yqw
what are the stats for the other lone e?
there's an es9 that wasn't allowed despite it being from the same language as the accepted es9, which I found by doing the math after I looked up the point count. The unaccepted word is a title of some piano pieces by a late 19th, early 20th c composer.
Here are some E's: ec4 eq6, 7 er5 et5
ruru, I await your bad joke about the other lone e...

hi everyone, late start tonight, have been skyping the kids
Hi Flosey :)
hi flosey; sounds like fun
was, William was still up so had a chat with him
I love 'skyping' with the g/kids. youngest g/son (5yrs) refuses to talk to me on the phone cos he can't see me....LOL
great, isn't it diz
lol, diz; so cute! Love technology!
yep Flos and Dee
hi flosey -- my family doesn't have skype :-(
ah, I wish my brother would get a computer!!!
but my grandkids aren't kids any more.
when we get together on the phone, calls can run to an hour or two
lucky you, flosey -- I get one-sentence emails from son if I'm lucky, and rarely -- ditto from grandson, a bit more fram granddaughter but very rarely indeed, hardly anything from d-i-l, only in response to things I send.
Aw Jilli - you need to persuade all of your family to install skype - it's so easy and I love using it to catch up with family and friends in the UK.
wow, yes, that would be great for you Liz
it is Flosey :)
liz, they're not interested -- all too busy with their own lives. I see them in person once or twice a year for a day or two.
That's tough on you :(
Jili - just wanted to saythat I know EXACTLY how you feel.
I so follow them on Facebook, anyway.
Thanks you, Sue.
Jilli - facebook stalker!!! LOL!!!
But granddaughter's live-in partner refused to be a FB friend
His loss!
what on earth is the aq8???
Carries water, Jili.
ah, got it, thanks jilli
Liz -- he has "friended" everyone else in the family!
carries water, jilli
Plain rude then!
snap.... hadn't seen your clue , Sue
hi diane
got what, flosey? the aq8 I can't see inspite of the water carrier clue? I would like to see it start with aqua bu there's only one A
hi flosey, jilli, Liz, Sue and everyone else
just change that last vowel and add a type of tape
Hi diane :)
Hi Diane!
jilli - aq 8 - often a high arched bridge carrying water
flosey, I'm more than a bit thick tonight after a night at Calvin's
think the type of tape men use to repair almost anything
I'm not often here at night, but we are "snowbirding" in Arizona and they don't observe daylight savings time.... so Babble starts at 10 pm for now.
ah, ty liz, you penetrated my thickness!
yw
Back home to Alberta next week, so game will again flip at 11:00 for me.
hello everyone. sorry I am late
hi diane -- babble starts at 10 pm here on the west coast (pdt)
hi bugsy
I think flipping at 3 or 4 pm is the most sociable!!!!
Hi Bugs :)
I loved that magic thing Jilli
you're allowed to be late, bugs -- I was too
hi Bugsaw :-)
hello Lizlin and all others down under
Liz, you mean NSW time, I think?
Queensland time for me!
the magic thing, peeps:
hi Diane. I didn't know you were a snow bird. lucky lady
We don't change our clocks, so in your winter flip's at 4 pm but now it's at 3 pm.
Speaking of "down under".... my hubby just finished watching 8 seasons of Macleod's Daughters on Netflix.... ( marathon style ) I'm almost speaking like an Aussie !!
Good on yer!
I'd love to stay on DST all year
flip is at 4pm in NSW, but will change to 3pm on the w/end when daylight saving ends
me too flosey. I don't take the changes well
Be good to be back on the same time as you Diz!!
magig link here: http://tinyurl.com/d8jz5yn -- see if you can figure it out!
Bugsaw... our son built a home here in Casa Grande 7 years ago and we get to enjoy it for 3 months of the year. Hubby would stay longer, but I get too homesick.
flosey I'm absolutely in agreement about staying on dst all year!
LOL Liz
I have no idea how that works Jilli. I have watched it a few times and the numbers are always the same but..... they are not
I wish we did have DST - the latest it ever gets dark here is about 7 pm. I miss the long, light summer evenings of London!
I think my kids would choke if I moved in for 3 months. I am sure I would
Some of you were speaking of Skype earlier...I received an iPad for Christmas and love facetiming with my wee great granddaughter .
find it tough. sorry about the split
Facetime is great!
Liz, move down to NSW...in DS time sometimes its still light around 8:30 pm
Oh, our son is not here when we are.... he's not retired yet ( still a few more years to go with Telus )
lol, Diz - I do love it here!
I hope you all will try the link I gave to the magic thing -- it's a real mind-bender!
oh I see Diane. Sort of like a time share then but all in the family. Even nicer
I hope they bookmark it for later too Jill.
Liz, where abouts in Qld...general area?
Lucky you, Diane. I'd love an escape to the sun from our dark winters
I am getting sleepy again so I must wish you all well. I do not play as regularly as I used to but I still enjoy the challenge and the chat. Happy Babbling !
I must get to bed.... thanks for the visit and have fun with the game. Good night, all :-)
Sorry to be ignorant -- is Qld in a different time zone from NSW?
diane -- cjeck out that link I gave!
Only in our summer, Jilli. Because NSW has daylight saving and Queensland doesn't.
yes Jilli, only cos they don't have DLS, but during winter months we are the same
r
Fun link Jilli - haven't worked it out.
epeating the link to the "magic" puzzle _ http://tinyurl.com/d8jz5yn
Ah, like Saskatchewan here, which stays on Standard Time all year
yep, Jilli
I have an answer to your puzzle! But I hate to spoil magic!
am 6 /24 am 7/40
wow, liz! email it to me (address at the bottom of my profile)
Are you sure??????
It will possibly take the magic out if you accept the rationale!
Absolutely sure, liz -- I havea friend who loves to prick such balloons and Ièd like to beoneup on him *big grin*
just found my last A..ap 6/27
well done, diz
my keyboard has gone wonky again -- must shut down and restart, dammit
just watched the puzzle that Jilli put up.....got me befuzzled...lol
Hotmail's down at the moment, Jilli. I'll send it when I can.
Oh dammit -- just checked my email and I just KNEW it -- that smug "friend" said "Solid variation on an old Sam Lloyd puzzle called "Get off the Earth" http://www.samloyd.com/play-va\nnishing-puzzles/play-getoff.html :-)
(which is just as baffling imho)
I've sent you what my hubby said, using my old e mail addy as I still can't get into hotmail!
BBL
I still have two blank Es -- the one in the second column and the lower one on the right. I think the latter must be es9 and the former an er -- ??? Any help available please?
hello jillibus--you here all alone
repeats
I guess so, puglet -- and I'm about to head for bed after checking email
but thanks for that great clue!
well pleasent dreams then
flosey must have fallen asleep over the keyboard, and I don't know where dee went. Liz said bbl, and now I'll say goodnight and good luck, and I hope someone shows up!...*poof

