Night, Kazozz - sweet dreams to you! :)
thanks JC :) I'll make them of you, then they'll be extra sweet! hehe :)
Oh, you're silly Kazozz!!! :P
I know...but you like it anyway! Now really am gone!
hello babble friends.
Hello, Trif! :)
I am so bumming right now. I went out with friends, first time in AGES and managed to lose my sapphire tennis bracelet somewhere along the way. :(
191/100 -- enough for now -- see you tomorrow :)
Mr. Hate gave me two decent pieces of jewelry, and I lost one. :( :( :(
Oh no - sorry to hear that, Trif. :(
Have you retraced where you went, to see if you can find it?
yes, and left messages in at the restaurant and all. AND I drove home at a slooooow pace just in case it was lying in the road or something. how pathetic! I really hope it turns up somewhere
Oh no - I hope so too, Trif! :(
good luck, trif. I had a lvoely sapphire ring my mother gave me -- put it on the dresser after a night out. Had workmen in to do something with windows. No more ring.
This was many years ago, in the Montreal area.
Oh no, Jilli - how awful to lose something of such sentimental value! :(
oh, no jilli!!!!
good luck trif. I lost a gold earring that hubby had given me, my favourites, it had been election day in BC, and next time I was in the hall there it was pinned to notice board
I am just so bummed that I didn't notice I lost it. my own stupidity....
yay flosey! good to know it can happen
just past halfway
I still have the matching earrings...
that's great, flosey!
what luck eh! so can happen Trif
my d-i-l had her late grandmother's hefty diamond engagement ring. Diamond fell out into the toilet, flushed away unnoticed.
Oh NO, Jilli!!! :(
oh, that BLOWS jilli!
moral of the story -- get gems re-pointed!
phantom: emblem
Good day all - what are the stats for the loan e
ey 7/44
hi ursh
ty
ty again that gave me nbt
Oh,Jillibus - my stone fell into the sink at work (didn't know you could unscrew it) and was lost ... repklace it, or take DD to London? the marriage was a dud, so we went to London .. a good decision.
wtg ursh :)
lol, christine! Better memories that way, I guess!
hello everyone :)
hi mrp
hey mr p
hi mrp! Lickety snuck his list in silently!
I see we have an extra word in the list... a 7 letter
and very much appreciated too mrp
he didn't say 'clues are up' ??
Hi MrP I think it's the em7,36 that is extra
nope!
He's really a good guy --- second marriage is over 30 years; we weren't right for each other, but together we made a great kid, so it wasn't a complete bust.
hi flosey, dipp, jilli, just et al
No, he said nothing, mrp - he just surprised us!
well jilli, I will have to slap him silly! He knows better than to slip in unnoticed
that's good, christine :)
no no mrp, we can always check
oh, don't slap him, mrp -- unless it's slap and tickle
lol jilli! it is all foreplay1
brb
Foreplay? *Perks up!*
had to change TV channels...

ciao mes amis,, bonne nuit!
sleep tight, pav!

flosey I see you are too wise for me...LOL
ah! trying to find words to fit those initials!! silly me
we used to write that in kids' autograph books -- YY U R, YY U B, I C U R 2 YY 4 me
I C I am 2 old 4 U!
same as the one....11 was 1 racehorse, 22 was 12, 1111 race 1 day 22112...work that one...LOL
lol jilli, don'
don't remember ever seeing that one
maybe it was a Brit thing
lol, good one diz
love that, diz
oneone was one race horse, twotwo was one two, oneone won one race one day, twotwo won one too.....dunno about Brit. I.m Aussie
Aussie = Brit in many ways

Hi all
hi Diem
hi diem

You betcha, flosey! But yesterday just did some shopping in air-conditioned places, lol

