Dylan cyber

no
totally unrelated to se8
no Diem, hi
no -- has nothing to do with the 8
ancient Roman coins se 9/54
although it uses a few of the same letters near the middle
diem, it uses the first 5 letters of se6/18
(if that helps)
oh shit that was my good one
lol
se 9: take the pronoun out of the se 8 and add a spanish aunt
primary, secondary, ******ry - that string of ****** is in it

Snowed in Fmitch? Boy the weather is weird. You have OUR weather and we have yours

glad to hear that FM, must be hard on anyone trying to get from a to b
FM are they deliberate cuts?
no lynxx, they are due to the weight of snow on tress and powerlines
*trees even
aparently we had -20 in the Midlands overnight - we are just not set up to cope with this sort of weather.
but we know you are all made of sterner stuff
mitch in Brum?

let's hope the results are negative -- did you do a test previously?
hells bells - ((()))
if i am, i'll te4 him...if not, he won't know that i even got tested
Babble hugs all round and please let us know.
i've never done a home te4...i go to the hospital and get a blood te4...it's more discreet for me

Yes, I suppose going to the drugstore and buying a kit would be indicative of something
not even close had to brake up a fight dog v raccoon (no winner) 100l left worked in garden to-day !!!
i was supposed to gotten the results this morning, but the clinic closed earlier than the receptionist said (she didn't even answer the phone...grrr) and the lab isn't allowed to give patients results???
oh, just noticed I have 75 left
how frustrating, ardilla!

i wanted to know in case i get the call tonight...i want complete closure when we have our talk
Where are you now, ardilla? In Japan?

it's okay to say my name dipp jilli gave me dispensation

Heck - time for me to go, lovely chatting with you all but must poof for now.
bye FM, have a god day
good bye FM stay safe and warm
bye FM -- hope to see you again soon
good day too - note to self, check before send
proud to have found the te7/32 because it's similar to the name of the sire of one of our first Danes -- a top English Champion!
bye FM
have you mentioned it before jilli? wracking brain
no, west -- wouldn't expect you to know it -- do you have the first te4?
found it - thanks Jilli
I do if it has to do with distances
wtg lynxxx!
not listing quite yet
oh
Ardilla, just got computer up, again. I wanted to say : he's lost you, but all you've lost is HIM )sorry, don't know how to do italics).
I'm listing now lol
the first te4/4 is a prefix imho
it is
I have a vision of one lol
guys on the end West
got the 7 thanks jilli
do you have it, west? Well, add males to it for the 7/32. The sire of my Dane had just a single male ending.
yw
thx jilli
that sounds like a noble name
great danes are pretty noble animals
gd morning everybody
Ch. Te7 of Moonsfield
hi ruby
hi ruby!
hi Ruby
hello hello hello
here's a story for you jilli our 6 yr old granddaughter was visiting and she noticed a globe in my husband's office..the first thing she said was "where is China?" I showed her and then decided to get her a DVD about China for Christmas
you'd think I'd done something wrong when she opened it..I say if they're curious now is the time to feed that curiosity
That's great! I guess she's been hearing a lot about China these days
Oh? She didn't like it? Well, maybe she was expecting a toy.
she was excited it was her parents that thought she was 'too young'
she got toys too
Silly parents.
I know she's like a little sponge
when I was about her age my aunt gave me a book about Greek and Roman myths and I've been interested in them since then
Cannot find that sw8
i gave the two of my grandchildren who are 6 globes for christmas, they love them
if you have the sw 5/18 just add the superlative Christine
not a real word
they are computerised
wow andree ours just spins
I'm assuming you mean the globes and not the grandchildren lol
I think I need another S, up top.
these tell you climate, population etc etc, i love it too
pretty fancy, andree!
I could have used one of those in geography class
west if it was th GC we could turn them off at the switch sometimes
lol andree but you wouldn't
our fancy dogs are canadian! chow chows from outside toronto
what are their names ruby?
the black boy is Max and the lovely shaded blonde girl is Ruby
they look like lions
kennel is Mi-Pao
There were some big winners from there several years ago, ruby
yes, and they act like cats
I hear they are excellent guard dogs
we have a calico cat named Ruby
yes, ours are related. We've had five of their descendants since 1990. Unfortunately, they are very inbred (especially the black ones) and don't live long enough
great cat name, too
she seems to like it but she was a stray so maybe she'd prefer her given name
Our others, all now dead, were Rosie (shaded blonde), Rufus (same), and Cleopatra du Lac (Cleo, a perfect little black girl who died at 2 of a congenital heart defect).
if you join you'll have to post a picture of them ruby
I think it's the tone, not the name. Have the time I call them poopy and they don't seem toknow the difference.
ruby is pro -- just doesn't have an icon yet!
so sad to lose a pet
I've joined, but haven't been able to make the icon work even with pinikula's help.
oh I remember now
I'll try and help another time, ruby, but it's late and I have to go to bed now.
ruby, do you have a PC or a Mac?
thank you for the offer, jilli, I am terrible with computers (and babble, lol); all I can do is type fast (but not accurately) lol PC and tons of wonderful photos of both dogs
my son put my first icon up and it took me a couple of years to work it out for myself so i could change it
too funny
I think you have to be young
are your photos in My Pictures?
swelt
whoops
yes they are
Should be easy, then!
But they should be cropped square first or they'll be distorted here.
OK, I'll be on later, what's a good time for you?
well, it's 1:10 am here and bedtime! We're out of sync :(
so you are 9 hours earlier
Do you know how to crop?
se9 please
when do you usually come back on? as all I do is cook, read and pet dogs, I can come on at any time
ruby, i wan't your life!!!
Oh, I found the sw8 ... who knew there was a T in the southeast corner
but you have to take my husband then.....
s + chemical which sounds like a girl's name + Italian aunt
se 9/54 monetary unit of ancient Rome
wtg Chris
ruby, tomorrow I'll be tied up all day until about 6 pm our time and I think you'll be in bed then!
I just spent 5 minutes trying to find the sw 6/30 and I already had it
time for me to go too
hi Christine
thx dip and jilli
see you all later
yw andree -- hope my clue helped
I'll watch for you and maybe have it figured out by then ho ho ho
hello, Luv - been here, on 'n' off, since the flip.
night west -- sleep well!
bye west
bye west
Ruby it's doable - Jillibus gave me the instructions, and I now have an icon.
well, ruby, I worked it out when I was new by following the instructions on the page (where it says Browse)
you must be young, christine!
73 next Monday, and almost totally computer illiterate.
Ruby, I'm only young at heart (see my profile, lol!)
oh, you guys make me feel better; I thought I was the oldest one here, I'm an old 66!
almost happy birthday, christine!
Not even close, ruby!
all ages here ruby, i am 66 too
birthday?
november
I'll be 83 in May
this is so different from lexulous blitz; it's a much more relaxed chat
april
feel more like 38
you are our most amazing babbler jilli
carry on ladies.......I'm feeling almost youthful lol!
It's the air, up in BC - Jillibus has a couple of neighbors who play, all about her age, I believe.
dart and maniac mitch and freep and and ruru and that lot are the amazing babblers
I think Canadians live longer!
Christine, just flosey, who is a few years younger than I am. We did have dilly, but she is gone now. She was older and I.
Coo, Herb Alpert is on television...
not on French TV, ruefully.....
*than I (bedtime, for sure, typos say)
Oh, I thought I'd seen a couple from your island.
gd night jilli, lovely chatting with you!!!
dinner time for me, back later
Goodnight ruby and all! *poof*
enjoy it, andree, see you later
evening everyone
husband calls, see you later
Andree, Long time no see. No golf?
I hear my pillow calling; goodnight, all.
hello?
hi.. just have 1 hand free
How you? I guess this means you have a bub on your hand?
yes... r u well
good. My cousin just had me in tears. he is such a sweet kid. he is going to right a song for his Grandad, his hero (his Grandad was my Uncle)
Aah, both hands free now.
How are you doing?
Aw, that's so sweet!
How old is he?
He is 18
am good. Just getting ready for bed
Sorry I asked twice... our messages got crossed. Hope you have a good night!
I thought I would watch this and er and then bed
How, ER is still on the air? (I don't have a working TV so I'm out of the loop.)
Ok I stuffed my gramatics up. I will play this grid and watch tv. No Er finished. But we are still on season 14
Gotcha. It's 5:45 a.m. and both my children are up and playing with toys... which reminds me, I need to check my older one's homework!
HOmework???
He's 7 years old. I'm now checking his math. He has to calculate perimeters.
erk. Math sucks
Especially when my son doesn't believe me that a perimeter can't be an odd number, such as what's happening now.
a perimeter of a what?
Don't look at me i ahve no idea about maths. Hi Ata
and hi :) hi herin!
of rectangles... i should have clarified. Yes, a shape with an odd number of sides can have an odd perimeter number
and hi ata!
i'm an oddball who likes math... but ended up a french major
that makes more sense :D
or 4 sides with different lengths
I have been looking at these products something that you mentioned in your profile Ata
Brook simple way of saying it is if it had 3 sides what would it be?
it's early enough in the morning here brookie that I wasn't sure whether my brai was going very very wrong or not :)
true, ata, i was thinking of shapes with the same length sides
triangle
my brain is never fully functioning, regardless of the time
nor mine usually with maths. especially when you look at a statement and just think hang on, that's wrong. isn't it? or is it? and start doubting your entire maths ability (which isn't much to start with) LOL :D
I'm also now administering a spelling test for my son. The words he's learning (like "definitely" and "persuasive") are words that most American grown-ups can't spell!
wow! that's impressive!
Of course, I'm happy he's learning them now...
is herin still there?
good question
Ata, I looked at your profile. I didn't realize there are Babbler teams?
for the folding thing yep
Yes i am sorry
No Ata the thing about sanitary pads for women
No Ata the thing about sanitary pads for women
gotta change a diaper... brb
you can still see that? how bizarre. I changed it to help crossy. but yeah ... that still just shocks me
No its not there.
I should rewrite it and add it back
There is a company that makes reuseable products and they also make donation
oh good for them!
I just can't imagine ...
the company is called New Moon pads I found them via a baby website. Research for a friend
will check em out!
I think its a wonderful idea.
sorry brookie, this was something else I alsways had in my profile about a charity providing basic sanitary wear for women in Zimbabwe who couldn't afford to buy any
with the price of the product maintained deliberately too high for most women to afford them
They had boob pads and since my friend is having a baby I was looking at the price
I know that Coles doesn't have GST on feminine hygiene products as it really is a double tax.
there, I at least put a link back up, I'll find the blurb I wrote and add it back up when I can
Is that Hobbit boinging in the snow?
yes :D
I took a few more today, I'll change it when I download them
very cute booooooing
she's very good at boinging!
I think she looks adorable. I can't believe how cold it is for you lot
it's bloody freezing!
awww
Its going to be really worm here
Warm not worm yeesh
I wish it was here
yer well
question
yes??
Would it be wrong of me to send a letter to the Department of Ed about a girl that is now a teacher that nearly broke my jaw in highschool?
she obviously didn't get prosecuted etc about it?
Doesn't seem so much "wrong" as "pointless"--hi herin
no unfortunatly
but it is disturbing that a person like that is a teacher
it is, but they won't do anything based on an old incident that could be entirely justified for all they know (obviously it wasn't, but they don't know what happened)
i agree,it would be pointless, kind of like me ratting on a guy who beat me up in 3rd grade who now just happens to be in a government position lol
It wasn't I was sitting down and she punched me in the face. No questions asked. i hope she comes back to the state for the reunion so I can tell her what I think
good morning everyone
hi Crossie

