in profile ty rb gran dart

1:35 am

thanx dee, just 20 to go here. with the list i'll fly through.

I thought this one was harder than yesterday

yqw! Thanks for all of your lists!

1:36 am

was strange...last 5 to find were all 7's...was dreading it but they came pretty fast

1:36 am

it certainly made you think harder

1:36 am

and the last was si 7....had the 9/10 combo..forgot the 7 the goes with lol

you did really well with the big words this time dart; you seemed to fly right through them

me, too

1:37 am

with the -ions ending....made a lot of big words today

depends upon the letter combinations for me... some flow quickly; some I feel blind

sure did

1:38 am

kept seeing derivations viscous decipher inherant

1:39 am

demerit

1:39 am

deviant

demerit for me, also

1:40 am

and the -ous was backwards....worked better if the o and u were switched

the v in the middle ... I made the grid harder than it was; although there were several odd words in this grid

1:40 am

menhir

1:42 am

ah well... going to bed with 15 left. thanks for all the listing, y'all!

1:42 am

ni4 justa

wtg yqw

well, I am off til the flip. Need to get some rest... it's been a tough week.

1:44 am

kinda got my wish tonite volley lol

which was?

1:44 am

night, dee, sleep well, hun.

1:44 am

in the email

ty gran hugs to you

I'll check my emails

1:45 am

your ra back this week?

ta til the morrow!!

yep and fibro... really sore... had 3 college girls stay with us last weekend; then 20 ladies here on Monday... I never seemed to catch up on rest

1:46 am

wow...you have been busy...maybe the extra hour will help do the trick

cold, damp, rainy... didn't help either

hope so

1:47 am

we hit 86 on friday..a record....was about 50 today

1:47 am

lol, i'm picking up so many fish words. dee, have been trying to reduce the strength of my pain meds. guess what has reared it's very ugly head?

the temp swings are nuts

your fibro, gran?

1:47 am

fm, apparently does not like it when i come off the strong pain meds. :(

reality sits in

1:48 am

seems like about 3 times now where i have had the ac on and then the same day had to turn on furnace...or the other way around

1:48 am

yup, dee. it would appear i am in sync with you. just let me know in advance when you are going to change something.

1:50 am

lol, like that here. have the fan on when we go to bed....then later i have to get up and turn the heating on. go figure!!!

LOL dart, I did the same thing 3 times last week... with all the sun coming in I had to turn the air back on... actually it's on now. This afternoon I turned on the gas fireplace in the kitchen just to get the chill off and just left the a/c on.

ditto that rose... I prefer a cooler house to a warm / hot one anyday

1:52 am

sunny days the south side of the upstairs gets so warm.....i usually come the the tv room in the lower level because it's more comfortable temp

1:52 am

to the

1:52 am

lol, dee. it's so frustrating. i can't seem to find a happy medium.

Dart, our houses must face the exact same direction because that is what has been happening here. I love the sunlight, so I'm not complaining, but it has been too warm for me.

Me, too, gran, and trying to get the right temp for sleeping has been murderous.

1:55 am

our front door and driveway face north....so the master bdrm and kitchen are south....if you tr5 to sleep till noon it wouldn't work...room gets too hot (not that I've tr5 that or anything )

1:55 am

don always knows when i have had a bad night. he wakes up with ALL the doona on his side of the bed.

Ditto here, which is why some of my naps have been cut short... way too warm.

1:57 am

what is a doona?

I took an icepack to bed last week; I accidentally lost track of it and it touched my hubby; he woke up pretty fast (really felt badly), but I couldn't help laughing.

1:57 am

a thick padded quilt filled with dacron/feathers

1:57 am

lol volley

1:58 am

lol, dee

2:00 am

ty for the list Dee. Your temp conversation makes me laugh! Our winter duvet goes on / comes off /goes on again - driving us mad!!!! Doona - australian for duvet or quilt!

2:00 am

thinkit be time to run around and change some clocks...ni4 you guys

Yqw, Liz. It is definitely a community effort, which I love.

2:04 am

yep, for a bit

2:05 am

2:06 am

2:07 am

a tr**el agent books your vacations, +two vowels and the pl. letter

2:07 am

ty rbud - it's so obvious when you know! I'd never have tried that!

2:07 am

it's on the tip of my tongue...if i stick it out, can you tell me what it says?

2:08 am

lol, g'rose, let me see... ;p

2:08 am

thanx rbud, found it

2:09 am

not a word thrown in4 conversation often

2:10 am

for which we are truly thankful. lol

2:10 am

You obviously never did a project on native americans!

2:11 am

hello everyone, late tonight, was watching Saving Private Ryan - old WWII movie, just ended at 1:am

2:13 am

2:14 am

I checked Dee's profile - very much appreciate her creating a list

2:14 am

4pm for me - no babble before going to the gym - grrrr!

2:14 am

ditto, we will have to wait all day before we can have this much fun.

2:15 am

Growling at changing clocks!!!!! lol!!!

2:16 am

I like that Lickety's will be back to being an hour after flip - at least I think that's how it will be. I like the first hour of actual babbling before the cheat sheet comes out, lol

2:16 am

Liz, you in WA?

2:16 am

2:17 am

Oh thats right, they don't have DLS

2:17 am

2:17 am

No - they say it fades the curtains! I really miss long, light evenings like I had in London! Not enough to move back though!

2:18 am

2:20 am

I spread it out over the day! Try not to use the list til I'm really stuck!

