i'm pretty sure maple grove farms does NOT do that with their syrup. i visited there several years ago.
what makes it kosher is that it is prepared under the supervision of a rabbi who certifies it was prepared in accordance with rabbinical laws
it has to do with the cleaning of theplant molls..the rabbi inspects it close to passover then all product for a period of time after the "cleaning" is labelled kosher
but, i get syrup from my own extended family's farm, so i know it's cool.
i used to have a conservative jew on my board and had to spend hours making sure everything was kosher

the thing that boggles my mind is this - SUGAR FREE SYRUP. i don't understand. all it is is sugar. what are they substituting???

the funny thing is.. the republican blogs have decided to have a conference there too.. we'll be sharing the hotel with them. and friday night there's a "meet the right" night where we'll be socializing with the other side..with an open bar.. sounds like trouble

Yes, they wash out the joint, and he apparently chooses not to have a thrid suction puncture...I would have preferred a third puncture to this, but it is draining out slowly.
