and jilli? i am reading Sir Walter Scott's Rob Roy. and you are right, the author of enable has to be Scots. you wouldn't believe the number of babblets i have read in the last few weeks.
and thanks west
and that's fireworks
WTG FLOSEY!!!!
wow, flosey -- well done!
snap jilli and Yay flosey !!
off to Duncan tomorrow, see you at flip
rose I love Scott but he's a hard read
okay, flosey. sleep well, dear friend. enjoy tomorrow?
westy, lol. hence i said 'weeks'. he keeps putting me to sleep.
our oldest daughter and her boyfriend are going to Scotland for a month in Oct
something she's been wanting to do forever
well give them 'rob roy' to read. they might understand what they are hearing
how true
love the sound of it though
is it called a brogue or is that only Irish
no, the brogue is related to irish only, i think.
westy, my mother-in-law, who lives with us, is Scots.
wow.. my mom was scotch
RURU!!!!! the man who rocks the world...how are you, mate?
:D fine.. you ?
oops, misread that...do you mean she was preserved in scotch?

I'll bet
yes, westy.
lol, her sister, who lives in edinburgh, says she has lost her accent, though.
mixed now with a little Aussie?
umm, i don't notice it...but a Scots who still lives in scotland might notice it.
how long has she been in Oz?
have I ever mentioned how I really hate little grids lately?
well, hubby is nearly 60, so at least 59 years.
join the club
has she ever been back rose?
no, ruru, feel free, go ahead an whine. i am ready to back you.
grrrrrr
dart must have finished in three minutes
no, westy. and that's really sad, as she is now too physically weak to undertake( forgive the expression) such a long journey. but we real-time link her with her sister through our computer and camera, so that she can talk whenever she likes
that's really nice rose
pretty much ruru
how did jilli's tests go?
I meant to ask her but she left so quickly
she didn't say
wouldn't she have to wait for results?
i don't think she mentioned them, ruru. will try and remember to ask her, tomorrow, and let you know.
at least they were done at the local hospital..that ferry ride early in the morning is stressful enough
damn.. I meant to ask her right away
how have you been ruru?
wow.. you got a couple hours?
still having pain?
yes.. but it comes and goes
it's not as bad in the summer
i'm afraid of winter this year
cold and damp CA winter
for goodness sake, ruru. talk to me. you have my email.
I'm sure I"ll be cursing physical therapy people like granny is soon
have you decided to have the operation then?
* giggle * you're right there, mate
yes.. it's unavoidable westie
my son-in-law is a physical therapist
stats on the u?
he seems nice lol
and he has a degree in sadism, right?
ur5, ruru
my Sister in law is a famous Physical Therapist
she does all the top sports people
we don't talk however
more like masochism..he's doing another Iron Man this week
rose will be your cheer leader
ugh.. i don't understand what drives people to do the endurance things
all he does is train
for his 50th birthday we all pitched in and got him a new bike..$5K plus
oh, and i have to tell you about the reaction to my fellow workers, nurses and doctors alike, when they saw me back at work. lol. i swear one doctor got whip-lash from the triple take he did when he saw me.
there is a woman who trains for iron man in town.. and she looks like a holocaust
survivor
they ought to know you by now rose
i have dropped 2 sizes in my scrubs.
wow.. that's great granny
just wear your Super Woman outfit from now on
rose didn't you lose a lot of weight before the operation too?
thanx friends. ruru, did you see that i am back into my motorbike leathers?
no
I was thinking the other day rose..what some people won't go through to get the bathroom done lol
yes, westy, i did. but i have continued to lose the excess weight. i feel another 10-15kgs would be good.
gives a whole new meaning to chapstick I bet
you go girl !!
rofl...well that's one way of looking at it, westy
my poor 88 year old auntie just fractured her pelvis..she'll be in rehab for a long time I'm thinking
ouch, westy...that is so painful. poor darling!
I hate facing old people stuff on my end
ie.. .me getting older
end of what, ruru? * had to be asked *
better than the alternative
oh.. just weird things.. like cutting myself on almost anything
being forgetful
needing naps
stuff like that
and why should i be the only one???? hmmmm
I remember hating to take naps
if we only knew then..
amen sister

change the first letter of the deepest trench

sometimes I just read back in chat and am amazed at the info therein
yeah, like that's really helpful. lol
Think I need help on the u
please sir can you tell me how to get to ha7?
hang on, if you were in india, it might be helpful.

didn't they think you had enough to do?
westy, you only have choclit, vanilla and strawberry cones available. :(
oh..I forgot that was my icon lol
for you rose..I will make up a special cone
apparently not, westy. i audit the Dangerous Drugs of Addiction register, and the Blood register....
oohhh, and can i have choclit topping on that, please, huh? please, huh?
took a course recently given by an EMT his night job was stand-up comedian what a riot
coming right up
EMT??

ahhh, now that would have been interesting.
sorry medical...the ambulance guys
yes, westy. they have a very interesting job. personally, i don't think i would handle it well. but then again...in the recovery room, some very interesting things happen.
you have to be ready for anything
yup...i even had one anaesthetist tell me that breathing was over-rated. fortunately, for my patient, i didn't give her opinion much credit.
OMG
and another doctor said' he's breathing ok' and walked out on me and his patient, then was stunned because i told my colleague to push the emergency bell. his patient had taken ONE breath.
your patients are lucky to have you
the general population have no idea just how much their lives are reliant on their recovery room nurses
I have always known how important nurses are
westy, it's not just me...all recovery nurses are very alert to their patients and their condition.
I shall come to Australia and make sure you're my nurse
oh I do know that rose..you are the unsung heroes
I don't remember any of my recovery nurses granny, that is why.
lol, would be a pleasure to look after you, westy. as a matter of fact, i have taken care of my sister-in-law. and she says she never felt so sake.

