oh we did that too, we lived beside a small stream and on a really quiet part of the estate and it would be bedlam, seperate forts being built and sno wars, igloos and all the fun for the duration

and mini tobaggan hills .... hubby would come around with the snow plow and plow all the snow onto 1 lawn....to make a hill

Hi Babblers. I am quite jealous. If there is one thing I miss about living in the US. It's great storms. I love cold, blustery winter storms. They don't even exist here. Neither do blowy, thundery summer rainstorms.

it's not like that trif. they aren't saying it would be illegal for you and your doctor to discuss it, they are saying if your doctor considers the pill a form of potential abortion, and doesn't want to participate in the destruction of life, he doesn't have to help you do it.
if your doctor doesn't have a problem, you don't have a problem. it is more an issue in rural areas where women haven't a lot of options doctor and pharmacist wise, and so forth.
if my doctor considers the pill a form of abortion, I clearly need a different doctor. one who is educated, for instance
i don't think a pharmacist should be able to trump the decision of a doctor and patient. believe what you want but those beliefs shouldn't intrude on another's health and autonomy.

well trif, you are including the doctor. and really that is all that is going on - the gov't is not saying that you can't get the prescription, they are just saying that if your doctor doesn't want to prescribe it, he/she does not have to.
babble - in kansas, I think it is, doctors, no matter what they believe, are required to read a prepared statement to their patients seeking abortion advice. It includes language like "you acknowledge you are ending a human life" and other really manipulative text. the patient is required to sign pages of forms, and other stuff. it's hateful!!! The government in that state has completely intruded into the doctor's office, practice, and ran over the doctors' personal beliefs
perhaps doctors that hold such beliefs should be required to advertise that they will place their personal morals over a patient's individual choice. that seems fair to me and to the doctor. there is a lot of room for conflict that could be avoided that way.
the gov't is not "intruding" but current legal requirements make it a rather grey area
if you call for an appointment and say I want to see a doctor that will help me with contraception and get find out in advance the position of the pharmacist you should be ok

Back for a sec... A major experiment is underweigh. Walter always wants rice with butter and soy sauce for dinner. Today I told him he needs to start eating more things, and that he should tell me something I can put on his rice the way Daddy and I eat rice. After much thought (and me rejecting cheese), he chose carrots, but specified that they needed to be cooked in soy sauce and butter. Which I have done. Dannny will be home late tonight so Walter gets to eat alone-- well, as the only one eating-- so I said we could do that in the living room. Let's see if he eats this... it'll be a breakthrough if he does... he is one fussy eater!

If the dislocation is severe enough, they want the patient to be treated by the ortho specialist who definitely knows what they are doing!!! Think of all the specialties even in the ortho field. If they want her to wait for the right person to do the replacement, I would wait!

Yes. Both my parents are doctors. They would see plenty of patients that they then had to refer to another doctor, as that particular injury/illness was not their expertise. Especially if there are complications (pinched nerve, etc) that may make the relocation more difficult.
