And my anniverrsary in US - 49 years today. One of the best ideas I had, ewas coming to US.
I understand the real Scots just say Robert. I'm only three-quarters Scot ;)
a friend, visiting with 2 year old son, saw them on our property and thought my hubby was growing hotdogs - they live in the city
alternate spelling for that je: you can double the R

I'd intended to stay for only a year (I had a job waiting in Australia), but I tell people by the time my second foot left the 'plane, I was a Californian.
lol west
good ones grem
I was a Californian when I popped out in the hospital
that's great Christine where did you land?
but I didn't know it at the time
lol grem
In California, after stopping overnight in New York.
I mean where in CA?
:os Angeles
the big cal airport that serves the whole state lol
must have been overwhelming
:os = the rare snake-tongue smiley
alternately, the "eating spaghetti" smiley
No, back in 1961 there was a little airport. Once LAX came on the scene, the little airport became the charter-plane airport
hey now, we have an international airport in San Diego
Oh, :os - must be my Italian background seeping through.
I liked when the airports were smaller
me too West, the Victoria airport is a nice small one
Dallas/Ft.Worth has a huge one
west to the pb
pb = pig bacon?
Except -- walking down those steep roll-up ladders, aaargh.
it must be a secret code-word 'round these parts
Bacon? a bacon sandwich, please.
Nanaimo still lets you walk on the tarmac to get on a little plane
I remember when Victoria did jilli
Pooh - don't "let" me do any such thing, thank you very much.

howdy ru! how's your boy?
he is wonderful... I am in love
awwwwwww
awwwwww
9 lost years, flosey -- I was just 12 when I last saw him and 22 with a baby the next time
smart as anything this one
was he able to correspond during that time?
awwwwww ruru -- picture, please!
that's even better
icon changed
ah jilli, can only imagine how he felt seeing you as a mommy too
Rururocks - which is your baby?
great picture nan !
for a little while, west, but rarely when he was interned 1941-45 -- just a couple of postcards. The worst thing was that although we wrote to him, he didn't get our letters. Cruel.
that is so cruel
but he had his thoughts and memories of you and your mother
nan, that's a great picture -- where did you find it?
my phant is rehearse
I took it when we were in Edi this summer, Jill
West, he wrote some wonderful verses.
That was smart, nan!
I do hope you'll share them all in the book you are going to write
lol -- was killing time -- hubby was not quite ready to leave when I got there (still tasting the wares)
sure, west
he looks so lifelike nan
probably borrowed from Mme. Tussaud!
one place I'd like to visit
my advice is to do it in August and take in the tattoo and fringe festival -- but get your tickets for the tattoo a year in advance as they sell out almost immediately when they go on sale every November
daughter and her family have a trip planned for June not sure if she has tickets
I've been reading Ian Rankin's Rebus books and alsmost feel as if I've been there. And they have lots of our Scot words in them, lol!
the ticket situation can be checked on line, West -- just google 'Edinburgh Military Tattoo'
I'll tell her, thanks nan
I'm reading "How the Scots invented the world" - they're everywhere. My sister (one of them) married a Scotsman.
are there only 2 re 7's?
yes Dee and 1 8
just have 2, dee and an re 8

I could listen all night jilli
jilli, what is your elbuck?
beats me, flosey -- elbow?
lol
sure cuz he was playing his fiddle
right - that is quite a workout
I've had a "Burns Birthday Book" since I was a kid, and it has a quotation for each day. That's one of them.
interesting
but I have heard that playing the fiddle had another meaning
Oh probably, west, lol -- and I guess raunchy Rabbie would have been well aware
sure would lol
Ooooh, just turned-on the television, and a ver vamped Susan Boyle is on.
just as long as her voice doesn't change

ty lynxxx.. I do feel better having him
do you use a crate or kennel ru?
crate and he has an ex-pen
Is it a crate? Granddaughter's pup was totally crate-trained and heads straight in there when he's had enough.
ex-pen where?
that is what our daughter had to use because she worked during the day; Ellie does same thing jili
in the kitchen...

I bet he is -- awwwww again!
we have a HUGE kitchen

are you goings to sleep in the kitchen too, ruru?

The trick will be getting him to sleep alone in the crate .. we have a separate bedroom set up for Dylan and me so that we don't distrub mrs ru's sleep

that's the plan, flosey :)
good
Christine, I don't think I'll turn Oprah on just now -- trying to get to bed at a reasonable hour.
I guess I missed the news - turned on the television and there she was. I'm not much of a fam of her show.
May I please have a clue for ae5-10? Thanks

I never take my tr down.... it is so old I have to label it for guests

I better go and get ready for the day. BR, I am sorry if I offended you. My mind works in peculiar ways.........
back
Seems everyone has gone??
hi Chris, it is a quiet time
Bad Lynxxx, shortening my name. How's the weather in your part of the world?
gd morning everybody
Just lovely, the Summer has been good so far - only a few stinking days and quite a bit of rain. You have floods near you I hear
Good morning/evening all.
Hi Ruby
morning Haz
Good morning - I think Lynxxx and I are the only ones here. It was very busy a while ago.
Hallo Haz1558
Lynxxx - didn't mean to offend, I just hate the name Chris.
Hello! And just call me haz!
my day is officially starting, dressed at last! that's the hard part
No, not hate, jsut don't like it. I have trouble abreviating anyone's name, because I don't like to have mine shortened.
well mine is Lynette - but please do NOT call me that
Olay, luv - still on speaking terms?
of course, but can't promise I'll remember not to abbrev...too many Babblers with long names and I am no Min a.k.a. speed typist
phantom: reiterated
I don't even use my real name, which I don't like, preferinig all my (many) nicknames....lol
Hello everyone! Lynxxx you can call me Wendy
we'll just call you Passionfruit. Did you buy one and try it?
hi Wendy...lol, another name I won't remember - sorry
that's ok. How's the weather in Melbourne?
my fusband said there eweren't any, but as he refuses to wear his reading glasses, he probably just didn't see them. Still, it's better than doing the shopping myself -- lazy nel!
tear
Lovely. What a cute dog - what sort is he?
sorry, pb for this sleepy (lazy) head!
why doesn't stere exist? it's certainly a common word for quantity of wood!
The answer is invariably - enable, the dictionary.
enable, the strange
but that isn't in the grid Ruby, no T ne** the S
aaah, sorry for being a grouch!
we know, it's too early for you yet!
Scrub my last post. The answer is ei6/21 enable or that it's not in the grid.
Haz, do you like my new
my new icon, thought you would appreciate it
It's very good! The British version during the war was 'careless talk costs lives', but the Russian one can be used all the time. I like it!
I need to blow that up and hang it in my kitchen!
Have you got a whole series of icons coming up for us, lyn? Wisdom from the past for the present kind of thing.
or maybe blow up the kitchen....
No, blowing up kitchens is messy.
no, I just bought some posters/pictures from Allposters so I get emails from them constantly with 'deals'. Love wading through their stuff - including war propaganda posters
They are fun to look at now, but I suppose during the war they would have been a constant reminder that life wasn't normal.
Okay, nice grid today, but I must press on with my chores. My little car has to go into the garage today for a pre-MOT check on Friday, so I have it to tidy as well as the house.
what is a pre-MOT?
MOT stands for Ministry of Transport. All cars over 4 years old have to have an annual inspection to make sure that they're roadworthy. I normally put the car into the garage for a check over beforehand to make sure that it will pass.
It's a pretty thorough inspection and kind of gives peace of mind for a while, and, of course, brings in a nice source of revenue for the government!
wow, hope that doesn't cost much
Even if you fail on a tiny thing like a light bulb missing or something, you have to pay for another test where they will check that the bulb is replaced. It's about £35 but of course you have to pay the garage for the pre-check as well.
I do such a low mileage that there's rarely a great deal to be done.
I think that would make me get rid of my car if they did it here.
BBS having some dinner
I think it started off with cars over 6 or 7 years old but they've gradually been bringing it down. It's probably a good idea overall, since it avoids people driving death-traps.
See you later, lynxxx.
*gone*
bye haz
hi all
hi ardilla
how's the grid?
always hard for me, but nice anyway, you'll probably finish in 1/2 hour!! lol
don't think i'll finish this time...quite tired...didn't even finish dinner
this is better than eating
:P
see you later
later ruby
bye with 159 left
my first word is we***, not a good omen for the day....hmmmm
good morning, red!
Hi all, just dropping in to check out the grid, actually going to work this morning...
have a good day at work, then!
Bye all, Fireworks. Back to bed at 5:20 a.m.

