hi BJ!
thx rbud :)
I had coached a few of the kids but was still stunned to hear how it all came together. Tomorrow night I hear the Cleveland Orchestra in all their glory. Both are great experiences to hear the peak of the profession and its beginnings - in school orchestras. There's just something o special in hearing these young people play a piece for the first time., a wild innocence.
hi Jilli
BJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
must be an exhilarating experience for them, melon
BJ!!!!!
Glad to see I'm not the only one likes good desert cheese Une
:-D
darn it...without giving a clue...can someone give me stats for the lone U at the bottom?
jilli, it brought me a nearly visceral memory of how i felt when I first started playing as a teen. note; 4 of the players are children of Cleveland Orch members - how cool is that?
melonhead -- so glad to hear you talking about GOOD music! In most schools, lately, there is no music taught, which doesn't bode well for the future concert audiences!
un5/14, pini
thx ;)
Wouldn't that be xonsidered a clue?
sounds amazing, melon!
shhhh, BJ...don't tell!!! :)
tx jilli
phantom: crampon
aren't they just stats?
it was, it was, une! They also played the Berceuse and Finale from Firebird - excellent horn and bassoon solos. Opened with Rimsky Korsakov "Procession of the Nobles" - an ambitious program and they hit it out of the park.
ok..time for bed...
wishes "snarf " was a word
night pav! :)
nite, pav
well, they are, but when you know the length and the point count, it's pretty hard to miss a word....
Well, I'm still lookin' BJ!!!
snarf is a word if you spell it differently....
hi, Erda, well, when you are a mile away from Severance Hall, not having music isn't an option, thank goodness.
well, that's what was asked for . . . :(
that may be so, but I still haven't found the un 5
well Pini, may I say how un5/15 you are at finding it....

MELON- WISH I HA KNOWN ABOUT THE CONCERT- I WOULD HAVE GONE
BINGO! Thx (but that's spelled wrong, isn't it?)
jilli - your granddaughter is just radiant - lovely photo - i'm going icon shopping now. brb.

HEIGHTS HAS ALWASY HAD AN EXCELLENT ORCHESTRA AND CHOIR. MY GRAND DAUGHTER WAS IN THE COIR FOR 4 YEARS AND WE NEVER MISSED A PERFORMANCE
ty bj

NBT!!! and it took 78 other words, stats and a clue to make it to 79!!!
um, sammys, off with that caps lock, pls!
the in5/12 version must be more derogatory, implying incompetence
wtg pini

absolutely Une!! Looking forward to end of season! Fresh start in Australia January
can't wait!!
I just found them.. so.. sorry
Was great to see Djokovic win in Paris!
while my neighbors sleep, I'm riveted to the Tennis channel in the wee hours :-)
yes, really like Monfils but Novak was terrific
me too
hi mrp :)
Maddison did her flute solo infront of the whole school; friends, families and teachers!!
congrats to her, mrp!
(somehow I knew ru wouldn't really go...) ;p
and it was a disaster!!
oh no . . .
oh dear!
what happened?
now where was i when i was so rudely interrupted by the flip.... oh, yes. doc martens...have a pair.
the musical director was terrible!! They had the wrong CD to accompany and she stood on stage like a deer in headlights for about 5 minutes before they pulled her off.
oh, poor baby!
oh poor maddy.
poor little thing!
granny LOL!
did you get the high top ones, g'rose?
that director should be flogged
the musical director should write her an apology; hi granny
hey dee, une, mrp
she came back 2 sets later and was so nervous! But she only made 3 mistakes because she couldn't get B flat to work!!
yes, rbud, and oh so comfy.
well done
she got a huge applause though! but she flew off the stage without even bowing! LOL!!
our daughter's teacher used to say; a great musician knows how to move forward after a mistake
mrp, my heart goes out to her. the flute is a very difficult instrument at the best of times.
hi mrp :)
and good on maddy for going back and doing her solo!!
the beginning and the ending are what folks remember; fantastic that it worked out so well mrp
yes, she was very brave and very good!
well, 60 left, and I started half asleep -- really ready for beddy now.
nite jilli :)
bet you stood tall too, mrp
Hugs for Maddy!
nite jilli
please tell maddy that i am very proud of her. it takes a lot of courage to go on as she did
fingers crossed that i become used to these boots quickly. and can say GOOD-BYE to the camwalker
that would be great granny
fingers crossed here for you, too, g'rose
yeah, well, these are to be my only footwear for the next 12 months.
at $250 AU, they better see the distance, too.
what kind did you say they were
doc martens
that is what one of my nurse friends wears; she swears by them (has varicose veins)
Hi Rose - they will. My daughter used to live in them
it's the most i have EVER spent on a pair of shoes in my life.
I bet, but certainly worth it if they work :)
hey lyn
too true, dee
anyone have another o besides op 4 for right hand o?
2 op 4 volley
gracias
op4/6, dee
should have remembered that one :(
either I am sleepy or this one is hard... totally stalled with 34 left grrr

