ever evolving language
it says "more than 4,000 new words" included in the 100,000+, that's a pretty hefty percentage
that's a lot of evolving!
but still no "internet" - get on it, dictionary people!
you tell 'em, gremlinn!
btw. I've posted a list at the end of my profile of words in morewords not accepted here, and another of words accepted here NOT in morewords.

gremlin, it was pointed out to me a while ago that it's Internet, a proper noun.
happy babbling y'all! * poof *
pini, I've been collecting them for ages, and welcome any additions

gd morning everybody
hi ruby :)
morning ruby
hi jilli
any more clues needed?
loads...but you should go to bed..lol
well, I should. Several people found this grid pretty easy, but I didn't. i guess if you have a good babblet collection in helps.
*it helps
me, too, but I just started and it wouldn't be fair to keep you up with dumb questions!
does anyone have a babblet collection...?
figuratively speaking
what is a babblet collection?
yeah..but im just wondering if it wouldnt be a good idea...to start a page somewhere where ppl can contribute
babblets are rare words which often show up here and hardly anywhere else -- or in US crosswords
just jotting down odd words as they appear is helpful, I guess
and geegee, if you didn't already know, there's always a hiccup at this time
what's funny here is that many food words aren't accept while many are, I don't get the pattern.....
hiccup=time when you can't enter words or chat for a minute or so
there's no pattern to enable, ruby. E.g. some French words are ok, others aren't -- no rhyme or reason.
okay, thank you. Going to bed now. gnite grammagum
that just happened to me, jilli, lol
I'll hold my breath next time
nite gee gee
btw, I've posted a list at the end of my profile of words ok in morewords which are not accepted here, and another of words NOT in morewords which are ok here. Lots of babblets!
I saw that and you sound like a very interesting person. gnite
And now I AM going to bed! Happy babbling, all, and -- *poof* (thanks, geegee)