BabbleRabble are you feeling hopeful?
thank you both
we are having our political conventions now rose
"political convention" is a euphemism for a liar's contest
I know but I still look for that glimmer of truth
maybe in the commercials?
I watch C-Span
cable satellite public affairs network
one day we'll have a truth telling robot
or a candidate with a growing nose lol
ahhh, so that explains it...jilli and gwen were having a ' discussion ' earlier.
hey I never knew what C-Span stood for
6 of one half a dozen of another
I get more satisfaction voting for a tree
both candidates' wives did a good job
i'll leave you 2 to discuss that subject. personally, i find politics so boring... and lol, babrab, so totally agree with you.
not so many trees now with all the fires
so many people are so fed up they don't vote
politicians are killing the world
rose before you go..do Australians get fined if they don't vote?
the pollies in ozland are just as boring...and all are fibbers. westy, over here, it is compulsory to vote...otherwise you face a pretty hefty fine.
you just answered my question
lol, from my mind to yours, westy
When I vote, I do a write-in for "none of the above"
you should write yourself in lol
wish we had the option, babrab.
wouldn't it be nice if the pols just told the truth
Those in government put their constituents last in the pecking order
no kidding
too much red tape
so true, westy. we have 2 major worker groups up in arms at the moment. the teachers, because they didn't get their pay rise as promised, and builders, because, their union wants to be the ones who elect the work-site union rep, not the workers.
unions were a good idea until greed got in the way...Bob Dylan
and, currently, the private nurses sector, trying to negotiate their new enterprise bargaining agreement.
no one wants to sacrifice for the greater good
the public nurses sector have their EBA, as fought by our union, but the private nurses are being dumped by the union. we pay the same fees and dues to the union...
not fair
"Personally, I'm in favor of democracy, which means that the central institutions of society have to be under popular control. Now, under capitalism, we can't have democracy by definition. Capitalism is a system in which the central institutions of society are in principle under autocratic control. Thus, a corporation or an industry is, if we were to think of it in political terms, fascist that is, it has tight control at the top and strict obedience has to be establishedat every level--there's little bargaining, a little give and take, but the line of authority is perfectly straightforward. Just as I'm opposed to political fascism, I'm opposed to economic fascism. I think that until the major institutions of society are under the popular control of participants and communities, it's pointless to talk about democracy." ~Noam Chomsky
we are lucky to live in countries that give us a choice though
try telling that to the union...we are having a meeting with our union tomorrow...hope the rep is up to the opposition he/she is going to face.
nice quote...BR
well said bab and noam
have read your quote 3 times, BR. and it is so totally on the mark.
this is not political but our Caity is having a bad time..she was supposed to start a new job today..her car sticker was expired and in Massachusetts that means immediate impounding..so now she has no car and thus no job
Unfortunately, most Americans (though not me) think Chomsky is a socialist and that makes him un-American.
awww, westy, so unfair
tiha
hey, marais.
jobs are so hard to come by these days
Hi--Just lurking--
and, nope, marais, no ti words
hi Marais
Little mistake --still trying to get this game
it's ok, marais....even us old hands still do that
Forgot to look at LicketySplit. Now if I could create computer programs like take that. maybe I could find a job.
well, my friends, i must love and leave you. enjoy the grid...and i will see you all tomorrow after the flip. {{hugs}}
I'm heading off to bed with Perry Mason good night
bye
sleep well, westy.

Oh. LOL. That sounds painful! Like my sticky n I would have to hit ferociously 20 times!
I was gong to get a new computer, but then I saw the price of a comparable new model and I was in Sticker shock...so I am waiting.
how is everything out there?
Going ok. Woke up too early!
i wondered...
If my net was up, could at least get some legit work done. Instead I am babbling
Net up at 8p tonight though! (better be!)
Need any clues before I run, red?
well, at least you have fireworks. I have 17 words, which is almost 1/3 of the grid anyway!
so when the net is up you will not be babble distracted.
I have to go get ready for work...chasing an infection that I have very little record of.
Oh no. I'll still be babble distracted, but will go faster and be less painful!
HAGD then, fight the bugs!
morn everyone! OMG 44 words?? LOL
Red, are you talking about Macs?
Oops, she's gone.

Carlee, just fine, thanks. How are you?
thanks Mom..nighty night! (or good morning in your case)
my love is doing very very well! Went for a huge bicycle tour yesterday, even. He is bored stiff, of course, so I think it is ok... as long as he takes care not to put pressure on his belly.
hi carlee
hi sprite
hi carlee
pleasant dreams, Olivia
just missed your tale of woe, I think, Mom. *hug*
whooo hoooo Olivia!!
thanks, Sprite *hugs back*
oh good for him, Sprite. How long does he have to be off work?
at least until the end of this week. And he has to be very careful for at least 6 weeks
well now I have managed to gray the bottom row :-)
so...are any of the yanks watching morning news?....am curious what the undits have to say about day 1 of the dnc
yayyyy Mom! ;)
(giggle) wtg MOM!!
I am sure you have enjoyed having him home
woot for mom
thanks, LBD
I am not watching the news
yes, it was lovely to have him home from the hospital. And he is pretty good about not being a pest :D
thank you, Carlee
carlee, depends on the channel you watch as to what slant you'll have to listen to. personally, i avoid tv during this time of year. i'm tired of the mudslinging and lies from all sides.
bbl, to visit.
are you finished, LBD?
getting a late start to the day - must run! see you all later1
bye dawg, and yes, I can imagine
bye double u sue!
bye bye Uusue, have a great day
well i know which channel depends.... ( am currently without cable until next week when i will have all the networks ( except fox and msnbc ) back
byebye sue
I am with LBD, I am so tired of the commericals and the mud slinging
commercial*
even here, Mom, and it isn't half as bad as in the US
wow, Sprite, I wouldn't have thought that
have to go out for the day - 7 left - BBL
for some reason we seem to think we need to copy the US in every way.
bye teach
bye bye wvteach, have a great day
that is not always a good thing :-)
no it is not. We are more and more forgetting about Sinterklaas, making Xmas into a purely commercial thing. And now the real mudslinging in the politics has started as well.
it would be refreshing if someone running for office would take the high road and just state what they would like to do if congress would go along with it.
that used to be the way here. But now they try to profile themselves by saying bad stuff about their opposition.
lol... it wouldn't be so bad, since I don't watch tv anyway... but I have to vote!
mom..you would enjoy the novel the best laid plans by terry fallis
I had to look up Sinterklaas. Feast of St. Nicholas :-)
it is a satirical look at canadian politics...and is not a long read....quite entertaining
8 left here
I will write that down and see if the library has it, Carlee
hello ((Peri)) have the storms passed?
yes :D Very fun holiday.
not raining at the moment, but more rain and possible thunderstorms today
hi peri
we have St. Nick on the 6th of December an then Christmas
oh Peri, I hope it won't be a severe weather day
THERE IS A SEQUEL... oops cap lock...and is called "the High Road"
thanks, I hope so too. wanted to do some errands but will wait
they are both very charming.... and entertaining
we start with St. Maarten, on Nov 5, when the children go door to door with candles and song and they get sweets. Then Sinterklaas, with gifts and trick gifts and poems. And finally Xmas, which used to be about the birth of Christ and about the silence of MidWinter. But it is all commercial now.
what a neat tradition
need help with r in 2nd column pls. only have ra4

