If i am out for a specialy meal then i have to only have a glass or two of wine with it - or none and avoid very very hot food (as in spicy)
novo-rabeprazolke 20 mg tabs
oh spicy is a no go! and red sauce
that's a mouthful! I wrote it down and will see if it's available here in Fr and also compare the price because Nexium is very expensive
these tabs are great and not too expensive
i get 100 tabs for 40 dollars CAD
I never eat spicy food (husband does, so I cook separately for him), never eat large quantities, don't drink much and still get it!
here it is about $2 per pill
at the beginning though i was on lanzaprazole
but look it up ruby, they are great!
on my list for tomorrow!
do either of you have hiatal hernias?
i have a bit of one its not always there - I did have an ulcer which was treated and then they found the hernia but it feels much better and only gets me every now and then - i am convinced mine is all down to my weight though
I just found two splendid words on my own (rare), fl8/60 and le7/40. Chuffed
my mother had one and I have the same symptoms
no hernmias that i know of ruby
well done ruby (on the words)
that is interesting as I thought that was the cause of the reflux
I still have 56 left and am missing the left-hand i for nbt
no,it is my excessive weight and i still like a wee dram at night
ty kaz
it can be but i have had it since i used to drink a lot and was much fatter than i am now
I certainly have those wee drams
the skin at the back of my throat droops and blocks the airway
been years since i have been able to sleep on my back
husband had sleep apnea, too, but he is so skinny now that he doesn't have it any more. And he has gained about 4 lbs. since he came home
good,he was too light as i recall
when you are that thin, you have no resources to fight if you get ill
his lowest weight, post-hospital, was under 55 kg
good lord! my left leg weighs 55 k lol
we have decided we need to get to about within a stone of our so called ideal weight
my "ideal" with my height and bone structure is in around 190 pounds
hi, all, quick tea before choir...
I just figured my weight in stones and am embarrassed to tell
late
howdy sue
crap.
hello sue, we're comparing notes about weight and gastric reflux (just to fill you in)
do you know the sail that comes from that?
basically we are all fat and regurgitate like birdies lol
comes of being too hasty. PB for me. I am too fat by at least 40 pounds but no gastric reflux, diabetes, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, or anything else except high blood pressure and some arthritis
and no, I don't have the sail, nautical terms are not my strong point
we'll put in dry crackers and black tea for you, sue
i am suffering from a life of self abuse i think - i have all of those and i am on warfarin cos my blood clots on a whim
but I just found an la6 that might be it...
la6/18 same 4 letters then add a preposition
sigh..good ole self abouse, when we were 20 or 30,we were bullet proof, ate, drank, smoked like a fiend..now we must learn to rebehave
does anybody have the left-hand i?
I have been very lucky, kazz, especially as breast and ovarian cancer run in my family
indeed, crossy, I didn't start to gain weight until I got pregnant at age 38...
lucky lucky sue!!!!!
left-hand i - I have it4 so far
and the left-hand i is no longer one of the i***s on my list, ruby
I weighed more at 18 than I do now
yep, same one, sue! :)
i was fine, till i quit the smokes, then 6 month after that i got my first of 3 cancers in a 4 year span, went down to 160 after treatments, then the weight just piled on
anyway have to run, time to sing :-) bbl
slap me with a fish
item
good clue, kaz! hahah
that was it, kazz :-) welcome to the pb!
*poof*
bu***er sorry about that I will join sue in the Pb
that's the fish, Kazz, now I need the darn U, can someone accidentally type that in? (just kidding)
lol,pb is getting full, crossy stands smugly outside the pb
ut5/12 coming in handy
but I thought it was a Fr word
ty, ruby, just wasn't seeing it
I'd be happy to go to the PB if I could only find another word!
51 left and nothing in sight!
see you later