lol rose; wtg anike!!
couple strange 6's and 7's...otherwise not too bad
nj anike
was hoping to finish listless, but not going to happen today
I had to resort to lickety ith 50 to go
glad to hear anike; least it's not me... maybe I am just too excited... my brother is coming early Monday morning on the train; haven't seen him in a year; have been so homesick to see him my heart has been aching
well i did do a little better than that, but as dart said, a couple of strange 6's and 7's
how lovely Volley
Well I hope you have a great time with him Dee
how wonderful, dee.
have all my 7's; but missing 5 6's; oh we will!! We'll laugh til are guts explode; taking him to our daughter's to see her home for the first time; so will be such great fun
once I got the guestbed bedding washed and back on bed, was ready for him to arrive LOL
I probably could have persevered longer without the list but people all around interrupting me and I wasn't concentrating - plus afew funny ones here and there
that's just great! is he older or younger?
3 years younger
but he is literally brilliant, so often feels as though he is older
all my bros are younger, but we all have a hoot at christmas time, big family gathering every boxing day.
Have to rush off but can I clue anyhing b4 I go?
he can remember things he learned 40 years ago; really amazing... I forget my name
lol, dee
ty anike... will eventually use list
OK Happy babbling everyone
he and our daughter both have odd senses of humor, so when they are together it is pretty interesting
bye anike
looking for 2 missing d's; bet they are 6's...
there are 2 do 6's volley
oh, and our daughter has a new 60 pound puppy lol
ty dart have one, so looking
! what king of dog Volley - a great dane?
an American bulldog...
boxer body almost, but bulldog face... so ugly it is cute (in its pics)
not short and squatty like the English ones
looks solid as a brick sh..house as my grandpa used to say
gotta run...have to leave for airport in 6 hrs
have a great day dart
I gotta call it a night, too. distracted grid working
bye, dart!
there's a do5,which is the plural of the do6 after it, do you have those?
nite dart and freep
they weighed it yesterday and it was actually 58 pounds; we said, "How big is this dog getting?" (visions of marmaduke).... she said could get up to 80 pounds
gone for a week... might be hard to get on thur and friday....so i guess we'll see how many grids next week lol
nite, freep
dee, that's a lotta dog....
that must be the one I am missing
we'll miss ya, dart
certainly not my choice (scared about Christmas)... keep hinting we come back to her house (so I don't have to worry about the dog) lol
it's the last do5/12, then a 6 after it
think top fin on a fish, Dee
thx rbud...nite all poooof
got it, had the 5 but was missing the 6... one more d :)
she actually wanted a great dane, but they require more training than this one; supposedly a more docile breed
de x 2, do x 10
ty granny; it's a do...
ooh, just got my last d!
ty granny; it's a do...
I am embarrassed to tell you which one it was WTG rb
a dumb do 4 for me, lol
yay, dee
me, too lol
thot I had entered before
how many oc's?
oc x 1
oh, also my brother will meet our daughter's boyfriend for the first time; will be interesting to hear his impression of him
hmmmm, like is this guy good enough for MY niece?
Seem like a nice dog Volley, was just reading up on them
what did you see lyn?
exactly granny
That they are very loyal to their family, obedient etc. Don't know if i would choose on my self, I get a bit worried about a dog that seems more powerful than me - if you know what I mean. Plus I am sure people would confuse them with pit bulls which have such a bad name
have ha x 3, ho x 2, what do I need?
same exact questions I had, so far dog is extremely docile; she is planning on obedience school for 6 weeks to make sure she is starting out right
okay, all you doc marten owners, please tell me they stop squeaking sometime soon.
have exactly the same so far rb
but I am anxious around big dogs, so this should be interesting
Try the talcum powder inside the boots Rose, sometimes works
ha x 4, ho x 2
think I've tried German for "house" about 5 times, lol - ty, g'rose
o's done... now 30 left
thanx lyn, but it appears to be the leather. do you think beeswax?
there's a strange ha6
mmm, I wouldn't worry then Rose, I am sure it will loosen up after a few days
we were glad to hear no pit bull in this dog; she is a purebred; was originally owned by a family with 2 little girls, but the dad lost his job and didn't want the extra expense now; gave Lindz all their crates, food, toys, etc
I am missing the 6... looking
ty, g'rose, got the 6
would you like a clue?
yes, it is odd!
yay rbud

bet that looks strange
don't remember them being so low before. have had fog, but not cloud.
interesting
our trees look like cutouts.
I always wish I were a great artist when I see things like that
now, how about those s words?

