hi dee hi
GNight all- have fun ! *Snore*
I got a big screen tv a couple of days ago... guess how much it cost me?
no clue; how much?
can't possibly guess...
and I also got a tv for the spare bedroom... guess how much that cost me?
go on, mrp...
big screen tv. $8.00 with stereo and wide screen.
no way!
how on earth?????
I am sending you shopping for me the next time!
just had to replace the power cord, which had been cut when it was left on the side kerb for council cleanup. Same with the spareroom tv... $8.00 Lickety replaced the cords and they work perfectly! We now have 5 tv's!
hooray for frugality!
we have a 6 bedroom home! plus a fully contained granny flat, so tv's all round!
amazing! wow must be great to have Mr. Gadget for a hubby :)
AND!! Guess how much a mohogany dinning table to seat 8 cost me?
oooh don't know if I want to know, I ne4 one ... peeking through eyes and removing fingers from ears.... ok how much?
About 100 metres worth of petrol! ... .15c It is in excellent condition, perfect for under the patio (even scored bench seats in wood!)
excellent... applause for a good eye!!
I love scavanger week in our neighbourhood.... more money than sense these people! Throwing out perfectly good stuff!! Unreal!
how's that cliche go... one man's garbage... another's treasure
AND! I picked up a drinks trolley for the back patio too! perfect for a party!
chic trash! That is me
makes you feel like you have a brand new house!
scavenger week? Sounds like a great idea!
Dee, having tv's in all the right rooms is brilliant! Having a whole 'new' outdoor setting is brilliant, especially as we are having a big party this weekend.... (ssshhh, it is a surprise)
sssshhhh perfect timing!
jilli, do you have free cleanup weeks in your province?
we do not, as far as I know
need the z word for NBT
ye 7
we don't here, either; have to pay for hauling or haul ourselves ty nan
My son found a lifesize wooden cut-out of 'chewbacca'!! fantastic!
good work, kaz -- I have 6 blanks
In our cities, we have curb clean ups... everyone puts their stuff out by the weekend advertised, and the local councils send hundreds of rubbish trucks and burly men to pick it all up... for free!
zo 6
ugh really lol
ya 6 x 2
the kids have a ball scavanging! We end up with half the rubbish on the street dragged to the front of our house, and used as toys for a week and a half!
that is a fantastic benefit mrp; would be useful and motivating to clean out "stuff"
NBT
rbud, have we ever heard of that zo6?
wtg rb
YAY rbud!!!
hellp
hello oops
lol wassup MLF
the best is when they find a queen size base mattress on wheels! Everyone of those kids puts on helmets and rides the mattress down the hill, jump off at the end, and then push it back up the hill to do it all over again!! LOL
hi mlf
oh ok :) and wtg rbud
hi jill
sounds like a fun neighborhood
hello everyone
hi mlf :) and kaz :) and my darling jilli and dee! Sorry, have been chatting about rubbish all day!

hi mrp dee and jilli
i got one of them thanks cyber

m7
don't know mlf -- just calling 7's and 8's here

mo7 x 2, both come off the mo5
ta 6 x 2
i have no clue what that z word is grrr
po 8... nice rounded smell

keep looking for the rabbit
po8/ 55
ty
I called the mo 7's a long time ago, mrp
then you do have 7's!
oh yes -- it was the an 7's I was looking for
an7's.... ah. sorry
an7's - builds off the an5 for bother
this is a really good grid today! *happy*
have 2 an 7's from that 5 -- looking for the third now
much better than the last tough small ones; that is for sure
other an 7 buids from an 5/10
need 2 for nbt (z and low centr o)