Congrats Kazzer!
bye bye Kazzer and congratulations
Mom, they probably do.
my guys are big Star Trek fans as well. Youngest has the entire set of Next Generation and I think every toy they made for it
he is now 23
Same with my father.
my sweetie loved the original Star Trek. I saw some where that they are going to auction Spocks ears
Biggest Trekkie you will ever see. His car is decorated as the Enterprise!
I would like Mr. Spock's ears!
that is a big fan
Ohhhhhhhhh, yeah.
let me see if I can find where I read that
i love star trek as well
http://www.musicrooms.net/tv/29685-spo ck-s-ear-to-go-under-the-hammer.html
I will take a look at it!
April 2 in Los Angeles
Very interesting. However, I do not live in L.A.
nor do I, maybe there will be an online auction
Hmmm...Maybe I may put something in.
if they would do it online it would give more people a chance to bid on them
That is very true. *crosses fingers*
I am now...Chadish?
funny you don't look chadish
hi all
hi jmc
hello my peeps! I have the fl8, what is the other 8 pls
Hi jmc and lil*! Lil, it is an al8.
thanks mark jones
yw lil*.
(((MONKEY)))
{{{{ MOM}}}}}}}}}}} I'm loving our Lex games, mom
I am having a good time
got the al8
Good. i am having trouble with it.
What are lex games?
ET is an al*** + past tense of eat
start with ET and make it end with past tense of eat
Lex is Lexulous, which is Scrabble on Facebook
word island is also a scrabble like game on fb..
My kitchen smells so good! It's cold & rainy here so I have spaghetti sauce brewing in the Crock Pot, and pork roasting in the ovwn
Hi Ivesy, I haven't heard of that game
hi mom... its under mindjolt games.. decent game
smells delicious, Lil
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
little redskin potaters too
Sounds good.
in your spaghetti sauce?
making me hungry
um no, mom... the redskins will go with the roast pork and gravy
stats for M in corner please
I am a picky eater. *Doesn't know if MJ will like it*
the spaghetti sauce will go in tupperwares in the freezer
ma + not early
ma6/21 x 2
ma + students **** up in an orderly fashion, it is time for lunch
ty mom but really was looking for stats this early :-)
I was a picky eater, then I grew up
some people put potatoes in spagh sauce to sop up gease from the meats
oh jmc, I misread, I am so sorry
i fe** sorry for picky eaters since they miss so much
np mom
i never allowed it
soiunds good to me ive I'd eat potatoes with anything!!
i know. I hate a lot of food.
me too lol
I allowed it, as I am one
we put hard boiled eggs in ours..
hate is such a strong word
what do you mean , "allow" ?
when a new guy came into my boys' circle of friends and i had him over to dinner with them the other boys all told him he had to take one bite
I asked them to take one bite and if they didn't like it they didn't have to eat it.
but if they really didn't want to try it I never pushed the issue. Oh Lord, the things they eat today
my sil would always make a separate meal for her kids -- i just tried not to serve things I KNEW they disliked but i wasn't making something special for each kid
oh i see, mom... i definitely don't think much of these moms that cook a whole other me4 for the picky eater
my son was very picky when he was younger but he has really opened up to lots of foods he disliked
not me Monkey, that never happened
I agree with you JMC
yeah, no way mom
I am bouncing in between Babble and something else, and it is very hard to multi-task here!
good gosh, they even eat sushi now
so i missed a lot of egg and olives when the boys were over
Currently have a roast of beef in the slow cooker covered with cream of mushroom soup mixed with lipton onion soup mix...very tastey
i love sushi :)
Hi Sea
oh nice seaspray!
lord of mercy i may have to go down and cook something
That sounds great.
i'm starving now... might have to eat some of that pork soon
and hello everyone!
hi sea
any clues for the 8s?
cherry blossoms out jmc?
al8 and fl8, mkg
I am still missing the al, but the fl is someone who plays a long slender wind instrument.
the al8 means to treat someone like an outsider
ty mark
yw jmc!
i always liked the sound of that word fl8
I know, right?
lol
I saw The Lincoln Lawyer yesterday, with littlebit... EXCELLENT!
yes?
Still missing the al8. Thanks for the clue, lil*, but I still don't have it.
Matthew McConaghey (sp?) is a slightly unconventional lawyer
:)
mark jones... start with 5 letter word for a Martian, then add past tense of eat
thanks lil! What about snorkeling, my friend?
no it's too cold!
dont get fl word. ty got al word
No...you know what I meant. Where?
mkg, fl8 is a person who plays an instrument in the band, long skinny metal thingie
where what
That is usually silver.
Fine. I am picking somewhere to snorkel all by myself!
flutist? nopt in grid
hoo boy
very close mkg
oh got it! sorry. spelling was never my thing
add another vowel , and try not to give away words from the grid
fancier word for the same person
sorry i really thought i was spelling it right.
I am now Australian. *picking up snorkeling gear*
Erda, that has to be the cutest icon pic I have ever seen
awww lil -- thank you!!
i miss my darling Minnie... she has been gone almost 20 yrs
what are the i word please. i have none of them
1/2 way through the puzzle. Lil*, are you coming to snorkel with me in Australia? *figuratively*
got it 4.
nope, i'm going to eat some lunch now... BBL ! enjoy!
Bye lil*!
elfen
oops so so sorry. time to go. getting sloppy
Good try, mkg. Bye!
Fl8 is somebody who plays a wind instrument bigger than a piccolo.
Nice clue, kap. Hi!
With an extra v owel for the proper word
If anyone is getting confused, I am saying bye to mkg and hi to kap.
Hello, goodbye, hello goodbye
"I don't know why, you say goodbye and I say hello"
fane
Oops! So sorry!
Off to the PB with me.
en7?

