ty, have your sign rbud
I have 4 li's -- 2 5's and 2 4's

The b;s are brutal...

have 6 x bi, 1 x be, 2 ba 3 br, 1 bu
Actually you are right. It just looked German-like to me.
don't know cyber, just guessing
but then if you can have the li 5, why not the br 5 that rhymes?
have br x 5 so far, and bu x 3
6 x br
well, whoop-de-flippin'-do, just greyed my second tile. :(
5 bu's so far and 5 br's
4 ba's, be, 5 bi's, 3 br's and 3 bu's so far
6 br's...
5 ba's so far...
7 ba, 1 be, 6 bi, 6 br, 4 bu, 1 missing
B grayed
and the last b was what 2 letters, flosey?
bu5/16
I meant your last b? was that it?
(to complete the list you posted) :)

hi all - could I get a clue for the as6, it's my last a word
will you share a clue for the 8/9 combo ??
as6: smoldering fire contains *** + beer comes in a ***
ty buffgirl!
YW, Faith
thinking christine
thinking christine
tu + hook letter + garbage can + mr gore, then plural for 9
tu8: Middle Eastern headwear ****an + that movie was great - it was sensat*o***
Thank you -- tried to use that ending with the tri wotds - didn't work.
Time for a cuppa, back soon
hurry back christine
good morning babblers!
faith, you finished?
hello swmbo
how's the grid? I just started
not so bad
i am at work, so is is kind of hit or miss, sometimes I have to leave suddenly, other times I have long stretches of babbling
know that well, when at work same for me
what kind of work do you do?
what kind of work do you do grannyrose, or did I ask that already?
I am the night nurse at a nursing home
recovery room nurse,
mostly residents sleep all night, just hourly rounds etc.
that explains it then, swmbo! * grin *
Wow, both nurses LOL
Good morning, could I get a clue for ai6, please?
lots of nurses play this.
if i had it marc, you'd have it, sorry
the ai6 i have is spelled a lot like the act of pulling a baby out of a woman
plural
marc, what we breathe + **e cat sat on **e mat, then plural for the 6
I think it's airbun - that donut thingie for after an operation.
no wait, i ha ai5/12 which is similar to the g word that dewcribes the size of you waist. then plural
sorry about the typos
thanks got it
yw marc
i need the u (sounds like sesame street: anybody got a used u???)
I had a grandma Rose
that is the first u
ah, us granny rose's are a common lot!
un + a three toed sloth
a 3 toeed sloth eh?
a nurse who doesn't do crosswords? oh well.... un + 2 vowels
off the left U
yeah i do crosswords, just am not familiar with 3 toed sloths *shrug*
Where is that FISH???
* grin * just yankin' your lariat, hun.
sometimes it kills me, the words are RIGHT there
salmon? smoked or fresh?
we don't have lariats here, just plain ole ropes
two-toed
that would be the Atlantic Cod, a dying species
that'll do
babrab, according to my dictionary, it is a 3 toed sloth
so many words almost happened in this grid *sigh*
i see one of the tools of my trade LOL ur6/21
and it's plural
just so
i keep wanting to enter uddle
or dahlia
my phantom was tributary
bi***day
yup, that's another
dactyl was another one for me, nearly went nuts trying to make it " work "
as i said, so many words almost happened
the flippin' h kept getting in the way * grin *
yeah thatH isn't of much use in this grid is it?
so, swmbo, how big is the nursing home?
ummm.... there are 4 hy words
60 regular beds, 8 residential care, which are really people who can mostly care for themselves
it is a brand new facility, really nice
so not so bad, then? how many on with you?
1 RN (me), 1 LPN and 6 direct care givers, not bad at all
not a bad ratio, bet you're busy at 6am.
that is the night shift, lots more on during the day
how about you, what kind of facility and workload
actually, on a wing of 15, we have 3 people who need care at 6 AM by 2 people. the other wings are similar
we currently have only 3 theatres, and a 5 bay recovery room, new owners are about to build 8 theatres and a 30 bay room, hope i can retire before that happens.
this is right in melbourne?
what is the nurse patient ratio?
brady is not a word, can you imagine???
more on the outskirts. the new owners are converting our sister hospital into the biggest women's health facility in the southern hemisphere ( plus oncology ) everything else is to be at my hospital, including cardiac surgery.
any clues on the na6/24 would be greatly received...just can't find it anywhere!
during the night, 3 RN's for 10 patients, can go up to 13, we have an ER attached to our hospital.
I'll bet THAT can get pretty busy!!!
na + ***-***, a dance, + plural letter
thanks granny! now I can call it a night!
makes life interesting, especially when the hierarchy are cost-cutting, reduce the staff, then admit.
yw ddb
yeah, we have a big health care crunch here in canad too, except that it is all publically funded
my spelling has gone to the dogs
i work in a private hospital, the rules are always being bent
all hospitals here are public, but some nursing homes are for profit. not this one though thank goodness. things are a lot tighter in for profits
i do a lot of on-call, not a lot of the theatre suite staff are qualified for recovery.our anaesthetic nurses are Div2's, which means they aren't allowed to do recovery.
i am winding down my nursing career, i used to be the director at another nursing home, but the stress was too much. now I tuck the little old lawdies in to bed at night and pass out laxatives, life is good LOL
speaking of which, it is going on for 5 AM, time to go change beds and call in staff, nice chatting with you!
did 12 years of geriatric care earlier in my career, decided that was enough, re-trained in critical care, et voila!
take care swmbo, hope you have a restful day, nice talking to you
:)
2 RNs just called in sick for the dayshift, i'd better get on the horn!
that's a bummer, swmbo, trying to find staff can be really difficult.
anybody out there
hi... nose stuck in grid lol
hi volley and rose
howdy
I need help with the ca 7/44 please
that is exactly the one I am looking for right now... I'll let you know if I find it
Here is a clue. Meow, tweet!
fish slap.... compound word... and was looking at the wrong c ty hydra!!!
is there only one ca 7?
thanks hydra, got it
Hi volley, Button, granny, swmbo. I don't know how many. I only have the one.
tyhx so much I tend to miss the obvious ones
Just peeped at list. There are 3 ca7 words. One ca7,44 and two 7,32.
ty hydra
felinerobin
have that one and the one that reminds you of a red bird; missing the other one
last one is ca 6/21 with an extra vowel at the end
finally found all the h's...
g'morning
hi
Hello everyone
hi
hi
Struggled down to 30, enough for me now. Goodnight all
Good morning, everyone and good night, Lynxx
My goodness, what a sticky grid today.
And Lynxxx doesn't sound as if it opened up to much of anything either ... pulling teeth, I fear.
good morning babble friends! lots of opps to play "name that proper noun" today!
I feel as if I am talking to myself.
round 1: famous lion from CS Lewis story
Hello Merk and Trif. It's not the easiest grid today, although no doubt others will like it. It takes work.
What does the lion's name start with ... I haven't had my coffee yet. Read the book saw the movie, but am brain dead.
as5, merk
hey there haz!
Hello! I'm just passing through, chat's quiet at this time of day.
Morning Haz and Hi all
Good morning, FM.
Looking back at the log the verdit on the grid is yucky?
Back from my errands and now munching some taramasalata and pitta bread.
It's not one that would having you writing poems in praise, put it that way. It is interesting. Interesting is one of those words that can be taken whatever way you like.
When people say 'It was an experience,' nine times out of ten you know it's not one they're in a rush to repeat.
LOL OK I take your comment advisedly
A bit like one of the challenges on 'Im a Celebrity...'
That's started again, hasn't it? Joy.
Oh, yes, ty.
name that proper noun: indian race that once numbered in the hundreds of thousands, now down to just one reservation on the island of dominica
Yes and Jordan is going back in.
'I'm a face you vaguely remember from the dim and distant past, now watch my every moves and see if you can summon up interest in giving me a job.'
You're right, Haz. I'm an early riser and always feel like I am alone here. Others awake are eating lunch , supper, or getting ready for bed.
Don't know Trif.
Googling feverishly...
Carib!
ding ding ding!!!
And that reminds me of chocolate.
good 'ole google
repeat round 1: name that famous lion from cs lewis story
I did try caribu in the vague hope that it might be accepted.
Aslan!
I think that's caribou, haz..
This is far better than housework.
and ding ding ding again for haz! well done!!!
I knew that one too but Haz typed faster than me.
I know, but I hoped Enable might have been in its more forgiving phase.
conciliatory ding ding ding for fmitch too!
enable has a forgiving phase?
too kind :)
morning all
I'm an optimist, Trif. Sometimes it accepts variations in spelling, I thought I'd blaze a trail for caribu.
morning blue! did it get any warmer where you are?
Good morning, blueheron.
BRB phone.
how's the grid today?
Interesting.
it has a tu4 that should tell you all you need to know....
yes it did Trif. yesterday was 58
All the Brits will only need the mention of Henry Cooper and Kevin Keegan to get br4/7 - the smell of men in the seventies.
lol haz, we had that delightful scent ourselves
I still think it's out there
Some things are best consigned to history.
still wafting around, enhancing chest hair and gold chains....
nehru jackets
Perms.
flowerpower
or was that the 60"s?
Just checked your age, blue, to see how far back our reminiscing can go. Late sixties for the flower power.
name that proper noun 3: surgeon from Holby City
Back again, and laughing at the memoreis of br4/7
yes I was just a young thing then...lol
You watch Holby City?
hi fm
Hi blue
no
when we can get it....BBC America has basically given up at this point...nothing but cash in the attic and you are what you eat, how clean is your house, and the devil (david dickinson) 12 hours a day. most disappointing
how about hells kitchen?
yes, that too.
anyway, the answer was Abra
I haven't watched Holby in ages, only surgeon I can think of is Mr Griffin, although there was one played by Dennis Lawson whose name has escaped me.
gordon ramsey is a pip
BBC America sounds like the scrapings of the barrel.
Oh he's not in it any more.
I HEART Denis Lawson SO MUCH - I met him when I was about 17, and he wrote me a lovely letter in response to a fan letter I sent him (be kind, I was 17...) and he could NOT have been nicer.
Trif, did you ever get 'Cranford' with Judi Dench and Eileen Atkins? They've done a Christmas one which will air this year.
Although Eileen, for obvious reasons, will not appear.
Can't wait for that Haz, the series was soooo good.
I know. I have it on DVD to watch over again.
nope. honestly, the channel has really hit the skids. I think they only air the cheapest stuff they can get, and they literally show 11 episodes of the same thing every day. Hold on, I will do a quick count of today's offerings....
Where's Ata when I need her so I can talk Dr Who after last night special.
The original, I mean.
Dr Who changed last night, didn't he?
I caught a glimpse of David Tennant looking worried.
No that dxoesn't happen till the next series but it wsa excellent last night, very dark and quite different to the usual style.
Oh, so he gets to be himself for a while longer.
Does his Scottish accent ever come through?
breakfast, bbl
Bye Merk.
Not that you would notice.
Bye Merk
Well I had better press on have quite a bit of work to do today. TTFN
Toodle-oo FM. I should go as well. Things to do.
today's delightful offerings: 4 How Clean is Your House, 4 Gordon Ramsey shows, 2 how clean is your house, 3 cash in the attic, 3 antique roadsows, 3 top gear, and thank GOD some BBC world news, which I will actually watch
Antiques Roadshow is fine occasionally, you wouldn't want to watch three in a row.
sigh
I'm surprised at the Gordon Ramsey things, he usually appears on commercial TV over here rather than BBC.
BBC america used to be so good! this is a typical line up now. it's desperate
I wonder what's happened?
Who do we blame, BBC or the Americans?
Silly question, of course. FM's bound to be at fault somewhere.
programming manager, I think
A quick good morning to all. I hit the snooze alarm too many times and lost valuable Babble time. College nephew woke me at 1:30 AM to talk--he was crying, sad, mixed up.
I think the almighty dollar is to blame - they will run whatever is cheapest to syndicate
Well, it's no comfort but BBC over here is much better!
Hello, Scrabbler.
if they would give us better, we would happily watch it, I promise!
morning scabbler
There's a new David Attenborough series called 'Life', it's pretty brilliant. Maybe they'll take pity and send it across.
morning scrabb
bus stop shuffle - back in a few
Anyway, sorry to run but I must get on with my chores. Bye!
Hi blueheron--one of my favorite birds, and seen frequently when I kayak
Bye Hazel
bye haz..nice chatting with you about the 70"s
I must leave for work. Bye all. Enjoy the day.
bye scrabb