yes indeed
and boy do we have a lot of fluid!!! anyone want our rain?
am babbling in bedroom, S-I-L brought me a lovely cool glass of my favourite wine
oh, what a lovely idea, flosey -- I think I'll get some Gazela right now!
no Katie,how you doing?
good thanks diem. I move office today so just getting ready for work with a bit of babble
Katie, BC could use some of your rain
katie -- we could use it -- terribly dry here -- lightning started a forest fire in the Blackcomb resort today -- evacuated tourists etc -- it's almost out now though
To Brum? you get the transfer?
Only in my dreams!! To Leicester as they need my desk in Nottingham. Its the same distance but I do like the people more and will be working with my new team so not unhappy about it. Got to apply for the Birmingham job and be interviewed, won't be sorted until october
The fires must be so worrying, puts our soggy summer into perspective!
oops red box
How will the traffic be? relax Katie the bob sleigh run will still be there for you and Bry
hmmmm haven't told him about the bob sleigh run yet lol Traffic is about the same.
I was in the office yesterday at 5.10 and was asked by 4 people as I left if I was working late!! late in Nottingham is past 7pm lol
oh just realised the time, better get ready. See you all soon x
Bye lots of love say hi to Bry
166 down, 125 for tomorrow, off to bed, goodnight all
oops, bad math, 167 down, 125 for tomorrow
You're 23 ahead of me, flosey
Jilli my local libary has a petition going they say they are facing cuts to funding{it is Fraser valley} are you facing the same on the Salt? night Flosey
ah, you'll catch and overtake jilli
flosey, there are 291 words in the grid and 292 in lickety's list
the first em 7/36 in the list is not in the grid
thanks BR, that's prob. where the mistake came in
diem, I hope not! Our building is about to be condemned and we need a new one -- hoping for an infrastructure grant. We are an independent library, mostly volunteer run.
hope you get it a library is a must for everyone
saw tentative plans for the new one today -- looks great, but needs lots of money even for a modest one