i need to write a lament for small babble grids
well, have we had crossy's tidbit of the day yet?
but differentialise between easy fasties and tiny tighties.
a tidbit, a tidbit, i need a tidbit
crossy is on a diet... and so are we, tidbit wise
phone, again
!
ok, I will substitute: Here comes Crossy's tidbit of the day, brought to you by proxy sprite: "We all imagine pupils to be round – as they are the type we see most often (on humans) – but goats (and most other animals with hooves) have horizontal slits which are nearly rectangular when dilated. This gives goats vision covering 320 – 340 degrees; this means they can see virtually all around them without having to move (humans have vision covering 160 – 210 degrees). Consequently, animals with rectangular eyes can see better at night due to having larger pupils that can be closed more tightly during the day to restrict light. Interestingly, octopuses also have rectangular pupils."
(but most octopuses don't have hooves)
well hursh, I hope that made you happy. Fireflies for me, which makes me happy. Bye all!
g'morning all. ur 5/12?
ur and then 3 vowels
oh yeah and cats, and reptiles, have vertical slits that are like skinny footballs when light is bright and open up to become round. this is why cats look cuter and more curious in dimmer light, lol.

Holy guacamole! I just checked the definition of a word and it sent me to Dictionary.com! Does that mean Enable is gone?
And it turns out the ha 7 is a proper name, so that shouldn't even be included! LOL! Babble will never cease to amaze me!
OK.. I am off to work. I wish you all a wonderful day! {{hugs}} for all!
it's been sending me to dictionary.com since I started playing a couple months ago, car
i always rememner its going to dictionary.com
Hi mael! that is how observant I am then! Just thought it was "Enable". LOL! Oh well!
but, hilariously, sometimes the words in babble do not exist on dictionary.com
They must have updated their web page though, because it definitely looks different than usual.
:)
Bye!
is the ha7 a common word?
no.
car!
Ha7 sounds similar to tje first name of ms huffington of the huffington post

Hello, jmc
44 words? hard grid, I assume?
a few weird words.
hello joiners and unurkers
ruahn
try again mixi ;-)
5 lousy words left.
Like with any grid, the only hard words are the ones you cannot find.
there can't be a ru unless it has 2 Rs in it. . . otherwise it would come from the greyed out r
and I have all the r's. monkeys aren't cooperating.
haha!
pb jmc.
oh great *looks at remarks while sipping coffee*

odly, i found it from marais' clue -- and i learned something today.
good to learn something new each day:)
it is indeed :D
there it is ty
this is one of those smal and challenging grids i see
crossy does not like small grids with sharp teeth full of un-words
ah, so i should let the monkeys fly today
indeed
what i do with these is just lets our cat walk across the keyboard for a bit.you would be surprised how many he gets
LOL that makes sense
or ,if you have a toddler, just hit them pound away for a while
tell the child to enter any 4 letters they wish and hit the enter button, just put a gold star on enter button
LOL
but the jumbo ones are just as bad.all you do is add: er,ier, iers, est, ism.isms, iest, ers, oid, oids,ae,ea,eas, aes, iest to every single word and stay hydrated for the duration of the typing endurance contest lol
my fave size is tween 200 and 300
ing, ings too :)
yes,i know i missed a few
that way it is big enough to have actual words, but no so big as to have every single possible varriation of those words
indede

aebmusic: Ms Huffington is Ariana huffington, an author and founder of The Huffington Post.
hi guys, quick question, does anyone remember the link people used a whiel ago about tiny steps to start decluttering / cleaning ones hous?
flylady I think.
And hello!
flylady! TY! :)
and hello :D
No problem. Are you going to declutter?
nope, but someone I know wants to and I remember how good some Babble people found flylady
Ah.
I'm sure I had something else to tell you, but I can't remember now!
Great British Bake-Off?
I did love that last night!
Wasn't it spectacular? And those poor creme caramels that went splat.
I know! Those poor poor caramels. And the tortes! POtato flour!
I couldn't imagine how in the world you'd begin to get flour out of a potato.
I learn something every week and there's no horrible mockery of anybody.
not at all, and I love Mary and Paul, they are critical but kind. I learn how far beyond me most baking is!
Yes, it's constructive criticism. Did you notice the bit last night about the cake 'singing'. I remember being taught that years ago by an elderly lady. If it's still singing, it's not done.
The baking skills they display are amazing, especially when you consider that they're working with unfamiliar ovens etc.
Absolutely incredible. I'm completely in awe of them all.
oooh look at this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/programmes/b 013pqnm
Great! Now we can see if we can do any better...
I did buy the book of recipes from the last series and I've tried a few - they worked out well but I hasten to add that I didn't try anything too ambitious.
Let's see if *you* can!! :)
Looks like old times here. : D
Hello, hego.
hiya!
*Wonders how much cooking wine you need to have had before you hear your cake sing*
At least they've given full instructions for the creme caramels. And I've seen what can go wrong, so that should help.
It's not so much singing as slightly hissing. But it's true, it means that there's still too much moisture left.
oh yes the singing! I've never heard that before
And I didn't know that you shouldn't use a non-stick pan to make the caramel because it will crystallise. The pitfalls of baking!
nobody tells you this stuff.
I do like it that the bakers can actually surprise Mary with flavours or flours
We should export the programme to you in the States. It's far better than Downton.
The suspense of wondering if the cakes will rise or the meringues stay crisp.
We will have it sooner or later.
Will pepper in pastry be a hit or a miss? (It was a miss)
Haz likes to live on the edge.
You have no idea, hego.
pink pepper at that
such excitement!
Anyway, here comes the husband. I'd better feed him before he faints dead away. It's been three hours since he last ate.
Toodle-oo for now!
bye dear!
Bye!
bye Haz. Can't have hubby fainting.
Singing and hissing cakes. The things you learn about in Babble chat. : D
Haz is always very informative.