German pronouns
Puffdaddy i4/6 (German for 'I, me, myself) put plural it.
Hi Jac
In reality, it's a fish disease.
Hi Annie
Hi Jacula
Hi all, btw.
hey jac!!
Hi Herin
HOwdy.
HOwdy.
see so excited i said it twice
sorry to say I'm still lost on the i clues.
here's fun: tertiare got her report card friday, and included was a note from the teacher: see me, Monday morning, 9:30.
took german eons ago, my brain is dead
oh dear. Is she introuble?
no idea, but it seems unlikely they are calling me in to tell me she is the best student they have ever had, and couldn't wait to tell me.
poor little girl. she tries so hard....
O dear. Someone slipping?
blueheron - think of the martial art Tai *** now move the letters of the *** part around and add a consonant.
Well you can try all you like but that doesn't mean diddly to some teachers. I am lucky I have one that cares
school is very hard for ter. she has a lot of learning issues, and she has really struggled more this past year due to - well, you know what.
tx jac! for some reasin I wa s stuck on iben.
took forever lol but got it thanks
reason
y/w Puffdaddy.
Is she getting help? I mean does she have a chaplin she can talk to that kind of thing, different teaching style? Some learn by being told others by written direction
yes herin, but I guess she is going to need more than she has been getting. poor thing...i worry so much for her future
good morning and hi Trif- just catching up with the chat - is this your first meeting with the teacher this year?
no, second jbv.
oh, OK, I was going to say don't forget these meetings are also your opportunity to bring information to the teacher, instead of always the other way around
Sometimes that is good. Don't worry. If she has to take it part time or what ever so be it. Get her checked for dyslectia
I've been on both sides (parent and teacher) at different times- it can be tense. The main thing is to problem solve together
ooh, that is a good point! thanks for that.
morning all
what grade, may I ask?
morning hego!
Hi my Brookln beauty.
WISC See if you can get her to sit this test. My friends boy has an odd form of dyslexia were he understands it all but can't write it down. SImple instance He knows in his head that it is a blue table but can't put to paper Blue Table
oops Brooklyn
HI JBV Hego
hi herin, and Annie and hego
Hi JBV
Trifioso - It is interesting that the teacher calls the time and parents are expected to show up. I like that!
hi god and jbv
hi blue
and hego!
Hi
Hi
hi blue
dang it the couch ate my remote
They're voracious herin
Wasn't the couch scratch that my large marg arse was hiding it