LOL, saturday over, looking forward to a lovely combined service with 5 churches in the morning.
will be at one of our local schools. all monies collected will be divided between school chaplaincy, and a local group which helps the not so fortunate in our community
how about you, dee? is saturday going to be big for you?
crossy sneaks in from the fog..;))
so that's where you were,crossy?
okay, dee seems to have faded away, so i will say goodnight, and see you all at the flip
Hello everyone
Good Morning everyone. How are we all doing?
doing well, red. I was afraid I was the only one out there for awhile!
How are you?
I just go on here, I am at the airport, which is giving free wifi through the holidays...
nice holiday gift from the airport. if only their airfares were also free for the holidays!
It's google, they chose a bunch of airports. I was surprised though at how inexpensive my fares were, and I booked so late.
where are you travelling?
to Pennsylvania for a few days and then up to my sisters in RI, not a very exciting trip I am afraid due to the cold!
where in pa? i'm from philly.
near harrisburg, in the rural middle of PA, I grew up there...
i'm sure you'll have a nice trip, even if the weather's a bit chilly.
I hope so. DO you have plans for thanksgiving, lots of cooking?
I hope so. DO you have plans for thanksgiving, lots of cooking?
Oops, over enthusiastic this am.
Thanksgiving will just be my two sons (7 years old and 21 months old) and I. I already have mashed potatoes and corn, so I just need to get some turkey breast. Oh, and pumpkin pie. My older son would be upset if there weren't dessert!
Dessert is very important.
I'm a little disappointed that Thanksgiving isn't with my parents this year, who have chosen to go to Atlantic City and gamble :-(
Oh no Brookie, if they win loads they had better spoil your boys with college tuition!
You're right! lol
I bet they will end up missing you so much...
Nah. We see each other all the time anyway. :-) So, you're in PA and RI for a full week, I assume?
Yes, I drew a very luck straw at work. A few days with my Parents alone and then up to my sisters for the Mega Family celebration. Us, her and My BIL's family too...
good for you! I'm going to head out now, have some editing work to do before the children are up and about! Travel safely, and happy thanksgiving!
See you later Brookie.
Have a good holiday.
*poof* :-)
Just me an my Shadow.... going to change my icon!
Could someone help me by cluing me the su8?
hello jaeleigh
Hi!
it's a compound word, three letter word and a p5 thats in the grid
it doesn't make sense but it's similar to water*****, like a raincoat
Your first clue was fine- thanks!
yw
I am missing an "H", but I do not know which one. Can you help?
ha4, 4, 6 ho4, 4
Bummer, I was hoping for a longer grid today.
oops ha5 betwen those 4's

hagd jfb
bye JFB
i sometimes wonder - if you all could see the nonsense I enter in the add word box, trying to find words!!!! you would laugh yourselves silly i am sure.
i'm sure we all do trif lol, i know i do
Yeah, and if you're me you end up putting them in the chat box too.
maybe we should do that sometime - everyone type in a few words it *doesn't* take!
and the scary thing is, some of them we would laugh at and it would turn out they WORK
LOL i do that all the time, i forget to move the cursor
LOL kaplan - we have all done that, and it's always so embarrassing! The worst is the dreaded cu4!!!!
ohhhhhhhh i hate that word
my favorite, favorite thing is when I mis-type something in the add word box, and it turns out to be an enable accepted word. WIN
it's so crude
I am a bit over it, jacq - go see the vagina monologues - it helps you own it, and not being so reviled
well, that, and all those trips to ireland, where they say it every single day
that helped
Okay: N words that are not real: napa, noam, napt, nacon, nace, nacs. you are welcome!
they sound very plausible, i wouldn't laugh at those guesses.
hey there hurshy!
h'lo
anyone notice the big F-word never seems to show up here? (yay) think it's carefully unrandomized to avoid it?
I wonder about that rbud....I think maybe once it was here - does anyone remember?
the grids seem to be generally randomized to provide a certain minimum number of vowels so we don't have NO words, and to (over time) use the letters more commonly used in english more often. F and C and K all in one grid has low odds of happening, whereas N and T show up all the time, so the cu4 can happen more often.
and of course even if F and C and K and a U all made it in the same grid, they'd have to be lined up to make the word, further decreasing the odds.
maybe the grids are pre-screened, who knows?
oohhhhh, that explains so much! thanks hurshy! I did notice we do seem to be cursed with the cu word more than I would like. remember the sunday when it was just right out there, down one side of the grid? ohhhh, I was not happy!
other than programming constraints such as i mentioned (the existence of which one can deduce and be pretty certain of after playing for several years), the grids are not pre-screened.
doc definitely doesn't look at them.
does dr god play each day?
no, he doesn't.
perhaps he outsourced it to our de4 babble rabble!
K's do seem fairly rare here, really, I do morewords with a list of the letters NOT included in the grid, (for exclusion, you know?) and don't see it all that often
how do you exclude letters from morewords?
can I have a stat for the center column A, for NBT, please
it explains it on the first screen, use a ^ (carat) followed by the list of letters you don't want - helps a lot!
excellent, thanks rbud!
let's see sue - I only have 3 from that one so far - an 4, 5, ap 5, 14 and ar 6 21 if that helps at all?
trying to recall which A it was - I think the ar 6
no, probably not...hmmm
oh, whoops, rbud is right - ar 6, 21 not from that a....sorry!
an was one, ty, NBT
more coffee please

