anyone remmeber the Noid from dominos?
hi and bye all who showed up while I was checking email!
so
oops, entered too soon
goodnight jilli
no, flosey, I'm not leaving -- just saying goodbye to those who are
oh, well, I'll be leaving very soon, busy day tomorrow
making lunch for hubby's guests, then off to a 1: AH game
Have fun at AH, flosey -- who's your partner?
I have to go to Duncan tomorrow, for car service.
Liz, and playing BB and Donna M
ah, well have a nice lunch while there
planning a big family do for friday.. irst time together in three weeks.. we have all had coklds /flu and didn t want to share
thinking of doing the super bid lasagna and the k.a. salad
Where? I have to leave my car and they only offer a taxi to one place, and the place I want to go to has no decent lunch place.
sounds good s'mom, have fun
oh darn, that's no fun
just east of cleveland jill... come on
ty flosey
hey, anyone want to come over to my place and babysit mother mac on the 6 th? would be greatly appreciated.
would be happy to rose, if I could
just thought i would put it out there. lol
ah, well. can't blame a girl for trying. *giggle*
haha, s'mom! There are losts of nice places in Duncan, just not walking distance from where I'll be dumped for 2 hours. No loaner cars available.
in that case jiul, the manager should loan yiou their personal car.. tell them i said so.
I already told them what I thought of their policy. It's ok if you live nearby and have friends who can take you places, but when youare alone and have to pay a ferry fare and can't use the time to go places over there, it's very frustrating. I make that point.
*made
jilli, is this the only place to have your car serviced? surely, there must be somewhere else a little further down the road.
morning :)
hi sarah
hi sarah
morning sarah. {{hugs}}
My car is a Toyota, and it's the closest Toyota dealer.
Good early morning, Sarah!
well my dealer is 5 minutes down the road. come on over, baby-sit mother and have your car serviced. problem solved. lol
Yeah, right, granny, I'll just zap me and my car right through Mother Earth. Oh wait, then I won't need any such material transportation anywhere.
what a hoot! what sort of toyota do you drive, jilli? i have a yaris.
2004 Corolla LE -- snazzy leather seats, "moonroof".
my yaris is last year's model. driven properly it gives a lot of other cars a run for their money. oh, did i mention it's a manual? and my middle name is Brabham?
Ew, kewl, granny! I'm lazy and My yoyo is automatic -- but years ago I zipped around in a red Sunbeam Alpine...
manual, of course. Also had a Mini with a very tough manual.
i had a corolla, and it was badly damaged in a hail-storm. replaced it with the yaris as i wanted to down-size. Don has a holden ute, dual cabin, which is big enough for all 3 of us. and the yaris is RED, of course.
My Corolla is "titanium", i.e. a silvery colour -- doesn't show the dirt, thank goodness. I need the size because we car-pool on occasion.
Back in the early 70s we had a yellow Toyota Corona hatchback. They don't exist any more.
mine was gun-metal blue, in some weather it looked grey, and in others it looked blue.
oh, i so remember the coronas, and always wanted a yellow one.
what's a yoyo jilli?
I think they were almost the first Toyotas over here.
yoyo = Toyota :-)
did you buy it with no strings attached?
Hi ruru
hi
oh god.
:D
*ducks under table as ruru loads up*
anyone care to drop a hint re: the pa8? I saw it's a compound, but haven't had any luck with it
and jilli? ithink you sa4 you were on your way to bed.....
good idea, granny

Where is Molly?
she doesn't do the flip.. too crazy for her
Well, it was supposed to sound "southern". I guess I don't do "southern" well.