Congrats, Jacula!!!
seeya jac
Yay jac!!!!!!! and bye
Yah Jac. Come to my house and vacuum whilst you are at it
what does the 9 start with?
No idea
sorry, fell in the grid for a moment....tertiare is in fifth grade this year....she has a horrible time writing things down, herin, and we are looking at dysgraphia as one of her issues. I also like that the teacher told me when and where to show up, godthaab
Trifs as I said we have the WISC test here its great for discovery what odd quirks kids have
Trif, have to go soon - I don't know if you saw my last post - stay calm, focus on problem solving together
I will def ask about it.
yes, thanks, jbv
the teacher should be willing to make accommodations - even with out an IEP - students need special differentiated approaches
hi Annie. it's a tu9. I peeked.
annnnnnnnnnnnnd I wish i could learn via osmasis
thanks hego
{Yawn} morning all!
for example, if she is having trouble taking notes, or writing down homework assignments, does she have a friend or buddy the teacher can pair her up with, someone she can call at home, does the teacher post the homework on a website, etc etc
your always welcome Annie
Hi Caree
((frantically scribblng down jbv's post....)))
morning car
morning car!
in my sons IEP, was written he tried to take his own notes..but had a notekeeper friend whose notes were photcopied and put in with his notes..daily
does she have only one teacher - if not, it is also helpful to hear the others' point of view - she may have a music/art/computer teacher who thinks she is doing just fine
at least then I could help him study
no, she has 3 teachers, plus the various specials teacher - art, music, gym
It helps me to record the teacher
so is this meeting with the team?
I am a student now
that way I am not distracted when I listen to it later
Night all.
night herin
that may be helpful in college, sue, but in 5th grade, we are hoping the teacher is not lecturing at length
nite nite herin, and sleep well!
nite herin
true
I think the study partner is great, they also become an accountability partner
PB for you, sue
LOL - I thought you meant tape the teacher at the meeting today!
anyway, Trif, good luck - have to go now
lol
thanks jbv, and thanks thanks thanks for the advice!

Hi, Uni and everyone. I've been here off and on for ages and am not making much progress. Lurking to read clues has helped. I have my tu 8,9 now.
ri6 - ri plus a gathering of musical instrument players or an elastic strip
still can't see the tu8/9.....
merk, could you clue me for the tu 8 please
thanks Haz, for ri6
ooohhh, i wanted "ribald"
Begin with the eastern headdress, change the final vowel to another and add Mr Gore (for tu8) and then plural.
tx haz!
You're welcome, Une and flosey.
thanks haz!
You're welcome, Jes - back later after I've had lunch.
thx haz!
good morning Babblers :)
and TY Haz for that tu clue
I'm still searching for the ri 6, Haz. I think I woke up too early this morning, or at least too early for this particular grid.
Oh, I got it. Duh ... I am in a fog! ty
this grid is not amongst the easiest
It's nice to have friends here to help us through our hazy days.

Angel...TU 9 is the plural of TU 8....sounds like a type of engine
Ugh! Why am I still here babbling! I need to be working!
hi, all.
hi Angel
merk, I see what you mean on the ca7's. weird
can I get a clue for na 6/24 please?
na 6/24 sounds like a mexican dish made with chips but change the last vowel
20 to go and I've got to get away from this for a bit, bbl
Thank you, Luv!!
thanks Luv
yw Annie
good morning
and yw also flosey
morning, jane
My gosh, that's a yiddish word, Luv. I can't believe it's in Enable!
Enable has many Yiddish words
didn't know what was hego but I know Babble accepts lots of strange words
hello everybody
how is the grid today?
hi jacq
hello annie
It means like when your kids make you very proud, you they give you na6.

Hi jacq
hello hego
Hi jacq, hego, Annie, LuvWord. I can only find two ar4/4 words, the song and the plant one. Can anyone help?
Hi hydra!

Doh! There are only two. I miscounted.
someone who can paint and draw is ar**
oops lol need to read the chog better
I have them all now, thanks. Now for the As words.
sorry
how is birdy not a word
isn;t the golfing term spelt ie?
I agree, hurshy. And jacq, you have nohting to be sorry about. You were helping me!
It is, but a little feathered friend is a sweet little birdy, surely?
the golfing term is spelt ie, but the little tweety... yes
i would certainly say it could be spelt either way for the tweeter.
what about the badminton thingy?
shuttlecock isn't in the grid
teehee
LOL :-)
lol Jacq
that one is birdie hego
insanity is at fever pitch today in my office.

not so stupid jacq if it worked :)
no it didn't the boobies word isn't in the grid today lol
ooooooh heheeee
Fireworks. Last word was "fathers". How did that happen
wtg inge!!!!
congrats Inge!!
cant get that tu 9 from the six...darn
hi all, and only the first 4 letters are the same, from the 8 to the 9
mkg, use the 6 add Mr. Gore for the 8 and pl for the 9
the tu6 is the head-dress worn by sikhs
change the second vowel to get the 8 and 9
oh shoot, i mean from the 6 to the 9. (but it sounds about the same)
change the last vowel in the hat, BDG
oh right forgot you have to change that vowel
i have the six and when i add gores name it says not in dictionary...............what can i be doing wrong?
ty got it. wasnt changing that vowel. ty ty
remove the first letter from the head-dress to get a 5
after the headdress the tu words have to do wiht how electricity is produced from or with water
it's probably related to the engine, not the head dress?
yes Jane i think so
want points for caribu!!! waaaaaaa
,,, abd fireworks!
Bye, happy babbling
wtg merk!!!!
Haz tried that too gwen
wtg Merk!
wtg merk !!!! ~~~ !!!!

don't have a tr8, sorry, still struggling to get to halfway
dont have that tr8 either
hey, it's just like cleaning a phone or a stove. well, almost
aslan is not a word!
jane i have a tr8 that leads to the 9, it is similar to a wind tu****e that creates power from a renewable source
proper name, well in narnia anyway
the scourge of scottish hillsides

