but I don't know why or how it started to be so.
It used to be the mostly accepted principle that for the first hour after flip only large words were called, no clues given. That evolved over time.

there is a way in excel using Data - text to columns - fixed width to give just the first two characters, and in this game as there is no 10-word you can use that fixed width bit to do all the columns.

I agree Aloy, but some people seem to wish that fist hour would be less of a "clue shout". Having read over the first hour a few times, I would keep chat off too. I like to find words on my own.

I'm not sure when or why it changed, but I remember hearing that there was no cluing in the first hour. Sort of an unwritten rule. Apparently that changes. I don't play then so this is all just what I've read in chat. I can see why people would like the first hour to play without being bombarded by clues. And perhaps wish they didn't have to turn chat off to do that. I turn off chat many times a day because people are just calling out words randomly.

I know some docs who don't bother anymore.
I don't know how they manage.
I almost decided to skip it. I do not prescribe stimulant meds and I rarely prescribe a narcotic. Maybe a rare rx for Lortab. It would be easier to NOT have a certificate then I could say that I canNOT rx those meds.
At my clinic, we try not to prescribe those meds, because we pay, but there is aways someone who has a number.
8 yrs ago I stopped prescribing stimulants, for many reasons, and I focus on behavioral approaches for "ADHD."