hi hi. please help with that se7/36. thanks
its ok..i got it
sorry helen, was making tea, but don't have it anyway
G'd morning Babblers! A nice biggish grid this morn.
heya Lori
hi again
Good morning/evening all. Just passing through but thought I'd say hello.
hi andree (hugs)
Mornin' Andree
hi haz
G'd Morning Hazaurus!
hi lorip and mrp
Hello there!
morning Has, Mr P Ma'am, Andree
oops Haz, sorry
Have we noticed that FM is here (in the grid)? The one who takes all the bl5/16.
lol
I thought of her right away......
i thought that was ata
too right haz! but ata is the bl6 child
FM is at fault for most things. It's a gift.
LOL gift or curse?
We tell her it's a gift.
LOL poor FM
ok 93 left time to hang laundry again brb
I must investigate why my icon isn't changing. I've uploaded a pic of Scottish Parliament buildings to illustrate ey7 but it won't take. Too ugly, I suppose.
FM knows it's her fault, and she accepts it. As she should.
No doubt that's the reason Haz.
It's worked now.
it sure is ugly
It's ciriminal, bearing in mind how lovely the rest of the city is.
a beautiful city i do so agree
way too ugly and a huge waste of taxpayers money, like most government projects
Have you seen or heard about the laying of tramlines in Edinburgh? Princes Street ripped up for years all for the sake of two tramlines.
I will step off my soapbox now!
it's a nightmare for tourists, especially those on coach tours, the coaches can't get to the city centre hotels
one driver i know said his elderly passengers had been expected to walk almost a mile uphill with their cases
he was livid because he couldn't help them all
It's outrageous that they're spending that amount of money when, apparently, nobody in Edinburgh wants it. Our taxi driver was giving off about it at a great rate!
ok am done ranting now.
nobody wants it because it's costing a fortune, it's impractical to reintroduce trams in an area that already has severe traffic controls
ok am really done ranting now
I think every governing body should have 'A sensible person' to veto mad schemes.
governments seem to have a great knack of wasting taxpayers hard earned money
actually i'm not, it's all down to backhanders and those handshakes they all make before they get elected
Andree all politicians are corrupt, just to varying degrees and i should hush now
lol
(I've heard that Gordon Brown watches babble chat log closely)
Gordon Brown..you are an idiot.
lol
the toen i come from has serious employment issues, with no prospects, we have had the chance for a superstore, will provide almost 600 jobs, but the local council who approved the sale of the greenbelt land to the possible store have since blocked all approvals for construction
zooz is a brave man.
gordon brown has no right to be in No 10, he wasn't elected by the people and he's hanging on tight
p*** off gordon
LOL
Paws off Gordon. Who knew that Andree was such a fan?
i'm sure everyone else knows who the last chancellor was that took power without being elected, and look what he did to the civilised world
You're sure he wasn't elected?
tony blair was elected
anyway shushing now, politicians really irritate me, they forget they are there to serve the needs of the populace, not their chums with their old school ties
Just checking, he was appointed to chancellor by president but he did have popular support.
I'll be back later as well. Bye!
bye haz
bye Haz
hi all....half way point reached and slowing down now....
hello lou
hmm....licketys clues say there is one more word than it says on here....??
oh dear, that makes it harder lol
just a tad! lol! wonder which one on licketys is wrong
we will have to ask anyone who finishes
lol
well, all the A's are correct if that helps
that helps ty
it was said that EM 8 was not in the grid
haled
sorry
thanks for the tip mills
ty
hmm...more confused now, as there isnt even a EM 8 in the clues!?!
lol
altho...i cant find the first em 7
am so stuck on this one
and im surprised that email isnt working
i have one em and it's an em4, sorry
have em4/5 and em4/8
(morning!)
email is usually hyphenated
i have a em 5 and its plural
oh, just found em5/14 and plural
to add to or correct
ohhhhhhhh i have em6
delay
Does any one know what the extra non existent clue is?.
it's a plural of em4/5, uses both curly consonants
oops, sorry
thanks jac
we were told it's an em8
np
we are trying to figure it out zooz
Thank you Jac.
oh friends have arrived..bbl
we can't confirm that though
ok..will ask later just to make sure.
still cant figure the first em7...it may be that, but dont quote me on that yet
was not friends at the door..was postman..ok lets try and find that word that does not belong here..lol
can't track a few em's lol
em6/7 is like the precious green stone - swap a vowel for al
ok so we will try em`s first then.
em7 is to send message via interned
ty ty ty lynxxx
internet*
and babble doesn't like em***l so that clue must be the 'surplus' one
was gonna say....this isnt accepting any form of that word!
brb need a snack
i have two more `em` to find
how many are there, zoom? I have 7
one more to find of the`em` and it is a four letter
how many em's are there
8 lynxxx
7
have em 5 6 6 7 4 6 4 4
TY I am missing 1 or 2 then
hey, lynxxx :-)
got all of them now..so can`t be the `em`s :-(
hi Une
even the first em7?
em7 to send message via internet
whats the ending on that then zooz?
i can't get it to take that
of course - I have limited time today, and we get a big grid. le sigh. Morning all
Zooz - but you can't enter that into babble can you? just into Lickety
hey you are right..you cannot enter it into the grid..but you can on expert..so that has got to be it.
so can i say what the word is then?.
phew!!
wolvie, ignore the first em7 in lickety
we found it..well done everyone.
Lickety used a more recent version of Enable than DrG used for babble which is why Lickety sometimes has extra words
if I get there, I will. ;-)
hi Wolvie
so please clue me in on what the word is, I just got here
and hello
hi all
em7 clue is send a message via internet...well the clue that is not should i say..LOL
well that's what I mean - what should the clue be? I am confused - i signed on as you guys were chatting about this- Help! :-)
Morning all, I have finally changed my icon....
I dont like big grids
hi all
hi red and sue
Wolvie there is 2 em7's listed on lickety but there should only be one - em**led is not accepted by babble
Hi Red, Sue
but my icon seems to not want to change.
I got that, I was just looking for a clue for the em's that are there. :-)
hello lynnx, sue. Wolvi!
good afternoon all
tyr and refreah or reload Red.
hi Sprite!!!
hello sprite.
hello all again
try*
morning Sue.
hi sprite
this must be a time all get going on this monster
the first 200 are a breeze
lol
speak for yourself Jac..lol
back btw and hello everybody i missed was dressing a ham
and even your favorite word is here Sprite
which is now the best dressed ham in Scotland, of course
this se***s like a me 5/12. lol
jac..one of the em7 clue is to be ignored.
can't be, lyn, only one i! But I think which one you me4, the ocean one?
lol nothing but the best for my hams lol, dior et al
the very first one zooz
ty zoo
jacq's ham wore prada!
yes the very first one.
yes Sprite
it's anewbie for me, smoked ham, not my favourite but a nice honey and mustard glaze should sort it
thanks lyn :)
ooh that sounds very tasty..yum
gawd, it looks like rain again and i have just stripped all the beds!!!
I love smoked salmon.
cries
smoked salmon with cream cheese MMMMM
beautiful sunshine here jac
you'd have had more fun if you had left the beds and stripped yourself, possibly
maybe but the neighbours might object LOL
Sprite!!..vivd imagination.
cloudy here but it was lovely this morning i have duvets on the line too
vivid*..can`t type today.
:)
had not even noticed that missing i, lol
brb
yaaay half way!
good going red
wtg red
go red, go red
lol red, your icon is for yesterday and today... though for today it is a bit too obvious maybe ;)
No, for some reason my icon wont change.
what are you seeing?
froggie
the frog word is in today's grid
per se
Oh good, it finally changed...
I like it :) You couldn't possibly have known yesterday how well your icon would fit for today!
I just changed it this morning...
I still see the wine label
Oh no, today is not wine lables?
today is clue for the grid oh well, it does go for today too then!
I don't know what icon day is anymore. ;-)
exactly, lol, that was what I was saying :)
ah yes - icon friday
ah well
Wolvie, you can always check my profile for the themes :P it is a friday, so icon clue day.
i dont even know what day it is, I just know I should be getting an oil change.
lol
Sprite kindly took on the responsibilty of Theme Queen
pfew I SO know that feeling. *hugs red* You are a marvel of flexibility.
and made a bad job of it for the last few weeks. But back to daily changes again :)
okay - I will try next week to be good. ;-)
going away this weekend, so will start fresh on monday
didn't inconvenience anyone Sprite as you have all the future ones listed
Wolvie, it is not an obligation. But it is great if you share fitting icons and much appreciated by the babblers who follow and/or watch the themes.
I got a few emails with new suggestions, will get to those this weekend, I think. Babblers are very creative people!
I remember sprite - where do you think my blue icon came from? ;-)
hehehe, it is a lovely one!
Hello, sprite, lyn, and Wolvie
hi BabbleRabble, nice to see you
How goes it, H?
BR, morning, how is the Hammock?
Hi BR - how are you today?
morning BabRab
beautiful icon again, BabbleRabble.
well, I have a tingling on the outside of the one of my inner toes while in walking shoes
is that a good or a bad thing?
LOL - better a tingle than none I suppose
I'd say, unless you enjoy the tingling, remove the walking shoes then.
I love it! all different reactions
*grin*
I think it could be a good thing or a bad thing
uh huh - that would be consistent. :-)
it may be a terrific day, if that tingling is the most noticeable thing!
so how many of the words today are re's - about 200? I have been avoiding the r's
no idea yet, sorry.
as you know, generally, I am never ambivalent, unless I am

