Hi Bug - a bit jagged today.
Some days are like that when you have a big change in family dynamics like you have. It takes a while for everyone to find where they belong and that they are still loved.
Step has been left to her own devices for too long and behaves inapropriately for her 14 years, I think. After a week with us and at her new school, she now feels at home enough to start doing (what I hope is) her learned behavour from her Mum, rather than some genetic thing.
We call that first week the "honeymoon period"
My guess is it is learned behaviour and that it is not comfortable for her Mum to give her up.
The family dynamics aren't in question right now, since my son's away in Turkey with his g/f and her family and my daughter's not living here anymore, but visits frequently. However, I saw the couples dynamic between me and Other Half shift almost on the first day.
To me, couples are still family! (Please know I am smiling)
