ty- the list has helped me A LOT
it's not a race jilli...that's why I like this place...do it at your own pace...
justy, as usual, it's vowels I need -- the top E and O, and the I in the middle.
I think we just get caught up in "those" who feel the need to finish asap
yes- it is not a race
hello

absolutely not a race

I'll have to turn in soon, nbt-less :(
'nbt'?
no blank tiles
told you I'd help you jilli if you're wanting
I'm staying just until the burp..then I be gone
well, I did say I need something for the top E and O, and the middle I
top e ....eg4.....thy self?
Jilli, the other top e - e + my *** sal
ty, justy, got that
il4/9 a holly
top o....the oo** and aahs one hear in the crowd of admirers!
top o 4/6: o + command for a horse
so there's a plural of that and and gerund too
oh 4/5 - like the state, but change the last vowel
Oh, gee whiz, I should have seen that!
and the middle i is: a four letter word for anger
Could I get a clue for the xy?
and a heavy metal
(the og is actually an architectural molding)
x plus sometimes vowel plus eating off the la** drop last cons
xy 5 = xy + folk singer Bob Dy***
great clue rbud
Thanks, rbud & just1mar - got it - now nbt + bedtime!
I had to think about it for a few minutes, lol
yw and nite nite buff

hi mari
goodmorning all had a senior moment :)
what did you do mari?
went for a 2 letter word about my level today !!
know what you mean - why is it when you've got loads of time the words always jump out at you and when you haven't they stay stubbornly hidden
They stay stubbornly hidden from me most of the time! Morning, all.
morning hydra
Good to meet you, nursegladys. Haven't seen you on here before. I don't think I've met you either, Mari. Hello!
fireworks
don't usually chat much tend to lurk a lot!!
Pouring with rain in West London. What's it like where you are? My sister is organising the Original Mountain Marathon race in Wales this weekend. It always rains for that!
Anike, congrats!!
TY hydra
Phantom word: Ex-lax!
pouring with rain here in leeds as well
wtg anike
not raining in Kent :)
dry at the moment in Tamworth
yay, anike!!!
You're lucky then! Hope it stays that way.
Hi Ata. Good morning.
myself, down to 100, good place to quit for the night, can see I may have to list tomorrow. Night, all!
Ty all. I gotta go. Happy babbling
rbud, you're doing brilliantly. I have 187 left. Bye, anike.
*yawn* and hi!
I've been awake since ten to five. I'm yawning too. Must get some toast now. See you later.
bye hydra
hi ata
poxy really should be allowed!
i quite agree
as in this is a poxy grid. tada!
it certainly looks it. Hello all
hi lynxxx
hi lyn! hi stew!
How are you feeling Ata?
I was feeling much better up until yesterday, and now I'm feeling worse again, just in time for the weekend. Typical!!
phantom: calyx
and seraglio
Take care won't you
I will I will :)
phantom: jocoserious
hi BabRab
Hello, lyn
adj. - a combination of funny and serious
nice pic, BR
Hope you are better expeditiously, Ata
me too!
illness so bogs one down
lmao yes
hmmm. no po*y, but you can gerund it
G'd morning Babblers!
good morning Lori
Good morning/evening from me, as well.
This looks like an ecclectic arrangement of letters. Oy
hi Haz!
Good day, Lori and Haz
Hazaurus! G'd mornin' :) Lynx, BR
hi Haz! hi Lorikins!
Mata Hari! ***hands Ata rum laced cup of tea for medicinal purposes***
It's OK when you get into it. Mind you I only have 33%
yay ty!
I have 102 hard fought for words
***Also yells at FM to stop working and come out to play***
That's not encouraging my DENSA mind.... I keep staring at these letters, then the word total with complete disbelief.
she's boooooring
I'm impressed with the late alphabet letters' ability to appear together so often.
lolol, fine line between dedication and boring, no?
She's maybe packing. No excuse, I grant you, but it's what she'll say.
Im just making some toast if that is OK with you guys??
No excuse indeed!
Hooray! That boring thing must have hit home.
morning FM
and good morning to you too :)
Good day, FM
back in a mo
So, now we're all here, which world problem do we solve this morning? Or are we still bogged down in mosses and lichen?
heh heh heh ***whaps FM with a body length sleeping pillow*** Mornin'!
Toast is so boring. Make strawberry crepes.
Toast is very comforting.
I found a bog near you, you'll be pleased to know
lichen, heck I don't even know him.
I'm ecstatic! Where is this place of wonderment?
Coming soon to a bog near you.... There's a sentence you don't read every day.
ummm ... can't remember LOL
***wonders if FM is toasting the entire loaf***
I've found no peat-cutters among the ancestors so far, but I'll keep digging.
Burnt the first batch thanks to you guys had to do 2 more slices.
poxy is too a word!
FM blaming us? This can't be right.
***snickers at FM's inability to make toast***
Makes a change doesn't it :)
well...you might need an e with that
Slieveanorra I think, or similar spelling
and Maghera
I shall google it.
when I say near, I mean comparatively near, not on your doorstep!
I spelt it with the e, but minus the e should work too. **My story, and I'm sticking to it*** :)
8 too!
Just to forewarn you I can't stop for too long this morning am meeting up with a friend who flew in from Washington yesterday - just waiting for a phone call from him.
It's up the road towards the coast.
now you and Spangle can go bog hopping :)
Have you worked your way back to Cain and Abel Hazaurus, or not quite that far yet?
we knew our place in your priorities
You mean someone coming from Washington takes precedence over us? Your babble buddies?
BBS dinner is served
Since when does real life override Babble??? <-------
I'm hurt. Does this man make you laugh? Does this man give you clues? Does this man blame you for everything?
Enjoy yer din din Lynx.
what can I say? It's nothing personal.
such fickleness
That's what the F stands for.
he's no doubt some secret operative. Everybody from Washington is you know.
lol he is flying to Africa this afternoon so I shan't abandon you for too long.
We're cast aside, just because of some man.
Flying to Africa as well? This is a man with a well-stamped passport.
who is not even sticking around
A drive by. So, so, so sad.
He's probably called Fickle as well.
Ata, does your research include the bog bodies?
LOL
unfortunately, no. that would be interesting!
We'll be left to pick up the pieces once that fly-by-night has flown by.
bet he won't come back with tales of Barack Obama
Just as long as FM doesn't wail about missing him so much.
I'm sure a phone call would be adequate. The lack of prioritizing blows me away.
bet she will. Just to make us feel even more unloved
No, he hardly has the connections to breakfast with the Obamas.
LOL just choked on my toast.
The keening and the wailing, oh my, the therapy bill alone will be huge.
Ignore her, she's just trying to get sympathy and divert attention.
see what happens when you invite strange American men over!
Missing him AND choking. There's only so much sympathy we can give.
So glad to hae lightened your morning, Im sure you can work this one for hours!!
days!
is this the latest episode of Days of Our Lives?
is this the latest episode of Days of Our Lives?
at least
pretty much :)
This is the latest episode of FM's Day of her Life.
I say we can get years out of this Ata Hari.
Well on that note I shall love and leave you and go and get dressed!
Except that it won't be because the rat is flying in and flying out again leaving her dangling.
What are you going to wear, FM?
I hasten to say he is happily and newly married
