Husband once took part in a local series about his veterinary practice. He got weary of having to drive the car for them to get a shot of him approaching the farm, and of being asked to do some part of an operation 'again, we didn't get a good shot.'

I watched a new show last night (well new for Aust) with Kirsty from Relocation, Relocation. Showed her parents house - if I was to get rich I would buy that house complete with furnishings, beautiful!

It didn't get very good reviews over here - I haven't watched it myself so can't comment other than to say that critics felt the whole idea of people making their own stained glass was a bit unrealistic. It would still be more interesting than watching people picking up dog poo.

My daughter in Edinburgh was very pleased with herself, She had saved the leather from a much loved pair of boots and eventually found someone who was able to make a bespoke handbag using it and some buttons and bits and pieces she had squirreled away. She's thrilled with it and so triumphant that she hadn't listened to me and thrown out the boots.
when we moved in here, that was to be my work room, Jules's files and paperwork and computer etc have crept in, one of the few things about my "flatmate" that annoys me

Yes, it's the one who graduated in July. She's got a job in Edinburgh now although I can't see it being a job for life - and I think she'd go crazy if she thought she'd never get something better.
However, it's a job and better than nothing. She'd like to stay in Edinburgh, but will have to be prepared to adapt to whatever the job market is offering.
i try to give her the hint especially when i am making a quilt to put her stuff somewhere else

I have come across some articles recently that talked about making science more interesting to non-scientists by changing the way the papers are written
I think there are 2 types of scientific paper. And this is what scientists work towards - you write a few scientific papers in obscure journals, and then write a popular science version for something like Sci American or Nature or the newspapers
Science Today has articles I sometimes understand .. I think

seain, tell him he is only supposed to resist painkillers if he just had a baby and is nursing. Otherwise, the pain meds will help him relax and heal quicker.

(You can't DO stuff at all) You want to keep the pain less than 4-5
for him, 7 is distractible, but his usual levels would be a 3 to most people, i'm sure, so his view is skewed

0.75 C fine chopped onion, 3 cloves garil minced, 1/8 C hot peppers, chopped an mostly seeded, 6 fresh tomatoes, rough chopped. Brief saute of onion/garlic/peppers, add tomatoes, cook until tomato caramelizes. Deglaze with juice of one lemon, let cook more. Add 1 C pasta water, toss with pasta and 1/2 C grated cheese.
