a little bag, a lot of weight.
* groan * have been staring at the grid for 10mins, thinking ya5 NOT there, it's a phantom.....how wrong can one be?
hehe, good one, melon - it is a weird one, I agree
or - read what you will into this cryptic clue: is it or is it not a case of looking backwards?
tx rbud.
ugh weird thanks melon
grannyrose ya5 is a familiar word.

still here, have been on the phone
flosey, had the AH here tonight -- thank god that's over!
ah jilli, it shouldn't have to feel that way
who phones you at this hour, flosey?
we had a cancellation today
Alley, her bf was taken to hosp. tore a toenail off
morning all
I mean having it at night
Hi sprite!
haven't had one at night, I said I'd have it here if necessary but I don't like driving after dark on our dark roads
morning Sprite
oh, didn't even get around to changing icon
*hugs flosey and jilli*
there was no choice -- these are the ones who wanted to be given dinner. They got dessert and decaf
30 to go... phew
me neither, flosey!
hugs back sprite
neither did I, but I have a way to go yet
well I certainly would not make dinner for them
ok now I am too curious to keep still. What or who is the AH?
sprite, bugsaw picked the horseshoe crab too> I don't think you've met her, have you?
now I haven't, but that is great! Isn't it fascinating?
Alice Hammett bridge competition
lol, now here's an example of getting a perfect answer to a question and still not knowing anything more :) Btw jilli, love your animal and write-up!
awww and flosey, yours too :D :D
lol
ty sprite :)
so... Alice Hammett is a special bridge competition that you want to work extra hard for, though you do not like it?
incidentally, the two old timers are dancing, not fighting as may seem
sorry folks, was distracted by a wood-pigeon fledgling, fell out of tree, and it couldn't work out how to get back up.
hello sprite
oh I saw they were dancing right away!
aww rose... how did it end?
good, sprite
evening :)
hi rose!!
hello mrP
hi there mrp
hubby put it back up, i hope the parents find it....we have feral cats around here, was worried it would be eaten.
well done rose and rosehubby
I had to do more cooking than I like for AH tonight, that's all, sprite, because our opponents could only come at night. I like to play bridge, not spend hours worrying about what to feed the players, and cooking worries me.
hey mrp...i know, i know, still no facebook, i will do it sometime, i promise
hi mrp!
me too, jilli! *hugs* thanks for explaining and I hope the game was worth it!
jilli, why wouldn't you just buy something?
yes, hope you won!
we did win
good :D
GOOD!
is ok rose... take your time.
we have had a sole wood-pigeon in our garden for 2 years, he/she apparently has found a mate, so we are watching very intently to see how it all turns out.
for dessert? Hard to find something interesting. And my effort was a mess -- a fruit cobbler.
sounds yummy
aww rose, garden romance
any left, jilli? I'd love to taste that.
sounds yummy? the wood pigeon or the fruit cobbler?
don't think I'd care for wood pigeon mrp, thanks anyway
must say... not much yum on a wood pigeon!
jilli, there are lots who bye cookies, or whatever
* giggle * sprite, with all their carrying-ons, hubby once shouted to them, hey you two, get a room..
It didn't turn out very well. Long story. And it was not really appreciated -- complaints about starting too late, not wanting dessert or coffee (but when they heard it was decaf it was accepted.
well ljilli, that's just darn rude!!!!!
(((((jilli)))) sandwiches and bought cookies for next time, they aren't worthy of your efforts!
flosey, it will be bought cookies for afternoon games. Remember these people wanted DINNER.
ok, they can have soup with it next time. From a can.
They didn't get dinner! One of them was nice and the other one thawed later on.