maybe am 4, too - I have am 4 x 2 so far

Not sure...just got here myself...
Maybe we should start a riot or something?
lol
i was babbling earlier, but not chatting. Of course there are several million things i need to do today, so don't want to spend too much time here, but it looks like clues might be helpful, and I like cadging a few from the chat usually

H1N1 hit the area around my practice from Columbus Day through 3 wks ago and was intense. 2 kids from northern suburbs died this past week, both teens. :-(
oh how sad.... but it has lessened in the last three weeks?
They've removed the "no children" at the hospital unless they're patients here; only to see how things may change over the holiday since everyone will be travelling and/or with tons of others
Yes, far less illness in last 3 wks, but 4 local kids have succumbed this fall.
sad to hear, scrabs :(
phantom: mascarpone
Good one, Vicuna
Know the word, would never have figured how to spell it :)
mine was fracas, not nearly as impressive though
Yeah, 10 glorious phantom letters! lol
* giggle *
ap5? is it a fish? my monkeys are tired.

i always miss that one, thanks ruru
yep, that would constitute a fish...txh ru ;)
Oh, I didn't have that either. Thanks.
down to 35.. think i'll yield to the magnetism of lickety's list
I need help on the ar 7 if anyone has it
that was going to be my next query, ru...
sorry, not yet, but n ow that i know there is one, i'll try
No, but Arapaho is there if it would take proper nouns...
oooh, nice, vi
change last letter of the 6 to dance of the sugar pl** fairies
What are the points on this ar7 we seek?
Oh, forget it then...
40
Thanks. =)
wow....thx Dorens ;)
opened lickety, saw the point count and got the monkeys to work
Good morning/afternoon all.
How many words today?
my monkeys saw it and said, "cha right, we'll wait for someone else!"
Hello, Haz!
morning haz ;)
I was working on breakfast--boiling 3 eggs. I don't get ap5 and ar7 yet
169
Thanks.
ar6 = ar + candy **** (xmas treat)
Hello! You can rejoice with me for I have put my shopping away, even though those bags were breeding behind my back.
Congrats, Haz! :)
I wish my groceries would breed. Then maybe they'd become a self-sufficient population and I'd never have to go shopping again.
good afternoon all
interesting idea, vi
Hello, sprite.
hi sprite ;)
Self-regenerating groceries sounds like just the thing - provided they do in the cupboards.
Hello, sprite.
I'd love that
hi haz, and sprite
You lay day a nest of clean wood shavings on all your cupboard shelves, I think. Then shut the door and leave them to it.
"day" + down
If they could do that I'd expect more: prep and clean up would be a nice bonus!
ar7/40 - begin with French Joan, finish with Latin year, minus a double consonant.
"+" = "=" (Typing. Sigh.)
interesting typos Vic! ;)
Back withhard boiled eggs + toast--a great pre-tennis match meal. tennis starts in 1 hr.
Now now, Pini, let's not be unreasonable!
indoor tennis, i hope
if only the fo4 would cook itself, I'd do the cleaning. Promise.
thank you haz..
Me, too. Because cleaning can almost always be put off, but you've got to have fo4.
You could always go on a raw fo4 diet. Now there's a thought to depress.
You're welcome, ruru.
exactly Vic! And if you must clean, you can pick the time. But cooking must always be done when my energy is lowest and the household at its most hectic.
i need help on two others I can't find
na 7?
and they are?
n + hike up the mountain
nm
na 7 = being born
I have been spelling it incorrectly *whacks head*
i need help on ar7/40 please help
Oh, yes, indoor tennis started in Sept.
just clued 60
I need help on tha pa 7 too
morning all
hi JenM
hi jen
I am still playing outdoor tennis...wheeeeeee
That pa 7 is cruel and unusual punishment
I'll try
ar7/40 - French Joan for three, four fifths of Latin year (leave out one of the double consonants)
pa 7 is a challenge... take the 6 before, switch the second vowel to another, then lose the last vowel and add two others...
have to run out to bank... see you later
..then put your left foot in and do the hokey-pokey...
lol
sadly, to follow that clue, one would need to have played the hokey pokey a few times before to get the 6!
got it dorens.. thank you..
how did you find that one? geez
I got it through a2z--it's a word used in Greek tragedy, for the ode sung to begin the play. Useful, not very...
Good morning ... I've returned to search for some more words. I have 83 left.
Hello, Merk.
Pinikula, the 6 is a common word (yay!) for a line of bands and floats
oy! thx jan ;)
pa + a mouse is a ***ent + pigs say **nk
Well, kids, I must get ready for tennis match. I shall return later
TY, Erda
have fun and good luck, Scrabs
Bye, Scrabbler. May you serve many aces.
Bye scrabbler
You're welcome
I had one yesterday--ball went exactly where I wanted it to go. Well behaved ball.
just got back from tennis, must nap.