Tr can be dressed 3 times, so to speak
no wasn't thinking that,,,just that there was a jmitch on another site I used to frequent...she was a journalist but UK
i have a ba5/14 that means trite, or add the bottom word to the b
oh..when i first joined everyone assumed a relation to fmitch. We may be related, but it would be at least 4 generations removed
I have NBT but I still have 79 to find....
lots of A's
does anyone have clues for da/7.
and B's and c's etc etc
i found it
da 7.....3'4 of today's d*** +u*** acid

hi all
hi sweetie
how are you doing?
hello again, back to (hopefully) finish this grid
pretty good -- going crazy with details to follow up on
well sit back and relax for awhile
if you can on this grid
hi all, how yall doing?
hi dinok
hello dinok, haven't seen you in quit a while
hi again, i'm home from work today - more time to chat!
dont babble much unfortunately. But I did finish grid yesterday, first for ages!!
jmc, I caught up on some news - I want to extend my very sincere condolences to you and your family
lovely family photo dinok
yes, beautiful, dinok, and flosey I love your photo too - such a nice picture of an earlier time when little girls got dressed up for parties!
ty flosey, JBV. Has JMC had a bereavement?
yes her mother passed away just a few days ago
jbv, those would be the little dresses we wore around home, we had taffeta dresses for party - my mother made all of our clothes
then we have something in common, flosey, my mom was also a dressmaker - made all our dresses, coats too!
Oh JMC i am so sorry to hear that. My prayers with you all (())
yes, Mom did too jbv, often out of discards that she took apart and recut - this was coming out of the depression and nothing was wasted
absolutely, I know exactly what you mean - I grew up in the 50s, but Mom was a child of the depression, I still have those values
we also had some very nice godmothers who worked in the garment district in NYC who brought home lovely fabric (leftovers) for us - taffeta, velvet, wool - not a scrap was wasted
I thought I just saw band-aid in the grid...lol
if it wasn't enough for a dress, she would make a bodice out of one fabric, skirt of another
so true, I remember a favourite of mine, a dress made from a pr. of dad's slacks, navy, with a white cotton jabot at the neck
nice memories
yes, JBV, so many fond memories
does anyone have a clue for tr6/18 please, the one that follows tr7 and 8
monkeyed it,
can I have a clue for the 7/8?
fireworks - can't say I enjoyed this puzzle, too many unwords
tr7 3 + cl4
and plural
ok, thanks
and congratulations!
WTG flosey!!
tyty
did you get the clue jbv?
I agree this is not the grid to get me back into babble!! brain already hurts!
yes, thanks
you're right there dinok, my head is numb now! perhaps time for breakfast
will get my icon for tomorrow - good one - "homemade bread"
be back late tonight, after bridge - could be an hour or so after flip
good luck to all finishing up
ack the phone won't stop I think i will just have to lurk instead of chat :-(
whoo hoo closey

Thanks, Vicuna!! U's done -

morning all. Hugs to you jmc
hi, all. jmc, you and your family are in my prayers
lan ai
evening everyone
hey Katie - how are you feeling?
think I have got swine flu!!!!
did you go to work?
No stayed at home in bed, think I will need to take most of this week off, got an upset tummy with it now as well
Did you phone the doc?
Yep, they weren't much help just told me not to visit them under any circumstance. But as I have a number for the tami-flu if I don't take it I won't get it again. I'm going to get Bry to get a thermometer so I can take my temperature
going swimming now - ring if we can get anything for you
Will do xxx
how long have you felt rough, katie?
since last Friday Ata.
probably no point getting tamiflu then, really, it only shortens flu if you get it down you v quickly
I'm hoping it will be over soon as I'm sick to death of it. Still not convinced i've got it but am doing quite a good job to ticking all the symptom boxes
24-48 hours after feeling crap. well that;s what we were told down here
5 days ... you should be feeling a bit better soon!
started coming down with it last Wednesday worse on Thursday, sent home from work Friday. in bed saturday and sunday, some symptoms better today but added upset tummy to the list
you *should* start to feel better soon. But a caution - it's more than likely that you'll feel better then relapse for a bit then get better then relapse etc etc
I couldn't go in today there was just no way I could have driven for three hours, I'm going to off tomorrow as well the way it's going! Had a new starter today as well!!
honestly, I'd stay off all week if you can and just get better properly
Good evening all...........sorry you are not feeling well Katie I hope you feel better soon like Ata
I had swine flu - and still every time I overexert myself (ha! walk the dog etc) I spend the next dya or two in bed
The Dr wants me to have the vac this week I still dont know what to do
Ata make sure you rest properly
having been through this for ages now, I would at least say that if you believe in vaccines, get the darn thing. You don't want to be as ill as I was!
afternoon babblers!
Yes I suppose I should thanks
Hi Eva!
Hi Eva!
hi eva!
as 6...any hints??
how goes it?
It goes LOL
Kari somewhere to put your rubbish for as6
TY!
YW
Working on the ca7's. Any hints?
thanks Ata, just doing an email to my boss to break news to him, great for my weight though, soup and toast is as far as I can go at the moment
I went to the dr today to complain that I was still getting days of feeling like pants, and he just looked very stern and said REST. So I think that's the way to go
stuck on the ba/14's that come after the ba that rhymes with jail
hego if you have the ca6/21 before it add 2 different endings
oops don't have that either, tx
yw
carth
oops again
Ata you really must do as the Dr says and rest!!
so, does the swine flu start out with just feeling like you have a cold + then build? or do you pretty much know from the get-go that youve got the plague?
I know, I'm beginning to realise that LOL :)
I knew from the get-go - in that I felt fine before going to bed at 10 or so. By 2am I was stationed in the bathroom, freezing and shivering and with a temperature, and having a mild asthma attack. It pretty much said "hi! you're RLY ill!!!!"
I actually thought I had food poisoning that night, but then the flu symptoms came through during the next day and by the end of that day I was NOT a happy camper
*sprays antiseptic to ward of cooties* Hello, peeps!
im not a very happy camper today, but thankfully, im fairly sure its just a measly old cold...
Hi Judi!! Stop spraying that in my direction..Im ok (I hope)
hints for the i or the corner N?
*spritz spritz*
Eva is there much swine flu in the USA?
hi judi
i 4/6 pl first person in german!
TY dip!
i know people who have had it, so i guess so. chris's nephew (age 2.5) had it! little trooper...
oh gosh, that must have been awful for him
Poor little boy
hes fine now. it went through him very quickly -- by the time they got the tests back confirming what it was, he was already on the mend.
Pregnant women seem to be the ones where the most concern is at the moment (I must not get pregnant !!) LOL
yes, i have several friends who are due within the next few weeks + they are being informed that no one other than husbands and parents allowed to visit.
I wonder why they are at such high risk
Ata are you still there??..............Have you heard from FM since her move?
yep, still here, she's in a hotel living a life of luxury at the moment!
isnt your immune system at risk when youre prego? and thus, that of your baby?
Good for her!! When you speak next please tell her I was asking about her
More proof that children make you sicker. Another reason why I never had them.
That must be it Eva LOL Judi!!
hi all
Hi sue
I will :)
In Wales I think 3 women have died of the flu but the babies are ok
*wanders in and sits down next to caitlyn*
grid today?
((((((((((stid))))))))))) How are you?
I am well caitlyn. we're having quite the bit of weather this few days. BIG storms today and tomorrow.
how are you?
I heard that one reason pregnant women are at risk is that in order to be pregnant a woman's immune system is slightly suppressed. -- from the news a couple weeks ago
the news here says 48 dead of swine flu in Illinois since April, 12 just this week. I think mostly in and around Chicago. (it also says your chance of being shot dead is much higher than that of getting swine flu - that's Chicago for you!)
We are having nasty weather here as well Im okay, a little sad after going to a dear aunts funeral today though
the actual risk of H1N1 flu isn't great for healthy adults. But it's more severe apparently than regular influenza, so there is more time lost at work and school.
((((caitlyn)))) I am sorry for your loss. I hope you have many lovely memories to keep close to your heart.
She was 96 going on 20 was moved to Wales by granddaughter dead within 36 hours with a broken neck!!
oh caitlyn, how horrible!
OMG! the poor grandaughter must feel terrible
I would like to think so but Im afraid that isnt the case.........the police are still doing enquiries but the granddaughters inherit anyway they only met her 9 years ago!!
Lucky keeps bringing me a defunct squeaky ball (not much squeak left) to throw. poor puppy is desperate for action, but it's too nasty for me to spend a lot of time outside today
((((((caitlyn)))))) my heart is sad.
Thank you stid
oooh, that does sound suspicious, I have to admit...
Yes rbud and I had to go in the funeral car with them today yuck! But as stid said I have 40 years of very happy memories which they dont
I hate funerals.
stid If you dont get that poor dog a new ball I will have to come over a bring her one
LOL -- him. and NO THANKS! I was so glad when he broke the squeaker!
That is soooooooo mean LOL
*grin* mean, yes. but I don't get headaches so much now!
okay, that lone i in the middle column is my last blank tile. any help?
LOL
sounds fishy Stid....IC**