71 easy words or 71 tricksy words?
Hello, Ata, it's debatable. (I've just started).
hi haz! la glitteratinella!
well, we will see
Salut!
It looks promising, but these things can be deceptive.
and usually are
We sound very wise and a trifle world-weary, don't we?
Morning Ladies
Good morning, FM. How are you?
tricksy words I suspect. Fine thanks although there is while stuff falling from the sky again *le sigh*
hi FM!
I saw the weather forecast and thought of you. It's not forecast to stay around for very long. Hold off the crampons for the wellies.
more snow than sleet but as it is +5 it won't settle she said optimistically.
*crosses fingers*
Just signed up to the RSPB Brid Watch at the end of the month.
Morning all - long time no see!
I've got a friend called Brid. I must warn her.
is that the Royal Society for the Pretection of Brids?
Good morning, spellit! How are you?
Hello spellit!
Very well thanks Hazel
hi spellit
lol sorry but you knowwhat I mean :)
Hi everyone!
That's good to hear. What news for us? How's young Millie?
Millie is wonderful of course and will be 4 years old on March 5th. Now a very assured little lady!
Goodness! She's growing up fast - school in September, I suppose?
4 years old already, how time flies!
Yes and it's only 200 yards away from their house. I am still with my friend Jane. Did I tell you about that?
We knew there was a romance. Any news?
No, do tell!
Millie still remembers Wendy even though she was only 2 when she passed away
That's lovely, spellit, I hope she retains the memory.
We exchanged emails for 3 months with no intention of meeting as neither were looking for romance. But after we got to one email a day we thought we should meet. The rest is history!
Oh how great is that, and how long have you been together now?
On a scale of 1 to 10, how nervous were you meeting Jane for the first time?
Nearly 18 months now. Jane's family were very welcoming, but naturally it has taken time for my four children. All OK now so we will move on this year
Get the big hat ready, FM!
It was very scary! We both promised that if we didn't hit it off, we would still remain email friends
Well, I'm very glad that it has worked out so well and that life can be good again for both of you.
Happy for you spellit. lol Haz - having just put the hat boxes up in the loft, am I going to have to get them down again?
Yes, at least you know where they are, that's half the battle, FM.
do you think husband would approve of me having to go out and buy an expensive new hat? :)
You can always hire, Ata.
I doubt it Ata
You could always borrow one of mine, I have several that have been paraded at Ladies Day at Ascot :)
Or you could write to the Queen and beg.
a second-hand hat?! *gasp*
Not second-hand. Previously loved.
Quelle horeur!
Do I have any say in these wedding preparations?!
No spellit *grin*
nope
None, spellit, just do as you're bid and all will be well.
not now Haz is in charge
LOL!
OK then - just let me know the date
I'm getting lists ready. First a list of the lists.
June the 14th
That's absolutely the right attitude, spellit. Submission to the inevitable.
A Monday wedding?
Jane is laughing!
Not so good from the point of view of the florists, but you'll probably get a hotel easily enough.
It's a Monday? darn that won't work.
*waves at Jane*
Jane also says I haven't asked her yet!
Maybe slightly later in the month, not too close to Wimbldeon, though.
well you'd bet get on with it!
Well, what's stopping you?
So what are you waiting for then .... our first babble propsal *holds breath*
(Is this a first? A babble proposal? Try to stay calm, ladies)
don't forget Eva!
(Waiting to see how FM's typing fares in all of this)
lol HAz, grat minds and all that.
Yes, but EvaN didn't get proposed to live on air, so to speak.
*still holding breath*
still a babble wedding though!
How about Friday 18th June? It has a nice ring to it.
it can double as my bday party
*turning blue*
Worried that FM will faint if she doesn't breathe soon...
Spellit's gone awfully quiet. Do you suppose there's canoodling happening?
someone resus FM quick.
No - Jane has gone to serve in her Post Office - saved by the bell!
Hello, mcadam!
*gasp* had to breathe Hi macadam
Have these Post Office people no consideration? Has Jane not heard of a closed sign?
Morning all.Sounds like happy news to start the day.
*puts hats back in the loft and wipes away a tear*
We're agog, mcadam. Spellit doesn't appear for ages and then springs all sorts of happiness on us.
Are you feeling better now FM.Deep breath in and out aaaaah.
And how are you? You've been quiet as well or have I just not been around at the right times?
Thanks macadam am better now :)
Good things happen on Babble.
Oh that would be a good strap line if Dr_G wanted to advertise.
You'd have to add 'good things happen, but not to everyone and not guaranteed', because people would complain otherwise.
I have to go now as I am supposed to be helping in the PO. I will keep you up to date...
loooool
They'd finish a dull chat session and file for a refund.
and only if you're nice to Haz and FM
We're depending on it, spellit!
Bye for now!
Spellit's always nice to us.
Bye, spellit and say bye to Jane for us.
Jane says Bye too!
Byee spellit!
I`m around most days ,popping in and out.Hubby is now retired and still not adjusted to the novelty of no set times for anything.
And have you adjusted to having hubby round all the time?
Bye spellit .Thankyou for the happy news .
phone brb
I`m sorry to say I`m married to someone who wants to go shopping at lunchtime or just after schools finish for the day.He can`t understand why the shops are so busy.He also has to go to the bank at lunchtime .I hope the light comes on in his head soon.
Mornings are useful?
Maybe it's taking him time to wind down, but he'll get to realising that there are better times than others for doing things. Mind you, things have changed for the better as far as the banks are concerned. Remember when they only opened for two hours, three days a week? (Okay, exaggerating, but you know what I mean)
they still do here lol
My bank opens on a Saturday morning. *smug*
AND stays open until 4 most days.
ooooooooo
The good thing is he`s great company and still fun to be with. Not bad after 43 years married.
Frankly, we're so advanced, it's amazing. One shop has escalators.
That's good going, macadam, if you can still laugh together, it's great.
my goodness!
We had lessons in how to use it. Farmers came from miles around to see it.
was it front page news?
did Liam Neeson open it?
Of course.
No, I think Liam was otherwise engaged, unfortunately.
what's the point of having a film star from your homw town if he won't open escalators!
That's a good question, Ata. Next time I bump into him, I'll ask him. 'What else was more important than opening the escalator in Cameron's?'
But if he says 'Filming Schindler's List.' what do I say? Valid excuse or not?
hmmmm. I'm sure he could have flown over and back again
Maybe his fee was too high and the shop couldn't afford him AND balloons.
he should have done it out of the goodness of his heart, giving back to his town
Yes, but he's a Ballymena man. They have a reputation for being a bit tightfisted.
Of course,we've not thought of the possibility that Liam might not like escalators.
he might be escalatorphobia
*phobic
He might be an old-fashioned kind of man who wants Ballymena to stay as it was with stairs to climb and those whizzy cash things flying round on overhead cables.
whizzy cash things??!!
I'll not be able to remember the proper name for it.
Basically, a system where the customer's money is put into a canister, it's whizzed on an overhead cable to a cashier's office, she puts in the change and sends it back.
There was a shop with that system up until just a few years ago.
oooo! they still do that in America!
It's great fun to watch!
It wasike that in NY when I was a kid. BTW, gd morning
I don't think it would work with plastic cards, that's the only thing.
Hello, ruby!
hello haz. How cold is it there?
We have a shoe shop where they have a variation on the system, it's kind of a closed vacuum system.
It's not too bad, it seems to be colder in England, or at least in FM's part of the country.
only have a few minutes now as it's almost apero time; that's what you do with a retired husband, ply him with alcohol
It's very dull and rainy.
We had the same device in co-ops all around Yorkshire years ago.Great fun to watch and amazingly speedy in use.
So, ply him with alcohol and keep him sedated?
here it's very sunny but in the 20's
What's the proper name for it, macadam?
I can't imagine someone going to the patent office to register 'A whizzy cash thing'
has a nice ring to it!
I can`t remember,and neither can hubby.Sorry about that.
PHone..
it was a pneumonic tube of some sort
pneumatic?
back again
hello fm
Hi ruby
And back again.
Cash railways apparently.
Heading out to the shops soon, have cooked up a storm these last few days, freezer is nearly full again but want to make some veggie soup.
Maybe you'll get the catering contract for Spelit's wedding, FM.
Glad to say it is now only raining. LOL Haz, can I employ you for the desserts please?
No problem.
excellent!
I hope they like things with cream. Non-dairy people will have to make do with fruit salad.
Okay, so that's the date settled, the catering organised, Ata can take the photographs. A good morning's work, I'd say.
*grin*
None of this hanging about, shilly-shallying gets nothing done.
and all of this before 10.30!
So what is next on the agenda?
I know!
Probably a venue.
perhaps we can sort out Enable?
Oh, I thought you meant on the wedding agenda - enable's a lost cause.
I think we should let Jane sort out the venue but only with our clearance