captain queeg
thank you nono, for validating me as an adult there....yikes

good early afternoon!
No trif, it's es9/30 - never heard of it before
ty chrissie....
welcome ruby!
cool if its not a circle its a sq**** work from there on lady's clue
what a morning! DH had a tooth extracted and the tech guys came for fixing the new fridge. Anything else?
Hi ruby
hi ruby
and the day is only half over.... lol
hello, my friends. It is so nice to come in here and find such friendly "faces"
what was wrong with the new fridge ruby?
ty got it
im impressed you HAVE someone to come fix a fridge, ruby....someone to fix ANYthing is rare these days!
I took a floor model and when I got it home, realize that the handle was loose and the egg thingie was missing.
I paid for a guarantee, so I wasn't worried, but there's been too much on my plate of late
nbt - whew!
ah just minor then, that's good
wtg trif
and when repairmen come, there is always the question of secureing the pups
ooh! nbs too! go me!
woohooo trif
you guys are impressive, I have one word so far
i have found a lot of repair guys LOVE dogs, and its always a good point of conversation and ice breaking....
if they're not terrified lol
who could be afraid of your sweet pups!
and with one being just a pup too ruby
any clues for the first pe6?
mind you....I guess if you are in and out of houses all day, you might meet a few nutter dogs here and there
Ruffino is gorgeous, but scary-looking if you don't know chows
Rufie is teaching the puppy to be a guard dog, too, which is funny because she's so small
Rafie is a hoot; she licks anything within reach, including the technician and his tools
like what you use to make jelly, angel, but change the last vowel
clue for es 9 please? have to rush out this morning and that would give me nbt and nbs. :-)
ty for the pe, nan
aarrrghhhh - secondo has a bunch of pics that need to go in to a exhibit at school....RIGHT before she left this morning, I made a POINT of reminding her to take them with her...just got a text: "MOM, I forgot the pictures...."
ty, nan
Mom to yhe rescue lol
that's what moms are for.....
yes, yet again. and as many times as I rescue her, that is as many times as she will forget....sigh.
thats the funny thing about primo being out of the house now....I wonder who resuces him? could it be that he has actually learned to do for himself? shocker!
how old is primo?
hes 20 now (gasp)
you must have been a child bride!
gosh, that makes me realize how long I have been babbling....he was still in school when I started :)
2nd year at school now trif?
just about to finish, yes, nono
well done you!
what would I ever have done without my babblers? You all saw me through some dark, dark days.....
does he still have the online site with all his drawings? he is quite talented
good morning my babbl;e friends:))
good morning crossy!
hi crossy
{{crossy}}
mm,my mad typin skillz are in fine form today:)
not sure nono....to be sure, he is drawing less and less now, since he switched into industrial design. his things tend to be three dimensional now - for example, his last project was to redesign a coupler for an electric car.
it has been mutual trif, we have all needed assistance at times for one thing or another
while that did involve some drawing, it was design oriented, and thus not quite as illustrative as before
it sounds like primo is staying ahead of the wave!
ah ok, sounds interesting
thanks nono - the chog is a truly marvelous community of fine, fine people. I feel blessed to have any part in it
industrial design is noble and much more lucrative than being a painter
this group has gotten me through soe tough bits and I am truly grateful, every day
it is interesting! his target audience was women between the ages of something and something, so he had me bring the girls up to his school, and he had us try out several of the models he was considering, to see how they fit our hands, which felt more intuitive to use, etc.
amen ruby, amen
the chog in babble is rare and as far as i can tell unique:))
he still does his own stuff on the side, of course. He just did his first album cover for a client, which led to him getting another one...he gets PAID for those, so that's a big plus
and it's consistently supportive and nice, with only the occasional snpes
and the odd troll during school vacation weeks, lol
I think we just turn off the trolls, it's the ifighting which occasionally gets nasty
I am so glad I have this quiet morning to myself....drs appt at 10, so no students until the afternoon. ahhhhh
Hi all :)
of course there are a million things I SHOULD be doing, but I haven't had a good babble in AGES
those seem to be few and far between unless it's my timing lately
morning lizlin
hi liz
{{lizlin}}
one of the best thing about the chog is it is so forgiving....take me - I have not really been around for months, since my laptop died, but you all welcomed me right back. lovely, that
all my favorite ladies here today:))
I've been here less than 9 months but everyone is so friendly.
you are never gone from our collective heart, trif!
thanks ruby. Do love - LOVE - having laptop back, I must admit
What's nice is how people notice if you're not there.
woke up the girls, banana muffins in the oven, got about 10min :)
Hi smores :)
hello smores! your house is about to smell AMAZING
there are lots of babblers I miss very much, and think of often....
mmmmm those muffins sound deligtful
:)
((smores}}
i still see monkeygames in wwf but never here anymore
or not wwf,but just on my wall in fb
{{ ruby }}
excellent example, crossy! we are friends on FB, and she posts a lot every day, but never in here
she is always busy in fb typing about her son:))
tragicstud is another one I miss, montreal, and the lovely lady that was in the military in spain, and then got transferred....can't remember her chog handle at the moment, but you know who I mean
if you put a CF disc directly into your coputer on what do you have to have it set first?
CF card? I am such a computer dummie
what is a cf disk?
Glad you asked that?
and i build computers lol
up till 4 years ago anyways
herin is one of my favorite people on EARTH, and I only know her because we babble....
sprite too.
now hands too numb for the delicate work
been a bit since i have seen our aussie lass
and of course, my beloved Torgone....oh, I could do this all day. Suffice it to say that I adore my babble family....with one or two exceptions, of course - ha!
sprite is my book buddy:))
and we all miss FM!!!!
((fmitch)
((((FM)))))
so hey - heres' a bit of news, speaking of how old primo has gotten.....he's setting up house with his lovely love in the fall. GULP
et7/32 is the Fr word for cheesecloth; I just tried it for fun
mm..get ready for some grandbabbies ,trif!
oh heck no, crossy! not just yet.....
clue ruby?
but he DID ask me about my old engagement ring :)
for "someday"
ty ruby and thanks to larousse!!!
thanks ruby :)
ty for et7 ruby
om Trif, time goes by so swiftly, there will be a wedding and grandbabies before you know it
es9 is french also...small cafe or pub
ruby, what is the french phrase for when someone snores?
time to check the muffins
we did the same back in the day, trif,we initially used my beloveds grandmother old engadement ring
not sure those two are so in to the marriage thing, but we will see
the verb is "ronfler"
she is a LOVELY person, and if he chose her, all would be approved
thanks ruby! could NOT remember it the other day....
my wifes phrase for when someone snores is" roll over you dummy before you swallow your tongue!!"
looking for that es....
oh hey! can't believe I didn't think to tell you guys this.....we had a really nice man come in to our center the other day. Neat, clean, not at all a person you would ever cast dispersion on, or think "less" of....anyway...turns out, he is 59 years old, and never learned to read! said he couldn't live with it anymore, and begged us to help
I think he is just about the bravest man I have ever met
oh,trif, that is a golden oportunity.if you can get him to the point where it "clicks",that is magical
that is a nice story, trif,; our old housekeeper taught her husband to read when he was in his 50's; he was very talented, but had never been to school
he will take off like wildfire
aweeee so glad he reached out for the help trif, it must have been hard for him
he grew up in a cheese-making family in this valley
he is so funny....I did the initial battery of testing on him. He wasn't kidding - he really CAN'T read....but he did spend at least half of the four hour test period asking me things like "so, are you a single gal?"
just cracked me up
hat is sweet!
that*
lol sounds like a really nice man
say sure, and hand him a detailed convoluted set of directions to a coffee place and when he can read them, you will have coffee with him
he was made to repeat 1, 2, and 3 grade, then the school told his parents he was a lazy idiot and just shoved him through until 10th grade, when they sat him down, told him they were down with him, to go learn a trade, and then the booted him out. Can you imagine?
will be an incentive to learnb
hahaha! nice crossy! but no thanks
im spoken for
1st pr6?
or even any pr6
the first one I have is a pr6 27 - is that the right one?
if it comes with all the pieces in the right size it is pr6