the other 8 I have is sw8/60, Richy on Happy days was just so SW5/18 but potsy was sw8/60 more

se9/54 ... se+ the first part of the latin(?) for 'third' (pretty off the cuff clue, hope it helps)
oh definitely!!
:-)
goodone, city!
Oh, brother!
se + snaky letter + first part of Latin word for 'third'.... might help if I clued the whole word *sheepish*
ty City
se9-----not brother, change last vowel and aunt in Spanish
;-)
yw, sorry I bungled the first attempt
ty miss annie
No, it was good City.

Are you unconfuzzled now Oodle, Sweets?

That's clear.
Or not. :-P

dan, someone who attempts to do something (in baby talk)
tx Annie.
Elmer Fudd in a courtroom? :-)
LOL!
making an attempt
LOL
did you get it dan?
yep oodle, I reclued it (kinda)
you're good I had to have it clued out for me
I got it too, but I'm pretty experienced with baby talk.
another clue would be a variation of one already given... a mark twain character with letters missing
I always try for NBB = no blank blanks
a blank blank is very blank babble
tm cule anyone?
Uh, clue
tm + plural s
tm+2 letters in the grid spelled out
ty br, I've never heard of a tm word before!
tx Annie

Hello Annie! am a bit fed up with the weather.
Quite pedantic today, Love. ;-)
Isn't she great
i always thought itty was a word

The ti's are making me crazy
I think we're all becoming Maxine. LOL

Good morning, all!
Hi Judi
Hello Judi
Hi Judi
Hi FM, hi everyone.
hi judi
but at least we didnt have power cuts todays (so far).
You are snowed in?
Hiya, Sally!
Hi Sally
Hi Sally yes Annie :(
We are snowed in as well :-(
Where is global warming when you need it?
oh dear, we can winge together then Sally :)
At least you have Babblefolk to talk to.
Hello all from snowy North London. Have just braved a walk - I remained upright. Husband didn't. Now to cricket and begin babble.
No milk, papers or post since Monday. Only tractors and the odd 4WD going up and down. Very quiet.
hi all
Snow bound and powerless. Harking back to the dark ages in the UK this week?
very true hego! Thank goondess for the babble community.
still snowed-in in Jolly Old England?
We have power *crosses fingers and toes firmly*
Hi jmc
So settle in for a natter, I say.
Yey! for having power!
yup, hego
not going to cmplain, have food and power and babble so life can still carry on but do fee l a bit fed up tho.
it's 30 below at Old Faithful...
spring is right around the corner
We have plenty of food but running a bit critical on the cat food so could be a major cat crisis!
What corner is that BR?
nice try BR
you can cook rice in broth for your cat
go down two blocks and take a left
Cat's can eat people food, Sally. My cat likes chicken, fish, beef, pork, etc.
I am done.
*imagines Old Faithful erupting and turning into ice before it hits the ground*
Congrats Annie!!
congrats, Annie
my cousin-in-law always cooked vegetables, rice and a little meat for cats
Nah, OF is too hot for that, jmc.
whoo hoo annie!
YAAAYYY!!! Annie *-8-* *-8-* *-8-*
lol jmc. We have had these cats since about 4 weeks old and they have never eaten anything but Hills. They will not eat anything - chicken, fish, anything - except Hills. However, I have some emergency cat food and if they are hungry they will eat it. The only other thing they eat is mice, but I draw the line at going out and catching mice for them.
:-( but i can imagine! lol
lol sally make them catch their own mice
but yes if they are hungry enough they will eat the other food
Oh they do, jmc!
yes, I agree they will eat it if we really run out.
do any of them have an M on their forehead? that is suppose to be the sign of a good mouser
nbt
my brother used to catch flies for his pet spider
wtg harp
slept with his mouth open, did he?
eeewww jmc
I'd draw the line at fly catching.
lol jmc, is that sort of like the feline scarlet letter?
rolf!
babble is so educational
no but my great-aunt Ina always told me that was how to find a good mouser
picked up a substitute job, bbl
what FM?
poof
interesting jmc
we have a lot to thank Jamie for and a lot to blame him for too!
wtg sue!
Jamie??
Jamie = Dr God
Oliver?
I never knew that!
*quickly notes it on the score card*
lol hego
Uh oh. You've revealed the secret identity of our super hero.
Sorry Judi, but as a long term babbler forgot it was a secret :)
all these l's and s's are making me dizzy. :-P
I am so thankful I am not snowed in. When I cannot get into my car and go where I want I feel imprisoned. May the sun come out and me4 away the white stuff for FM and Sally.
i kinda like being snowed in for a couple of days
Amen!
There is a babbler who name escapes me right now who was his teacher and has babbled since the early days. Thank you Aniie!!
it was artlady.

ty and bye annie
hi oodle
tm6= Separation of the parts of a compound word by one or more intervening words; for example, where I go ever instead of wherever I go.
hi jmc
where I go ever? not sure that makes sense as a sentence
well it was in the definition
Sounds like Yoda speak to me.
well there you go then!
Once went to a school that had an annual general knowledge quiz. One of the clues the first year I was there is in the grid ' the residue at the bottom of a pipe' for ever after that was my nickname!!!!
oh now you want me to leave gee
sludge?
Ashes?
I might even have preferred sludge!!!
what was the knickname -- I promise not to call you it!
No, it is one of the do words
*shocked look*
Cant tell you JM or |I'd be in the naughty corner for using one of the words!
uh
kids are so cruel and grownups do so little about it
no you won't cause I burnt the PB down
to this day i am very sensitive about the word cooties and always maintained that if someone had given my child a Cootie game I would throw it in the trash instantly
OK I'll give you a clue - my proper name tho' one that is never used is Dorothy!
hi all
*puts oodle in handcuffs for arson*
the meaning that you agve was a clue to the word?
hi boo
Do6/21. I guessed right!
Ah! I think I can guess your first name then Deeha. A character in the Wizard of Oz?
It was the definition oodle
ty deeha!
here i was busily being indignant on your behalf and you were giving us a clue all the time!
Thats the one - a rush of Dorothy's in the late 30's!! - also Shirleys - you can often tell a persons age by their name
Youy can still be indignant JM!!