Expert is free. Expert is software written by Lickety, puts everything onto one page, lots of lovely features
expert is free, Lickety made it for us babblers without any personal gain.

phantom: poodle-faker
huh?
who'd want a poodle-faker anyway? I want a real poodle or nothing at all!
A man who habitually chooses to socialise with women.
However withered an old trot she might be, she’d be an odd female if she was altogether impervious to Flashy’s manly bearing and cavalry whiskers. ... Still, as I turned in that night I wasn’t absolutely looking forward to poodle-faking her in two days’ time.
so what does that make a woman who habitually chooses to socialize with men?
still baffled, there isn't a p in the grid
my former best friend??
I've tried twice to read that book - can onl get to about page 50
and that book is?
what book is that lynxxx?
My phantoms are conjured from delusions ...

Hello lynxx - you're here later than usual?
bye jmc
Flashman in the Great Game, by George Macdonald Fraser, 1975
Hazel! I am an author at last of dubious fame.
You like being a published author?
Hazel..Yes I do. I hope the book sells well. Of course anyone that follows my instructions will be in an institution immediately.
Remember that commission agreement we thrashed out?
what is the name of the book Annie and where can I get it?
Nono, please refer to Haz's profile.
You see? I knew people would want to read anything you have written.
clues for the 8s plz
MM, your reaction to the death of Sir Bobby Robson?
Commission, oh yes..commission. Nono will be the only one.
lol Haz - fun stuff!
Haz knows my strong points.
ahhhh a list of must reads for sure
lynxx - I don't know whether Lori has seen hers yet!
Goodnight everyone. as Haz said I am here too late
Very sad news Haz, one of Football's most respected managers and personalities
night, lynxxxie, sweet dreams
nite nite Lynxxx
Agreed, MM - some of the obituaries and stories are very touching, he was a real gentleman.
Goodnight lynxxx, sleep well - always good to see you.
loss of a legend, he could teach new managers a thing or two
be well, lyn
Absolutely, jacq, he will be missed.
I only wish Chelsea could have made use of his managerial skills
Apparently Jose was his translator at Porto.
i wonder why melba is not accepted
clues for the 8s plz
MM, if you click on my profile, you'll get an example of ey8/50.
en8 - provokes to fiery fury?
he8 - compound word, extend what sits on your shoulders with males.
i don't understand why the past tense of that isn't accepted
good morning.. nice time to check in (and get clues for 8's, which are some of my favorite clues)
headman
bugger
Good morning Dorens.
ty Haz, great clues
none of those are in the grid MM
You're welcome, Nono.
Hello, Dorens.
and i am in the grid as well
Hi Dorens
jacq - the past tense would need another e in the grid.
ta haz
yes you are Dor :)
You're welcome, MM.
true LOL
didn't count the e's
ey/7?
first one?
for the new arrivals, there is an extra em7 in the list, the very first em is to be ignored
ey7 - worthy of looking at
ty, i will look
ty haz
jacq---I have 7 em's and I have a word for all of them
You're welcome.
but you do not have two em 7s like the list shows
ty haz
BR, I have 2 em 7.36
and I have words for them
are you using expert?
yes, jacq
expert allows the electronic messages, normal doesn't
okay, thanks for clearing that up
BR, the first em7 was an error, MRP told us last night
yw, was passing on our findings from earlier to save confusion
clue for the first em 7
jacq has kindly volunteered to spend the next 15 hours telling everyone that the first em7 only exists in Lickety's list.
boo...I em***** you. Please answer as soon as you can
there is only one em7 in the grid, the first one, listed in lickety, is not in the grid, ignore it
Well done, jacq, you've qualified for Helpful Babbler of the day!
Look at lickety's list. It says, 7-letter : 14 532 pts The word stats shows 13 -- the first em 7 is not in the grid
it is in the grid but not on the grid list only on lickety's list
ty
lol, sorry, had not been reading the chat
lickety's list has 292 words; the grid has 291
May I please have a clue for the top corner N...need it for NBT! Thank you!
Got 1! NM!