cos?? how are you going?
are there lots of weird words in this one? I swear I don't see any more, and I"m only at 88 done. :P
Hi rbud - there are oddio wordios in here I have had to resort to list
hi grannyrose. time for towel-chewing?
hello you 2. or am i not allowed to be spoken to?
oh, thank goodness, starting to feel like a second-rate citizen here.
patience patience chog response is dead-slow-sssstop here
*smiling at you* have noticed when certain peeps are in chog, there is a wall of silence when i come in. *shrug* have never sa4 anything against them.
anyway, enough, i say. let the chog begin..how are you, scouser?
that happens to me too - partly because now I am retired I am babbling at a time when most people should be working or doing the housework.
I am slowly recovering from what has become a chest infection brought by the grandchild.
ah, perhaps that is the explanation. if you are here, and i am here, will make an extra effort to speak up. deal?
OK grannyrose. Deal. Also, sometimes I have to rush finishing puzzle so I can get on with h/wk etc etc etc so sometimes you'll see me online but I might not respond
yuck, scouser. are you on the mend? of course you are, you just sa4 so. but we don't bounce back the way we used to, hun.
no we don't bounce anything like as rapidly.
scouser, housework very badly over-rated. babble much more important. ;P
I agree completely. But occasional cleaning has to happen - usually I leave computer on and do a word as I go past as it were. Incidentally I had to e-mail Dr God as there was something wrong with the scores last week. He has corrected them now.
I use my computer a lot as I am treasurer/mem.sec of a local history organisation with 880 members. Busy bee this week AGM Monday coming.
back from the kitchen with goodies in hand
just keep on healing, scouser. i have learnt over the past few months just how unimportant housework is. i maintain the minimum, ie clean dishes, fresh food, clean clothes, and bills pa4.
what goodies rbud? I am in need of cup-of-tea right now. I once dropped a large portion of Pavlova into a keyboard, instantly unplugged it (how useful that was) and washed it under the tap, got out hairdryer..... no problem worked a treat once re-plugged!
lol, scouser. i think my hubby just fainted.
haha, I've heard of people showering with their dirty keyboards and having them work fine afterwards, guess it may be true then!
oh, and I have the last brownie and a little ice-cold milk
and, rbud....what goodies? i, too, am very interested
yum, brownies....haven't had one in eons. love brownies. chocolate?
warm, gooey brownie, from the microwave, oozing melty choc. chips, yum!
waahhh!!! want rbud's brownie.
sob sob chocolate gives me migraine i love the sceny of it
scent
Ha ha! Hi scouser, hello all.
poor scouser....sniff on, sweetie.
hey hydra
Just popped in briefly as have to get back to correcting my chapters.
Hiya granny.
Hydra - I've been brung low by eva's bug. Stayed in bed Thursday - Sunday and am still dragon-snorting and wheezing. History repeats itself - this happened last year.
so sorry, ladies, I'll try not to smack my lips and make a big production of my brownie
but wondering - what's a Pavlova?
rbud and grannyrose - Hydra and I have a sixty-three - year-old friendship.
Poor you, scouser. Which reminds me, must buy my homeopathic flu remedy again. You take it from October to May and I much prefer it to a flu jab.
A Pavlova is an Australian pudding - gigantic meringue ring with cream and fruit (raspberries my fav) filling.
I think I actually got the flu now.
62, I think, scouser. Ooh, I love pavlova! haven't had one for years.
pavlova!!! you don't know what apavlova is??? my poor darling rbud.
Too late for your flu jab then, scouser.
mmm, sounds yummy, but I can see that would be hard on a keyboard.
haha, guess I've led a deprived life
No matter what length I give that friendship Hydra chops a year off cos her birthday is 6 months after mine !
pavlova was named after dame anna pavlova, who was an iconic ballet dancer. crisp but light and fluffy.
probably but last year the nurse gave it to me anyway after I had my September "flu"
Dr Nenninger Triple Flu Defense. You take it once a week.
Stop talking about food, you lot, or I'll be tempted to bake instead of work. See y'all later.
was Pavlova first made for Margot Fonteyn? implying that she was the second Pavlova?
which perfectly describes her technique.
no scouser, to my memory, pavlova was made here in ozland well before margot fonteyn.
heeheehee, I love following the chog, two steps forward, one step back - amazing how easy it really is to keep track after years of practice
Aha. another myth bites the d4
*blushes* i was in training for the australian ballet school when i made my decision to do nursing instead.
aw, g'rose you're a dancer? how lovely!
brill grannyrose. My mother was in ballet school in Moscow but then the revolution (and frostbitten toes) put paid to a career in the ballet. But she was a fab dancer - people would clear the floor for her and my dad. I did not inherit.
and rbud - I presume its some form of cha-cha?
lol! :)
rbud, not anymore, sweetheart. too many pounds, and too many years.
mind you, with latest developments. can now plie to over 90 degrees. maybe a comeback in the offing. LOL
*pictures g'rose in her tutu*
just because i can't do the dance, does NOT mean i don't appreciate the dance. and, rbud...i still have my tutu and my point and soft shoes.
and I'll bet you've always moved more gracefully than most because of your background. you just can't escape it, I don't think.
well girls I gotta go now and get to the bank. LOL. byee
later, scouser!
I know I had several acting classes in college, and they were given by a fellow who insisted we needed to "tune our instruments", namely our bodies. we did all kinds of exercises, and I still find myself hearing him saying "shoulders back, tuck in your behinds!" and the like.
I know I was affected for life, in a good way.
bye, scouser. remember our pact. have a great day.
*giggle* maybe not gracefully, but certainly quicker. i once had a fellow male shopper tell me i should be on the australian cricket team because of the way i caught hold of a toddler trying to dash into the road.
my late brother was a dancer, he was wonderful. speaking of people clearing the floor - he used to take up the whole dance floor in the bar when we'd go out - everyone would just stand back and watch. and the girls would line up to dance with him, cause most guys just won't, lol
I wish I had known your brother! Dancing was my fvorite thing until I got married again :(
{{rbud and dear rose}}
(((ruby!))) hello, dear!
ruby, love and run. dinner ready. bbl
living in Miami and New yORK, SALSA WAS THE THING AND THE sPANISH BOYS USED TO MAKE ME SHOW THEM, OFF THE DANCE FLOOR, THAT i COULD DO THE MOVES. "SKINNY WHITE GIRL, ETC, NO HIPS"
BYE Rose, letter later
you mean you had to pass their test before they'd dance with you in public? lol!
ah, fireworks, and off I go! sorry to miss a chat, ruby, see you next time. :)
clue for the an6/7 please
Ooo, look at the skinny white girl shaking her hips!