Hello, oodle, how's you welcome mat?
hello oodle
hello BR
He, ruby
hi BR my wecome mat is out on the front porch wecoming people as they come in... how is yours... Salut ruby comment ca va?
(lives in an apt...ahem)
mine us on hiatus
here, too, but it's the wrong season here unless you're a skiier!
grey, intermittently rainy, raw
ew... IT IS NOT SPRING YET
fortunately, spring here is a marvel and lasts very long
well if it is raw then you should cook it, then it wouldn't be so raw eh?
but but but it's not even february
good idea!
:D
The Cremation of Sam McGee: "Talk of your cold! through the parka’s fold it stabbed like a driven nail."
ruby, what city are you in ? I keep on thinking it is on the coast but you didn't say you were in Normadie ou Britagne.. uh nice image in the morning BR
no, I'm on the other side, v close to Annecy, basically between Lyon (to the SW) and Geneva (straight north). Mountains on one side, lake on the other
it couldn't be prettier!
town is veyrier du lac, on the east side of lake annecy (google Earth does a good job of showing the local geography; you can almost see my house! lol)
ohhhh I thoughted so... silly me...*takes the banana out of his mouth*
are you in facebook, oodle, there are some pix of the house and garden in there
wow ruby you are right by a lake, near the mountains... I am jealous. No fair :-( ;-) ok if you are on FB my email is oodles_o_berries@yahoo.com
good morning everyone
I'll friend you oodle, but it will say nancy kelley, lol, a ruby by any name
hi cross
good morning cross
you have me addicted to your baked cheese combo, cross!
ohhh nice irish name
i knew you would love it;))
ok i will check, ruby... about what are you speaking cross... love what and who
ohhhh DUH
cross gave a suggestion for baking mixed cheese just like that, even without bread, and it's wonderful
if course you have to eat nothing but tofu and bean sprouts for the rest of the week to make up for eating it;))
no, I don't have that problem -- very small and skinny
not fair at all ruby not fair *cries in the corner*
yes, but you don't look like a chicken.....
me?
then might i suggest adding some cheese bake to a bacon weave sammich?
uh you don't want to see a RECENT pic of me, ruby
I did not know chickens had a peculiar way of looking
but can't get good bacon here
;(
ok I'm confuzzled
it's the red feathers....no, it's the wrinkles
i live my life based on the geographic location of good bacon;))
damn FB gets me so frustrated...
crossy does not do fb for that very reason
Hello all!
that and the first time i tried fb,every single low life i had ever known was trying to contact me..lol they must spend all day typing in names from their past
howdy nonnie
hiya crossy
done, oodle
ni nonnie nonnie
ok
hiya ruby :o)
I got you ruby
there are so many people with my name (and it is not my maiden name) that I didn't have that problem!
hi nonnie
and oodle :o)
what problem
my name while not unique is scarce when not used as a name of a town or city
where who why when LEMME AT 'IM slowly I turn step by step inch by inch....
easy oodles;))
niagra falls!
even as "youth" I can concede that facebook is a waste of time
no strange ones coming out of the blue
it has its good point, especially for sharing photos
just dont use your real name unless it is a common one nancyboy
so cross you said 14 loonies a litre for maple syrup eh?
about that oodles
for the good grade a stuff
I need two for nbt. A j word and then a word from the e below the j. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to feel like I accomplished *something* thing morning...
speaking of time, see you all later!
NB, ei4/5 duck
I couldn't find any j words
I saw in the store up a dollar from last. 12.99$ for 750 ml
bye bye ruby.
morning, all :-)
aww ruby... bbye ;(
ty une!
bye, ruby -- enjoyed lurking and reading about your lovely town!
have to watch your not buying last years stock
My name is distinctly uncommon, Crossy ;) when I was on facebook, it was crazy...I couldn't keep up with it. Apparently I'm quite famous. Sooo many people I didn't know, thinking they knew me
yw nonnie :-)
but that is Quebec for you .. they want to gouge you for everything you have
tks uneaix, that was hiding in plain sight
i ran into the same thing nb
had to uninstall it after a week
maple syrup here costs about $10 for 25cl!
apparently the description of 'friend' is quite loose on facebook ;) lots of people just recognized me from seeing me around. I'm quite difficult to miss..
now you can add another name by which people will recognize you nb
ahah, uneaix, happy to share!! but how about a j word? lol
like a nickname, oodle?
yes sir
isn't nancy boy already a nickname?
not just a nickname but a state of mind ;)
ruby dear that is not his real name
that was my mistake,i used my real name on the thing
*is quickly getting confuzzled
Names, names, names. I have two first names anyway! Don't know which I'd call my real one..
oh I did too cross cause it said USE YOUR REAL NAME... uh doh
I like having nicknames; different friends call me different names lol
bye for now
see you later, ruby :)
I've used my real name and haven't had any problems on fb. I guess getting old does have some benefits! :o)
bbye ruby ty for the friend in fb
bye bye again ruby.
old? how old is old
i swear i had 50 people a day hitting off me on fb;(
If I joined fb again, I'd use my korean name, since less people know me by that. Otherwise I get embarrassed...lots of people seem to know me, but I don't know them
gray-haired lady old :o)
I'm old to someone 25
so you don't have fb account any longer cross?
no i do not oodles
I'm sorry I won't do it again :(
did you accept them all, crossy? that was my mistake. I got to around 3500 friends, realized it was ridiculous, and deleted my account
thing was hard to uninstall as well..pain in the arse all the way round
3500??? for goodness sake!
i am older than you nb and have less patience, got to 200 and had enough
well I am 50 and I feel old but that's because I don't get out and exersise and eat too much... sometimes I binge but not helpful when you don,t have someone local to talk to
you should have just kept with NB
Oh Nonnie I'm FAMOUS ;)
are you on tv or in the movies NB?
ahhahahaa---I guess so!
No, Oodle, I kid :) I'm just a bit of a party animal. I like to be everywhere at once and surrounded by people, so I get to know lots of people...it sort of snowballs
oh...I am the opposite
are you the sort for deep friendships and the like? mine tend to be ohhh-so-slightly superficial..
im am like you now oodles, ive been in customer service so long that i cannot wait to get away from people at the end of the day
nb, I like the song you quoted in your profile here...matter of fact, I was just listening to that the other day!
Although I like people and I like talking to them but if it is too crowded I leave ie: at the malls
isn't it lovely, Nonnie! I love all sorts of music but only got into Neil Young relatively recently...love him though!
well I guess we are transitioning to what the other was
i have long time friends, well thats the difference tween men and women eh? lol a man can meet a friend once every five years, beat each other up,get drunk together and agree to do it again in 5 years...a womans best friend can often be someone she met in the bathroom 20 minutes ago hehe...crossy waits for the wife to give him a back hand...
I've enjoyed his music since I was a youngen :o)
cross your life seems so violent... I hope youa re joking
I finally got the chance to see him live at Glastonbury this year :) although I frustrated myself to tears trying to see both him and Bruce Springsteen...!
luckily Springsteen overrun so I got him too. in his words, "it's not curfew time, it's boss time!" sadly for his management, it was in fact curfew time. Hefty fine because of that!
wow, what, they were giving concerts the same day??
Was it a good concert and worth the effort?
same day, same time, Oodle! at glastonbury rock festival...they were only a stage or so apart!
Definitely, Nonnie :) both were terrific! I spent my summer festival-hopping this year...saw some terrific bands
lol oodles,my like is pertty calm now(other than issues of raising a 15 year old) my motto is "serenity now!"
life
oh wow, it's at those times you wish you could split your body up eh
15 year old and serenity? I didn't think the two mixed! :o) Bless you crossy.
Definitely, Oodle...I was running around like a mad thing! Luckily I have friends in high places...literally, high places, as in the lighting tower, so I was never troubled by not seeing...a quick word and I was allowed to hot-foot it up there. Majestic!
i said i TRY for serenity..not that i get there much
ew hights... I'm afraid of hights
although they are scarily rickety. it's uncanny when one's seat sways in the wind!
omg I could not do that
Gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it!
ok would someone be so kind as to clue me on one or two of the J words please
spending the summer chasing big bands ..hehe i think the last one i saw was either nazerith or burton cummings..cant remember which
well you must not be as afradi of hights as I ... I couldn,t do it at all
I'm not fond of heights myself...worth it though :)
Yes please...a j word would make my day!
ok what is the ingredients to make your day nonnie :D
Our children surprised up with tickets to Billy Joel and Elton John for our 30th wedding anniversary. Sadly, Elton John was ill and the show was canceled. :o(
Today? a j word will do it!
Oh Nonnie, that's such a shame! When they cancel shows, it's horrible, because even if they reimburse you the cost of the ticket, they can't give back the expectation and the excitement!
well *&?( it rained
I know...I was really looking forward to reliving my youth and with my best friend. One of our first dates was a Billy Joel concert. Oh well, we still have our memories and now our ipods!
from -5 to 6 tonight... this is redikolus
iPods are the most glorious invention known to man. I keep it like my mobile...surgically attached to my hip
*sighs*
Oodle, that's still freeezing! Love the snow but hate the cold :)
It amazes me that this itty bitty little thing contains 1000s of songs and I have them all available at the touch of a button.
Paging doctor Mac, paging doctor Mac, please report to iPod surgeory immediately... paging doctor Mac
lol oodle
funny though...for something so expensive, if they break, you go to the genius bar and they give them away like water. Mine froze and without a word, the staff there just slid a new one over the desk at me..
oh wow but isn't it under warrenty?
Genius bar?
amy one know the J words please... it would make nonnie's and my day please
Guess so, Oodle :) but they were so blase about it! amazing
The Genius Bar is where you go to take apple products to be fixed :) since they're so different from everything else!
hmmm...never heard of Genius Bar before.
nancy, I am hanging on every word you are saying! My ipod went to heaven last week, and I have been agonizing over how to afford a new one....how old was yours? Mine is probably 2 or 3 years old. Do you think they would do the same in that case?
and good morning, babble friends!
hi trif
Hello Trif!
mine was less than a year old, which is probably why they didn't bother to try and fix it, but it's always worth bringing it in for them to have a look at, Trif! It's free and a lot of the time they can work miracles :)
hi! trying to hit nbt before work....
je + divest
je + moses' basket
thanks, nance....will have to give it a shot. I am despondent without it.Funny how quickly we get entitled to something we didn't know existed two years ago, isn't it?

je + re4/5
or je + get *** of something (throw it out)
I need to get one of those. I bought a new (used) car, and it doesn't have a place to plug in an ipod, nor a tape deck, so I bought one of those radio transmitter things, that are supposed to work, but alas, not much luck with it, but it does work sometimes....
ok nbt
did you get them?
oh my GOD the cat. BRB!
wtg oodle
moses' basket is not simply a re4
*wonders what it is about snogging me that reminds NB of his cat...*

hi heo, trif et al.
hi eva and peri
supposed to go up to 62 degress F today tho
hey there Annie
well it is 41 here now when just last night it was 21
brb
Yes, but we usually have a few feet of snow on the ground by the end of December. The ski areas aren't going to be happy with this week's weather. They can't even make snow when it's this warm.
is say 50% less that normal atm eva,but there is lots ofm winter left yet:(
we were just saying the other day how this hasn't been a "snowy" winter in terms of number of falls, but the stuff we have has stayed on the ground for ever, and now it is soooooo old and ti5 looking, it's gross. Not to mention the huge piles of snow/sand in mall parking lots that will still be around in june
well I hope it freezes up for the winter carnival... I want to git pics
I know....I think I get selective amnesia about how long the winter is going to be. Otherwise Id have to move. I have a neighbor, oodle, who's headed up your way to skate on the canal.
lol want to skate? step out my back door;/
i cant ice skat to save my life
I went out with my yaktraks on this morning, expecting to find the penguin luge run, but there is still plenty of texture left on the driveway.
hello...i hear VanCouver has to make snow for the olympics
the winds are really picking up now
hi paheton