clue for em 4/8
Heya, Aloy!
Hi Aloy
em plus the initials of Old Blue Ey4, popular singer.
Hello Aloy.
em4: what's the frequency, Kenneth?
repairman here, be back later
that em4 word was removed from the Scrabble dict. a while back.. can't use it in a game
See you later, Annie.
I wonder why they removed it?
no clue, Haz..
It's a nuisance when you've gone to the trouble of remembering it.
I think because it's a... whatchamacallit - each letter stands for a separate word.
h'mm, could be Judi
acronym.. is that it?
The one.
took a while, lol.. sips more coffee
does anyone have a clue for ma6/33 please?
ma - undernourished
It looks like m plus the past tense of the shortened name of the King who burnt the cakes.
not there yet, flosey.. sorry
Or, you could just say someone who doesn't eat well (because he burnt the cakes)
.. burnt the cakes.. thinking..
Yes! Acronym. I just plotzed on that word. And I haven't even had any margaritas yet.
hmmm, didn't know a king burnt a cake
old english king

clue for first em 7 please
I'm desperately trying to think of other examples of the name.
there is no em7 Nancy it's a mistake

Hiya, Crossy, FM, et al.
how are we all? tgif!
Greetings Aloy! very tigf EvaN :D
lol eve,my work week STARTS on friday:(
Hi Aloy! (and everyon else). Coming to you from a motel room - today's the big day. Just hopped on to copy the grid and clues so I can pursue the words during the day. Gotta go, bye!
The king was on the run and disguised himself as a peasant. He sought shelter with a poor family as refuge, the lady of the house left him with instructions to watch the cakes in the oven. He had no clue about cookery, was neglectful and let them burn. She told him off very crossly, not realising that she was telling off the king.
.. and hi to crossy and Eva and .. broll!!! Hi.. so happy for you all.. how's the weather up there?
I've probably got some historical details wildly wrong, but you get the gist.
brolls big day? Whats happening?
you got it right Haz
sounds about right Haz.
her son is getting married, FM.. (-:

fm;))) ((()))
You're welcome, Aloy.
Am diving in and getting this grid started.
Enjoy!
go FM, go!
just read back, thanks Haz for explaining the burnt cakes
so, what happened to the woman?
History draws a veil over her. It's one of these stories that gets told in primary school, or at least used to be.
the story reminds me of "the Emperor's New Clothes"
And the moral of the story is, don't let kings in your kitchen.
Exactly.
here is EVERYTHING on alfred the great and the cakes;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_th e_Great
yay for the internet.. ty crossy!
god bless goggle
I must look at it to see if the woman is named.

my sister calls this game "Boggle".. she asks, "have you Boggled yet?"
Crossy is speaking Canadian again.

well babble does make the mind boggle on a regular basis.
godd da eh im bob and this is my brother doug.say hi doug godd day you hosers eh?:
am imagining someone sprinkling insects on a dog or cat
I know. The be6 brings to mind a plot to induce itching to prevent sleeping dogs from lying.
struggling to think when I would ever use that word, lol
In that case, someone should begold or bediamond me.
And of course, we have backing singers for Mr Stewart (Maggie May) - ro7/36
yes, I could stand to be becashed
If Ata was here, she could be "besmugged".
Absolutely.
And I wanna be 'bemovied'

welcome, donnie!
donnie, it's entirely normal.
not to worry donnie,we all do that at the start but once the addiction sets in we just deny it all
helo donnie, it is highly addictive, comes with a warning that abble will seriously impare your housework
The first three years are the worst, after that you begin to get some perspective.
lol Haz
wait till you make yourself late for a wedding or funeral because of babble
lol
we have one today i think who is bringing babble to her sons wedding;)
...or pay outrageous internet fees on a cruise so you can finish a grid..