Yes, a venue and then I suppose at some stage we'll have to involve the bride and groom, but we'll keep them out of it for as long as possible.
as long as they turn up
LOL!
Oh, they'll turn up. We'll get Anniebrook on survelillance.
surveillance, even.
We'll let Jane choose the dress, provided she passes the taste test.
She'll be shown pictures of Lady's Day at Ascot and provided she shows due horror at the horrors, we'll let her have a say in the dress.
Okay, time for me to head off and get some work done around here. Enjoy the grid, it's mostly friendly. Bye for now!
bye dear!
Bye HAz, sorry my PC had to shut down and reboot :)
Bye HAz, sorry my PC had to shut down and reboot :)
Time for me to head out too I guess, lots to do today - can someone kick my ass into gear please.
*kick* :)
thanks Ata :) TTFN
hello
Hi herin. Just came and wondered where everybody was :-)
I had to just go here for a bit
morning Babblers
Hi bojazz
I had to go here before i said something bad to a friend
you can say it to me - get it off your chest
A Babble friend, herin?
can anyone help me with the un word?
Not long started, pinny. Didn't even know it was an un word :-)
sorry :(
Don't be :-)
How many letters?
hello everyone
6
it's my last word
Thinking.
hi Annie
morning, bojazz
Hi Ann
un -- start of college + where peas hang out in the garden
hi herin
TY BR, and hallo!
ooh - thanks babblerabble! now i can get on with my day
thanks, BR and hi
thx BR
Hello
congrats, Pinny
thanks annie
see y'all tomorrow
congrats Pinny
poo this hapens to be a short grid
but tricky
dain
oops
no da
ya since my brain doesn't want to work and I am in a grump
why a grump?
Because my friend got into his Law and Commerce uni course and I have to slog it out the hard way as i don't have the right qualifications to get into Uni as i never completed high school.
herin, that's easy...finish high school and then apply wherever you want. It will take a year or two and then you are done. If you dont do then in a year or two you are in the same situation you are in now. Like the Nike ad says, Do it!
not just that cash
do you need money to finish High School?
No I need a lot for Uni.
and all in all it really pisses me of. i don't have my parents to old my hand and he said he was going to aim for a 60% pass rate
Yes, Unis are very expensive.
sorry I had to get a disprin
I am sorry that you are upset.
that is ok hun thank you for your concern.
it'll always possible to get scholarships / bursaries
I also got pudding
Pudding is a lovely comfort food.
herin, you can do it, you have come so far already!
every uni department will have secret funds. You need to ask them
Hi Annie and Ata too
they'll never advertise them
Annie it would be if it wasn't weight watchers
Hi Ata and FM too
Hi FM and Ata!
Ata, is it a blizzard here now and is settling:(
oh nooooooo
Ata A lot of universities here operate on $$$. I am going back to classes soon. I just hope I don't get a cold which i feel brewing.
Just stopped snowing here, FM. At least it isn't freezing, and my livelihood isn't dependent on the weather :-)
universities everywhere operate on $$$!
*le sigh*
Yup
I think i know what i meant.
I thought England stopped being a winter tundra
vry good point Sally, I can work what ever the weather so will stop moaning.
Had postponed trip to see son and grandson in London from last Friday to this Friday, so fingers crossed.
No, I wasn't saying you were moaning. It's just that I had realised today that some people really have no income in this weather.
Husband had sent me some flowers, which they could not pick in the snow.
but herin, for example, the department I worked in had funds to pay for 2 PhD students and 1 undergraduate each year. Never advertised. You either had to know or had to ask
I know, was just giving myself a good reminder that really there is nothing to moan about :)
And now I have my go-faster boots :-)
awe how nice of Sallys Hubby!
Yeah, he's a sweety. He's had a bad health year which has put a lot on me, so I think it was just a bit of luvvin.
*grin* this is where we cam e in yesterday wasn't it and wil ardilla's clasic line too :)
BRB oven is now heated so time to put the gammon in.
that was SO funny
lol, yes FM.
Thank you fror that Ata
you get ex-professors setting up bursaries, all sorts of odd things. it's *always* worth any department about such things
may I ask....what is gammon?
I "so" want to enter doodle into the grid - or doddle.
thank you.
thought gammon was a game???
ham!
Kind of ham
ah, thank you
goes with green eggs?
Two countries divided by a common language :-)
Green eggs??
yes - green eggs & ham
Backgammon is the game, bojazz
dr suess
LOL - i know
thx Ata
figured somebody out there would connect
Ah, ty
got the cu4/9 - it is not listed in dictionary. does that happen often in babble?
yep lol
It is a real word in a dictionary Bo
ok - just not in our cyber dictionary
back, gammon is a cut of ham or pig, roasts well and tastes great.
unfortunately, a lto of dictionaries don't exactly match
tastes more than great :D
I can smell it from here :-)
smells good when it is cooking too :)
cue crossy!
Bo you can find it if you google it
I keep looking out the window and geting mesmerised by the falling snow ...
Snow is pretty.
so pretty!
sooooo pretttyyyyy .....
Wake up, FM!!
oh sorry! thanks Sally :)
but it is so pretty *slap* OK time to get on with the grid.
FM, check my icon
I did some gilding yesterday, for the first time I got a result I liked!
Double take. For a moment I read that as gliding.
Oh now that is interesting!
so does everyone!
what size are they?
only little
A4 sheet
what an inch or bigger?
and babble squished them
Love how they look anyway.
4" high? 5". something
sent you a decent copy on email
will look forward to seeing how they evolve.
I'd been experimenting. I was using a particular synthetic size that's meant to be the best thing ever, adn I could never get it right
then I saw elsewhere that you could just use PVA, so I thought I'd try. And it's so much easier. You don't get the exact smooth surface though. Swings and roundabous I guess
Yep i read that as gliding too
that's what I keep saying on FB lol. GILDING! GILDING!!
Did I bore youalready about how much it costs to join the Guidl of Embroiders? But have found alternative groups under the U3A umbrella.
vast amounts!
Gliding or parachute jumping - closely related but not to guilding!
It is ok.. I just need to readjust my glasses
wonder if there's a guild of gilders
O there is a thought speak to a member of SCA?
Or a guild of gliding gilders?
LOL
SCA is probably right
Just a thought. I have them every now and then
It's always been the cost that has put me off joining the embroiderers' guild.
So I didn't bore anyone then yay - £575 to join the guild. Can you believe!
maybe we'll work it out for your birthday present
Well in my case it's also the fact that I can't sew.
Oh ha ha HAz, as if!
OMG FM what do you get for THAT??
not £575 worth!
I know. £575! Otherwise I'd be there like a shot.
we know how disappointed you are
No idea Deeha, was so flummoxed with the cost, didn't pursue it further!
I am a Lioness our sub is £16.50 a year but to join the Lions it is £72. £72 for the honour of collecting money for charity?? I dont think so!
I take it that's a fee for life? Like babble only with more torture involved?
FM! that's life membership!
err that is a life fee instead of $20 pounds a year
Maybe Dr-G should put price comparisons to show what a bargain babble membership is.
Member and Friend of Embroidery 18+ £36.00 minimum Member and Life Friend of Embroidery 18-59 £575.00 minimum Member and Life Friend of Embroidery 60 and over £375.00 minimum
Oh now that is interesting as we have a Lions shop in the village and I hadn't heard of them nor Lionesses until recently.
So FM could be a Friend, just not for life?
That proves what we all say - the Lions Club is international and the biggest non-govermental fund raiser in the world - yet no one has heard of us!!
I've heard of the Lions, Deeha, but never the Lionesses before.
Fraid not HAz, due to my age I qualify for the high payment band.
she could be an annual member. only worth life membership for 16+ years
I believe Rotary International is the largest fund raiser in the world
Dont know Bojazz but that is what the Lions claim!!!
Charities war!
Hi bo
that's what Rotary claims
hi FM
i've got $5.00 US - anybody want to match that?
Do you watch Harry Hill?? All I can say is FIGHT!!!!!!
diei
Would either Rotary Club or Lions Club take pity on FM and sponsor her membership of Embroiderers' Guild?
Anyway, have found alternative possibilites through U3A so watch this space.
i think i have negative $$$
clue for the u, please?
U3A or USA? You're maybe going to end up calling stitches by strange names and weird spellings.
LOL Deeha
and by the way it is still snowing.
U3A
U - a single pea in it's enclosure
un6 - three letters at the start of a place of learning, three letters for a pea's place of growing.
OH Nooooooo don't tell me that FM-whereabouts are you??
yours is much better Haz
not in Kent :)
ty,haz and bojazz
W Sussex
We both had the same thought, bojazz.
No it is so mild here I have even had a session in the garden this morning - not before time I may add!!
I came down to Sandwich on Monday, Deeha, walked from Sandwich Bay estate up to the mouth of the Stour and back again. gorgeous dog walk
yours was clearer - mine sometimes come soaked in mud
don't worry bojazz, cryptic clues are fun
LOL
sorry clue for the U again I was too busy watching tv and the screen gone
I do miss my dog but not sure I miss it so much at walkie time!!
un plus a personal listening to music device.
Oh, clever one, Haz!
see Haz's clue at 6:36
one day I'll bring Hobbit up to Walmer. She's never been there before
Thank you, Sally.