hello katie
hi all - how is the grid today
hey katie !
hey wolvie!
Hi Jacq & Wolvie
heya wolvie
it's not such a kind grid today, some very oddd words
it's not an easy grid for me, but I am distracted of course.
stid, jac, katie, , et al - we all have good timing. :-)
at least I am not the only one jac!
not good for me either but I can't concentrate
i am also finding it hard to focus
well, i just got here, and i already think it is tough. ;-0
take some paracetamol and go lie down katie!
Hello everyone. I don't usually come on now or ask for more than clues, but could those of you who are willing please say a prayer for my nephew. He has multiple health issues, one of which is that he has no immunity to things. He is in hospital with H1N1 and bronchial pneumonia. It is very tenuous if he will make it through. His name is Jim. Thanks and blessings to all of you.
what??? are ALL reading BF Skinner??
LOL hey Bugs!
heya ata
ohhh skinner!!
hi ata
oh gee Bugs. ((((((nephew))))))) he is on my list.
actually I'm going to do just that Ata. I'll say a prayer for him Bugsaw
hey bugs - best to Jim - my thoughts will be with him
thanks stid. How is good old BF striking you?
take care of yourself katie.
am thinking positive thoughts for him Bugsaw
Thanks all of you. He is his parents only child and they are terrified
katie - do you feel badly? sorry to hear it
See you all tomorrow, 4 days in the house and I will be climbing the walls lol
i bet they are bugs - i would be
I am about 40% through, and some of what he says makes sense, if oddly worded. I am struggling with the consequences of his conclusions at this point. But I want to see where he takes it before drawing my own conclusions about it.
(((((Jim's parents too)))))
bye katie
be interesting to see what you think of it stid
be well katie (((hugs)))
my computer connection is erratic today, I think the weather is playing with the cable lines, and perhaps with power supplies somewhere.
it is hell if water gets in a break in a cable somewhere.
yes, and there is a LOT of water in the Pac NW today.
only natural up there. :-)
*grin* too tr4! we also have strong winds, which is less common, but still normal for this time of year.
apparently Astoria's taking a battering too, stid
how's the weather for you wolvie? did you get hit by that big storm end of last week?
stid, if i lived in your area, i would have an afro for a hairdo. lol
I live near you stid and I just heard that BOTH of the bridges that cross the river running through town are closed along with a ton ton of flooded roads. I am safe but it will be hard for people who work or go to school on the other side of the river to get home!
yes, they have fairly high winds, but NOTHING like the strait of juan de fuca. Our friends in Victoria and near Vancouver Island and in the San Juans are getting pummeled
oh gee Bugs, that makes it worse than I thought!
wowsa - i will have to check out weather.com
wish your nephew well & hope you hear good news Bugs
I hope Hetty is okay, she lives on the bank of the river that empties into Victoria harbor
I have lived here since 1992 and never have either of the bridges been closed due to weather before.
they still have forecasts for 95mph winds!
Thank you works!
wow. batten down the hatches as they say
man oh man, and I thought the east coast had some bad storms last week
yes, this storm is tapering off, but the next one is on its way. I just hope the power stays on long enough for me to make supper this evening. Monday is my day to be domestic -- my "at home" time.
But I have a goal to reach 2/3 of this book (due Wednesday) before I go in the kitchen
good luck stid. :-)
oh! past halfway! I can list! *happy smile*
woot!
AL please? I know it's a fish
et, stid

E.T. that is.

Oh no, Wolvie, the only ones without accents are Brits from the southern counties.
lol jilli
I have not made it either, but I have certainly eaten it! Yum
That's what my English Pronouncing Dictionary says, likewise Prof. Higgins
we have accents!!!
when i taught English at Berlitz, "standard English" was considered English spoken in the Heartland . . .
my pref on une's pie is homemade whipped cream. yummers
we have southern accents, adn there's a big variety of those!
i can hear you from across the pond ata. ;-0

hi all...here for a few minutes
Hello, Pini
Hiya BR!

Pretty neat, Pini
Of course with kudos to you for your cleverness! :)
You the boss, ma'am

how's your weather?
quite nice
"The one-size-fits-all approach to managing emotional life is misguided, agrees Julie Norem, author of The Positive Power of Negative Thinking. In her research, the Wellesley professor of psychology has shown that the defensive pessimism that anxious people feel can be harnessed to help them get things done, which in turn makes them happier. A naturally pessimistic architect, for example, can set low expectations for an upcoming presentation and review all of the bad outcomes that she's imagining, so that she can prepare carefully and increase her chances of success."
Wow, BR, know I have a name for my state of thinking! No longer a nay sayer!
oops I meant "now"
A lot of stuff in that article
Yes I shall read it more carefully later. Might copy and use it in psychology class.