same word rumple - minus one cons
means salt in french
TY that took care of my 4s, 11 to go.
hi, new here, have a question - how do y'all know what the second letter to a missing word is?
Twitchy, you have to go to the bottom and click Licety's Babble clues. You will find there the handiest list of clues. Good luck!
twitchy, most days there is a list posted under the link "lickety's babble clues" below the grid
must be blind - not seeing it ?
below the tile stats - whole list of links - lickety is in the middle column
under friends of Babble, those are links
see it now, thx
hi all
hi twitchy welcome to the grid
Hi jmc
hello everybody
Hi ruby
thx for the welcome; another question: Under the clues link, what does the second number in each clue (number after the comma) mean/refer to?
Ti's the number of points each word is worth
need third me 5 12 plesae.
Like in Scrabble
thx so much hego
yw
I don't have it mkg,sorry
So if I'm understanding correctly - the letters in the clues are the first two letters of a word, the first number is the length of a word, and the second number is the value of a word - thanks again
You got it!
need oy 6 plz.
sometimes you can get a word by using the math.
twitchy, it is a really fun game. very addictive though. so watch out.

Indeed. Hi DC!

pb red
Oh oh, Looking for word!

Ahhhh!
Well, My icon is a clue then.
love your icon, science :D
huh. Argentina has a bumper corn crop, with an extra 1.5 million tons for export
ty dc always makes me luahg since i am a teacher and a biker
Perhaps they could send some to Africa.
hopefully, red
How goes your Job situation DC?
esstset, not esset for the German double-s, yes?
i have someone trying to place me for 3-11 at a low rate. :/
hi
i'll have to see how it comares to unemployment.
hi, angel
low rate is not nice. COnsidering your experience. But if it has nice benefits or something...
yes, esp with 3-11 shift
my nurse friend says 3-11 is not a bad shift.
yes true. I admit though I think 3-11 is a pretty nice shift. you sleep at night, and have some day hours too.
3-11 for nurses is pretty rare these days Sicence! most of us are stuck on the 12's But I love having 4 days a week off..
though it eliminates weekday social time
true if its each day. I forget that would be 5 days a week...
4 days off would be great. NPR did a whole thing on nursing yesterday - pay is good from what i heard = makes me want to go back to school for an RN
Pay is very middle class income. I think Science it is about the same as my sister makes as a Teacher. maybea bit more, or a bit less.
Tom works 4 days in 10
need the me 5/12 and 6/21 please
Vacation time is a pain though. I have worked so many holidays and during bad weather you are always having to work when everyone else is off for it.
BSN RN earns less than a MA Teacher here
nm got them
The BSN really means so little. But, I think it does help in the long run.
well i teach high school - no masters - a bs and a ba with teaching cert hours
And people do do all sort of gross things to you.
Tom's BSN got him a 10% pay increase
I am sure Tom has some stories.
not leat in getting the degree awarded 7 years after he completed it :)
well i guess i meant a bsn! sure a lot of my pre med hours would transfer into that
Thats the hospital decision, some offer a bonus, but most really don't care. I recall TOm works for a pretty nice system there.
Inova, yes
Well, Science, the thing is BSN or AAS degree you all have to pass the Boards. Otherwise you can't work.
of course, but i am sure i could manage the boards with some prep
The prep would be going back to school. The boards in my opinion are pretty simple.
i love being a student
Well, I would recommend doing nurse aide work, before you commit to school, if you can tolerate it you can tolerate nursing. there is some statistic that almost half if not more nurses leave the professionentirely after 5 years.
hi red and dc
hi, jmc
hi jmc.
why is that? that is also the stats for teaching
hi everyone
hey oods
teaching, one is not wiping excrement from people and stenting blood
hi, oodle
The pay is not that good. Each day we are exposed to diseases that may kill us, people curse at us, pee on us, vomit on us, on occasion they hit us and punch us.
that was the down side on the NPR story
Hi Oodle.
where on earth do you work red
but there's not only hospital nursing
oodle I am an Emergency Department nurse.
and hi :)
well er can be a trip
hi, ata
well you need another profession. this is NOT acceptable!!¸
I can not imagine doing what the floor people do all day though I would rapidly find a new job.
a lot of lawyers drop out too
Oodle, I am quite happy with my profession.
I think a lot of people pick jobs based on TV and are shocked by the reality
Red, do you work for a county hospital or private?
oh ok, well if you are happy...
Private, it makes no difference Science.
jmc quite right
we don't have county hospitals here in VA. They do in parts of MD though.
JMC, I think you are right. Tons of kids in the ER tell me they want to be "crime scene investigators" lately...
Red- just from experience, i thought county er was harder because you get all the gun shot wounds and the auto accidents
trauma center stuff
Trauma Centers get the Trauma Center stuff. Private or Public. But with the EMTALA laws we have to treat whatever comes in the doors, patients are no longer shuttled to another hospital.
in houston it appears that most of the trauma cases go to one or two hospitals that are full trauma er's.
if i were shot in houston i would want to go to ben taub
but there's also nursing work in dr surgeries / community nursing and stuff?
Thats how it is supposed to work Science, there is a trauma system. Trauma centers have Surgeons in the building and an OR that is staffed all hours.
me too jmc!
ok I only have 223 more words to go whooooohooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Yes Ata, but the pay for those jobs is a lot less than for Hospital stuff.
or if you are in a bad car wreck
I hope I never get shot!!! or in a bad wreck...
but it's still a nursing option if you don't want sooo much puke and wee ;P
But yes, there are levels in the US, Level one and two trauma centers, are the biggies, Level 3,4,5 are places that trauma should not go.
bbl
Not if I want to pay my bills Ata!!! I mean the pay is really less, and there aren't that many jobs. Most MD offices hire Medical Assistants, and or the LPN's.
31 left .....d, r, t, s
Anyway...
3 se's left
that sucks. it's certainly an option over here!
Science, when you do the grid do you systematically do each letter?
me either especially in Houston! lol
I gotta admit though, i like my job. I like working with patients. And I like the occasional adrenalin...
well, red, sometimes, first i get all i can readily see, then i poke around randomly, then my OCD kicks in and I list and go through each letter (not necessarily in alpha order) LOL
i do random until i stall, then work from Z to A
I pretty much get all I can then list and go from a-z with list. I was just curious... Everyone has a system it seems. some people start from the top corner...
that is my method except for the OCD part
well, takes one to know one, jmc
I just do it randomly
i try for easy ones then nbt
On occasion I have tried Z-A but I dont like it.
i jump around....looking for ti 7.....
ti7? oooo
ti 7- without neckwear
got it
hi all
I have a ti 6.
or 2.
babble virgin here - can someone explain what the tile stat boxes mean?!!
on casual fridays men are ti7
back for last 4. anyone have se 6 18 the last one?
pic - the tiles tell you how many words beginning with that letter are associated with that particilar tile
Science you dont want to know what I tried first.
nm got that one.
do tell red! must be good!
I did the same red :)
tile stats tell you how many words can be made from each letter. Read the help (above the chat log)
hi mix

hi jmcnrick
hi kalia mkg and pic!

well if you can have the ti7...why cant something be without breasts?
help did not address that part! So, A for example - there is one word or 2 that begin with that letter?
two words
two words
true science. I was wondering about the clue...then I got it...
thanks. Then what does the first # stand for?
HELP - 1 word left (se9,54) and my monkeys took the rest of the day off!
hi jmc
hi rolin -- I tried that one meself
The digit in front indicates how many of the words you have got, and the last digit indicates how many there are in the grid.
how many you have found.
how many words you have from the total
the A, there are 2 words that begin with that letter.
how many of the words from that tile that you have found
need ti 7 clue rolin plz.
BTW - Hi everybody!!
check out the help about for useful info pic
se 9 = your female sibling (different vowel than an "i") plus spanish aunt
hi soodle
se9 is not se5 + le4. I keep trying and it doesn't work.
does anyone have the last me 5 12?
ti7 without neckwear
attle
hi soodle.
And sorry about earlier, About my nursing rant.
le4 is more
me 5/12 - me4/5 minus one of the double cons plus ne4/4 minus last cons
It is often touted as a great profession without mentioning the other stuff...
JMC< spoken like a true Quaker on the Le4 word.
:-) just being my silly same self

a Peter Jackson film - "An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth suddenly find a kindred spirit in a government agent that is exposed to their biotechnology."

