any list yet?
dylan won't be neutered, will he, ruru?
dylan can'
dylan can't be neutered
in grem's profile, rumple -- no Lickey yet :(
oops have i put my foot in my mouth ruru
so'k andree
he can't be if we show him and possibly save him for stud. He comes from a very, very great line of dogs
what am i missing here, are you going to breed him?
aaah
if he accomplishes all the things we have planned. we will breed him later.
his father was the #1 Golden in California for three years in a row. ant that is saying something with all the competition here
hugo is a half breed like me and so ofcourse had to be neutered
I need help on the di 6/27 if anyone has it.
All of our pet dogs and rescues were all neutered andree.. no shame there. It is healthier for the males to be neutered.
I like the name hugo a lot
I got it..
yeah.. firewurst
named him after hugo in the vicar of dibley
yay ruru
YAY ruru!!!
our breeder will want to breed back to him too andree and jilli. She thinks he is one of the nicest pups she has ever bred.
He was heeling with me tonight on our second round..he is getting the leash thing now
figured that, ruru
the di 6/27 is a tiara like coronety crowny thing
he is really perfect for me...

I found it thank you gort
no worries ru
ty gort

and mine is perfect for me, isn't it nice the lovely feelings dogs bring out in us
kje didn't like my icon story
yw jil
I am a much saner person with my dogs.
I guess she's feeling Texan
I was sooooo lost without my Monty
me too, no matter what , hugo makes me feel calmer
That was so sad, ruru -- kipling said it -- "don'y give your heart to a dog to tear." but we can't help it.
It is proven that your heartrate and sleep patterns are improved with pets
that is pretty much impossible for me .. I am such an animal lover.
sorry about the typos but it hurts my arthritic left shoulder to type today
the last 6 years is the first time i have not had a dog in my whole life and i feel so much calmer now i am a dog ownwer again, not to mention fitter
are you ready to read "Merle's Door" yet, ru?
that's wonderful andree.. what is he a mix of
poodle and spaniel
yes I think so soon jilli. I am reading puppy training books right now.
of course, ruru
that must be a smart dog...
i have just read" raising a puppy' and have started" how to be your dogs best friend" by the monks of new skete
does anyone have a clue for so6 please?

jilli, do you have all the K words? I have a combo and one missing.
I want to go to the apple store and go ner ner at them.
ku 4 sprite
I have one K word, sprite :(
Andree I am glad you didn't get flooded. YAH Hi Sprite.
hey I have become visible :) Thanks ruru.
mine is ke4/8
like pool table sticks with a k
herin have you any idea where Lickety is?
plural and the one ruru clued, jilli
ok, have them all now, ty sprite and ruru
Andree, glad it isn't worse in your area.
No Idea Jill. Andree were is lickety?
no idea herin
btw, gander is a phantom on geese day :(
not fair, is it jilli
not a bit
Andree Have you spoken to them at all I know that you are in their area
herin, mrp was here earlier but seems to have disappeared
only via sms herin
what's sms?
mrp was on a short time ago, said maddie was a lot better
well at least we know there is nothing big amiss then. Lickety will get to it when he feels like it and can spare the time. As long as they are all safe and well.
where is Lickety?
text jilli
sms is text on mobile phone, jilli
i think it does everyone good to miss lickety, sometimes i get the feeling he is taken for granted
oh -- I'm not into txt yet -- pobably never will be
its not as if he gets paid for doing the clues and he doesn't miss many days
andree, Lickety is NEVER taken for granted!
jilli, i hardly text, it takes me ages
I know what you mean, Andree, like they have a right to his work or something like that. I don't use his service much, but I have to admit I like it when there is a list... the chat is better, usually ;)
he is by some jilli
I don't care about the list. I was actually more concerned about Maddie and their family and if they got flooded. I was actually really concerned about their welfare not the silly list
I absolutely depend on Lickety
me too jilli
I like it when there's no Lickety clues - it's more satisfying to solve it (somewhat) on my own.
we know, lady.
herin, we also care about maddie and their well-being. The list is not silly.
What I meant was silly as in silly as in grand scheme of things
grem, you are on a different level from us ordinary mortals who need every crutch to solve the puzzle.