stats on the u?
It is the nature of chog.
hey jmc
ut 5/12
new to the grid?
i recommend reading the help^^ above this box as unlike other helps it is actually helpful
u + squares you have in the bathroom
ty shirl i had been looking and looking
people here are happy help but we don't use the words in the grid here in the chog
it gives you another word as well.
Never never never.
it does indeed kap
well hardly ever
This is why we have a well-stocked penalty box.
jeff seems shy ;-)
Don't confuse the PB for peanut butter, however.
wow i must be starving because even peanut butter sounds good to me
If you do, you will be mired forever, either creamy or chunky.
crossy put peanut butter bacon and banana sammiches in the pb
chunky for sure!
stats for the 4th column T please

Hi nan

it is really full of nutrients and easy to cook and is really tasty
what is a leek?
I love this site-I learn something every time I visit!!

a leek is a giant onion (relative)
I like stuffed peppers. Not crazy about olives unless they are green ones
yes -- I make leek soup often
okay. I like onions
oh it's easy to cook.. they were just a little bit of green ones mom

great clue haz and hello everyone
Hello, River.
must be a japanese car
Hi River
hey, river :-)
hah
tough grid today
*giggle*
i agree
it's my mom's old car that I use for hauling -- but I DID buy a Japanese car last week! :-)
down to 48 so I guess I am not doing too bad - will list soon - hopefully there is a list
I see that some old Babblets have come back for a visit. The French needle case and the Hawaiian shrub, for instance.
<---knew it
LOL
une will now change her name to Unichiwa
first "new" car I've had in AGES (2008 Honda CRV) -- my mom's dog/donated food hauler car is a '98 Buick LeSabre that's been "rode hard and put up wet"!! LOL
I like hondas
good cars . . . "car guy" friend went with me and did all the talking and verifying, etc :-)
Our last Honda lasted over 200,000 miles until my husband totalled it....would have gone that much again I think
Honda and Toyotas are great cars
clue for en 5/12
well, I'm not hauling anything in the Honda until Mother's LeSAbre bites the dust -- still looks and smells very new :-)
I drive a Subaru now - cant complain but wanted the other but couldn't because of price
en5/12 - a medical procedure
what you dont want before surgery Boo
the hOnda, not the Buick LOL
we got that Une
:-D
test drove an Element, just 'cause it was so cute (and cheaper) but wow, amazing difference
my eyes need a break - bbl all - have fun
bye, river :-)
they are so ugly - sorry to those that have Elements - good for hauling though I am sure
phew stumbled to 2/3, listing time
oh, the one I test drove was a funky bright green -- really cute :-)
I hate the ELement..look..really UGLY
and you could just hose it out after you do your rescues...lol
pish posh
gone now - poof
UGGGH-Ly
*chuckle snort*
unea i did not know you did rescue. my group here in IL gets a lot of dogs from southern IN / KY
the designer committed suicide after the car was officially released
not getting the en5/12
Boo, ends in shortened form for mother
en a water bath for the anus
yes, in fact I drove down to Hurricane Mills yesterday and picked up a really sweet border collie mom and 2 of her 9 puppies born back in December -- mom rode in front with me and cuddled all the way to Nashville and the pups snoozed in back :-)