I want to see District 9!
http://www.ch131.com/ <- science :0
hi ch1212
clue for the last re 5/10 please
or, "a film using science fiction to depict apartheid in South Africa, using the backdrop of the real slums"... and of course, a fantastic commentary on how we human groups tend to treat anyone who is "different".

hi, ch1212
i saw district 9
testing...
looking good for Elegant
1, 2... testing ... :D
thought it was so-so, but have provided much residual humour because my brother-in-law is a saffa
nice one elegant.
clue please for the last re 5/10 i dont see it
so lovely hearing SA accents
lol, been so long since ive set up an account;/
mm,her flag still will not show
SA accents sound very strange to my US ears.
it's like being home for me, my step-father's family is south african, I've spent a lot of time there
Big year for SA - with the world cup coming up.
the world cup is going to be wonderful
ok..this should have it..i hope
yaaa!
Oh - Don't get me started about how the Paddies were robbed - Thierry Henry - Grrrr. LOL
even poor Thierry thought so!
And then, the Paddies went and disgraced themselves by looking for a 'back-door' entry into the cmpetition. (Shakes head in despair)

i want to see District 9, i'll have to rent it sometime
we need a Chihuly day for icons
It's very very good
but very intense
I watched about 3/4 of it and really needed a break
it's far too realistic!
Can I rent District 9?
I watched it online *whispers*
are there any a clues
Goodmorning everyone
i have an ai4 plural
if it means anything to anyone, I saw District 9 in the theatre on opening day and it was extremely disappointing and horribly done.
hi lynxxx
morning, lyn
and an at4 plural
Lovely phota again Ata - what IS in her mouth that ir making her ey** go mad
it's her ball on a rope :D
i've heard that from a few people, krysten.
I thought it was amazing
The story concept was good as was the underlying message but overal, it was so bad. My husband and I wanted our money back and we didn't even pay for it!
there's random ice around from the snow 3 weeks ago, and we're to get more tonight.
*overall
I have just remembered what District 9 is, I really want to see that too. My Jess saw it twice and was rapt and another SF friend saw it too and was impressed
I guess for me, some of it was the "let down" of another "shaky camera syndrome" movie. After Cloverfield and Quarantine (not to mention Blair Witch), it's just too much.
well I didn't see Blair Witch or Quarantine or Cloverfield :0
what did you think of Cloverfield Krys?
*slide tackles Ata*
brb
eeeeeva!
i've not seen any of those movies.
Now look what you have done Eva!
hint for left-column T pls?
tw5.22 rhymes with opp of wetter
I liked it, actually. Strictly speaking, there wasn't much too it but they did a good job with keeping up the tension without showing "the monster".
thanks, lyn
back
Still nibbling away at your games DC, doing the food one as well. Might be finished in another month. Thanks for the lnk
i slide-tackled her right out the door...
I wish my potato would cook *glares at it*
[Ata's laser beams shoot out of her eyes and bake the potato instantly!]
wish they would!!!
Have you tried putting in a cooking appliance?
* it in
hi Car
Hello Lynxxx! Hello Babble friends!
it is it is!
Have you turned the appliance on?
I am not asking these questions to be rude or imply that you wouldn't have done that...I just know that I forget to do things....
...and then I am stunned as to why my food is not ready!
hi car
LOL for once I managed everything and it *will* be ready in 4 minutes
Hey Boo!
it's just that 4 minutes seems forever at the moment!
Yummers! Baked potato.....drool.....
I am doing another weight loss challenge and I guess I am a little bit hungry!!!!!
is it 4 minutes yet?
According to the chog we have been talking about the potato for 4 minutes, so it must be ready!
hi Babblers - hope it's all good for all of you
wheeee! *runs downstairs*

*happiness*
Ata? what has made you happy? are you smug?
baked potato!
red - why does the penalty box need a coffeemaker???
her spud
Yummm...please! Describe it to me....
PB needs coffeemaker so we something to mix with the whiskey
Well, that was a long time ago, and we had an icon theme about things for the Penalty box. I had a ryal coffeemaker in my icon.
ok - where's the penalty box?
WTH! How can i still need 4 more DOT_ words?
word!
Does FM still have it in her icon???
sje has pics in her profile
who is sje?
she!
The Penalty Box is where you spend time if you put a 'word' in the chatlog
It often has lots of fictitious treats. and cabana boys bojazz.
guess i owe the PB many minutes then...
and massages.
it really needs cabana girls too
no cabana girls??
And booooooozzzzeeee....and chocolate!
i wanna go there!
Those are the baristas...
baristas?
they serve the drinks.
isn't that a lawyer?
how about back rubs?
No No a barista is a coffee drinks maker a Starbucks. But we of course have better than Bucks coffee at the PB.
learn something new everyday...
ti 7/28 please?
the clue I stole from ScienceGeek is that on casual fridays men are Ti***** without something.
a compound word.
thx red!
TY red!
where women are concerned, men are cl******
YVW both! I got the clue from another though.
how about te 7/28 then?
you know barista isn't peculiar to Starbuck's Red, it is in general usage here. Italian in origin
I think the first it was introduced was at Starbucks in the US.... you know, un uncultured Americans!!!
starbucks -> common usage
Or maybe thats when I first heard it...
i wonder if starbucks made up the word
No they didn't
My husband uses the term here in Caribou Coffee
BBL!
did they steal it from Aus?
It is Italian and seeing as they perfected coffee (in my opinion anyway)...
I just looked it up, and it is Italian in origin
horrid stuff!
my son-in-law sells Italian coffee (Bella Latte) - certainly equal to Starbucks
Starbuck's uses the term because it adds to the snob appeal for the posers they rely on to buy their crappy, overpriced coffee .. imho ..
phhhtt
(that was for Ata)
tell us how you really feel togone :)
I am partial to Caribou coffee
I used to love the Caribou Coffee shop in CHapel hill Hawkins.
No Caribou Here.
not my fault I nearly die just looking at a cup of it!
Starbucks does seem to overroast the coffee.
they've gotten too big and lost their touch
I really enjoy their Chai Latte
oh the te 7, was clued and then written into the chog, its phone males.
caribou coffee overcooks their cookies
Sorry Ata. You miss ut on one of the true pleasures of life. Tea is lovely but a coffee
Never had Caribou cookies.
I don't go for the cookies. The muffins are good
I always enjoyed the coffee and the atmosphere the Ten cent trivia.
Yeah, My hubby runs the Caribou in Cambridge, MN
I like their teas though
I would love to have on here in town. We have Barnies and Bucks, but most of the young crowd hang out at Panera.
don't know if they will be putting any down there
old crowd hangs at Perkins.
my husband has a good group of regulars
Well, if they put one that has nice comfy chairs and wifi in Clermont, I will be a definite regular.
babbling 9 in a coffee bar?
perfect
totally, I sometimes take my kids and go visit papa at the store.
I'd love to have a good coffee / tea shop in town
They are such a thing here...the nearest group of shops to here, some 30 shops, has 6 places you can get a good coffee. We are spoiled for choice. Well populated too
Starbuck in Austrailia was great
hi everyone
we have a Tea Shop in our mall called Teavana. i <3 Teavana.
Hi Oodle
I think most of them are in the major shopping malls. Certainly not common. I have only been there once - didn't like the coffee at all
hi Oodle
Seattle Coffee was great here until it got taken over by Starbucks
there are five here in Quebec city
just learned the name of a kitchen tool used to remove skin from fruits - wonderful! I'm sure i'll use it again soon. May call my daughter and ask if she has one.
hi oodle
McD's has best coffee. Timmies is to watery and Starbuck's burns water....
starbucks started in seattle in 1971
hi BJ
hi brandy
hello, just bought a hard copy of Joy of Cooking of $1.50 I am so excited.
McD's coffee ain't nothing
kewel peri
hi Peri
can anyone clue ze7/48?