It never is -- not even for Tiger
how was din din last night jilli ?
hi jc
Hello JC! Long time!
hi ru
hi ru hi jc
rururuuuster !!
HAHA, a week is a long time?
Hi mr. P, dee, pini
81/151 & NBT!
Hi, Dee . . .
best be on my way...night all...
prezzzzziiiiiiiiiiiieee!!!!
po 8 what does it mean?
hi ruru -- it was lovely but couldn't have that wine. Sin-in-law wanted a glass of white, bro-in-law abstained (driving), so I just a a glass of local syrah
keep seeing pornagraphy but that ain't it
oh ok.. how was dinner
po8 -- a mixture of aromatic substances, often in the form of a ball, formerly carried on the person as a supposed guard against infection but now placed in closets, dressers, etc.
po8 is a smelly ball
potpourri doesnt fit lol
you can find them in glass or cardboard... fun to make with paper mache
ah! but you put potpourri in it!
dinner was divine -- mine was quail in a sauce of cream, apples and calvados. Sabayon for dessert. And the ambience is so beautiful -- the weather was perfect. Friendly greeting from the French chef-owner and his hostess wife. Smooth, easy service from expert waiters.
how wonderful.. what a great birthday
did you enjoy your relatives too?
You bet!
I always enjoy them -- good fun, easy-going.
I was thinking about you enjoying yourself last night
I was thinking of you and your wine suggestion and feeling a tad guilty, lol!
nah.. just if you were really letting go.. sounds like they are tea tottlers
totelers?
Ruru -- while I think of it -- have you found that book I mentioned -- Merle's Door?
I am going to order it from amazon
my next book
wow.... this is not so small of a grid!
hello all!
a big gridster for the stidster...
je pense que Jill est sur SSI again... (sur? dans? avec? -- what preposition do I need?)
LOL ruru *hugs* missed you the last couple days!
They are far from teetotallers! SIL has recently become insulin-dependent diabetic and BIL had a hefty martini on the rox before dinner
oh... she shouldn't drink at all...
some designated driver..lol
hi Stid.. good to see you too
Oui, stid, je suis ici à SSI (I think that's right, not sure)
merci bien, chere Jill la grand dame!
Hello, stidmama! :)
ah, the french world ici!
((JC)) how are you, kiddo?
Aww - you make me feel so young, stid! ;)
SIL is very careful, and worked it so that she could have that one glass of wine -- no dessert.
Not bad thanks - and yourself?
well you're looking pretty young! didn't you just have a bday?
(The BIG 50 is looming)
may I boast?
ye
yes
Please do, stid!
Yes yes, ruru - so it is. Don't remind me! :P
okie dokie. I had to write a paper for my geography class. It was worth 15 points... I did it in two days (the pressure was on) and got
*drumroll* 20 pts!
Who stid, me? Not quite yet . . .
On the 25th.
very good stid.. I studied geography too
Good morning all
You got 20 points out of 15, stid? How does that work?
(signs jc up for aarp magazine)
Naff off, ruru . . . ;) HAHAHA!
hi stid! good going girl
LOL
WOW, stid!!! How can you do that? Something like what my dad did in his youth? He had to write a civil service exam and would get 10 extra points if he did so in Chinese. So he did, and got 110%
good for you stid. I never got a 100 on anything
thanks mrp! the teacher is used to first-year college students... said i had written a paper worthy of grad school so he was giving me extra credit
oh my just looked up and thought you said 'paper worthy of grade school'
never ruru? i am shocked!
well, probably that, too west! rofl
very nice stid !! what was it about?
can i get a clue for the PO 8 i cant find it?
no no grad school fits much better
wow stid congrats!
(wasn't a great student)
I was about the way the toponyms reflect not just the cultures that have lived in a place, but how they often (at least originally) really had meaning: navigational or identifying who lived where.
NBT at last
me either ruru
go jill go!
hi hi hi hi hi hi hi
good stuff stid! I got 100% for a paper on Human, Science and Technology. Freaked me out! I wrote about Naom Chompsky and third world development
hey joshua!
oh -- the PAPER was about toponyms, not "i"... *sigh* my figners are tarred.
wow. Noam is a pretty hefty guy to write about!
PO 8 help please??
po8 -- little dog abbr + plus + hesitation
how is your family doing, mrp? we are starting to ramp up for the stidkid's trip...
little dog? or little horse?
stid i am confused i dont get it
I am the confused one, MLF! didn't even know there was an 8 until you pointed it out! LOL
po + adult male + not over but un***
ML just google orange studded with cloves
aha! thanks Chrissie!

nbt
that doesn't sound a-peeling
yw, and congratulations on your paper stid
go joshua go!!!
hi josh quick as always
west i got it thanks
the trash is out the cats are in and I'm where I like to be best
took me a couple of minutes to figure out the z
is the N in the fourth row fishy?
or the Z? those are my last tiles I need...
gj ML Chrissie's clue was great
I am babbling and eating left-over choclit cake from the class potluck...
for that N i got past tense of got close to, stid

thanks joshua!
stid, I was thinking of little dog -- po*eranian

thanks joshua, got it right away!
NBT
Thank you Josh - also got that immediately! :)
thanks for the zo
aha! finally saw shrek!

wtg stid
(meaning, in the grid, I saw Shrek)
am I sounding as tired as I feel?
no, stid!
you sound very happy to have things done
se 7/28
yes, I am happy, west. And tomorrow I have many things to do (such as finishing the term paper for one class), but nothing so urgent that taking the stidkid shopping for travel clothes will be a hassle.
good stid !! must be nice to breathe for a change
It is nice to feel "on top" of life for the moment.
phant -- sedentary

did you see the link to where we dined, sprite?
and co 7/32
no I didn't? Love your steamroller and write-up, btw.
yours is super, sprite -- like the tilt, lol!
where's BabbleRabble? Looks like we summoned a big grid successfully :)
lol yes, that's what decided me on which pic to pick
here's the link: http://www.deepcovechalet.com/
ohhhhhh jilli, that looks delicious and what a beautiful place! You'd find our restaurants boring, I fear.
that place is a dream come true
if I could dine with such a view, I am not sure I'd eat at all! We have a saying in dutch: I wouldn't have enough eyes to take it all in.
If you saw the menu too, you'd manage!
just looked at the menu. Delicious!
jili you forgot to warn of the volcano alert
dee, I missed it completely! thanks!
:)