good evening all
hi sprite :)
hey jilli! :)
hello sprite.
hi mo!
can't sleep, thought I'd babble a bit after all today.
we can sing you a lullaby ... lol.
would love you to :)
back to neurologist tomorrow, for emg testing and such. Am rather nervous.
on second thought I DONT THINK SO ... i AM TONE DEAF!!
hehehe it is the intention that counts
sorry for shouting ...... forgive my ignorance but "emg"?
For Sprite:
* | Sleep, baby, sleep Your father guards the sheep Your mother shakes the dreamland tree And down will fall a dream for thee Sleep, baby, sleep Sleep, baby, sleep Sleep, baby, sleep Our cottage vale is deep The little lamb is on the green With snowy fleece so soft and clean Sleep, baby, sleep Sleep, baby, sleep Sleep, baby, sleep, Down where the woodbines creep Be always like the lamb so mild A kind, and sweet, and gentle child Sleep, baby, sleep Sleep, baby, sleep
something like electro myo graph. They are gonna stick needles in me and measure the output of electrical stimulation and stuff like that.
awwwwww jilli, thank you :) :)
My mother used to sing that to me -- I even remember!
I think I know the melody. We have a similar song in Dutch: Slaap kindje slaap daar buiten loopt een schaap een schaap met witte voetjes dat drinkt zijn melk zo zoetjes Slaap kindje slaap daarbuiten loopt een schaap
I hope everything goes well sprite.
I bet it's the same tu4 :)
Your test sounds interesting, sprite. Not scary!
it probably will, mo, it is just that I have ptss (post traumatic stress syndrome) and I don't handle being hurt very well. I can take it, but it scares me pretty bad.
I understand sprite ... I am just the same. (my husband cannot understand why I get so nervous about things)
well, that's just me, finding such things interesting. Takes one's mind off a little needle.
lol jilli, it is not the needle that worries me. It is being helpless when somebody hurts me. But that is related to the ptss. I have been a blood donor for many years and never minded the BIG needle.
jilli ... you are just like my hubby ... he needs to know all the ins and outs of everything.
mo, if you suffer from ptss, it is very normal to be nervous about such things. It makes it tougher when people close to you cannot understand :(
Can curiosity about the procedure and asking questions not overpower the helpless feeling?
yes jilli, that is one of the things I try. But this is not a nice doctor. Doesn't like to explain or talk, apart from his own questions.
I agree sprite.
sprite and anyone...here is a little fun to remember when you face a challenge to help you through it...just imagine the other person is completely naked and enjoy a good laugh...i'll bet you will find yourself giggling inside...it has always helped me when i can remember to do that...*smile*
oh, I have one like that now, sprite :(
Sounds like a great idea of MPitt's!
it is still okay as long as I can remember to stay in the now. But when old fears are triggered, it gets grim.
Sprite -- did I send you the video of the hairdresser's cape?
lol MPitt, now let me see, would I really like to see this doctor naked... ;)
MPitt ... tried that ... it doesnt work for me!!!
let me check, jilli
We must declare this to be a grim-free day.
good idea, babrab
yes we must BR ....
evening everyone - i am back for a while - hubby is much less stressed now and i am trying to get my head around giving a talk to people about my job
thanks BabbleRabble, let's.
Hi Kazzer
hi Kazzar.
hi kazz!
jilli, I don't think so. But I am enjoying the gabriel one now!
Hi everyone. I just popped in for a bit, but I think this grid looks too hard and I should head to bed. Yesterday I finished but I could barely wake up this AM>
I'll send the hairdresser's cape pronto -- brb
hi Mich ... it is a bit tricky today.
I have 99 left and I'm just not seeing anymore words.
i am down to the u's
hi Mich, it is a bit tight today
ok if that doesn't work i try a little exercise i saw on monty python's circus...it's called "squishing their head"...you just line up their head between your thumb and forefinger of one hand and imagine just squishing it...squish, squish, squish!--you might feel so silly but a little bit more in charge...i believe we have to foster humor as much as possible to get thru lifes strifes...
I like that one :) Yeah, without humour I'd be long dead.
I am being haunted by a number of phantoms, so good night all.
jilli, that cat-and-dog vid is so incredibly sweet! Made me smile all through.
nite mich
night Mich. Send the phantoms over to me, I will knock them flat for you.
MPitt ... its the run up to these medical things that gets me wound up.
Night Kasser, mo, sprite, MPitt, jilli, everyone
goodnight Mich.
nitey nite mich
I know, mo! Am still learning to know my triggers and teach myself tools to handle them. Even being able to say I find these kind of things hard is a good tool.
sprite -- hairdresser's cape video sent. And yes, isn't Gabriel and Stanley wonderful?
sprite ... keep your chin up ... my thoughts will be with you.
the sweetest, jilli!
well, the other one is just funny
thanks mo, that really helps. And I am really going to trty to get him to tell me what he is doing.
*(checks mail*
thats fireworks. Good luck sprite.
YAY kazz!
At least at home hubby not going to be made redundant which is good as it was leaving him very very low at the weekend
well done Kazzer.
Great news, kazz!
mo maybe you can imagine you are doing the same thing to the person who is doing it to you...my 82 yr old mom had me in stitches when she blurted out that she would like to see if her male doctor would like a mammogram of his prized male part...I was ROFL...my parents were blessed with abundant humor!
good news Kazzer ... bet it was a great relief.
oh I m glad for both of you, Kazz
it was cos he was contemplating a job thats was about a 40 percent pay cut otherwise
she sounds like my kinda gal, MPitt ;)
i havent had one of them yet - i missed out on the mobile van by about 6 months so now i wont get one till i am nearly 53
jilli, roflol!
off to make sandwiches and stuff for tomorrow - see you all later
blessings, Kazzer!
so put that apron on the doc, sprite :D
am contemplating wearing one, jilli!
jilli...I agree...she is such a cutie...I wish she could find a male companion to enjoy life with...it was such ashame when my dad died in 1990...
MPitt .. I have to have an op on my eye in the near future and I am so uptight about it ... but I am trying to think positive.
mo, thinking positive is very important, as is taking your fears seriously. Be good to yourself!
MPitt, if she's like me she probably can't find anyone to match up
ty sprite I will try. AND HOPE YOU DO OK TOMORROW.
besides, we 82-yr-old females kind of outnumber the males
thanks mo :)
sorry ... shouting again!!
especially such lively and strong 82 yo females, jilli. You are pretty unique!
Hi all! Clue for DA 7 please?
hi car.ee
I didnt realise you were so"young" jilli ... good on ya.
Hello sprite!
sprite, my 87-yr-old sister-in-law *walked* the long championship golf course, playing 18 holes the other day. But she won't have a computer. To each his own!
hi car.
now i can talk eyes...my son was hit by a bb in his and he had so many ops (six) even regained the vision only to lose it a second time from 3rd detaching retina...then my grandma had a branch occulsion in one eye and had laser for that went well, then my mom's poodle had cataract surgery and lenses implanted in both eyes and it went great...then my mom had cataract surgery both eyes and it was complicated in one but in the end it turned out fine...
Hello mo!
jilli, will update icon and themes when I stop playing today, for tomorrow's theme. Sorry to be a day behind, but don't wanna change now for so short a time.
jilli, that is so cool!
hi car! Did you see my icon yesterday?
Guess what I do for one of my jobs? Transcribe ophthalmology reports!
how's your son now, MPitt?
Don't worry about it, sprite -- your hands are beautiful and so is Terra
Was yours the one with the picture with the kids and animals?
da + a driver uses a blinker to signal a ***n + solid water: **e
TY BR!
thanks BabbleRabble, great clue
thanks jilli :)
jilli...you are right...she said she doesn't want to be a nurse or a purse! but all the men her age are creeping around and can't keep up with her...I told her she should become one of those "cougars" they talk about and get a cute, strong "pool boy" LOL
sorry had to answer phone ... so must dash now ... goodnight all......
bye mo, all the best to you
Bye mo!
no, car, it was the cover of the new Pooh book in the OLD style -- Return to the Hundred Acre Wood. I got it for a Christmas present for my 61-yr-old son, lol! Read it first, of course.
and you sprite .bye ....
The boys and I have already read it! Wonderful! Our favorite chapter was when "Tigger goes to Africa"!
Bye mo, and best ofluck
Oh good, car!!!
such delightful books, jilli. Especially the old ones.
*of luck. Looks awful when run together
The new one is really well done....right in step with the originals!
sprite, my son does terrific with vision in only one eye...he is a very successful union electrician has a lawyer wife and three beautiful children 2-1/2 boy and 5 mth old twins boy and girl...the brain retrains itself to use the one eye remarkably! it happened when he was 15 and he is 34 now.
I don't think the drawings of Christopher Robin are quite up to snuff.
am glad, MPitt! Well done for him!
That's great, MPitt!
I will have to check that out Jilli....
oops late..bye mo
ni 5/14 please?
wow, 66 words found and they are all 4s and 5s, except for the 7 that BabbleRabble clued.
kind of battery, i think, car.ee
ty sprite :)
yvw :)
Yes, jilli...Christopher Robin looks quite a bit different...but my son just told me he likes him!
sprite, do you have ca7 (meow tweet)?
car, I agree he should look different but he's not well drawn.
I didn't, jilli, but now I do, love the clue!
Car, ni 5/14 = ni + 52 **r*s in a deck
Ty Buff!
Not my clue, sprite --- I forget whose -- maybe mo's
Actually...looks at feet...mine....
I am glad to see that it was a good enough clue to be passed around!
very nice one, car.ee
thanks, car!