we had a funny experience once, was to be at lunch! and they were in a hurry, etc. etc. so my p and I suggested we'd bring our own sandwich - hahaha, misunderstanding, seems they thought we'd supply sandwiches for all
lol a nice opportunity to learn and share *evil grin*
Oh, it's too compicated to explain here, but my partner has a husband who wanted a proper dinner so there was no way I was serving sandwiches or anything else.
it was hard to repress giggles
jilli, they should be happy they got to play with you and be with you. I'd eat old bread just to be able to do that.
suppress?
refrain
it's late and I'm tired
you were perfectly clear, flosey.
can i grab some help for aa4,4. ut4,5 ty4,6 plx
^.^
well, never mind -- no more evening games at my place and I hope nowhere else. BTW flosey -- you'll be here next Thursday afternoon (for cookies or something)
the first one is a plural sound, missO
must get to bed, carpet bowling tomorrow morning - another thing, I thought cb was something just old people did hahahaha, what am I!
Lol flosey!
lol flosey, you are a darling!
looking forward to it jilli
and for the last one, just add vowels, missO
0_0 oh...
ty4 is a type of salmon
oh is close, missO, lolllll
ty sprite lol
gawd
24 words left
and for the ut add it is ** good ** new.
wtg MissO!
good words to remember, btw, MissO... they are babblets... very common in grids, though not outside babble.
ah... i see... *cries* ty Jilli
ty4 is fairly well-used in these parts, sprite -- salmon country here
yayy the UT can go and bury itself
I stand corrected :D Though I remember it myself as being a babblet.
There's even a Ty4 Kennel Club, giving dog shows.
and what do the dogs do then? Jump over ty4s?
..
:(:(:(
tyel
oh god
lord, take me now
s'ok, omni, we all do it!!!
silly sprite :D
;)
Nanna! come save me! he mean words and babblets are hurtin muh brain!
not a word anyway
hey sprite, maybe the dogs swim upstream and leap over boulders
no but you are close, missO. Just change last letter into a vowel, as I ordered. *yes ma'ammmmmmm*
oh wow rose, now that would be something!
you could time them to see if they do better than the ty4's
would I survive it when I said we could compare their taste? *ducks deeeeep*
ROFL!!!!
yyyuuuuuccckkkkk
couldn't help myself. But would never do it. Love dogs too much.
Kaschwing! ^____^
you there, jilli? should i be ducking or something?
I'm dumbstruck
just a small payback for the vegemite comment.
*grins*
<throws dropbears> I'ma defend my homeland! :P
but that upstream thing could be added to Agility competitions, maybe, lol!
oh, no...the dreaded drop bears!!!!
Jilli, there are fair sized salmon swimming up the creek on our property - first time in many years
*starts training Terra right away*
dropbears? Ok missO, please tell me.
i reckon Granny... i think i may need to load the drop bear cannon :P
oh dear, are dropbears worse than vegemite?
ahahaha
only if they fall on your head, jilli
wow, flosey -- are you allowed to catch any?
lol, Jilli, could anything be/
no, flo!!!
when i get back to melbourne ill see if i can take a photo of one :P
I think they heard about the competition from the dogs, jilli, and couldn't go down without a fight
Marmite is close
what are dropbears, missO?
sprite , we have tall tales in Oz land, which we tell our junior cub scouts on their first night camp.
ill see if i can find a pic... they love eatin tourists... they get them more than our Ivan Mallats...
they come up to spawn jilli, don't know how good they'd be
http://features.cgsociety.org/galleryi mages/5225/Drop_Bear.jpg something like this.
oh yes, past their best by date
oh lovely, rose! Like 'better watch out for the dropbears!' ?
they're pretty savage
one is that drop bears drop out of the trees at night, and you have to be ready to duck. makes interesting night walks with newbies