I made up babble grids for myself on holiday.
I guarantee, broll will be babbling at her son's wedding.. (-:

Something like 'My hatred of modern films'
Good one!!!!!

>>>>>>>>pb for donnie
ty donnie now off to the pb with you
Is a fine example of a foreign word that has been assimilated into English.
lol haz,the engish we use is half french anyways
That would be "froglish", Crossy.
or the french is half english or visa versa
Absolutely, English just grabs words from anywhere.
i was not being a spoiler. it was really a mistake in typing, but it turns out it is a word
or spanglish
It's OK donnie, we have all done it from time to time.
you will enjoy the pb, donnie.. FM redecorated it.. hope it has some goodies to munch in it
go pro donnie, then get babble expert and it will happen a lot less
Some of us just speak manglish. We mangle everything.

A little defensive, are we, FM?

careful of those fl6/20. get too near and you will need some burn ba4/7.
Carrot cake sounds good.
Yum Crossy
so, FM... did you find an me7.40?
Would that be carrot cake with creme cheese and bacon frosting, Crossy?
crossy did you hear me about the maple glazed bacon donuts?
me7/40 - me plus an approximation to 'crippled'
ahh no,bacon does not go well with carrot cake, but the b.lt,s before the cake will do us just fine;))
i have indeed T.O
my monkeys did Aloy.
Or me plus an anagram of the bravery awards handed to soldiers.

ey7/44 - put the 'can do' ending onto the seeing thing
Ty, Haz.
lol.. ey7.44 ends the same as the dictionary we all love to hate
You're welcome, Judi.
Ah. Just broke 100. Time for a snort of coffee. BBL.