ok
I'm an absolute fool for dogs and puppies!
awww. i have a new boxer/dane sleeping on the couch here with me from KY
lots of dogs are transported from the South up to wonderful families in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, NY state, Vermont . . .
boxers and danes are so sweet!!
generally, further south you get = higher kill shelters
totally . . . and just plain neglected . . .
http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/190 61508
yesterday's mom and pups are going to be adopted by a vet and his extended family in Virginia :-)
you guys are my heros
aww together! that is great.
LeslieAnn, Aggie is so cute and looks like such a goofwad LOL
hi, all!
ruru, I love it -- and the car buddy who helped me choose my new car is now interested in getting into dog rescue as well -- wahoo!
hey, sue
Leslie, are you in Aurora? I'm in DeKalb (and have one dog and two cats all of whom are rescues from local shelters)
she is VERY affectionate. took her to the dog park today and she kissed all the dogs
yes i am sue. we have 1 or 2 foster homes in dekalb area
ooh, you have a dog park? Now I really need to know where you are (or at least where the dog park is) - we don't have any in DeKalb County.
or at least not any that I know of...
clue for en 7
i have a pass for dupage county forest preserve - there are several parks i can go to
the furthest one west i know of is on the far west side of batavia
en7 - to make an incendiary remark?
oh, ok, I'll check that out! Our dog would love it!
that one is free, i think
Better still!
ty Haz
You're welcome, Boo.
<<<<<<< here's Jojo the rescue border collie mom from yesterday :-)
she apparently had quite torrid affair with a most handsome black lab -- resulting in 9 beautiful pups! LOL
what a pretty gal. 9 puppies - oof.
and soooo affectionate
what are going to do with the pups une
ok, finally figured out the lone t, now nbs and nbt. Better grade for a while...
fireworks here - and time to seriouswly work at making some dinner
oh, they're not mine -- I helped transport them to their forever home in Virginia yesterday -- drove them from Hurricane Mills to Nashville (65 miles)
nice work teach!
bye, teach :-)

speaking of pups, mine want to go out -- back in a mo

Is anyone having trouble with Babble expert not showing all the letters?
have to leave, bye
not me kap
my brother bout a home recently in LV and from what i understand the down payment has to paid in liquid assest(no loans for it etc) so he was 500 dollars short,so he ran the 500 on a standard amex green card that has to be clered at the end of each billing period(but 4 days before final house paperwork) they could not undersyand that the 500 had indeed been paid for and it help up the paperwork an extra week! lol
bought
I switched to expert, and 2 letters are missing
Housing market is really strange lately.
the f's are missing- is that censorship or something?
Kap that just is not fair!
try to reload expert.. it happens once in a while and it goes away after i reload
real estate is cheap there now,you can almost buy 2 houses for the price of one in LV right now
a fresh reload does wonder sometimes
I'm still waiting for the reload-now I am on firefox
i use firefox
I was going on Expert so I can pull up Lickety
My f's are back! But I have to go have dinner.