remember, I'm from Ontario, we had an occasional fresh brook trout, but for the most part, no fish
how big is a drop bear?
wow, not pretty
*giggles*
about the size of a koala, i think
oh yuk, MissO!
looks like one of the trolls that Rien Poortvliet drew.
hmmm, that could hurt
i heard they grow bigger, depending on their consumpton
do they eat vegemite?
with a boy scout or two behind the buttons it might grow as big as a panther
must get to bed, goodnight all
nah they hate vegemite
you have to put it on your face and behind your ears befre you go out bush
sleep well, flosey, and dream of sweet gummy bears, not of dropbears.
oh, that too, omni. forgot to tell you folks, their favorite meal is newbie junior cub scouts * grins *
now that does sound much more interesting Sprite, will do
poof!
nite flosey, hope it's a good one for you
they just like boy scouts, puppy dogs, etc?
yeah, we often have hjikers and scout troops go missing..
Night flosey :)
just, boy scouts and newbie girl guides.
woot, one 7 down, one to go.
the newbie's eyes get as big as saucers when you tell them. it's hard not to laugh sometimes.
and then, when they are older and they know the truth, they will tell the next generation the same story :)
can you picture it? a trail of 6-7 ear olds, with their little penlight torches shining up into the trees.
aw sweet! And you hiding a wicked grin in the darkness.
morning all....what is it with the little grids lately??
exactly, sprite. we all have grown up with stories of the dropbears.
and VEGEMITE!!!!
ooooh drop bears...dangerous them..lol
so... Oz is a REAL place? I always thought it was only a fairytale place.
hi rolin
my mother loves marmite, puts it on everything veggie like. I don't know vegemite.
hi rolin!
well besides the leprechauns, dropbears and oompaloompas in winter...
ROFL sprite, one day, i'm gonna get you for that!!
marmite...eeewwwww,,,*shudder*...black solty syrup
oompahloompahs... now I'd love a couple of those.
*grins at rose*
lol
vegemite, stronger version of marmite, for wimps!
promite is the poms thing i think
marmite doesnt taste like anything
and it doesnt drip granny
trick is to use it sparingly, it's not like chocolate spread or peanut butter.
lol, that invoked in me a picture of someone trying out marmite/vegemite in such a spread.
my brother, when he was 2 years old, decided to spread his own toast with it, when mum turned around, he had the WHOLE jar on one slice of toast.
ahaha
very neatly mounded, it was.
arghhhh yeah exactly that picture. Did he survive, rose? And did he ever even look at the stuff again?
eeewww
man, you go toast some bread then butter, vegemite, more butter, more vegemite, cream cheese omnomnom
sprite, we all love the stuff, but let's just say, my brother has a very healthy respect for it.
I bet :)
miss..cream cheese and vegemite???
oh, omni, i'm with you gal....* drooling * brb, going to check fridge.
I am willing to try. Just leave out the butter.
yup, cream cheese there, now for the toast
morning all......just lookied in and saw the convo about marmite, I'm having marmite on toast right now
are you all eating it in the sin bin? :)
a new product has hit our supermarket shelves. it's vegemite and cream cheese pre-mixed. problem, ratio not right, too much vegemite, not enough cheese.
i heard about that granny...and all the fuss over the name
I'm not touching it
i cant believe i cant have 'laddy'
yep, rolin. some wanted to call it parmite, as opposed to marmite
i think there was also Imite or something like that, really weird names.
vegemite....is iconic.... it must remain unadukterated
I'm going to have some nice banana and milk
totally agree, i say, mix your own, it's the only way to get the ix right for your individual palate
oooohhhh, yum, jilli, with nutmeg?
hi everyone
heyandree
hmmm -- good idea, granny!
hi andree
hey Andree:)
sleep well, jilli, and enjoy your nightly snack