a money of account of ancient Rome, equal to 1000 se****ces.
thanxfor clues...got it!
lol I just looked at the pic of Hobbit again. Her eyes!! She's so expressive
funny
just got an order for 120 gallons of paint - maybe i should get to work? bbl
she hates all toys, apart from one fuzzy reindeer and her ball on a rope. the ball on a rope is the Best Thing in her Whole Universe
does Stew have a favourite toy?
clue for top i, anyone?
Tug of Wars? I can't get Stew into toys either, usually just one furry animal he sleeps with and occassionally 'kills' - a polar beer at the moment, previously a white lamb
greek letter
Eriin - I don't care one io**!
strange, isn't it! I've bought Hobbit so many toys and she's just not remotely interested. But the second you get out the BoaR or the reindeer, she's transfixed
Stew ran after a ball - once. That's it.
looooooooooooooool
thx atalante and lynx - I knew it but didn't think it was there!
Hobbit will run after balls and sticks. Then bear them off and hide them. None of this returning business!
I've tried to teach her to bring them back for 8 years now LOL
and squeaky toys! Too scary!
oh yes! far too scary!
clue for the top w plz
though Hobbit did have a squeaky stick when she was a puppy and she did like that
Might get the morning walk done (and buy a coffee!) going to be hottish today. Catch you later
Ne4y is so a word it is the sweet monster that lives in Loch Ne4 dammit... gee
hand to hand fighting in a ring - last 2 letters