2:22 am

Rose - your liz / diz in same state comment makes me laugh - even though we're not. it would've been good if we were cos I just looked at diz's profile and we're the same age!!!

2:22 am

lol, such a great co-incidence

2:23 am

would've been better in the same state though!

Since we are dealing with Enable, as Roseanne Roseannadanna says ... it just goes to show you, it's always something--if it ain't one thing, it's another.

6:31 am

6:32 am

i am trying to figure out how america got to such a polarized point. this morning i saw a fb post that said, "anyone who is voting for obama is either ignorant, foolish, or covetous". was there ever a time when people in the US were more... willing to believe the other side could be good people who just think differently?

yes, not on barrier island or bay but close.

with what ive seen of the massive destruction over here, i suppose he was quite lucky

cant believe the story about the guy not wanting to be evacuated, saying thats why he built at the coast - to watch a decent storm...and he his house and hos wife were swept away...

8:07 am

Poor Annie. That is over a week with no power. I hope she was stocked up well.

8:07 am

I hope sontoo

8:07 am

*so too

8:08 am

Aside from all the creature comforts you have to do without, long power outages get to you psychologically.

8:09 am

I am hoping her daughter fared better and came into the city and took them back to CT

8:12 am

i see that enable is only taking the french it feels like taking again;(( travois

8:12 am

8:16 am

I have got to find a way to turn this au** correct off

8:16 am

She has been in my prayers, as have all of the people dealing with this tragedy

8:17 am

16 years ago today, God answered a prayer, and I opened a door to find the love of my life. 14 years ago today, we were married. I never knew marriage could be so great. A blessing shared is multiplied, and a trial shared is decrease, and we have been through much together. He still makes me laugh, and he still warms my heart.

8:17 am

Me too, smores

8:17 am

Hi angelsong

8:18 am

Happy Anniversary Angel!!

8:18 am

Time to start my day. (((Hugs))) to all of you.

8:32 am

oh man, me too! That would ground me like nothing else. How is today's grid?

8:32 am

no, never... please tell!

8:32 am

ok one sec while i type it out...

8:34 am

i was on a heavy date with my soon to be mrs and we had a nice dinner and were watching a movie as my roaming hands and rushing fingers tried to get me to second base, but to no avail.finally i decided on the direct approach and said"baby, how do you like your eggs in the morning?" and she shot right back without missing a beat "unfertilized" right then i knew i had to temp her with perfect breakfasts to convince her to stay over for the night

8:34 am

question: isn't 'avout' a word? As in an avout believer?

8:35 am

devout

8:35 am

OHHHHHH ROFLOL! Omg, she is the best! What a wonderful answer :)

i am just getting going as well but shall help you look for it gran

8:38 am

Thanks

8:38 am

also trying to help, but never good at biggies when I start

8:40 am

so8 starts like a word for royalty and ends with a word for stomping and yelling (think ...and rave) that ends in a sometimes vowel.

8:40 am

much better, thanks Molly. Was trying for souvenir etc.

8:41 am

ty

8:43 am

mm fair amount of chemicals in todays grid

8:43 am

just found a lovely ending that plurals as well :)

8:45 am

funny that the french word for all the works of an artist is not valid

8:53 am

enable is funny at times

8:54 am

I bet our ruby finds this a hard grid... she must be seeing lots of french words that are not valid.

8:54 am

i am sure it drives her round the bend

8:54 am

quite a challenge

8:55 am

just as we have to be on the watch for english vs american hehe

8:55 am

indeed :D

9:16 am

hiya car.ee :)

car!

ok ty x

9:16 am

Whoops! Must change icon!

9:17 am

what is over easy for an egg?

9:17 am

yvw sarah :)

volleymomdee has list up :)

9:18 am

OK. Thanksgiving is represented.

9:18 am

over easy is a term for a egg that is softly flipped for just a moment and served so as to be able to dip the toast in the yolk

9:18 am

beautiful, car.ee, and it fits so perfectly with the text next to it.

9:19 am

and now it is time for crossys tidbit of the day!!!

9:19 am

nice car

9:19 am

go for it, crossy

9:19 am

The timing, size, and stream of bubbles in a glass of champagne are influenced by dirt and "gas pockets" on the side of the glass.

9:20 am

Just like beer!

9:20 am

okay....

9:20 am

nice :D

9:20 am

hehe, mrs and i had a champagne bubble bath once years ago

9:26 am

woot, car.ee! Well done. *jealous*

9:26 am

ruru - what is the best champagne for bathing?

9:27 am

Dom Perignon

9:27 am

hi everyone, is there a list?

9:27 am

9:28 am

My auntie used to be the baby in a champagne glass in a vaudeville show.

9:28 am

lol

9:28 am

Erda lives in an UPSCALE neighborhood

9:28 am

Hi Dawg!

9:28 am

9:36 am

Hi Molly!

9:36 am

Hi Dawg!

9:36 am

Hi everyone!!!!!

9:36 am

yes car,the songs were very nice and as for the champagne bubble bath, just get 4 or 5 of the cheapest bubbliest magnums and one good bottle for drinking, the other stuff gets poured over your bodies anyways and you do not have to drink it

9:36 am

Hi Car, did the kids have fun trick or treating? I hope they grow into liking Halloween someday.

9:37 am

I would imagine it gets sticky crossy No?

9:37 am

Sounds wonderful Crossy!

9:37 am

ni 7/28 plz

9:37 am

We had a great time T&Ting last night! You guys ready for this....this shit only happens to me....