I guess I have been using that word wrong for the past 6 years
hi, Peri! :)
my friench really stinks at times
crimeny
is she ok?
yw hego
ok ae7 8 please?
6 7 rather
peri, Thanks. I will look later. I made a bean and barley soup yesterday from a package and I thought there was not enough salt in the soup so I add french gray sea salt and it became so salty I threw it out. Anyone have any clues how to "unsalt" a dish?
I gave her a good look over...one of her ears looks a little chewed :/ she's alright though, I think. Just a bit disgruntled. She hates to lose.
ae...****e she goes walking down the street...singing do wah diddy
I have a nice big scratch for getting in the middle of them though :)
should have put potatoes in it annie
Put a raw potato in the soup, Annie, it will take away some of the saltiness.
penible-just looked it up and it is painful, difficult, and when applied to a person, which could include MOther Nature, tiresome. I think you used it correctly.
{{{Annie}}} put an uncooked, peeled potato in the soup, that is suppose to help
Haz!
Hiya haz
If three people give the same advice, you know you've cracked it!
Hello all, hello hego!
great minds think alike
Hi Haz, Hego, Nancy, Eva, Crossy, Oodle and all lurkers
hi mom
Morning all...was lurking and was also going to suggest the potato
any one have a J clue?
Hi mom

Hi Sea
Hi mom :)
Go Eva!
je + a clarinet uses a re 4/5
ty Mom
and more so for the 7
Hi Haz, Mom, Thank you for the potato solution. I thought it was a potato that would solve the situation with the soup but was not sure. I knew I could get the help I needed he4.
thanks mom. would never have found that. have to look up the meaning.
Mom's always know the right answer :)
you're welcome Phae
re: Mom do you have another name I can call you because I really feel awkward calling you Mom as I only have one... please dont take offence
still looking for 7's
Hi hego...we are having a torrential downpour here after a night of high winds
Haz, I did 3 loads of laundry yesterday, also cleaning the upstairs bathroom. Jut thought you would like to know :)
Hello, Annie, you'll know for sure for the next time.

I'm thrilled to know that, peri. I should be cleaning myself but have allowed babble to distract me for a bit.
I think the rains has stopped here, or at least slowed down

not to worry, Eva. that is why I announced it. it dos not happen often
the other J is je + to toss something out is to get *** of it
ty Mom
Do you not share a cleaning rota with your other housemates?
ty mom. for the 7
the kitchen floor needs to be mopped and the cat litter lbox needs to be thoroughly cleaned but I need to babble first :)
today my chores are cleaning the bathrooms and ironing.
you are so welcome Hego
Back to the potato solution. If I ever oversalt again, when I add a raw potato do I cook it for a while?
yup
Yes, cook the potato until it's no longer raw.
yes, Haz, they do help but 2 of them work. I am retired :)
Mine is to git my life organized so I am not so messy
Fair enough, if you're at home more it makes sense for you to do a bit more of the chores, peri.
Thanks!
but little bit at a time and I will be 'whipped' into shape
thinking of making lentil soup for dinner
how many housemates do you have Peri?
Oh?
Oodle
emphasis on *a bit more*
3 Mom
oodle...who;s doing the whipping?
have you heard of red lentils, peri? My favorite... not as 'tough' as regular
do you cook for everyone?
yeah
Yes, a bit.
I am ... self flagulation
I have oddle, but never cooked with them, usually use brown
hee he ehe ehe hee hee heeh ee

I did cook for everyone when I first moved here but there were too many neg comments and everyone has likes/dislikes or dietery restrictions. I just gave up
Hi SeaSpray and Ata
I shared a flat (apartment) with other girls while at university, but we were very democratic with rotas etc. And honestly, it wasn't just me being a control freak!
Hi Mom
Well, look who flopped in...Hi Atalante
HI Ata
Hello, Ata.
probably for the best then, Peri to just cook for your self
Hi, Ata
hi all
we just lived on toasted sandwiches at uni :)
Hello, jmc.
Hi JMC
everyone does eat the veg. lasagna that I make. there is a place not far from me that makes the best marinara sauce
hi jmc
Haz, I never pictures you being the control freak type
Hi Jmcnrick
my daughters fiance always makes a comment on my cooking, but I don't see him offering to cook
I cook mostly for myself. we seldom eat together.
same here SeaSpray.
I am, just the slightest wee bit, especially when it comes to cooking. People can talk to me while I'm cooking, just don't ask to be given a job to do.
lol SeaSpray.
peri, are your housemates easy to get along with?
anyone have a good recipe for turkey meatloaf
I am with you about that, Haz
of course that is after he has eaten 3 plates full
Annie, they are actually family. I had originally planned to move in with 2 friends but that did not work out. So I live with my sister, her husband and his mom. It has been ok so far. Would love to have my own place again
the first group house i lived in i was the only woman so it took a bit for the guys to understand i was not the live in maid
LOL SeaSpray. don't you just want to smack him
oh yeah!
Peri, there is a meatloaf recipe in my bio, I wonder if you could just substitute the turkey for the ground beef. The recipe is delicious
peri I do but will have to send it later. Where should I send it?
I could try that, Mom, thanks
I know they would eat that
my e-mail addy is in my profile, I think. let me check.
turkey tends to be drier than ground beef -- you would need to and some fat
Eva, please send me the turkey meatloaf recipe too? Send to Astern@aol.com. Thanks!
as much as I would like to sit here and visit, I do need to get busy. {{Hugs}} to all of you.
bye mom
Bye, Mom, nice to see you.
jmc, that was my complaint about turkey meatloaf too.
and you as well Haz. Bye for now
Bye {{{Mom}}}
bye bye Jmcnrick
my e-mal is: oneshell@verizon.net. thanks Eva
{{Annie}} bye bye
bye mom
bye bye Hego
Just printed the meatloaf recipe Mom, ty, am definitely going to try it and not offer to future son in law lol
Good afternoon all.......
annie the lower fat can be compensated for but i was just suggesting that taking a beef meatloaf recipe and substituting turkey would not work
could I get a clue on the ae's? pls
:)
hi cait
Hi Cait
Hello, caitlyn, how are you?
hello caitlyn
ae5/10 - eagle's nest, ae6 a plus an old-fashioned anaesthetic and its plural ae7.
hi Cait!
Im fine thanks just recovering from a busy weekend
jmc, I see. I am going to try to make meatloaf with turkey. It does not sound appealing but I am willing to try.
Ata I cant play TM any more, the games will not load more than 57%
just add some oil or butter to it
hi caitlyn
ty haz
ty Haz
i use ground turkey a lot
Thanks, jmc. Will do.
what about adding tomato sauce, jmc?
noooooooo!!!!
would I still have to add oil or butter?
You're welcome.
Hi oodle, Haz Ata,Annie , Hego and anyone else I have missed.
the dryness in the turkey is due to a lack of fat
I see, ok, will add oil or butter then
*waves at cait*
welcome to the Food Network. :-)
lol lots of good food advice here
:-)
Can I tell you a story (true) about the misuse of et5/12?
Please do, Hazel
sure
good morning all
please do!
not sure who wanted the pumpkin recipe here. have not posted it in my profile yet but will do so before the end of the month.
hi jm
I know Ata its terrible, I have contacted the makers of the game but they havent answered. So sorry jmc (waving back) you were hiding when I came in LOL
*pumpkin bread recipe*
Okay, talk amongst yourselves while I write out the story of Draperstown and the great et5/12 addiction.
adhere
Morning jmb
Uh oh!
sorry all
it's the foil cap -- sometimes it makes me invisable

good clue...coffee in the PB..off you go>>>>>>
bbs
awful awful
just the word i needed for for nbt jm!
Doing some family research, I came across this story. In the 19th century there was a huge temperance movement, and one of those who signed the pledge was the GP in Draperstown. He had been an alcoholic and found it very difficult to give up the booze. However, he had signed the pledge and decided that he would stick to it.
He thought long and hard about what he could use to replace booze and remembered that et5/12 gave a pleasant kind of feeling. He started to use it and got addicted. Soon the rest of the town was using it.
The advantage was that it was cheap, there was no hangover and if you were caught 'under the influence'. by the time they'd got you to the police station, you'd sobered up.
Things got to such a pitch that the whole town smelled heavily of et5/12.
wow
I think I would rather have Barcardi though
Other towns followed suit and eventually they had to declare it illegal and make it impossible to import in vast quantities.
the hangover is worth the taste
was this in UK or the states Haz
that is an interesting story haz
Draperstown was the centre of the problem, and it mostly stayed in the north of Ireland.
Reminds me of the book "Cider House Rules"
oh you said that ss
Interesting story.
That is interesting Haz
I had no clue about the whole thing until I was doing some family history. It's quite funny, but the poor old doctor, if he'd only realised what he was unleashing.
so where were your ancestors in all this?
They were standing with arms fold in disapproval.
LOL
was preferred in some ways, and especially among the poor, to the now-expensive whiskey. The drunk was quick and cheap, and could be achieved several times a day without hangover. If arrested for drunkenness, the offender would be sober by the time the police station was reached." 15
(that should have had et5/12 at the beginning)
So, now you know! Here endeth the history lesson.
sounds ideal
*sips ginger tea for jack hangover*
Which century did this happen in Haz?
we7 please
are all the w words we except the suitor?
This was late 19th century, use eventually dying out in the 1920s.
Hazards included death from overdosage, gastritis and fatal burns incurred by smoking while drinking.
Isnt it strange the things you can unearth.
may I have a clue for the we7 please
I know! I love these sort of quirky stories.
we7 - comparatively strange.
goodness gracious it is 60 degrees here!
we7 is more of the 5