lol west, love your steamroller!
co 7/32 is an offshoot of co 4/5 (starting with jacket root)
thanks dee
thanks sprite too you and jilli did such a good job on the real thing
co 7/48 is co 4/7 + a baby horse (do not double the middle consonant)
the co 7/32 is co 4/5 + consumed
it's amazing, the new things I learn from some of the themes! Never knew a thing about steamrollers, now I do.
west, rbud did too!
rbud, please talk :)
huh?
I saw rbud's loved it!!
awwww rbud you have the cutest steamroller icon!
dee I have the co7/32 still working on the others
and thanks for posting so I could see it
good luck then west; hugs to all... cya the flip... *poof*
I must, however, admit - my first thought on steamrollers was also James T - I LOVE that song, it's favorited in my youtube acct.
night dee :)
and now I have the co 7/48 strange!
night, Dee!
nite all *poof*
it was my first thought as well, but then I thought I would like finding some info. Jilli had told me she found it fascinating and I was curious!
actually, I blushingly admit I still have the Sweet Baby James album.
don't blush! Wtg!
so do I in my box of 33's
it is one of the things I like best about the icon themes: to see how different people pick them.
we had a party this weekend, and a DJ friend loaned us equipment, I got to listen to a bunch of my old vinyl. It was nice.
aw that is lovely rbud
I have 3 turntables, but can't find needles! :(
you know you are reading a novel about scotland when 'sporran' is a phantom!
I put my needles away safely and now I can't remember where they are
darn those safe places for things! I know how that goes! lol
oh sprite what's it called? our daughter loves anything about Scotland
probably because she's married to one
westford - where in RI do you live? i'm here too!
it is the Outlander series from Diana Gabaldon. Outlander, then Dragonfly in Amber, and now I am readying #3: Voyager. Delightful reading!
he's of Scottish descent that is
I'll tell her she may have read them already
I know that kind of safe places. My house is full of them. Guess my kids will some day find them and make heaps of money from the contents ;)
west: yes I think she might have, they are pretty well known.
has she read the classics like Lorna Doone, Ivanhoe, etc?
no, but I have
how old is she?
westford - did you see my question? where in RI are you?
Ivanhoe! Oh I remember the series, with that awfully young Roger Moore, lolol.
no franny I didn't I'm in Pawtucket
small world. am in cranston :)
hello fellow Rhode Islander!!
well, if nothing else, i've found all the y's
if we could only get past Providence lol
gratz josh
the y's were fun weren't they josh?
get past it? as in what
it took a ye6 effort
just thinking of the Bosquet cartoon in Yankee magazine..said people who live in Cranston have to pack an overnight bag if they're going to Pawtucket
Rhode Islander's tend to stay put lol
ha. well, i'm orig. from indiana, but have been here 10 yrs, so i get it. anything more than 5 minutes away is too far! ;)
funny he singled out cranston tho - thought the whole state was that way
I was born here and came back a few years ago some things never change
i have a friend in pawtucket (i pronounce it PAWtucket) in some artists lofts there. lovely
we can tell right away you're not a native then lol
I have heard of the village haven't been there yet
how should it be pronounced then?
Hope something isn't it?
oh, everything about me gives away i'm not from these parts. :)
puhTucket sprite
like there is no w sprite
that's it
thanks :)
they squish words together here in new england
I have tried so many times to get my friend from England to pronounce it correctly she says poo tucket
I'd have said poh tucket
it's a Narragansett Indian word that means City by the Falls
Brits mess up Connecticut a lot too -- it's conneticut
do they pronounce the second c?
that's the way I say it Jilli
oh that is great to know! Romantic name.
the 'falls' are about 3 feet high lol
jilli, and is it really CONneticut, or more like K'neticut?
conNETitcut
not to mention Washington State's funny pronunciations -- Puyallup is pew-allup, and there's a clam called a geoduck, pronounced gooey-duck
the second way sprite
thanks west
omg jilli those are crazy words. then there's Hawaii, where they pronounce Every single letter, including each vowel
yes, most brits start out pronouncing the second c in Connecticut
oh I like geoduck!
I've been away so long I've lost almost all of my accent although I still have trouble with China Pattern
China Pattern?
china pattern?
unless I really concentrate it comes out Chiner Patten
lol
hawaiian is great, whatever little I know of it. Fran taught us!
the RI accent is something to behold
you know ...dishes
I miss fran here -- she had so many interesting things to tell us about
where did she go?
so do I, jilli, very much
to FAcebook, lol!
off to facebook, franny :(
she was here for such a little while when I first came in
i got married in Kauai 10 yrs ago this june
oh how lovely
her icons were always on the subject but with a Hawaiian twist
a happy anniversary coming up, franny?