can I have stats for the I words?
is 4 iz 4 and 5
hi again all
no no sorry that is not is 4 it is ir 4
hi car
hi jmc... hows it going?
ir 4 iz 4 and 5
slowly. . . i keep finding anything but work to do
ty jmc - hi carlee
yw i was afraid i just confused you
ah... i am putting off washing dishes....but I did spend 2 hours cleaning out my car and am starting to pre for my 8 months of commute again
hi dan :)
prep*
i already started class last week. . .tomorrow i go again
got my sleeping bag and pillow and cooler, snow brush, knife and water and a spare pair of water proff shoes tucked inside the car
tomorrow is my first day
but for my determination not to quit i would quit
sleeping bag?
well...if I get stuck a: in snowmagedden..is warm... and 2 if am stuck on campus I have something to sleep in ..in residence
thank heavens it is only one class this semester so i drive 150 miles. . .go to class. . .drive 150 miles
ugh...3 hour drive each way????
seems early for snowmagedden even for canada
at least am 65 miles 1 way...but is 4 days a week i make that drive each way
*giggle* not the way i drive
it is early...but we have been known to be caught off guard the first week of oct... and if I get too busy...wellllll
mostly a super highway at 80 mph more or less legally
i am glad i get to come home each thursday rather than staying down there like i did last year
( I am hoping that by being incredibly prepared.... snowmageddon wont happen...) and not for cdns... if limit is 60, 65, 70...with cdn plate..u better be doing that...else we get pulled over BIG time
ah we get a 10 mph free zone. . .if you are 11 mph over you may get stopped
people in MI are even targetting cdn plates....get caught up in traffic... they pull ahead.....and when can..purposely back into you....since of course...in another country...well " just pay me cash now and we will forget about it"
really? what jerks . . . I never do that I insist we call the cops. . . it has always worked for me
AND... we were the target of HUGE road rage ( for what I did..no idea... cus i was just cruising in my lane ( right lane) going speed limit ( 65)..and some chick pulled in front..and SLOWED down.... i thought at first..something wrong...
some guy tried that with my boy thinking he was 17 (he was 24) and ended up really regretting it. . .even tried the "i'm friends with the local cops" card.
5 mi later..clearly not something wrong..so pulled to middle lane...passed her..she started railing at me... then for next 35 mi....was bob and weave...every time she managed topull in front of me...she slammed on brakes
wow! that is a scary story. . .I would find a peopled rest stop or mcdonalds and let her go. . .
other cars were even taking pics of her....i finally nipped in behind a limited transport....stuck to him like glue and she had no choice but to carry on...
good strategy
there...wasnt.... was insane ( and..she had 3 little old ladies in hte car with her)
what's a limited transport?
they were probably all white with fear!
18 wheeler... usually limited to 55...your upper speed limit is 60, 65, 70 whatever...but your lower is 55..and the transports are limited..that unable to drive much faster....and the computer on board will show their company what they drove
ah i c
the truck has a speed limiter on board... making the truck unable to go faster than 55...
that sounds dangerous. . .sometimes you need to excellarate to get out of a situation
on this was all happening just outside of detroit... around 10 mi was where it started... insane... chick was crazier than bat shit
( pardon my french)
accelerate
they can...but not for long duration... shows up in computer...like black box
nope not at all she was clearly crazier than bat shit
my kids were freaking out.. anyway...id you watch any of the dnc last night?
oh that is better then. . . as long as they can if they really need to
<---- loved it
no i was at the nationals baseball game. . .but been liking the various comments
cory booker... loved him...
is there more than one hi word?

tx so much minveryork
Small grid makes for quiet chats
yw
And the NFL season kicks off tonight : D
Small grids makes for happy babblers like me who have no time for big ones, especially on a work day. I got one left.
Go min!
I am saving my last word for later. I am doing a story now.
There are some challenging words for a story, min!
Yes, of course my story will not include the hard ones. I am not THAT good at writing a story of clues, maybe someday.
what happens when you dont have any words
Hello nose! How are you doing today? Welcome to the grid.
What do U mean if U do not have any words?U have to find them in the puzzle. There are 43 words to find in this grid.
hello Minveryork I am new to this dont know what i am doing
back for my last 5:)
Go crosshair go!
Hello crosshair! How are you? Welcome back to the puzzle.
why ty min:)
who's playing tonight Molly?
I ha4/8 just one word left so here is a story of clues. The Democratic Convention ai4/4 tonight. I live in an ar4/4 that has mostly Democratic. I am sure that most will be watching where I live. I refuse to wav4/7 in my decision to vote for Obama, although husband is trying to change my vote. I cover my ea4/4 every time he talks about his support for Romney. He is sure Romney will get elected. I tell him, ha4/6!That'll happen when hell freezes over! However, if that DOES happen I will pull out my ha 4/5. If Obama wins, I will yell, "Hu6/27!" My na 4/4 was the one who taught me about politics & voting. She always ra 4/7d about the Democratic party.Even though hubby supports Romney, I believe in the end he will ha5/18 on who to vote for once he is in the voting booth. Now I am going to get off my re 4/4 and go watch TV. I am going to go watch the movie An 4/4 and the King. I'll be back tomorrow. Hopefully the grid si 4/9 will be small again.
Cowboys and The Giants
oooh good game.. what time?
It's on NBC now here, not sure about the left coast. 8:30 EST
*pins "clever" button on Min's sweater*
oooooh.. i need to watch it
Oh dear, Min's story was political. *Makes sure The Sensitive Room is stocked up*
I love watching Romo get pounded
oh Political.. I'm outta here
I'm much happier watching football than all the hot air and empty promises coming out of Charlotte.
great story minver
ty for story min
always enjoy reading your stories - you're very clever
And now she has the "clever" button to prove it. : D
Shouting out to TNana. How is the new baby?

Yeah, well that's what happens to those of us who live in the gutter.

