i work for Customs, and the Mexican border is a whole other world from the Canadian one.
we have similar, yet quite separate, policies on the two frontiers
except with much lower deductions. so that basically if you get $200 back from the feds, you get $5 from the state.

Well, she did scream very very loud when she found a spider in the pantry. I had to be not scared of them to rescue her. The phobia has now passed on to my daughter, who is even more frightened of them than my Mum is.
I have to rescue both of them at times, and they're not fooled if the spider escapes and you just pretend you found it. Poor spiders!
poor spiders indeed. I tell them it's ok to be here as long as my husband doesn't catch them, so they mostly hide, which is fine with me.