There are lovely walks across the fields - let me know and I will join you! And make you coffee afterwards!!

THank you. Sorry Being Human is on tv again. mmmm.
Off to work - hope all have a great day (or evening)
I have been up since so early o'clock this morning I must go and have a nap. Hapy Babbling all.
Bye bojazz!
FM's strangely drawn to naps now that she has the bed of wonderment installed. Has anybody else noticed?
sleep well dear!
Later Bo

Bye FM!
Maybe Fm loves the bed.
Right, I must fling the vacuum round the floors. Back later.

bye Mom have a good day
Wow I find that hard to believe
bye bye Luv
i just find it sad that it may take away our selfless-sounding reason for complaining about something that annoys us crotchety old folks.
and there's that too!
I am horrified when I see how 18 and 19 year olds fill out the paperwork at the doctor
where I work. I should add. They can't spell anything right.
well they said that doing things like "l8r" indicates you have an awareness of the actual word and are playing with it. but it seems to me that this would apply at first, but then when everyone's using it, they can be just as stupid as they were in the first place.
ok... missing 2 d's, 2 p's and one S - which one has a 7?
ooh it's the P!!
and i pulled a pe4! lol
is there a pu?

USDA predicts a 10% decline in the cranberry crop this year.
Imagine - tornadoes!! But I'm in Hollywood, far from the hillslides slipping and the monster waves. I'm retired and taking advantage of the fact that I don't need to leave the house. Rain watching is good enough, for me.
What's happening to the cranberries?
Good grief, 44% vowels.
and all misplaced.
It's sunny down here in SD but we're supposed to get rain later ..
if the ed bride word was good, why isn't edda??? Icelandic epic???
hello christine, I'm glad you're safe and just looking at the weather like me
some days I don't go outside at all
Hello, Rubyfoo and Torgone. This weather is too extreme.
every place but here, I think, here it's clement with just an occasional unseemly wind storm
back after din!
Hi Ruby, Hi All
Hi, hego

oops
more than half done and just got nbt. ;-P
I dunno - I have only 40, and I doubt there really are 71 words.