xeiluj, i, too, have no middle name. have never missed it. just wanted to be called heather, not the name my mother gave me. then my adored hubby, gave me my new name...rose.
My twin brothers hated not having middle names and so when they were teen agers became Brian Lancelot and Michael Ebenezer
thanks for all the 7s
I always wanted to give my middle name back lol
wow, jenny, so unusual. wtg for them
yay, seaspray for getting them.
good morning everyone:)
all my brothers have middle names...and my mother has all their graduation photos in beautiful wood-grained frames. my graduation photo is in a cardboard frame which was how it was given to me.

HEY KJE!!!!!
hi granny
and the point is???? crossy?
and so you shouldnt granny.good thin g about being an adult is you are cordless now and can tell mum to go pound sand
my dad was military - we were not allowed to let our rooms get that messy

I can hear my neighbor snoring from downstairs
ap4/6, ap + **d, opposite of even
ty!
oh, dear, kje, time to invest in ear-plugs?
should I stick an anonymous note on the dorr suggesting they be assessed for sleep apnea?
sounds like a good idea, kje. if they can be heard from the next floor up....they probably don't feel all too crash hot either.
I would stick with the ear plugs, upset neighbours are not nice people
lol xeiluj... anonymous! I'm in a 12 unit bldg!
then again, xeiluj, they might appreciate a reason as to why they feel so lousy when they wake up.
actually, I'd never have the guts to really do it... but seriously, I can hear them upstairs... not loud up here, but enough
True, but which one of us wants to be told we snore?!!?
think how loud it must be for their spouse
i was fortunate, and my new husband felt comfortable to tell me about my snoring/apnoea
I know, mine does it all the time, but then. he does say i do as well lol
dammit, just caught the kittens foot in fridge door:(
down to 16 and really not seeing much now
Ouch, poor kittie., is he ok?
ouch, cross... is it ok?
Hi kids.
gm scrab
peeps with sleep apnoea most times don't understand as to why they feel so lousy every morning. i really do bless my CPAP machine.
Poor Amos.
hey scrabbler
check out today's scrab....
seems to be..herrit says that if your patient is too fast to catch to examine properly, then he is usuall ok
i have apnea, but my machine is a curse as well as a blessing to me'
sounds reasonable, cross
and the kitty's foot was in the fridge door because???
Today's what, kje?
bc cats are curious
because he is a kitten and curious
snap kje
kje, it is EARLY for you!
no joke, scrab... and I've been up for an hour and a half
Any chance of going back to bed?
* head nodding* fair enough, crossy. ... hubby says my CPAP is quieter than i am...and i do have to admit, i do awake more refreshed after using the CPAP
well, technically I'm still in bed
3.5 hours sleep is my usual.you get used to it