she is ok.worrying about her brother though
lol@ baby,he is 18,eats me out of house and home
crossy spawn is 5 foot 11 and has size ten feet and weighs in at 185
he's a BIG boy! LOL
I heard something about her brother -- he's still in a bad way?
Do my eyes deceive me?
Just Stiddie, Crossy, and me?
God stidmama go!
JB!!!!!! (((({{{{hugs}}}}))))
the clot is busted thank god ,they caught it before it got to the brain,he has not woken yet but they say there is no bleeding on brain, eyes are equal and reactive and he try to pull iv lines out ,so we are hopefull
down to 7 now, thanks Min
howdy jb
Hello stidmama! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
Hello JBsAnno! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle.
I will keep him on my list then, cross. I hope mrs cross will be okay, too -- so hard when we worry about people.
Yup, looks like the Giants are having an easier time winnng on the field than I am with this grid!
time to update your profile, JB... LOL
are you well? I miss you!
i am here for 15 min or so and can clue if needed
Sure is, Stid! Good to see you here, you too, Minver!
cross, I need the U please. probably just second letter and count would be enough.
Congratulations crossha4/5 on your fireworks! Good for U!
Will keep him in prayer, crossy, good to hear of positive signs!
pic of my "baby" at my website... :-) first day of school today
ur5/12 word is ur plus three more vowel in order stidmama
ur5 just add 3 vowels in order
thanks Min
sorry got distracted
that babblet always gets me. :-) thanks cross and min
Saw the pic, Stid, I have your Twitter ping my phone!
LOL you're far more tech-savvy than I am!
Well, there
is tech savvy (like hitting enter before finishing a sentence in the chog, LOL), and then there is Babble savvy!
;-)
But yes, love my tech and Babble works great now on my iPad, so give me wireless access and I am good to go!
Dang, Cowboys just scored...booyah!
yw
I babble on my ipad occasionally, but I am so hooked on physical keyboards that I only finish if I am at my regular laptop or using a bluetooth
boo cowboys? LOL
5...
Well, I am a pretty diehard Philly Eagles fan (and Phillies baseball, and Flyers hockey (I
I'll stop there), Philadelphia is fanatical about sports and I've contracted the fever!
Go Stid!!!! oh yeah {{{{STIDMAMMAAAAAAA}}}}}
I decided that I wasn't going to watch any professional sports again recently. So I have even more time to babble and surf the web now. *grumble* I am just so tired of the cheating, the crooked referees and the petty accusations when people aren't happy with results
Stiddy, take a look at the Targus versavue case with a bluetooth keyboard. I got it on the same day I got the ipad and have never looked back. Never used my netbook again, either.
Yeah, that's all considered part of the fun here, LOL!
evening, JBs and stid
looks pretty nifty, JB -- will think about that if I ever have extra money. Subbing doesn't pay very well, and the kid's list is coming first for the next year or so
hey seain
our tv is mostly a cat toy now.cable programming is mostly a let down now and sometime offensive that we used it only to play dvd movie and the cats like the aquarium channel
i opted out of TV a decade ago and don't miss it.
I usually do something else while watching sports: Babble, coupons, paper sorting, folding laundry. Good times, good times
we are mostly watching things on netflix now -- and when Dr Who or Sherlock Holmes are on.
SEAIN!! HowRya!
right now we are watching "get smart - again" which is not a very good movie, but I enjoy seeing don adams and the others
recovering from mono slowly, but otherwise generally well. Overtaxed myself a bit last few days, but have had a lot of fun. :)
<---Rooting against the Cowboys with JBs
Oh, mono, poor seain! NOT good times!
sorry you got mono
Hi, MollyL, I
I
Hi dcseain! Sorry to hear about mono.Hope you feel better
ty. really, seeing how long i went w/out contracting it, no real complaints aside from the usual tired of being tired :)
evening and ty, minver
Stid, about the keyboard, make sure you try it out, because some of the keys are in a different place that make my chog posts a lot shorter than I intend! I keep hitting the enter key when I need the shift key...
I had mono as an adult. It sucks. The fatigue is overwhelming.
Oh, scuse me, afk for a few, don't go away Stid, back within 10!
yes, that's the problem with really small keyboards.
Good Evening, Everybody.
hey nef! (((hugs))) how are you? how's the new job?
I'm baa-aaack!
Hi, Nef!!
I'm pretty exhausted tonight, stid. Working at the clinic all week (the manager is dealing with a personal problem). And Grandparenting is becoming a full time job too...
Hi JBs! How are you?
*gives JB MJCL and another hug*
oh gee Nef -- that's a whole lot to have on your plate
seain, all I could keep down when I was really sick with mono (for two wks straight) was grape juice. It took YEARS before I could drink it again.
still stuck on 5. second letter and count for the 7? pretty please?
Now, MJCL {{{{{:)}}}} makes a happy JBsAnno!!! THAT'S a drink!!
AND my computer is mucked up. I can't get into FB to quit my Words games that I can't play
haven't made one in quite a while -- trying to cut back on my caffeine LOL
what's with the computer nef?
<passing MJCL to Nef> Here, you need it more than me tonight. I'm just dealing with a litter-averse feline, but no computer access problems <shudder>
ha7/32 stid
TOR!!!
Heyas kids ..
I'm going to take it into the Apple store Genius bar next week if I can find enough time, stid.
hey tor, and thanks
Hi Tor.
*thinking about ha 7* not hantavirus...
Words had server issues earlier on my games, Nef, maybe it's not you...
that ha7 apparently is a type of cattle from India
ty for that, tor
stid, think of a girl's name that's 2 first names together, with additional vowel on end
it rhymes with that!
well, seems we have some good cluers going,so i will bid you all a good nith
night
maryellen, maryjane, maryalice,
g'night crossy
sweet dreams sue -- see you again soon
ha7 huffington
I like nith, crossy, have a great one :)!
really, JB? IF I get in even on my phone; I can't enter words right now; so I assumed the site must be wonky; but the computer problems are also real
ooooh! thanks seain. LOL and Tor and JB
now I am down to 4
Nef, do you access thru FB, or the apple app?
good clue, seain!
stats for the U pls?
I AM going to get more words, s'cuse me a minute
UR 5/12 babblet
LOVE the hymie robot in get smart, I miss the whole get smart gang
oh wow. not seen that one in ages. ty, stid
Good clue earlier in chog - ur + 3 vowels in order
get smart was a lot of fun.
I never see that one without help, seain, fortunately the lovely people here always give me a push
JB, I usually go through FB, but have tried Zynga too. I have an android phone (the Samsung GalaxieS); I've tried using their apps too. I also have a blackberry playbook and can't access FB at all through that.
Is Lickety up today? I am thinking I should just list
Hi
just looked, it is, stid :)
Nef, what's your player name (you can email me at myusername at yahoo dot com if you don't wanna chog it, I'll ping you in Words
g'day, herin
HERIN!!!
hi herin! How are you? Haven't been around too much lately
HOWDY. All good here. Just munching on Muffin bites until I can be bothered making a smoothy
hey lady
I would NOT be surprised to see MamaBear and Grey Wolf pop up on here tonight, so many old friends together.
okay, listing
Hmm, I wonder where that hottub key is...
***prowls in the back door ***
3... I think Woulf
{{{{{{{WOULF}}}}}}} woo-hoo!!! PARTY TYME!!!
ARRRRR We summed him. POUNCE on the woulf
JB, you can ping all you want; I'm still pretty much locked out til something works...
*whistles for cabana attendants*
hi, woulf
evening, nef
WOULF!!! YAY!!! :-D
I have coffee and vegan bites
WOULFIIIIEEEEEEEEE!!!
HI everyone -- {{HUGS}} for all
Herin, what you need is a shower of
wait for it...
Hershey's Kisses
evening friends
!!!!!!!!
AND mcurl!!!! *makes room in hot tub*
two, btw
I have been lurking and trying to do the grid while my wife is watching the game
Why are the tiny ones always so uncooperative?
Look, Stiddy found the key!!!!
I have those in the pantry. I am planing on making toll house cookies minus the chocolate in them and putting a hearsy caramel kiss on top when the dough is nearly done and then melting it. No idea if this will work or not. I plan on doing it with two cookies at different stages of cooking. If it doesn't work then I will put the chips in it
one...
on my way stid
Hi MC.
mcurl!!!!
hello herin
FIRWEEDS!
Yay stid!
jbs! how are you?
Oh, herin, you totally got me drooling!!!!
barely started here.....long day at school
what is the point of tollhouse without choclits??? *grumpy mama look* have I not taught you ANYTHING???? *failure teacher look*