Hi there Jilli, glad to see you're up and running again
dismal day here, dark enough at 3:03 pm that I have to turn on the light even though I'm right beside a big window

does anyone know how to get rid of a virus called antivirus system pro
Go to Control Panel--> Remove Programs
scrabs!
i did that and can't find it in there
You mean an actual virus or a program
virus
Hi everyone. I'm in and out of this grid so much, I meet myself coming and going.1grandchild gone and one arrived.
scrabbs, i have a question -- one of my daughter's colleagues died last week from H1N1 -- apparently it was very sudden -- he was 60 yrs old and in good health -- cause of death was heart attack -- is this common??
Hi Gramma
(asking on her behalf)
scrabs, how long should it take for cipro to alleviate symptoms of uti?
Oh, my, Une! So tragic!
yes . . .
sorry to hear, une
In actual fact this man may not have been in "good health". He may have had underlying, undiagnosed coronary atherosclerosis.
me too, TO -- she sent me a copy of a lovely article that appeared in the local paper
that's what i was wondering, scrabbs
Or, he may have had secondary pneumonia which is the usual trigger toward demise.
i'll pass that information along to her -- thanks
Cipro --- 3 days is usual regimen, I believe
have four. yeserday was day two, and could not sleep for getting up
Sometimes I stop with just 2-3 doses of an antibiotic when I get a UTI. Not what I tell patients tough.
oh, i thought it was a big no-no not to finish the whole shebang?
going to get a light dinner and turn in early. actually confined top bed on saturday, very unusual for me
Hi everyone!
hi beach
hi beach :)
hi jili
hey, beach
it IS a big nono!!!
hi scrabs, TO and all
beach did you come through storm ok?
i am surprised at you, scrabbler!
hi une -- love your icon -- I hope you get to see flosey's
doctors make the worst patients
hey, jilli -- love your pic -- I have a similar pic of my mom with one of her springers in her lap -- you can barely see her at all LOL!
i saw flosey's, jilli -- LOVED it!!
thanks, une -- this guy was a bit bigger than a springer, lol!
well, yeah! :-)
ok peeps, later.
I did, thank you TO
later, TO -- feel better!
but it's one thing when it's about just your own health - antibiotics need to be taken full course for your own sake and for everyone else in the world!
thaw
lol beach, don't you mean chill? ;)
lol
drat
I did fess up! I wait til symptoms are gone, drink a ton of fluids, pee a lot, and hope symptoms do not recur--they have not. Some studies show that one big dose of an antibiotic is enough to "sterilize" the urine. I respect the hazards of antibiotics so prefer to avoid taking them.
beach!!
that is why I often lurk
LOLOLOLOL
I end up in the PB
jumping back in the grid...hubby fed and happy eating his strawberry pound cake!
Yummy, MPittore!
yum, mpittore!
but the creation of superbugs?!?!
scrabbler I always thought urine IS sterile..
after 4 days i realized i was not going to receive a miracle healing
beach, if you have a PC, the cure is to get BabbleExpert from Lickety (it's free)
It is supposed to be and typically is.
Superbugs occur BECAUSE of exposure to antibiotics
Could be viral UTI, in which case AB won't help
bc of medium exposure, i thought. you allow it time to finish the bug off, the bug can't mutate
jilli, thanks for the hint!
yw!
evening, all
pam! long time no see!
hi pam :)
UUUUNNNEEEE
Hi, Jilli!
:-D
giving a big slice of strawberry pound cake to scrab & Une...bon apetite!
Scrabs, I no longer go to doc for sinus infections
that's bon appetit ;)
I will if one lasts more than a week, but I can shake them now myself, and don't want to take the antibiotics
Hi pam--I just read about Pearl & you
I love plain pound cake... yum
I am still seething, Scrabs.
Smart girl, Pam!
IN brief, pearl and I were rushed by an off-leash Lab. Pearrl was on on leash.
Idiots don't recognize themselves ot their responsibility in situations
thanks jilli i caught it too just as i pressed enter *smiles* giving a slice of that strawberry pound cake to jilli...bon appetit...
*or
Of course, the Lab's "person" wanted to blame my sweet clownish pit bull. Even though HER dog was off-leash and rushed us and was doing all of the growling....
True, scrabs
Mayhaps Lab's owner will reflect on their role in creating the problem, but it seems unlikely from what you described.
yes, highly unlikely
GRRRRR
oh, pam, something similar happened to me recently -- owner was very cavalier -- thought I overreacted -- I was walking THREE dogs when his off-leash BIG dog came running right at us
Am drinking an ice cold pint of water....
UGH, une.
there is a leash law in boston for a reason
same here
and dogs should be walked on leash everywhere...
I hope you and your dogs did well, Une....
(his wife DID apologize)
Glad of that, une!
we were ok, but it scared the bejesus outta me -- i wasn't scared for myself but for my girls and my kicking and screaming had no effect on him
guy sauntered over and said "he just wants to play" -- i was furious
I would have been spitting mad.... that sounds horrid...
idiot dog owners cause so much harm
i was getting tangled in leashes and was really worried I'd fall, the girls would get away, and all hell would break loose