they are in guiniess so many times i cannot count them all
son and grandson
the son is more into research but yes, they are still in the game
the legacy lives on.
"research" Jean Michel heads a research organisation but it's not the most scientific rigorously. Phillippe is a film producer
indeed
Fabien presents TV shows - J-M's son
hi fm! hi ata!
my Mum and Dad met JAcque in a resturant in the south of France back in the 60s and ended up joining his table for dinner. Dad was a keen suber diver so I guess that made the intro.
Hey TO, how are you?
WOW
fine, and you?
this generation will not have the weekly wonder that we did. I know alot is available on discovery, but back then there wasn't anything else to watch so they had a captive audience, and converted so many people into caring
waiting for spring but otherwise doing fine :)
they were so naughty though. some of the things Cousteau did really weren't - um -- the best
i am waiting for this by to decide our weather for today.
sorry, BAY
our weather hasn't been to bad today, didn't rain or snow and no frost - even saw a few blue bits so not complaining.
time to go back to work. happy babbling to all
no, but we didnt know any better - I have memories of him holding coral, and today you would be roasted alive
see you TO
I tired Hobbit out so badly this morning that she didn't even notice that I went out for 2 hours. She was fast asleep when I left, adn fast asleep when I got back
awe bye TO :(
and sea sponges,we had some of those once
How long a walk did you take her out for Ata?
no, we didn't ... but he was still very gung-ho compared to other conservation people of the time
and that ship they use with the vacuum on it,they filter the sand for treasure but turn the whole area milky with dirt
only about hour and quarter, but she chased phessies for the whole of the time
that still happens, crossy, it's one of the problems of underwater archaeology
mmm boiled pheasants...
lol silly hobbit! But save you from walking miles I guess.
pheasant casserole, roasted pheasant, pheasant with bacon :)
indeed
it was very wet too!
my dad used to hunt pheasants with our minister.I found it very disturbing to salk into the house and see Rev. with a rifle
hi all clue please for re6/33 please?
* walk
*whispers pheasant and rabbilt stew*
hehe
make art again
thanx bethn...!
yvw : )
Ata how far away from yo is the nearest Hobbycraft?
when i was young my da taught me to hunt, was so scared first time out that i did not think before aiming and there was nothing left but wings and a beak...
must open lickety 26 to go and i am bable blind
about 20 minutes
brb
the men in my family all hunted, fished , trapped, girls were not allowed
Which town is it in Ata?
we taught my sister to hunt, she did not like the guns so we showed her how to set up a old fasioned snare line..wisely they are no longer used
maidstone
there's also one in ramsgate
well, I didn't get the dog...
awww :(:(:(
i didn't want to actually shoot anything, just wanted the invite
i'm sorry kje
ah ok I am now quite a few miles away from the nearest one, was thinking about us getting together for a visit and combining a viti to a store too?
Hi kje!
they called this morning ans asked if I was still interested, and I said yes. They said the other family had changed their mind... the dad said they already had enough dogs and didn't want another, so I could come get her.
ooooooo
:)
so you can have her?
then about 20 minutes later, they called back and said the other family changed their mind and want her, and they feel puppies should go to families with children so they were going to give her to them
oh ffs!
that really sucks
Oh what a shame.
hi all! sorry to hear that kje
now, does that make sense? to put a dog in a home where the parents are disagreeing re: whether they need another dog or not? clearly, the lady at the shelter has a strong bias against puppies going to singles... I think I will avoid the shelter in the future and look elsewhere
a lot of times small children poke eyes, pull tails, and are not gentle at all
not particularly sensible ....
i wish you were here kje,we have wonderful shelters all with a no kill policy and they are not so biased
I just hope she doesn't end up back at the shelter in a couple months when the dad doesn't want to feed another mouth... she was much too sweet for that
*stands in corner contemplating what Ata knows about "sensible*
all animals come fixed and with shots and 2 free flea treatment coupons
she quite probably will. I'd make sure that they keep your phone number in case of that adn in case you haven't found another
lol EvaN
I siphoned some from FM :)
i will just look elsewhere, cross... I do not think this was a shelter policy, but rather just a crazy lady in charge
ahh i see
wow I've never heard of such a policy at shelters!
sound like discrimination to me...
as I said robbie, I doubt it is a shelter policy, but rather the bias of the girl who I was talking to... she was young, and clearly had some strongly held views
clues please for the re6/18..7/28 combo please?
methinks her manager needs to know...
was just thinking that eva
I'm not positive, but I think she IS the manager... the other 2 older ladies I saw their appeared to be volunteers
to make yr eyes water again and pl Flask
there not their
thanx Mitch!!
the idea is to find homes for them not to be so selective they fill up and can not help other animals
is there an overarching organization they report to?
yw
I debated about going over her head, but have decided it is a waste of time and energy... I'll just avoid them in the future
;(
well, it is a city shelter, so I suspect they report to the city council
may be worth a quick email. if it is government-sponsored (even city government) then discrimination is highly illegal...
if it is a city shelter she has someone to report to
oven timer is going off so that means that beef stew and dumplings are ready. TTFN. Good luck kje!
i would contact my city council member about it
that is what part of their job is
bye FM
brb phone
back :-D
oh jeez. so glad dear fiance listens to his boss, since he doesnt listen to me... dislocated his finger at soccer yesterday + wouldnt go to a doctor for it (the guys "pulled it back into place" for him). despite it being seriously bruised and swolled, and his being in severe pain, my suggestion of heading to the Dr or ER was brushed off. as soon as boss-man says something, it makes sense. :X
guys don't want to appear weak to other guys.
none of the other guys wouldve known. just very bad timing, as we are moving this weekend -- lots of heavy lifting he needs to do!
awwww Hope your move goes okay
im sure it will be fine. we have plenty of other big strong guys helping. and besides, i wont be there for most of it, so i can pretend everything just magically appeared in the new house. ;)
lol that's the best.
he can direct
back
thanks for the nice thoughts, guys... I just needed to vent. It just really sucked to hear that I got her and then to be told 20 minutes later that they gave her to someone else just because thy had kids... I'll be fine... will just keep looking
that how my wife thinks it gets there as well...magic;))
all we really need to get moved that day is the heavy furniture (aka, anything that needs to go in the moving truck) anything else can wait + go in the cars if need be. thanksully we arent going very far...
my hubby always asks "where do you want it?", and then we try several different locations to get the right spot for things..lol
good luck with your move, eva... I need to get back to work - see you all alter
bye kje sorry about the pup
oh crossy, i know quite well it doesnt work that way -- i had a sleeper sofa dropped on my thigh when i moved in with him. s'what i get for insisting i was strong enough!
oh god! protect me from fold out couch beds!
we used to have one of those!
those and the old chest freezers
the mattress was taken out, and it was still heavy to move!
now anytime we have to replace a piece of furniture i lift the new one first before going ahead and buying it
lol
it left QUITE the bruise. and the hobble.
good idea crossy
Smart Crossy
are there any j clues pls
then pay 25 dollars for them to build it and deliver it;))
Poor Eva
Very smart Crossy!
je + musician lou ****
good morning everyone
hego, what a beautiful rainbow
HI fLOSEY
we are s shrine to ikea lol the whole house can come apart with a single screwdriver;)