NBT & 13 grayed tiles @ 45 and struggling

Poor Bichon
The grandkid part is fine, they are getting restless.
sounds normal.
Bichon, are you in SoCal?
No, Bay Area. Couldn't get any worse
But then, a few weeks ago I was kvetching about the snow in CT
0ne of my neighbours is truly convinced that this is the end of days - the world is coming to an end.

ei**r down comforter
yw- any more clues needed?
I'm pathetic, have 50 words but with a lot of help!
are you using licketys list?
it helps a lot
that pug is adorable. Is the other dog a King Charles?
ty & no a Japanese Chin
very cute
I don't know those
don't see many outside dog shows
most are black & white there are far fewer red & whites
one of our chows is black, I think rare but for good reasons!
chows are very pretty but lots of coat to groom
yes, full-time job and stinky when it rains
every breed has its draw backs, mine shed like demons year round
I am just smitten by chows' faces and characters! however, I like French bulldogs which are a little like pugs but less pretty
oh Frechies are precious! I agree!
oops frenchies
a lot of them here but virtually no chow chows
there were quite a few chows where I used to live but not here, regional popularity i guess
and, as you saqid, a lot of work
Indeed!
said*
we've had 5 over the years, but this one in the icon is my favorite
used to groom for a living in my youth but I'm all for low maintenance now
my whole life is low-maintenance except for my dogs!!
he/she is lovely
she is my ruby and she owns my heart
this puggy is #6
name?
Chino aka "Fatus Maximus"
our other chow is Mi-Pao's Black Maximus!! lol
Max
never gave him a show name as I got him to love (it's just a nick name because he's a little tub) although he is from very good show stock
we never thought of showing ours, but they came from a very fancy family, unlike me!
our first two were both offspring of int'l champions
Rosie and Rufus
Those are the three red ones
as much as I'm enjoying chatting with you dear(truly) I've been ill & suffering from debilitating fatigue.Must take a nap but will gladly give another clue or 2 first if needed...
very nice talking with you, but I'm off to bed to watch TV; I'm embarrassed to ask for more clue!

Sily is here too. With the wind up her tail. Zooooom! Mrooooow!

LOL can imagine.
I didn't get a nap today. Tired.
how's the snow?
NOt sure I am happy with this napping thing but needs must. Snow clearing and not settling thank goodness.
Glos has about 2" *sigh*
oh no, really!
yep! cotswolds are a nightmare for snow at the moment
I just want spring to come along.
omg me too
Intersting grid today, mix of normal words and babblets.
I got so stuck on the pf!
sily: bounce! *explores bag* bounce!
sily: wriggle wriggle mrrrrrooooow!

Oh James May is about to fly in a U2

we must set a date forme to come down and visit.
so when are you coming to visit Silvercla?
once the weather has setled down.
lol :)
How about next month?
whenever! just let me know :)
okey dokey :)
sounds good to me!
I think I'm pretty much here in February
Good!
*peaks in the chog*
How is C doing btw?
it'll be nice to have someone to talk to :) I'm feeling really lonely at the moment. Which is silly.
omg. she wants me to go look after her for a week on Sunday
awe, hun!
{{{ata}}}
D is going to be soooo happy about that lol
I decided that this is the worst bit about marriage. You can be utterly lonely, but can't go out and relieve it elsewhere!
but I have my black blob :)
Hi jmc
Ata do you want to get togethersoner if you are feeling down?
well let's see what the weather does!!
hullo
you know you are welcome to come and stay for a while.
anybody have the pa7,40?
I know *hugs*
plural rice fields
Hi jess
d'oh. thanks ata, that's firewords
hi jess!
yay jes!
so long as you bring Hobbit of course *grin*
how are all your fosterlings?
well of course!!
Congrats Jes.
annoying, ata. dumb cat about got herself tossed out in the snow this morning
she is NOT getting along with the cats in residence, and i am so very tired of listening to the growling
especially at 5am
urf! yes, that can get very wearisome ....
whoo hoo jes
know anybody that would like a little black cat and doesn't already have other cats or small childrens?
do you have skyp ata?
have you come across cannibalistic hamsters?
*pulls on foil cap to protect from cannibalistic hamsters*
noooo. but I'm ok really. just having a *gloom* today
LOL
does foil protect from cannibals?
me? yeah. hamsters are evil.
i've met... 3? nice hamsters. rest are all pure rodenty evilness
Haz does get some of the best stories doesn't she!
they look so cute
okay I wont nag -- that makes me even more blue when people do that
FOIL protects me from anything!
lol you're not nagging dear :)
what's that, jam?
jes, haz came across a client whose hamster was scoffing her new borns. and got most concerned
what's what?
(just to explain the interest in hamsters!)
what's "that" which makes you even more blue?
a preggers client -- obviously fearful for her own new born to come
Haz has suffered more than most but I guess that is part of being a vets wife.
Great work on your icon, Ata
yeah. usually when the moms eat the babies means either: overcrowded, underfed, or out of water. unfortunately, once they start, they pretty much don't stop, even if the husbandry is corrected for subsequent litters.
oh for example if i mention to my sister i am blue she will then spend the next week asking me how i am feeling
hi BR
Oh James May has finally taken off in the U2!!
ty BR! it's ongoing experimentation with gilding - which is ridiculously hard, I've discovered
Hello
heh. so we shouldn't ask how you are? hmmm...
no no never mind jes! lol
Hi BR
it's always such an impossible line between making someone worse through continued questions, or through ignoring them :P
we love you, jam! no being blue! :D
like hugging I am not good with overly solicitousness
BRB
i can seldom stay blue in the chog -- am usually giggling too much
i know ata it is a hard line from both si4s
*tickles jam*
me too, I think babble has saved many of us many a night!
ack!!!
Hello, FM -- how is life as a nouveau riche?
she's too busy to stay inthe log for more than 5 sec s at a time :P
oo FM has $$$$$$?
millions!
seriously? she win the lotto?
how did that happen?
lol no, not very seriously
she sold her house though, so she's suddenly comfortable :)
ah isn't buying a new one?
I turn my backfor a moment and then see this!!
only a palace or two
I am happy and content but did not win the lotto!
that was jellen :P
but it so much easier to gossip about you if your back is turned!\
Personally I blame HAz for multiple rumors.
who blames you ,Im sure
lol jmc, in which case I will go and put the kettle on so youcan all gossip away :)
FM, do you want to hear what cool thing I discovered about Dr Who / Torchwood today? (sorry everyone :P)
decisions decisions who to blame?
see? told you she only stayed for 5 secs!
Ata tell me in about 5 mins when I get back.
right like we haven't had to sit through Dr Who Torchwood conversations before!
k :)
you have? goodness!
and apparently Torchwood is being remade for an American audience ...
why why why? that usually means dumming it down and adding an American hero
I know. It's horrific. But! they are keeping the same writers, so theres hope
well i probably won't watch it anyway so i don't know why i care
if you ever decide to, watch the English Version!
we have taste and style
i will make a note of it
*cough* Monty Python
that had style ..........
a style, anyway!
Benny Hill
Now there's class ..
why would they remake it here when most have watched it here already?
thats what I wonder
you just like the bare naked ladies that Benny Hill chased
Back. My garden backs onto a churchyard and they are doing bell ringing practice, wonderful sound but some of them do need to get better!
even Benny Hill compared to Paris Hilton
moneys, dc
Hi dc
thats why it's practice :)
hi dc and torg
hello, FM. They must have a nebie
newbie
hello, jmc, ata, torg
hi everybody! Does anyone have a clue for the ri4, 7?
So Ata what about Dr Who/Torchwood?
no ri4/7
sorry. re4, 7
oh yes! well. this is very geeky but ... in Dr Who lore, there is a "race" called the Master Vampires - the Time Lords battled them in the time of Rassillon - they went round eating whole worlds. And then! on the Torchwood website, Owen "writes" that TW3 has the last remaining Master Vampire in their storage vaults. I do love these tiny tie-ins
coral re**
great barrier (re4/7)
TY Hawk!
YW
and you didn''t now this already? Sheesh!
*grin*
I know I know :P
Time for me to go so nighty night all and see you tomorrow.
nigthy night!!
(((Ata)))
bye FM
have you finished, jmc?
no i have 15 left
monkeying the second si 4/5 right now
keep monkeying, it sounds like a word
lol well there's a clue
at least more than something like siea or siol
one more and I can't find it does anyone have a clue for un6/27 Please.
one footed, sue
it's true many of the words don't sound like words
got it
don't get it.
swear i typed that at least three time
un*=one+ latin for foot
Thank you sooooo much
think of the tri*** that you place a camera on to keep it steady
unipod
sorry wrote it wrong place
well its good to know you got it! lol
so fireworks for you sue?
grrrrr I've just been told off for not trying hard enough to unblock the sink *facepalm*
can I help any one
i'd fire that plumber then
;-)
how about the pe4/5 after urinates?
all perfect husband is now fixing it *rolls eyes*
pe + not out
well i thought that is what a husband was for -- to fix the plumbing? *looks innocent*
you dont pee on the outside you pee on the --side
me too! next time I'll leave a stinky sink for him!
well whoo hooo sue!
ty sue
Sue, How do you know where I pee?
so sue are you new? i don't remember meeting you before?
cute lawyer!
yes 4 days old
welcome to babbleland then
Thank you, JM. I've been called that b4.
lawyer is always cute :P
because she assume you don't want to be disbarred --exposure may be a crime of moral turpitude
Gee, I wish I could blush!
Don't you use Turpitude to mix with paint?
right lawyer if you got caught urinating outs4 i bet you could blush
ask the bar association if that is what you do with turpitude ;-)
name your stakes, JM
besides, there is a difference between could blush and would blush
jmcnrick - what is your icon?
and should blush
too true lawyer
touche, Sue
some weird colony she lives in :P
lol sue!
woulda, coulda, shoulda
it is the colonial flag of the District of Columbia christine
lol
Ata, we are no longer referred to as colonies
who you calling weird ata? :-P
see! it's a colony!
DC is still a colony
I thought it was that or a quilt
no my quilts are usually lone star quilts
DC is a hunk of land stolen from Maryland
I personally would be happy to be ceded back to Maryland if I get a voting congressional member and my local laws are not vetoed by Congress
where do i sign?
you'd rather have them messed up by the jerks serving in our legislature?
Is that the whole flag, and is it sqare?
with all you lovely clever americans here, could someone please explain in idiot's language what the big deal with the election thing last night is?
hey even the maryland legislature doesn't veto bethesda's laws
In case anyone is interested, a calamity befell Baltimore Yesterday
fireworks!!! - second time :)
ah well it is that the democrats no longer have a strangle hold on the senate (not that they really did before)
whoo hooo bo!!!
ohhhhhhhh
yay bo!
what was the Bal-more calamity
re: election, it breaks the 60-40 lock that the dems had in the senate. it
thought the calmaity was in Mass
Bojazz - how did you rate a second set of firebirds?
Yesterday was the birthday of Edgar Allan Poe (I don't suppose any of you sent him a card)
so that means either the health bill is screwed (screweder) or the Democrats have to get a back bone
???
news is so stupid. we had so much about the Mass election, but no-one bothered to explain the bigger picture like that!
I wept a moment for him
but how is that a calamity for Bal-more
He came to my place & we had a pie full of four and twenty black birds
Dear Edgar, Love you, miss you, want you,
For the last 60 years, someone has mysteriously left a half-filled bottle and cognac on his grave
*edges away from sajarn*
they missed?
and roses accompanied the cognac
Having drunk the top half on the way to the grave?
no doubt christine
and this year came and went with no sign of even a cheap wine and weeds, let alone cognac and roses
poor Poe!
oh too bad!
I think it's worse that none of you probably care
when i first moved to DC someone place fresh flowers at Churchills statue next to the British embassy each week but they stopped about 5 years ago
well blame the press -- they didn't report it
He told me that as he is a recovering alchoholic, allergic to most greenery, he didn't mind.
I'm thinking of starting a new tradition by replacing the cognac and roses with a dead raven and a bloody pendulum
every time I go past Rossetti's grave, I leave flowers on it
Poe that is, though I guess it could apply to Churchill.
or, perhaps a telltale heart
the only reason he recovered is he died
at least a lot of new kids will have been exposed t oPoe this year through Warehouse 13 talking about him
no then his grave will get covered with teddy bears and cupie dolls
but the hearts would be ripped out of the bears and dolls
I think Poe would kinda like that
lol a wonderful image
Bad, bad lawyer
so lawyer you going to come to the Baltimore meetup in May?
OK, now it's time for me to be nice. I must go to coach my high school mock trial team
I think he would have done!
what a saint!
JM...depends on when and where
keep an eye on DCSeian's profile
usually a saturday late lunch
depends on how late
then we can see who wins the bet about blushing!
and where
we are open to suggestions in Baltimore
odds are that you would blush first
you do realize i am a lawyer too? did a bit of criminal law? now do military law?
I think you're probably rigth there :P
blush is not in repertoire
Only a DC lawyer would challenge me as you did
well you 2 can have a blushing competition :D
lol
I would suggest the Paper Moon Diner...It would fit this crowd
nah that is pretty much any lawyer! lol
or a peeing contest
I will pass that on to DC then -- where is it?
more likely a pissing contest
wherever it is, it sounds nice!
It's near Johns Hopkins Univ. and the Baltimore Museum of Art
OK...time to run...or drive....bis morgen!
okay that sounds doable
byee!
cioa lawyer
okay i have to go do some filing --bbl to finish my 12 left
I *like* having lawyer around. You know how you lot get people like me and Sprite as having been around *forever*? Well, he's my version of that :)