well i have a facebook page and i'm still here!
our daughter and SIL just attended his brother's wedding there
so do I but I don't really know how to get the most out of facebook -- just play Lexulous
mos def sprite. :) though it's going to be tinged with a bit of sadness this year - my best friend, in malta, just lost her husband to cancer today - woulda only been married 3 yrs this august
I keep threatening to join FB so I can talk to my daughters and granddaughters
it took up too much time for me, I do have a page but I don't go there
oh franny that's so sad
oh franny, am so sorry
oh, how sad, franny!
westford - it's becoming more popular with us 'older folks' for just that reason.
i know, it's just awful. he was only diagnosed the end of march. only in mid 40s :(
does she have family in Malta?
dear god so fast, that is tough. May she have all the support she will need.
i'm hoping she'll come stay with me for a while after she packs up her life there. no west - she's american - her husband was maltese. so i expect she'll be coming back here. i want her to stay with me so i can take care of her a bit
that's nice sprite. yes, for sure. i've felt so helpless being here while she's been dealing with this nonstop for 6 weeks, giving me a sadder update each time, til today
I hope she will come stay with you fran you're a good sweet friend
I hope so too, it would do her good to have you close
aww well, i love her to death west.. i'd do anything
it's rough - there's nothing to say or do to make it better... all a loved one can do is 'be there' for support, yes?
yes franny, exactly
true
didn't mean to overtake chat with my stories. people feel free to clue words :)
that's what we're here for fran
i myself am stuck at 80 words
the day babble chat is no longer the place for sharing, I am off! Please feel free to chat about anything, franny.
on a happier note when in June is your anniversary?
june 5 :)
ours is June 19th
10 years is beautiful! Are you going to do something nice?
Ours was June 14 and so was my parents'
we'd hoped to go back to kauai for this one, but now we're kinda shooting for maybe the 20th anniv. :)
June brides !!
june is a popular wedding month! i didn't Plan to be a june bride - just how it worked out
congratulations on those special days to all
you got married on your parents anniv. jilli??
yes, franny -- but they weren't there -- they were in Shanghai and I was in Montreal
we'll probably just be home with our pets (we have 8), where we're happiest. i Am hoping for some sort of sparkly bauble.. beyond that, all is well.
aww.. too bad jilli! i didn't have anyone there for my wedding either. dad was gone, and mom couldn't make the trip
shanghai - my goodness
ah another animal lover just knew you must be
that sounds lovely, franny
sounds great to me, franny! Happiness and contentment are close relatives, right?
long story, franny -- some of it is in my bio
definitely. all these years later, and i'm still not sick of him. ;) j/k
ah, ok jilli..
lol! Good sign for the next 10 then.
you have pets west?
yes 3 cats right now
ah. we could probably talk for days with cat stories. i have 4 :)
sprite has a new baby puppy
ohhh! what kind sprite???
a king charles cavalier spaniel
pics in my flickr account :) He is such a delight.
Ohhh my goodness! they are so squishy cuddly!!
they are :D
did you watch Sex in the City sprite?
no I didn't, should I?
charlotte got one in the last season, and she named her Elizabeth Taylor - picked the most beautiful woman she could think of since her new doggy was so gorgeous. was so funny everytime she talked to the dog - time for dinner Elizabeth Taylor!
roflol!
omg it was beyond funny. esp when the doggy accidentally got 'knocked up' by a neighborhood pal - charlotte (miss prim and proper) was aghast, and when she found out said, "mommy can't look at you right now elizabeth taylor!"
whaaaaaaahahahahaha! Poor doggy!
and not fer nuthin - how could you (or anyone for that matter!) not watch Sex in the City???? it's FAB! ;)
will remember, when I go looking for a new series to collect and watch!
very good. :)
I know it was on HBO which we got rid of but now it's on somewhere else but where?
I give myself series as a gift, sometimes, on DVD. I bet this one is available here as well.
um. tbs?
sounds right
have you seen the movie fran? I'm thinking of putting it in my queue
one of my secret sins... on my very bad days I sit and watch episode after episode. Takes my mind of things in a good way!
Ohh my gosh yes! saw in the theater opening weekend! :) it was glorious.. they amped up the opening theme with orchestra, and it filled the theater - gave me goosebumps!
will remember that too!
sprite secret sins are the best kind lol
are you watching Dancing with the Stars west? Gilles Marini, the main contender, had QUITE a role in the movie
franny we'll just put the volume on the surround sound up
the second best, west! The best are when you can share them with one good friend and do them together, lol.
no I am not watching Dancing ... gave up after the first one took too much time
well of course sprite lol
:)