TY
ty car
lol cROSSY. gOOD WORK.
oops
no we are in a new phaze,we are slowly replacing all worn out furniture with its antique equivilent.funny, nicely restored/preserved turn of the century items are cheaper than buying new
hi everyone I'm back... hi flosey hi heho
wb oodles
hi oodles
Kiss kiss, oodle.
;-)
hi oodle
Hello everybody :)
i love antiques crossy
clue for wo 5/18 please?
hiya Soodle
hi oodle and soodle
NM! Just found it!
i am *finally* getting dear fiance to part with his old, falling-apart furniture. when his younger brother (who just finished college last year) helped us move last time, even HE commented on how he wouldnt take that junk!
lol Eva
i made the effort to clean out a few drawers in my 2 dressers so that he could use them for his clothes + get rid of his dresser. now, not only will our bedroom have all-matched furniture, but it will feel bigger because a huge piece of furniture will be gone! YAY!
gd evening everybody
ty for the 2 j words
hi ruby
hi ruby... got your request
lol,not even at the altar and the poor guys stuff is flying out the door...hehe
yay
Hi Ruby
Hi Rubes
oodle, now, if you see my wall, you'll see sweet Max boy
i think the only thing left from my single days now is a coffee mug and a can opener
hiya soodle
"POOR" being the operative word -- his furniture looks like he picked it out of the dumpster!
ohhhh hold on
hello hego
Getting rid of guy junk is priority!
;(
what is the other je clue pls
;-)
guys like junk.
je + singer lou
yup
my furniture was all from my old house, so it is less than 10 years old. his stuff is... well, might be older than we are. and he has it all covered in stickers (and god only knows what else) id love to keep his stuff, if he actually had a set of anything or took decent care of it.
imagine! the contents of the pot he4s faster if you turn on the burner
poor sod - he's probably had that stuff for years. Its probably a big part of him. He must be gutted!!!!!!
or je + get ***e of fiance's junk
indeed dachef
though buying new things together can help with that
bloody women. As soon as they come into your life, the first thing they set about doing is getting rid of your stuff. It's all the friends get vetted next!!!
what's wrong with junk?
lol im just teasing you eva
;D
ruby, do you get cherries off of your tree?
that is the next step DC. first, pay for wedding. second, save for house. finally, save for new furniture we BOTH love! (i figure, if he helps pick it out and pay for it, hes more likely to take care of it)
heh, i quite like his friends. :)
my studio is filled with my "junk", years of accumulated stuff and if my husband doesn't like it, he just doesn't have to come inside that room !
and i was wrong,i just found a tea towell that i had also
HAHAHA
I have loads of stuff that other people would call 'junk'. Woe betide the woman who says 'you have to get rid of that'.
husband is neat but doesn't know where anything is; I'm messy but know every piece of paper etc
i was hoping he would have a man cave in the next house, but alas, no extra room. maybe once we finally buy our own place...
lol,sounds like a single man
ruby??
trust me dachef,that wont last
i'm neat and can find everything. he's messy and can find little-to-nothing.
I think I have the heart of a single man!
i have never told him he has to get rid of anything. but when you put his wretched stuff next to mine, even he says "hrm. maybe i should get rid of that..." ;)
lol
yay, he's clueful!
actually, all my'junk' is currently in storage. Right now I have: a laptop, some notebooks, a pen, a suitcase full of laundry, and that is it.
wife and i do enjoy antiquing together though
oodle, were you able to see my Max?
yes, DC -- he CAN be taught!
Dachef!! how are you adjusting to yr new life and LA?
yes but I asked a question about your tree
I was about to ask the same thing.
Good evening HAz!
evening FM and Haz
but max? I see gail's pics but no max
we found a lovely old steamer trunk for the boys room for 15 dollars last week and looks perfect at the foot of his bed;)
Hello dc and all
Hello FM and everyone. Are you famous yet?
hi All who just came in
oh, hello FM. Haven't seen much yet. Been working pretty much non-stop. Nice and sunny tho. Nice views over ocean and all that.
i dunno about anyone else, but im INfamous...
so now if his crap is not haning up or in the trunk, out it goes
oodle, I didn't see the question. Yes, we get cherries but they're no good, sort of big and mushy and tasteless. However, the tree is a glory of the garden when it blossoms, perfect shape, etc
lol EvaN
oh probably a cherry blossom tree eh
we have great red and black currants, two kinds of plums, raspberries, blackberries, apple and quince plus trees that have fruit for the birds
cherry blossom trees do not grow cherries
i love currants :)
I just picked out a bad variety when I planted the garden
yey lets all go scruping round to rubys come the fruit season :)
I make currant jelly and my own creme de cassis
Just had a look at your website, Dachef. I bet if the woman in the pic came to life, you would throw out all your worldly possessions!
at least the japanese ones don't grow cherries
quince makes the a most delicious jelly
sounds lie a plan, FM
best we can do is offer you all the worlds best apples(in season)
sounds good to me, FM!!
and the fruit smells so good that I pick them and keep a bowl of them in the kitchen just for the scent
Soodle: I met the woman whose picture was used for that graphic on Sat. First time I noticed that she had a face.
crossy, do you have gravenstein apples?
we have apples, too, but since we don't spray them, they are wormy and I don't go close!
and who is max ruby? your hubby?
I rest my case, Dachef!!
It does flosey but the quince is so hard to chop. Mum has a qunice tree that frutis prodigiously.
we have so many varieties that tbh i cannot count no more
oodle, in FB there are drawings I made of the quince
we are in the georgian triangle apple belt here
yes FM, they are hard as rocks, but I make it every year
max is the autistic black chow chow, Ruby's brother
bet you were drooling Dachef *grin*
that is a lot of work, flosey!
quince?
I am confuzzled
yes, can you open my wall?
Nope. Fm, I am a gentleman.
yes ruby but well worth it
that confoozled
or disconbobulated
yeah right - I remeber the custard baths!
Named after Quincy, the excitable medical examiner.
I've had conserves of quince which were delicious, but I don't know how to make them
I'd never seen quince in Ontario until I came to BC and they were given to me, we now have our own tree that produces all I can use
lol Haz!
I have a quince tree :)
hahah haz
lol, I use to watch that show Haz
Do you Ata!
all of a sudden the area near me called Quince Orchard makes much more sense...
Anything's possible. He did get worked up, didn't he?
it has beautiful flowers and the fruit can be lovely, but not every year. Some years it's all black and spotty
sure did!
I do!
well there you go EvaN, Babble is a font of eclectic knowledge.
eva, what part of the US?
i used to like columbo, you would think the crook was going to get away, and at the last secone columbo would poke his head back in the dorr and launce "the columbo zinger question" lol
are we all autodidacts??
damn typos
bad typists, but smart lol
Colombo always got his man. Thing was, we always knew from the beginning who the man was, so we could shout happily and point him out to Colombo.
ruby: you can get a good cream for that these days from the docs.
indeed
idiot savant is me
for bad typing or for the black spots on the quince?
I had autodidact once, but then I started to lose my eyesight, so I stopped.
ruby -- i am in MD, just outside of DC
Some of us are worse typists than others (gazing steadily FM-ward)
hokt unn funnix wurkt fir mi
my quince doesn't have black spots *smug*
great area for growing fruit (and everything else)
*La La La, can't hear you and hand over eyes can't see you*
*jealous* ata
i did nanner muffies today;0
nor does our quince, but will just keep fingers crossed
with our without bacon crossy?
raofl, dachef
not bacon this time fm;0
we don't spray anything because of the dogs
:
but the flowers don't mind and they're wonderful
we don't spray anything - no chemicals on the property
and your quince are OK?
yes
lots of our smaller apple farms do not spray but encourage a bat population to keep bugs at bay
Oh my leg has gone to sleep, must go and stretch it for a bit. Good to see you Dachef and do let us know how you are getting on with yr new life! TTFN all
amazing how many bugs a single bat can eat in a night
ruby? who is max?
tc fm
the gardener uses something called "bouillon bordelaise" or something like that, but I have no idea what it is. He saved the tree from dying two years agol
See you later, FM.
thanks FM. Good luck with the leg.
oodle, Max is my younger chow chow. He's 6 and magnificent, but is autistic and extremely shy.
great that you were able to save them ruby
takes too long for new trees to produce
there is a cave on the cliff above the house with bats and, of a summer evening, they visit Ruby and me and circle us repeatedly
they look like black butterflies
bats are great for keeping mosquitos down
and we have no mosquitoes
indeed
awww ok I see him
we seldom see a mosquito
cuter than husband, lol
down to s and r, can anyone help me with se6/21 please, the second one
oops, it's the 3rd one I need
I hv 2 s6's how do you know which is first and which is second?
se6/21 - to burn with anger
one is on the ocean you get mad and the other is on the ocean you see a guy
the one I need follows Now I've se4 everything
I've clued it, I will se6/21 if you don't use my clue.
have both of those ruby, they're 1 and 2
kind lof knife
tytyty haz
You're welcome, flosey.
darn isp is hiccuping on me
s finished
now just the dreaded re words
Need help with re6 33 pls
re6/33 - when an artist was not satisfied....
my last dreaded re word
the artist made another sketch
ty haz and flosey.
ty ty haz and flosey
yw hego
I think I just burned out on re's.
You're welcome.
they can be nasty hego!
man. writing sugary-sappy cards to the ladies i am asking to be my bridesmaids is making my brain hurt...
How's Spangle?
I hate them Flo.
Spangle is splendidly soporific.
:-)
She's had her meal and is a happy dog.
sounds tedious, eva
is there anything to be done for obsessive/compulsive behavior in dogs?
pretty good for a dog.
Eva, can't you just ask them in person?
Max boy is already on Prozac for autism
oh haz ....
Oh Ata..... I feel a story coming..
Ruby, my vet friend gives his dog Xanax.
oh, i can. but i really dont seen them often enough and with moving coming up, we are gonna have a busy few weeks. i wanna make sure i actually have a bridal party before its too late to ask. ;)
great idea; I happen to have some in the house lol
a funny Hobbit thing. For the first time ever, I managed to leave the house for 2 hours and she didn't realise. Got back from walk, she was *exhausted*. She just went *flop*. I snuck back out. Came back, no dog at the door. Crept in ... looked around ... no dog. Or cat. Eventually cat came to say hi, but I had to walk up to my bedroom when Hobbit was fast asleep on the bed still. She just opened a sleepy eye and wiggled a bit
how about a phone call?
hi all....clue please for dr5/14 please?
and if he keeps biting himself, I'll just take some
dr5/14 - d plus a plant that lives by water.
flask, if it started with g it would be someone who wants everything
that is so cute, ata
Hobbit must really have been zonked!
ah!...thanx to you both!
hugely!!
I've never managed to get in the house without waking her before
No problem, Flask
yw Flask
I achieve it occasionally, but not often. She always trots to the door to see if anybody else is coming. I'm not exciting enough, apparently.
ruby, what is your dog doing that is OCDish?
I'll concentrate on the rest of these re words - Haz is the best at clues
he bites big holes in his fur
a discriminating dog
*smug* - poor Ata's clues just get ignored.
they do *sadness*. Even my dog ignores me now LOL
the vets here are hopeless and it's v difficult to explain behaviors in French. I give him Prozac on the recommendation of Temple Grandin who is, herself, autistic
Right Haz - do your stuff. The re 5/16 betweenre4/4 and the re which means to hotten up again....
its sad. i have a weird social anxiety aversion to making phone calls, even to loved ones.
me too, Eva
how about giving a luncheon for those friends
I give up! can't get re6/21, the second one
you are not alone eva
re5/16 - re plus an adjective to describe an athlete or a good looking boy....
my son and my daddy both
i have a dog that licks huge holes in his fur, then keeps on licking through the skin
aha, just got it
the vet says it's a nerve irritation
hunk is in the grid?
re6/21 - re plus what you do to get a manuscript ready for publication.
sounds like the same disorder; it's like nail-biting in humans
Ata - your big chance. Haz's clue just didn't do it for me....
and i was looking for stud jmc
I don't think it's a nerve disorder because the spots vary; for a while he removed most of the hair from his tail
Be very careful about applying human behavioural disorders to dogs. I don't know whether it works, they're different...
mine licks his front legs
what kind of dog?
so i put a long sleeved shirt on him, then he switched to licking the back legs
sounds like a skin problem
greyhound
re5/16 - First letters of one who presides over a football game, not he, not she but **.
so put britches on him too
then take a photo
the prozac has really helped him; he was totally weird when he arrived and now can make eye contact and lets us touch him. He is, however, still afraid of his food bowl and I have to hand-feed him
hahaha
mine already takes phenobarbitol for epilepsy
we've tried all the skin treatments
its the same reason i have yet to show up for a babble meetup. im much more charming over the interwebs. :)
poor pup
Haz Wins!!!
(Thank you Haz)
You're welcome! I'm not normally competitive but when it's clues at stake....
hey i showed up and as you can tell from DC's photo i am much more exuberant over the web
pk: your dog is lucky to have you, many would have given up!
i never once danced naked at the meetup!
dance dance dance
what did I miss? WOW
aw thanks ruby, but he's my heart dog - couldn't possibly give up
they're all dancing!!!
that's him in my profile pic
bbl
that clue about the football game was for the same word as the hunk??????
that's how I feel about our chows. Ruby is my heart dog, but I love Max boy too, in all his helplessness and need
i sort of run a rest home for needy greyhounds
they find me somehow
he's beautiful pk!
he's gooorgeous
ty, i think so too
Slipping out, see you tomorrow!
fireworks, and Thanks Haz for great clues
it's like having a retired thoroughbred
bye haz
Bye Haz, and thanks