Well done! Enjoy the game.
Hey HAz et al

I'm not doing very well on this board- have 38 left. There were people who were done at 9AM!
There were people who finished last night, too!
haha i have 102 left :/
down to my last 10 here...
a lot of a kind of complaining fish?
ha6?
I don't know why separatist feminists can't have a realm that is manpr--- but the word is apparently not in the dictionary
one never knows exactly what becomes a *real* word or not...
it's fun always having to wonder :P
ha + what seamstresses might have used to make a dress or other piece of clothing: *at**r*
I'm not getting it...
ha + hump letter + numeric word
I am really thick today
ooooh, thx BR...
Kap...sounds like the Ca**** of a ship
It's not so much a hump letter as a vegetable letter (round and green), follow it with the number before eleven.
Haz! La Glitteratinella!
'Tis I!
!!!!
TY
La Glitteratinabellina is resting after having a bath.
a bath! did she roll in mud / something nasty?
No, just a damp walk, it was mainly concentrated on her undercarriage.
ah yes .... undercarriages do get quite unpleasant in this weather. Hobbit's did too
Yes, so a quick freshen up keeps everybody happy.
How is your health status today?
does she go all prancy after a bath?
good afternoon, how is everybody? beautiful and sunny here in Ottawa
Yes! Insists on going outside again and would undo all the good if you let her.
ok, but I'm realising how much the flu took out of me - an hour slow walk with the dog and I'm back in bed asleep for half the day
sa6?
Hello, Enomis.
A treadmill for Hobbit looks on the cards.
yep! towel snorgling, woofing, running, run! run! prance!
Ha- I made up a word for sa6 and it was right? Random...
Never misunderestimate the value of made-up words.
I was outside at 4 AM this morning with Quid. He thought it was a great idea to play fetch for a while. It was lovely and clear with a warm breeze.
any more sightings of the Wild Beast?
I bet he loved it!!
The wild beast?
No, we seem to have managed to stop any stories going around.
phew!
I keep looking for it in the Sun
Afternoon, Babblers!
Hello.
The Wild Beast - as reported to the police by the boyfriend of a woman who claimed to have seen either a bear or a wolf as she came home one night. Boyfriend found a dead animal the next day and convinced himself that a beast was marauding.
Squad cars were sent forth, vet summoned to identify carcass (a long dead sheep) and to confirm that it died of natural causes.
Hello, Judi.
But quantities of Baileys were probably involved
Ah. When I lived on the UP of Michigan, I would see bears in our back yard. They had the right-of-way.
Probably. If they'd breathalysed the girlfriend they might have saved themselves a lot of trouble.
So, are marauding sheep a common problem in the British Isles?
Only the ones who have been trained in martial arts.
Kung Foo Sheep!
*plays "Wooly Booly* for all to enjoy (marauding sheep theme song).
or the ones persued by amorous Welshmen
EEEWWWWW. Mental pictures here. I got mooned by a patient last week, by the way.
Fireworks!
Well done, Merk!
yay merk!
YAY, MERK!
clue please for ra 5/14??
ra5/14 - a male sheep, then you and I.
having a problem: i have entered ar 7 several times. it says i have already entered it but it is not on my word list, and the a is not grey and it should be.......all a letters should be grey but one say 3/4 instead. any ideas?
Or ra plus a backwards maths addition.
Refresh, mkg.
refresh
thanks haz
You're welcome, sammys.
ty refresh worked.
need ca 5 14 first one.
it ususally does
was very upset today when I realised that canoe was only a phantom
I'm sure - especially when it's usually (note the correct spelling) one that you don't see.
If it makes you feel better, Ata, there is a ca5/14 (fowl).
you mean it's not usually ususally?
Not usually, no. Surprising, isn't it?
mkg: what you take pics with, minus middle vowels, add pl
I'm sorry. I thought I was FM for a moment
sorry, minus middle sound
ca plus a backwards Casablanca pianist.
For the ca5/14.
got it ty
What made yor realise you weren't FM? Not luxuriating in a jacuzzi? Not being able to ring for room service?
I have room service! Husband has gone out in the rain to buy food to make me dinner :P
Feeling blameless?
do 6 please?
That's unusually nice of him, Ata.
nm just got it.
sorry.
Lucky you, Ata. My husband went out to buy me drain cleaner. Not the same.
isn't it? I suspect something ...
I'm sure he's just being nice. Or perhaps laying up brownie points against the time when he has swine flu.
he already has a cold, and thus feels iller than I dp
*do
So, he's being extra sacrificial in going out to get you food.
and now apparently his back and his feet are officially problems for him. I have to give him lifts everywhere cos he can't walk
Does he not drive?
he has to rub castor oil into his feet and legs every day
Get him to that placenta woman that all the sportsmen are going to see.
ewww that's so horrid!
My dear husband is deeply cynical about the value of placenta and muttered that administration of anabolic steroids was more likely.
Sheep? Castor oil? Placenta? What the hell is going on over there???
It's so boring in the States, isn't it, Judi? We get all the excitement.
the placenta woman is in Estonia or somewhere
Some sportsmen with injuries are heading to see some Eastern European woman who is reputed to rub animal placenta into injuries with miraculous results.
what does she do with it Ata? My imagination needs to be reined in
Guh - ross.
Work these words into a sentence. Fools. Money. Easily. Parted.
HA HA Haz!
rubs it into injuries I think
Speaking to Dutch television programme Studio Voetbal, the Arsenal striker revealed: "I will fly to the Balkans to meet with a female doctor who helped [PSV Eindhoven midfielder] Danko Lazovic. She is vague about her methods but I know she massages you using fluid from a placenta. I am going to try. It cannot hurt and, if it helps, it helps. I have been in contact with Arsenal physiotherapists and they have let me do it."
These are footballers with no lack of medical attention and physiotherapists and yet they trek to see this placenta person.
i cant get the first do 4 5. so frustrated.......so guess i will ask for a gentle clue. asking for a clue for a 4 is against my usual
it is?
do4/5 - Nike told people to just do4/5. Or was it Michael Jackson?
Nike.
yes. i ask for fives and more....seldom do i ask for a 4.
ty got it.
Maybe it was what Michael Jackson kept saying to the plastic surgeons when they tried to make him see reason.
good for you :)
Clue for su8, please?
what you are with factor 50
Nm. Just got it.
su: what gives you a tan + your passport is ***** that you are a citizen.
Oooh. Just monkied an ar7. *tosses bananas as grateful offering*
That ar7 has possibly been today's most requested. You are now officially a member of the Babble Great Ones.
yeah judi
need na 7 clue plz.
n plus a climb to smell something good.
*sniff* I'd humbly like to thank my fingers, who rose from nothing to be able to perform here today. And my monkies, of course...*
ty ty!
You will be able to decide on how we must address you from now on, Judi.
No problem, mkg.
Good morning everyone. Very good actually, we are having some nice drenching Spring rain, 2nd time in 3 months!

