Hello LoriP. It went well. I managed to walk round one shop and purchased a few items for Christmas, before I had to rest. Although painful it felt good to be doing normal stuff.

I have about 1/2 a doz. regular buyers and I sell them just ubder the store price. Mine are bigger and better and I am never with out eggs for myself. My two youngest grandkids love to come out and feed and collect the eggs for grandma. It is much fun....:>)

I thought cows were easier and pigs just perfect.
I don't let mine run free because they scratch up mt flower beds. I have a large fenced in area along and across the back of the barn for them with an entry way inside to an a unused stall for shelter. I have never been pecked as a matter of fact some of them hop up on my arm to say hello.:<)
We never kept pigs, we traded beef for pork with the neighbors. At least cows and pigs aren't evil.
They are good for eating bugs and other nasties, but however kind I was to them they never jumped on my arms , thank god.
I and cousins used to name the animals, a bad mistake when they went to live somewhere else. ( slaughter ).

tried getting into a sleep study last year which was about melatonin and its effects on sleep but was told my melatonin levels were normal. Don't think my current insurance will pay for a sleep study

I had one, and was on a CPAP machine for awhile...it really helped
I turn into the evil hound from hell when my sleep gets too disrupted.
I also have moderate apnea
so annoying
I will wait and see what happens tomorrow and what is recommended. Then I will look into a sleep study.

Had a major scary but good-outcome incident before dinner, Walter fubbled a heavy stoneware plate while helping set the table, but the swelling in his foot went down very quickly and the bruising isn't bad and he's himself again, so here I am instead of in the emergency room. How is everyone this evening?

Thanks Judi. He is. And setting teh table was all his idea, too. I'm very glad it all came out all right. These are some Thai stoneware plates I found at a second hand shopa nd they're heavy as lead, but he loves putting them on the table. I know what these feel like on a foot at speed. Dinner was, needless to say, delayed, and he did opt for the tylenol before bed But it looks like it'll be just fine.

Luckily, I think it won't even be purple enough for that by tomorrow. This boy is really resilient. Which probably explains why he survived his first week; everyone said they couln't give me a prognosis but as soon as he was getting better they started calling him a miracle baby. He bounces back incredibly well from these little mishaps. I did too.

It was. It fell edge first, and he cried like he rarely does, Then it started swelling like crazy... which went right down again with very little bruising and after 20 minutes he was chipper and walking normally, ate a big dinner, requested a Tylenol, and went to bed with no fuss or bother.

Yes, Walter is a tough little guy. He was even pretty sanguine after 24 hours when he brioke his leg two years ago. An hour after getting the walking cast it was like nothing had ever been wrong.
My parents sure had to, Harp. I was always getting hit in th head. (Yes, explains a lot, I know...) Pushed headfirst into a marble bathtub when I was 4, fell down some stairs and still have a 5 inch scar under my hair when I was 4, etc. 7 concussions by 8 years old. Then not so many after that...
i always remind my parents that I am NOT the kid who had to go to the emergency room.....

Some solid near misses too, like when that horse kicked a wall to splinters about a foot left of my chest when I was 12...

Well, let's see. Concussion #1, another kid at preschool shoved me into the marble bathtub in the playground.
Or, the doctor actually made a house call! Now those were the good old days.
#2, playing unattended at the top of some stairs with a sharp rock garden at the bottom. #3, thrown from a horse into a tree.
#4, some kids beat me up and when I ran away I tripped...
#5, golf ball in the eye at close range.
#6, horse bolted under a low tree branch... and #7, running kids knocked me sideways into the corner of a stone building.
Then I seemed to start spending a lot of time indoors reading...
Godalmighty! LOL! Way more than your fair share of skull splitting. Suspect your parents made you wear a football helmet everywhere you went after all of that.

See? That's how I feel. It was very liberating when I was 17 and realized she was actually ill and I shouldn't take anything personally. Then we had a civil relationship until I got pregnant at 36, at which point I went out of my way to forge a better one. Sorry Mum, love you PS - she lost a brother in WW2 and he was a twin - the other twin boy (they were only boys!) survived. My father went missing along with the remaining twin but turned up later. Imagine, nearly all the men in her family might have been gone in one go. AND her father was in WW1. Which is why they are so more stoic in troubled times cos it must all seem so trivial to them at times.

I'm coming in at the tail end of a conversation, but was thinking about the other day when someone made a political reference and was told in no uncertain terms that we don't speak about politics here.