Good Lord, and she was nekkid this whole time.
does FM only get one Day of her Life?
have a wonderful day, dearest!
Clothes Haz - find they work best :)
Yes, but what look are you going for?
Enjoy your reality, if you must.
Femme fatale or Frisky Female?
This is much more interesting than reading what my fellow Americans write here
a clothed look, apparently
A small hint of trollop possibly?
we aim to please
Trollope's heroines were always well dressed.
hard to wear an author
LOL twit - nothing special, prob jeans and I don't know - anyway I will go and investigate the wardropbe as I must get some shopping done too. ((())) *poof*
You'd have a Dickens of a job....
bet he has Great Expectations
***Have fun FM*** :D
Bye FM - have fun!
And say hello to him from us. You'll find it easy to explain what we're like and who we are.
Now, she's Gone With the Wind
Also, tell him we know where he lives, just to keep him on his toes.
...and a belated G'd morning lawyer
Well, now that we've sent FM to the drugs cupboard for a wee sedative, who'll we talk about now?
Oh Haz, I have something for you.
Excellent - do tell!
Last week, I almost cleaned the living room, but then had a stroke of brilliance. We painted everything, avoiding cleaning, and now I think I shall not have to clean it for like years..
Brilliant, no?
That's spectacular. I wouldn't have credited you with such el4/4.
The ebst part, is that the roof leaks and there was a water stain on the ceiling.
So naturally, rather than fixing the roof, we painted. :)
My genius knows no bounds.
so
There are some poor saps who would repair the roof and redo the ceiling at huge expense. Fools!
Only suckers would do that Haz.
Lori is far too inventive
Are you going to write a book about your methods? You need to share your wisdom with the world as a money saving device.
I think you need a bit of 'give' in the roof for ventilation.
That's the problem with people today, not enough fresh air.
It has potential. Sometimes people over work a problem, when simple solutions will do.
Absolutely.
Did you do the painting yourself or were the children given a home project to do in their spare time?
For example, the carpet needed cleaning. Well, I didn't stand for that. We ripped it up and threw it to the curb. Another problem solved.
morning all
Mornin' Fish.
Good morning Fish.
I'm going to go too ... still feeling fluey and bleh, adn husband has finally got up so I can go back to sleep without elephant trumpeting next to me
Oh no, the children slaved away. I just sat on the couch and gave firm management.
Poor Ata! Hope you feel better soon.
Sleep tight Ata Hari, feel better soon.
me too! getting bored of this!!
It is 2 degrees (F) here when i got up at 4. Very depressing.
I hope you didn't bother with ladders or anything. Standing on each other's shoulders will have counted towards their physical education.
Oops, CELSIUS
Ladders? Certainly not. How else will they ebcome Cirque de Soleil members if they don't start early?
Did they master the balancing on a unicycle as well?
Not quite, but installing the new ceiling fixture whilst on the unicycle should hone that skill.
We must tell Vicuna about this, she's fond of incorporating her Twins of Glory into household tasks as well. They've got the abseiling window-cleaning down to a fine art.
What's the new ceiling fixture? A strategically placed bucket in case the roof gives in too much ventilation?
How did you know? The silent drip/splash feature was the most difficult aspect.
It's now a faux water feature. Clever.
Sponge in the bottom of the bucket is okay for early drips, I suppose, but after that? Turning up the volume of the TV should do the trick, shouldn't it?
I'm simply being environmentally friendly, collecting rain water.
I can see the Ozone layer repairing itself as we speak.
Man, this grid is NOT flowing as freely as my water feature. This will be a grind.
I'm getting a few words here and there but it isn't flowing freely here either.
Now that FM's gone, who do we blame for this state of affairs?
Granted, chat distracts me, but honestly this is like pulling hens teeth.
Her lack of presence does not save her bacon. This is all her fault.
I think she knows it but finds the guilt too much to bear. That's why she makes up stories about meeting people in transit to Africa.
I mean, does she think we're gullible or something
She must. I don't believe half of what she says. For exampl the convenient phone calls when she's caught doing something. I wasn't born yesterday
hello
Hello iblues.
Mornin' iblues
g'day all
Good evening grannyrose.
Whying is not a word. Try telling that to a curious toddler.
can chog a wh5.anyone need a hand?
I'm okay, granny, still on the first run through, although it's more like a sedate walk.
G'd evening granny. I'm too early in to panic yet. That comes later... :)
I think Haz meant dignified sedate walk. :p
Dignity is all.
* grin * you got that right. very tough going, this grid
I'm crawling, not unlike an toddler looking for unhealthily old food to put in their mouth.
You're supposed to be all upbeat, granny, and tell us it gets easier.
Feel free to fake it granny, and say that the toughest part was the beginning.
I can visualise said toddler holding up old food and asking 'Why?'
after my first run through, i STILL had over 60 to go!
I can definitely visualize that Haz.
Wrll, you're just a ray of sunshine, aren't you granny. :p
The key is for mothers to explain that it's part of an ageing of food trial.
Taking five to let daughter onto computer. Honestly, sometimes my motherly generosity knows no bounds. Back in a few...
lol, not bragging at all....just there's a lot of unexpected twisty words in this one
I know my kids had their peck of dirt to kick start their immune systems. #4 was especially adept at finding aged edibles.
Laters Haz. Make sure you set the timer.
that's a hint......
words i didn't even know that had a gerund ending.....and as for the 'y'...........
Yes, I suspect that trying the gerund on all finds might be a good strategy. ***sigh***
I'm also adding y to everything, just in case.
Even as I said that, tried ni 4/11. seriously now...
have had the most beautiful spring day here. friend came around, helped me to plant out a few of my plants. it's not easy to garden from a wheelchair.
Yes, you've had a long haul. Any light at the end of the tunnel granny?
another 4 weeks, lori. am into hydrotherapy, sees to help
Well, good things to ya', anything that helps is, well, helpful! :)
grrrr, * seems * this keyboard needs a fl6 lesson
i plan on walking into my next review appointment....AND I WILL DO IT!!!!
Good for you granny.
have to admit, i am kinda frightened of walking, if i jar the bones before they are fused, .....nah, don't want to think about that
Fear is natural, long as you're in charge of it, and not the other way around, you're all set.
* smiling at you * thanx lori.
: )
anyway, now have planters full of kalanchois all set out reay for summer. just love them and the pigface is flowering profusely. i do so looove spring. the forget-me-nots and nasturtiums have taken over, the roses are blooming...
Sounds beautiful Granny :) Hello
geranuims and pellagoniums, queen's tears, everything has come into flower
hi liz
how're you getting on Granny?
trying to create monet's garden with an australian/english flavour
getting better every week, liz, i didn't realise it would take 13 weeks ( and then some ) to get over this
how are things over there, liz?
Its a long process but you'll get there and then it'll all be just a memory :)