Exactly. The very day I have time, Dr-G gives us a measly wee grid.

Time for another visit Rolin?

Hi rolin Sounds good Haz.

bloody hell...and its only november...looks like a 'fun' summer for you
sydney only reached about 24c today
nah i love my oldies, nothing better than looking back through the photos and seeing my mother with bright pink lippy, huga afro, deniem jackate, fluro lycra leggings, leather mini and dad in brown leather flares, a wasit coat, bare chest, hair down to his bum sweeped up in a red bandana at the forehead and no shoes... hold the baby in rainbow blanket...
or google licketysplit
only up to 31 now Rose. Thank goodness we don't live in Adelaide
i turned out rather well... a goth girl with green hair, the ability to recite war of the worlds, every pink floyd album and rocky horror picture show in my sleep :P
You're talking about these temperatures just to toy with us Brits, aren't you?

i love summer, hate winter
i totally agree granny...which is why i roll my eyes when ppl ask...but dont you miss the aussie weather...
<high fives Rolin> damn straight mate... couldnt have done better
You're trying to get us to feel sorry for you? I do understand, it's just that when skies are grey here, it seems impossible that elsewhere skies are blue and the weather is warm.
Don't mind the cold so much it is the galeforce winds and torrential rain they are forecasting for the next couple of days :(
firewords :)
i dont like the heat... i love winter, ima winter baby... i cant believe melbourne gets so hot... i need to move back to WA.
WTG JILLI!!!

Congrats jilli!
Congrats Jilli!
omni..the only down side was a 4 year old son singing one of the more lurid songs done by red simmons.. to his grandmother on a road trip...
Congratulations, jillibus.

Thanks, all! It's a bit late, I know, but I've posted an icon clue
he would love it then haz, we spend a great deal of time outdoors
I looks like it has stopped raining here so I am going to scoot, need to run some errands before the bad weather arrives. Back to babble later.

Well, goodnight all! Have a nice chat ;)
*all the way..thats where they go*.. that would have gone down well....so to speak..
We'd probably be okay as long as we avoided really warm times. He just has a thing about fresh air and plenty of it, almost claustrophobic but not quite.
Goodnight, jillibus.

good morning friends - okay, fess up - how many HP fans are bummed enable won't take "veela"?
I am not a morning person at all so going from horizontal to vertical, and leaving my nest, is always a challenge.

Hi Trif.

