that is a good idea. We are deep into autumn, near winter now... so winter greens are in season. But we can always get fresh salad, cucumber etc.
lightly steamed green beans - with garlic of course - we have cold and throw in tomatos etc
I think it is nice to crunch on some salad especially if the rest of the meal is heavy. And one less hot dish to fuss over

true, true, I see the connection now - thing is, I've always had a thing for trains - Dad retired from the Rock Island Line after a long career as a brakeman and then a conductor, and I ran a local taxi service for years out of an Amtrak station and served as "station mistress" - have always lived right by some tracks it seems, too
there's a train out there right now idling, not more than 50 yards from the house.
Lived for a time close to a roundhouse. Than, no trains no more.

I still do their big fat stockings with goodies and buy them some clothes, etc., but leave the big stuff to them to get for themselves.
not exactly the way it ought to go, but oh, well.
We still believe in Santa here, so they get one "big" gift and a stocking from Santa and then a few other things, clothes, etc. from Mom and Dad.

I thought that was a pretty common occurence _ criticism of Fox
one of the 1 star reviews: Tom Ricks was interviewed this morning on Fox News and I would say his objectivity is seriously in question. The interviewer was Jon Scott who graciously plugged Ricks latest book The Generals with kind words. Soon, however, Ricks was denouncing Fox as an arm of the Republican party for having given too much coverage to the Benghazi attack. Ricks explained that .... paraphrasing ... "this sort of thing happens all the time." Now, even I know that Al Qaeda affiliated militias don't attack consulates and kill ambassadors "all the time." I just don't know if I trust this guy's judgement enough to think he can second guess generals.

listen to me prattle on about stuff in here nrkii and i will have you yawning in no time
I've checked a few forums online, and it happens to a lot of people I guess, but there is no clear diagnosis... anxiety, dehydration, anemia, GERD, gas, allergies, misalignment, etc, etc, etc
of course being tired does not always demand a yawn and being wide awake does not always mean no yawning,everyone is different i am sure
yawning is a response to lack of oxygen, but I have plenty
there are breathing exercises that help a little, and I'm drinking lots of water which also seems to help
so I've been somewhat better the last two days

Why do we yawn? Dr. Barry Make, a pulmonologist at National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, says the answer is not because we are tired or bored — although that’s the common perception. It’s widely assumed that yawning occurs because we are tired or bored or because we see someone else doing it, but there isn’t any hard evidence to support these beliefs.