Good for you, kje.

hiya Scrabs!

ty, kje
yw
lbd,,,,hello!!!!!
another reason for the weight loss.to get rid of this apnea
crossy, it's a chemical which our bodies produce to tell our bodies it's time to slow down.ie, time to sleep.
Beautiful rose, lbd
hi Granny!
ty, BR
Yikes, I must get ready for work. Bye kids, Enjoy the day!
have no problems GOING to sleep..it is staying asleep that is the issue
hagd, scrabs
i can literally fall asleep in under 2 min
later scrab
Hi Granny just back from school got on ok happy with what she is going to put in place and also arranging more help for Imogen did make it clear that we would not go to her if it happened again
melatonin should keep you asleep, and if you awake, it is easy to go back to sleep.
i will keep it in mind granny
yay, craftylady. knew you would get the right result.

Finding words I cannot find first is always a goal.
okay, to my fellow babblers. will see you at the flip.
goodnight.
Be well, Rose
Enjoy what's left of your evening.
gn granny
goodnight granny
Any snow, Haz?
Thankfully not, BabbleRabble. We've had a lot of rain and there's flooding in the fields but no snow.
and you, too, BR. and crossy and haz, look forward to seeing you next time. goodnight, craftylady.
Flooding is not good.
The trees are starting to change colour and I came upon the council workers lifting the summer floral displays this morning. The season is definitely changing.
This year has been incredibly wet although we haven't suffered quite as much in Northern Ireland as the mainland. It's still had quite an effect on farming, with some cattle housed throughout the summer because the fields are so waterlogged.
There was a report last night that the potato harvest will be delayed and the yield will be bad. Disaster for potato lovers here!
Flooding has wide-ranging ramifications
sweet dreams, Granny
I know and flooding seems to be getting much more common. It seems to be a combination of factors but the mess left behind is horrible.
send the rain this way, Haz. really need it to put out the fires.
How close to you are the fires, lbd?
I know, this chat log really brings it home to you just how different our weather systems are and what one sees as disaster, another would relish.
fortunately, i'm not very close to the fires, just getting the wind drift of smoke. JillyJill and HarpJane are really in the midst of the sawtooth fire. air quality is hazardous.
... hands across the water ... hands across the sky ...
Good morning everyone!
Hi Car
Good morning, car.

It has been so long since we have shopped for electronics.
though i do buy all my furniture from a local independant shop that also has its own mill .the lumber is harvested locally, the employess are all local and you have a book full of wood finishes nad fabric swatches to choose from as your stuff is made at time of order

wow!!! Apple is expected to ship the unlocked iPhone 5 phones starting next month, October, or possibly in November, similar to last year’s iPhone 5. However, some third-party retailers are also offering the phone, unlocked, and they’re shipping the device worldwide. According to our latest online checks, the 16GB iPhone 5, factory unlocked, is available for $850 (16GB model), plus shipping and warranties. Apparently, it is more expensive than the suggested retail price. think i will stick to my 45 dollar bell cell phone
did someone mention food? I went apple picking today and apples I usually pick next month sometime are ready now. Can you say global warning

Hey there, stidmama.