Lots of things. He got me lunch then we went out i had to do this survey thing then we went to the city and he bought me 4 cds and 4 dvds (2 box sets) and last night he bought home Sims 3 and Lily ALlen
We went out to our favourite cafe that takes forever to get anything done but its wonderful and warm and friendly
and for dinner we went out to our fav Mexican place.
oh awesome stuff nat... I could imagine you have had a lovely day!! lucky girl!! happy birthday again... (hugs) and *kisses*

Mr Pres I even did the good and right thing of giving a homeless man money to stay in his room for the night
when I am in melbourne, I would like mexican my girl!
oh that is so sweet and right and just what you would do !
Certainly. It is not in Melbourne central though
no
I got paid $45 for a survey. I have been in that guys position when I was 24 exactly (had my own place but had to sleep out friends on weekends)
ah, I do not live in sydney central either... but we have our community duties here too
Mr Pres it was a great day

Hello all!
scrabbs!
never have...seen the films and I saw Lord of the Rings the Musical a couple of years ago
hi cross and scrabs
hey Scrabs, hi crossy :D
definatly take time to read the book kallia
one of the best books ever
hi Scrab, diving back under
the fist of the fantasy genre
I have a copy here somewhere. maybe I will get around to it
first even
am reading the english version with my children. We are almost ready for the 3th part.
I have the book but never read it--intend to though. I have read The Hobbit many times and would love to live in Middle Earth.
the book that started it all ..well the hobbit is the prelude to that
3rd part :)
lol scrabbs i always wanted a hobbit house
oops, sorry, of course! 3rd.
round doors and all
yeah but the hobbit was a children's story. LOTR eclipsed that level.
sorry Sprite :) pedantic me
lol Kallia, not at all, I appreciate corrections!
indeed sprite, but if she has not read lotr, she should start with the hobit
true!
hi all
i read the hobbit with my son when he was 6..hehe :)))
hi TOwl :)
Hi Owl!
hi to
Night. My b.f read LOTR when he was 5
night lady
renight, actually
fireflies! One smooth grid today for sure. Bye all, have fun.
bye sprite and well done
wow! windows 7 is going to need 16 gig of hard drive space!!
hi spritey and wtg! hi scrabs!
some IT guy was saying last night that it really needs 4g of ram and a gaming graphics card to get the most from it
indeed kallia..i have eveything but the 4 gig or ram;/
are you going to change? ram isn't that expensive I think...if your pc will take it of course
the top shel gamig graphics cards are pretty reasonable now..i got my nvidia 8500 gs 768 meg for 99 dollars
yup ,i just ran the win 7 compatability program
the ram will be 100 dollars
thats a good price I guess....but I haven't long had my laptop so I don't think I will be changing from Vista yet, and my PC still has XP
since ill have to toss the dimm stick im using now
PC probably wont take it without a lot of cash
and I really don't have many problems
win 7 is just what vista should of been in the first place
so I believe...
but like all win products probably needs the glitches sorted lol
well i can tell you vista has crippled my computer from running about 80% of my on disk software
cant wait to leave it behind
I have XP on my PC and laptop
really????? Well I don't play many games and have only used photohop and word/excel on my laptop so haven't noticed anything
if you dont game, you wont notice too much, other than drm isues
and my XP computer is still running fine
what is drm?
stay with xp till your ready for win 7 scrabbs, stay away from vista
digital rights management
I am so embarrassed--I was on call overnight and slept through pages and phone calls that I discovered this morning. I awoke with a migraine and am out of it
poor scrabbs;(
My partner ended up being called and I just apologized to him
oh Scrabbs dont be embarrassed.......hope the migrane goes soom
soon...
you must of needed the sleep;)
oh my i hope you feel better soon. i am sure he understood, you can swap days on call'
gotta go shop :( later guys
It was about a kid in the ER--not an emergency, but I cannot believe I could sleep through that.
Bye Kallia
bye kallia
owl, I was describing the bee-sting cake to my friend yesterday and she wants a recipe
ok i do have one. i will send it on
is she conmfortable with yeast dough/pastry? it is time consuming
She is very into cooking/baking
good morning everyone
Hello, flosey
hi flosey
mm,first time ive seen this one in a grid, its our favorite juice from florida :)
well now you have it
except i want a piece!
reading back, what is bee-sting cake?
Hi Flosey + BR
you have mail scrabs
Hello, Scrabbler
hi all
morning jmc
lol speaking of lotr, the area in which hobb iton resides is here also :)) sh 5/12 ;)
hi je
poor scrab I am sorry you are edging on a migraine
hobb iton ?
hobbit town
ty i am not good at tolkien allusions so didn't catch it
np;)
made my coffee this morning without the pot so still haven't had my first cup!
lol, when i used to be a coffee feind,if i had to i was known to boil the perk grounds in a pot and sieve it through a pair of work socks...ahh real camp coffee;))
morning all.... poor scrabs, feel better
hi dorens how was dinner last night
very good thanks. and so was the wine
lol i remember back when the docs used to give us the shuffle with the wifes migraines..caffergot etc, just take it before you get the headache lol..nuts!
lol dorens did it put you to sleep? ;-)
there is rainy wind outside and i'm watching leaves and acorns drop.. so pretty
doren: scrabs has a friend who wants to try the cake recipe!
Hi JM + Doren. i am waiting for caffeine + naproxen to work. In 1 hr I have to be the school doc at the high school football game--I get to stand on the sidelines and take care of injuries.
i thought it would, but i ended up staying up late and watching the doors on tv.. somehow i'd never seen it.
well sometimes with migraines you do get a warning -- halo around things or I would get sorta a vanilla pudding in my headinstead of brains feeling
take a thermos of "coffee" with you scrabs
mm interesting jmc
oh owl, then we need to travel upstate and taste it scrabs, i remember when my exhusband did that as moonlighting when a resident... why do you have to do it.. aren't there any residents around?
then they went with the idea she was abusing over the counter headache meds..that went on for a few years
yes --- premigraine is called an aura.. a well documented entity (ex was a neurologist who specialized in headaches)
then they offered this med that was like 25 dollars a pill...lol
se
my uncle has cluster headaches. there has been times my aunt has had to keep him away from his guns the pain is so severe.
hi everybody I am so happy it is a big grid!
hi inge and eno
ive heard of that TO,im lucky,i get maybe 2 headaches a year..they are so novel to me that when i get one it takes a bit to figure it out
well the good news for me is that i have had only 1 migraine since I turned 50
glad you are happy enomis.. i often want big grids, but today i'm going into the city to meet my daughter for lunch, then facials (!), then back home to a "mystery dinner" with Ken and a bunch of people at his club. will have no time at all~
good stuff
yup j, they are often related to hormones. i got them when pregnant with my third... pretty nasty
I get an aura that lasts 20 minutes about once or twice a month sometimes with a headache and sometimes not. and hi everyone
howdy annie;)
hi anniebrook
good morning Annie
poor Dorens (although facials sound nice) :) I have no plans today so I will have time!
hi annie.. do you take meds when you get the aura?
wow dorens you are really getting feted is it your birthday or something?
my house guest left so there is hope for me
Hi enomis + Annie.
the in tank toilet part for water flow is in here fl 6/33
no dorens..the aura is not painful but it obstructs my vision somewhat.
hey scrabbler
wow doren does he have a brother? 'D
I often get an aura with my migraines--blurry vision on left eye.
nope. i'm fetiing her.. Cause I'm her mom... and it was her birthday last month.. and we like to do things once in a while, this is overdue, it's been years since we have done a facial. and the dinner is just something that is happening at Ken's club and i like mysteries so we are going to try it out (i pushed him when I saw it advertised)
dorens, what a nice fun day.
i went to a hardware store and asked where the fl6s were and the guy looked like i had lost my last mind
mp. but he has three sisters owl, that is supposedly the reason he is so quiet... never got a word in growing up
lol
lol jmc,you should of asked him for a can of steam or a sky hook;)
dorens, who has 3 sisters? Have you 4 children?
i finally found them and showed them to him and said -- next time you will know what it is!
or a bubble for your level;))
ken (my gentleman friend) has three sisters. I have three children. so does he.
my brother was the only male out of five and he talked ALL THE TIME so i think that theory is bogus (no to mention sexist)
It's all in the genes, I think
Yes, I noticed last Saturday that Ken is quiet and reserved.
now crossy i might buy a level with a bubble (cus i am an old fashion girl) but never heard of buying one for my level
oh it absolutely is bogus and sexist.. it is his idea of a joke. but he is awfully quiet. the other thing from having three sisters, though, may be that he treats me, and other women, extremely graciously... they may have taught him that
lol
dorens, he's a keeper
well you can't argue with gracious treatment
oh he was even quieter than usual scrabs... said we all had so much to say (we are a wordy, nerdy bunch) and he didn't want to intrude. and we did have much to say. and yes, he is a keeper!
coffee is ready (again) brb
well he was no doubt overhwlmed by the crowd of beautiful intelligent women LOL
surrounded by a gaggle of women we learn to keep it zipped;))..well for the most pat
It was so much fun to be with smart, nice nerds!
part even
I hope you stay zipped, Cross
allright, so i have one hour to find these 108 words which I doubt really exist
SCRABS!
probably couldnt get a word in edgewise hehe..crossy is cruising...
keep what zipped crossy? does mrs crossy need to come in here?