bye haz and ruby
Bye Rubes, and Yay FLosey
bye jmc
bye soodle
and also yay flosey
soodle, did your cat really like having that dress on?
Well, I can't say whether he (yes its a he) did or not, but he didn't object. He has quite a wardrobe, courtesy of my 14 year old daughter.
probably embarrassed speechless
didn't expect to finish this grid today! Plumber is here to replace part of our filtration system (we're in the country, on well) and then electrician will come to finish up (whatever??)
;-)
bye Soodle
perhaps the cat just thinks so much of your daughter that he would let her do anything
Dora (yes thats his name) does not 'do' embarrassed. He is the haughtiest, conceited animal on the planet.
lol soodle, that seems to be typical of cats
soodle that is redundant -- he's a cat
:)
exactly jmc, well said\
my cat will come and get me - let me take him to the door, but decides doesn't want to go out until I sit down again!!
Hello all
i open teh door and then count to 3 and then close the door regardless of where the cat is
good morning jilli
hi jill
I wonder is he related to Dora..... Thats just typical of our wretched animal!
Hi Jilli
hello all, back to find some more words

jlli, did you ever have a raccoon or anything else (unwanted) come in?
jilli, did you get the recipe for the spinach balls that was in my profile?
sounds like a good day to make lentil soup, thanks for the idea peri
:)
ack! ihave 128 words to find
yes! Once. I then moved the cat's food to the bathroom at the other end of the house, and put one of those shoe-scraper things that looked like a raccoon on the deck stairs they had used, so they would think it was his territory. Never saw another raccoon.
smart move jilli - didn't think raccoons could be outsmarted
Yes, peri, and thanks. Haven't made them yet because there's only me.
what is a spinach ball?
ok, glad you got it, I removed it today and will put up my recipe for pumpkin bread one of these days
a bal made of spinach, LOL
only 1 left - it is de 7,32 - no help plz -want to find it on my own if possible - just want to know if it is a reasonable word
but what else?
it is made with psinach, butter, stuffing mix and parmesan cheese, delish
hi peri
sounds good, maybe jilli will give me the recipe
I do not have the recipe anymore . did not keep a copy for myself. but jilli has the recipie.
Ata, loved it/
can I say that it is a plural, jmc?
ty peri - that is welcome
dehears
thanks peri, will see jilli tonight, maybe she'll bring it for me if I ask nicely??? right now I bet she's burried in the grid

sadly, no, nobody ever did.
Harry stuck his nose out. :-)
Flask - did you get sorted with the de's?
no....cos' I can't find the de6/21 before them
Soodle are finished too?

Oh dear! I've been searching my piles of paper for that spinach ball recipe and can't find it! Peri -- can you search your memory and re-post it?

Hey UK folks, if you call the US, what prefix do you use?
001
hi Sir Oodle, was away from computer
Like 001-619-555-1212?
that's it torg
Thanks .. I thought that's what it was ..
or you can use skype or vonnage and avoid the whole thing
dr6 24 please
I am making a manual for a UK customer, and they complained that all the telephone numbers won't work from the UK. Apparently they have to told everything ..
*be told
dr6/24 is the Hanukkah toy ..
yep exactly like that
Thanks, torg
well not everyone calls across the pond
ty torg
It's a huge company.
It's mainly a matter of making me jump through hoops to satisfy their massive paperwork regulations.
which company? whisper it :)
i'll close my ears
Costain's
oh god
write everything in 1 syllable words
Exactly ..
they are all thick as bricks. my father worked for their main rival all his life
perhaps they r the wrong kind of engineers
hard to write all words in one . . . . . syllable
hey lawyer
hi, jmc
I think they take the one person in the company who can read English and give them ultimate power, and judge them strictly on the tonnage of paperwork they produce ..
ty tor... wow what word
I love the UK, but I hate dealing with this regulatory madness ..
afternoon all...just passing through (5 more mins of lunch, then back to the grindstone)
costains are particular idiots
They're tops in my book!
My I have a clue for at least 1 of the J's?

id6 21 please
id4.5 and **a or coffee?
ty lyn
kje ... just read back in the chog ... and I am so sorry to hear about you not getting that puppy. I just cannot understand the mentality of that "woman" ... you were so meant to have it.
no prob, mo.... have decided not to worry about things I have no control over.... sad for the puppy, but I will find another
actually, my boss said his daughter just found a lab mix, very sweet, described her and she sounds just like this other... he called her and left a message that he has someone who might be interested, so maybe some other puppy needs a home and it will work out
kje ... I really hope so , there must be one out there for you ... good luck.
i am sure the right pup will come along kje
that sounds great kje .. hope it turns out well.
you really will get the dog you're meant to have
honestly, I was just flabbergasted by the whole thing...just bizarre to think I am an unfit owner for a STRAY because I am single... my colleague and I were just cracking up about it just nw... so absurd
sometimes things are just so out there that it is better just to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all and move on
i still think you should complain -- there are others who will be screwed the same way and the pups will suffer
do all of the fi words come from the same fi4/7 word?
the h's are handed out
will think about it jmc
hello everyone :)
hi nan
the fi5.18 doesn't, rhymes with our panet
"handed out"? LOL - now you are stretching a bit oodle ; )
hi C'nan
hiya nan
wow, r's are a little painful
ty lynxxx
i shudder to think of the Rs since i have read there were millions of re words
we have had more... but for some reason, these seem worse
likely slow brain day...
hmmm most of my days are slow brain days
I think these are slow b/c so many are unrelated, so everyone is new
so kje do i want to know what your icon is?
you see a grouping of 4, 5, 6 and think maybe they are related... but nope
what do you think it is?
a starfish
*looks hopeful*
hmmmm... we may need to send you to a shrink ; )
a scorpion?
I have no idea what it is... it is a florally feathery abstract thing
it looks floralish to me, kje
guess I need a shrink too :)
Hello, all...