Yay, STIDDDDDDDDDDDDMMMMAAAAAMMMMMMAAAAAA
YAY Stid!!! WTG!!!
BRB, DH needs something
ooooohhhh I love "Naked" tollhouse cookies!!!
Yay for STid!!
Doing good, mc!!! <frantically dodging the stinkeye from Stiddy>
sorry mcurl, about the long day -- hope it was okay other than long? I am just glad we are starting the year with plenty of good weather for recess!
finally got that last tricky word!
Yay, onyx!! Hot tub time!!
fine. you-all have your cookie dough, and _i_ shall consume the unloved choclits.
YAY onyx!
Amen to that stid. I have 5 stints outside per day!
Breath. The point is I am experimenting. I plan on making the dough minis the chocolate pieces. Then as they are about to be done cooking put a hersy carmel kiss on top and melt the kiss. Like a thumb cookie.
congrats, onyx
I don't want to make a batch of cookies with chocolate in them first if they totally fail on the first idea
Yah Onex
huh. ra5 is a ship which has had its height reduced by one or more decks.
So the finial cookie will have a top of melted Hersy carmel kiss if it works as I plan.
How could any cookie be a BAD cookie, herin? though I do admit, I fooled the DH the other day, what he thought were choc chip cookies turned out to be oatmeal raisin. There is a reason for labels and pictures on the package, after all, right?
There will be no unloved chocolate.
the only bad cookie is a burnt cookie
Hear hear, herein!
Hear hear, Woulf!
pizzelle with anise in them are bad -- i'm allergic to anise. So, there's a bad cookie, at least in my world.
JB if the thumb print kiss idea doesn't work it will be a tasty melted fail. I will just add the chips to the dough and away I go.
oatmeal rasin with some choc chips mixed in can be very nice
Grey top bad burnt cookie with burnt Naan bread . We labled that Naan Cookie in our house
some coarse salt stirred in with all that is nice too, woulf
Tasty melted fail - now THAT'S a great band name!
tasty melted fail can be quite lovely to eat, as well as a band name.
hadn't considered that, dc -- will have to do that real soon
<dives underwater for a minute, there's gotta be more words down here!>
DC those vegan muffins that I made were really yummy
sorry, I had to step away for a moment -- I am sure the cookies will be lovely, lady. I am enjoying seeing the suppers you post at fb
cool, herin! were they also glute-free, or just vegan?
I like anise, seain -- sorry you can't enjoy it.
down to 7, s, t, and v words. Almost there!
i can't have anise, fennel, caraway, nor licorice, nor spent much time around them. More for the rest of yall :)
DC they can be gluten free. You just have to find the oats that haven't been processed with wheat. As the oats here were $1.25 a bag and I am not intolerant I didn't care
aloe v4
Stid the reason I am posting the suppers on FB is so I can remember if the dinner was good or horrid
:D that makes sense, duh. Ta, herin
3 left, almost there, stidmama!
You can make your own flour by using a blender/processor and sifting it and reblending.
wow, seain -- if we are ever in the same location, remind me. Sometimes I eat those things, but can certainly avoid them!
go JB go!
Yay, fireworks!! oooohhhh, aaahhhh
hi all
wow, tiny grid!
Yay JB!
Hi, jes!!
evening, jes, a tiny grid full of weird words
Here is the recipe: http://tinyurl.com/8josoqo
Yeah, jes, there a a few babblets, and lotsa lesser used words, at least in my world!
I am sooo out of practice -- still have ten to go even with the list
DC we have a brand here called Freedom foods they have wheat gluten free oats
Whatcha need, GW?
here it's Bob's Red Mill for gluten-free oats :)
I
I've had that brand, seain, good stuff
I'll let you know soon -- I'm gonna try for a couple more minutes
yes, they are quite lovely products.
Okay! Sorry to offer and run, but it
I drizzled them in maple syrup because I like slightly sweeter food.
HI Jess
it's heading on to 11pm and I gotta get up at 6.
Night JB
DC can't you have gluten?
{{JB}}
If anyone wants to play Words w/ Friends, email me your username at jbsanno at yahoo dot com, and I'll start you a game!
hey jes, it's a small but tricky grid
dcseain on WWF for me, go fig :)
JB -- I am on there with my usual screen name/fb name
Dc poke poke
and firewords
"She'll toddle away, as all ****, with the Lord High Executioner"
never mind. power's out. later
Happy words to all, hope to see you all again soon. {{{Stidmama}}} thanks for the MCJL, mmmmm. Great to touch base with old and new friends, such a happy way to finish the day!! You'll see me as phillyanno on WW/Fs, cuz my jbsanno account got messed up. Good night!!!!! <poof>
Night Jess
night, JB -- see you soon
Yay dc!
g'night JB
g'night jes
(((JB))) I hope I'll see you soon.
oh -- YAY seain!
and bye jes
and great clue, Douglas! *scatters choclits at Douglas*
brb
Congratulations dcseain on your fireworks! Hooray for you!
Hi MINI
Hi {{Min}}
down to 2 -- the hi6 and the ha7
hi all
i took a hi6 to watch baseball
ha7 huffington
evening, jmc
take a break (hi6) and come back to it, woulf...
Hey there, jmc
take a hi6 from something
I always think that the hi 6 is related to hernias, like inguinal and hi****
and 1 to go
hey peach
back to back wins with 6 home runs both games! go nats
go woulf go --
hi peach
and hey jmc -- you must be talking baseball?
Prince Ha*ry and his mum D****
Hey, stiddie. I commented on your lovely flower last night but I think you had just left.
nice one, BR!
yes, the Nats have a had a rather exciting season, with a wow uptick here
that did it -- FIREWORKS
*sparkles at compliment* thanks peach -- I am so glad this one survived -- I lost all but four of my new dahlia plants, and only two of them actually flowered this year.
YAY woulf!!!
Yay GW!
thanks for the assist, I definitely needed it
congrats, woulf
woulf -- are you well? I miss seeing you...
Phantom: batraquomancy
Hi BR
I've been fine, stid -- I could offer the same tired excuse that I am tired from work, but my mom tells me that won't work anymore :) The family are all fine, but I am burning myself out at work and tend to play single player games
Hello GreyWoulf! How are you? Haven't seen you in awhile.
Congratulations GreyWoulf on your fireworks!Good for you
I was locked into World of Warcraft for awhile, but my interest in that has waned as well. So I have been basically nesting whenever I am online
Hello, herin
I have determined that I need to shake out of it, though and though I have said it before, I am going to make a more concerted effort to get back into the chog -- I do miss my interaction with everyone
Sorry you are burning yourself out, I am also pulling away a bit from online games and usually lurk when I babble -- Grant is teaching me how to play a shooter game on his video system. I am pretty good considering I am middle-aged, have philosophical aversion to guns and haven't played shooter games before.
Grey I have been playing too much skyrim
I have other friends who play World of Warcraft. They say it's quite addicting.
Grant plays skyrim, it's too freeform for me just now.
I like it because of the variants.
herin -- I still have to finish Morrowind before I consider Skyrim :) My biggest problem is having to share the computer with the family these days -- my wife has become quite the Facebook presence and the kids insist on their turns as well
I get frustrated because my figners don't yet automatically know which way to move the stick or which buttons to push. It's a lot more complicated than the wii games we have.
ah yes, your kiddos must be getting pretty big now, yes? Grant is 6 feet tall, you know, and so independent now. I felt very glad to spend a lot of time with him this summer.
What I find most annoying, stid, is when I leave a game like that for awhile and have to relearn what all the buttons do
This is why we have our own pcs
yes -- and since I am not a "gamer" I can stay away for weeks at a time. Which, of course, doesn't help my "enjoyment" level! LOL
Have you seen a clip from Roseanne about Jackies internet addiction? That is so me
the kids are definitely growing -- Seb is now in 1st grade, Kristianna in 4th, and both are loving it... though they are still adapting to getting up at 6 am to get ready for school -- I drop them off at a before school program at 7 on my way into work
herin -- re: individual pc's -- I just got my own laptop, but now i have to install my games onto it
yes, it was a real shock to Grant today to be up before noon... LOL first day back and all. And they moved the high school day to 15 minutes earlier than before. So once zero hour starts in a couple weeks... *sigh* it's rough to be a teen
Cost is a real pain here for high end laptops
anyway, I should probably get myself slowed down so I can sleep. Sub services call as early as 5 sometimes, and though I hope to NOT be called tomorrow, I sure wouldn't want to turn it down. Back again someday, I hope. ***hugs for babble family*** see you-all soon! *poof*