Well, thank you - I was sur I'd already tried that.
always try things twice :P

I keep losing words from my list, and sometimes I don't remember what I entered an hour earlier.
thats soooo annoying
*wanders in an innocently wonders if lawyers coach high school debate so they have someone to be smarter than...* *wicked mama look*

TO it's a diff. spelling
2nd pe5= multiple of pe4

Oh dear,TO. I think we're talking about 2 diff. words

looks like it's only us here ... i'll keep your secret
hey crossy
hi welki
hi, jess
howdy jes
stupid user question, crossy. i got a reader... and have no problem loading in sony formated books, but tried to add a word document, and it tells me it imported it, but doesn't display it in the library.
now that is strange indeed
try changing the word to a pdf perhaps
there are many free programs out there to change your various doccuments around as needed
i run almost totally in pdf or e-pub
yeah... i wold think i shouldn't have to though, since it lists .doc and .docx and .txt as supported formats
apoligize
oops
just din't know if it'd stick it somewhere else
evening all
hi dan
hi dan
usually not an issue with me,but as a habit i run in pdf..if it becomes a real problem, let me know and ill research this
well, i'll play with it more tonight and see if i can find it
kk, thanks :)
hi. does anyone have a clue for the un 6/27?
your trying to carry around nots and or work doccuments i assume
notes*
oh btw jes,i picked up a sd card for the wifes reader and it works amazing.i was able to take pictres from a camera, move them to the reader and then take them all to the in-laws places and then imput them into one of thse digital picture frames we got them for x-mass.very convienient indeed;)))
and what we do now is because of the wifes vision,i dont want her searching through a big list of books in the reader lists,so what i do is keep all her books on the sd card, and and put one at a time on the internal storage so she dosent have to hunt for her current book;))
got a 2 gig card on sale and i think there is about 150 books on there at this time;)
and crossy kills the chat;(((
nah, i was gridding. and now i'm grrrr-ing because it was so small and went too quickly
hi all. i got half way and now it doesn't look that easy anymore
when they are this small i just enjoy the chit chat and drag the grid out
i had some extra time this afternoon, so when i got home from work, i made a one-pot supper, put it in the oven and sat down to the grid. and now it's done ... what to do, what to do ... laundry? no! cleaning? no!
howdy dorens
how are you crossy, welki?
chit chat ... yes!
doing well, dorens, thanks! and you?
oh welki i wish i had your dilemma... i have a million old ny times magazines that i can't throw out till i read them, and books and all... and when do we have the time for them?
usually when they're this small, i find less chat crossy
not bad at all.dr finally gave me some pills for acid reflux and they are amazing!! i really dont know why they hold back on the good drugs for 5 years before they cough up,but now i have a tummy of a 25 year old;)))
ohhh, i wish i had them .. i miss the puzzles. i get them up here, but it's just not the same if they're not in the magazine
sorry...work happened. going back to read now..
are they those little purple pills cross?
hello all ((cross)) now you won't be so "cross"?
bye jes...
ooooooh, stid
sec ill get the bottle
a little losec goes a long way, crossy (or prilosec, depends on manufacturer)
nexxium or something like that?
hey all
hi stid, rushie
not nexium..it was not covered..1 sec
ran-rabeprazole it is called, little oval pills
hey doren!
well glad it works... hi rushie
down to 35 earlier, now playing for a few minutes and then will take a look at reading and such.
hey rushie
mine (losec) are Omeprazole .. similar, i suppose
well, we're both at 35 stid, but no race please
there's no slot for a memory card on my reader, crossy...I got the little one, is that something only the bigger one does?
hi stid
hahahaha, what a bunch of old farts, talking about acid reflux medicine ... pretty soon, we'll be chatting about depends *lol*
apparently i lied yeserday
well it was so bad, every time i rolled over in bed,i would stir it up and it would burn all the way up my throat..nasty
shh welki
hello all!
hello pip
yeah, it's awful .. and then the choking. did you get that?
what model # did you get jes?
hello pippin, glad to see you... no double shift?
double shift got out early since it's chilly and i was working outside
hello, pippin
yes welki and choking on the liquid that backs up in your throat at night
...and then you KNOW you're going to die because you can't get any breath in, even though you know there's nothing obstructing your airway. we are kindred souls
i almost sleep sitting upright
yes welki,i know THAT feeling, the air will only come in small sips and your gasping
glad you are now home and warm, pippin. *offers warm cup of tea*
the pills will help .. that, and try not to eat for a few hours before bed
(hate it ... and then you're afraid to go back to sleep)
indeed
down to 21 now... and still listless. *hmph* and dog is making more methane than an entire herd of bovines. *sigh*
even though i'm sorry you suffer with it, it's kind of nice to know i'm not the only one
lol your lucky you have a dog...i have to blame it on the cats lol
*thinking cross probably needs to borrow THIS dog. RIGHT NOW*
(like mrs. crossy doesn't know who the real culprit is)
indeed welki, and the acid can get so bad in the night, and you try to drink water and that makes it worse;/
there are foam wedges you can buy that will raise you just a bit
i have the matress raised AND 3 pillows under my head
my stomachs way of saying"stop eating all that crap!" i suppose lol
not fun if you want to sleep on your side or stomach ... because you know what happens when you sleep on your back. blech!!
bred .. bacon reflux esophageal disease
on the back?? forget it!!! if i didnt swallow my tongue,my snoring would set off car alarms!
LOL .. we must be related
*hangs cross up from the rafters to sleep*
lol stid
wanna compare scars now welki? hehe
I keep typing "poodle" and it keeps not working.
i think you'd win that rotten contest, crossy :(
sorry, had a phone call
lol,but i think i shall set up a shrine to this refux drug and light a candle hehe
careful about the candle, crossy ... don't put it near the "CAT"
hehe
and that probiotic/acidophillous is great, wife is taking antibiotics and she can take 2 of theese a day to replace the good bacteria..amazing what they are doing now
clearly not going to get nbt without the list, but i think at least i will get halfway done first
well, maybe...
well, guess i'd better do something around here .. clean the kitchen before supper, play with the dogs, pet the cat ... later folks!
tc welki
bye welki
wow, i think i might be stuck. huh.
sorry, stidkid needed a consult on homework (bye welki)
pippin, I got halfway and NBT without the list, I think you can too. holler if you need help on a specific tile
i'm at 34 and stalled, don't have the top u or n, or the right hand e (i am poor today)
I have trouble with the singletons
like the u and the n on the top row
top u is a single-footed critter
ah, ty!
the top N is a babblet: ni 4 (not ma)
ty
ty stid
sure thing pippin. I needed help with the no-foot A LOL
ty again, my generous mistress
I would have no trouble with this game if it used normal words
ty stid
true that, esprit!!!!
I am down to 17 and seriously stalled. trying to decide if I want to try to cook for dinner or play the sick card and ask tom if spaghetti is okay.
is the right hand e a 4 letter word?
spaghetti is always okay!
yes pippin, babblet again
do you have some cream cheese stid?
no cross, have a soy-based substitute maybe
why?
stid, what do you mean by babblet? (said the newbie lurker)
bah. must help the other stidkid now.
erica, hello! a babblet is a "word" that is fairly common in grids, but not in general use in English
back again. discharging patients...
they are usually fewer than 6 letters long.
*mental view of large bore cannon being discharged as patients are sent away...*
gotcha. thanks for the clues.
back soon
what you do is take a nice flavoured cream cheese or a regular cream cheese put it in a pan,add about 5 tbs of water, and ir regular cream cheese, add you favorite herbs and spices...then on a low/med heat you melt it down into a cream sauce then add your cooked and strained pasta...it is amazing
heheh. i've a few clients i'd like to discharge that way, stid ;)
i like the herb and garlic or vegetable creamed cheese for this
lol i missed her
HI crossy. I just got here and saw your dinner suggestion. Sounds great!
i use white sauces a lot because red tomato based sauces kill my stomach
so i missed your answer about whether it's just my malfunction or if the memory cards are only an option for the bigger readers, crossy...sorry to make you repeat yourself
ty bug..it is very tasty
jes..what model reader did you get?
I like that it is easy and fast too
very easy, but they think you slaved for hours lol
the little one, the sony ereader 300
just add 4 tbs more water for creamier mixture
ahh thats why jes,now only the 600 or the discontinued 700 have sd card slots
ive not researched the new daily edition reader, but it has all the bells and whistles as well
but the 300 will work fine for you as well jes,it is the multiple file formatt support that is the big seller for me
ah; yeah, i went with the 300 cuz it's LOTS less spendy
yes..the 700 cost me 550 dollars by the time all was said and done;/
and figured the amount of memory it has is plenty for me. i tend not to keep most of the ebooks i read anyway.
ouch. i'll probably get all the way up to 200 by the time i buy a book armor or similar to carry it in
the closest they have to the 700 now is the 600,and it does not have a built in reading light and you have to buy the case and a external light seperate
im glad you found a model that will suit you jess, they are nice dependable machines
oh, that reminds me... good sources for free downloads? Project Gutenberg, Mobileread, Baen Free Library.... any others I should know of?
you seem to have the main ones jes,i have one for audio books on the other computer that i will have to get to you later
now what type of books do you enjoy jes?
mostly fantasty/sci fi, but snagged the Sherlock Holmes Omnibus last night :)
some dickens and poe once in a while
no opposed to a little lovecraft
ok my e-mail is chipdip33@hotmail.com go ahead and contact me and ill get you on my i.m list and ill send you a bunch of e-books
hmm. not into romance chick-lit stuff, but i do like kid's lit :)
dont forget the mark twains while your in gutenburg.com
yeah, i should try more of his stuff. liked tom sawyer, but never could get through huck finn
and dont forget if you like lovecraft that august dearlth is also on the free domain list
not familiar with him
but i can get you many sf titles because most of the best ones were written in the 30,s to 50,s
excellent :)
Baen has a bunch of free downloads, but pretty limited author selection in the free stuff
i have the hobbit and the lord of the rings right now if you wish,as well as the twilight series
can i get a clue for the pe6 please?
and about 50 stephen king novels
*reading cross' instructions for "cream" sauce*
that looks yummy, cross -- do I need to add bacon, or is that optional?
it is so easy stid;) if using plain creamed cheese, add basil, oregeno,a dash of garlic, some pepper and away u go
lol bacon is optional
but preferred
;0
read twilight; much to chick-flicky for my taste, but thanks. stephen king is more my flavor
id add the exra 4 tbs of water to start, cause it comes out a tad stiff otherwise
much too, even. i can use English!
i have many stephen kings jes,so be sure to e-mail me
wont be till tommorow though,im on the other computer
I like that id4, cross, will try it (if not tonight, then soon -- have to see whether what's in the fridge is still edible)
already sent it, crossy
if i don't do it right away, i forget
lol jess,if your on tommorow, ill set you up proper
excellent, thanks!
assuming my computer does die overnight, i'll at least be around for email :)
for now though, it's quittin' time!
thats the great thing about the sony reader, because it is not a proprietary formatt,we can simply share books;))
ok tc jes
(((jes))) have a lovely evening.
hugs to everybody! :)
((jes))
well, down to 15 and stuck I think I will list.
and the first one I find is a fish *sigh*