sounds like the new xbox!
back
hi jmc!
:-)
Heya
yesterday my office was freezing and today it is stuffy and i am having trouble staying awake :-(
stuffy is always worst
:^o zzzzz
yeah i can always put on a sweater but there is a limit to how far i can strip in front of the 20somethings
i'm sure they'd be amused!
not my son -- he's one of them
tell him it could be worse, it could be a naturist office
lol
oooo sudden horrible cringy memory - my stepfather is a naturist - he used to open the door to my school friends either completely naked or wearing a thong
now see there! you wouldn't want me to do that to my son!
it's character forming :P
he's 24 his character is formed
nah, hes still getting there!
I met a liitle girl in Knoxville, a town we all know we4, And every Sunday evening, out in her home I'd dw5, We went to take an evening walk about a mile from town,
I picked a stick up off the ground and knocked that fair girl down.
Go down, go down, you Knoxville girl with the dark and rolling eyes, Go down, go down, you Knoxville girl, you can never be my bride.
how - um - charming
How sw5. =P
Hello!
Vi!!!!
the stanley brothers used to sing that
Can I admit, I am rather hating this grid. I dont want to finish but some part of my dutiful protentant upbringing is forcing me to do it
hi vic!
Fireworks! Whew!
Remind me to stay away from Knoxville le4 random singers gratuitously knock me down with a stick.
wants to be hego...
whoo hoo hego!
cngrats!
Yay for hego!
thank god i got rid of my Protestantism if would have forced me to finish a grid!
If it isn't fun, don't do it, redturtle! (Except that i know the feeling we4.)
I can't stop.
*puts on Quaker bonnet over foil cap*
I just can't!
I'm glad my Protestantism doesn't make me finish grids!
cute look Jmc.
I think it looks especially nice with the white apron
But jmc, Quakers ARE protestants, at least certainly historically speaking.
Oh come on Atalante, you know you finish grids.
I do you one better, jmc. My foil hat is in the shape of a bonnet to begin with. =P
I was not going to point that out Vicuna.
i don't think so since the rose against the church of england
not at the moment I don't!
nice job Vic!
I thought finishing was a good thing. shucks. All for naught.
I normally do, just not at the moment
the church of england was protestant and we rejected it
:-P
I'm CoE
And after it took me 2 months to be able to do it. Oh,well.
The picture of protentantism and QUakerism is not that clear jmc...
look here: http://www.quakerinfo.com/quakprot.sht ml
Well, yeah, but all the Protestant groups reject each other all the time! lol
well there you go ata -- you are a protestant
many quakers in modern day do consider themselves Protestants.
that's what I said!
though I was brought up in a Catholic school
I thought that all Christians who were not Catholic were considered Protestant.
I think it depends whether you define Protestantism by its theology, by its history, by its not-Catholocism, or what.
pooh I disagree with Bill Samuels about a lot of things
But these days, if you look at some Quaker sites it states you can be a Quaker and Not be a Christian. which I find a little ridiculous.
no, actually some Anabaptist are quite clear they are not protestants
baptists, methodists, definitely not protestants
I guess they mean philosophically.
the Quakers, Imean
I have no problem with not being a Christian and being a Quaker -- I kinda draw the line at not believing God in some form
well that's silly because methodists are low church CoE
Amen, jmc! But of course there are those who would argue that, too.... sigh.
I find it a bit odd.
But then again, Quakers always must be doing something they feel is progressive.
Well, we are a pEculiar People, redturtle! lol
Peculiar
I don't know, jmc. Spend years in my business watching people suffer and die and it becomes difficult to believe in a benign, loving god
Vicuna, I don't really think of Quakers as Peculiar people. I'm one, and I am not peculiar.
do Quakers not believe that Jesus is a saviour then?
many do and many don't ata
the Quakers in England mostly do
Ata, I had always been taught growing up that Quakerism is a type of Christianity. However, I was doing an interview with a friend for her religions class, and some web sites now say that it is not that way.
how complicated!
There is no lump "Quakers believe" of almost anything, Ata. Some definitely do, some definitely don't. Many believe in the teachings of the historical Jesus, without the Personal savior aspects.
I'm a dirty papist and I don't think Quakers are peculiar.
I find it a bit complicated Ata. I sort of stick to what I was taught in school.
well we are offended that you don't think we are peculiar!
Then we must be doing something wrong, hego! Though can you be a papist without believing in God? Or only a dirty one? =P
you can not believe in God, just believe in Jesus and Mary and the Pope :P
I didn't say I'm a non believer, I just said it's difficult.
One of the reasons I stopped going to some meetings for Worship was that people tended to want to "be led by God" to discuss the situation in Iraq for an hour.
Ah, an important distinction, hego, and one worth serious respect.
there are three primary (and several minor) branches of Friends. Two of the primary branches believe that Jesus is Christ and one of them doesn't really care one way or the other.
I guess I went to school at the Jesus CHrist branch. Ha!
That's too bad, redturtle. I also dislike meetings that are too political.
wht and I are on the general board of one of the Christian branch
so what does the third branch think Jesus is?
LOL Red
I mean it's one thing to really be led to say something about current situations...but....
what school red and I can tell which one it is connected to.
WHat branch, jmc?
I like the open minded attitude of Qualers.
In Orlando they have a good solution. they have meeting for worship and right after "Meeting for learning"
I went to Westtown. We do the silent silent meeting.
well the FGC (Friends General Conference) accept people regardless of whether they believe in the divinity of Jesus
Are you on the board of FGC, jmc?
see open minded
and how do Shakers fit into Quakers? Or don't they?
(Oh, not if you said it was the Christian branch you were on.)
good afternoon, how is everyone?
They don't. Mother Ann Lee had some Quaker history, but she invented her own thing.
Don't ask!
Hello, Enomis.
hi eno
The shakers were really rather different.
ah ok!
shakers... I guess I,ll go down the chat log...LOL
(ANd for "rather" read "totally.")
they rhyme, tho :)
I tried to save you eno
Well, they bpth have er at the end on their names.
Westtown is under the care of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting and is an FGC affiliated YM
lol, redturtle. -aker endings, actually.
lol we were always taught that the Shakers were a "extreme" form of the Quakers
just popped in to say hi
off agan for a few *poof*
hi Kris
Nah. you were misinformed.
Hello, KrisE. Errr, I mean, goodbye!
isn't babble great!
oh my God, you guys are really serious and intense... trying to escape a tough grid?...
shakers, based on the dreams of Mother Ann Lee, believed in the absolute separation of the sexes and therefore you were never born a Shaker
See Eno
hi bye kris
not serious just talking
I do hate this grid enomis.
We're not serious, Enomis! We are discussing theology AND throwing cream pies!
*wipes chocolate cream pie off bonnet*
I want a cream pie.
thought so... cream pies... hmmmm can i have a strawberry coulis on it?
I want someone to cook me dinner.
(The real reason Quakers wore dark clothes -- to hide the chocolate cream stains.)
and then give me a cream pie!
Next time throw something that won't stain my bonnet
yum!
me too me too red!
Is the se 9 an obvious word?
Ahhh, and we thought it was simplicity, dark goes with everything.
NO!
It goes with everything... but it REALLY goes with chocolate.
Hi car
awww silverclaws come to say hi
a little clue hego? LOL
I spent the day cleaning my kitchen, and som eof the bathroom...I am thinking about a pizza, but. I think I shall make turkey.
Hi! Just trying to get my last word....
yes but a white bonnet doesn't look good with chocolate stains!
hi car
female sib with different first vowel and spanish ant
hi silverclaws
Your bonnet isn't gray? Oh my.
Yeah, sorry about that jmc. You should have made a tinfoil bonnet like me.
has anyone here read The 19th Wife?
TY! Fireworks!
whooo hooo car!
no ata te4 me about it
very good clue hego, txs!
I don't ahev a bonnet, must work on it.
yeah car!
No,no they're mad at people who finish today!
It's her cap, I think, redturtle, not her street bonnet.
Yay for car.eeyore!
you'll be snapped at.
Anyone need clues before I go?
OMG, a street bonnet. Like ilicit street drugs?
it's really interesting - it's a mix between a modern-day story about a sect of extreme Mormons who practice polygamy and the "diary" of Ann Eliza Young - Brigham Young's 19th wife. It's definitely fiction, but theres a lot of fact in there too. It's quite fascinating
Anyway,yw car.
lol, redturtle!
Couldn't have done it without you Hego!
i guess i will have to make a foil bonnet
Read "Under the banner of Heaven"
Oh thankyou so much Car
Well, I must go shaker my bonnet and get my boys some dinner like a proper wife and mother! Tee hee!
my husbands great grandfather founded Ricks College (now part of Brigham Young University) so I can always impress mormans with my connection
FUnny car!
so proper car!
Bye, car.eeyore!
ok going to cook dinner, be back later... maybe... not a fun grid.
Oooh! Very impressive JMC!
bye eno
Bye Car and bye All.
ooooo!
bye hego
Bye, Enomis!
it is fun to drop the name
it's a book definitely worth reading, jmc
the Herb Block award was given this year to the editorial cartoonist of the Salt Lake City newspaper and we got into a great conversation with that entre
i will put it on my list but i just got a box of books from my mothers estate that will be taking up quite some time
my best friend's family are Mormon, I find some of her tales fascinating
you can never have too many books in the queue!
I am glad I have a few more years ahead of me ata!
help with the A -- I have the feeds my face one
take the first letter off fish-catching food
It's a homophone of the one you have.
I've known some mormons.
And with that un brilliant statement I am going to go get dinner prepared.
looooool
I kept throwing a gratuitous E in that word ty vic
lol, redturtle. Goodbye!
ty red for that insight! lol bye
I knew a Wiccan once *adds to the religious tally*
OK dropping back in, its warm today but the news guy just said there was going to be a possibility of snow. Moving to thaiti now. good lord. SNow in Florida.
i know a few wiccans -- even did a wiccan Conscientious Objector application
red that is proof it is the end of the world
*Comes in late to the chog. The end of the world? But I haven't finished the grid yet.
Oh, is that what we're doing now? There are both Mormon and Wiccan babblers, I believe. But the real question is whether we have any Shaker Babblers. OR AMish.
Amish don't use computers surely
Well, that's why it would be quite a coup if we had one.
None of us are that into housework surely.
think what we could accomplish if we didn't sit on babble all day :) but then we all wouldn't have met such wonderful people. (and hello)
Though I live in a sort-of Amish type house (oak frame traditional construction).
hard to have amish since most of the amish reject electricity unless they can generate it themselves
hi mom and sally
Hi Jmcnrick
I think I accomplish a lot thankyouverymuch!
But how do you know we aren't all whizzing around on bikes with a generator attached.
*mutters* Sheesh, you people have no imagination. Where's the fun of having Amish Babblers if it were easy?
i would probably sleep more if i didn't babble
eyes
hi erin!
I try to accomplish things but .....
oops sorry
"Sup?
wele
OOPS
oh Kaplan, please give us one we can use. :)
It's catching
thanks Erin, I didn't have that one
hi kap
*sprays the chog with antibiotics*
sorry about that.
I would be very impressed if there were a shaker babbler since i think there are only 2 or three of them left
that's what we all have dogs for!
I don't have time to get into this today, which is a good sign, it means I am working more
be thankful Kaplan, it is not an easy one (at least not for me)
Work!
Erin are you new? I don't think I know you.
in Central Kentucky we have a place called Shakertown. It is pretty cool
I know, that's why I'm ambitious to fill out our religious diversity. Someone bring a laptop to Sabbathday Lake and proseletyze that Good News of Babble!
Yeah, who are you? Are you one of my recruits from wordsplay?
teys
leys
OUCH- shoot me!
Perhaps we could have a new religion called Babble-ism.
Noooo, Kaplan!
bingo, score another one for Kaplan
Bang, Kaplan!
AAAUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!!! Sorry!
I am sorry Kap you are on your own my board would frown on my shooting you!
Mom, forgive me!
*wipes blood off carpet
oh no, I needed two of the three you put in here
I am thankful
*puts on rubber gloves*
Glad to be of service in my humility
No wonder it's so cold in Britain .. The Gulf Stream is vacationing in Greenland ..
Hi TOr
bloody gulf stream!
lol did it get the vacation from frequent flyer miles?
Just saw a satellite picture of Britain ..It's all white ..
it does that every now and again. we let it have a few days off
several babblers are snowed-in in England
We'd noticed, torgone!
we have had several inches today
I just turned down going to City Hall to get the H1N1 vaccine- put it off a week- now I'm gonna get it
hi jmcnrick - yes, im new
Sally, whereabout in UK are you?
welcome to the grid erin!
Welcome, Erinmillerx
Welcome to Babble, Erin. Where in the world are yoiu?
Welcome Erin
THx all
I'm in Shropshire, Erin. Do you know it? Most people in the UK have never heard of it, but I'm near Ludlow.
I'm in Idaho (originally from UK, tho and yes, I've heard of Shropshire).
I <3 Ludlow
Ive never visited it tho.
:-)
I was from Kent.
whereabouts Erin?
Sally where you live was the last name of my middle school principal. :)
Ludlow is great.
Now in Boise ID.
Home of the
Boise Mustangs
Whereabouts in Kent? West Kent. Between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks and T.Wells
Sally, one of my fav places growing up was Cardingmill Valley
Boise Broncos!
ahhh :) I'm near Canterbury
Oh, I thought you were going to say the cabana boise, BR.
I used to live in Canterbury - went to uni there.
I flew into Boise once *random*
you say broncos I say mustangs
that is right, the Broncos ... sorry
Did you live near here then Ata?
lol where are the cabana boys today?
Before I moved here, I'd never heard of Boise.
Lol
at Uni Canterbury?
My granparents lived in Lilleshall, and I lived with them on and off during childhood
It was Christ Church College.
The capital of Idaho
It might have changed it;s name since then
I flew into Boise and it scared the crap out of me cos it was the first time I'd seen tonnes of military planes lined up on a civilian airfield
it's still CCC
I had assumed with your name, Ata, that you had been left on a mountain top :-)
Oh. Been a long time I graduated in '99
welcome to the U.S. ata
only the wrekin on occasion!
Military planes? I guess there are a few around there
lol Ata. Did you go up the Long Mynd?
hello all 12 left to find
i was on th long mynd the day before the big fire
I assumed ata was a car enthusiast
cars? I know *nothing* about cars!
Atalante, do you still have to pay to walk through the cathedral grounds there?
101
Hello, peri
Hi Peri
yes! gah! though I have a local pass so I can get in free
Peri, how is your cat?
Yeah, I had one of those - when I started it was free for all though.
your name is a 1930s bugantti
newd
hi peri
sley
that is nude kap
OOOOUUUUUCCCHHH!
she is ok, MOm, taking some of her meds, thanks for asking
I didn't even realize I was in the chog!
ew. cars. though bugattis are quite cool
peri! what's wrong with the baby?
my kitty will be 14 next month
It's been a long day- the OUCH was for the electric shock therapy
I am glad she is taking her meds some of the time
she is peeing outside the box again and will not take her pills :(
awww :(
neat the courts just threw out Washington states ban against felons voting!
I finally cut the pills in quarters and it seems like she is eating more of the food with the meds in it.
My old cat poops everywhere- and both of the old cats pee everywhere- what to do?
bugattis are more than cool ata!
she used to always take the pissl when I put them in sarddines but not now :(
my cat poops in the basement at random places but it is concrete so I just clean it up
there was a bugatti club a few miles the road from where I grew up, they have national hill climbs there
*pills* :)
*sardines*
it saves me a fortune in litter though
i like the word pissl
there is another cat here and each seems to think that the othesr food and water is more appealing
my cat takes a little pissl
yes me too
Mine poops in the basement too- they are over 16 years old- is there something to do about this? I am not really that knowledgeable about geriatric cats
sounds Austrian jmc
LOL , literally. I like pissl too even tho it was a typo
Incontinence in the geriatric is not just confined to cats.
very true, Sally
my cat never used the litter box even when she was one!
I know, but I can't put Depends on cats
Or can I. Are there Depends for cats?
My pet rock has great bladder control.
:O)
there are nappies for dogs
alright kap you are making lol for real and my staff is starting to stare again
I know there are diapers for dogs ehn they are in heat, maybe something availabe for older cats
*remind self to get a pet rock next time*
Just don't be incontinent, jm
I have managed not to pee myself ty kap!
but peet rocsk are not warm and fuzzy,
Oh, god, I cannot not type, better stick to finding words
Tell youe staff you are hearing voices and can't help yourself
you could stick a chia rock in the mircowave peri
but peet rocsk are not warm and fuzzy,
but they don't get you up at 6 a.m. either Peri
they know better kap -- they know about Babble
how did that happen
how did that happen true Mom
how did that happen
not chatting anymore for now
Peri, how did what happen?
okay peri no more alcohol for you!
the doubled posts separated by other chat
well I did have a MImose with my lunch which I never do
It is the babble gremlins
Mimosa
Peri deja vu
Is snowfall a frequent visitor to Kentucky throughout the winter, Mom?
yes BR, quite often
Good grief - I looked up nappies for dogs (which a friend need for her aged poodle) there is every sort - including a nappy for a rabbit, who's hind legs are on a pair of wheels!
we have had 7 inches so far before this snow fall.
goodness!
another great picture of Hobbit, Ata
I think some people can't let go