9:37 am

nope, not sticky, remember you have a half tub of hot bath water you are already sitting in to keep you warm as you cascade room temp bubbly over each other

9:39 am

lay it on us car

9:39 am

please tell, car.ee :)

9:39 am

The kids approach a house...the candy is set outside...they are taking from the bowl and the owner steps out from the other front door. He says hello, take candy, Happy Halloween...etc. He is carrying a plastic container. I say, "Is that empty or is there something in it?" His reply, as he pulls his hand out of his coat pocket, "It is empty, but I am taking my snake to my friends house" and he has the f-ing thing in his pocket! AAAAAAHHHHH! It is the DMV all over again!

9:39 am

hi ivesy, it ends like the other word for blood vessels, veins: ar*****s. Without the S.

9:40 am

nice and scary!

9:41 am

isn't halloween in October?

9:41 am

It was postponed due to the storm earlier this week, ruru.

9:41 am

ah

9:42 am

I told the kids after he left that they could go and take all his candy for scaring mommy like that.

9:42 am

lol car.ee!

9:42 am

What karma surrounds me that all the people that carry snakes around with them come into contact with me?

9:44 am

Snake is strong medicine in the native american tradition, car.ee :)

9:44 am

ty for the clue sprite!

9:44 am

And I am Iriquois...maybe the ancestors are trying to tell me something....

9:45 am

yeah .. that you should have been an herpetologist

9:45 am

Maybe I was Eve in a past life....

9:46 am

*oh that's a loaded one*

9:46 am

yvw ivesy :)

9:46 am

Just like a baked potato, ruru!

9:46 am

9:46 am

I would like help with the second C word please? I have the ci 4/5

9:47 am

Hate figs...love apples.

9:47 am

ci6

9:47 am

ripe

9:47 am

i havent' found it

9:47 am

If a snake totem has come into your life, your creative forces are awakening. "Your intuition will sharpen and be more accurate."

9:48 am

"It also signals a transition in your life. New opportunities and/or changes."

9:48 am

ci6...secret message

9:48 am

This is a lifelong thing though, Sprite. I will go somewhere and I will see a snake where there hasn't been one for years.

9:48 am

Ty ruru & Molly!

9:48 am

thanks molly

9:49 am

They turn up in very unusual places...like the DMV for instance.

9:49 am

DMV? what?

9:49 am

car.ee: http://tinyurl.com/cuxnav

9:49 am

Car, snake is probably one of your totem animals. Look that up for it's meaning for you.

9:50 am

my totem animal is a bunny

9:50 am

crossy,s totem is the wolf of course;)

9:50 am

especially when it is a lifelong thing, car.ee. Snake is very powerful medicine.

9:50 am

no doubt about that, crossy :)

9:50 am

Yes, ruru, I went to register my new car at the DMV and a guy walked in at the same time as us with a constrictor around his neck and he proceeded to carry it with him throughout the DMV the whole time I was there. I was terrified.

9:50 am

I changing with ruru.

9:50 am

That link Sprite posted is from my friend Lin's page. She's very good at interpreting totems.

9:51 am

But why is it so tormenting to me? Isn't it supposed to bring me positive energy?

9:51 am

hehe, was the snake to be marked down as an occasional driver?

9:51 am

ugh.. I don't like snakes either

9:52 am

no a constricted driver crossy :D

9:52 am

tormenting?? has one attacked you? or is it just you do not care for them?

9:52 am

hehe ruru

9:52 am

anaconda it had no arms

9:52 am

Not to get all metaphysical, but there is some block to it's energy that you are putting up.

9:53 am

OK...so the picture alone on the page made my feel sick. I read it, and it is everything that I am NOT.

9:54 am

And there is meaning in that.

9:54 am

car.ee: it might be that Snake represents something inside of you, that you are afraid of. If you can allow the idea of Snake to develop in you, you will open up power and energy in yourself that will enrich your life. But some kind of fear is blocking it.

9:54 am

I have always been terrified of them Crossy. Even when I was very young.

9:54 am

how does one determine his own totem?

9:54 am

i did not,my wife is into this and she saw my totem for me

9:54 am

Could it be that it is not my totem but the totem that is mine protects me from it? Maybe it is meant to hurt me?

9:54 am

wow, Molly, never knew she was a friend of yours. She is dead on with her descriptions.

9:55 am

Have her fix this for me, Crossy! I can't stand it! It is literally crippling in some ways.

9:55 am

totems aren't out to hurt, car.ee. They are messengers and guides.

9:55 am

I am getting in the car. I will be there tomorrow. What should I bring?

9:55 am

what sprite says

9:56 am

But this particular totem paralyzes me with fear.

9:56 am

many treatments for fear and phobias include "flooding" as a treatment car

9:57 am

I have tried to overcome it to some extent. Jeff Corwin, the guy from the Discovery Channel, Disney, etc. was in school with me. He would bring snakes in and I would touch them and try to get past it, but I just can't. I literally cannot breathe if I near them.

9:57 am

Greetings Babblers.

9:57 am

howdy scrabby:)

9:57 am

Hi Scrabs!

9:57 am

Is there a totem that would protect me...like an antithesis (sp?)

9:58 am

car: "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us." From 'A return to Love', sometimes attributed to Nelson Mandela.

9:58 am

hiya Scrabs :)

9:58 am

*reading chat log about totemphobia*

9:59 am

Car, how about making your OWN totem with features that are meaningful to you, that give you strength?

9:59 am

Perhaps I need to go on a vi 6/27 quest to address this.

9:59 am

car, which animal would make you feel safe and powerful and peaceful?