*bounce bounce* I TAUGHT MUSIC!!!! *twirls like a ballerina* I had so much fun...
I even managed to help the band sound BETTER on a couple play-throughs of their current music. *proud mama look* I was worried I wouldn't be able to sight read music that well any more.
yaaaa! kids like music class.less chance of them burning the school doiwn and doing crack in th asiles
LOL too true!
we used to count the seconds till music class;)
Well, tomorrow I get to teach math... and I like teaching math there. The kids who won't work for me are consistent, and I know what to do. So I don't have to fret. <-- music term... *grin*
that sounds a little scary. it was brave of you to step into such a class, or are you musical?
you're so versatile!
I am a musician, or was, once upon a time. I am a vocalist primarily, and was considering being a musical ethnologist. Then I had kids and my world turned upside down. Mostly in a good way.
how interesting.
help on the U and the A in the second row please? just past halfway and would like to get NBT before I go to my kid's open house.

suze,were you chatting with carlee?
corn nuts shouldn't be that hard... I am sorry you hurt your tooth.
I googled how many russian peasants to the inch with unreliable results
Okay, time for me to head out. I am down to 38, thanks to you-all, and back tomorrow evening to unwind.

Will your dentist see you right away, sue?
no biting any more bullets for you sue.
probably not, he has an emergency cell phone number but I think I will wait until morning
it doesn't really hurt
Sorry that it happened, sue.
it's quite a statement that you'd consider emigrating for health benefits for your partner.
me too. don't need this right now.
oh, I should have health benefits for him way before that, mab, I am considering emigrating anyway
if it doesn't hurt it can wait until tomorrow. expensive though.
Oh.
i hope soon with the benefits. I only caught a little of what's going on but it sounds just miserable.
hi all
Ruru, have you gotten to the t's.....if so, did you think of Little Richard?
hi carlee
anyway I had better go feed the animals and walk the dog
hi carlee!!! and bye!!
hi mab...hi and byw sue :)
I did gapeach.. I saw a Concert with Little Richard once.. he was fantastic.. what a showman
Indeed.
I saw the Tu5 right away.
I had to smile when I found it.
is he the one with the cape and the breaking down act after singing and dancing so much?
Think that's James Brown Mab
*woooooooo* spins.. I feeeeeeeell gooood
oh yes. i saw james brown.
I ran into James Brown at the airport once...he was surrounded by hughe
Wow, not one, but two people who have seen James Brown. I'm in awe.
I really like James Brown.. awesome talent
we saw him somewhat past his prime, long time ago.
uusue2, I had a good experience a couple months ago w/my dentist. I too broke a tooth (molar) even had the broken piece. I went in, expecting to get yet another cap and he said if I wanted him to, due to the place it was broken, he could fix it w/o a cap. He just did it like a large white filling, he kind of wrapped the filling material around the tooth. What a genius! I was SO HAPPY! Good Luck to you!
moral to story: save whatever piece of you falls off.
oh sue might have left already. i hope it goes as easily as yours though mimi
I'm not commenting on past his prime.. since I'm past my prime
i think that's just good advice regardless, mab
men. He saw me coming and gave me one of his very toothy smiles......My daughter was on the same plane and I asked her how things went and she said every time he moved a finger the body guards would surrount him. Yes, I like his music too. He lived across the Savannah river in South Carolina. He was on a rampage not far from where I lived and was shooting into some offices.....he did jail time for that. Sorry his life was so tragic.
we were a little too. but isn't hasn't james brown died?
he was probably coked out of his mind gapeach
wow. it's good to have an entourage.
Oh, you know it, ruru.
or at least a couple of goons
Yes, mab, he died (I can't remember the year) but not all that long ago.
ended up with Francis, ru

boulevard was booked all weekend, and benu only had a late reservation friday night at 9 which would be at midnight for my east coast friends who would have just flown in friday afternoon... seemed cruel
near Castro and market
but I def want to get to boulevard - looked like a good menu and nice vibe
ah.. yeah..
I love Boulevard.. but it's always booked
I don't think the moral to that story helped John Bobbit.
posterity?
they did reattach his penis though didn't they?
Oh, you're right Mab, they did.
can you imagine the road crew picking up that litter?
Oh, I did get to talk with Melvin Franklin (the original Temptations) on a flight coming into Augusta. He was a delightful person....told me that the band had two countries in Europe in one day. Well, the countries are closer together there.
I've always thought the cops that had to search that field looking for it have some great stories to tell.
love the temptations
<---Loves anything Motown.