sounds familiar
anyone have the tm6 or ti7?
am so fed up with listening to crappy weather forecasts and dont need to know that there will still be snow outside in the morning.
tm7 tm & the letter s
tm plus te spelling out of two letters repeated. sorry thats a difficult clue.
ti 7 is how you might describe a man without a certain item of apparel.
tm6 really!
Have no idea how to clue the tm
just come down here, we ain't get much snow!
I am still in shock that they are forecasting snow for Orlando.
thx for the tm, got it
we've already gotten a few inches here in michigan
Well, that is amazing, glad you did.
not looking forward to driving to work tomorrow morning
What part of Michigan, omar?
well, if any shows up i can't imagineit would stick.
detroit metro
Michigan has been getting a steady diet of snow
omar, didn't you already have some on the ground?
yeah, i need to go out in it soon too
Hope you escape the snow, H
yeah we had a small amount
not even half an inch
I hope it does not snow, but if it does, I hope everyone stays off the roads.
No one knows how to drive even in rain. mcuh less snow!
i'm quite new here. how do you know that there's a word starting with tm? Or how long it is?
BR how are you holding up in your outpost?
Erin - see the link to Lickety below
Erinmillerx, if you scroll down under the pzzle there is a link to licketys babble clues, it has hints, the first two letters of each word.
I am doing fairly well, thank you.
hammock holding up in the snow? and cold?
alright i gotta get going, wish me luck out in the blizzard
Good luck.
Good luck!
good luck Omaram - bye
Oh, ok - I see it. THanks red and lynx
Yes, I get my hammocks from the world renowned Omar's Tent and Awning
and welcome Erin!
Erin - look at the Bulk Add instructions on the bottom of it - very handy. You can also email Lickety for a copy of Expert which you will like. Free. His email is on his clue list
I still want to get a hammock, but they are rsather expensive since i dont have trees.
Wow, this is a pretty cool tool.
Thanks guys
ye 4,10 just dont see it..
You will love Expert then
ye4.10 plural, type of tree
Erin, if you want your flag to show, go to your account, put a check in the Show Profile box, and click on Update Profile at the bottom.
I have 42 left. Maybe I come back later.
Be well, Kaplan
Ahh, I recall those long ago days when I was new here...
I don't LOL
byeeee kaplan!
i have 54 left, headed to list dont like grid!
but it was a very long time ago
when you were young and foolish
yep!
Bye everyone...off to enjoy a pleasant 34(93) degree day, still lovely and cool so far
ooh lynxx i want the temp...
me too!
thx lyn just found it, took me long enough lol
Fireworks! Must dash off. Found this a bit of a struggle in the end. Any clues needed?
it is not an easy grid for sure, or at least not for me...
Poof! then. See you all tomorrow.
oh no, dw words...
don't dw... too long on them red
ha ha Joanne, they were much more direct than I expected!
thanks.
lol yvw
do8??
don't have the 7 prior to it either
a plural of a do 7. sort of an odd word: A point or Do* plus the first part of a rose growing thing, usually on the side of a home.
that may or may not help!
A very good clue, red, for a couple of nasty words. I've got 52 left and my brain is hurting so I'll come back later. I've been lurking, as usual. Is anyone getting a snow storm this afternoon except for Lynxx who is basking in 93 degree heat down under. We've gotten about 8 inches of snow in Chicago area.
thank you babbz, but it only works if you had one of those climibing roses and a thing on the side of the house growing up!
8 inches!
We are predicted to have snow in Florida on Sat am, but I think it will be short lived.
True Dat, true dat. But anyone with a garden will know what that is.
joanne?
hi everyone
Oh I heard about that, red. My daughter lives in Miami and went to the Orange Bowl the other night
sorry brb phone
hi oodle
se 8???
Babbz I bet shes been complaining of the chill..
She said the folks from Iowa were there in tee shirts, and the folks from Miami had their down jackets on. It was about 40 degrees. Brrr even for Florida.
today was a lot better babbz. about 57 was our high.
I am taking a se***** of school kari
the SE 8 is your female sibling spelled wrong, plus your aunt in Spanish.
She is - she manages an aquatics program for the ymca and they have to cancel all the classes and swim events when it gets cold like this - it's an outdoor pool
oops two more stars
They dot heat it I guess.
thx oodle
We have an outdoor pool, but they heat ti to a chilly 75.
yw bo
Babbz, that is an awesome job. I am a bit jealous.
and I have 232 more words to go whoooohooooooo
probably about the same - I think when it gets below 65 degrees they cancel programs
Hi everyone
She loves it - she teaches infants rescue swimming, too - which is pretty neat. 6 months old to 2 years old.
I would love to work with healthy people!
Hi sea.
hi sea & babbz
We've all still been trying to swim through the cold snap, the dash to the locker gives everyone something to talk about...Ha ha.
hey there bo and seaspray
anyone have the LE 4,6??
well from her stories, maybe they are not all as healthy as you'd like. I think there are always a few off-balanced types at ymcas
but all in all, a good place for her right now.
a hen l*** eggs, change the vowel
I suppose that is true.
it is like a hawaiian le** but plural
Thanks Sea!
Gotta go figure out something for dinner....a reason for my brain hurting, lol! I'll be back later, and thanks for the chat!
thx sea
Bye babbz.
yw

30 left- but I quit at dinner time
but we are so sick of him over here!! he stomps on in, starts going through my mail, then goes out to the garage to try to fix something I TOLD him to leave alone, and when I pointed out that I was going to get it fixed he actually said "oh, and who is gonna pay for that, YOU?" All right in front of the kids, too!
send him to papua new guinea
and THEN he through in a couple of rounds of "this is still my house you know" just in case I wasn't ruffled up enough already. The disrespect is just disgusting.

what's the se9
the se 9, stealing someone elses clue: is your female sibling misspelled and add to that a spanish aunt.
looking for re7/28 - already had the ones she clued
its a plural of one of the ones she clued.
is there more than one??

google maps requies addy. need city to city
Oodle, they aren't dead!
they are reptiles. paralyzed by cold, but not killed.
Sorry TO no idea then
well
oh dang se9 shoot
OODLe the iguanas are not zombies mearly being reptiles
figure of speech
No it doesnt require an address.
Google maps, not driving directions.
it's different.
ok ty
gee i say one thing wrong and I get jumped on
I just used it to plan a trip from here to St Augustine. It gives mileage and general time.
Sorry oodle, I did not mean to harm your sensibilities.
Red thank you for the se 9 clue
needs some sort of key/download?
Oodle though you have given me a gigle for this morning. The mental image of zombie iguanas is a good one.
didn't say they were zombies I was USING IT AS A FIGURE OF SPEECH
chill, oods.
'come back to life meaning coming back to animation
any clues for do 8?
I am already cold tyvm
Oodle do you need a hug?
lol yep bet you are
do8 has two pairs of double letters
well it is make or break time - if i don't go now i will not have any dinner. hate eating alone all the time
sorry, it doesn't, ignore that one
TO you are eating dinner with us
byee to
i am? what am i having?
sorry kari don't have the DO8 lol
how about this way: for do8, insert an R into a do7
works if you have do7
hello all! how's today's grid?
that do7 rhymes with 99 *** of beer
it sucks Stid
hmm, i'll have to keep workin' on it. still have one more do 7. with my luck that is the one referenced
Hi stid, I think it stinks.
dottlers
bummer. I started just before your post came through lady! LOL
oops. wrong bar!!!
Too late Stid you have been sucked in
sorry fellow babblers!
I am sorry too Kari... it didn't work!
THat is ok Kari
herin, I think we accidently chased Oodle away. Oops.
the one that rhymes with 99 *** of beer has an alternate spelling too, check that as a starting point
yep got those
okay, then for the do8 you insert an R into one of the do7s you get from that
and i've got the one that means spottier
OODLE you get back here
OODLE I meant no offense
got it eurika!!!
*whispers to oodles* (choclit)
ty grem

I am having a persistent cough kje, I can not seem to get rid of it, but I think I'll try to add a humidifier to the area...still a wee bit sick.
Right I driffed off again. I am going to go and hang washing out and wake up
2 thoughts -
1st - many viruses can cause a cough that persists for weeks after you otherwise feel fine
and wait to hear wether my friend has had her baby yet.
2nd - make sure you are not on a medicine that can cause it
wow, she still hasn't had it yet, herin?!?
yes, I think thats it. because I'm not on any meds, my problem is I cant sleep because of the cough...I am ok if I sit up...
I am going to take a tessalon.
kje - your icon looks delicious!!
thanks bo
red - ask your MD for codeine if the tessalon isn't working - only clinically proven cough suppressant - skip the rest of the crap and take codeine 30mg PO qHS at least so you can sleep
Ohhhh no, Codeine makes me projectile vomit. I'll cough first. tessalon I think makes me sleepy.
How are you KJE?
doing fine red... better than you anyhow ; )
Ha.
Nope KJE not yet. Once again this is what happens when one thinks that babies just fall out
Well, kje I am very proud. I managed to walk dog, and clean the kitchen and part of the bathroom today. I liek house guests, btu not prepping.

down to 25.... think I can go all the way?
right back in 20

hello ruru! hello LBD hallo.... everyone!