I got lucky -- I don't have a true high end, but it seems to be a decent high midrange -- I was able to get it on sale and my friend who know computers better than me say I did pretty good... of course I wouldn't have been able to get it without my bonus from work
{{stid}} -- g'nite -- see you soon
I also have to admit that discovering Kickstarter back in Feb has also helped to eat my time -- I have helped to fund several interesting (to me at least) roleplaying game projects... I just hope they end up at least half as good as they sounded when I pledged my money
Night Stid.
Grey I cheat and use a HD tv for added gaming awesome.
Are you interested in the Fallout Series?
interested, yes -- have the time to play it, no I also have to find games that the kids can also play -- so I have a PS3 and we play a lot of the various Lego titles
Goodbye stidmama! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
These guys did a series of Fallout NV on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/user/WaysideCre ations THese guys are brilliant
Hello herin and greywoulf and minv
Hi Jilly
I will have to check them out -- but I have trouble following any webseries as well -- for example, I love 'The Guild' but have only been able to watch a couple of episodes... I am sooo far behind on things
Hi Jillyjill
These guys are in production at the moment.
brb
I'm finally back. Sorry I was gone so long; missed a lot of chog I guess.
Well, I need to go -- the curse of having to get up at 6 to start the day-- I will be back soon -- I promise, and you can tell my mom that I finally stuck my nose back in the log
{{Hugs to all}} luv ya, miss ya, see ya soon *poof*
bye Woulf! Take care!!
Bye woilf
Hey nef, your cute red headed doc showed up but I haven't met him yet
bye greywoulf
May I please have a clue for hi6-24? Thanks
what's the gossip say about him?
nothin yet...
did he just get there?
When can I find out what the answers to the puzzle? I did pretty well this time but I still want to know the wacky words I missed.
hi + color *ed +princess dIIII
been here a few weeks...
oh, should be princess d****
Marais a word list should be generated in 24 -48 hours after completion. Go to Archives then select the date. There should be a word list
Thank you.
Also if you wanted to know now you can go to the bottom of this page and bring up Lickety's list which has the first 2 tiles listed for words
Sorry marais, eating popcorn and trying to clue one handed...
When you click on Archives then the date of the puzzle you want there will be blue writing that says 'View word list' click on that for the list
I've been using Lickety's list but I think Babble cheated this time and made up words ;)
Yes that is called Enable the offical scramble dictionary that always makes up words
I'm done! I finally have fireworks! hi6/24 was my last word
Yah MINI
I find words in OED that work but Enable won't take them.
WooT WooT WooT Minv!!!
Does anyone want any clues before I retire for the evening
Well I am done. I am going to go get things done about the house
LOL, all but a few were on enable marais...
Congratulations herinfernallady on your fireworks!Hooray!
Someone has to vaccuum and since I am the only someone here I have to do it
TY everyone
Goodbye herinfernallady!I will see you tomorrow in the log
Bye herin...*hearing varoom of vacuum in background*
That's the joy, the wonder, the mystery of Babble - Finding new and exciting words that don't exist ANY WHERE ELSE ...
I am following herinfernallady out the door. Goodnight all!
Going to go torment a cat. He hates the vacuum
LIke your thinking....herin...just like my hubby...
Help! can't find the hi6 even with jilly's clue.
hi 6/24 word means to go on a break (especially tv shows).
I wish my DH would think about using a vacuum sometimes.... even a Roomba (which we have!) would be helpful
*hi 6/27
*OOPS! That is the the hi 6/24 word
Got that one min, missing the other hi6.
There is only ONE hi6 word in grid. Other is hi 7/32 Roses6.
Jilly clued it at 10:28 but I couldn't undertand it with the clue.
OOPS!It's an ha 7/32 word. Okay, I really need to goto bed
I keep messing up!
me either; but I'm tired so nothing I tried made sense
there is only one 6 and one 7 hi words...
ha 7/32 word is ha plus Princess D****, replace D with hook
the 7 is ha+*oses6+princess d****
Okay, I really have to goto bed. Story of clues is in profile.
*POOF*
Thanks Min
And Jilly
thanks minv...sweet sleeps!
OMG finally! Thank you all for leading me to it!
hu6/27 - a hearty cheer
crap...I'm in the wrong....
tor, with your last clue; I FINALLY noticed the double R's
Maybe I should go to bed. I have to work tomorrow again and am finding that I'm more tired these days
Only one other word uses them both ..
That seems to be going around, Nef ..
the tiredness, tor? or the getting older? ;-)
I thought you had retired nef?
ta4-5 please.....thanks
ta+double consonant, then pl for the 5
ta + human resources + pl.
and by double consonant, I mean not matching and not single hump letter
I did, Jilly. But I went to a Board of Nursing meeting and found I really missed nursing and networking with other nurses; so right about that time my old Exec. Director asked if I'd come back "for 6-8 hours a month" while we expand and move part of the Center to another building.
The tiredness, Nef .. The other is a constant ..
Thanks much, Jilly and tor.
They always say we can't retire...I don't know if I'll ever afford to test that theory ;P
I'm filling in this 1 1/2 weeks (full time) for the clinic manager while she tends to some personal stuff.
ar5-12 please.....thanks
ar5/12=ar+what you wear on your head
I had always said I'd retire by dying at the bedside (in ICU), but my foot injury changed that idea
(Thanks, Jilly)
Thanks so much, Jillyjill.
Well, I just wish I didn't feel such a draft on my neck having 23+ years here and top of pay scale...
yvw ga
Jillyjill, I am unable to get the blankety-blank letters together for hi6-24. It is the last one for this grid. Will you dumb it down please.....thannks
Such a draft? What do you mean? I was in the same unit in CV-ICU for 28 years, CCRN for 25 years, and top of my pay scale too when I was injured
Ga...working on it
hi + past tense of eat (-last letter) + you and me, ga
We have a pretty myopic CEO Nef...nurses are an expense....
Thanks so much, Nef and Jillyjill.
fw
LOL! I often wonder why the su 4/5s feel that way. After all; the reason people need to be in hospitals is they need NURSING care
WooT WooT WooT ga!!
YAY, GA!!!! WTG!!!!
The problem is that there isn't a charge they can bill patients for on nursing care...
Yay peach!
I got a memo telling me that my department hours are up from budgeted (I don't do budget) Budget was based upon 2010 hours which was before we went EHR....we will never be as efficient as when we were on paper...
yeah, "nursing" is not a charge. They charge$500-$1000+ for a "Bed" but we (nurses) aren't listed on thebill
really? then you must have a bad EMR system
We use Cerner, it's not bad but everyone hinges on it...our meds, supplies and documentation...everything! It takes 45 min to an hour longer to do each patient.
I bet we'd have better nurse-patient ratios if the hospital could charge for nursing time
We used to watch the waste at the end of a case, then come back later and sign. Now to waste, two nurses: one logs in, picks patient, then picks "waste" then second nurse logs in, then amount entered, then "done" then you start all over again. Most patients have two wastes each case...
We use Excellion or EPIC (can't remember which is the trade name); most of the hospitals and clinics around here are also on or converting to it. It's really smooth once you learn it
<---on cloud 9. Hello all
The better part ofo my day is spent logging on, and 'click, click, click....." It really is cumbersome. It's also an intranet program, so whenever they have a new client come on board...things go wonky
Do they each have to sign out afterwards every time?
No, nef, just in. And all our supplies have to be scanned in individually, before we just marked a box...
Or does it automatically sign you out with each page change?
oh dear.
Hi cos... What's up?
ah just had a good night watchin tv :) how u doing Nef
So basically, that's an average of 4 hours/day for nursing hours...
tired, cos. I should be in bed (and asleep) now
Well, must toddle off to bed...another day awaits...bye all....
Hi cos...enjoyed your FB post!!
I think of cerner more as an organizational and mgmt system than true emr. Are all Of you (nurses, pharm, docs, therapists, everyone) writing notes and placing all orders in cerner?
have a good night both of u!
(sorry, had to step out a sec after last post)
I'm heading off to bed too.