ey 7 similar meaning to se7

Good evening fellow babblers, from a freezing, wet, miserable Ireland
hiya sood sorry to hear that
Hi West. Its nearly August - its Ireland. Cold - wet - Nothing new there!! lol
Is this grid as hideous as it looks?
it's doable then not lol
I really hate it when I come into the chog, and almost everybody goes quiet.......I don't feel paranoid, but I do feel that everybody hates me...........
oh not so everyone has gone except me I think
i'm eating chicken bbs
You and me and the chicken-eating Katie, then, West!! :)
lol no one here but us chicken eaters
have you just started sood?
Clue for me 7/40 please.
Could one of you throw an oul' leg or a wing this direction, please...
I don't have that one yet inge and hello
me + hobbled
someone else had that quite a bit earlier
hi all
West - I had a quick peep while I was at work today. But they monitor the internet sites we use in work, so I cant be seen to be on Babble for longer than 5 mins or so.
thanks fitz
Hi, West.thanks Frat
np
work without babble what will they do next?
chicken finished :-)
Ok dog has been mollified. 85 more to find...
yummy katie
soodle, heating on and lights on, a lovely July evening
hi red
I have just lit the fire here...
what was wrong with the dog?
Red - I am having mental images of a mollified dog.... weird!!
Oh he needed a walk. Its 87 out though so I wanted to wait, but there was no waiting to be had...
and we just put in the a/c after a month of cold and rain
Where in the UK are u Katie?
how does he do with thunderstorms?
Soodle, he looks very very satisfied.
I'm in Tamworth in Staffordshire about 16 miles from Birmingham
I like the concept of a molllified dog!!
Day started off ok but got colder and rainier as it went on, all in all I've had a rotten day
Katie, I take it the weather is as bad there as it is here?
ditto
yep I think we get yours about 1/2 day or a day later
West, he seems o not have too much of an issue with them. I think I'm lucky there, occasionally he gets riled up before a storm, especially a big one.
and this is a mean grid, I need cheering up and hoped at 291 words I could do 150 quickly
that is lucky red we had to sedate one of ours he would panic
Oh Katie, I am sending hugs....
Wow West, that would be terrible, I'd be sedating all the time. All in all, he's a fairly mellow dog, only gets excited around other people.
Hey Katie.... How can we make things better for you? Jokes? Hugs? Songs?
we don't have that many so it was lucky
ty red, I've done chocolate and wine so feeling a little better :-s
I do wish Teulu would be better around others but...
anyone have a clue for the n7/32? thx
is he a golden?
sode
oops
fitz those are the people that drive you crazy
And in the neurotic dog stakes - I am claiming the number one spot. I have a Rothweiller here, who is scared of ....everything. Cats, rain, wind, cars, water, suitcases, carpets, vacuum cleaners, hairdriers, toasters, - need I go on?
thx, west :)
just chatting is good thanks soodle, one of my closest friends has been diagnosed with cancer today and I feel so helpless, I just want to hug her (see lives about 150 miles away)
oh no sood
Soodle, you must be a patient parent of that doggie.
so sorry katie she's lucky to have you even if the miles separate you
Katie, see if you can sign up your friend for Chemoangels.com its a great support, and even though its American they do do overseas patients.
And the funny thing is , people who call to our house, and don't know him, are absolutely PETRIFIED of him. He looks the part....he walks the walk, he talks the talk, but, God help him - he is a phoney!!!
so sorry Katie...horrible
what's the name of your pussy cat dog sood?
ty west. She is being so brave she sees the Cancer nurse on Monday. People always complain about the NHS but they have gone from first mamogram to diagnosis within 3 weeks with treatment starting next week so couldn't have better care
I'll try that thanks red
Oh Katie. All you can do is focus on the positive with your friend. She needs all the help/support/encouragement/ jollying she can get. She is in for a tough ride, but (like todays grid) its do-able!! And you just have to reaffirm that with her. I speak from personal painful experience!
that's good katie sounds like she's in good hands
I know when she phone to tell me I was very practical and supportive and then cried for an hour when I got off the phone
And West - the Pussy Dog is called King. Kingo when he is being good, and 'that feckin' animal' when he's his usual naughty self
I think I like him already
The strange thing is that she went for the same medical checkup as I did through work the only thing is I signed up for it and she didn't. They do say that God works in mysterious ways!
so true katie but now the healing can begin
I love the sound of pussy dog, I love slightly strange/stupid animals (that's why crumble is my favourite but don't tell the others)
I would guess that there is nobody here on tonighs chog that hasn't been personally affected by the curse of cancer. What an insidious disease
crumble is so thick that if we let her out the front door she doesn't realise that she can climb the fence and get in through the cat flap! I think she thinks it is a different house lol
And my spelling of the word 'insideous' should indicate why Soodlebum's rating is still teenchy!! LOL
I have had friends and relatives that have been diagnosed with cancer but I'm sure I can't imagine what it would be like
I know soodle I have been very luck up till now *now working that I didn't notice insideous was spelt wrong are kitt and crumble close in intelligence than first thought!!*
lol katie our KC is like that but he's my fluffy boy
She was telling her 3 children and said that it was the worst part, even thought they are adults they are still her babies
West - you have probably read the line in books 'I felt as if I was hit in the stomach with a sledgehammer'. Well - try and imagine what that ACTUALLY feels like. A wham of a sledgehammer to the stomach. And thats only the start. Not a happy place.
And it goes DOWN from there............
I can feel it now sood but you got through it and Katie's friend will too
Exactly West. Postive Mental Attitude has got a lot of bad press, but it is hugely important!!!
Hey....so what happened the jokes and songs?????
just not 'Singing in the Rain' okay?
Gray skies are going to clear up....
it is breast cancer and the treatment has come on so much in the last few years so I'm being very positive, now on the subject of songs I am never here when Ata is and JB has recorded 'I made it through the rain' and need to have a serious discussion with her!!
that's a good one red !
a friend at work is trying to choose his first dance song and is seriously considering it as a laugh, me thinks his future wife will have a say on this one
Is 'always look at the bright side of life' pushing it a bit, do you think?
kinda lol
trying West. Though it appears to be graying up here a bit.
I wish my grid was getting more gray!!!!
me too
I'm standing still at 87 to go guess I should go to the list
OMG! I completely forgot about finding words in that big yellow and green thing to the left....
coming up on the news..'how to use live bait to make that really big catch'
must be a slow news day lol
Ooooh West - How I would like to write the alternative story.... the possibilities are endless....
we still have 8 hours sood
lol
you won't get me touching live bait
I get my catch at the fish market
Hmmm. Live Bait!! Big Catch!!! Ooooh..... I love it!! Probably wouldnt be fit for broadcasting on daytime TV!!
anything goes with us yanks
oh now we have to wait to find out what was on the other end..
Well, anything the yanks can do, the Paddies will follow!!!! ( would love to say the Paddies could do better, but I am being realistic here)
I think there are more of you here in Boston
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-94JhL EiN0 to cheer everyone up :-)
thanks katie going to it now
clue for em 4/8
West - I defy anybody to tell me about a city/town/resort which hasn't been invaded by the Paddies, and where there isn't the ubiquitous Oirish Bar!!
the Halloween II ????
we sure have them here isn't Boston considered the western most county in Ireland?
Much as I am enjoying the chog - I gotta go. Katie - I will be thinking of you and your friend, and my very best wishes to her (and you). West - What can I say? Up The Paddies!!!! (begob and begorrah) Good night all!
funny West.
thank you soodle, begob begorrah to you too lol
To be sure to be sure
good night sood and a special pat on the head for King
LMAO
hugs king and wishes soodle a great sleep!
Katie did you mean to post Halloween II ?