thanks everyone - they were such a wonderful couple...full of fun and love
ruby, how are you? how is your dh? I have been thinking about you a lot the last few days.
Hi stid!
Hi to those who've recently joined the chog :)
how is the rebuild going Stid
morning, stid
Ruby - how is the new baby
the new baby is adorable and extremely friendly, not like all the other chows. She is so small, though, compared to Mr. Buster Ruffino
Delicate girl!!!
you need to send me a picture
Me too!
haven't started tear-down yet, River, but the people from the company (pretty sure we know the defective product that started the fire) were out at the house yesterday and I think/hope they are done now and we will be able to do tear-down in a week or two. Thanks for asking.
I asked earlier, does anybody know how to insert the CF card diretly into the computer? Do you have to find a speial setting first?
Congrats on the addition to your family, Ruby, I hadn't heard!
where are you staying in the meantime, stid?
stid, you can come and stay here!
you never did expand on your computer disc problem, ruby. is it a dvd rom with a video you wish to play? a cd rom is it a dvd or cd/rw you wish to record on,is is a disc of audio files you wish to play back? do you wish to burn a video or music??
it is time consuming stid when you have a possible action against another company
Stid, I am so sorry for all that has happened to you and your family.
Our insurance company has put us up in a very nice apartment close to where Grant goes to high school. Furniture was delivered yesterday, today I get to clean our friend's house where we were staying...
Ruby, I would be there in a hummingbird's heartbeat if I could. Would SO love to visit your part of the world!
apartment sounds nice...at least it's a place where you can breathe a bit, while you gear up to start again.
its the CF card with the photos that lives in my SLR camera. I have no idea what to do.
its the CF card with the photos that lives in my SLR camera. I have no idea what to do.
thanks for the help today. fireworks.
Nothing happens when I insert it into the computer
huzzah for angel!
wish i was over there, would have her computer all organized and tuned up
Thanks, Mom -- we are going to be okay. I think it is a good lesson for our children to see that great loss doesn't mean we have to completely fall apart.
congrats Angelsong
Congrats Angel :)
YAY angelsong!!!!
ok,ruby,is it a video disk or audio?
that was quick Angel
Hello my lovelies. I am about to sleep but I couldn't resist a massive hug for those that I miss dearly. Mainly due to time dofference.
is it just the little card thing, ruby? you might need a reader for it
howdy herin
((Herin))
((Herin)) how are you? I have missed seeing you
herin!!!! was just talking about you!!!
Hi herin - long time no see
ruby, my last camera wouldn't "read" the little SD card in my computer, but I could hook up with a USB cable and download everything.
hi Herin
night herein
you were just mentioned, herin, as somebody we all miss!
hey lady! {{{{{MASSIVE HUGS}}}}}
i thought we were talking discs, not many of the newer computers use the old 3x3 cards..unless she is talking about a sd or micro sd card
this is the tiny thing in which the photos are stored
I would like to get them into my computer
See this is what happens when I am Summoned :)
if you are talking about sd or micro sd cards with info on it,go to start/my computer and it will show up as a hard drive being displayed with it own letter
sounds like the memory card in your camera
that is an sd card,ruby
OK, I will try tht after my naps
Stid. Our house has been thinking of you and yours.
sd and micro sd,s just appear as a new hard drive to your computer
aq?
yes, river, that's it. I know zip about the terminology, a great embarrassment to my son
there are a bunch of different photo cards. some machines you just stick them in and there's no special set up.
I have to head out -- decided that when I woke up too early today I was going to get myself going and greet the dawn from my house.
aq8, water road
thanks lady -- I can feel all the love around me.

