pugs, how about you microwave a towel. there is usually enough moisture, even in a dry towel, for a microwave to give you a warm, moist pack. it only needs about 5-10 seconds. depending on the size of your microwave.

oh, and the size of the towel...try a hand towel to start with.
just be very careful. i don't want either you or the towel to get burnt.

absolutely, darling. we have a service on Good Friday. the church is stripped bare of any ornaments what so ever. there are no hymns of any kind. it is a funeral service, dear
then easter sunday, we have flowers, our minister puts on beautifully embroidered robes, we sing hymns of rejoicing.
Ive never heard of that, I bet its a powerful service then-----do you have a easter dinner with your family too
I need to find me another church---I really miss going
we all meet in a park for a picnic lunch, and celebrate Our Lord's gift to us together. this year is coincides with Greek easter. so my brother and his greek wife will not be joining the rest of the family until mid-afternoon.

I miss things like that with my family :(----seems all of my sisters have just drifted away and their kids are all grown and gone their ways

that is why i have decided to pick up the ball from my mother, and make sure everyone in the family receives a birthday card, and christmas card.

I am reminded of when our son was little - the school would have an egg hunt - they'd line up on one side and start off on the count of 1, 2, 3 - and my son ran to the other end and got nearly half the eggs while the other kids started with those closest. He's always been deviously smart, lol!

actually that's a myth - the red english tan comes from tanning machines and products - we do usually go a perfect brown in natural sunlight - something i'm very proud of when i get mine - and gorgeous i look with it!!! pmsl

You have the right attitude mael, just keep upright and moving, it makes the labor go faster. I made the mistake of NOT doing that with my first. With the second hubby and I walked until I was in transition, LOL I'd walk a few steps, contraction would hit and I would lean over on him and breathe.

Just keep in mind it is a natural function andlisten to your body. L&D nurses are the best! They will get you through this!
Mael, just do whatever is comfortable to you in labor. You are, after all, the one delivering that baby. If you feel okay in bed, stay there. If moving around works, then do that. You will know what is best for you.

Just popping in for a second. Mael, I've had migraines worse than childbirth! It's being pregnant I wasn't crazy about. Believe me, if it was horrible I wouldn't have done it 3 times!
And, no offense to Jill, but not all labor and delivery nurses are super duper. Make sure you go in with your own plan in mind and stick to that.

Nice to be in like company. I didn't like pregnancy either. All those women who talk about how wonderful and "glowy" it is are foreign to me.
Being pregnant is like being POSSESSED! By the time birth is imminent, will do anything just to get them OUT! My blood pressure kept going DOWN in labor and the nurses said that was weird...I told them "You don't understand...this is the part I LIKE!"
Molly, I wouldn't have glowed when I was pregnant if I'd stuck my finger into a light socket!
Here's a tip, mael....if you have back labor, have someone push pressure points on the insides of both your knees simultaneously...completely takes back labor away while they're doing that. My husband came out of our second son's birth with cramped hands!
My third child and only girl was only 5 hrs. start to finish and they had to tell me I was having contractions most of that time....I was playing Trivial Pursuit with the hubby! Also, I was induced all three times because I just don't go into labor on my own...don't believe the stories...no big deal and then they can move you right along.

OK, Molly---yes, I'm back from poof. Mael, I couldn't even keep water down during the first 3 months of my first pregnancy. Subsequent ones were better and my daughter was a snap. I think male children are more difficult on our bodies...think about it...you're needing to create male hormones for them...lots of work.
I also craved salty things with my boys and sweets with my daughter. I named her Sara and told her the reason was because I craved Sara Lee during the pregnancy! She now has an incredible sweet tooth, which I do not.

No, mael, not a kangaroo! Yes, I think pregnancy is unique to each person. So much involved depends on individual makeup of the moms. All I know at this point is that mostly pregnancy SUCKS.

One of my cats was once lying on my VERY pregnant belly when my son kicked...she chased it with her paws and all of a sudden looked up at me as if to say "How did you do that?" It was priceless.
my cat loves to sleep on me and there are definitely days when she gets kicked in the head so much that she just gets up and leaves, poor girl

Actually, mael, if you get them "under control" when they're really young, you'll be in good shape. If I told my kids "do this or else," you could take "or else" to the bank..it was going to happen. The word "no" seems to now be a bad idea. But my feeling is that you should teach your children the concept of "no" while in a loving and supportive environment and get them used to it because when they're out in the world, it is a "world of no" and they won't be prepared for it.

It never made sense to me to have someone with an upset stomach swallow pills; to me at least, that's a losing battle

phand, I worked as an aide in my hometown nursing home through high school. After the past several years with DH and elderly relatives in different ones, I know it's a lot different than back in the 60's. I thoroughly loved working with the elderly population, always have and always will (which is a good thing since I'm turning into one!!). I hope you enjoy it too

DH and his friend had 4 samples of the whiskey, I liked the 15 or 16 year old stuff lots better than the 18 year old whiskey (it was much smoother to me)