mornin babblers!
hi eva
how goes it?
pretty good eva, yourself?
im ok. very quiet in here today!
I don't know about others, but I am concentrating.
Finding this one difficult today.
Good morning/afternoon all.
hello madam hazel!
Hello EvaN!
rather quiet in here this morning, im afraid. methinks everyone is buried in the grid...
Yes, it's been a funny sort of day as regards chat - bursts of activity, then nothing. I've been in and out a bit throughout the day so far.
But it could just be the need to concentrate.
EvaN, I meant to ask you yesterday after you were talking about the hippopotamus. Have you ever encountered the poem 'I had a hippopotamus' by Patrick Barrington?
not that i know of, but PLEASE lets not mention that word. *said for fear of having that song stuck in her head for another day*
No, this poem is of far superior quality to the song. I'll not copy and paste it for fear of overdosing you on the animal but it is fun.
last night not only was i singing that dreaded song, but it was mixed with another beast-ridden holiday song, "Dominick the Donkey"
I've not heard of Dominic the donkey. I take it that's a blessing in disguise?
probably best. one can look it up on youtube, if desired.
With that sort of recommendation? I can read between lines.
heh, it IS my friends favorite christmas song. its just.....sticky....
Sticky? As in it sticks in the mind?
yup
Understood. Catchy has the element of approval about it, sticky says something different.
hah
well, were it not stuck in my head yesterday, i may deem it as catchy. today, i declare it sticky.
I will not argue.
hello all
Hello peri.
have the po8, help with other 8 pls
17 Y words?
ta8/55 - past tense/adjectival ending on ta6/24, as used by women.
thanks Haz
You're welcome.
hints for that PO8?
scented ball used in closets, etc
po8 - think of old-fashioned devices for holding sweet-smelling herbs or spices.
hrm. not potpouri.....
No, include the opposite of a female early on in the word.
TY, never heard of that word!
Had you not? Babble has taught you something for today.
babble has shown me something today. now i must actually retain that new information in order to be taught. (and the way today is going, retention is unlikely)
If you can get those songs out of your head, you'd free up some space.
dont i know it!
Hello everyone
Hello Becca - nice to see you.
I'm sneaking some babble in while the baby sleeps ;o)
Good for you - how is he doing, apart from sleeping?
We'll be sure to be quite then.
Ah. rats. He's awake again!
Little horror!
He's very well thanks Haz. Just started crawling at the weekend, and can walk if he's holding on
This is where you need eyes where the sun don't shine Becca ;o)
I know it's an exciting stage (moving around) but I always thought of it as the time when the baby seems intent on doing bodily harm on a minute by minute basis.
Don#'t I already know it, Norma!
They are wonderful at that stage ... into everything but still interesting
Ha, his favourite things are the most dangerous!
First time mothers are always encouraging babies to their feet, second time around you're hoping they'll stay immobile for a while longer. Still, it's exciting for you both.
Got a sharp end - loves it, conected to the electricity, loves it. In fact, the only things he seems to ignore are his toys!
LOL Haz. I didn't encourage him - I liked the immobile stage!
If my typing goes odd, thank
You will spend all your time waiting for them to crawl, waiting for them to walk, waiting for them to talk... later on you will wish they would shut up and keep still lol
ethe baby
lol norma!
We're not earth mothers at all, Norma! I ag5 with you on the talking/walking.
Must go before he breaks the computer.Bye
Enjoy your baby Becca pretty soon that baby will be getting married... and you will wonder where the years went
What a shame! Still, good to see you, Becca.
Any help needed with words? Otherwise I should be getting on with some chores.
ga5/18 please Haz
more happy norma
ga5/18 - comparative of a happy adjective

do those who always ask for clues ever say to clue for others?
NM
bbl
Quite often, yes.
you asked that question yesterday didnt you Colluer, someone did. There is nothing that says those who ask for clues have to clue back or visa versa.
FM!