hi back atch! and you're very welcome--I just monkeyed it after you asked-had to share
**atchya*
Good Morning Everyone. How are you on this sunny cool day?
chilly!
how are you?
LOL! Not chilly, just cool.
I needed a light hat for my walk today, but loved the sun
In Tennessee we're used to low 70's at this time of the year not 50;s!
it's supposedly 46 (F) right now; but I was out and there's still enough wind to cause it to feel much cooled than that today.
Here in CT we're used to close to 60, but it's been in the 40's
cooler, that is.
Hello everyone from clear and calm Brooklyn
don't brag-being chilled makes me cranky! HA!
I'm not sure I'd enjoy that high of a temp in April, scribe, but I do like the 50s (which is where we should be now)
Hi Annie! How are you today?
my Minn friend (in 80;s) never took out her heavy coat while we Southerners were freezing!
in the 80's-she's not 80!
she's now back in Egan & loving it!
hi Nef, doing okay, and you and your hubby?
LOL! My neighbor next door is sitting outside, smoking a cigarette, wearing shorts and a stocking hat and enjoying the sun! (I think he's in his early 70's, BTW)
Still not getting the pe7/8
As a Southerner--I get the vapors when it not very warm!
Typical Minnesotan, scribe.
And both DH and I are fine, Annie. I hope you and your son avoided any colds or flu this winter?
Nef, No colds or flus, just superstorm Sandy
So true, Nef-we tease each other about out blood being either thin or thick-
did you have much damage, Annie? (I hope it didn't affect you too much)
for the pe7/8--think of something being the ex****ion to a rule but change the ex to pe + a consonant
No damage to my apartment (I live on the 23rd floor) but my car was floating in the parking lot. What a sight to see.
I have a friend in Nashville who's hubby hates the cold. They would never come up here even in the summer. But he turns the A/C up til it's in the 60's inside their house from April til Novemeber. She wears long sleeves and sweaters year round, thanks to him.
He would hate here too.. cold and the wind is fierce.
If you hate cold weather, why have the A/C at such an ungodly setting? I don't get it.
Bless you scribe! Finally .....
sorry the first clues didn't grab you-
Oh, Annie! I can't imagine that at all!
But the summers are glorious, we always have a breeze coming off the ocean
that pe 7/8 is very odd; I've never heard or seen it before.
I haven't seen it withut the ion-but enable has its own ideas!
our summers are quite glorious too, Annie. Do you have a window that opens or a deck that you can enjoy the breezes that high up?
Yes, we have a large balcony that faces the city and we get the breeze off the ocean. The summer makes up for the harsh winter winds.
I've never seen it without the -ion ending either, scribe
that sounds wonderful, Annie! :-)
I need to go off again, I have an appt. in 1/2 hour so better move it now. BBL. Happy Babbling!
bye Nef, have a wonderful day
sorry i dindt underst and nf's pe clue can someone help p-lease?
hi fan, neither did I, still pondering
C's crushed
i have es 9 what are the other two please?
pr9, st9
is the st 9 an extension of another st word?
yes, it is
it's the extension of an ocean going vessel
extension of st 5/12?
st 7/32. make it past tense
got it thanks is that a word?lol
In Enable it is
pr 9 is an extension of another word i assume as well?
yes, PT of prior
word
sorry, had a phone call, yes, it is the ext. of pr 7/40
i have the lst on another page hence why i am asking for this kind of help. I have one pr 7/40 and its not extending
pr = prefix for before + glass half full or half ****y
Molly's clue which was excellent: The show was pr 9 because the President was going to give a speech
i got it!
Hi babblers:)
Hi Chrissie :)
annie you are right perfect cue