well that's it folks. half way and have to get moving. have a nice walk scrabbler
think ill keep ff then
Bye Doren!
25 left and NBT--time for breakfast and then a shower.
Enjoy the day everyone!
My poor friend is devastated. Her parents decided to clean her house with her as she is having a bub soon. Her parents threw out, gone to the tip 20 years worth of photos and newspaper clippings and letters as they perceived it as junk
took me a while to find the fancy boat, had to think of the amreican spelling and it just wouldnt come
How awful herin! What were they thinking!
a good clean out by a outside party, too easy to turn into a hoarder
Well according to her it was according to their values. Crossy these were photos and newspaper clippers of her
Yes Fm it is awful as she said she feels like its a fire situation. All gone
well if they are all neat and in binders, that would be nice then the parents are wrong to toss them
It was in a big box. Clearly photos. Not junk
ahh
woohoo! don't have to go to work again today!!
then if i were her,id change the locks and not let mumsy and dadsy in
add an s crossy and you have a grid word
all!
And she was trying to get them into albums after she had scanned them which she was doing slowly
LITLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE
HERIN!!
ty fm;))
BRB
I just don't know what to say to her its so sad
LB I have had a lot of issues with FB I am not ignoring people
guess i don't need to buy a vowel today!
didn't think for second that you were ignoring me!
herin - forgive me for butting in, but all might not be as lost as she thinks! Newspaper archives are often on disk or microfilm at the library, or newspaper offices themselves. Many times other people have photos of the same events we do, and copies can be made.
it takes some leg work, but most photos are never actually lost.
Trifs its all at the tip. ITs all to hard for her. Lots of her photos are pre digital including people that she doesn't have words to
that is what I am saying, herin - if it's predigital, it still exists somewhere-
if she really wants them back, she can find them, in some form. do her parents express regret at what happened, or are they just "oh well" about it?
Trifs it doesn't excist no negatives and no one had them from school days.
I think her parents tossed them due to some very drunken pics.
how can no other school mates have photos from the old days?
morning all.
I wanted a bigger grid today :(
HI Peri
Trifs she doesn't have contact with them.
yes, peri, the grids do all seem to be from liliput this week.
But she could contact them, herin, or at least the school, and take digital copies, if it was important enough to her. i guess what I am saying is that she has a decision to make - she can rail and scream and mourn what is lost, or she can take steps to replace what she can, and yes, mourn the loss of what is left, but at least be proactive to fix it.
well put trif
due to several disaters growing up 95% of our families (early years) photos are gone.its amazing how many were in the hands of aunts and uncles and various other relatives and friends overseas and here.after15 years ive managesd to recover almost 50% from what i recall of the albums in my youth
are all the o words oa's?
yes trif
Unfortunatly for her she is not in contact and these aren't school photos. They are personal photos taken from camps. Back in the days when only the rich kids had camaras
well done crossy! it's not as good as having them all, of course, but it is better than having none. Many years ago I found a box of photos of school mates of my grandfather, long deceased. I put a notice in the paper with the names of the boys, and I ended up sending some out to VERY grateful families
one of the women who wrote was so funny! the photo I had turned out to be of her dad, whom she had always known as a bald man. The photo I had of him was from the 1920s, and he had this big ol' oiled up pompadour thing.....she was delighted!
lol!
crossy, did you read the Harry Potter series?
i recently had a pic of my grampa sent over from the U.K..same as your pic trif.up till then i had never seen a pic of my granfather with hair lol
ni,the wife just keeps re-reading it.wont let me near it lol
ah.
ill be getting my own e-book reader this year and can just download a second copy:)
ooooooo sneaky!
the only way to fly,the mrs has almost 200 books on hers so she is good to go for the rest of the year;)
where do you stand on downloading free books - pirating, as it were?
i buy books from the sony site, and there are many free domain sites for open books
gutenburg.com
is just one
I was having this discussion with someone the other day....he downloads books from whereever he can get them, always unpaid. his point is that if he could get the book free from a library, and no one would mind, why shouldn't he be able to "pirate" it.
i chose the middle ground trif
any book over 50 years old becomes open for the public to download
Cross there is a new kindle out is that any good?
I am not sure where I stand. Love the library, myself, and never thought of it as denying an author anything....but after speaking with him long enough, started to feel guilty about library use! then I figured the environmental impact was enough to merit the library
and I am too broke to buy that many books, so the library it is!
if you live in the states,it is fine
because of my wifes vision problems i bought the sony reader and pay for new material and the ones whose copyright has run out i can load for free
how much of the internet is available to your wife, with her vision issues?
authors stand to make more money by the issue of properly purchaced e-books than they ever did by paper books.with the many handicap settings in windows she can manage from 2 feet away
excellent, crossy! another interesting convo I heard the other day -- on NPR or summat. Talking about how the net has fundamentally changed deaf people's life, but has pretty much left the visually impaired out in the cold.
there are programs out there now trif..i have a speech to type program in for the mrs,and windows can also speak back any typed line of text
good to know! :)
so a properly set up computer can be beneficial to the blind as well
wait, so your computer will read, say, a wikipedia article, or news feed back to your mrs.?
yes indeed
that is so cool! does she have to highlight it first, or will it just crack on and read it?
but i have to set it up ahead of time, ive yet to sync the speech to type program directly with the url box
you are SO getting my vote for "Hubs of the year!"
so with her limited vision it works well, she can see enough to type in urls, hilight the first paragraph, then it will read back the entire text
aww shucks;))
you can see many of theese usefull settings under start/control panel/ease of acess
btw, my previous nominee was also married to a visually impaired woman, who had lost all her sight due to diabetes. she had been a quilter, so her husband spent HOURS cutting out fabric shapes for her, helping arrange them so she could piece them, and THEN he cut out pieces of moleskin for her to place on the pieced quilttops and hand quilt around. THAT, my friends, is true, true love.
he gets my vote as well
woot Dirty Harry is on tv and i just squeeked
LOL herin!
They both get my vote..and Hello everyone!
wait - is "squeeked" some weird aussie slang for something uh, else, or is it just the noise? LOL
morning annie!
Hi ANnie

Aww triffies that is too cute
-----> noticing herin not providing actual answer....lol!

The frustration you are experiencing is not unusual. ENABLE is a capricious arbiter. It matters not what is or is not a word. The only thing that matters is whether ENABLE will accept what you have entered.
zooz.. this is news to me... clueing by assigning numbers to letters... there are lots of examples from the other members on how to clue and be creative about it....
wow - i just did my first ever puzzle without getting any clues from anyone!