oh no WAY
I know, ridiculous!
ta 6 already past tense
i mean i know the trend is to make verbs from noouns... but that is TOO MUCH
Hmm, is there another ta6?
not getting it
ta6/24 can also be like a packing in a wound ..
ye 6/21
I have went to spa and ta6 in a booth
ty, tor. that makes it all better :/
So a wounded person could be bandaged and ta8/55 ..

we almost have an orgy today
re 6/18?
draw a salary again
re6/18 - your favourite, ruru, wages again.
Good morning/afternoon all.
thanks a lot haz.. you saved me
hi haz
hi haz!
Hello there! Sticky kind of grid, isn't it?
it is twisty, and lends itself to missin gplurals
Twisty is the very word for it.
hello all
Owl, the focus group has been rescheduled for 5/29!
hi peri
Hello peri.
just did two loads of laundry
Well done!
:D I don't really mind doing laundry here. The laundry room is just down the hall from me.
it is the housecleaning that I don't like and since you refuse to fly over and do it for me, Haz, it usually remains undone
I've never refused, peri, but who'd clean my house while I was away?
se7/28 pls?
hmm, that is a problem, Haz
se 7 the spanish ham
ro 6 anyone?
Unless I just wrap everything in cling film?
I thought se7/28 was a type of pepper
ro6 - begin with former Pres Reagan, finish with the start of 'over there'
it is a type of mild hot pepper. just saw it in a recipe
bonjour tout le monde
I should be a dentist for all of the teeth I have to pull to finish some of these grids.
Bonjour Ata!
great clue, Haz, thanks
You're welcome, peri.
hi, Merk, your name is a real word. I found it in another word game
Bonjour, Ata Hari!
it merks in babble too
lol Merk. Hi all back for a little while I hope this time.
Yes, it was here last week, but when it appears, I find it no faster than anyone else.
hi there, FM
Hello FM, nice to see you.
Ata, where are you going to Sark?
friday!
great clue haz.. done
Has Sark been put on full alert?
and you are meeting up with Liz? Hope you have a wonderful time, Ata
Congratulations ruru!
Hi peri, HAz, Hata et al
Hiya, planet dwellers!
oh and congrats ruru!
yay, ruru!!!
Hello Judi!
Hata???!!
oh yes. Hobbit and Oscar are going to create chaos
Hi all, Ata, Sark is great! Have you been there before?
I'm conserving letters Ata :)
how far is Sark from where you are, Ata?
Good evening all.......
a 3 hour drive, a 2 hour ferry, and a 40 minute boat crossing!
sorry but can't get the se7/28 any other clues?
Hello caitlyn - nice to see you.
hi fm!
type of hot pepper Mary with a double consonant in the middle
and hi cait!
se7 - s plus three letters to do wrong or make mistake, vowel, opposite of yes
is your husband still going with you, Ata?
yes, unfortunately. Hobbitella too. obviously.
cait!! you are about to leave us all for a Greek idyl aren't you?
Oh Haz, have you been missing me :)
Hobbitella :D
ty Haz you're a life saver
A week today FM
You're welcome, Mary.
what about Sily, your cat?
Hobbitella is my litle "pet name" for her lol
Yes, caitlyn, I'd noticed your absence.
*waves at TO* log has suddenly got busy!
Sily's off to cattery
yes and almost time for me to go :(
Oh I thought it was this week cait :)
Busy days lately Haz, just been popping in doing the grid and out again
I can't imagine why you'd want to go to a Greek island, caitlyn, not with the weather we've been having.
has Sily been there before.
Poor TO - just when things are hotting up.
I know ,its a big problem but someone has to go !
well i have found a few words anyway.
yes, she has
Can I give a clue for an5/10 - what Van Gogh was missing.
of course I should really just take her to FMs and let FM adore her for a week
*groans*
You're a big hearted woman, caitlyn, helping out the Greek tourist industry like that.
but who cut it off?
ata i am catless 0 would love a boarder
Ah! That's now debatable. Gaugin is in the frame.
you'd love Sily. She's a darling
There'd have been no doubt if CSI had been around to investigate.
Yes. Bad Gauguin.
*pokes Ata and runs away*
did you all hear about the brit couple who went to detroit to adopt a kitty they saw on the web?
No - do tell, TO. Did they get the cat?
yep. and escaped with their lives, too! ;)
*swats Eva* this bloody assignment! Sark week is a 100% ART WEEK.
twas on yahoo or msn yesterday
yep, had to wait six months due to quarentine
Helluva long way to go to adopt a cat. Yoiks.
Were there no cats needing a home in Britain? I don't understand that level of instant and expensive love.
it was love at first sight.
That is a good point Haz there are always cats/dogs needing homes
I think my husband would have me committed to the home for the bewildered if I suggested such a thing.
would have been funny if the cat hated them
LOL
hehehe
Sat with its back to them for the rest of its life?
I am going to disconnect this phone!!
oh dear, is there a home for the bewildered? I better shape up!
When it wasn't scratching them to death.
so this is sheer madness/ there is no brit subsiy for pet adopton?
or the adoption ppl refused to let themhave it
TO - the place is awash with stray cats and cat rescue centres. Those people are crazy.
perhaps the shelter had to travel to uk to approve them.
they wanted a gangsta detroit kitty?
LOL
LOL. Cat from the hood.
maybe just wanted an excuse to go overseas
LOL rbud
too many laid off auto workers, no one to adopt poor motwon felines
MOTOWN
Seriously, is it not madness to go halfway round the world on the basis of a photograph, especially knowing that they could have a houseful of Brit cats.
bl
absolutely
So it's not just me being annoyingly practical?
what ever.
it's probably fixed, too, so not even expanding the gene pool, lol
yes it was rbud
Think of the money they must have spent, they could have donated that to a pet sanctury
and its bad enough travelling with an animal as far as Sark. poor cat in quarantine for 6 months, and air flight.
sorry phone went, have I missed much of great import?
*pokes Ata again*
actually, it shouldn't be 6 months quarantine if it has its rabies jabs up to date (from the shelter)
I'm with you, Haz. If they had donated an equal amount of cash to a local shelter and adopted a local cat, all parties involved would be much better off.
america rules ata
*repeats last comment to Eva*
WB FM I had phone trouble as well
all animals coming in and out have to be quarentined
Flagrant frivolity!
*never saw last comment, since she poked and ran*
*breaks out some wine and nibbles as it is that time of the evening*
course maybe they felt they needed the press
they have to be quarantined inthe US, going out of the country?
yep
dont know what paris does with her little dog
Oh lovely FM that hits the spot, ......putting some garlic olives alongside FMs nibbles
not if the animal comes from another country to start with. not that that affects this case
We should get on our British high horses. What's wrong with our animals?
Paris probably has a different dog for every continent she visits.
I know I can take Hobbit to the US and back again with no quarantine as long as her jabs are up to date. It's part of the US - UK visting regs
all identical
identidog
cool, hear about animals being quarentined all the time
Absolutely. Cloning has had its uses for Paris.
and it was in the paper too
ah,
cloning for Paris? Twinned cities or boobies?
FM!
LOL
doggies lol
although every once in awhile she looks bigger
Jsut asking the question :)
cloning paris is a frightening thought
Not one to be thought of for too long, is it?
I have already wiped the thought from my head
ok folks - catch you later!
better than cloning Jordan
have a good day to
Paris(h) the thought!
Byee TO!
Bye TO! See you again.
bye TO
lol judi
Jordan who?
Bye TO great to see you, although I bet you are sorry you said about that couple LOL
Haz is the expert
Haz I bet you are upset for Jordan
No, I'm not. Ata has read magazines.
glanced at the covers, and I'm sure you have too!!
I'm in therapy, caitlyn. They say three years of therapy plus medication should see me through the worst of it.
??????
LOL
Who is Jordan? Is that Paris's boy toy arm candy of the month?
Have you heard that she's angling for a new job. How does the thought of her being the new Speaker grab you?
Jordan is a female with inflated chest assets and bank balance as a result of inflated chest assets.
**shudder**
it grabs me like grabbing a whole armful of bees
canandian actress juid
who thinks she is an Equestrian Star
Her marriage has just broken up. Nobody saw it coming.
Oh. Pfffth.
oh sorta like pam anderson lol
She would do a better job probably, although I think Peter would be better
but tackier
haha
Only tackier, cherly. Think of that. Tackier.
She has had her *assets* deflated a tad
You're not defending her, FM?
wow is that possible
Hmm. Methinks equestrian riding and inflated chest assets may lead to concussions.
i laughed for days when pam anderson complained that no one took her as a serious actor
she has about 10 children by different fathers
lol, Judi
Ata has never knowlingly exaggerated anything. Have you noticed?
busy woman
3 children, 2 fathers.
seems like it would judi
how many really? only 3. thought it was 4. oh well!
She divides Britain. Lots of people think she's wonderful because she has made loads of money. Others loathe her.
phone back in a moment
that has never been the basis for my admiration