should go before ra4 begins
Annie, I saw one of my former patients last night, Billy, age 22 with DS. It was a wonderful reunion. He was out with his parents.
shh..dont wake her...
Sorry, Owl, I oculdn't resist
you are bad! :D
Scrabbs, Where? Restaurant, game?
DS?
I am more likely to be naughty if it involves teasing Crossy!
hehe
crossy brings out the naughty;)
Bobby is going to be 44 next month. We want to take him to Union Square Cafe but have to wait until my daughter and family get back from Arizona.
Actually at a sad wake--his parents knew the man that died--father of a patient of mine--54 yr old guy with 11 yr old son and wonderful wife. He had multiple myeloma x 4 yrs--suffered so much.
Yes you do, Crossy!
nice annie... i haven't been there in many years, but it is a great restaurant still, i hear
We also have a wedding November 7 when Bobby gets a chance to wear his tuxedo again. He cant wait.
But there was Billy in the line to speak with the grieving family and give hugs.
So sad.
Hey Beebasmom, good to see you
scrabbs, are you familliar with korsakoff,s syndrome at all?
Well, kids, I must get ready to be the football team physician. I must dress warmly and wear a ra4 poncho.
tc scrabbs hagd
Yes, in alcoholics if I recall--not a pediatric problem.
not a day i'd want to be at a football game, stay warm and dry and hope for no injuries, scrabb
Scrabbs, I hope your headache leaves quickly
have fun scrabs hope your team wins and no one needs your help
k
I also do not want to have a sliding wipe-out at the 50-yard line while running out to care for an injured boy. That would be rather embarrassing.
lol I will wish for that too --- no sliding for scrabs!
feel better scrabs
...I could see my klutzy self doing that trick
scrabs: take an ec6/21 for the road
i can see i will have to resort the list long before 1/2 way on this bear
mmmmm ec6/21
oh, no more of that...i have resolved to become fit again
we could jog around the chog TO!
jumping jacks?
yes, through the ec6 and beesting cakes and bacon
good plan1 ;)
*looks around* yeah it is getting a little crowded in here with the food
maybe next time we remodel the pb we should put in more food storage
someone said bacon.....
yes crossy you need to put your bacon away when you bring it into the chog! *stern mama look since stiddie isn't hear to do it*
hmmm why am i reminded of the beggin strips commercial? ;)
and I will recycle my bourbon bottles!
jmc, FM designed the PB last time..a very fine job indeed
mm bacon and bourbon
better than fig newtons and whiskey
we did have that remodeling a few weeks ago too
move over crossy and share
they are great if you dip the fig newtons;)
there was a remodel? and i missed it?
in the whiskey?
fine wine..1985 burgundies-- pouilly fumé and brie.. preferable to fig newtons and whiskey
yuppers
yes that is when we got cabana boy 2
wait, are we dipping newtons into bacon flavored bourbon now?
there is a time for fine wines and a time for fig newtons and whiskey
you want a good combo? apple pie,a sharp cheddar and a fine single malt to wash it down
Where is the brie? I love brie!
speaking of cabana boy 2 -- did JC drop out after the chop privacy incident?
apple pie and good sharp vermont cheddar.. my traditional day after thanksgiiving breakfast.. but i have it with coffee
no TO i only do bacon flavoured vodka
brie in my fridge annie
yum crossy if the pie is made with granny smiths or something sharp I am in!
what is chop privacy? ( my mom uses rhode island greenings... much more tart than grannies. but hard to find)
ok really must go, i only have one day to run errand before heading back to work
sorry chog privacy
gotta go - client here bbl
bye you two
no. he actually did come back at least once after that.. i was kind of surprised to see him here with many friends chatting. bye owl and jm
chog privacy incident? i must of missed that
Annie, are you familiar with St. Andre's triple cream brie?
crossy like the firmer cheeses;0
no flosey, now I am intrigued.
oh yes... sinfully delicious. if you haven't had it annie you should try it. at least once.
it is my favourite
whenever i get a real soft or runny cheese, all i can think about is monty pythons "the cheese shoppe' lol
Costco carries it and is much cheaper than I've found
flosey, thank you for the cheese recommendation. I will look for it in a cheese store.
Or Costco. Yes, much cheaper
comes in a round box about 4" high with maroon lid
I used to buy it at Zabar's and it wasn't cheap. but soooo good
Thanks.
bavarian yak cheese and yougoslavian beaver cheese lol..time for crossys meds..hehe
There is a Russian supermarket here that carries many cheeses. I will look for it there.
at Costco it's about $5.39, have seen it in some shops twice that price
crosssy, I would not be suprised if there is a yak cheese.
*running to costco tomorrow*
good morning all
hi peri
morning peri
wonder if they have that chees at J?
we have a shoope here, you can goggle it called 'dags and willows" there are so many rare and expensive cheeses here, that actualy bying one is a event lol
morning peri
I will check
meant at BJ"s
I love cheese but most of the good stuff is full of fat and cholesterol, but for a treat would be nice to try. no one else here would eat it tho
I just love looking at a display of cheeses. So interesting
there is a great cheese place in the Italian Market downton
you buy a sliver of cheese there for 30 or 40 dollars, get a sleeve of those british water crackers, send the kids to a friends and lock yourself in the basement
dags and willows, will google that later
my son found this cheese called La Tur. from the piedmont area of italy... creamy and a bit tangy. and ridiculously expensive but so unique...
oh i miss the italian market.. 9th street? is it still llike it was forty years ago peri?
have not been there in a while. Doren
now crossy wants some nice provalone...
another yummy one Costco carries is Creme de Saint Agur, it's a super creamy blue
comes in a hexagonal shaped tub
I have blue cheese in the fridge. Another love of mine.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3KBuQH HKx0
i also love the private reserve cabot cheddar that costco carries.......and their price for parmiagianno reggiano is excellent - and it's as good as you can find anywhere
must try that one Dorens - next time I'm in Vancouver - daughter is a member, I'm not, store is not close enough for us
something ato look forward to flosey
I do not have a Costco near me. My daughter shops at Costco--must tell her to buy the parmiagianno cheese for me.
yup annie. it's nice and sharp and crumbly. but not sharp biting, just right.
i love cheese so much... a day without cheese is harder for me than a day without wine
just the way it should be. now I am thinking of spreading blue cheese on crisp crackers. too early?
never too early Annie - enjoy
never too early.. if it sounds good to you, it is. and you're making me hungry... was trying to save myself for lunch at zoe's
well ladies, i need to jump in the shower and make myself presentable... if i have time before leviing i'll be back for more.. still have 45 to find
never too early is right! Where does Zoe live, Dorens?
crossy is off to grab s sliver of his famous 7 year old cnadian white cheddar..brb;)..semi poof
zoe's is the restaurant we're meeting in.. sorry, my mistake... Rachel (the daughter) lives in williamsburg
Rachel, what a lovely name. My grandmother's name was Rachel. Is Zoe's on Lexington Ave..ate there many many years ago. Cant be the same place?
her grandmother's name also annie. my mother in law.. and when she died i decided to have a daughter to name for her... and she was born in september . right between Ray's birth date and death. (Rosh Hashanah.. whole family gathered at her house, she died peacefully there)
this zoe's is on Prince St in Soho.. never been there but read good things about it and it is near the place we're having facials. can't walk too far in the city with crutch and rain...
facials, what a lovely treat
I had one facial in my life and when I got off the table I felt as if I was oiled and ready to go into the oven. I couldnt wait to get back to my room and wash my face. So much for the finer things for me.
dorens, what a lovely story about your mother in law and naming of your daughter.
yup, very excited,,, we do it once a year or so and we're overdue this time - annie i have very large pores and it's nice to get them cleaned out now and then
oh the details are even better, but i'll save them for the day i finally meet you, annie
I guess I had the facial at the wrong place. Mohegan Sun. Liz (daughter) took me there for a birtday (70) had a manicure, facial, hairdo, dinner, gambling. I loved the dinner and gambling..the rest I guess was the wrong place. But Liz meant well.
dorens, save the story.
spiced macaroni & cheese white cheddar, fresno & chipotle peppers, toasted panko crumbs -- from the menu at zoe's.. .why i'm saving myself and not eating cheese now
what a lovely gift though annie. funny Elizabeth is rachel's middle name
Oooooh, my mouth is watering
Mac & cheese is a favourite comfort food for me - your's sounds heavenly
Yes, we stayed overnight and I won and so did she.
haven't had it yet flosey, but i intend to today! will report on it to you when you tell me how you liked the costco's cheese
mac and cheese and meatloaf.
ah yes, meatloaf, another comfort food
annie, the gambling wouldn't appeal to me, and the facial/manicure stuff didn't appeal to you. that's what makes life interesting... we have to have some different interests
I've made a note of it Dorens, don't know when I'll get over to Van but must soon to see grandson
how far is it flosey?
not far as the crow flies Dorens, we either take float plane, which is $200. return, and about 15 - 20 minutes, or ferry 1 11/2 hours plus hour drive
that's 1 and a half hours
So little William is the closest?
oh that's not bad, flosey. my grandkids are about a four hour drive, but i manage to do it once a month. wish they were closer, but glad they're not further
yes Annie, other grandson is in Toronto
and now ladies, happy babbles to you but i need to get going.
have a wondereful day with your daughter Dorens
dorens, Have a great day!
ty will do- nice chating with you - enjoy your day too
will do, thanks
good morning ladies!