This one's harder than I thought...
*gasp* I just realized! this is my FIRST grad-level actual PAPER!
did you resolve your issue with the fellow student?
hi gadget
hey gadget!
You're a grad student real now, Stiddie!
I am down to 33 so far... and slowing down.
I did jmc... thanks. It was a difficult meeting and not fun, but I am glad I pushed for it.
33 for me too
go jmc go! go gadget go!
good for you stiddie.
(go go gadget babble?)
laddy should be a word -- isn't that what you call a boy?
clue for the sa7, plz?
the biggest benefit is it gave the other person the chance to work on his own issues and see how being a male can be intimidating. It also gave me a chance to work on my issues and permission to express some confusion over conventions with which I am not familiar.
hey LBD
first part of indian maiden who help lewis and clark + heavy weight
hi lbd
sa 7? really?
I have an st 7
thanks for the sa 7!
what conventions?
ty, JMC! hi everyone!

*rides on tricycle waiting to hear about conventions*
sorry!!!!!
the ideas of how men express themselves in conversation and when working in groups. As the only woman in that group of 4, I spoke and acted the same way I would with other women -- which the men couldn't understand and were upset by.
hey TLLC
pb for u tllc!
hi hows things?
hi TLLC
phoenix!
true -- have you read men are from mars and women are from venus (or the other way around i forget)
tulsa!
when I expressed my need to take a few more minutes and work independently they were taken aback, thinking I was refusing to work with them.
interesting dilemma, Stiddy (and hi sweety)
I have not read that book, but that is what my Tom said when I told him about the meeting! LOL
phone damn it
dam nit? you got lousy again jmc? *wicked mama look*
yay! bottom row grey!
I think you'll find some men, especially those who are not comfortable with women, will come across as being asses. intimidation is their means of being in control of themselves as well as the situation.
Heyas kids ..
hey tor!!! ((hugs))
TORGIEE!!
yes, and there are some women who are just as bad. My problem seems to be that I am surprisingly unshy about expressing opinions and needs, while the stereotypical woman just keeps quiet and does her best...
I didn't find this true until I started working on my piled higher and deeper degree. Some of the males were more intimidated by me than I was of them, and they pretty much let me know that I was suppose to be submissive.
Yup, Stiddy. and I think that's especially true in education. sad but true
ah. didn't know you were a "fud" *grin* some of the nicest people I know have spent time in the ivory tower.
nope, never finished. shy by about 9 credits and the dissertation.
croosy love a strong wonam who knows what she wants and where she is going, there are too many vapour headed, slillicone breated mouth breathers out there for my liking:)
okay, now I HAVE seen everything... a young woman with nothing on her lower body but nylons (black with white upper portion) and a see-through net slip of some sort... and a heavy jacket and cap. *sigh* undergrads.
I never wanted the degree, kinda fell into the classes by a job. decided i needed to work for real money and not for credits.
breasted even
hello dear cross! *tosses bacon
ah. ABD. my mother is there too.
mm see stid knows how to treat a fella;))
Hi Crossy! I love you!!!
howdy ibd;((())
and not shy about it, either! LOL
my mrs proposed to ME, i had no choice but to surrender gracefully:))
don't change a hair for anyone but you and your Tom, Stiddy.
crossy is very wise!
back
front
I proposed to my Tom, too. though I think it was a foregone conclusion anyway.
thanks LBD (((hugs)))
she said,'we have been toghether for 2 years so i already own you buddy"
oh! I have a weight-loss announcement!
my husband proposed to me in the middle of trial
rofl cross!
tell us stid
hm. did you get him out of jail, or did you have to have your wedding night in the trailer in the yard?
he proposed in the lawyers lounge
oaky doaky. so I had an ortho appointment on Monday and they weighed me. I knew I had lost weight because nearly everything I own clothes-wise has gotten too big.
I am now within about ten pounds of "acceptable" and maintainable, and withint 20 of my high school weight!!!
congrats, Stiddy!
which, considering I was still working off being 50 pounds overweight two years ago feels pretty nice.
whoo hoo stiddie!
i think thats the wifes evil plan, lost 20 pounds or so,that way she can go shopping for a whole new wardrobe(
*winks at jmc* of course he did, dear.
*thinks fondly of when she was only 50 lbs overweight*
he was very sweet and told the judge a couple of months later about it
i hate shopping for clothes. i'm not a size zero and i prefer to cover my body parts so they aren't exposed at any time!
I am the same way LBD -- turtlenecks and "mom" jeans for me!
although... I don't mind pretty skirts when they are long.
my mood about it changes -- sometimes it is fun to buy clothes
yup, prefer my sweats!
i don't mind buying clothes for hubz, or the grands, but for myself, i'm too picky and i just don't like it.
I liked sweats a few years ago, but people didn't take me seriously, so I got rid of them. Now building a teacher-appropriate collection of "pants"
brb
well, down to 29 and holding. might be time for the list.
yep. first word a fish *sigh* oh well...
I am trying to hold on for the afternoon class. another 25 minutes...
32 left
go jmc go!
go stid, go jmc!
one of the things i like about my job is I wear jeans everyday -- even at a lot of the talks
I have my dress t-shirts from Guatemala
go stiddie go
sounds comfortable, jmc. I will probably wear jeans a bit when I actually teach-teach... once I am established in the school that is!
jeans are okay. i wear those to work daily. with t-shirts, and an overshirt if i have to work the floor. but dressing up...not likely.
*giggle* "dress t-shirts*
depends on the school -- some schools still have dress codes
DA 6/30 please?
next photo I post (if I ever get a new camera) I will have one on for you stiddie
the rural schools around here are mostly just glad to have teachers...
also depends on the age group. I think you could probably get away with it with elementary kids, but jr and sr, probably not.
thanks jmc
ptero da6, stid