Raquel was the Pam Anderson of the 60's & 70's.
it was that fur bikini, wasn't it?
yw
1million BC was the movie?
Raquel wasn't much of an actress either.
Raquel actually was/is a smart woman
only saw her in one (others we weren't allowed to watch) it was a western
have you seen pamela anderson act
Hmmm. I think I remember that western. Wasn't Dean Martin in it?
yes, she wasnt too bad in it
talk about a bad actress = pamela anderson
Can't remember the name of the movie, though.
my dad was a nut for westerns
am thinking it would take some acting to be turned on by Tommy Lee, lol
*Ponders* Was it "Five Card Stud"
easy. close your eyes and dream of GC

hi peach
hi bzzn
it's okay maria jose, there is a help page if you can read english well enough. http://www.playbabble.com/help
Hi there, jmcnrick.
Hey, jm.
co 7 co**pose a poem, and ride a po4
Hope you are well today.
what a great clue, cherly!
never heard of that word
hey peach!
Hey there, stidmama.
weird word cherly
I am stuck on the AN 5/14.
Don't have it yet either, stid.
an5ing, isn't it? in fact it will make you very an7/40 if you can't find it
an5/14 - what little brothers do
LOL thanks rbud!
and VI!!!! how are you? how was your last show?
To upset someone, stid
one last A, the AR 5
thanks also sally!
an7/36 - one who an5's
Hello, stidmama! The show was really feeling the effects of the economy, but still fun. Thanks for asking.
stid..goes with a bow
ar5 - you need a bow for it!
straight as an ar5/18
I am glad it was fun, I still need to order the rest of your books. surprisingly, this quarter has seemed very busy.
snap rolin
aha! thanks for the AR!
down below 100 and falling steadily
I'm just so pleased the first books were a big enough hit that you're wanting the rest! =D
how about the CO 7 that is just after four-letter abbreviation for New England state?
hit the halfway point
oh yes -- he was fascinated. ((hugs)) and it's even cooler that his mother knows the author! LOL
im halfway too
lol
go rolin go!
and go cherly!
co4 + pt of eat
Aha, I was missing that abbreviated state. Thanks!
AHA! thanks rbud!
ty rbud and stid
need a de 5/6 combo that is after mosquito repellant?
de5/18 - to put off? But perhaps there's something in between...
thanks vi *thinking*
mosquito repellant?
I don't have a 6 with that one, either. *looking for more*
that is the 5... now for the 6
like the plural letter D only different last consonant, rolin
de6 - de + ---- a one
ah, the de 6 that comes after is like de + "not any" word that is in grid
---- a one means not any
LOL snap, vi!
how about the EA 5/12? in the middle of that section
Good, because I was just trying to think of a better clue!
oh i had that word...just didnt realise that was the definition
ea5/15 - like hardly able to wait with the final letters transposed
oh sorry, ea5/12 - with hearing apparatus?
probably, vi *thinking*
I still have 44 words to go, so I may well be missing the right words, by the way.
oh geez, a past-tense. *sigh* thanks!
down to 72, won't finish by the hour, but may come close...
ga 5/6 combo?
I have ga5/18 - more cheerful, but if there's another I need to look for it
have a ga 5 more happy
There's a ga 5/20, but not sure how to clue it.
no, before the happy one.
ga5 = Yiddish thief/swindler
it comes after the last ga 4
*looking*
and I can't see how to extend the 4...
oh, that one ga5/20 - yiddish, ga + short for borther's son?
*brother's
ah, yes, yiddish fish. does that make it gefilte?
thanks vi
Gs done
lol
Ms mastered
how about NA 6?
not wide, stid
na6 - strait
hi folks!

and a past tense (one left)
ohhhhhh stiddy! I have a question!!
and an upper-class peasant-type. firewords.
quest away, atalante!
yeah stid
can help with clues if desired!
where is a good place to eat geoduck??
I have about ten minutes.
congrats Stid!
dunno. never et gooey-duck.
around your area / between Sea-tac and Oregon!
but probably Puget Sound is best since that would mean it's fresh...
Do you mean gooeyduck? (unsure of spelling)
nor me. So I want to try it!
geoduck is the right spelling, gooeyduck is the right pronunciation
Whoa. It is spelled geoduck. Crazy.
its a clam and the mascot of Evergreen State College
I would think any of the bigger seafood restaurants? Anthony's for example.
penis substitute molluscs
<--- points proudly to icon and where I will return for my master's in the fall...
rofl atalante!!!!
where my husband mat gronig both went
Mike Rowe ate some on Dirty Jobs..
tell Les hi for me stid
YAY STIDDY!
OR, there is a restaurant in Shelton that has a reputation for excellent eats -- it's out of your way, but very close to my house (which would give you an excuse to visit)
he did!! lmao. We were hanging around at dragon*con last year watching the Mike Rowe geoduck episode and determined then to find some to eat
sure thing, jmc... should get your husband to write to Les and ask him to stop cutting programs.
I loooooove Dirty Jobs. And Mike Rowe.
should be over there late July / early August
I suppose my husband could send a ghost letter ;-)
me too. I like the one where he had to make chicks poo
I thought chick made their own poo
if you squeeze them gently, they squirt poo
I think that works for babies too
He also sexed the chicks.
ATALANTE!!!! you wanna come to the phage meeting? I saw one person is giving a talk/poster about phage in the water column (I think that was it)
after poo-ing them
de-pooing them.
when is it??
thanks jmc. every little bit helps. I don't know why the legislature and the governor think that making education less accessible (at all levels -- preschool through college) will in any way provide the state with a solid foundation for our future...
August 9-13... on the 14th we go to Mt. Rainier
sorry stid I was making a joke -- my husband is long dead
ooooo. *writes down* flights etc aren't booked yet, will at least make sure I'm still there for those dates. Good start!
hm. just checked Xinh's menu and no geoducks (though everything else makes me hungry)
oh jmc... I am sorry -- I forgot. *very sad mama look*
I am determined to eat geoduck!
Hmm. Rhetorical question: would you rather be smacked with a fish or a geoduck?
depends on the fish
Hello stidmama. Warming up lunch. Not geoduck. Fish smack--the shells of geoducks are formidable.
fish. definitely. geoduck shells are BIG, and THICK and HARD.
fishes are much squishier...
shark would hurt, their skin is owie
hello mother! was about to head out to the school. Have to tell the kids how I graded them on their papers.
are geoduck fresh or sea water
are sharks fish? or proto-fish?
salt, cherly -- they live in the Puget Sound only.
sharks are most definitely fish
So, this looks like Atalante will need a driver on this side of the pond from airport to restaurant. I'm your volunteer.
I ate leftover chicken soup for lunch.
Good idea, Mother!
seawater clams. Did you have cake for dessert mama?
geoduck would definitely hurt what with the shell and all
okay, I'll probably forget and have to ask again someday, my brain is so full of other information at the moment! (but for now... sharks are fish, sharks are fish...)
I'm clever over there! I can drive on the wrong side of the road! I've driven from Seattle down to Oregon before. Though it's rather disturbing!
no, cake for breakfast... LOL
hum allergic then
*cringes and makes note to stay off roads while atalante is in North America*
It seems like we are agreed on the menu. Leftovers, geoducks, and cake. Oh, you brave, brave woman.
a shark is a fish. it has fins. it has a tail. it swims.
orcas have those things too, atalante *wink*
sharks have big teeth, the better to eat you with
are you NOT allergic to fresh-water clams? I wonder what the difference is?
but they are different. lol.
Well, don't bother, cheryl with anything that doesn't agree. Shark are cartilaginous (spelling) fish. Boney fish are the others.
Are seals going to be included with their flippers and all?
spelled right!
I hate to leave, but the kids await. Back later tonight. Thanks for the conversation, everyone. (((jmc)))
nooooo seals have fur!!
iodine in saltwater
fish don't have fur!
I need to go and have my lunch and get back to business here. I'm about to begin the p words and need all the power I can punch.
Mother, I'll come by some time soon after 3:30... Tom knows he needs to get the kid.