9:59 am

asking the mrs about this car...

9:59 am

Whatever one will make the snakes go away.

9:59 am

Where is Renny? Her name is in the grid.

10:00 am

I don't know. Does your friends website explain the different ones?

10:00 am

mrs says it may be someone else totem being sent to you...

10:00 am

Thank you Crossy.

10:00 am

someone who has passed on

10:00 am

WHAT? Are they trying to bother me or want to tell me something?

10:01 am

and it is not to harm but to inform

10:01 am

that is all she can say about it

10:01 am

without wanting to go all therapeutical on you... pushing Snake away will not bring you peace. Listening to the message of Snake and allowing it to touch you will work much better ;)

10:01 am

Car, unless you have had some traumatic experience with snakes, the fear is representative of something else in your life.

10:01 am

I was afraid of that. Ok. heading to the Long Island Medium first and then to Crossy's house and then to an Iriquois spiritual guide.

10:01 am

Tell her thank you from me. {Elegant}}

10:02 am

go for it, car :D

10:02 am

I know Sprite. I need to figure this out.

10:02 am

I work on an Iroquois Indian Reservation on Mondays, at a health ctr. Do you need some info?

10:02 am

will do car,it is someone trying to tell you something.no harm intended by the snake

10:03 am

*hugs car.ee* If you want to email with me about it, feel free!

10:03 am

yes, first nation peoples are much better at this

10:03 am

Many of the employees are Native Americans.

10:03 am

My great-grandmother on my Dad's side was a Iroquois "princess". Perhaps it is her.

10:03 am

I get it though.. I've always had an innate fear of snakes too

10:04 am

we can't use princess in the chat car.ee

10:04 am

Snakes give me the creeps but I would say that I am phobic.

10:04 am

Quote, unquote from King Ruru.

10:04 am

? Why not?

10:05 am

it upsets some people

10:17 am

*finding just one more word...*

10:17 am

Bye Scrabs! Have a WONDERFUL day! Babies can be so good for the soul!

10:17 am

And the other 10!!!!!

10:17 am

bye Scrabs, have a grand day

10:17 am

Clues please?

10:17 am

wtg car.ee :)

10:18 am

I was in a precarious si 9/60 ; plural for the 10

10:18 am

Yay Zoom! It's so nice to see you again. : )

10:18 am

Hah, it's amazing those words fit in the grid.

10:19 am

The ne 9/72 and 10/91 are more often seen with an in- before them...and are generally a neurological term.

10:19 am

always love it when biggies are normal words. Thanks car.

10:19 am

great clue, thanks again

10:19 am

Breakfast is ready! Back later! Have a wonderful day everyone! TY again for helping me with my totem! {{hugs}} to all!

10:19 am

TY--9s and 10s are out of the way now. Bye kiddoes.

10:24 am

..test...

10:29 am

cyberspace is eating my posts :) Well, I guess it is too late now to say *hugs* to car.ee and have a grand day.

10:38 am

tc ((sprite))

10:38 am

am not leaving, crossy, yet, but thanks :) Especially for the hugs.

10:42 am

ahh want you to stay for a while anyways:)

10:43 am

:D I will, until dinner is served here :D Still need lots of words.

10:43 am

as do i

10:44 am

love this grid, btw. Good words.

10:46 am

just the stats for the 10 and 9 please

10:46 am

<---Needs to live somewhere that dinner is "served"

10:46 am

ne9/72 and 10/91 si9/60 and 10/77

10:47 am

dinner is never served here unless i am the one doing it:((

10:47 am

hehehe :) Yeah I am blessed that way. My love cooks like a chef and is always willing to take care of us.

10:48 am

i actually enjoy cooking and the wifes visual limitations make it hard for her to cook anyways

10:49 am

we have a similar thing here, crossy. I cannot stand for more than a few minutes and we don't have a kitchen where one can cook sitting down.

10:49 am

I like cooking too and I'm very territorial about who I let cook in my kitchen. : )

10:50 am

I used to like cooking too. But now it is torture, so the fun is a bit lost. Sometimes my daughter and I make a cake or pie or something.

10:51 am

Torture?

10:51 am

yes. Severe pain and loss of control over legs.

10:51 am

sprite,i saw this aid for people with disabilities who like to cook.it is a comfy office type chair on rails!! the rails are narrow and are mounted on the floor of the kitchen about a foot away from your lower cupboards and it can be made to run the entire length of your counter

10:52 am

so you just scoot yourself along

10:52 am

sounds good! Will google for it... who knows. Pricey, probably, but who knows.

10:53 am

i am sure it is not cheap

10:53 am

and of course there are people who totally remodel kitchens for those in wheel chairs

10:54 am

good thing about the rails is that it leaves the kitcken usefull for all including the vertically challanged

10:54 am

yes. Not ready for wheelchair yet. Will stay on my feet for as long as I can. Have postponed the wheelchair for 14 years already!

10:54 am

yaa for sprite!!

10:55 am

vertically challenged, horizontally blessed... I read somewhere that that is the description of my figure ;)

10:55 am

hehe

10:56 am

oh and I still collect recipes. Totally love it. Some for my love, and some to try with my daughter.

10:57 am

did i give you my recipie for pulled pork?

10:57 am

most certainly not! What is that?