I am one of the old crew, gremlinn, I never use the list, except with very big grids when I cannot find my last few words. The only info we had back then was how many words started with a certain letter, not even from which tile they came... and that only when somebody took the time to post stats. I loved it... but most people who play now would hate it, I am afraid.
sydney does not flood really, the streets with flash floods run off very quickly and you can be really unlucky with low garages or a leaking roof so a lot of damage can ensue
hi and nbt
hi and gratz, josh
Phantom: chouseâ€
and grem, I am extremely grateful to you for your posting of the list
I'm new, but not new to Boggle, so I don't need it if it's not available, but I still need to use it to finish first, if it's available.
mrp's house is on the high side of the street so they would be fine
sorry I am not making sense
jilli, one way isn't better or worse than another. It isn't a shame to need the list, but it also isn't a shame to not need it or want it.
Ideally, it would be great to have Lickety's clues, but not available for the first 2 or 3 hours.
Arrr you would think after 7 years of being with someone I would spell their name right
you do, lady, no worries. The list is good, but not anywhere near as important as the wellbeing of people. Right?
i agree, gremlin i never like to look too early
jilli: no problem, takes less than a minute to put it up
but gremlinn, we have a load of different timezones on babble. So that wouldn't work.
hey isn't goth a word?
Speak for yourself, grem. If there were no list for 2 hours I would not stay here.
nope, but gothite is
Proper noun, Bianca
I'd say yes, Bianca, but probably it needs a capital and is therefore not valid.
oh i see
thanks
its why i don't use expert, i am happy to take the extra time and if i don't finish, well its only a game!!
I don't understand, jilli - you couldn't just start later each day?
I really don't like who himselves mother has got his name all confused
I do use the expert, but only for the brilliant chat/word-add function.
why should someone else other than Dr_God decide what is best for me?
lady, I never liked coffee until very lately, and my mother managed to ask me how I drank my coffee when I came to visit...
What do you mean and Hello BabRab
nobody could, BabbleRabble. Not even drG, I bet. Glad to see you.
sometimes i would love a dose of whatever it is you have been imbibing babble, lol
good morning everybdy. Reading over the chat, I guess I am just too lazy to learn how to use the lists (I've opened them, but have never succeeded in having two screens open at the same time -- computer idiot!), but getting as many words as I can + the clues in chat, is very satisfying, and my ranking creeps up, one point at a time. Also, the chat is what really counts.
people want to impose rules when there are none
morning rubyfoo
HI Ruby
and it feels like you peeps really care for one another!!
Grem, I enjoy being here for the flip and greeting everyone. We all have different ways of enjoying this place, and I like to try for nbt and then get as many words as I can, then hit the list to fill in the gaps. I get the feeling that some people consider themselves superior because they don't need the list, and that's bothersome.
hello sprite and lady. You have already helped me enormously over the past couple of weeks with my fright about poor Max!
hey we are supposed to be having fun!!!
well, for what it's worth, I think everybody plays as he or she enjoys the game. And as long as we can respect all ways and not just our own, it should work out fine.
some days, i have lots of time to babble. other days, i use the list to finish the grid
I certainly don't feel superior, just laid back about whether or not I finish and, believe, me, if I get half, I am very happy!
ruby, the solution to that is BabbleExpert, which I think we've explained to you. But if you don't need the list, that's fine.
that is what a community is about, I think, rubyfoo. To be there for eachother. For fun and for support, and whatever.
lots of days i don't finish and it doesn't bother me at all
I just hope all is well in the Mr P and Lickety household
I'm sure I need the list, but it's fun this way, too. And I am so happy when I find words.
ALL days, I don't finish. Never come closer than 3/4.
I'm not saying the list is a bad idea - it might just be better if there was enough time for people to be able to realistically solve the puzzle before the list came up.