Any Brits about?
stidmama, just saw your profile update for the pic. You are beautiful even after 12 hours. What type of debate? I used to be a judge for high school speech, debate, and drama.
just about
we7.48 is strangER
What are neeps and tatties?
never mind- foind it
tatties = potatoes
neeps- turnips?
neeps = swede
They're evidently had with haggis which the US is evidently considering un-banning ..
yep, haggis, neeps and tatties
haggis is banned??
(just realized stid poofed out ... )
Since 1989
how odd!
The BSE thing ..
ohhhhhhh
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/sco tland/8477432.stm
even haggis made in america?
The scary thing is at the very end of the article: "haggis nachos"
ewwwwwwwww
ok, it was a dog, not a cat. but a nice dog :)
Just the imported haggis
yay for a nice dog :)
jes - really random question
do all female staffies / similar have hugely elongated teats?
equally random answer?
teach your horse not to bite!
No kicking penguins
I just saw one today and her teats must have been 2 - 3" long. very odd looking!
oh, sorry... the elongated teats are more related to lactation than breed. in general, the more pups they've had/nursed and the more milk they've made, the bigger the teats will be.
it just always seems to be staffies lol!
ty I assumed that was the case, but didn't know for sure
maybe those are the folks you see who don't desex the dogs?
it can't be comfortble!
buy them sports bras?
Hello all.
looooool NIke for dogs
Maybe that Staffy has read about the latest trend of breastfeeding for 3 years?
hi, michnick
hi Mich
What would a size be? 18ABCC?
heh. i think that's supposed to be the same kid for 3 years though, lynxx. usually with dogs, that means 5 different sets of pups.
maybe! the poor thing really looked deformed (even though I knew it was natural!)
5 sets of a good number of puppies
Hi Lynxx, jes, Ata. Seems I wandered into a very interesting conversation. Don't ask what ladies look after nursing 6 or 7 little ones.
sorry, I totally derailed any sensible conversation there!
OK, New topic!?
sensible coversation! god forbid
nipples aside...I'm back :)
lol hi NB
hi NB!
I always seem to come in to the chog in time to catch the nipple conversations. Howww uncomfortable!
how's the kitty>
oh she's fine thanks, Ata :D she's been babied all evening and is looking much more smug now
excellent!
I see some of the same re words that were in the grid yesterday.
hi, back
she is also doing an excellent job of warming my lap up :) which is more fun than her sitting on the keyboard
wish Sily would learn that one
it's not one of her favourites. it's not as fun as clamouring to go outside and then yowling to come back in, or playing hockey with my toes at four in the morning :)
bed mice games!
Silverclaw is odd. She'll sit on me while I'm lying down. She'll cuddle into my arms while I'm at my laptop - for a few minutes at least. But she will NOT sit on my lap (or anyone's lap)
whyyyy do they do it :) she is lovely though. I can't tell her off.
LOL Ata! cats are just the strangest. It's so hard to believe they don't have some kind of motive to the things they do...
Ata, Zoe-Anne is like that. she will cuddle next to me but will only sit on my lap if I pick her up and put her there
her again to find 30 more words
odd, isn't it? I'm glad there's another cat who won't do laps though
*here*
I am stuck in the re words and not a happy camper
hi nancy boy :)
Hi Jes! :)
how are you?
pretty good, and yourself?
Bye everyone. Australia day today, and being on a Tuesday, means that everyone is having a 4 day weekend
not too bad thanks :) got a letter from home the other day, actually
bye dear! happy australia day!
What is that, Lynxx, independence day?
and...off to look at another dog's eyes. it's an eye day. :)
Hi Nancy Boy--hope this finds you happy, and healthy!
Hi, MP! now is that in regards to the letter, or the greeting? either way I am happy and healthy :) the letter was odd though
hi all
help with re5/16 pls
hi, jmc
NB, was the letter from your dad?
NB both...are you and your partner all moved in and unpacked?
no, Peri :) from my mother and little sister, which was great, because my sis tells me she's coming down for a visit on the hush...wonderful 'cause I miss her to pieces :)
we are indeed, MP! well, Leo was already, since I just moved into his flat :) he's been there about a year. thanks for asking!
good that your mom and sister write and your sister is coming to visit
NM
I know, Jmc, I'm so happy! I've always doted on my little sister...miss her soooo much...ooh, I'm tearing up thinking about it again
*hands NB a hankie*
((((((NB))))))
thank you :) saves me drying my eyes on the cat ;)
thre now, NB, don't you feel better. you got hugs and a hankie
the cat might object -- i know mine does
when is your sister coming to visit,NB?
well i decided to stay at the office for a while until the sleet stops :-(
it just puts her in such a horrible position, you know? if she wants to see me, she has to sneak around behind dad's back...it's all just so unfair. I try and visit her at least once a week.
next weekend, Peri :) can't wait! I'll have to decide how to entertain her best!
14 left and need to take another break, bbs to finish
see you later, Peri :) thanks for the hugs!
bye pero
*peri
hi everyone... making bbq wings... although they are frozen but I can't make them as well ... and fresh wings are so much more expensive than frozen... go figure.
NB great I pray one day your father will find it in his heart to realize sexuality has nothing to do with being a wonderful person or not. He should be grateful that he and your mom created a beautiful human life! Sometimes it takes a while for some people to see reality. I am sorry your little sis has such pressure on her. It will work out I am sure...keep the faith!
amen MP!
he4! he4!
oh thank you, MP! I hope so too...it just makes me so angry at him...when we had the fight that started it all, I told him how sick it was to push his children away when some people want kids so badly but can't have them. He just won't listen, though. But, thank you so much for all the support...you too, Jmc and Oodle :) I could write a book saying thanks to all the babblers!
well i think that if you wrote a book in the chog we would be chastised for hogging the chog
Jmc did you just want to say that :D
:-) a little bit some one came in earlier and was all "y'all talk too much"! lol
yep we don't want to be chog hogs...LOL
yep we don't want to be chog hogs...LOL
well put MP!
LOL! the chog can move amazingly fast. it's amazing that we manage to have civil conversations on here. In real life it wouldn't work - ten or so people shouting at each other!
back again
hi jes
nb ... how popular is spicey food in England(UK)... it is not so here but there are some foods but I don,t think as much as the states but maybe I don,t know. My neighber are québecois and they don,t like it so I assume that it is a québecois thing
i think it is fun when th5 are multiple conversations and some people are engaged in several of them at one time
never could do that in real life
*reads back through the chog* Glad you will get to see your sister soon, nb!
the further north you go in the americas the less spicy
jmc they do it all the time here... gets me so frustrated
sorry oods but i get a kick out of it!
It's pretty popular here, Oodle...everyone loves a good curry...and especially amongst the youth, it sort of fits in with a bone-headed display of manhood, like "look at me down this madras without drinking any water, rawwwwr!"
water doesn't help anyway
I am in Killington vermont and a friend of ours who lives here took us to the neatest place for lunch...it's a commune and everthing is homemade and deelish...they made all the furniture themselves from huge logs etc...decorated with wildflowers...reminds me of the 60's...I had a wonderful drink lemon mate' a brazillian herbal tea loaded with antioxidents and such
well in english it might not be so bad but with not understanding accents and such it makes it very hard to even follow one conversation let alone 3 or 4
tea or alcohol
did the bad weather stop MP?
just spreads it around your mouth, right? apparently a spoonful of cream or sugar is better...I'll believe it!
omg nb ok...
well the lack of accents in the chog does help oodle although sometimes there are word confusions
the tannin in tea helps the best NB
too much, Oodle? ;)
yes like if you say to the british I am really pissed
chai is the way to go..tea + cream :)
sounds tasty MP was it all veggie?
It's in the same pattern as "look how much I can drink without chundering" or "look how many times you can punch my arm without it going dead". Reeeally stupid stuff.
are you angry, or drunk, oods?
no I forgot you have ties with india... DUH my bad
in brit that means drunk, no?
exackatackally jes
oh really, Jmc? learn something new every day :)
no alcohol in it...healthy tea...will help my cold...and the weather is improving a bit...I'm sure it will be sunny tomorrow...
in britain it means drunk or angry. teaching this expression to my korean cousins = hilarious
when I am pissed I am angry but I would never say it anyway the Uk way I never do
i hope so MP you want to get your skiing in!
that's hard to teach foreignersz
and it also means something else too
morning everyone
hi berri
hi berri
my korean is pretty awful though, so I can't really laugh
hi jmc
hi, berri
hi jesdraggon
since it is an herbal tea it may not contain tannins...they said it was wonderful for me...on jmc I can't ski anymore...had a terrible skiing accident back in the 80's...lucky to be walking...wonderful ortho doc...seldom a bother from it...plus I put on mucho pounds during my two year recovery I am trying to take it off...again...it's a yo-yo world...
when I was young dumb and stupid I went on holiday to England when I was studying in france... I stayed in abingdon which was very close to london. I never went... hence dumb and stupid... I was waiting til my host to ask me if I wanted to go. Stupid kid.
oo too bad MP can you ride the tubes?
very hard to do MP
abingdon! hometown of radiohead ;)
which is...
who is...
a band
the BEST band ;) no, sorry. I love them so much. Saw them at the Reading festival this summer, hurrah!
oh well this was in dec 80
before you were born NB
okie doke i am heading home. by the time i get to my car the rainy type stuff will be gone
everything was before NB was born ;-)
hee hee
Oodle I read that as '08' at first...I was about to argue passionately :)
bye all
good luck, jmc! try not to get too wet and cold..eurgh!
when were you born btw
bye, jam
1990, Oodle :) so I missed you by a decade!
I am trying to get the last I and last N
and when I was there I just turn 21
it5 please
it5= hit*** and yon
ty jellen
ne6= another word for under...the ne****world
no not veggie...my hubby and I had reubens...but they were not grilled like some totally wonderful...there web site is www.twelvetribes.org interesting group...great chefs...a spiritual experience...so vermont! And I don't do the tubes either ...but there are so many neat little shops up here and galleries...my husband is a great skier so he does all the sking for us now...I get to enjoy the apres ski activities! He does well for 67! He is looking forward to free lift tickets at 70! I'm a bit younger. Does this make him a "cougar"?
forgive my typo meant "their"
May I please have a clue for je6-36? Thanks.
ne8
Nooo MP, I think a cougar is a woman after a younger man :)
je + woodwind instruments uses the re 4/5
ne 8 not messy + a group of cattle
though when in doubt, urbandictionary
Thanks, Mom.
forgive my lack of manners .... hello everyone
you're welcome Gapeach
ty
you're welcome Oodle
NB...maybe then he is my sugar daddy? *grins*
LOL MP. I'm pretty sure that's something different again! ;)
NB...I sometimes call him my merman...like a mermaid or a pool-boy...LOL
thanks for all the clues
glad I could help Berri
hello all.
well I'm not gonna share what I call Leo ;)
could you please clue the ae words?
Hi {{Red}} how was orientations
NB...I know I just love him so...he's a pretty great guy! I met him when my son was two and he has been a great dad to my son whose own father ignored my darling son.
Berri, I only have two ....ae + the th 5/12 word minus the last letter and plural
that's lovely, MP :) it really restores your faith in mankind when someone can just come along and give everything so easily, when some people can't give anything at all :)
it was excellent, they found a way to move me to day shift, so I am delighted...
2nd ra4 please
that is wonderful, Red.
thanks mom
I am glad you are delighted, H
yes, I am greatly relieved. How are you doing mom?
mortgages are at a low interest ra**
HI BabbleRabble
I am doing just fine, Red.
thanks for asking
don,t believe it
Hello, Mom
ty again
great, and hello BR!
my pleasure Oodle
Howdy, H
off to wash the dishes. Be back in a bit.
NB...I agree..gotta run we're off to dinner! back later
BR how are tricks?
have fun, MP!
cya mom
bye bye Berri
does anyone have the ee5?
spooky, berri
spooky
spooky noise. hi Jes.
hi red :)
hi BR
thanks everyone
Hello, oodle
one more word then I have to clean out the fridge
Oodle, is there a story behind your username? it's quite interesting :)
poo that didn't take nearly long enough
cya everyone, will be back to finish as soon as i can
be well, berri
bye, berri
yes... I was very frustrated because all the names of 60 i tried turned out to be in use and I wanted an original one... I cam to the last tries of noodleberry and doodleberry and I just dropped the n and d and got oodleberry and voila
names of sixty, oodle?
and I didn't want to put anything else on it like numbers
I tried 60 times took me about an hour and a half to come up with it
I wouldn't like to have a number in my username! luckily nobody else was keen on my username...which is fair enough since it effectively says "gayboy over here"
ohhh, I see what you mean! gosh, SIXTY? there are loooads of babblers!
good gracious Oodle, what a pain! which is why I have the name I have...
heeheh. nancy, i've a flaming gay friend who used to have the email address "faggot@seizuremonkey.com"
not too many people competing for that one either
hi and good evening to all of you creative namers, mine is just my initials (ho hum)
hi, jbv :)
LOL Jes! well it saves time when it comes to introductions and the like. I have one of those belts that shows a scrolling message...if I go to a party where I don't know many people, I wear that with the message "gay" on it. It just saves time.
no this was back in 98
hi jbv, no issues...with your name...
mine is a nickname ( and I won't tell where it came from) and my mental age.
heheh. you don't collect girls' numbers just to annoy your straight friends?
Hello, JBV
LOL Mixi!
hello, BR - how are things in your neck of the woods?
Having a blizzard but nothing too abnormal.
dust off the hammock.
bbl
I put the top down on my car today. Great weather. I saw my first robin in my driveway.
the hammock is rocking and rolling big time
snowed here this morning
we had tornado warnings...
LOL Jes! I don't know, I get a lot of attention from girls, being as -obvious- as I am, but there's a lot of really contrived one-dimensional relationships where a girl will come up to me looking for the perfect gay friend. I love women, but my function in life is not as a walking issue of Cosmopolitan ;)
I have a perfect gy friend, so perfect that 3 different people who were unaware of his situation tried to set us up....
hi folks (snowing here)
hah! oh, c'mon, everybody wants a gayboy 'girlfriend'! You could rent yourself out :)
LOL Red!
Hello, welki
yes it was sad, if he was straight... ig only...
it's true Jes, but it can be really uncomfortable! I mean, fair enough, I'm not into girls, but that doesn't mean I am one :) some of the most uncomfortable moments of my life have been times when I've been pulled into changing rooms with girls, stuff like that.
ewww ... that's when women who search out gay men to be their 'friends' become fag hags
there is a difference between being gay and being a girl, indeed.
that's what I mean, Welki! the conventions can be hilarious though :)
conventions?
Well, a lot of the time I'm expected to be a stereotypical girl. When I do something manly, the expressions are priceless. they look at me like I've put on a cape and flown.
heh. funny, i get the same looks when i do something girly... :)
I use to work at a fine retail store in TX where the only straight guys were the guys in the stockroom I went out with some of the guys on the sales staff one night I was never treated more like a woman, car doors opened, doors to the bars we went to opened, lighting my cigarette I have never been treated like this by a straight man!!!
LOL Jes! so you see what I mean then ;)
used to go out with a guy friend (straight, but VERY femme) who always said he'd hide behind us girls if it came to a fight.
LOL Jes! I've got to admit I'm not exactly a warrior...
funny thing is... he ended up in the military
last time i tried to open a door for a woman was at an office building in Toronto, she turned to me and said "i am perfectly able to open my own door thank you,i am not crippled!!" after that i have only opened doors for my wife;/
snippy girl!
i've never been offended if someone opened the door for me. but i'll turn around and open the next one for them ;)
me too Jess....
How nasty, Crossy! it doesn't matter whether you're male or female, it is polite to open a door for somebody else.
never again,my wife gets all the treatment, the rest of what i call femi-nazis can do without
hello all!
hi pippingeek
exactly, nancy
for the record, i open doors for men and women indiscriminately
Hello, pippingeek.
hi br
don't hate me, i just got back from a walk on the beach
good on ya, pip!
Same, Pippin!
don't hate you, but am a little jealous of you ;)
This chat has reminded me why I come here less often.
grrrrrrrr it's pouring down rain here has been for the last 7 hours guess it could be worse if it was snow we would be buried
uh oh. are we annoying you, bab?
what do you mean, br?
im sorry we rubbed your fur the wrong way br
why, what's up, BR?
but i tell it like it is,i get a strip torn off me for opening a door then to heck with her
Quite right, Crossy! personally I think courtesy like that isn't anti-feminist; if anything, it encourages respect for women
oh, what did I miss? I was buried in the grid - enjoying the fireworks
you missed us annoying BR, JBV :/
oooh, well done though!
Hello again and congrats, JBV!!!
im going to poke him with a stick next;)
yay, jbv!
thanks Jellen
well, crossy, you're always welcome to open doors for me :)
and me! ;)
it would be my honor jes;)
Looking back on chat - I agree with whoever said just being kind in general should be enough - anything to do with gender/sex/preferences etc is just irrelevant
gotta go do a blood draw, back shortly
you would think so
k jes;))
well when you get back, knock politely on the door to the chog and we'll all rush to let you in!
ill get the door for her;)))
no, let me!!!!
grr. i hate getting so close and just not seeing the words that are left!
after you, Alphonse....
hehe
i only dislike door-opening when the person gets in my way in the process of trying to open the door
which sadly happens more often than you would think
taking a break for now - see you all later, maybe - good luck with the grid
you must have dazzled him with you visage,so he could not see well
*whistles at Crossy turning up the charm* ;)
Bye, JBV
:)
thats me,crossy the ole honey dripper
How many left, pipping?