hello everybody
(((ruby))) How is Rafella?
hey ruby, whats happenin'?
((annie)) {{bichon}}
The stove repairman is here
i have qu 4/8 and qu 5/16 what is the third one please?
Rafaella is amazing! She seems to be totally housebroken, eats everything in sight, is very affectionate with EVERYBODY, and has greatly improved both Rufie and husbands moods
Great news ruby.
i only have 132 words left now:)
Ruby, that's great, very happy for you
I am as tired as a new mother, though....1
My Polo is on strict rest for a week. He's done something to a leg. No jumping up on furniture, running down stairs or taking long walkies. He' miserable
((chrissie))
He had to sleep in a crate last night
back leg or front?
that must be terrible for him and for you!
back. It could be his hip. If he doesn't get better in a week, he has to have an x-ray
qu6/27, MLFAN17
He can sit in my lap on the couch, but I have to hold on tight
Poor Polo
shang can you clue it please?
poor thing!
i'm not sure how to, it's a tough one..
He likes being held in our lap, but he hates not sleeping with us
that must be so cute, two bichons in your bed! I can't imagine it with these big muddy chows....
Raffie wants to be picked up, but it makes Rufie jealous, so I can't
That's why we have small dogs.
for sure
qu 6: if it's not a circle, it's a sq****, take away the s and add a vowel within the word
Rufie is teaching her to be a guard dog which is hilarious since she only has a tiny "oof"
I am very happy for you ruby with your new puppy.
hi all
thank you, peri
damn i actually got it ty shanghi
:)
but what is the 3rd q? I have the 4 and the 6 but what am I missing|?

ty, MLF
hello all - back for 41
hello ursh
yw ruby
Is Rufie being nice to Rafi?
they wrestle a lot which is kind of scary, but she doesn't yelp, so I guess he isn't hurting her
and he shares his toys and his food

their should be lol
i will be back
hmm, looking for that ne4/5
got it, ty ursh
bbl, going to do some painting or collage or both
bye peri
glad to see the dogs have warmed up to each other
mine will occasionally play fight and it is scaring. But, it usually stops as fast as it starts
but they'll never be like M and P!
no Ruby but in 3 or 4 years time they will have become just like themselves
the wrestling only scares me because Rufie weighs about 70 lbs and she's tiny
I saw my neighbor when I was out with marco this AM. She saw me and shouted "What happened"? She thought Polo met some terrible fate
poor Polo; he must be miserable
He doesn't really seem all that miserable, but he doesn't like being left behind.
just monkeyed the 3rd 9 -- how can that be a word?
bbl
bichon like those names for a pair of dogs - had a friend with two cats named "get off the carpet" and "you too"
hahah
they became you and too - silly names
U2
may I have a hint for the 2nd column e? At least I'll have nbt and nbs if I can find it
er5/12 - stand up straight
thanks, ursh
79 left and good night everybody
help with the re 7s please? i only have the first re 7/32
night ruby - i have 20 left and soooo stuck
er 5/14 to burp
funny, cat, I knew the word (from scrabble), but didn't know what it meant
ken - i have re7/36 - animals paired off again
it usually is a loud er*** which is or can be funny at formal dinners!
ty ursh, that gave me 4 more
can I get a clue for pe 7/40 please
thank you!
Usually seen as pe10 with ion on the end, sort of intuition
oh chrissie, I am just not seeing this pe 7
ty chrissie, I couldn't leave
Pe* (each) + there is always an ex****ion to a rule
yw ruby, sound like you're on a roll
Amin
Oops. :(
Have you got it yet Annie?
64 left since I left lol
idi
lol, 56 here, might list soon
61!
57! and DH is stomping around
fireworks - yay - can help for a while if required
tada for ursh!
Tell him to hush : P
any clue for the pe7 and pe8?
hello molly
My pe7ion of right and wrong may be different than yours.
did anybody read the essay about dogs by Lena Dunham in the New Yorker? I was reading it in bed and DH thought I was cryig because I was laughing so hard
thanks, got the pe 7/40...going back and forth to the kitchen, the stove repairman is here

yw
clue for last te6,21 please
and now it is time for crossy's recepie of the day!!!
Bacon Cheddar Puffs....oh I so love these! Light an fluffy ...like air with bacon! 1 cup milk 1/4 cup butter 1 cup all-purpose flour 4 large eggs 1 cup Sargento Fine Shredded Sharp or Mild Cheddar Cheese 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp, crumbled 1/2 tsp. onion salt or powder 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper Combine milk and butter in medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat until butter is melted and mixture is simmering. Add flour all at once; continue to cook, stirring vigorously with a wooden spoon, until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat. Beat in 1 egg until mixture is smooth. Repeat with remaining eggs, adding just 1 egg at a time, beating until thoroughly combined. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop heaping teaspoons of mixture onto greased baking sheet. Bake in preheated 350°F oven 25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Meant clue for next to last te6,21 please

sorry bout long post,lisa
ty bichon. Looked for that but never saw the second half !!!!!
yw PMS
hi all.just started so will go into lurk mode in a minute but i wanted to ask you crossy about your recipe
ha ha, its ok, just caught me off guard for a quick second, then I realized ;)
Hello all! Wow, this week has gone quickly...how are all of you?
all purpose flour? we get self raising, plain, wholemeal and others and what is halg a cup in ounzes/gramsmes?
howdy jilly
hi jill :)
sorry lillian, here in north america many of us still use the outdated mode of cooking by volume vs weight.we will learn eventually
by the way ty to all the cluers here for the words i've just found :)
untill then get a measuring cup
my typing still sucks :(
i have been wanting good kitchen scales for a while now.it is much more sensible
i have measuring spoons crossy but we don't tend to do measuring cups here. we use scales
i know ,lillian.we are still a bit behind here
actually, i don't even use them i just use a big tablespoon, which normally amounts to an ounze
what about the flour crossy?
1 cup measure is half a litre.you could look up the metric weight of that
and flour is any all purpose white flour
we don't have all purpose.i'm not bothered about the weight, i can get around that :)
ok,what do you have?
i told you at 2.49 crossy :)
ok,i would go plain or wholemeal if you do not care for all that bleached flour
ty hin
anyone have a clue for the qu6?
re-looking through your recipe it's very similar to the recipe i used to make cheese and bacon cake pops and muffins in my electric makers.without the garlic salt and onion powder.we get garlic powder, b ut i've never seen onion salt
sorry sugrraleona, i've not long started
i would the used bits of diced fine pan fried onion bits cooked previously and set aside
then use*
phone :)
qu6 ... q+three vowels+consonant+vowel
ty mo
it means question or query.
have no ide at all,too many vowels
yw Jilly
i am blinded by e,s and a,s atm:(
well,e's more than a,s
nbt/nbs....only 67 words done :-(
If I enter empire one more time.....
oh well, will worry about it when it becomes my last word:))
crossy ... sorry I cannot think of another clue, but will work on it.
qu + 2 vowels + consonant + vowel. oh that is rubbish too!!!
qu + sounds like what you breath.
must be a varriant on the british line up,but cannot quite get it
breathe.
mo, what you breathe did it for me. Thanks!
no.am going to hold my breath and bang my head on the desk till i get it
nver seen the word before :-)