a cat started hanging around my daughter's home, a beautiful black and white cat. no tag, no tattoo, no collar. she looked for "lost' posters, called around .. no owner claimed him. he's the purrrrfect cat, she wanted to keep him so badly,
yes the Ps were tricky
nrkii...which ones?
one from each, MPitt... no list, not sure more than that
how many total points tonight?
I have a lovely black and white cat

then she thought to look on craig's list ... my daughter lives in eatontown, new jersey ... there was an ad for the cat ... from an owner in pennsylvania!! "bruce" was missing for six weeks and somehow made the 40 mile trip to my daughter's doorstep ... reunion followed, and although my daughter wishes she could have kept him (and thinks that sometimes doing the right thing is pretty crappy), she's happy that he's back home. the end.

as of yesterday, I had one promise of a job offer, but no idea of title, salary or start date
as of today, I have one job offer, and another promise of a job offer with no idea of title, salary or start date
no, both are local... first is 12 miles from here, the other is 1 mile from here
But you need more info to make a decision!
maybe just a tiny bit more info, LOL
But to have a local job is HUGE!
do u at least know the names of the potential employers?
yes. huge is right.
ROFL, lawyer 1... THAT at least I know
Maybe you can play them off one another
How big is Lambertville?
the offer I did get is decent, but not stunning
help please. stuck on the pe6/24,
Lambertville is only 7,000 people
pe6 24 is past tense of pe 5 12
pe 5/12 is pe + r*** and shine
salmo, pt of the one above it.
of course, after almost a year out of work, a decent offer is kind of stunning in and of itself
thank you. fireworks. couldn't see it for looking.
yay salmo!!!
I would have lost my mind within a few wks--how have you survived financially?
Yippee Salmo
Heyas kids ..
Hi tor
I was extremely lucky. I refinanced my house a year earlier, and I had money sitting in my checking account for almost a year. I was indecisive about what to do with the money... new windows, central air, etc...
Hi Tor!
so my total lack of decision-making abilities (which is completely out of character for me) paid off -- I ended up living on unemployment + that money
bruce's owner posted this: http://tiny.cc/75LnL
which is now almost gone
I just met with my financial planner today to review things--changes with my new job, etc. I hate money stuff, retirement planning, etc
nrk, you're in market research?
if someone had just told me that I'd be out of work for a year, I could have really enjoyed this past year
yes welki
i was out of work for one week after college and nearly went insane
<-- already insane
NODS HEAD
I was out of work for 4 months a few years ago, but it didn't phase me because the economy was still okay and I had never had trouble finding work before... I pretty much took 3 of those months off intentionally, and found a job quickly once I started looking...
this was quite different... it was a good lesson in learning to live with ambiguity
ru! you a dog daddy?
something I am pretty bad with
Yahoo for Bruce + his loved ones.
Sunday is dylan day
:-( I thought it was last weekend
Woo hoo, Ruru + Dylan!
he's got bedroom eyes :)

takes after daddy ru
hahaha ... retirement planning!! me, i'm on the Freedom 95 plan!
what's the freedom 95 plan?
I tell pre-med kids that the advantage of being a MD is that you will never be unemployed. There are many disadvantages though.
i'll bite "what's that welki?"
i won't be able to retire until i'm 95 :)
welki, does that mean you'll have to keep working till you're 95?
same for being a lawyer -- i can always hang out my shingle
*ding ding ding* nrk got it!
LOL, that's me too
I am retiring at 60...
*flicks a termite off her shingle*
or 62..
last year ru?
I was thinking about that today... interviewed a kid for college admission, and he wants to be pre-med
OK, I finished watching my "24" tape and now I must get to bed.
and I thought, if I had done that, or law, I wouldn't be in this mess