Back in a few.
War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing. - original title of War and Peace.
I was surprised that I liked "Cadillac Records". I thought it was going to be a bomb.
No one sings War like Jackie Chan. : D
I've not heard that, but I think Jackie Chan is extremely attractive.
It's a bit in the movie Rush Hour.

Grammar Nazi 498 up, 183 down A captious individual who cannot resist the urge to correct a spelling and/or grammar mistake even in informal settings. After pointing out the linguistic shortcomings in others, a Grammar Nazi feels a strange sense of twisted and unconstructive intelligentsia delight. In reality, they are making someone else feel bad for no reason and unintentionally implying that their "superior" grammar skills are all they have to show for a wasted liberal arts education. While proper grammar usage is all well and good, a Grammar Nazi cavils even insignificant errors in English to somehow win an argument. Of course, rather than being genuinely persuasive in an argument, pointing out English errors is a weak attack only on the typist's credibility and never has any bearing on the underlying premises and assertions therein. In other words, this is simply a disguised ad hominem argument which intelligent and logical people disregard. Still, one should strive to spell and use words properly, but arrogant and unsolicited advice is not a very persuasive way to teach English.
hi all. i have ga 4 6 x2. what is third g word?
babble are you a nazi?
Always. Are you a babbler?
uu, mimisue left you a note in the chog.
Ah, the joys of overcorrection. Not to be encouraged in any company. Ty Babble Rabble for your essay.

pa 8 is a compound word for a type of outfit once favored by hilary clinton

reminds me of when I was an undergraduate, at a university near me a bunch of guys started a sexual freedom society - unfortunately only guys showed up for the meeting, and that is not what they had in mind :-)

ah, thanks, mab! I wear them too, or did (beats skirts IMHO)

you are lucky stidmere
Really, Julia Child was right; people should not be afraid to eat. Moderation is the key, small portions of lots of things, etc.
I'm g'mere, Crossy. Mama is at youngster's school Open House.
never be afraid to eat.after 3 cancers, nothing scares me.you never know when the next cancer stick is going to hit you lover the head so never be afriad of life
And Nora Ephron used to say have a donut if you really want one. Depriving oneself of good things is not so good for one's health either.
julia is quite correct, eat what you will but in moderation
cause in 100 years, not matter who you are or what you eat,you are dust in the wind.a worm feast so live
Are you seeting the moon tonight? Beautiful and a treat because there is no cloud cover.

i am stuck with the an words. clue for the first an 5 and the six and seven after it please.
started out slow but got good in the middle then ended kinda flat
Doing very well tonight, Molly. How are things with you?
Doing well Peach. I'm working on sending good energy to people I don't really care for and finding it challenging. But a good thing, nonetheless.
Cos, I agree about the ending. I thought it needed to be more WOW for a series premiere.
stuck on middle tw 4 8. darn. any clues?
it's stupid how many times i've tried stupid in this grid. evening all!
any clues for the an 7?????????
Better than me trying stup, 2Bit.
Oh, Molly, I'm so proud of you. I, too, have tried to "send" to a couple of people who have really hurt me. I find it very difficult. If we could find some way to let go of the hurt I think the "intent" would be a positive thing.
It's my ego getting in the way Peach. Once I find a way to let that go, it's as simple as sending positive energy to anyone.
I just don't know how, and I have really, really tried. I just don't get the feeling that I have when I am sending to anyone else. Oh, I just read your post. I agree with the ego possibility.
One thing that helps is imagining how awful it must be to be the kind of person who needs the energy. That evokes some compassion. On a humorous note, someone told me a while back that saying "Bless the bitch" was not um...the right vibration. : )
Going to let dogs out....brb
well that answers that question about that song. I've been wondering all these years
mkg, an7 is plural of an6... add 3.14.... to the middle of the an4
