have a/c's for the bedrooms but it's a waste of time to install them...not enough days of heat and humidity

wolvie, no dice... went to the hospital, was there for almost 3 hours, and they had told us at 1.5 hours she was next in.... then at 2.5 hour, asked when she would be seen and got told there were 5 people ahead of her (11pm at this stage). I asked if the pediatric consult was on, and was told 'no, went home sick'. Well, what do you think I said after that!!

well that is good news at least, and the doc news is even better. will keep my fingers crossed for you guys.

my mom had a brilliant sunday call once - we were down at our summer cottage, and some lady called with an 'emergency" and then asked "while I have got you on the phone, can I schedule my mammogram?" ---we rolled.
But I have given my pager # and phone # to some parents and one called yesterday--9 yr old daughter had what sounded like flu so I sent her to urgent care ctr to be tested and she has it. So she and her brother are now on Tamiflu. The doc at the urgent care ctr only did a 3 day Rx for her and it is supposed to be 5 d.

the worst were the turkey calls -- patients of other docs who "dropped" their oxycontin or percoset down the toilet, and wanted my mom to prescribe them 90 more. they would get so irate when she would write them no more than 2, with an order to see their regular doc on monday for a full refill. sigh
She tested positive for Influenza A and then the snot gets sent for spe cific testing of the strain. But we are seeing lots of H1N1 here and a 15 yr old previously healthy boy died of H1N1 10 days ago. So sad.

"My boyfriend says that Ozzie doesn't have ADHD and tossed the Adderall down the toilet, now I need a new prescription." Or parents that say Ritalin isn't working let's try Adderall and now that isn't working so can we try Concerta, etc

It depends upon how premature and immature they are, and the circumstances of their early birth. Some full term babies can actually have immature lungs and get into respiratory distress and some premies do great. Some premies have catastrophic issues.

yeah. i started to get worried because lately as soon as we get on skype he asks for my husband - who can juggle and play guitar and all kinds of cool things. and i thought, oh no, ah-TEE is no longer interesting. but apparently he talks about me all the time when anything reminds him of me. and i noticed yesterday, at a large family gathering, that when he's uncertain of something and wants protection, he seems to feel just as happy to get that from me as from his mom, if i happen to be the closest handy mother figure.

Started with removign two tazer barbs from a psychotic ladies breasts, like fish hooks they are, moved into a code, which was long and involved, thena near emergent delivery which thank god got transferred out, then a concious sedation, while my other patient was being intubated and then ended with another code and death...and large arguement with bad charge nurse and bad physician.