thanks we like it
I wish I lived in Babble Land
might be a bit warmer there!
and you were all my neighbors
wouldn't that be fun...oh, to be a babble neighbor! :)
we could start our own country
I miss Mr. Rogers
Perhaps a "monkey" sillouette should don Babble Land's national flag!
that would be good..a screaming, flying monkey
* giggle *
haven't seen Li'l Monkey for quite a while
me either...but I know she's around somewhere...play lex w/her on FB
oh that's good
don't usually catch her online when I'm there, but we keep playing! :)
you don't have to be online with the person you're playing? I didn't know that
that's right...you just play when you it's your turn...are you on FB?
I keep unjoining it takes up too much time
ahhhh, gotcha ;)
I wanted to keep track of the kids and grandkids but then I'd start reading everyone's walls and never did play whick is why I joined
*which
I hurt my little finger peeling stupid potatoes and typing is challenging
well, dear...you can hide all of their posts and just play the games! :)
oooh, sorry! hope it heals quickly!
I bled like a stuck pig !!
OUCH!
new fangled peeler
that's what I get for cooking lol
I thought about making something for dinner, but I'm not really interested so may just resort to a bowl of cereal...
no peeler involved! :)
that's always good
* grin *
tmw the office is buying...I'll save some room for that!
celebrating something?
job candidate is coming for a site interview...
hello :)
hi jilli ;)
hi jilli
FIREWORDS!!!
Yay pini !!
YAY pini!!!
* beaming * I didn't even ask for clues! :)
* cursty *
you did well !!
I didn't either -- just used morewords, lol!
some strange words in this one
Yay jilli too !!
that's for sure!!!
my last few were pe's
but while we're waiting for the flip, I'd better go get my "dinner"...will chat as I eat (if I can hold it and type at the same time)
brb
Oh, I finished last night.
see you soon cereal girl
jilli I got fireworks and nbt at the same time..couldn't get that un
I'm trying to lose some more weight -- having half portions (as much as possible -- couldn't have half a lamb chop tonight) and cutting down on booze and sugar.
need help....just the u to go....gotta get to work now???
sounds like a good plan
un and a popular Apple product
Un + new little listening device
we think alike jilli
great minds, west
hope we get a challenging one tonight
or at least one that's a bit bigger
I didn't find this one easy, grem -- my vocabulary is normal English unlike yours ;)
yeah
a bit bigger would be ok for me but I'll be playing bridge all afternoon
got it thanks
after a while, I started to find words based on how common the letters were, not how commonly they are used
wtg ishult!
yay ish !!
* bowl down for a moment * Gremlinn, I answered your question about, "what is chog." It is CHAT + LOG = CHOG ;)
* back to bowl *
sorry I missed it and thanks
*wondering what cereal is in the bowl*
me too lol
* frosted flakes *
I guessed Honey Bunches of Oats
are they grrreat?
enjoy, pini :)
* yes, Tony! *
(too sugary for me)
I just like oatmeal
kids are grown and gone and I actually get to enjoy a bowl every now and then!
don't mind oatmeal, but prefer malt-0-meal ;)
that brings back memories
oh it does haven't had maltOmeal in years
btw, temp here was 57F (14C) today, partly sunny
jilli that's wonderful !!
for hot cereals I like Red River cereal best -- you probably don't know it
never heard of it
what is it most like?
It's Canadian
will have to google that one...
it's unique -- I can't describe it and don't have a box handy to give the ingredients. Raw, it's little grains of beige to reddish-brownish
oh yes, google probably knows.
I just googled it and Amazon has it for $49 must be a misprint
Red River Cereal is a porridge, or hot cereal, made of wheat, rye, and flax, produced in Canada, with some availability elsewhere. It was first created in 1924 in Manitoba. The cereal takes its name from the Red River of the North, more specifically the valley around Winnipeg. The brand name is currently owned by Robin Hood Multifoods, Inc. of Markham, Ontario, a division of Smucker Foods of Canada Co.
sounds very healthy
gotta love google (or bing.com in my case)
yes, whatever did we do without them
found a place where a 2-pack is $16.95 (8.48 ea)
* grin *
oh, but shipping is $12!
we can get jilli to send us some
or I could take a drive up the coast and visit! Jilli, do you serve it in the morning at your B&B??? ;)
or at least put some in the PB
I will if you come, pini!
is that Breakfast and Babble?
might have to pick up stid on the way!!!
ROFL, good one, west!
Great idea, west!
stid can't have Red River -- she's allergic to wheat.
but she can come along for the ride!!!
Now you've got me all re-interested and I'll have to put some on my shopping list.
gotta splurge periodically, jilli...
oh yes -- she thought maybe at Spring Break she'd have time
are you expecting guests for the Olympics jilli?
It's not expensive here
I could use a trip to Canada...might have to work on renewing my passport now to make it even possible.
no, west -- they're not really near here and Vancouver will be a zoo. TV will do nicely.
I tend to agree
do that, pini!
driver's license won't do anymore, right?
Vancouver residents are somewhat ticked -- roads closed, parking reserved, etc etc
that's always the way
no, pini, not if you want to get back to the states from this dangerous terrorist-ridden copuntry
in that case, maybe I'll just have to rent a spare room!
with contraband cereal
brb
we made jilli hungry?
at least carry-on baggage is ok again on planes
* giggle * can you just see me now? Contraband Pini! cha right!! LOL
apparently ;)
we renewed our passports last year always go through Canada on our way to Michigan
it's so much nicer
west, you're kinda on my way up north, aren't you?
no I'm in RI
no -- wanted to change TV channels
too much of a detour to join me and stid then...sorry!
I know, rats!! always wanted to see BC
Chris Matthews of Hardball on MSNBC annoys me -- constantly interrupting his guests with his own opinions
hello and almost goodbye babblebuds...jilli, westie, pini evy1 here
hi just ;)
who is he interviewing?
goodbye?
hi justy -- when do you leave?
you leaving?
hi pini...going on vacation
hi just!!
(((westie))) leaving in less than 7 hours
been thinking about you thought you might already be there
where to?
west, he waqs interrupting whatshisname -- the doctor former presidential hopeful who yelled
that is so nice..have a wonderful time
nope off tomorrow til feb 4th
Acapulco, pinni
Acapulco, isn't it, just?

yup jilli :)
and NO Cliff diving
will try westie...so nice to finally see you again
oh my...can I sneak into your suitcase?
<--- envious
you too !!
<--- turning green, too ;)
lol don't even think I can walk to see them (but have seen them before)
have you checked the weather there?
I have happy memories of Acapulco in the 60s
I pray it will be perfect
sure pini as long as you weigh less than 20kilos or 44lbs
we were there in 1975
<-- taint never been to no Alcupolki
yes I have westie ...nothing but sun for at least the next 5 days
sadly, just, I don't think I'm quite there yet!
lol I would hope not...not that I don't wanna take you
so happy to hear that !!
hrmph!
will the kids be okay on their own? lol
happy new year westie all the best to you and yours! (haven't seen you in ages :(
going to change icon -- Madagascan Animals is the theme
oy I think (hope) so west!
same to you..just can't seem to get it together
our tree is still up
np west....I know we all have our "shtick"
the Christmas police will be here soon
I certainly have mine sigh....
better the Christmas police than the tongue troopers (jilli will know what i mean)
that sounds intrigue-ing
wasn't sure how to spell that lol
Don't sweat it Westie....take it and do it at your own speed and bedamned anyone who tells you otherwise
that's what we figured..we never go in there ..I suggested leaving it up
tongue troopers = language cops :(
ah
Haven't finished this grid (29 left) and don;t think I will, or can for that matter
we can help if you need
wee be here fer ya!
what time do you have to be at the airport?
you've got about 25 seconds per word, if you wanna give it a shot
nah doesn't matter westie but thx anyways....
just wanted to poke my nose in to say hello and a bientot
I'm so glad you did !!
the tongue troopers were (are?) super-vigilant for signs of the despised English language -- no apostrophes allowed, for instance, so Eaton's department store became just Eaton. But my d-i-l had a bar and they called it Grumpys with no apostrophe and it still exists although it's an English word
well, don't do anything we wouldn't do!!! and have an incredible time!
a bientot = see you soon!
oh, and don't forget to bring back souveneirs!!!
me too....missed you west...
Bon voyage, justy, and be careful!
sure pini whaddya want...sombrero? tequilia? huh? lol
will be careful...been there often enough to know where to go and where not to go
missed you too just..have the best time..bet they'll treat you like a queen
this is gonna be a real laid back one...need to refresh my soul
I want one of the lousy t-shirts!!!!
Is that house of ill repute on the hillside still there? I've forgotten its name, but it had a Diners' Club sign outside which amused us.
you know the ones that say, "My friend went to Acupolco and all I got was this t-shirt!"
have no idea jilli!
(so much for spelling)
lousy t shirt? any t shirt?
Ah, I remember -- Rebecca's.
lol don't think we will buy anything cause whatever there was to buy we've bought! lol
know the t-shirt now, just? * wicked grin *
of Sunnybrook Farm?
I hope you all enjoyed my previous icon of Christian Lacroix fashions. This one is rather different.
and of course the weather outlook here is to be above normal values lol
hardly of Sunnybrook Farm, west! They put on feelthy shows for tourists
but it'll be a lot warmer there I'm sure
I did. I couldn't decide which LaCroix she meant so I didn't choose
we see your forecasts here just and it's too cold there
I just guessed, seeing that the previous theme she chose was fashion mistakes.
oh not now west....we're above normal temps for this time of year!
my friend was engaged to Jay LaCroix but he wasn't in google lol
hello everyone :)
justie it's still cold
hi all
hi nan :)
hi nan
hi dee too!!
hi nan
hi west; nan; just; hugs jili

a nice big easy grid
so I guess the clothes won't get folded
haven't seen anything more than about 270 since I started playing here
mine are still in the dryer
There have been ones around 500, grem
we had a 550+ once
I have seen in the 400's but it has been awhile
I want to try one of those
when are they going to invent a dryer that folds