May I please have a clue for li5-10? Thanks.
Hello Everybody! How are you all today? And how is the grid? (I've already started; so I guess that that really doesn't matter anymore)
I have 12 left but am frustrated with my Babble expert working really slow. It was an interesting little grid earlier- but then, they all start out that way!
I have 52 left and am going to go take an hour to watch a rerun of Bones. Maybe it will make grading happier.
79 left here, and not really enjoying this.
li 5/10....superman's girlfriend Lois Li*** (yes with an extra vowel)
so it must start out easy and then turn into a grind near the end?
Don't they all?
and thanks for the clue, car.ee
72 left and hit my first wall;(
I never found this one easy!
yvw...not really here...*poof*
not all of them Kap; about 1 in 20 is a quick grid for me (but most are tougher)
darn. "Ufta still isn't a Word!
Oh. Anyway, my last 10 are killing me.
ufda might be?
I am a fatuist. A lot of my words were found by monkeys.
nope, red; that's never worked either. :-(
ah well. Bummer.
too bas that wasn't a word, Kap. I like the sound of it! ;-)
teen
OOOPS!!! Sorry. IS the PB stocked? (I may need to restock it if I've already blown it)
thanks nef down to 70.
There is peanut Butter in the PB.
It oughta be a word!
That might not be appealing, but there's plenty.
Thanks so much, car.
Well, I just made PB cookies; fresh out of the oven; so I'll add those
I can't finish tonight- have a few Sunday chores to do- like the ones I didn't do Saturday.
I have chores from all week, Kap. I'm SO glad my co-worker is back from vacation; now I can do some housework AND play Babble too on my days off!
I haven't even read the Times Book Review yet.
Could I have a clue for that upper le** M and also the U please? I can't seem to find anything for either of them yet
I'm not getting the il5.
I'm not getting the il5.

disappointed that the weekend is almost over ... again
brb
they just don't seem to be long enough...
hi again. lbd; I read some reviews of Dorens sons' book. I'm very interested in reading it too! (I was impressed at what the JAMA reviewer wrote!)
(I've been out in the kitchen "cooking" for a while
there was a weekend, pini? (I've worked both days...weekends generally just mean a little less work than weekdays)
back...my mom got a new dog!!
Ooh, Jilly, what kin?
being a vet is "fun", isn't it, jes? My sister is one in Northern MN
yay, jilly :)
rottweiler...rescued
heh. yes. fun. that's the word for it! :)
I vaguely remember a weekend, but not sure about it, jes
I met the dog a few weeks ago, really liked her, a lot like my pup that I put down a year ago
That is so cool.
el5-10 anyone? Thanks
this week's been particularly "fun" nef--had 6 euthanasias on tuesday. 1-2 every other day of the week, including saturday, which was my grandfather's dog.
el5 = most important
el5 the very best
or what ru said (hi ru)
so far, nothing's died today... hoping it stays that way!
:(
hi pini..
My sisters from Montana and I went up for her 60th B'day last weekend, (both she and her hubby are vets) and there were numerous calls in spite of the messages that they weren't available for small animal emergencies
tell your ma thanks for going rescue, jilly! :)
brb - koda is pawing at me for a "moment" outdoors...
Thanks much ruru, and Pini.
a koda moment?
Wow, Nef, sounds fun
bye, pini
is that anything like a kodak moment
our visit was fun; the calls for the vets weren't so fun.
yeah. the emergency call thing gets old really fast. i'm looking forward to next month when dr a will start splitting calls with me and i'll no longer be oncall all the time
Wow, jes! You've been doing ALL the call? YUK!!!
since the end of january when dr b retired, yeah.
sorry, got distracted trying to find an elmo t shirt to send to my grandson. elmo, I cannot believe i'm doing this..
(((jes))) Do you do both large and small animals?
yes, and exotics too
oh but you shouldn't have to take all the call jes. i can't imagine that
(((JES))) jo Mef. jo ri
nobody else to do it,dorens. if i don't answer, they're stuck. closest emergency clinic is about 50 miles away and doesn't do large animal or exotics
WOW! How big is your territory? Are there other vets around? (Gem and Larry are the only 2 vets in about a 40 mile radius)
Man jes, I was on-call for Hospice ... it can really suck..actually am now on call 24/7 for endoscopy..but rarely get called
hi Nef, ru and peach
back
closest other clinic is about 30 miles away, and they will not see someone who's not already a client on emergency. i have issues with that policy, myself.
I get emergencies were people cant' get corks out of their bottles
so you say you're in the middle of nowhere? guess you mean that. too bad!
hi lbd! :-)
Hi there ibdawger.
jeez, an emergency is just that, emergency! Urgent, can't wait! doh
heh. you sell corkscrews, ruru?
fo6?
lol ruru...that is life threatening....
ru. how is the shoulder?
fo + latin for all others and the alternate spelling of the fe5