later Annie. see you again soon!
ugh.. I see what you mean about the fe's...

I think this will be another non-finish day... I have so much to think about and do. But at least it's Saturday so I can think and do on my own time!
back
hey jmc!
evening all
haha morning, rather
Good morning/afternoon all.
good morning dan and Haz!
hi haz!
all-nighter, dan?
hello dan and yes, wondered where in US it could be evening
hello
hey phaeton!
Hello! A stinker of a grid and the weather's not much better.
busy here for a Saturday :)
what does the 9 begin with?
hello Haz, phaeton, any others I've missed
re
begins with re TO
re - now there's a surprise.
re and it is related to duran duran apparently
I am down to 186 and slowing fast.
211 left here!
ty
yesterday, I admitted in public that, while I have heard the names of many rock bands, and often recognize the songs, I have no idea which is what... LOL
go jmc go!
meaning that, "duran duran" does not enlighten me. *sigh*
yeah duran duran was not my thing
simon le bon
lol stid, tried calling my son but he wasn't home!
good re9 clue at 9:58 by nef
is that a duran duran person, TO?
Duran Duran did a James Bond theme song! & hi everyone!
yesterday in class, the teacher asked a question, and I hollered out, "Can I call a friend, Regis?" the whole class laughed at least.
A View to a Kill!!!!
yes stid. we must begin your rick music eduacation.
thanks, phae (wandering back after making coffee)
hello again lindy! practicing to be English again? (being online at the right time)
that is the one MM!
LOL stid, no just not at work on a weekend!
hey movie! I saw "9" and it was .... strange and wonderful! Did you see it?
Playing it now!!!!
hi lindy
Not yet, stid, I am planning to
hi TO!
it isn't 9:58 yet are we living backwards in time and no one told me?
wow. I can't really watch movies and babble at the same time.
k just came by to change icons and saw haz and wanted to greet her and you other wrrivers. bbl
it's 9:42 on my game clock...
((jm))
later TO, and thanks for the minilesson!
Bye TO.
but we were told nef gave a great clue at 9:58 so I am waiting for it
bye TO
It's produced by Tim Burton, and Timur Bekmambetov
bye TO have a good day
uh oh is crossy still here?
* humming * good morning, good morning, it's time to start the day...
hi lindrick how's things?
I'm waiting for 9:58 too! ;-)
good thanks jm & with you?
only 14 more minutes until nef's great clue!
hi pini
yes, it is. And it has a frightening theme, at least to me, but the 14 year olds I took to see it, were just intrigued. We talked about how it relates to world history on the ride home.
it's a knee jerk and a gerund ending, if you're impatient
MORNING, PINI!!!!! *breaks into song and dance*
terrible week in a tough month but a beautiful day
pin!!!
THANKS NEF!!! *gives Nef ALL the choclit*
aaww sorry to hear that jm
mornin', stid...although I'm not sure I'm really that awake! :)
ty ty nef I got it!
I just have 1 week to work then I shall be a happy bunny!
jmc!
I wouldn't be awake, but just as I was getting back to sleep from an insomniac early wake-up, Tom's alarm went off. *sigh*
I kept looking for a compound
I'd be sleeping in if I were at home in my own bed...
what will you do as a happy bunny and no work?
jmc, I feel the same way: it's been a terrible week in a terrible month; but it's a gorgeous day and life is good (co-worker is now returning from recovering after surgery. Life is going to be MUCh better now!
...but I'm at the kids' house...
and I have a lot on my mind, so decided to get up now and nap later.
going on the dole?? ;-)
well first I have visitors, then I have to pack up and move country! (0:
camo boy's house? are you playing "granny" today?
gonna retire jm, til I get bored at least!
Well, I was supposed to, stid...but I'm not sure if I'm going to be a happy camper...
my houseguest was all solicitous and I said -- you know what? life goes on. no one besides my mother is going to die over this
AAWW a bird just flew into my patio doors! )0:
ooo i wish i could afford to retire
ouch poor bird
where are you moving Lindrick
The four tiles in the bottom right corner are puzzling me
...the kids were supposed to leave before dawn and not return until just after dusk...
((((((jmc)))))) *sends warm tea and bottle of "flavoring" for tea*
I'm moving to London UK
me too movieman!
poor wee bird!
sorry...must have been 9:28..wasn't wearing my specs
i actually just finished talking about doing work in pakistan at ridiculous pay in 2011.
jmc, what would you do if you did retire?
well dawn has broken... are the kids still asleep?
sounds exciting
ep5 and ep9
mmmmm tea and "flavoring"
...if they don't go, then (with the exception of having a moment to see all of them), it's expensive just to drive down here and do virtually nothing...because the town is only 3,000 ppl... :(
ridiculous pay sounds nice, Pakistan sounds dangerous.
I would work if I retired! lol
yes flosey I am pretty excited, just need to get this week out of the way first, 50 hours to work!
you could babble, pini.... *demonstrates technique*
hence the ridiculous pay stiddie
...and, yes, stid, they're still asleep.
Oh, you're just too cute this morning for your own good! And, yes, that's why I have my laptop with me!!! I can Babble with my buds anytime!!!
I know jmc *considers how to get ridiculous pay without dangerous or strenuous work* I think it may be too late for us to be trophy brides?
i could babble and garden and write and travel
i was thinking before i would join the peace corp
are you babysitting, Pini? (trying to Babble and waiting for coffee, can't keep up with chat too!
I got a P word movieman, if you want it.
ah, coffee, need another one
was supposed to, Nef...not so sure now, but it's a good distance home to just get up and go... :(
i was offered a $1000 per month pay once to wear a bikini around this guys pool so he could feel like hugh heffner
bbs
I would quite like to volunteer as a marriage guidance councilor
LOL pini *curtsies cutely*
ep5 - uses those four tiles plus another letter - leads to ep9
later flosey
later flosey
hb flosey
no way! *gasp* I think I would do that... when I was about 20!
thanks Haz!
what haz that can't be right I already have re9 there is no ep9
ep 8, jmc
ep8 -sorry.
gonna get some coffee, bbl
I seriously thought about it -- that was big money in those days
coffee is good *sips* even without flavoring
Not sure I would have thought long, jmc! :)
wow. that gerund comes in handy!
i decided it would interfere too much with school
* going to get laptop power cord...brb *
I am lking the gerund too
i was also once offer $10,000 (are there any minors on the chog?)
we can never know, jmc...
cash to spend the weekend with this guy
how long ago was that jmc?
i didn't always have a flapping belly
*GASP* honest???? I NEVER got offers like that ! LOL
interesting
a llllllllloooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggg ggggg time ago phae! LOL
yeah the guy was married and I never went with married men
i did have my fun in the college years though
jmc; I was often propositioned, but never offered money! You must have been one *hot* babe! :-D
I had no fun like that in college, that's for sure!
there is an x word? I am assuming xy
well i never took the money lol and yes, if i do say so i was one hot babe
xy5
are hookers in the grid or something?
that's the right direction, jmc
yes, xy, had to monkey it, not a familiar word to me
i pity the folks who didn't live through the sexual revolution
how many letters in the xy word pls (no clue yet)
back...plugged in now...if only my brain would follow
I second that jmc
that was, indeed, before my time, jmc... (but not THAT much before)
xy5
no hooker ru just stories about by-gone days
ty haz
LOL, jmc! I lived through it, but never *did* anything too wild and crazy! Good Catholic upbringing; plus worked nights as an RN through a lot of it
got it ty
I DON'T got it. help jmc?
i was pretty wild but not much into drugs so it was very fun
xy = like Bob D**** of musical fame
think of the instrument and shorten it with a changed last letter
drugs are scary... I have seen what they do to people, so wasn't inclined to try.
that's a pop musician I HAVE heard of! LOL
thanks pini and jmc
by drugs i mean weed
past 100 words, still trying for NBT
now, mind you, stid, I have no idea what he sings, but the name is popular :)
(weed I tried once, hated it)
I tried pot once; didn't like it or what it did to me. When my kids were in grade school; they asked if I had done drugs and my son went and told his classmates I smoked pot!
drugs for fun is way overrated
lol i am thinking i will never get nbt until the last 5 words!
he doesn't sing, I believe, he mutters into a microphone incoherently
I need 2 more for nbt (upper left I and lower right O)
need one more tile for NBT
What made it worse was that I was the class Mom at the time and also pres of the PTA! In a parochial school
then you know more than I do, stid!!! LOL
lower right O is what we breath
*breathe
ox6 -keep breathing
upper left i is the dolphin fishy babblet
oy...thx phae!
I tried pot once.. but I didn't inhale.. (wink wink) *looks sheepish like bill clinton*
thanks phaeton, takes deep breath. I needed that! NBT
thx stid!!!!
ty phae
yw
NBT!!! 87 words in!!! finally!
now for the other 163...
hmmm i guess compared to this pious crowd i was a real druggie
i need the upper O for nbt
oh NEF! rofl... that is too funny (in retrospect) but I bet at the time it was embarassing. I have been honest with my children about the time I tried it. And about their relations who did more than try.
wtg pini!
go pini go!
phae...O*** and aahs
well, I am going to get a start on this thing I need to accomplish. *sigh* I hate having so much to do. Poor Tom spends all day Saturdays cleaning just so I don't have to. At least I do the laundry and floors on Mondays...
what a time to enter the chat! {not revealing any secrets} but when you all watch movies of the 60s of be-ins in Central Park - I was there!
see you-all again soon! *poof*
I tried pot, did nothing but make me hungry and I sure didn't want to gain weight!
bye stiddie
how many people actually finish a puzzle?
;-) jbv
lots of us do fyl
Thousands.
how peter max jbv
a lot do fyl and a lot don't
JBV, it's nice to know someone who actually did those things! I was reaching the point that I was beginning to think it was all staged!
depends on the day, fyl - and the number of words, etc.
nope, tie-dye, fringed, it was all real, nef
not many be ins in Texas!
pha, did you get the o4?
no nef my sister put a flower in the barrel of a soldiers gun
/nod, thanks. just wondering - I got 110 or so words in about 15 minutes but now I can't find any, I don't think I could ever finish it
DH was going to go to Woodstock, but changed his mind because the guy driving had a full car.
it was more muted but real in the south too
if you're looking for help, fyl...check out Lickety's Babble Clues under the grid...(just open it in another window and put them side-by-side)
well fyl have you tried lickerty's list below to help?
fyl - just because we can finish the grid doesn't mean that we know all the words. There are resources for help - look at Lickety's babble clues under Friends of Lickety, also online dictionary resources.
and stick around and there will be clues in the chog
and we help each other
ohh! awesome, thanks. :) friendly community, I like it!
And this is a stinker of a grid.
we are friendly mostly! ;-)
that we are, fyl! :) welcome aboard!
fly, I always tell people to check the Help pages right above this chat log. (That's where I got directions on this game)
you too shall be assimilated; resistance is futile!
welcome to babble fyl
although i am about to throw things since poxy is apparently not a word
*sulks*

You're greatly into the foreign languages. We'll need a unversal translator.
nah, i'm just trying to keep my peeps on their toes in here
oops so true jbv *skitters off to pb*
but thanks jmc, didn't have it
Parnelli Pini is slowing down to Putt Putt Pini as the words get scarcer and scarcer...

gerund to the se4
hb jmc
could someone clue a word for the bottom P? I *need* NBTs today
uh oh...potty! :-S
Flosey, add a vowel to the preceding se6
gerond the chicken *** nef
*gerund
pe4 - p plus a Santa's helper.
thx haz...didn't have that one
po6 = childhood illness (chicken ***) + gerund
clue for the x plz
thanks phae and Haz (didn't see the pe4 before either)
It can be pluraled, also use first three letters and add how old you are for pe6.
yw nef
mm...xy5 = Bob D****, musician/singer
hello
xy4 - xy plus most of what precedes the sailor's cry when spotting shore.
ta pini
phantom: pelican
back
wb jmc
P's done! Thanks for all the help! What a way to get NBTs' today

ty harp

yw pini
I left some coffee in the pb harp
good for you I got it from nef's clue earlier
hah, those licketysplit clues help quite a bit huh
that's actually my problme jmc, not enough stimulant
btw ty harp
yes, they do, fyl ;)
ywv (slurp)
I had to make a second pot of coffee because i was so vague i spilt the entire first pot on the floor and kitchen cabinets harp
...and Camo Boy is stirring...
yeah it is a hard day when there is no lickety
is the ox a common word?
very common
it is as common as air
;-)
how many pini (although it is too early to race)
103/147
(sorry, had to refresh)
...and now Camo Boy is really stirring...brb
your ahead of me but I will make up time now!