One of the best parts of the bird count is actually looking at all the photos...

wow, that is great, red!
the 6 is a plural , berri
Yes, berri
Hey red, we just got back from visiting the mississippi river to look at bald eagles - great fun (but cold)
how had i not already tried that??!!
'cause it's a very odd plural! LOL
yes but there are so many unusual words in this game, I love it though
cool! Good E. I photographed a bald eagel at Merritt Island, but it was out of focus, just enough focus to tell what it was...
man, I can not spell today many apologies.
:-D
apparently there were several hundred eagles around the quad cities 2 years ago but they have dropped to around 200 this year
still very beautiful and impressive birds!

Hi Everybody. How are you all tonight? And how is the grid? (I started this AM before work, so I'm already into the grid)

Heyas kids ..

i'm well, thank you Nef. I 've had a cocktail, and some dinner. How are you?
Heya Trifs
May I please have a clue for tr5-10? Thanks

plant + letter after M
I got home from work about 1/2 hour ago and ate some supper. Would love to have a drink; but I don't tolerate booze! Sure would like to relax a bit though
Thanks much, lbdawger.
nice hot cuppa tea, always settles me, nef
heyas torgone! how are things with you today? did work settle down?
Hi all how is the grid ?
Nef .. Let me try to help -- RELAAAAAAAAAAAX!!!!! .. There .. How's that?
hi diem, grid's not too bad.
Umm, good idea, lbd, I've got some evening in Misoula and a little Montana Gold (I like the evening in Msla better)
hey, torg, being yelled at is very *helpful* ;-)
Work is making me highly stressed right now . . o_0

jewish clay spinning top, tijani
Hi Ibd diving in Sploosh !!!
dredel
ha my bad, whaat
You are ..
alternate spelling there, tijani
Tor, sorry work is so awful
sometimes babble is relaxing, and sometimes it just frustrates me even more....I suppose it depends the frame of mind I bring to it. If you find meditation at all helpful, there are several excellent videos available on youtube, by the way
It will pass ... Or I'll go crazy .. Either way I'm good ..
Tor, want some tea with me?
I am doing relaxing Babble by not worrying about finishing and just hanging out ..
good idea, tor.
Enough about me .. What's everyone else up to?
not much here
getting ready to go back to FT work -- ack!
I'm trying to warm up; we got cold weather again and it is blustery
just babbling here, and trying not to obsess about the kid I am supposed to be helping at work....two hours with him makes me feel I have run a marathon
not much going on in this ol' dawg's life.
hi all
hi jmc

oh dear, jmc!
much nicer when it goes the other way, and suddenly have a windfall
nrkii, you will get back in the swing of full time again real soon. Just don't get too stressed on your days off
Oh noes!
Nef, I am the queen of unstress
en6=18 complete
nbt
i will putter along until i catch up again -- it will be okay -- but it did put me in a bad mood for much of the day

go diem!
i am so glad for you nrkii
wtg diem!
yep seain, I got it... talked my old boss out of offering me what would have been my old miserable job back, and talked the new guy into offering me a job I want to do
jmc, I suppose that was in your personal bank account? OUCH!
ne8 help please?
compound word, tidy up and group of cows
no i wish -- it was while i was balancing the center's accounts i found the bank and i disagreed and went to the bank to find out why

go nrkii!
go nrkii!
I have heard that jmc, that what is written in longhand on a check trumps any number entered
the sad part is that three of us looked at it and came up with the same mistake! :-(
fireworks
Oh, dang! Double OUCH then! Who wrote the check? (Make them make up the difference! ;-)
I did not know that ..
whoo hoo nrkii
Yay nerky!
yep, what you write out longhand is what they use
yay nrkii!

huzzah for nrkii!
YAY, nrkii!!!! WTG!!!
i knew it I just didn't read far enough
oh! It was a donor! That hurts!
WTG Nrk
i bow to you nrkii - i'm not any where close to finishing tonight!
this grid was very nice to me tonight
and i think she meant the written amount because the number was sloppily written and could be read either way once you read the writing
which is good because I'm exhausted
a good start to the week for you nrkii!
~deep breath~ 21 to go!
okay, have to go wrap up my evening and get to bed
happy babbling all

I had a cup of Evening in Missoula, but have switched to a cup of Good Earth this time
(with honey and lemon added for the cold symptoms
good earth is good stuff. mine is not so interesting
i have peppermint, spiced orange, chamomile, or passionflowers that i grew, harvested, and dried myself
what kind do you have? Can you add some honey and lemon to perk it up a bit? Or some cinnamon and cloves?
parents are asleep so no access to the kitchen, so it's with sugar or nothing else
passionflowers? what do they taste like?
just kind of generically green and flower-y -- but they are an excellent neurosedative so good for anxiety and insomnia, or just destressing
se5-16 please. Thanks
not too far from the flavor of chamomile
peach - a sans se*** font