i don't know mkg?
do you live in south london lind?
sorry, i've just seen your earlier chat
LOL
20 minutes from Central London
i lived near croydon for alot of my life and then moved to dover and have been up here for years
I went to Croydon only last week to see The Stranglers!
fairfield halls?

That was my one and only visit Lilliann
Yes i remember you saying you have seen them a fair few times.
Hello, Mkg :-)
I think it is warm in the north and cold in the south this week mkg for a change
hi mkg.
it's really cold here but has been sunny
Yes Zoom, I came back to the UK cos the drummer is too old to travel to Canada now!

TO, i saw twins, one, twins and triplets :)
i haven't seen anymore today as i had it on late

bye lyn
so that would probably be 8am my time TO. i didn't see those
bye lind, tc hin, great catching up with you :)
i cannot IMAGINE what the word from the lowest right e could be
i saw them yesterday evening, (my time )as i went to bed at 10pm and it was before then, so it would have been your time yesterday but earlier
i only have an et5 TO
the pen seems to be emptying out
and it's not from that one
it is an ES9/60
of COURSE! *hits self in forehead*
i kept trying to pair es with st5
they seem to be and then they put more in, but they have changed the camera angle so it looks like alot less, but i think they have done that so you can't see them helping the lambs out of the ewes, especially if one dies, because of what they do to it.
they still have about 30 odd in there at the moment TO
es 9.....
i can give definiton for es9
ok, i;ll take it ty

Ha! I took french for 3 years and I only remember the how to say the abc's. lol
hi dorens. i must admit, i've been to france alot throughout my life and never heard of that word

good clue dorens
thanks. i was on earlier today and got it from another clue, but sure don't remember what it was
i'll have to ask my parents about that word as they live there
ty. glad i asked.
so owl, when were you at the great falls?
Hi again. Thanks for the clue, Dorens!
i've never seen it or heard of it when i'v been there
hi nef :)
MOnday, and did you see the cat story? I wonder if it was before or after I was there, probably after.
yw nef. I've never heard of it... and i'm somewhat of a francophile..
hi nef
nope, what is the cat story? (and for what it's worth, this is the time of year that the falls are the greatest... snowmelt, etc.) but they're always a tr***
I need to brag: my DH and I had to go to the mall; and he took me into the Apple Store and bought me a brand new Mac Mini! My b'day is next month and this is an early present! I can now play videos and all sorts of stuff I couldn't do before! :-)
oh that's great nef... enjoy it!
Very cool Nef!! So happy you can use your present early.
Evening all.
I still need to take the old computer in with the new one and they will transfer all my data for me. But I'll need to leave them both there overnight....
wow,nef, that's great
hi peachy
May I please have a clue for am6-24 the 1st? Thanks
i think i posted it to FB
Hey there, TO.
oh wow nef, what a lovely hubby you have
I think I'm married to the nicest guy! :-)
only one i have ends with stidgemere's husband, peach
hi peach. i don't have any am6's sorry
the only one I have so far has to do with electricity
hi gmere:)
ty i got pe/12 from that clue, doren
that's the one i have too
Hi lillian. How are you today? We are in the midst of a grayupongray drizzle.
gmere when did you sneak in? :)
i'm getting realyy dirty looks and wagging of tail from my cat at the moment as she is on my lap with her head over one arm and doesn't like that i', typing :)
Thanks much, Dorens. I needed that one also.
My dog, Murphy, is sleeping. He doesn't like this drizzle any more than I do.
we've had sun today gmere but cold and then it rained this evening.but atleast it isn'y snow!
Oh-oh. DH just reminded me I need to go to an MS meeting with him. Maybe I won't get to play much tonight.
can someone in us do me a favor and try to open msn?
BBL (I hope)
we actually had sunny weather for a few days in a row here. a few more degrees wouldn't have hurt
It is that way here today, stidgmere. Makes one not even want to get out of bed. Sunshine tomorrow, I hope.
You have surely had a winter that meets the sterotype--snow and cold.
sorry owl, no msn. only mac here
We won't do sunshine for several more days.
if you use a mac you cannot open the msn website?
sunshine really is terrific. highly underrated
actually never tried... always thought of it as "the other side". i'll try now.
i think we are are all saying that at the moment dorens :)
ok, i've opened it. now what?
it is going to get warm over the weekend. nothing, i cannot. so i cannot read my email. i've tried from google so it is not the link
I don't even know what a msn is.
msn is a website. like yahoo
high of 53 for saturday. my big day.. taking the grandkids to The Lion King. then dinner with them and their parents and old friends.. then Leonard Cohen in the evening. Hope I don't fade
Are you trying to get into hotmail?
Need to curl up and try to get rid of this headache.bbl.
Feel better Peach! :)
bye peach. feel better
I can get to MSN
i hope you feel better peach.tc
doren's said she had msn opened?
yup, no problem
wow! so you have your date for the concert? it will be fab!
i would be falling asleep by dinnertime :)
I'm not really following the conversation. TO can't get to MSN, so she can't read her email? How is MSN "the other side"?
nope. i am bringing an old friend. the "date" didn't quite fit the bill
oh, i am sorry about that
yes i am trying to get to hotmail
try going to hotmail.com
87 left, can i do it? like 'bob the builder' said(one of my bairn's favourite tv shows when dshe was little say)"yes i can." or maybe not!
actually it is now outlook. and i hate it but i don't like what google has been doing with gmail. i may just switch to a temple account
Hope you can Lilliann.!
L is the little engine that could : D
hi jmere, how are things with stid and family?
I am not a fan of Outlook
well, i have four wheels molly :)
duh,just got it molly :)
See L, I am exercising your memory. : )
Hi flosey. The stid family is being so brave. The biggest regret is losing Lucky. Everything else pales by comparison. Nevertheless, they are now in a permanent, temporary housing and waiting for how to rebuild.
you are, ty hin.still loads 43 years worth to get through yet :)
thanks, it all takes so much time - been there
what an ordeal! Is there anyway we can help stidmama?
stid was on earlier today for a while.
is there any clue how this started? she alluded to a defective product?
Right now Dorens, if you have email, mama can tell you what would be most helpful. Kind words and thoughts are paramount. I was out this morning visiting friends (having coffee) and did not see mama yet today.
I am not sure how much is proven at this point as to the cause of the fire. Best to let mama tell you when she knows rather than speculation on my part.
ok, thanks g'mere. will do
Well I only have 149 more words and my eyes have been so strong today I am thinking of trying a little piano practice. Good bye for now, dear Babbling friends.
bye gmere
g'nite, g'mere
lovely gmere, enjoy
as i say everytime i see you gmere, stid i sin my thoiughts and if there is anything i can do to help i will.tc hin and send my good wishes to stid and her family.i'm sure everything will work out.tc

