Yes, spring is a wonderful time of year.....we've had a lot of wind and thunderstorms that damaged the flowers somewhat. The Masters Golf Tournament was last week and the city had its usual bombardment of tourists. I guess they had a good time. Traffic is horrendous....but, hey....we love it.

it's one of those days when i think i might be punching someone in the face before nightfall... i think people all got a memo to annoy me today.

trying very hard to be peaceful and stress-free, but im feeling very tense, and everything is annoying me today.

first, getting to the metro, some gal decided to cut right in front of me while walking up the escalator -- walking literally RIGHT into me, despite the fact that i had a shoulder-load of bags i was hauling up.
then, thanks to my wonderful allergies (which already have me feeling crap-tastic), im sniffling my whole way through my commute, which apparently annoyed the woman sitting behind me, who felt the need to get up in a huff and mention (not quite under her breath) how annoying all the sniffling was.
then, when i was getting off the metro, the outside escalator going up was turned off. but of course, by the time you know that, you have already exited through the turnstiles. so i had to lug all my bags and umbrella up the escalator.

now, the guy who sits next to me is chomping away on his nails, and it is SO. FRIGGIN. LOUD. seriously, i put in my headphones to block it out, and i can STILL hear him.

not to mention that yesterday, i worked from home so i could take hubby to el dentisto. he HATES the dentist, and was there to get a wisdom tooth pulled. well, we get there, and he freaks out because dentist tells him he HAS to have novacaine (apparently hubby thought he could go without, as he hates needles) so we end up having to leave without him having the tooth pulled. so i worked from home for nothing + hubby spends all day "resting" since apparently his nerves were so frazzled.
sadly, molly, food isnt much better -- he is a loud eater too. its almost like his lips are too big or there is too much moisture in his mouth or something. its just GROSS.
Eva, I know a great oral surgeon in Montgomery County if you need a name.

thanks, molly. hubby has been to this guy before + likes him. unfortunately, since his mother had traumatic experiences with the dentist, she never took the kids, so in turn, the kids have dentist issues. doesnt really matter which one he goes to -- hes gonna hate all of them.
but speaking about lips (thinking about something to distract Eva) is anyone else bothered by Chris Mathews on MSNBC and the way he sputters and spits????

He's going to have a hard time convincing anyone to yank a wisdom tooth without something. That can involve chiseling and breaking and you DO NOT want to be awake for it.

molly, i know! thankfully, the dentist pulled out his record from last time (he had teeth pulled before) and showed him that he had the novacaine last time.
he is going to reschedule, and now he knows he will have it. but he couldnt deal with the "new information" in time to just get it done yesterday. he was literally about to cry.
just an idea - are there any dentists for adults that specialize in such patients? someone with a "kid-friendly" office and procedures and staff and ... I don't know, just rambling
generally, he trusts these dentists + they pretty much know how to deal with him. they allow a little more time for his appts + he takes a bag of ice with him to help chill out. he raises his hand if he needs a minute. he just doesnt like when he feels like they are springing something on him from out of nowhere... and thats how he felt yesterday.
they sometimes schedule a visit just to familiarize the patient with the setting and what to expect, etc., with no work planned, then come back (just as you said Eva)
it was really tough for me to not scream at him and just say "man up! go in there and get it done, then it will be DONE!"

several yrs ago I had a HUGE old tree uprooted by straight line winds -- missed my house and car by inches -- rootball was amazing!
From there up to corner there were about 6 trees blown over or down. It was apparently the one around the corner that did in the power and internet
but there's no major climate change, eh? LOL
I'd say it was half and half. A few blown over - the rest snapped off. Very small rootballs because of clay soil. Should never have been planted anyway.

I was thinking about that last night ruru. I can't even imagine nor want to.
We have family friends who lost their daughter (age 23) in a car accident. Then 2 years later lost their son (?30) in a kayaking accident. Their only 2 children. I can't imagine how they go on, but they do and they have and have done amazing things in honor of their children.

good morning and I see I'm walking in on sad news - say a prayer for that family and for one here in NJ - a 19-year-old girl drove her car onto the tracks last night and was killed - left a suicide note -
it is weird how some families have to go through SO MUCH. i knew a boy who had had cancer when he was very young, as well as a traumatic brain injury. he recovered from both. however, his brother was born with cystic fibrosis, and is therefore not expected to live past around 30.

stid, my son got expelled from HS 5 days before he was to graduate. They sent his diploma in the mail and I didn't know that he'd already earned it., So 2 years later, I told him he needed his GED to do what he wanted to do; he gt his GED and THEN we found out he earned his diploma!
although I supported him, they were driving him nuts. He went on to get an AAS in audio engineering and is now a freshman at NIU studying electrical engineering.
It seems just as much a matter of arrogance. He doesn't have to do the same work everyone else does.