I always wonder why the mere mention of not using a list stirs up a dispute. It isn't really a shame not to need or use it. And that is not being superior. It is just another way to enjoy this game.
gremlinn, if you don't looko at the list, it doesn't matter now does it?
my day off tomorrow herin as i am staying home to "nurse" hugo so i will phone mrp
I think the list is a great idea, but since I play this whenever I have a little (or a lot) of time, I am in and out all day.
i'm sure there are webpages where a babbler can solve the grid instantly if one is desperate to complete it
I do look at the list, if it comes up before I finish.
josh: yes, I know of at least two.
How many words today please
so i don't think you could "stop" people from using a list to complete the puzzle
i am looking at your list right now grem, thank you
grem lin, I have the time, but not the ability to finish the grids, but it doesn't matter; this is still great fun, especially when there are lots of c's and w's!
121
but gremlin, if I start with four hours left .. should the list be held in abeyance until I have a reasonable time to finish?
I know, but the people who use boggle solvers don't stick around, anyway - it gets too boring.
rubyfoo,, when this game started, almost nobody ever finished. It wasn't even known how many words it hid in total. Only after the lists appeared, it became more usual to finish grids. The way you play is a lot more relaxed, I think, than to force yourself to finish.
Thanks
Chacun à son gout. Anyway, I have to go to bed, lleaving 41 to find tomorrow if I have time. I also find morewords a great help and time-saver when I'm totally lost and the words are really weird.
I put up a suggestion of 2 or 3 hours after flip, not before.
i hate de words almost as much as re words
gremlinn, then theirs is another kind of game. Babble isn't made to serve everybody, just those who like the game :)
bye jilli, i love morewords
forcing wouldn't work; I still couldn't. lol. I do, however, occasionally learn a babblet from the chat and make a note of it and sometimes actually use it again!
but it than is not the same for everyone
sleep well, jilli
Yeah, I wouldn't expect many cheaters to be here anyway - the point of cheating is to get people angry and see their reactions.
why deprive people of the list if they want it? If they don't want it they don't have to look at it.
we don't have many of those, indeed, I think, gremlinn. Mostly it is a relaxed site.
So it's mainly seen at sites where you can see what words people have, or how many points the have, etc.
jilli: because I like finishing first.
Thats true Jillibus
lol it is like telling people televisions should be abolished, because they spend too much time sitting and watching.
is it very cold in Holland, Sprite. It is bitterly cold here. That is too funny, grem! In Lexulous, there were people who used anagrams, but it was always obvious because they would win by 2000 pts and every body made fun of them.
gremlin, just don't look at the list if you don't want it!
or no more eating sweet!
and I like rules that are fair for everyone
I do sometimes - but then I try to avoid chat entirely until I'm done, so I don't get too many spoilers of the hard-to-find words
yes rubyfoo, very cold. And still snowy. An oldfashioned winter if I ever saw one, lol.
sleep well, jilli, my husband isn't interested in the Olympics, so I haven't seen any of it. :((
so do I, BabbleRabble.
this is not a competitive game, grem, or a speed race, it's a cooperative one. Are you saying you don't want other people to have the list because they might beat you to the finish line?
sometimes, the chat is my only possibility of finding the obscure, generally compound, long words. And, believe me, I am very grateful
they would beat me, yeah - I feel competitive at this kind of game
helping eachother when things are tough is one of the fun things of this site for me.
Since we all play at different times, when we finish becomes less of an issue, no? In Lexulous, you are both playing against the clock AND against other people, so it's a different kind of competition. And the rankings here are a private gratification.
Well, I don't think you have much to worry about, grem
I have an idea .... been nice knowing you.
as jilli said, gremlinn, this isn't a competitive game. We all have 24 hours to finish. And some people sleep during the first 7 or more hours, and they start later.
I don't give a hoot about the rankings
no competition from me!!!
is the words of Alfred E. Neuman (you are probably all too young), "What, me worry?" lol
can't remember even looking at the rankings, lol
they are funny and slightly incomprehensible!
now, I'll dig in. Jilli, don't be mad at me!!
ruby, you KNOW *I'M* not too young for Alfred!
hahah
well, it's been fun, and I am going to play a bit now and enjoy it. In my way. And more than willing to help out others if I can.
I'm not mad at anyone, ruby!
my big revelation came when ata explained the tile stats grid; up to then I was shooting in the dark
good, thank you, lol, have a good sleep!