10:58 am

sprite.. you r situation sounds very similar to mine... i am blessed with a son who helps me and lets ( MAKES) me do as much as i am able.. i use my desk chiar on wheels.. (no aarms) to scoot around the kitchen and dining room . can stand for 1 or 2 mionutes only at at a time

10:58 am

ohh sprite..it is so delish..give me a min and i will type it out it is a slow cooker/dutch oven recipie

10:59 am

am sorry, smom, it is not a pleasant thing. But how wonderful you have such a great son :)

10:59 am

he carries the heavy stuff and fetches the high stuff

11:00 am

do you have a low kitchen or a very high chair?

11:00 am

Sorry Sprite. I didn't realize you had a disability. Is this something that happened since you traveled to Ruby's?

11:00 am

he is a chef........ he has been cooking full meals since he was 12... says i taught him well.. seems like i am his sous now..lol

11:01 am

no Molly, has been part of my life for 14 years now.

11:01 am

wonderful, smos :)

11:02 am

smom* I mean

11:06 am

crossy,s pulled pork for 6 one lean 2-3 pound pork roast(can substitue beef if desired) 3 medium apples, peeled and segmented one large sweet onion made into onion rings one jar of chilli sauce(heinz is best) 1/3 cup of honey and 1/3 cup of sweet onion or sweet honey mustard 1/2 can of tomato paste add cayanne pepper to taste lay onion rings in bottom of slow cooker or ductch oven.add roast mix honey, chilli sauce, mustard, cayanne pepper and tomato paste in bown and mix well and pour over roast. take peeled and segmented apples and add over top of roast. cover and simmer on low for 6-7 hours then take out roast and save back sauce.pull pork apart along the grain with 2 forks and place on toasted onion buns top with sauce and enjoy!

11:06 am

daughter's power has been restored......... they are packing up to go back home.... a mixed blessing

11:08 am

that sounds yummy! Love pulled pork, snagged your recipe!

11:08 am

wow crossy, that looks delicious! Copied and saved in my recipes folder. Am gonna suggest this to my love.

11:08 am

it is amazing! and it does all the hard work for you

11:09 am

I can imagine, smom. peace and quiet returned to your home... but missing your family as well.

11:09 am

11:11 am

Ssshhh, no one sent SMom to the PB for so4

11:12 am

we don't have a dutch cooker, but I think it would work fine in a Roemertopf with the oven at a low temperature.

11:12 am

ahhh, grandchildren, a parents reward for getting her own kids grown up and out of the house!!

11:12 am

:) Smom was lucky.

11:12 am

any kind of slow cooking thing will work sprite

11:12 am

i will go molly, and take my choklit with me

11:12 am

awww smom, how lovely.

11:13 am

and selena

11:13 am

am wondering, crossy... looks like I could do most of the preparation sitting at the table. I might do this myself and surprise my love when he comes home from work :D

11:14 am

great idea sprite!! it is a very easy prep

11:15 am

and you can use any type of bun toasted in the oven or a wide slot toaster

11:15 am

lol could have done this with ruby... when I was at her place, I sat at one side of the kitchen counter while she was cooking at the other side. Very cosy.

11:16 am

12:09 pm

12:09 pm

hehehe that is what I said to crossy earlier, ruby. That it would be a tough grid for you with all those french words that are not valid.

12:09 pm

would be ne**e

12:09 pm

especially if I haPpened to be iv4

12:10 pm

i said without the last letter rbud but ruby needed to know the whole word to lose the last letter :-)

12:10 pm

hi again all!

12:11 pm

Rbud, what is the word with the x?

is there a word that uses that X?

12:11 pm

hi all! back in for some more conundrums! will need to step out and walk the dogs soon, but for now...

12:11 pm

ne 9-10 sounds like a party for tiny body parts.

12:11 pm

silly me lol

12:12 pm

va7 is a variant sp to the way we spell it here - ;last vowel is usually an i

12:12 pm

I hear ya, glant - was just spelling it out. and maybe I didn't use the X after all, just thought I did - oops. I was thinking the va4 ended with it, but noooo, it didn't. but I have 54 more words, it may yet pop up.

12:12 pm

ah ok :) I had just decided that X was a total waste of space.

12:12 pm

<---Stops looking for x word

12:12 pm

haven't used the x yet sprite and have 72 left

12:12 pm

I think I need more coffee... sorry, all

See, sprite, you just got here and now are done

12:15 pm

isn't that what they call crossdressers?

12:16 pm

no, trannys are transgendered people, not the same as crossdressers

12:16 pm

I sometimes am cross when dressing in the morning

12:16 pm

I stand corrected!

12:16 pm

I thought a tranny was what made the wheelies go around.

12:16 pm

well, I thought of that definition, too, but thought I'd specify car trouble, lol

12:16 pm

me too, BR! :P

12:16 pm

i thought it was the little radio i used to put under my pillow when i was a teenager LOL

12:19 pm

transsexuals who also are transvestites need to make up their minds

12:19 pm

:-)

12:20 pm

<-- admits she pictured BR wearing a ruffled robe in the morning before reading closer, lol

12:20 pm

that would make a good icon pic!

12:21 pm

does not my current icon come close to that?

12:22 pm

it's a little too dark to make out the ruffles, BR

12:23 pm

those are great quotes, BR!

12:25 pm

Yes, although too, they make me wonder why

12:27 pm

good night everybody

12:27 pm

12:27 pm

Good night, Nel

12:38 pm

12:39 pm

12:40 pm

I am struggling at 111 left - anything seems easier than this

12:41 pm

No, it's me. I was never that much of a Scooby fan.

2:27 pm

i always associate it with creatures being shot at!

2:27 pm

wow, nan. you are much younger than I assumed.

2:27 pm

... most people don't actually admit to having watched Scooby Doo ... even if they are old enough

2:27 pm

I've never seen the critter spelled with an E.

