Jilli, sorry I didn't reply straight away. I live very near to Blisland and know a few people there. I can speak a handful of Cornish words and phrases, though it's not really a widely spoken language nowadays, with no native speakers! It's very sad really :(
Jilli - I know that the accent used in the Beauce is comparable to a Southern accent in the US. I had a very hard time understanding people there at first. They had an equally hard time with my French that was liberally peppered with Russian and English.

fuzzy -- Quebec French seems to have many varieties, and then there's Acadian French, which gets laughed at by les Québécois, who get laughed at by the French from France or Belgium...etc.
Apart from Flack I know people with all those surnames, the people from Blisland that I know are Browns, I think. It would be weird if I know people you were related to though, hehe.

Yes, I think Murphy will be our last dog. He needed to go out during the night the first few months, then had to be calmed down during the night when he slept outside, now he is learning about not tearing up plants.

actually, I have some plastic bowling pins that can be filled with sand -- might see if I can find a bowling ball this summer and set up a sort of alley in the backyard!

Nice car but I didn't care for it. The Camaro was MY car. Walked into the showroom and made a beeline to it. Myfather's voice very faintly saying "no, you can't buy a first year car"

I like the camero, too...but, well, never had one and this is the closest "classic" version in the family there is, so I guess I should be a little partial :)