fyl, are ou keeping up? Chat's going too fast for me this AM! :-)
glad you are in such a good mood
i think its the headache...makes me odd
wow owl has changed a lot in your icon eva
it has slowed down considerably nef
lol...i guess i need to update me bio
Nut, a headache makes you silly? Such names you say today! I'd be all one syllablic if I had a headache
kinda sorta! doing a lot of switching between tabs :) up to 152 words now though
depends on the headache nef
ah well open lickety in a different windo fyl
go fyl go!
thanks for the ox
good for you, fyl! I'm still back on 60 wors down myself!
i have 71 words --179 left
just waitin g on the excedrine to kick in, then i have to go out and perform emergency tick removal
yw harp i wondered if you had gotten it
afternoon everyone
strange headache, nut. Hope you get rid of it so**
yikes! ticks are bad
hi katie
ticks just happen around here
ticks are gross :(
i've only had three this year, that's good for me
the woods will do that
well done, fyl...(hint: if you open them in separate browsing windows, you can lay them side-by-side)
rats pini i haven't caught up yet! lol
you guys have this down to a science! :D
and then there's ol' fyl over there...just comes on in and runs over us!!! LOL
you are way ahead of me fyl!
fyl...I'm still working without the list; relying heavily on monkeys and clues :)
If I'm in a hurry, I will put up lickety and shrink the grid window so I can't read the chog. Normally, I won't do that because I love the chog! :-)
but there are definitely tricks of the trade
gotta go in 5 minutes to pick up my MIL
is jmc talking about turning tricks again? bad girl.
what! no never *glare*
My goals are to get NBT (no blank tiles = each available tile has a word [i.e., no 0/] and then 1/2-way mark before listing...
I *think* that most of the regulars don't open lickety unless they are over half way and/or can't find the last 20 or so
you are in the wrong "trade" jmc...tricks indeed...and so near halloween
i usually don't open before 1/2 but some grids are so tough i do
eva! bad girl bad!
Koda's going Reverse Trick or Treating with me again! :)
pot calling kettle black there miss trick....he he he
some grids are easy enough I don't open lickety at all or only at the very end
*sideways glare at eva*
clue for one of the fe6's?
how do you reverse trick or treat?
careful jmc...you're face will get stuck like that
* gasp * did we kill the chog???
:-P
well, jmc, you *were* the one talking about being a hot babe in the 60's, guys trying to hire you to be in a bikini or for weekends!
Reverse Trick or Treat = dress the dog up and take him on a walk and give out candy on the way! :)
that is entirely different from turning tricks!
oooooooh! i didn't even know that! *tucks away ammo...er...info for later use*
LOL! I'm just giving Nutty some info to use later! Sorry for picking on you jmc
I was a product of my era
lol that is what i get for writing entertaining stories on the chog
!! clue for a fe6?
so phae don't have it yet
me either, phae
ok, ty jmc
gotta go bbl
have fun fyl!
re 9 clue please
by jmc
hb jmc

I better get moving, busy day ahead.
I get moving, but Camo Boy is in my lap ;)
My daughter is in her first roller derby bout tonight tonight!
Pini, I was thinking Camo boy was your son! Now I'm guessing he's your GRAND son, right?
brb
yes, newf, grandson
sorry = 1 handed typing
how fun, nef!

...and it appears everyone's go4...or lurking...or...
I am here
hi P2
hi--how goes it this morning
or I guess it is afternoon now here
it's going...9:03 in the morning here...and grandbabysitting ;)

2.5 months old now ;)
* big nonna smile *
fyl, still out there?
he's pretty darn cute, but doesn't play too much yet
(the baby, that is)
sorry Babble froze up on me
been doing that to me today, too (no worries)
what is his name?
I have 2 grands that keep me busy too
one is 5 and the other is 3
picture is on profile
really need to update it tho
Cole David ...I also have a GD ... Malena Nicole :)
I should really try and get a pic of them together and post it!
Malena--that is an interesting name
was she named after anyone special
It's a variation of my grandmother's name: Magdalena
nice--I have a real interest in names
I like names that are a little different
I love "old" names made "new" again ;)
but not so far out there that the poor kid is going to get beat up at school everyday!! LOL
oh, definitely...that's not a good place to go with a name...
...and the "old made new" are vary hard to come by...
yes I know
...and there are some old that can just never be new! :(
but I have noticed that they are starting to come back in the states a little but
a little bit that is
agreed
names like Lydia, Grace, Norah
Emma is very popular...
yes, but now it is so popular it is almost common
My niece is Emmerine ;)
if you know what I mran
can't type today
I do... ;)
no worries; fluent in typonese ;)
is it pronounced Em a wren?
more like Em rin
hmm--that is a new one that I had not heard before
you must be in the UK?
It's East Indian ;)
No, I'm in the US (west coast), but my SIL is of East Indian descent
oh okay
got ya--wasn't sure where you were located
(trying to get DH and his Aunt moving today, they are so SLOW!
I am here in Ohio--where winter is on it's way unfortunately
Em's sisters are Susmitha (Susmy) and Lincy [twins]
fr7?
I had heard the Susmitha, but not the Lincy
fr7 = beware of glass when shipping
easily broken, harp... "this side up, fr7"

Ruru, any leftovers for Crossy, as he awaits my grill to hotten up?
arugula salad with grilled chicken, bacon, grilled fuji persimmons, dried cranberries, and a honey mustard dressing
Aaaarrrggghhh. C'mon! How the heck can I compete with that.....
nice Ruru!
Crossy - in Chez Soodle, its bacon. Just bacon. (I am a purist...) lol