,well, i suppose, that is natural.
hi liz
Yes I guess so.

See 6.55 comment lilli for choccy!
They sounded yummy - we finished some banana cake yesterday!
omg, i know the series but i can't remember liz. my husband did have all the books in the james herriot series.i think either the mice ate them in the garage when we had to store things there or he tipped them as they were in a box/bin/liner he couldn't be bothered to look in

Such a short time! I'm amazed!
i thought it was that long ago. ages and ages.
i was 9 when it started and i think i watched all the years
it seems that there were at least 4 seasons. we watched on pbs where they don't have proper seasons so it's hard to tell
i thought it was longer than that.i looked it up on wikipedia and they are normally right
For such a short running period, it's left a strong impression on many people.
it has liz, it is one of those programmes that people don't forget.
One of my favorite ever ..
Hi Tor :)
hello tor
can you remember a comedy series about a copper liz.i think he had a woman's name, liek rosie or something?

p's and r's now!
thanks, lilli! Frank is out at a highway committee meeting, should be back in half an hour or so
es + Scottish hat + last four letters of the twelve men who advise the president
wow, thanks molly! Never would have gotten that one.
pe 6 /24 - the first one pls.
laundry downstairs? does that mean you ahve your washing machines and tumble dryers down there(actually you have an open top washing machine in the U.S don't you?
Good clue for the es word - didn't have an idea how to clue it easily.
huh, apparently it's French, never seen it there either
my laundry used to be in the basement, lilli, but now it is on the ground floor with everything else
Oops, it's not 12 anymore and it's not all men.
and I have front-loading machines, quite large and very nice
that's ok, molly, I knew what you meant :-)
Laundry on the lowest level is the historic norm here. In my part of the country, that's where the kitchen is too historically.
i have the word already but what is the scottish hat?
most big houses had the laundry in the basement lilliann because of the noise I guess. No one has them in the kitchen as I see on TV shows from England
Ends in o shanter L
no kitchens in the basements of Canada Seain!
Hmm, never seen a kitchen in the basement : D
Where i grew up, most kitchens are in the basement, and most basements are walk-out with lots of windows. My mom's kitchen, dining room, living room, and laundry room are in the basement.
it makes sense in the hot south
aye, we have all our whit appliances as we call tehm in the kitchen normally unless we have an extra room to put them in
*whire....typing sucks as normal
*white even lol
keep trying, lilli! :-)
you keep your alcohol by the computer tho I see lilli ;)
kitchen in a basement. Yes, common here in my town among Italian immigrants
my excuse is sue is that it has gone 2am here :)
It was great moving here and actually having a laundry, lilli. So much space!
goodness, lilli, I forgot that! You should get some sleep!
Taking a break. Back later for the final 5 words. Have a good evening everyone :)
no, it isn't in a basement..some houses here have basements but most dont
enjoy, liz
we have normally 2 floors.kitchen lounge/dining room and then bedrroms and bathrooms uopstairs
we have normally 2 floors.kitchen lounge/dining room and then bedrroms and bathrooms uopstairs
oops
a lounge is what we call a living room?
but some have a toilet downstairs aswell and a conservatory, but not all
yes bichon
what is the conservatory used for?
There are so many names for that room. Lounge, living room, sitting room, parlor.
Is a conservatory what we call a sun room
we don't have a lounge and dining room, ours is all in one
mostly my house is all on one floor - kitchen, dining, living, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths - but then there is a full basement under it all with a fireplace and a bar
i would say so bichon
that's like mine sue, it's a ranch with a finished basement, bedroom and a full bath
how nice. not too common here tho
where i live is hilly, and most houses are built into hillsides.
back kitchen aswell up here molly
I thought you live in DC, seain
hi folks :)
hi welki!
Seain, I didn't know you lived in The Shire.
I live in Northern Virginia near DC. I used to live in DC, and very few houses in DC don't have basements. Where i lived in Capitol Hill, standard set up was kitchen dining in basement, two parlors on main floor, and 3 bedrooms up top. A full bath added up top and a half in the basement.
he has furry feet too Molly
i have a lounge/dining room in one, kitchen, craft room and downstairs loo(my craft room was the coal house and 2 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs
I do have hairy feet, like the rest of me, that is true. :)
I thot I was teasing ! Just keep away from golems
so, you sort of live in a bungalow sue :)
i need a bungalow but too expensive to buy where i live
we call it a ranch, lilli, bungalows here tend to have an upstairs
I like living in a ranch. We lived in a Cape Cod before this and the upstairs was way too hot in the summer
ah, ok sue, that's interesting.ty. to us a ranch is a house with acres of land with cows etc
well, yes, that too, lilli, it's confusing
but that's what we think of as ranches in the U.S
Yes, that's a real ranch, this is just a ranch style house
pr 7/36, pls
basically i just want a one leveled house