wtg scrab ;)
back to see if i can get half way. have 72 words so far.
keep the clues coming!!!!!!!
scrabbler - sorry if i was overly confrontational there, i just thought i had understood the situation about antibiotics - i would like to be set straight if i have not.
I am fine, Hurshy. People believe that they must always finish all of the antibiotic to make sure the infection is gone, but the bigger issue is whether that antibiotic treatment is needed at all. Overuse of antibiotics has gotten the world in trouble.
Medical research is confirming that many infections can resolve without the use of antibiotics, e.g. middle ear infections. These resolve in 7-80% of cases withOUT Ab treatment.
yes, true, of course if it is virus not bacteria then it shouldn't be prescribed in the first place. but if it is bacterial, am i wrong that public health interest indicates that people should finish the course?
ok, cool, or even some bacterial infections, then, shouldn't be prescribed them. but once you start.
The 10 or 7 or 5 day "course" is being questioned. So a single large dose of an antibiotic can clear up a UTI rather than 7 or 10 days.
Shorter courses for Strep throat will become the norm soon.
interesting.
well, the middle ear infection I got from scarlet fever at age 5 didn't clear up on its own -- resulted in 5 mastoid surgeries
I had a very maddening incident with my daughter and antibiotics
now i am thinking of house's line about vancomycin... how do you spell it?... in the water
there were no ABs then
Rare complication Jilli.
What happened, Hawkins?
scrab and hurshy...there is an overuse of antibacterial products also that concerns the health care professionals...many hospitals and research institutes have curbed their use of antibacterial hand wash products unless absolutely needed such as with patient contact
yes, vancomycin
she was prescribed amoxicillian, fever came back after 5 days the er doc told us to give her tylenol every 5 hours. we called her doc and she sent us a new script
rare now because of ABs, right?
she had strep
ar 6 please?
No, Jilli, just plain rare occurrence, even with "badder" bugs in the world.
10 more days of new med, been good since
Amox = treatment for Strep.
but it didn't work and we were told to continue treatment and give her tylenol every 5 hours until she finished the 10 days. we were only half way through.
Confusing, hawkins
don't have ar6, mkg
we called her doctor and she gave us a diffierent AB
ty anyway
I am confused because amox = the treatment for Strep throat. There are no penicillin-resistant Strep in the world.
can't remember the name of the second AB
I am looking too, mkg
Up to 60 words. This is a tough grid!
ar6 = another word for trivia, i think ?
hmmm dont know it.
my goodness! just seeing where bugsaw lives on TV -- huge floods!
where, jill?
if something's trivial, it's ar + candy ****
ab4/7 = a + booty
and then you make it a noun
Courtenay, on Vancouver Island
ty for the ar6, hurshy
I finally got it. TY, hursh
i'm not getting it. ;(
catholic premarital classes = pre ****. Ar = those 3 letters. Or ar + Venice has numerous ****ls/waterways
= should be +
last letter of the ar6 is not the same as that of candy ****
At 66/102 I am ready for bed. I slept very poorly last night. Tonight had better be better!
ty got it scrabbler
Night scrabs -- sleep well!
think tarot.... major and minor ar****
need as 6 also please.
HI Jilli and everyone else. I was just watching the news too. It was weird here today when BOTH the bridges that connect the city were closed. I have been here since 1992 and they were never closed for weather before. I am fine where I live and work is away from the rivers
Glad to hear you're ok, bugs! Seeing the parks etc under water was weird.
The flooding happens fairly often when the river is full and the tides are high.
Years ago a firend worked in the 7/11 store on that flood plain. The water was 3 feet deep but she could not get home so she was just sitting on the counter with the front and back doors open so the water could flow without blowing out any walls. Two guys in a canoe paddled in, picked up some chips and paddled out again!
People were saying they'd never seen the like, though
Oh, nice -- didn't even offer her a lift home?
It was much higher today apparently. Schools were let out an hour early so the busses could get the kids home.
She couldn't leave the store open and unattended.
Oh, of course!
When the water level goes down a lot of fish will be left flopping around on the lawn in the park. Eagles and seagulls will do the clean up.
Poor fish :(
truly

HiMP. BBS.
i think i am suffering from some sort of babble blight here tonight just one of those nights...
Thatr was meant to be BRB.

Or try tr* (three) + the bread thing your hambuger comes in + a vowel.
*hamburger

jac i think that is the tr7/40, right?
Dressed three times? is the tr7.36. tr8/50 is probably the plural.
doesnt matter- I needed both : )
MP - yes that was the 7.40 but that was what I was asked to clue earlier.
sorry jac missed that request *wink* i need the second tr 5/12, tr6/21, and last tr4/5 pls
2md tr5/12 is the Chinese Mafia.
tr6 is the plural.
The last tr4.5 is not a lie!

MP - no doubt you did, since you've not been here as long as I have.
last hy6 please?
Pertaining to hydrogen, DR.
jac thank you and you are right I have only done this about six times now...so I am so happy nice people like you are so willing to help us newbies join in the fun. i have the chinese mafia as the third tr5/12 and I have the first still need the other one pls
ty Jac
hi all. How's everyone tonight?
y.w DR.
Hi Autumn.
Hi Autumn
I'm just getting over giving myself a small does of food poisoning by not heating my chicken stew up enough in the microwave. I knew I should have pui it in a saucepan and boiled it for 15 mins.
I am regretting starting this grid. I have about 40 minutes to bedtime and 130 to find
*DOSE, NOT DOES.
oh yuck Jac! Hope you feel better now
jac - you know better than that! Hope it doesn't last too long
DR _ I seem to be okay now. The weird headache that often accompanies the bad bowels has gone now.
jac that food poisoning can be mighty rough...glad you are better
ok glad you are feeling better
Autu,n - I know! I just thought I'd try to jointhe ranks of those in the house that microwave things. Won't be doing it again.
It would have been quicker to put the stew in a saucepan and heat it on the cooker. Would have been safer, too.
**F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S**
hi everyone! (0:
I always say - the best thing the microwave is for... to heat up that stupid cup of tea I made then got busy doing something else
YAY LIND!!!!
Welll done, Lindrick.
WTG LINDY !!!
whoo hoo Lindricway, me too!
thanks guys! glad you are better Jac
yahoo carol!
Microwave tea tastes pretty crap though, doesn't it?
only if I have milk in it
so autumn are you coming to my party on Sat?
I don't know yet, Lind
I have to be in Gatineau at noon on Sunday
it would be very cool! (0:
aahhh that could be a problem!
Fried my brain finishing, going to bed now. Nite all!
I think I've had a microwave oven in my house for about 30 years now. I still haven't worked out what they are supposed to be good for. They're quite good for pre-cooking apples before they go into a crumble, I used to use the cooker for heating up babymilk in the night.
I microwave almost everything
Mind you7, seems I have comitted a sin doing that now in plastic bottles.
and hi all
night carol
hi nrkii
Hi nrkii.
microwaves can be handy for defrosting stuff, but I don't think I will have one when I move Jac
li 5/12?
I generally make enough of something for 3 to 5 meals, and freeze most of it to microwave later
you just can't win Jac!
But have you smelled the wet dog smell microwaves giv to meat. Lincrick?
I wouldn't use the microwave to cook meat the first time around, but to reheat something already cooked, yes
Yes Jac, but I never defrost or heat meat in the microwave! yuck
though I have a microwave convection oven, so theoretically, I could cook meat in that thing... just never do
I am giving up on this grid. Lind - I will be on FB on Friday night and will let you know.
LI 5/12 Li & ***hos (chips with dip)
Meat should be cooked and re-heated with gas not microwaves.
oh autumn, look forward to it but no pressure!
done!!
if i'm not about just email me
Yahoo marmart!
*ok even!
okay lind ni-night all!
nanight autumn hugs
If this oven re-invention keeps on occuring, I will have to resort to man's original cooking implement - the fire.
LOL Jac!
oh Jac did you get my message the other week thru facebook?
Well, you've got the basic fire, then you've got the BBQ and you've also got the fire pit (luau pit).
What message was that, Lind?
I sent you an email thru facebook on 2nd Nov Jac
I'll have to check that out later. Lind.
thanks Jac (0:
well I think I might have an early night
So I will catch you all tomorrow, sweet dreams everyone! (0:
'Bye Lindrick.
Judt checked my emails for 2nd Nov on FB and there weren't any.