yeah, dawg. i've gotten some pretty entertaining "emergency" calls... like the emergency anal gland expressions....
oh that is terrific! go easy on it, yes?
oi, Jes!
oh yes
yay ruru! glad you're fe4ing better! :)
There's where our work is just the same Jes...
hi all - cleared teh q - woot woot
hi tnc!
hard to argue that it's a win for me when i charge them $100 to express anal glands, right?
* still thinking *
hi TNC
3
well, if it was my critter...i guess 100 bucks is worth it.
it's a job *I* wouldn't like, jes!
git'r dun, JJ
Hi there TNC.

take the su5/12, remove last vowel and put two vowels in place
thanks nef
<-- don't have the 5
Thanks much, lbdawger and Jillyill. Only 2 more to go.
it must be a guy thing, Jilly. As much as Hubz loves dogs, he really doesn't want another one. i think having to put down our last baby really bothered him.
go GA go!!
Do you find that some people are definitely cat people and others are definitely dog people? I think we are all both in our house (even though I'm allergic to cats); but my daughter in law only likes dogs (even though they have a cat)
go Peach!
pini, dawg's clue should help with the 5
su + double cons + first vowel, Pini
thx ;)
(for both)
I'm a dog person, so is hubz, i'm allergic to cats but still think most of them are pretty cool critters.
I've always been both nef, but there is just something different with a dog...would really like to always have both
<-- previously a lover of neither, but now of *my* dog...no cats
i love my neighbor's MCC, he's ancient now, but when he was younger he ruled the neighborhood!
what's an MCC?
maine coon cat. they are huge! and just have a special kind of personality.
They are great cats..I had a female
Really? What are they like? (I don't think I've ever seen a MCC)
for info: http://www.fanciers.com/breed-faqs/mai ne-coon-faq.html
i've only known two, both of which are characters. Neighbor's cat is very territorial, loves to play in water, long hair coloring is grey and white. the other one is a royal princess...and let me tell you she lets you know if she's p*ssed! also loves to play in water
Fireworks. Thanks for all the help. Good luck finishing.....see y'all at the flip.