STIDDY!! how's the tum? how was practicum?
tummy is good. (and very full) practicum was FUN!!!!
actually, I thought I was supposed to be there at 7 this morning, so showed up a couple minutes before that... but wasn't supposed to be there until 7:30! LOL next week I will sleep in an extra hour or so.
hi stid!
I always aim for a half hour early on my first day anywhere until I know how traffic really flows.
hey feather!
a little anxious, stid? lol
anyway, will be there every thursday for the rest of the year, and really looking forward to it. I am worried, though, about the actual reading for this quarter. There seems to be an awful lot of it.
yes, I was very nervous! LOL but it was good. today was "just observing '
you'll do fine with the practicum and all the reading.
so I got to sit quietly in a corner all day long. 5 8th grade language arts lessons... fascinating to watch her adjust the same material from class to class.
how long has she been teaching?
[tuning in to chat on language arts lesson] hi stid!
several years. she is not as old as me (but close) but this is her second career.
hi jbv
hey JBV! ((hugs))
hi lbd!
looks like we scared off feather with our school talk!
what did she do before?
i
what are they reading?
I can't remember. It was something with literacy, but not as a certificated teacher I am pretty sure.
back.. sorry ... what did I miss?
everyone was reading something different in the class today, (silent sustained readings of choice)
I read John Dewey for the first time this week, though. It was interesting. And not nearly as hard to get through as everyone had said it would be.
oh, no, i'm just being distracted by shiny things on other pages
ooooh shiny things! *bounce bounce*
silent sustained reading...wow, i'd love that class!
John Dewey's genius was simple common sense - but it is still a rare commodity in education - and I am not part of the Dewey cult of disciples
actually I have to finish reading a really cool book by Elizabeth Cohen. "Designing GRoupwork" it's REALLY awesome.,
LMAO, specifically, about the color status thing on facebook, and how it's been figured out, which makes your bounce bounce especially funny!
color status? what is going on with facebook -- back in school mode I dare not go there!
it's a secwet! mostly to torture guys. not sure if i can let the cat out of the bag yet or not!
yes, that was what struck me about Dewey -- the basic honesty of his approach. I love the "pragmatism" in his philosophy. "If it doesn't work, it's not a good idea" sort of thing.
hoping that "pink" equates with "bounce bounce" then!
I find the methodology workshops WAY more interesting than strict philosophy or history!
do5/16 please
yes, methods are at least applicable. theory is just thoughts that may or may not work
do + "wanting word" or japanese money unit
do + japanese money
you probably have a message about it from fran in your inbox. i don't recall much of dewey specifically. man, it's been a while.
thanx
one of the things in this book that he said (over and over) was that teachers who really want to help students can't simply plan a lesson and then stand back and watch it come to life. They need to stay involved -- and in planning the lesson they need to take into account the student's prior experience as well as how that learning will be used and maintained in the future. HEAVY stuff. But important.
boy that's true of any learning experience!
yup
that's the hardest thing to learn, stid, it comes with experience, but some people have a gift - i mean the ability to go with the dynamic nature of the classroom, adapt to changing conditions, react to things on the spot, etc.
really, it's a people skill- being able to "read" students
My question is, obviously we go into teaching because we DO care about children, and about their futures. AT what point do we then step back and not get too emotionally involved? The students who won't try for whatever reason, and the students who get into trouble.
I say this on the basis of about 20 years of supervising teachers and seeing lots of the good, the bad and somewhat ugly
that's a good point JBV.
the latest push in our schools has been poverty and learning, and how there are hidden "rules" to middle class, which most teachers are, and poverty, which a lot of students can be, and how there are different expectations and rules for each
yes, we are talking about those "cultural encapsulation" things in our program right now feather!
i don't think you do step back stid. there's always an involvement with trying to reach those kids.
an example of how methodology emerges from theory - that comes from ethnography of literacy
the better teachers are the ones who ARE involved
I hope that I will be able to be flexible in the classroom -- I know I can do it with single students, but 145 like my practicum teacher? yikes!
you try to let the kids know you care, but you also have to try not to take them home with you, stid. It's a hard line to draw.
and the kids know how to tell who cares
well not all 145 at once!
after years of hearing how teachers have to be careful to not hug or touch or... today I was very pleased to see this teacher high-five many, hug a few, and say "I love you" to a couple as well. They responded really well to that.
ah, here is the "frozen iguana" story on the ne4. apparently they are dropping out of the trees in florida!
she obviously knows her kids well. you'll learn to be able to read them, as well as what their family situations are from parent teacher conferences.
I am glad I am in the Pac NW where it is "balmy" at around 43 F right now.
oh geeze, i got at the minimum 3 hugs today. of course, kindergarten may be different. i never (well, rarely....depends on the kid) but often recieve!
was meant to be i never initiate. oops.
43!! i'm at minus2!
yes, the younger kids are spontaneous huggers! the older ones a little more reticent (though one kid I tutored last year gave me a HUGE hug when I gave him a book for summer reading)
well come visit, LBD! Lucky would be pleased to share his sheepskin bed!
awwww
i'd love to share lucky's bed!
oh! wonderful! I '
I'll have Lucky make sure he puts his extra to 4 away so there's room! LOL
8th graders...not quite secure in who they are yet, but starting to get the feeling that teachers aren't cool.
heading off to bed, nice chatting!
also hormonal adjustments...gawd, i loved junior high kids. they were so much fun to watch...and laugh at!
feather, it was lovely to see you! kisses to the boys, and hugs to you!
bye feather
night night, feather! sweet dreams
yes, they are very insecure (and quite awkward even when they are). Rather like watching lambs or colts try to figure out where their feet are relative to the shoulder
yup, awkward! definitely describes that age group.
well.... *sigh* I have 56 words to find, but a short paper to write when I am done reading this Cohen book. ((((((Hugs everyone)))))) thanks for the chatter and the support!
I'll be back as soon as my "work" is done. *poof*
nightnight, stiddy.
bye stid

the first one?
Not a fan of Nicolas Cage, but it was slim pickings for celebrity b-days. Haven't done celeb b-days in awhile

it took me several weeks to finish my first grid
i am extending adu a welcome to help cement that addition like a good little drug dealer!
Everybody's doing it...
The first one's free, kid ..
lololol
we are sorta like zombies gathering around fresh meat
*giggle*
Technically it's not me, it's my wife... but I keep hijacking her session... so maybe it is me...
hmmm some couples have had to set up two accounts
in fact Mrs. Crossy finally went all the way today after lurking behind Crossy for some time
My kids are playing Resident Evil 5 while I'm doing this .. Their yelling at each other is hilarious ..
Lucky 13 ..
okay, now it's me - the REAL adubin, read my husband's comment. Yeah - maybe 2 accts r in our future, but for now it's a team sport

I couldn't deal with someone grabbing my laptop
i had a hard enough time when wht was looking over my shoulder at a meeting where i was shamelessly babbling and he would find words
I wouldn't mind someone grabbing my laptop ..
torg are you sure you mean laptop?
Anywhere in that general area ..
aha! thought so!
What is the rating on this chatter?
we try to keep it around pg13 or so
3 ..
just making sure after those laptop comments...
moderate sexual innuendo, mild profanity, and limited violence
go torg go

It's a comparative ..

Now tha I am an empty ne6/18 I have all the time in the world to re4/4 and listen to the radio like it is an oa5/10/ It makes me as playful as an ot5/10 and the world is my oy6/24. But instead I act do7/23 than Kathryn Hepburn in Bringing Up Baby and dw5/20 what my life would have been with the ti5/10 of Judge.