The last ma5/14 is a plural.
howdy haz
oh my sorry haz. it is the second to last ma 5 14. sorry. there are three of them so i got confused. the second one is what i need.
ma5/14 - not female, you and I.
just a warning ladies, you know those floating pop up windows that offer you a free "security" scan of your computer with a offer to speed up your computer? well i hit one of those by mistake and it gave me what is known as a anti virus-virus,so be carefull with theese things.i had to totally wipe the drive, reset the patitions,re-install windows and lost all my games, information and personal settings..took 5 hours to redo it all;((
Okay, husband need computer so I'd better depart. Happy babbling!
Wow crossy. I would have to pay for someone to do that for me!
bye Haz
5 hours,non-stop work to recover
ty!
same here Bugs.
proper way to get rid of those is to use a clean boot cd with Spybot on it. saves the reload. Usually.
hi BJ
and now that you are clean, should install spybot and or ad-aware to keep the system clean.
usually, but this one first cirrupted my anti virus reg settings, started its own scan and corrupted all the key recovery options as well as delete/undelete and restore points
i was running avg anti virus and ad-aware
you just cant be clicking on them things
yep, that's whyt the boot-live CD is required. basically boots a clean copy of windows and then you can run diganostics also on the CD without running from the HD. keeps it clean.
i had to f8 aqnd go into safe mode just to access the optical drive for the recovery diask:/
wife got into one of those and every time i tried to go get a cleaner it redirected me to it's own sites. it looked like the cleaner sites, but close inspection of the url revelaed it for the lie it was.
clue for sc 5 14 last one please and need many before that one.......so many missing.
i have first 6 sc words than one sc 5 12. missing all others. wow.
basic rule of thumb is, your system will NEVER pop up with a window and say push this button to fix it. Don't push the button.
sorry have both sc 5 12s but missing last 4 sc 5 14s. so all clues most welcome.
dont i know this..thing was jittering around like crazy and was a mistake click
missing three sc myself. this puzzle definitely needs ghost busters applied to it....
sc 5 perfume smell, what you wear around your neck in the cold, sc + male sheep, sc + current music type
been doing computers and building rigs for almost 10 years now, first time one ever caught me
my last sc4.14 is sc & a 'stick' usually of metal like iron
ty bubba. dont get current music type.
sc + what you use to fish, sc + large monkey, sc + picnic pest
ty for all the sc,s bubba;)
you know the music, whose adherents are usually too illiterate to spell cr**.
think of music by eminmen
ewww
i try not to
ty all. still missing two: the sc 5 14 second to last one, and sc 5 14 the second one on list.
also take the last consonant off of the perfume smell and change it to a vowel
ty ty got the sc 5 14 second to last.