Net
Nef (autocorrect)
Yes kje...we are...big publicity for our CEO, first hospital in state our size to go EHR totally in one fell swoop
kje, Excellion (or EPIC) everyone charts and orders through it. It really is patient-centered
Yes, I've used epic, meditech, cprs (VA). So far my Dave is meditech
Fave!
Ours is Cerner Millenium
:-)
Why does it autocorrect fave? A perfectly common slang
Jilly, there is def a learning curve, and emr def doesn't correct all problems, but does get mire efficient over time. Hang in there!
I donn't know kje. But I need to go to bed now.
GN
I should be in bed, but just got home from a late work mtg, was falling to sleep there so drank coffee, now awake, darn it
niiters
oops, sorry
(POOF)
LOL nef. Blame it on autocorrect. Works for me
LOL nef. Blame it on autocorrect. Works for me
Well KJE, I always thought that, but we are at top speed now, the three of us pretty good with computers to begin with, but we are still left with it taking 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour longer, we've been on it for 1.5 years now
that's longer per patient. We were extremely efficient on paper...
I'm not dissing the EMR, just we will never be as efficient and I am damn tired of the su4/5's thinking we should be
Jilly - I dropped out of typing class in HS. HATED it. Decided then I would never become a secretary. Finish med school and the whole medical world moves to typing....I've gotten pretty fast with a couple fingers each hand!
Is it just emr efficiency, or have they added a lotof documentation requirements? Seems like nurses have to document more and more and there is a lot of duplication between professionals which just wastes time.
LOL...I thankfully excelled in typing class, and wss blessed to have taken a job in '82 for the Air Force where I cut my computer teeth...
Oh, and our MD's here are ready to revolt. They actually put on extra MD's in ER and hospitalists due to the system's documentation...
And you have to remember way too much...there is only one part of the program that cues you you missed something. For instance, I can document I gave an IVP drug before I even entered that I started the IV, and the same is true at DC
I had worked on a program in Home Health 5 year ago, and it cued you on everything.
That just sounds like a crappy system
Oh well have to be up in 6 hours and do it again...must really get to bed, but I am not a particular fan of Cerner, and our training and support from company was crap! Learn by doing, not that we were ever adequatly trained...but must *poof*
Gn Jilly. Rest well
