interesting, but not surprising, that so many of us babblers were childhood reading fanatics....
The library was my favorite place when I was a young child

but they seem to think it is solid, not a cyst, and apparently most solid kidney masses are cancerous. however, when they are that small, they apparently usually can be removed and then you're fine. no chemo or radiation bc that type of cancer doesn't respond to it.

Primary kidney cancer at his age is far less likely than testicular cancer metastasizing to kidney, but latter usually goes to nodes around aorta.

Recipe for my Golden Potato pie: GOLDEN POTATO PIE (serves 2) Ingredients: Approximately 450g potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced 50g Cheddar 1 small onion, finely sliced 40g of butter or margarine Salt and White Pepper Method: Preheat oven to 190ºC. Grease an ovenproof dish with some of the butter or margarine. Arrange an overlapping layer of potato slices on the bottom. Dot with butter, sprinkle on salt and pepper and then a layer of onion, followed by a layer of cheese. Continue in this way until the dish is full, finishing with a layer of potato, seasoning and butter topped with cheese. Place a lid on the dish and cook it on full power in the microwave for 10 minutes to soften the potatoes. Then put the dish in the oven and cook for 50 minutes at 190ºC. Test with a skewer to make sure the potatoes are soft then cook for a further 10 minutes WITHOUT THE LID, until the top is golden brown. Serve with bacon or gammon steak.