2:28 pm

I loved it LOL when I was a young teenager

2:28 pm

oh, wait, you said after you were a kid... sorry, i'd have assumed you saw it at some point even if you were older than the target audience

2:28 pm

whatever the va critter is, I can't find it -- or don't know it -- or both

2:28 pm

I've never seen it spelled with an E before either

2:28 pm

whatever, dosef, I STILL watch it :)

2:28 pm

clue for the sp7/40 please?

2:28 pm

... oh I watched it .... I just don't admit to it

2:28 pm

oh -- got it -- needed a elmer fudd ref, or some such for that

2:29 pm

'course, you would never have guessed from my icon that I embrace a little silly in my life, right? :P

2:29 pm

2:30 pm

Nan said Scooby Doo came out long AFTER she was a kid.

2:30 pm

thanks, nan

2:31 pm

As usual, I am three beats behind the chat.

2:32 pm

I think it might have been on when my kids were little, but it wasn't something they watched

2:32 pm

sp6/34 - add an m to the end of the church tower

2:34 pm

2:34 pm

yay nan!

2:34 pm

woo hoo Nan

2:34 pm

Part of the reason this grid is boring me silly is words like those, Glant.

2:35 pm

And ia6. Seriously?

2:35 pm

sp7/32 - first 3 letters of the church tower + an angry shouting

2:35 pm

2:36 pm

♪And the painted ponies go up and down ♫

2:37 pm

2:37 pm

Enable makes me want to get slottered.

2:38 pm

ALT + 13 and ALT +14, but it doesn't work for everyone. Don't know why.

2:39 pm

You have to use the number pad, so laptops without a number pad are out.

2:42 pm

tr7 - french word for what the native american people pulled along - like a stretcher for injured people

2:42 pm

tr 7: triangular shaped sledge native people used to haul their belongings (behind the horse)

2:43 pm

ty all!

2:43 pm

See you all next time...

2:43 pm

Most of us common folk don't know that word by the definition. : )

2:43 pm

ok -- we just get a choice of US, Canadian French or Canadian multilingual

2:44 pm

first part of to make a journey + money without the n

2:45 pm

I m common folk too Molly :-)

2:45 pm

+c**n*

2:46 pm

But I thought people on your continent might be more familiar with the word than people on my continent :-)

2:46 pm

they were used by native americans as well, molly

2:46 pm

My keyboard only has the option for US English.

2:47 pm

Never heard of tr7 before this grid. And I do a lot of reading about Native Americans.

2:47 pm

I would think so too, Glan -- maybe it was a word associated with the Huron or Iroqois nations -- it does have a french base.

2:47 pm

Ts trashed!

2:48 pm

Thought they were used in the southwest though -- 3 poles tied together in triagular form with an animal skin stretched over the middle

2:48 pm

*triangular

2:49 pm

ra7/32 - is that a common word in north america? ra - wet weather + not in

neverheard it before

2:50 pm

It's a baseball word Glant.

2:50 pm

2:50 pm

I've never seen it as one word before

2:51 pm

Ah the subtle differences in language. Rainout, rain off. Take out food, take home food. Have a nap, take a nap.

2:51 pm

take away food LOL

2:52 pm

take out!!! --- what a great idea for supper tonight :)

2:52 pm

*Molly* you put yourself in the PB - good job I left you a glass of chilled chardonnay

3:16 pm

3:32 pm

Hello, smores.

3:36 pm

whew, been in and out, down to just 10 A's left.

3:40 pm

reading back ,the tr 7/40 is very common and still used! here our first nation peoples used it of course to move the village from the winter to summer grounds and the ridgepoles for the teepees were often used for this purpose

3:40 pm

and like i said earlier,in the bush they are still handy

3:42 pm

*tries to imagine crossy in the bush*

3:42 pm

wow, you know you've spent waaaay too much time on facebook when your mouse pointer almost automatically moves over to something in the chog, and you're thinking "gonna click 'like' on that"... :P

3:43 pm

used to do the moose hunt every year ruru

3:43 pm

*Ties fingers together*

3:43 pm

here ill help you pull the knot tighter..hehe

3:44 pm

3:46 pm

i know the cartoon remember it well

3:46 pm

3:47 pm

crossy loves pink panther

3:47 pm

OLD PP ..when he didnt talk

3:48 pm

yes,it was bad when they made him talk, just like when they made the coyote talk

3:48 pm

yeap..just wrong

3:50 pm

well.. seems I shut down the chog again... so wont interrupt again...toodles all

3:51 pm

I don't think I could shoot anything to kill it.. I understand that people do.. for food.. I just couldn't

3:52 pm

But I guess that once one's in the bush.. anything is possible.

3:53 pm

I'm rambling here.. but is that where bush-whacked came from?

3:54 pm

How's that rope doing Molly?

3:54 pm

Mmmmppppffff

3:56 pm

Canadians refer to the woods as the bush, which was the source of endless dirty jokes between my husband and I. I had no idea what the hell he was talking about when he first said "go into the bush".

3:57 pm

It sure brings up a lot of images..:D

3:58 pm

...I"ll shut up now...

Clues are up

4:21 pm

Thanks Lickety : )

4:21 pm

I did that the other day but will check

5:05 pm

5:07 pm

Hello, Lizlin.

5:12 pm

Sorry - it was Molly who said that

5:13 pm

Hi BR - hope all's well with you

5:16 pm

Thanks

greetings crazy peoples!