Grid going to fast for me
dart played this for years without going pro and still was fast at finising even without knowing the stats or how many words there were.
Ata is good at that. When I just started, she explained to me that the only cheating is looking up the actual words. All the rest is research, she said. Which made me feel better about using the clues in chat, grin... I was a bit uptight back then still.
that's amazing
sleep well jilli
then again I am still trying to shovel in dinner which is blar
dart is really fast. And doesn't impose his rule on anyone either.
there is no cheating in this game because there is no advantage over anyone else to be had
I've been playing since December and it is more and more fun, both as I remember babblets and get to know the peeps in the chat
poor lady... want a sandwich?
you should see the cheaters in lexulous blitz!
what for the ugh dinner, herin?
or leftover borscht?
oh yes, remembering babblets is such a big help. And fun in its own way. I have this inner smugness when I spot haha or ywis.
ruby, I don't play lexulous blitz -- I take days to finish a game with friends who can put up with that
so would I, jilli. I am too easily stressed with time limits.Goes with the neurological handicap and babble suits me just fine.
this chat isn't getting me to bed!
I think Borscht and sweetbread may taste better
thats cause we want you to stay and chat jilli
lol, no it isn't. Off with you, dear jilli, or you will have a tough day tomorrow. *hugs*
see, I'm even slow about bedtime, and getting up in the morning
lol Andree, true. But we also want our jilli to be healthy and hale, right? ;)
no, lexulous blitz is a four-minute game. Everybody starts with the same tiles and you get them all. There is only one minute between games. It's very hard, but not as hard as this!
and the chat is too quick to be much beyond greeting your friends and making fun of the cheaters
ok ok, I'm off, reluctantly -- happy babbling, all! *poof*
it would be way too hard for me, ruby, grin. I am the pitbull kind of gal. If I can dig in my teeth and keep going, all is well. If I have to hurry, I block.
bye jilli, sweet dreams!
Bye OSGMA
?? lady, is that like the ORTBG?
I really really want gendarme. Even though I don't even know if it is an english word.
OverSeas GrandMa. We have a bit of adopted cyber families here, rubyfoo.
what about gorm and goth, they are both rfacceptable UK dictionary scrabble words!!
oh, could I be one please? No grandkids of my own!
Jill is my overseas Grandma. I don't have one and I love listening to Jill stories
and my son is 46, so it won't happen!
gorm I wouldn't know, but goth I can understand. It used to need a capital, as a proper noun. And enable is old. It doesn't even acknowledge internet.
di6 please
Ruby yes you could but I know Jillie really well
stick around, rubyfoo, and it is bound to happen that somebody will adopt you or wants you to adopt him or her.
no, I am still a newbie! Mustn't be presumptuous!
no joy there yet, Andree, but I will look
I want gener, that's my phantom for today
gender*
i have 7 grandkids ruby, would offer you 1 but i can't choose
ah, was wondering about gener. Yes, gender, and as jilli pointed out, gander would have been nice too on this goose th5 day.
lol, andree
oh, a tiara, Andree?
or dander?
Sorry I am so into My Kitchen Rules right now.
for the di6 I mean, a tiara
thx sprite, you are so reliable
beautiful clue!
brb
it is team work, Andree. You just told me there is a di6.
meteor is another phantom for me
Right I am going to go and enjoy my self and play
enjoy, dear lady
I had better get dressed or husband will be angry!
see you in a little while
55 words so far
yipes i need some clues or something
bye for now, rubyfoo
just checked my ranking, lol, and it went down since yesterday!!!! too funny
you might want to check gremlinn's profile, Bianca, though I am not sure if he made them.
bye ruby
bye andree
lol rubyfoo, at least there is some movement, which is better than be frozen ;)

thanks sprite,
i have never checked mine , i expect they are somewhere in the toilet
don't know ho wto check profile
i guss i'll just keep working at it
can't remember checking them. Can't remember caring either, lol.
Bianca, there is a rankings link on top of this page. If you go there and then use control F, you can search for the name and click on it, and that should open the profile for you.
