We will just have to draw down money from the investment - we've been hoping that it bounces back a bit more b4 having to take money out.

I have to say, jilli, that before knowing you I didn't like great danes much. Not dislike them, but had no particular affinity for them. You've really shown me what gorgeous dogs they are over the babble years :)

lyn, they shouldn't drool. There's been a recent fad for lots of lip which is really considered a fault in the breed standard for that very reason. Ours did NOT drool.

One of the reasons I enjoyed babble so much was that on the chat log, people couldd discuss all sorts of things and when I started there was a sefl-imposed discipline that swear words etc were not used - out of courtesy not just to children but to those of us who don't use that language ourselves. I'd be very disappointed if babblers couldn't keep up that tradition of sefl-control and courtesy.

Re: smoking. I'm amazed as people who smoke outside don't realize how much their clothing brings the smoke back inside with them. Minnesota is a big no-smoking state (you can't even smoke in hotel rooms now; they have smoking areas outside of the hotels I noticed this weekend!)

The smoking ban in public places is relatively new over here. It has made it much more agreeable to go out for a meal, for instance, because you're not going to get smoked upon. I still can't get used to the sight of hordes of people standing outside in the cold and rain puffing away. From a distance it looks threatening or something.

was reading some of the comments about smoking bans, Crossy it was a big hub hub here as well when smoking was banned in bars and pubs, all the owners said it would close them down, but guess what.... they are all still open and doing as much business as ever if not more