5:27 pm

Hi Gwen

and my silly phantom is thrip

hidee ho molly!

5:30 pm

bbl

5:31 pm

We had crab cakes for dinner. The house smells like a seafood joint. : )

mmmmmm

5:34 pm

I like the smell of seafood. Some people won't cook it because they say it "stinks up" their house.

yeah, so? lol

5:37 pm

evening all

5:37 pm

Hi Jes.

the reason i don't cook my own seafood is because i'm afraid i'll mess it up. i know how to cook chicken and noodles and that's good enough.

uh, oh, now i'm getting hungry

5:41 pm

Chicken and noodles to the rescue!

5:41 pm

mrs2bit says fish is the hardest to "get right" cooking at home

5:42 pm

bruce is working on mac and cheese for dinner here

i learned most of my cooking skills at girl scout camp, and we never cooked fish, as far as i recall. anyone remember pocket stew?

5:42 pm

It's also hard to get good fish around here, unless you go to those pricey water front places.

we have a local chicken joint that does very tasty tilapia, so i go there when i'm feelin' fishy

I leave the fish cooking to my hubby who grew up with seafood......i dont eat seafood

5:45 pm

I don't think I ever cooked pocket stew as a girl scout. Lots of other things in foil pouches though.

it's the foil pouch i remember, not the stew

not to mention cooking chicken in a coffee can (minus the coffee, of course)

I remember cooking on the little stove made out of a #10 can and heat source made from cardboard and wax in a tuna can!

5:48 pm

Hot dogs on a stick over the campfire. Now that's camp cookin'!

and the improve s'more, my own invention, lol

5:49 pm

Ah, it was you who mentioned the improved s'more. Somehow I got credit for that earlier, but I knew it wasn't me.

well there's no patent yet, so . . .

5:51 pm

Thank God. I wouldn't want to violate my parole.

6:00 pm

Hi all!

greetings UU sue!

6:01 pm

Hi Gwen!

43 to go here, and i'm getting stuck on "easy" ones 8-(

6:03 pm

Btw, Gwen, I have a question for you. These fake booksellers who list books they don't have for ridiculously large sums - why do they do it?

6:04 pm

Probably as a draw from people searching the internet.

well, they seem to make money at it, and no one is enforcing the law against them, and they don't care about being honest. hell, i don't know! LOL

6:05 pm

It just seems weird.

apparently there are thousands (at least) of vendors who are selling online and don't have inventory. it's not just books, it's every consumer good out there. the websites actually encourage it

for a while i kept hearing a radio ad that said, make money from your home, selling things you never have to see or buy! (or something like that)

6:07 pm

I must say it's a business model I don't understand at all.

well it sure cuts down on storage and overhead LOL

6:08 pm

That it would do.

6:09 pm

I deal with people who re-sell. They buy from my company and send it directly to the customer.

i keep all my books in my tiny apartment. i often have to toss the old ones when i get new ones. 6,000 books is a stretch

6:11 pm

*Imagines Gwen's apartment as a maze of books*

molly, if they have an agreement with you to do that, then it's not fraud. the vendors who burn my ass are the ones who find a listing for book, copy it on ebay (for example), sell it for jacked up price, collect them money, and then they buy mine and send it to customer

(yes, it's a maze. you can't come in unless you have insurance LOL)

6:13 pm

Sounds like my kind of place, Gwen :-)

6:13 pm

As far as I know, there is no fraud in re-selling. And people are dumb enough not to shop around and get a good price, so the re-sellers make their money.

but i loves books, so what the hey

the fraud is not in the reselling, it's in selling something you don't own and have no contract (or agreement, or arrangement) to get

some of the book "dealers" who do this list the entire catalog of books in print as their inventory. they have no inventory. many of the books they list are long out of print, but they don't care. they still list them and take the money. that's fraud.

6:16 pm

can someone clue the tr 7 please, it is my last word and i am crosseyed looking for it

6:16 pm

Well, I managed to get past half way in this one, not sure why it's been such a slog, but I am taking a break. Sorry you have to deal with these asshats, Gwen.

6:16 pm

re5/14 pls

6:17 pm

6:43 pm

Oh that's bad. And I can't imagine the owner calling for it.

How about Orange Julius Caesar? is that weird?

6:45 pm

I've met a couple pyewackets

7:20 pm

Hello, Minver

ty

7:20 pm

oh, bless you owl. i'm sure she appreciated it

she won't leave frezzing house - there have been some burglaries

7:21 pm

Just in case you do not know,Lickety's list is current.

ooh, ty min! *dashes off to get list*

7:22 pm

that really creeps me out that people would burglarize a home in all of this

7:24 pm

sad, really sad

well , she is old, i am not sure what to believe. the break in we know about was someone leaving tools in their car

7:24 pm

I mean .. how low can you possibly go

7:25 pm

they had break-ins in my town, but it was all unlocked cars... still, I left some clues to suggest that I was home, and my neighbors are watching my house

7:25 pm

well, she could be a bit paranoid.. it happens to some as they age. and these are scary times for us elderly women with no power

7:25 pm

I bet

7:25 pm

Cos, again. Your mother-in-law is an angel. I'm glad you guys have her in your lives.

and with no gas one cannot go anywhere anyway. som,e older folks don't react very quickly. on the bri9ght side the food store reopened today

7:26 pm

Hi Min. Love Ralph Macchio.

karate kid!

7:27 pm

who's ralph Macchio?