How do I let you know which one I am looking for
my daughter in 1979 :-)
cute pic
icon theme is pix that always make me smile :-)
No, there;s one more fr I need, and it,s not the New England icecream soda
i remember my mom and I got her the matching raincoat and hat in San Francisco that year . . .
I have a few of those too but I am still arguing wtih the scanner to get the photos accessible.
and that's a green magnet in her mouth! LOL
good luck, bugs!
Fr + 2 vowels Kaplan
fr4 f + fish eggs
I got that one - isn't there one more?
No, I'm all set- it just didn't come up on my Lickety grid
try another 2 vowels, Kaplan
there are two that are fr + 2 vowels
hey, nef :-)
Hi Fellow Babbblers. How are you all today?
been baking :-)
hi, unea. Cute picture! :-)
thanks :-)
hi nef
it's after 2 PM in the afternoon; and I'm still in my flannel nighty! I DESERVE a day off!
hi daboss.
go, nef! LOL
how ya doin
I have spent a lot of time looking for words I already have
we all do it, kaplan! LOL
I have 100 words left; I hope I can finish this grid today. I've started grids all week and not finished a single one (kept falling asleep --the horrid busyness has caught up with me)
aras
sorry, but not a word
I have 27 left but I have been very slow. I have not finished any yet
Come on Kaplan, you can do it! :-)
I've only been at this for a week. I don't know all the words. In wordsplay, you don't have to know all the words, you just have to type fast
Kaplan, you are helping develop your brain here! :-) No one knows all the words!
Kaplan, have you tried Lickety? many of us go as far as we can and is fun first, then use bulk add to have lickety help us keep track of the words we already have, and show us something about the ones we are missing
what's the point of typing fast if you don't know the words?
I am using lickety.
brandyjack! My goodness, I have seen you in years! Literally -- we just have not played at the same time in years. Nice to see you :)
Ah, thought I'd suggest since you say you're new here. ;)
coed
code
You type fast to get as many possible words on the grid- there is just as much accident- it's played by high scores on a 3 minute grid
Ooops!
I am new but am getting old fast
<put self in penalty box>'
have you found morewords.com too? That might help you
wordsplay gives uou more carpal tunnel
thanks for tips
Kaplan, if you're getting old fast, join Babble! ;-)
morewords.com ... checking it out!
it gets easier the more you play Kaplan. There are words people call Babblets that are words noone ever uses but show up here fairly often. You will learn those
Lickety just tells you what you've got and what ur missing, and how many letters, right?
for instance, there is a word ETUI that means a needlecase so people will clue, Needlecase alert
Dang, I thought it was listed down below the tile stats! It isn't! Wonder where I found it?
Etui is a NY Times crossword puzzle word.
Kaplan, look on the right side of Lickety and it gives you more help there too
Lickety also has a place on the right hand side where you can click on words by the length of the letters in them. They are listed alphabetically and it helps find truly bizzarre ones.
yep
BBL; gotta take care of the dog
Oh year- that's a lotta 4 letter words! I just looked for the one i needed.
I could never finish until I found that list that help with ones monkeys couldn't find
Hi to my fellow babblers! How is everyone doing today
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
kind of takes some of the fun out if there is a place to look up all the possible words, doesn't it? It becomes research!
Is this helping my brain cells not die out?
no, just knocks the rust off a little bit.....
No one forces us to look on the lists Kaplan. But sometimes when I have 1 left to finish and I am exhausted and there is no one around who can clue it, I am all over that list!
Hi MIn. Are you from N. Carolina?
Kind of last resort?
for me it is. I don't like to ask for clues to many words but I always check if i need the ones that are offered.
I don't think I can get my last 26 without a lot of clues or looking at the list, so I think I have reached my max. Of course there is always random typing.
that what monkeys are... random typing
Who's here from Massachusetts today?
And fireworks are when someone finishes? I catch on...
No I'm not. Just looked to see what happened on this day in history & found I out that North Carolina was the 12th state admitted into the union on November 21st, 1789. Icon theme is pictures that never fail to make you smile. I already have pictures of my dog in profile and of course he never fails to make me smile.
ok. well I must go for a bit and get things done here. happy babbling everyone
Goodbye Bugsaw! I will see you tomorrow in the chat
this grid is nor giving in easily;(