jmc,i learned long ago that any judge will work with you as long as you agree to pay the bill..no matter how much you can pay a month.i once had a annoying bill from revenue canada it was for 400 dollars, and i knew they we in the wrong, but thier lawyers were more expensive than mine.so i agreed in court that the bill was mine, but told the judge that im on hard times and can only pay a bit a month or declare bankruptcy.the judge turned to the rev canada lawyer and said"well he shows a willingness to pay,so do you want the monthly payments,or do you want to lose it all when he declares bankruptcy? they agreed to the terms.the judge turned to me and said "how much can you pay per month?" and with a straight face i said"5 dollars".lol the expression on the rev canada lawyer was priceless! the judge said "so ordered" and slammed his gavell:)))
Clue for ho 6
good job crosshair! LOL
scout's ho6
ty for the advise crossy but I have dealt with creditors for nearly 35 years -- the issue here is i refuse to pay the last $22 because of the poor care
they can kiss my quaker butt
but that was very thoughtful of you crossy
anyone have the re 7/36?????
ahh nothing finer than keeping thier books unbalanced..i have a uncashed cheque from bell canada for 85 cents;)..lol i like your style jmc
They are harrassing you for 22$?????
jmc,pay the money at a dollar a month..in peiines
or the li 6/24?
pennies even
ruru to make somthing straight again
hell i wrote them that they were welcome to take me to small claims and i would counter-sue for the bad care
old sticky once from the coffee cup holder in the car
lol crossy
thank you eno
when you save up 100 green sticky coffee covered pennies, put them in a plastic bag, adress it to them and dont put a return addy on the out side and short the postage..it will come to them postage due;))
don't have the li ruru
I got it...
I am done.. what a grid
yes eno even though I wrote a relatively polite note on the bill saying that I would consider -- consider mind you- paying it when they found my mother's watch that she never took off her wrist
care ti share ? :)
no they don't do postage due in the U.S. for just those reasons
whoo hoo ruru!
mm,you got me worried jmc,im currently in the middle of making arrangements for my father..;(
they stole your mother's watch? unbelievable
where she is now is wonderful
bravo ruru
i honestly think they just lost it figuring she didn't need it anyway but it was her retirement gift
shame on them
she is in a group house where there are 3 people to 8 residents
but she is in a good place now?
a note to you all, make sure the power of atourney forms are handy for the relative that is going to need it.my brother and i went through paperwork hell till it was sorted out
there are 5 houses and they share 2 nurses and 2 social workers on top
the poa should have the original poa -- not the person who is granting it. So many people make that mistake
INDEED
the original..not a unsigned copy
yep an unsigned copy is not worth much
but it is all sorted out now:/
i did elder law for 20 years but i hated it and quit
good to hear crossy
clue for the x?
hated the kids fighting like foaming dogs over the estate?
There has been a HUGE scandal here about nursing/ retirement homes. Old folk being left in the care of unquallified, unregistered, and uncaring staff. There is going to be a huge backlash when the lid is finally off the can of worms
fortunately the law in that area has liberalized in the U.S. (don't know about Canada) allow immediate family members to act as poa without docs.
well as the baby boomers end up in nursing homes, there will have to be some changes
well i was all good without it as im eldest son, till i had to deal with the banks
these group homes are the cutting edge
hated the heirs taking out their insecurities out on me when the will didn't go their way
yea banks are a law unto themselves
my sibling and i have agreed not to ever let it get like that..its a digrace when that happens
And Cross - I have been where you were. I stood up in the High Court in Dublin, and declared that I could only afford to pay €1.00 per month to what only can be described as a loan shark in banks clothing, and the judge smiled at me, banged his gavel, and declared that I should only pay half that amount. Oh sweet victory!
indeed soodles;)))
i don't think my sisters and i will either but it helps that my mother divides everything equally
very cool soodle
and i am the executrix
Enomis - xy5 - xy + patriotic song "This ***d is Your +++d"
as long as you show willingness to pay, they are stuck with it
ty metfan
ty metfan!
YW all...
they need to understand that i am not mad enough to sue now, but if they press me i sooooo willll. I will hire the scummiest abulance chasers around and screw them into the ground
8 more and I am going to the list... I have this rule for myself that I have to find half the words before going to the list (((sigh)))
in a quakerly manner of course
it is a common rule eno although sometime the list is such a bear a break it
hi metfan
Hey jmc
Dont know if either of you know my circumstances, but my dear husband of 20 years just upped and skedaddled when his business went down the pan. As i was a director of his company, I was left with his debts. I have been thru the horrors of a company liquatation, and the even more horrific spectre of trying to console our 3 kids.
Been a long time....
poor soodle I knew you had had some hard times but not what
i know jmc but I am stubborn :)
good for you eno!
He is now known in this house as the 'not so dear, but oh so departed!!'
poor soodle! how are doing
I just get frustrated and figure if i am not having fun what's the point?
sorryn to hear that soodles;(
lol soodle cute nickname
Hey! We are still here! I am still Babbling. The kids are doing unbelievably well, but, it still hurts. The not so dear, but oh so departed was last heard of in Bangkok, Thailand!!!
i have nothing in my wifes name that will give her any grief should i get run over by a bus tommorow
you are a very nice guy crossy
Good for you Cross!!
..actually she will get 40 grand from my poicy..mm i should check the brakes on my car....
4 more before going to the list...
everything was in my name when my husband died so it was not too messy
*hands crossy a wretch*
go eno go!
My problem is, he is not contactable. If I fell off my perch in the morning, we are still technically married, and he could come back, and claim my pension, our house and the kids. Its a chilling thought
surely you can divorce him in absentia
It would cost a fortune, JMC. I would have to advertise in papers circulating in south east asia.-
really? not just in Ireland? I mean you don't really know where he is, right?
I thought after 2 years of missing-ness, you didn't have to do any of that
that's how one of my friends handled her husband poofing off to Thailand. Waited for 2 years adn a lot of legal requirements went away
i would think ata even in *ahem* Great Britain
The laws here state that he has to be incommunicado for 7 years. Then he can be legally declared dead, and I can claim his life insurance. Trouble is, the fecker phones occasionally - invariably drunk and incoherent, but alive....
but there's a difference between being declared dead and being delcared divorced?
you are going to get a new unlisted number aren't you!?
hi Ata
http://www.irishlinks.co.uk/divorce-ir eland.htm
and hi! just barging in here :)
Ata - divorce is relatively new in Ireland.
Ata - divorce is relatively new in Ireland.
move over here :P
The divorce laws are very new and still largely untested.
Ata... The not so dear, but oh so departed is an Englishman!!!!!
but you could still divorce the brat over here!!
well the wenpage says that one in every six marriages in Ireland end in divorce now
it says you have to be living apart for 4 years and then you can apply on your own without a solicitor
how long has the bast...dearly departed been departed?
that sounds reasonable
in the US it is a year or in some cases 6 months but everyone knows how decadent we are
hi all!
You are right Jmc - but, both parties have to be in agreement. I cant get hold of the fecker, to get his agreement!
hi nrkii
how can you have to have agreement with someone who has officially buggered off??!
Hi Nrkii
There must be a get-out clause for desertion and non-support surely
Agreed Ata, but divorce laws in this country are so new, this eventuality hasn't come before the courts yet. So it would be an expensive operation to test the las....
*sigh* silly laws
could you find a lawyer who would be prepared to take the case as a freebie to get the laws tested? maybe someone would do it!
Sorry folks - I really didnt mean to hijack the chog with my difficulties.
it's fine :) we're just rewriting the lawsof Ireland for you
the laws in ireland do seem to be somewhat rigid
but i would talk to legal aid about it too
Ha! Thanks Ata. If my fairy godmother appeared before me tonight, and granted me one wish, it would be that that .......EEJIT would get his cummuppance! It seriously kills me that he is off in Southeast Asia, living it up, and I am here, doing my best to pick up the pieces he left behind...
hi nrkii
he will get his comeuppance I guarantee -- he will never get to know his great kids
I truly am the woman scorned. Not only that, but my 3 kids have been scorned... and that hurts a whole lot more
somewhat reminds me of the dustin hoffman film about divorce in italy
the film was in italian and with subtitles
your kids are being loved by a loving mom and that is worth more than anything else {{{{{soodle}}}}}
eno how is it going?
Yeah, I am mid-way through the grid, can goto the list now!!! Told you I was stubborn jmc :)
I went to a funeral the other day. A very religous friend was there. She said to me, If God is all forgiving, is he going to say to Tom (when he dies)....C'mon in Tom.... sit down here, between Mother Theresa and Oskar Schindler.... Will he ever be sanctioned?
good for you eno!
32 left here... want to get 2 more before I list, but this grid is a beast
forgiving is not the same thing as a free pass
go nrkii go
okie-dokie I am taking a break and working on a tax return! fun fun fun
bbl *poof*
bye jmc!
Thanks JMC
getting nowhere on this grid...
nor me. but I have flu and therefore am excused :P
I'm so tired, I almost just posted 218 words into this chat
there are some very odd new words here
Ata, is it normal flu or H1N1?
H1N1 *probably*
no way of telling without blood test, but all the right signs and symptoms etc
Ooooh, I hear its a horrible dose...
it hasn't be exactly fun ...
Bed. Hot drinks. and more bed
I have been all day :) this is my ffirst time I get to stay up for a few hours :):)
was feeling a lot better last week but it's come back now *sigh*
I never get the regular flu, but I wonder if I'm succeptible to H1N1?
Are you being well looked after by the other half, Ata?
um ......... that's an interesting question
he has a Cold at the moment, which is apparently significantly worse, so I should be looking after him
Well, if he is not looking after you, HAW on him. Make sure he gets your virus!!
lovely
he's just so precious!
go ahead and look after him, and breath deeply into his face
Hello kiddies!
you can imagine how well THAT went down!
Ahh. The MAN flu!
hi scrabbler!
Hello Scrabbler
hi Scrabs
174 to go here.
but ... to give him a very small amount of praise, he has been bringing me glasses of iced water every few hours today, so maybe he's got the message
How are you feeling today, Ata?
go scrabs!
15 left here
I have not spent much time on this grid yet. I will watch hockey game lataer and make more progress.
Go N go!
just *fluey*. temperature and shivering and blech. but! not as bad as yesterday :)
hi, babblers
How is your respiratory status, Ata?
Ata! Your just going to have to keep away from those bogs!
Hi welki
it's ok. not ideal, but nothing worrying
hi Welki
hi welki!
Flu illness is widespread in my practice area.
the one good thing about having had bronchial problems all my life is that I can tell my peak flow generally without taking it, and can *usually* feel when something is turning problematic
scrabbler, I saw your facebook post. are you ok?
hi babble pals!
hi beach! hi welki!
fe5 = description of many kids that I see in office--wild, uncivilized, unsocialized
Hi beachboggle
hi beach!
ty :)
Soodle, I was out of it, clearly, plus I forgot to turn ringer on for phone
Ata, are you on inhaled steroids?
makes it much easier to sleep through, scrabs
I am going to offer to take some on call time for my partner as a way to make it up to him
yep, budesonide and also long-term formoterol, and I keep a supply here of pred for emergencies
Scrabbler - somebody is trying to tell you something. You seem to be doing too much. You must take care of Scrabbler. Then Scrabbler can take care of the kiddies...
long-term??? long release!
budesonide sounds familiar... I think I've been on that before
I have this wonderful new-ish inhaler that gives a dose of steroids and a dose of long-release substance like albuterol. It's the best thing I've ever seen for asthma
It has been a wild week in the office, Soodle--flu illness + anxiety. very busy on phones and in office. We ran out of appts by 1 pm yesterday and added 3 hrs of appts with 2 extra people helping
budesonide = "Pulmicort" in US
but NO RICHARD!! :)
Probably Symbicort, Ata = budesonide + formoterol
yeah, maybe I was on Pulmicort at one point... I had post-pneumonia asthma for a while and had to use a couple diff inhalers over a 3-4 yr period
Yes, no Richard! He does not cope well with crises---> yelling + tantrums.
yep, that's the one, though I'll be changing to something v simialr soon - it's a new version of Symbicort that is a puffer thing not powder release
I don't get the flu, but I do get sinus infections that turn into bronchitis/pneumonia
We do not have dry powder inhaled Symbicort here, just metered dose inhaler
you should do soon - it's coming out under a different name though *trying to remember*
Nrki..... hope you were touching wood as you typed that you dont get flu.
Soodle, I seriously don't get it... it's a mystery to me
maybe I'll get H1N1 because it's different, though I hope I won't
but I get horribly sick with sinus infections 2 to 3 times each year, and for most of the rest of the year, I'm fighting off something that eventually becomes a sinus infection
nrkii - maybe you should check with yr doctor on whether you should have the HiNi flu shot though. It is highly contagious
www.vitamindcouncil.org---vit D boosts the immune system
hmmm can't find it, but AstraZeneca started up a whole new factory this year for its production!
oh wait, I read that wrong
here, you can get both vaccinations starting monday, but the h1n1 only at a flu clinic ... and there are only four flu clinics in calgary (+ one million people)
Nah - dont mind me, Nrkii. In this part of the world, if you talk about something and you dont want it to affect you, you touch wood (how provincial?). You are grand!!
you only have the metered dose? weird. wonder why we only get the powder
Soodle, I'm a big fan of knocking on wood
I'll hear about it, Ata. Drug representatives, I mean, pharmaceutical reps, will inform us, or I will see an ad in a journal
everyone knocks on wood don't they?
scrabs, I saw your vitamin D rec yesterday, and then promptly forgot to look it up... my brain is mush
Vit D will help that too, N
lol, okay :)
Here in Ireland, the doctors have been offered €10 tp administer the H1N1 vaccine. about 95% of GP's have refused to take up the offer, as it will cost them money.