7:27 pm

hi min and yes, more stores open today, and lots of gas stations open with smaller lines than yesterday. think the odd/even rationing helped

nrk, you have fab neigbors and you are so close together

7:27 pm

Too bad he does not do too much acting anymore. My favorite Ralph Macchio movie is "My Cousin Vinny".

7:27 pm

Ralph Macchio can't be 51. He's still 16, isn't he?

and saw many tankers and big rigs on the way up

7:27 pm

oh.

7:27 pm

I loved that movie

7:27 pm

Read my profile and you'll see who he is 72 Temple Owl

7:28 pm

marissa Tomei was fabulous in that movie

yes, nrk, and you are still 25 :)

7:28 pm

"you blend!"

7:28 pm

I read that Macchio is more of a family guy than an actor these days.

7:29 pm

someone stole my NY times today from my driveway

yutes. two yutes. i have an uncle whose voice is just like joe pesce's

7:29 pm

...thugs...

7:29 pm

Marissa Tomei won an academy award for that movie.

she is a good actress. i liked it as well

7:30 pm

well.. she deserved it ..she was really great in that movie

7:31 pm

Did Meryl Streep win for the Hours?

7:32 pm

i just saw that movie again the other night and she was AMAZING in that movie

7:32 pm

Anything with Ed Harris in it. : P

7:33 pm

tr 7/40? and meryl was amazing in every movie except two that I know. bridges of madison county and heartburn (which I loved in book form, but meryl can't be nora ephron!!)

anything with denzel in it

7:33 pm

oh, did you see flight yet? phenomenal

7:33 pm

I even suffered through Kidman in that movie just to see Ed Harris.

7:34 pm

tr7/40...actor John ****olta + BOOM is a loud n***e

7:34 pm

ty

hahaha nolly. no not yet, doren.

7:35 pm

I'm with you on that molly Kidman couldn't act her way out of a bag

7:35 pm

owl, he definitely should get some tremendous awards for this one. i think even better than malcolm

7:35 pm

act? nicole kidman? is that what she is trying to do?

7:35 pm

he should have won the oscar for malcolm x.. that was the biggest joke on the oscars in decades.

i can't wait to see it then

7:36 pm

he was Malcolm X.. god .. he did a great job.

i have been a fan since St Elsewhere

7:43 pm

St. Elsewhere was a springboard for a lot of actors.

7:45 pm

oops. just did a core dump of my mother's family at my nephew through IM. At least he'll have it in writing. LOL

sure was. mark harmon. steven furst.alfre woodard. howie mandel

7:46 pm

Good evening everyone. I saw earlier where Lickety said the clues were up..but I still do not have them. Does anyone else have them??

7:47 pm

What an odd name for something like that.

7:47 pm

*ties hands to not type*

7:49 pm

ah, yes, aussie date correct, date for the rest of is is wrong.

yes i suppose it is but it generally has its date this side of intl date line

7:49 pm

My clues show 176 and Nov 1

7:49 pm

but that is today's grid :)

7:50 pm

It's only when Lickety posts late that the dates conflict. When he does it at the flip, we are all in the same day.

7:50 pm

7:56 pm

ty

7:58 pm

oddly, that was my first word this grid.

7:59 pm

i like to try to make my first word a naughty word, but i haven't spotted any

7:59 pm

*Still thinking about core dump jokes*

7:59 pm

lol

8:00 pm

Johnny appleseed going to the bathroom molly?

8:00 pm

Sue, my daughter-in-law has Crohn's, has had it for years. She's had several successful surgeries. And not all roads from Crohn's lead to a colostomy bag.

9:01 pm

Congratulations dan2bit on your fireworks! Good for U!

9:02 pm

I know, Molly, and am trying to reassure him. He's just scared. Thanks for the info, though, that is helpful.

9:02 pm

Hello herinfernallady! How are you? Welcome to the grid

Thank you for yuour welcome

9:02 pm

Hi herin!

9:03 pm

Frank needs to keep in mind that the doctors have to tell you what could go wrong even if it is not very likely to happen. Attitude is huge

9:03 pm

Hey all

So apparently there is this big horse race on tomorrow that people watch and gamble with I don't

sue. i know severl with the disease who do not have colostomies

9:04 pm

I agree Bugs, attitude is important. So is not listening to the doom and gloomers. Some people just live in the negative.

9:04 pm

Hello, IndiaJan

I have a friend that has Crohns he is bag free but has to be super careful what he eats

9:06 pm

This is just him, the doctors haven't said anything yet. I am trying to keep him from sliding into depression but it is hard before we really know the extent of his disease.

9:06 pm

And hi, India!

9:06 pm

The only people I know who had to have a bag had a cancer in the bowel and some of them have been reconnected. It is not doom, just the unknown is scary.

HI Jess

9:35 pm

Jes, is getting hurt by an animal you are attending to a frequent occurrence?

9:35 pm

Malwa is a Polish tea company I use that for the raspberry tea. It is called Malina tea

Can dogs get lyme disease just from eating deer feces

9:46 pm

heh. i have been called tenacious :) but really, if it comes to a physical fight with an animal, you've already lost, even if you win. So I am not prone to trying to out-muscle my patients.

9:46 pm

NBT

9:46 pm

no, lyme disease is caused by a bacteria that is transmitted by ticks. it cannot be spread orally or by direct contact.

9:47 pm

though a dog that frequents areas where deer have been defecating is likely in an area to encounter ticks.

9:47 pm

yay cos!

9:48 pm

ni7/28 please?

9:48 pm

Okay, thanks. My dog had it and thought he got if from eating deer feces. I asked my vet & he said no as well.