i gathered that bichon :)
one level houses are ranchers here
nm
then i need a rancher bichon, but a nice big one :)
too bad bichon. I finally had one
pr and what young people go on
and pl
Ranch homes don't tend to be really big, nor are Cape Cods. Colonials are bigger.
as in boy and girl go on one of these
There are some lovely neighborhoods of large ranchers here. Cape Cods here tend to be tiny. Bungalows tend to be big.
ty lili
Bungalows are big. I thought a bungalow is what you rent at the beach
then i want a bungalow, which is what we have here, little or small
yw bichon
little or small?? i meant big or small
you were clear, lilliann :)
i just want one level as i'm sick of going upstairs on my bum!
bichon, i thought the same thing - until i moved here, and learned that canadians call ranches bungalows
ranch = one level home = bungalow
lol. I have a rancher because it this is the last house I will own and I knew that stairs can be tiring as knees give out.
(so not ranch, like home on the range 400 acres :)
lol welki. i wouldn't know what to do with 400 acres, plus my battery would run out on my mobility scooter :) lol
there are Chicago-style bungalows that were built in the 1920s around here, typically brick - if you google Chicago-style bungalow you will see what they look like
look like brick versions of the wood bungalows here. :)
here we have detached houses and semi detached houses, bungalows, flats and bed sits
a bed sit is what we call a studio apartment here
they were originally inexpensive housing but can be quite pricey now
my first house had a floor plan like those sue. We called it a house
a studio -- not an efficiency, bichon?
fw see youse guys manana
well, there you go, bugs!
yay bichon!
is your bedsit all in one, as in lounge and bed in the lounge, tiny kitchenette, and very small bathroom as in shower/loo?
wtg bichon!!
we call those one room for all with a bathroom a batchelor suite.
May I please have a clue for pr7-40 the 2nd? Thanks
YAY bichon
bye bichon,tc
that's what we call an efficiency where i live, lilliann.
congrats and be well, bichon
ah ok thanks dc
I don't know that I ever really understood the difference between an efficiency and a studio apartment (maybe there isn't one?)
i don't have either of those yet, peach -- looking...
pr7 is to occupy, aquire,forestall
Thanks for looking, dcs.
names vary regionally, sue, so hard to say.
peach a mobile home (keeping with the theme) is pr* 7, 40 meaning it comes assembled
i just found that one, bugs
Thanks much, Bugs and dcs.
we have studio appartments here and they are slightly bigger than a bed sit.basically it is the agents speak
where i live, studios are larger than a bedsit/efficiency also.
pre7 is to acquire before someone else can
it all depends on the realtor. Some say sea view, some say sea glimpse. A sea glimpse means you have to jump up and down to see a tiny speck of blue over the tree tops
our studios will have a seperate kitchen and bathroom. it depends on the area where you live in teh uk as in the size of a studio
that's what i said earlier bug, the agents will say anything to sell the properties
sea glimpse - I like that!!
I told one realtor I would like a home with character so she showed me a house where every flat surface inside, including ceilings, was painted turquoise blue.
Paint is changeable enough to not qualify as character.
lovely bug...not!
Probably was painted by a character, though
it was in the horrible class but realtors don't know about that one
YES sue
that isn't character though.if it had chandeliers and sconces around it, fair enough
my son did his room - including ceiling but not the floor - in navy blue
so it was night most of the time then sue
that sounds oppressive, sue, though if it made him happy.
yes, I was thinking bay windows or tiny panes or carved woodwork ...
my house has character==when we moved in our oldest daughter painted the "grandkids" bedroom in a Hawaii scape--all four walls and ceiling. We Love it
i sound very posh saying chandeliers and sconces.i've never had any of them, they would be in mansions here
He did the floor in light-colored wood, so it's actually not that bad. And it's only one room. And he was a teenager at the time; maybe it was a phase?
he was teenager. Mine all wanted to paint their rooms black but I compromised with dark blue too, just not the ceiling
can i get a clue for the st 9 word please?
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everybody doing today
I had radiant heat ceiling panels, 2'x4', white, that couldn't be painted, so the ceiling isn't really all blue
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Way to go!
that sounds great school
hi min!
my cousins had a house where there were Disney characters painted on the walls of their bedrooms when they were little. we were jealous
and I agree, mcurl!
hi
penquis make the word before it past tense.
It really confuses people when I say things like "I had to go in to hawaii this weekend to find something for my son" or "I was cleaning hawaii"!
i did paint my bairn's room in different things as she wanted as she's grown up.bob the builder characters, little mermaid characters and i'm trying to think of the other one she had.i drew them all by hand and then hand painted them
Hello herinfernallady! How are you doing? Welcome to grid

No I meant I was on my lunch break in my volunteering job. It is hard to concentrate in the office. Trying to fix a few bugs