there's another one too mkg and that's the plural
make sure you get the EiN0 as it missed off my first one
getting it now it's great!!
more of the ab????dont get it.

i have an em7/36 that's a plural
in lickety there is email, it is not accepted as a word by enable.
Emerods em7/36: n. pl. [OF. emmeroides. See Hemorrhoids.] Hemorrhoids; piles; tumors; boils. [R.] --Deut. xxviii. 27.
no, it's the 1st one on the list that isn't in the grid
lmj, we don't put grid words in the chat . . .

Hi Stid
how's life for everyone?
i do not have expert
how many se6' do you have?
I am fine thanks Stid, how are you?.
you can still do it -- at the bottom of the lickety page there are boxes that let you do bulk grab and add...
I am okay zoom, thanks. tired. glad it's 20 degrees cooler than a couple days ago!
are you kidding:? how do yo get them into babble?
ey 7 / 36?
TO- there are 11 se words

WTG TO !
Bye Stid
Hi all! Oh no, large grid and I cannot even begin tonight...
I dont know how TO- I use Expert
Hi SG
Like your photo DR!
hi dr!
stid seems to believe there is a way. i followed the instructions but they don't say and you cannot paste fron clipboard into the box
Thanks Science- it is how I feel today
Hi Red!
all right i am out of here
Owl, copy your list from here, then paste in add box on lickety
Bye TO CYA later
phae: stid advised there is a way to do the opposite
that is what i amj aksing : if anyone can give me the last step in that process
that's the way i do it
i can't get the list from lickety to come here, have tried
phae: i am trying to get words fronm lickety's LIST 9not EPXERT) into babble
if you finished on lickety, i think it still counts
TO..before i had expert..the only way i could do it if i put it into lickety first ..was to keep checking on `my word list` a bit tiresome, but as you knew it was like s06 say..then it would not be too many to go through. :-)
i know, if you finish on expert, then refresh here it finishes the list here
fe 6/30?

how's the weather, lbd? we need rain, can you se** some to the Twin Cities soon (we are 14" behind normal); do NOT se** it to northern MN
oh no, min, don't give up!
He was supposed to, LBD -- if he didn't then the trip won't provide any High school credit. We'll see...
jmc - true! Someone sent me an email the other day with various sayings in it. One of which was, 'By the time a daughter knows her mother was right, she has a daughter of her own who thinks she is 'WRONG!'
oh wow, stid, that's pretty incredible!
LOL Jac! that's only too true
we haven't had rain, Nef. just cooler weather, which appears to be leaving us...forecast for tomorrow is 95!
yes dorens -- and pretty expensive. we'll be paying this off for a whle.
It sure is, Stid.
but i'm sure it's well worth it stid
we were down into the 80s (normal) today LBD -- hopefully the hot won't last long for you
I always liked Mark Twains remark about how ignorant his father was when he was 18 and how much smarter his faither grew every year thereafter
I think so, Dorens. we had help paying for it from cousins and grandparents
the life experience is priceless, stid
hac, i already have a daughter who thought i was wrong, has decided i was right, and I STILL think MY mother is wrong
LOL, jmc.
*father

We could use rain, but some of the places got rain with lightning which sparked fires in all the tinder-dry grasses and trees

tired and lysdexic tonight. Not a good combo here
I'm going to wander off to bed soon. Only stayed up 'cos Step had got up from an early to bed night to play on the WII with her Dad and then decided to watch a film. I wanted to be around in case she needed to talk, since she'd been asking questions and then trying to fill in the blanks herself earlier about how me and her Dad met on the internet. In the end I had to tell her that I didn't want to give her the details because I thought she'd been through enough for the moment and didn't needto hearmore home truths about her mother.
ah, don't envy you jac.. rough going there.
hang in there jac
She's still trying to assimilate what's already happened without hearing more truths.
jmc - Am doing.
and how old is she?
its good you can be honest with her and still not dump it all on her at once
Jac - dont know your story, but I feel for you! I have an angry teenager son..
I used to do that with my son -- some times just say I am not ready to answer that question ask me again later
teenagers can be hard enough when they are your own, but steps are a whole nother story
I have steps too. And one is crazy.....