Just north of Mass.
Okay, thought I'd share my Minnesota roots with all of you for a giggle. I just tried the word "oofda" -- and it didn't work! :-P

Hi all
Hello wht! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
hello all - can any women who have kids give me some ideas? my sister's wishlist has things for how to help the kids learn and stuff, and i want to get her one of those things but also something that's just for HER. maybe something that would make her life so much easier but she doesn't even know about it. anybody got any cool ideas?

Hi jmcnrick! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Hi jmc. How are you doing?
doing okay wht
trying to think of something for hursh
hurshy, does she like bubble baths? So many women with kids like some time alone and something like that to encourage her to soak and relax might be good
Hi jmc. How are you?
yes, pampering products are a possibility
hi nef
help e top right
i would say a really soft robe or 500 count sheets that are smooth and silky
Maybe perfume?I think most women like to smell good
hurshy, do you live near her? Give her a gift certificate of time alone while you take the kids to a childrens museum or something like that
neither one of those take time and they still pamper her
nef's idea is good too
sixty7, it's a Italian Volcano (babblet) 4 letters
sadly i do not (yet) live close enough for that - if i did i would do it all the time!
then i think the soft robe or sheets
thx nef
i was wondering if they had toddler straitjackets for temporary immobilization :)
Personally, unless you *really* know what perfume she likes I wouldn't do that. I think too many people have their own perfumes that theywear OR they don't wear any at all (allergies, etc)
*looking up the baby protection number*
lol

My college roomie (in the OLDEN days!) loved a perfume by Avon called Charisma -- until that Christmas when she got the entire line of that product from perfume to powder. She kind of OD'ed on it; no one in the dorm (including her) could stand it after that!

Hi stiddy!
I am NOT taking the night - or day off -- I am judging high school debate. *sigh* I am SO out of my element!
you'll do just fine, Stid. just follow the check off sheet.
I disagree with you on that stid
i need to stid - my brain is on overload what currency i'm suppose to- i forget be using
not much of a check-off sheet, but doing my best, and improving. This is education at its finest (and most stressful)! LOL

good thing it's the first real meet of the year for most of the kids, so my novice skills won't ruin their lifetime records.
s'okay, ren, here. have a RUM and relax. I'll have my cabana boy massage your feet...

Oh, gosh, stid...I don't want to impose on that...that's family time! :)
2 hour drive
do you take I-5 at that hour or 205? (or is it 405)
I-5 to the 205 (I think the 405 is in Seattle)

pini, I think it would be okay with them. if you like I can call them on our way down tomorrow and confirm...
yes, there's 405 here, wasn't sure if other cities had one
But, stid...what will I do between 7:00am and noon? :)

Oh, I bought a toy for Koda today...it's an 8" tire to chew on with a rag rope going through it...he's been gnawing on the rope, but shies from the tire!
* curtsy *
yw, 67
tire probably smells funny, and is rather stiff. Koda will get used to it, and then watch out. that can be wicked when thrown.
he has a hard time trying to get it up on the bed with me...he makes me put it up and then he follows...
he has you so well trained, Pini! lol
well, that and the tire's too heavy for him to "lift"...but he can carry it ;)
8" is rather big
I thought the next size smaller would be too small...I should reconsider...
8" good size for a shepherd, rottie, dobie...
*ahem*
Koda's a 13" beagle...
TORGIE!!!
yes, tor??? * giggle *
Oh .. nothing ..
i couldn't remember what breed, koda was, but i knew he wasn't a big dog

(oh, that "uh huh sure" was for tor)
i knew that, Pini. :-)
* smile *
so, what time are you going to go to sleep Pini?
Oh, I was just pondering that...
...am thinking I might just lay down, turn all the lights off, and hope for the best...
(it's only 7pm!)
hi all

Hi JMC!