yay welki!
Bye everyone, time to drag Stew off the couch and go for a walk (even if it is a gloomy day)
^5 nrk!
Congrats nrkii
bye lynxxx!
Whoo hoo Nrkii and welki!!
awww lucky Stew!
Yippee welki + N!
now I have to decide what evil food I'm going to indulge in for dinner tonight
BBL, I am going to wash the dishes then take a hot shower.
Oh, Nrkii. Can we help in this dreadful decision you must make?
yes soodle
see ya scrabs!
can i help before i start dragging laundry down the stairs?
I really really want a burger and sweet-potato fries, but if I get that, I have to go drive to get it, in the pouring precipitation
Welki - you dropped a sock on step 5....
worth it, nick ... yummmmm, sweet potato fries
so I could settle for a delivered stromboli, which is not nearly the same, but I get to stay dry
So, Nrkii, what have you got in the fridge?
or chinese, but there'd be too many leftovers, and I only get to indulge tonight
old eggs, soodle... oh, and cheese
we're going to try a new pub tonight ... it's a franchise, so not holding high expectations, but no dishes!
I have frozen dinner stuff that's quite good, but not what I want
Ok. Have you got access to fresh pasta?
stromboli or a burger ... can't get good stromboli here, so that's what i'd have
indulge = no cooking, no dishes, no fuss
some of those chain pubs are excellent, as long as you don't order stuff with cream sauces...
I have 6 oz of egg noodles
this is called brewster's (hahaha, punny)
not fresh pasta, no
plus, you're going dangerously close to suggesting I cook something soodle... :)
OMG - a philistine. No fresh pasta...(lol)
I already cooked pot roast earlier this week, and applesauce yesterday... that's my limit for one week
Ok. Dried pasta?
at a place called brewsters, I'd set my sights on a burger or fish and chips
6 oz egg noodles, soodle, that's it
Nrkii. Sorry. I lost the brief there. Brewsters. Definetly. and Fish and chips.
oh, that was my advice for welki
though fish and chips would be good too... would require a longer drive...
Actually, any sort of takeaway sounds good. You dont have to cook - u
You dont have to clean up.... Oh yes. A take away for sure!!
dammit, thunder... aargh! I'm gonna starve tonight
order placed... bacon cheddar cheeseburger and sweet potato fries... thunderstorm be damned
gotta go... happy babbling all!
sounds wonderful!
I am frustrated with this grid... it does not seem to end!
Nrkii - hope its a guy with a 6 pack delivering it!!
you set your sights high, soodle ... lol
What can I say, Welki? Aim high!!
i'd say, 'aim lower' ;)
Been there, done that!! -
enomis, can i help with a clue or two before i stop procrastinating?
What time is it in Canada now?
where i am, it's 4:30 pm, where enomis is, it's 6:30 pm
can't delay the inevitable ... laundry time. have a good evening, folks
Oh my! I didnt even know there were different time zones in canada!
What a klutz!!
six time zones here
Enjoy the laundry,Welki!
bye, soodle :)

I think so too!
May I please have a clue for al6-33? Thanks
just listed -- just knew I'd be missing some ae's other than the usual one!
and for me the first truly positive story
al 6: beer drink + high tile + opp.of out
and the al 7 adds a vowel
Inge, our system is not perfect by any means, but neither is it as bad as some of the US media would have you believe. Those that really need action get it and our preventative care is excellent
Thanks again, inge.
Danke Inge!
yw
I know what you look like, Scrab. Finally looked at your group photos in NJ
Yep, that's me!
ae 6, please?
who tends to the bunnies when you go away?
ae 6 is an adverb related to what we breathe
My nephew lives with me.aerate

ty inge
yw
hey scrabs, how do you feel?
I got it--TY
Much better, Owl!
er 6, please?
any need for drscrabbler at the game?
who is drs
Yep, a kid went down and the athletic trainer and I ran out. The kid was crying--got hit in butt/hip and was having pain down the sciatic nerve. I slipped in mud when leaving field but did not wipe out.
er 6: e + wedding **** + vowel
The athletic trainer teaches me so much about sports medicine
danke, inge
useful for treating kids
Scrabbler is a bona fide pediatrician, alibabas
off to produce some supper -- bbl
ty for the help
bona fide--i have been puked on, pooped on, peed on, kicked, punched
The U. of Freiburg hospital specializes in sports injuries. Maybe you can take a sbbatical there, Scrab
Many of the kids are fe5!
Cool, Inge!
just think where we where this time last week! :) lol fe5
Yes, eating, laughing + playing SuperScrabble! I miss you and the other gals.
well i am gald i made it out of my bashful cocoon to join you
I am rather shy too, at least initially
i am painfully so. in the adult way.
Anxious to hear how the DC gathering goes. We could have one in Michigan. At least 6 Michiganders I know of. And it is only a 5 hour drive for you Scrab.
I have worked hard at overcoming shyness.
i can do it to a point. it will keep me from remarrying for sure.
Enjoy life, Owl, reach out to others, talk to that "worry voice" and tell it the truth then it will cower
Just read your profile re Soupy Sales. One of our TV reporters was close friends with him and told all sorts fo funny stuff
enjoyed meeting leslie, she is some scrabbler!
She is smart and beats me 80% of the time
now: one mean lillte 4 letter word stand between me and fireworks
And she is so funny--we laugh so much!

Scrab, Is that the sister, who sued to critizceze your babble addiction?

Yes, she said she enjoyed being with smart, stable, nice women. She works with women that whine about their husbands + kids.
well two out of three ain't bad! :D nrk had our pics up but i did not see them
Yes, Inge, she does not like being in front of a computer monitor as she does it so much at work. She is a hospital pharmacist
Believe in yourself, Owl!
The pics are in NRkii profile
I checked out a new church today, owl, the one in the town where I work. I think I will make the change.

I would like to get involved in youth ministry.
This one = St Aloyisius.
I better move into the living room before my butt taeks on the shape of my computer chair. Gute Nacht, babblers. MOre words coming tomorrow'
Gute Nacht, Inge!
BRB--must grab late dinner + laptop cord
LOL st aloyisius is the one i just spoke of! i changed though after a little exchange with the monsignor
I go to Saints Peter & Paul now but it is a 25 min drive vs 12 for st Aloy
The priest at St Aloy is not beloved but I want to be involved in the village in which I work

Viruses can trigger hives too--feeling sick?
now it is jaw pain . i clench my jaw all day and by slepp time it is so sore
i can't sleep for the pain
hey je! je well knows how allergic i am
you need to get a night guard, TO. keep you from grinding your teeth at night. also helps to keep your jaw relaxed.
((Owl)) relax
TO -- love your icon!
Thanks, lbdawger.....I think I have that as the 1st or6-24...would you please maybe reword it.....Thanks so much
the problem is during the day

Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
night night, TO. hope you rest well.
Hi Min, welcome to the grid. how are you this evening?
I'm well. I gave up on the grid at 2:36 with 150 words
w/o the list, i probably would have done the same. brain wasn't working at full capacity today
Oh, lndawger, that is ok. You help me so much. Thank you.
your always welcome. i hope my clues are helpful, even when my brain has taken leave.
I am afraid I am of NO help at tonight.I still have 100 words left. I just came here to see who was babbling.
you're, not your...see, brain isn't hitting all cylanders tonight
wow, what a cool bunch of icons y'all have!
Can't even see my icon without clicking on my profile
I can, it's the Yellow Kid, right?
well, it is a bit small in icon form...
What good eyes you have rbud? Are you sure you are not that big bad wolf in Little Red Riding Hood rbud?
And you also know what the Yellow Kid is.I had never heard of comic before 'til I researched it for my icon.
I did look at it in your profile, Min, I just thought you maybe meant it wasn't showing in the chat, but it is.
But yes, I know about the Yellow Kid, have done a little comic research over the years.
Two phantom words for me today are argile & reflex.
but the last one you said is here, not a phantom! ;)
it is part of the re 9
Darn! re6/42 IS in the grid and I already have it. Off to the Penalty Box I go! I am so sorry guys!
add the gerund and you have the 9!
shhh, no one was looking, I won't tell, lol!
Meant to say relax! That was my other phantom word
oops, guess someone was looking after all!
np, Min. i don't think there are that many folks reading the chat tonight.
pssst, some of us are lurking! LOL
lurkers live for us to go to the PB!!! Hi Unea!!
Well if they are or if they are lurking, I hope it helps.
:-D
unea doesn't count she probably already had it! ;)
well, yeah, i did :-)
i knew it! lol
I've been here periodically to check the chog. It has been pretty quiet each time I logged in.Guess people are buried in this monster puzzle or out having a life.
aren't there some big games on the tube tonite? (can you tell I'm not a big football fan?)
I had a life all day, ready to live in Babbleland for a bit.
no idea, unea. i'm not into sports either.
hello again :)

hi Nan!

The Yankees were supposed to play, but it is pouring!
well done, Unea!
Hi cybernan! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
ty dawger
I'll take babbling any over watching sports on the tv.
*any day
me too, Min, and my hubby doesn't care about watching sports either, one of his many good points.
My hubby doesn't even care about babbling. I babble while he watches sports on tv which is good because we are down to one computer now, unfortunately his
depends on the teams, if Hubz watches any sports. unless it's his alma mater, but even then he mostly just checks the scores
oh no, did your computer bite the dust?
or 6 following the metals?
sounds like the state under washington, change the 3rd letter to another vowel
back in a bit, need tea
or6:like state but change the third vowel to another
looks sort of like the paper-folding art, drop last 2 letters for a single diff. consonant
ty min and rbud and dawger
My computer bit the dust a few weeks ago. I am too cheap to have it fixed. We still got one computer left that is still working so that is good enough for now.
ra 7/36 pls
yw cybernan
rbud, finally you should use that clue, I was just on a paper-folding website looking up how to make a star.
ra 7?
Sorry big red and cybernan, don't have that word yet