Do you all like my cat's 'Chinese' face?
LOL!I LOVE your cats Chinese face!Great icon Jacula
Sorry about his ragged ears, but he's a fighter, not a lover.:-(
Thanks, Min. He likes to be appreciated.
it would be so nice if he could get over the kitten that's lost its Mum thing... he still kneads us and sticks his claws out whilst doing so and tries to suckle us. Me especially. He is at least 7 or 8 years old now.
I love how people put up all the icons of their pets and the themes. I really enjoy them all; sorry that I don't do the same thing but it just is too frustrating for me to doit
He came from a home where a feral mother had her kittens, the people couldn't look aftert them because a) no money and b) no idea about cats, or any kind of animal (inlcuding humans really)..
that's sad, Jac
They ended up catching rats and being fed by people who passed by from the chip shop etc., next to the local By-pass road. Unfortuntately, one time they tried to cross it, Mum got killed and our cat got smacked but not seriously injured. He stayed next to Mum's body for a week. Daughter and her b/f found him, brought him home, fed him, let him out. He went baack to dead Mum's body... they carried him home again, daughter's b/f getting seriously scratched in the process. Then I took over and he stayed.
No idea what happened to the original rowners or tgheir baby because they flitted from the flat, that was chock full of stray cats and dogs, before the next lot of rent was due. They took one dog and 1 cat. The rest, those that weren't run over on the nearby bypass, got rehomed by local residents.
how terribly sad! How many animals do you think they had?
Aprroximately 9 cats and 3 dogs, as I recall, Nef. In a flat that was very, very small.
just in to change icon
hi flosey
Hello flosey! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
3 adult cats, I recall seeing and the rest were kittens, one of which is our present cat.
Jac, when I hear stories like that I picture some well-meaning people who got in over their heads. I don't condone it; and my initial reaction is that *they* should be spayed; then I try to imagine what may have been going through their head
I know the landlord of that flat and I think I have now persuaded him NOT to allow pets.
that sounds like a good idea
Nef - they were a very, very young couple who already had 2 kids. I'm talking 19 as the top age for both. They had good intentions but not the means.
Jacula, you can take your cat from the fl** to the PB.
Ops, yes., Sorry. Min!
*Oops!
2 kids by age 19? No wonder they didn't have the means
Pain au chocolat? MMM! I'll heat a couple of those up. I think I put them in the PB earlier in anticipation of going there when chatting later.
is that a cup of cocoa Jac? I'm up for that!
Yes, good intentions, Nef, but no effing idea! They'd leave an open tin of cat food out for the cat and her kittens. No wonder, when we first got him, that he ate his food with a paw and didn't seem to understand having a bowlful of food all for himself.
Nef - No - it's a crossaint with chocolate in it.
Even to this day, many years later, he still needs competition/reassurance when he eats. After his first few mouthfulls, he comes an miaows at me until I go and stand over him whilst he eats.
sounds like the poor cat was really traumatized
Yes, he was, but that dosn't stop him killing mice and birds.
I've never seen him catch a rat yet, which is good, since most rats around here will have been poisoned.
I don't know what I'd do if our cat got a rat!
And, yes, I am uilty of poisoning rats, too.
Nef - Well, if you are pretty sure it's been poisoned and your cat brings you one home as a gift, you chuck it in the bin.
If it brings a live rat home, let it kill it but then take it away from the cat, thanking the cat for the gift, and then chuck it in the bin.
I really don't want any of those types of "gifts" from a cat though! Our cat (actually my dtr's cat) once caught a mouse and thought it was just a toy. A rat would be so much worse!
If your cat doesn't kill the rrat, then whack it with a heavy duty spade to dispatch it.
Then chuck it in the bin.
As I said; *I* REALLY don't want a "gift" like that!
I know that sounds cruel, especially to anyone who keepts rats or mice as pets, but I've kept them, too, and, belive me, the wild kind aren't the sort you want running wild around you.
Nef -LOL. I remember the time our cat brought a live mouse in and it ran under the fridge./ That was the frige that we'd just cleaned out that day AND pulled out from it's normal place to clean behind and around. We had to pull it out again. That damned cat!
I really hate rodents; especially in the house! (Won't ever have one as a pet!)
The cat sat on the mat, hopefully not with a rat. If it brought a mouse into the house, I hope we had the nous to realise that. A Terrier might be the answer, to catch all the cat can't, Ah! I see the way, have no pets, Nay! Have no pets, NAY! That way, no pest, NADA.
Terrible poem, I know! But you get my drift. LOL.
yeah.
Hi all, just checking in briefly before bed.
Actually, I really loved some of the mice we had, Nef. I even had one wrapped in bubble wrap and foil down my cleavage when he was dying. I so wanted to save him. His was a dark chocolate brown mouse called George Clooney, a former stud mouse when we got him. He was 8 years' old, which is very old, for a mouse.
I even got a small straw and dried a gentle version of CPR on him
hi uusue. How is your Dad and your step mom doing?
I sat up with him for 8 hours.
He was a most handsome and most engaging mouse.
Jac, that is a bit "over the top" if you know what I mean
Nef - not for 'm George' it wasn't.
*my
Hi, nef, dad is great. That's him on my icon. Haven't heard much about stepmom lately.
He was the most healthy mouse of all the 21 mice we had. Most off the others got horrible cancers and cost me a fortunate at the vets to sort out, since they were my daughter's pets.
well, as a friend once said to me "whatever floats your boat" then!
8of the other + 'cost me a *fortune
I'm off to bed now. Happy Babbling all!
uusue; your dad is quite handsome!
niters, Jac
I think so, nef!
is that a recent photo?
But bedtime for me now too, see you all tomorrow.
Ten years ago, nef, he was 80.
still good looking! And he doesn't look 80 there either (I was guessing closed to 70-75)
Anyway, nighters now. *poof*