Great news everybody! DH's Aunt Jean saw the ortho doc today and her wrists are all healed! She moved back home on Monday too; now her 91 year old sister is here to "help" her (her sister uses a walker after a big back surgery last winter.)
yeah!
hi jmc. How are you doing tonight?
okay thanks nef
Yeah for Aunt Jean!!! we'll miss her in the chog!
She's a pretty neat lady. The dog and I both miss her being here
that didn't seem like 6 weeks, nef. she's a fast healer!
Lbd, it's been since Sept. 20th! She's a fast healer (once she stopped over-doing it)
hello all!
stiddie
wow, doesn't seem like that long ago. but i'm sure you know the facts.
Hi again, Stiddy
Hi Stid!
lbd, she didn't get into helping with the game right away. She watched from across the room at first.
that is how i sucked wht in
LA 5/16? please?

i can't even blame the chog
What do you need?
hiya RU!
jmc, are you saying he fits in your *fitted* flak jacket? ;-)
Ask and then you can blame us.
I have all sorts of sizes of flack jackets nef
No she gave me the baggy loose one.
i tried on a kevlar vest...those things are heavy and very uncomfortable!
She kept the stylin' one with the referees stripes for herself.
watch out for ru he is being grammar police tonight
lbd, my nephew just sent out an email saying he's getting married next summer at a resort on Flathead lake and wants to know how many rooms to reserve for the weekend!

I din't know if you knew where Hamilton was, so i used the general location of Missoula.

how was class, stid?
my computer is acting up. HUGE lag. I think I'll turn it off and just ...
it was okay LBD. I was not comfortable at all, and sort of faded in and out. But I was there. So I guess that counts for something.
the two classmates who read my paper liked it and had good suggestions.
your hip bothering you, or the class?
not comfortable? How come?
I have been sick for a bout three days. tummy trouble. I think I'm either really hungry (possible) or I ate something I am allergic to. Again.
the class would have been fun if I didn't hurt.
too bad stiddie
da6/30
hurting takes the joy out of everything.
Sorry to hear that stid. Are you feeling better now?