later, peri!
but it wasn't about him
really jm you think she wrote it for him?
that was what I was told at the time
and carly was not in the picture in the sweet baby james era
Warren Beatty? That's one I heard it was for, among others
she was a Simon Sister then I saw them at the Cellar Door in DC
he really doesn't seem vain, so it seems like it would not be about JT
I"d believe that lol
I see now there is a Rolling Stone interview in 1973 in which she said it was not JT -- another illusion crashes!
I heard it was Mick Jagger .. I'll bet we're all wrong ..
I could definitely believe Warren Beatty or Mick Jagger
in fact JT may be the least vain singer in the world.
any help please - doing my head in
he is sweet
i love on one of his live albums where there is a quiet between songs, and this woman yells out, "i love you james!" and he says, "good." (people laugh) and then he says "i... think it helps us not to know each other." (laughs again)

(((owl))) !
hi mr p!
{{{{mr. p}}}}}
how are you?
must go take something for this tooth. see you tomorrow, all!
*yawn* just woke... have to work, but doing ok! Thank goodness for another day off tomorrow
Heya mrp
bye TO
hi jmc and torg!
hi mrp bye owl feel better!
oh man! it is going to be pouring for the next two days!
hi torg
hi west :)
wind gusts in excess of 100km per hour, warning of flash flooding... joy
this is the second day without rain after about 30 with
rain is good mrp don't you need it?
looks like I get to sleep in on saturday... no soccer for this weekend!
same here jm but we even had some yesterday morning
a weekend without soccer...unheard of
the coast doesn't need it... central NSW and VIC need it!
I'm beginning to think we live in a rain forest
always the way mrp
over 1200km of warnings to stay away from coastal waters and rivers.... that is a big warning!
will they listen or will the surfers be out
west, aussie surfers have a dead wish
surfers will be out surfing
they surf during hurricanes in the Gulf
but it's that ultimate wave!!
of Mexico that is
the one they wait all their lives for
no use surfing off Sydney beaches at the moment... the great white pointer sharks are sitting and waiting
that would be a good mind changer
that doesn't change the surfers minds here...we had a fatal attack last year, and there where surfers in the background (and getting interviewed) on the news reports!
only 1 fatal?? we had 7 fatal and 15 limb amputations just this year!
hi dan :)
your whites are hungrier than our...we have a seal colony right near where the attack took place
Hi MrP...did I read that you are back at work now?
one diver got half eaten in the heart of our harbour.
I am dan. darn it! makes me tired!
but he had a good view of the Opera House!
indeed dan! and the tourists got a good show
then I'm sort of glad to hear it...I know how long it has been since you could work!
it's all about the tourism, isn't it...same here!
darn couriers...be back in a few
thanks dan... is good to be back working.

hi dan2, did you ever find a home for Cheetah?
still looking. Had an application come in yesterday, seems promising
Good news, hope it works out!
thanks me too
can I get the letters/points for the Z?
I keep forgetting to ask, Dan. How are the pups all doing--have you heard? Glad you got a promising application. The ones I have been reviewing on PBRC lately have, well, not been A pluses.
its a zo 6.
the pups are doing great, though there's been some odd medical issues in the bunch - mrs2bit has been posting updates
It's a zo6/27
http://sites.google.com/site/dan2bit/H ome/cheetah-and-her-puppies/
poor pups; sorry!
nothing serious individually, just some weird things collectively
That link crashes Safari when I try to open it--happened three times....
hmm
Glad it's not serious!
I don't have safari here to test
oooh Rocky Mt Spotted Fever. I had that. Miserable disease.
sorry that seems random, but I was reading Dans update on the puppies.
no worries, Dan. I will read Red's report of it.
should I give a report?
you can also check out http://www.friendshiptails.com - it's a blog by one of the puppies' new owners, who is herself a veterinarian
I loaded it successfully in Firefox, thanks!
Interesting that Cheetah has leash aggression--something a fairly well-informed adopter should be able to work with! It all sounds quite positive. Well except for the dog park--I am quite opposed to them...
for this dog it's good, she can be social and active at the same time
but some people who just "dump" their dogs in the park are not doing themselves or anyone else any favors
It's the dumpers that ruin it, if you will, for my breed of choice, pit bulls.
I understand what you say, and assume that you and ms 2Bit watch the dogs and respond! It's the others...
ah, I can see where pit bulls also create some tension for people who don't know any better
yeppers, dan. Mine is a "cream puff." And loves other dogs, but we still won't be going to a dog park.
For me it was the officious people who would pounce on newcomers and go as far as examining their pet...
ick, red
as one attacked while jogging by a dog that jumped a fence I believe owners and breeders should be held criminally responsible for the injuries caused
Evening all. Going to try to finish this....only 15 left (seems more like 10).
35 here ga and it's making me crazy
Meant 100!
I'll help if I can Dorens.
thanks.. i'll yell when i need to

a mediator is not a therapist nor a counselor. the parties must establish the value of the property; the amount of the debt; how each should be fairly devided; who has custody; what will be the support; will there be spousal support -- rehabilitative or permanent; the earning capacity of each; visitation including holidays and summer; and make an inclusive proposal for consideration.. then the mediator may ask the dr phil question: how does that work for you?