It wasn't you, it was the dinosaurs.

hello all, my computer wouldn't load for a while.
but it was LOTS of sites, not just this one.
must be the site, i've got chog lag...chlag
I *think* it's a bit better now
The intertubes were clogged.
earlier I was paying bills online and the darn site timed out before paying bills. THAT was frustrating!
that would be frustrating, nef! (I let Tom handle the finances...)
evenin' y'all
hiya Pini!
Hi Pini! How are you?
not too bad...yourself?
hey pini. I survived... *happy mama grin*
doing okay. I broke the news earlier that DH's Aunt Jean saw the ortho doc today and she's healed! She went back to her home on Monday.
yeah to both of you!!!
I am so happy about Aunt Jean. It's no good to have a painful hip.
I really enjoyed having her here. I miss her hanging outwithus
can always invite her back!!!
Stid, what is wrong with your hip? I had bursitis at one point and ended up having steriod injections in it and they really helped a lot
the ortho I saw (apparently one of the big names in our area) said he can't tell unless he does arthroscopy. I am reluctant to consider surgery like that (possible 3 months to full recovery) while I am in school. so am going to talk to my regular doc and ask if there are other things to consider before I opt for surgery. could be an inflammatory process though, bursitis or rheumatis'
Oh, Pini, don't worry. We see her a lot; but it was kind of fun lounging around in our robes and playing games (like Babble)
could always ask her to just move in and rent a room from ya, Nef! :)
LOL, Pini! I wouldn't charge her!
Time to go. Night all.

Jelllen sounds fun. I just got of the phone to a class mate. Talked for an hour.oppsie
You know...thinking about it here, I should probably eat something for dinner other than M&Ms...just a thought...
mmmm M & M's are they peanut?

Hi, jilli!
it's done. There will be a revision due Dec 2, but I won't have it back for a week, so will rest up until then! LOL

How lovely, jellen!
Nope, no trade! lol
JIllie and stiddy
I am judging a practice high school debate tournament tomorrow.
So, a little break, stid?
It'll be FUN. REALLY. *figners crossed behind back*
LADY! where HAVE you been? ((((many many hugs and choclit))))
I used to judge high school debate...
stid, some day I'll har that you have nothing much to do but put your feet up with your laptop and just enjoy yourself.
hi herin :)
It gets the brain cells active, at least it did for me. :-)
I only do PuFo and StuCo... Public Forum and STudent Congress... I didn't do those when I was in high school, but got roped into judging a couple years ago
stid's brain cells never stop
round about middle of december, jill -- will have only housework (which currently languishes) and some reading to do then.
True, jilli!
that's not having nothing much to do but enjoy yourself, stid!
my brain cells have been resting all afternoon -- got home around 5:30 and just watching TV and catching up on email and such
about to turn in though, was just checking up on folks before I fall asleep.
I gather you got through this grid, stid?
yes, took about an hour all told I think
used the list when I hit about 20 today.
it wasn't too awful
wtg, genius!
hi guys back from laundry!
hey Lindy
now, Jill -- that's TOTALLY untrue! LOL
Lindy's back from laundry, whee!
Yes it is, stid!

stid, I love that pic of you and Tom -- and he's not only gorgoeus but such a nice guy
thanks jill -- that's why I am keeping it for a while. That was a lovely evening.
and now, since I am falling asleep sitting here and need to be up around 7, I shall bid you-all adieu. and au revoir. etc.

Had a nice Happy Hour with neighbours this evening.
Jilli, I refer to those as character-building experiences...
I haven't spoken in front of that many people before..it was exhilarating and nerve racking
how cute! lol

Ruru, I hesitate to ask but will anyway -- what's your opinion of the Naked Grape wines as vins ordinaires.

Years ago I was ageing some South African Drostdy-Hof Merlot and had to have some surgery. My son and his wife came to stay in my house and drank almost all my wine, including that. I was not happy. I now have one bottle, 2000 vintage.