I am finding this grid rather tough, for the 2nd half. I keep finding the same words over and over again.
yes for awhile words came quickly but now i seem to be stuck. Sometimes if i turn my headto the side or upside down i find another word.
lol now that is an idea! Did you manage to get the profile up?
me too, its those vowelsin one corner and consenants in another, having trouble putting them together
I didn't... perhaps becasue i have a mac the control f thing didn't work
oh no, that is true, and I don't know the command for the mac. Let me give you a link then, hold on.
just click on rankings and find gremlins then open it
http://tinyurl.com/yh9t7ag
not even morewords will help me with da7/8
let me try to help then, Andree, thanks for the direction!
lol in one go! For he's a dedicated follower of fashion... plural
though that doesn't give me a da8... wrong one?
oh it does. Superlative of 7
thx sprite
(sorry to be thinking out 'loud', was trying to help too fast)
i was looking for something unusual, lol
lolllll oh that will get me every time.
Thanks Sprite

Morning Christine.......no chance am afraid of me tiring of being a Grandmother....its the best feeling in the world......and Alexander is gorgeous......so am keeping him!!....Sorry my dear!....[hug]
My luck to get a kid that doesn't want babies, I'm reduced to begging strangers to share their babies.
Oh dear......I do feel for you!.......my son was 30 before making me a g/m!
But am happy to share him with you!
Please give him a hug from his British Granny in California.
Oh I shall do!

I've been in California for 49 years, but I'm from London.
Good morning kids!

Hello
Hi Herin!

I fixed my ipod so that made my night. How are you all?
ok here ta!
Have ot go to bed soon
Saw "It's Complicated" tonight ... light and funny....leaves you in a good mood
H
H
Ok. I watched crappy tv
Hi, I'm back, only 44 to go lol I'll never get them but who cares.....,
hy lynxx
hi Ruby
French tv is the worst!
their idea of funny is men with mustaches in skirts!
I get sucked in thinking it would be ok and nope. The only thing I have been sucked in by is Torchwood and then they stoped.
I need one more word to complete the grid. Can anyone give me a clue for the last me 6/27?
plural of the various communication arts
latin plural
sorry, those were 24
you need came together nicely
I really liked Life on Mars American Version could have down without the last 20 min. O and were is ata
thanks - it was so easy and my eyes just went to the wrong E every time!!!
what is Life on Mars?
Congrats Dalmation!
yay, dalmatian
Err TV show. One was english one american. \
I see another kid has been murdered at school. Sorry to busy having a rant at the tv and an eye twitch to boot
is it sci fi? My guess is Not!
eye twitch = supressed anger!
rant in here, we can take it!
Life on Mars is Scifi
i liked it too, herin!
sorry it just pisses me off that another kid is dead but does that change the way schools opperate. No.
Hey Une
I'll look for it but doubt that they'll show it here as they are very whimsical in their choices, even with a satellite
hi une
oohhh, it was originally a brit show -- forgot about that -- I meant the US version
hey ruby
hi Une
howdy, lynxxx :-)
just started watching a brit series, Survivors
on BBC America -- thought it was new but saw at the end that it came out a couple of years ago
there's a great Canadian series, Flashpoint, but they run it very late here
it's set in Toronto
Thats a bit harsh Infernal. What should schools be doing? employing security staff in the grounds and frisking kids down. There will be a lot of things to blame but surely won't all be the schools fault? Obviously not enough brotherly love taught at that Catholic school though
my computer is making a funny noise, like there's a mouse caught in the hard drive.....
Ok What i mean is the culture of bullying never changes. It goes on and on. I am still bullied in classes now. Its a joke.
perhaps it's mouse-poered -- little treadmill etc.
ruby, that started out Canadian but was bought by CBS in US, right?
about everyone in the world collapsing at once and dreaming their future, right?
I don't know, it's a Canadian production, just discovered it by accident when husband was surfing the channels and it's wonderful!
And I feel really sorry for the teachers as they don't get paid enough to deal with all these kids and their problems.
ach episode is as good as a feature-length movie (but shorter)
oh, wait, that's Flash Forward . . NM!
hahah
no, it's about a strategic poilice unit, usually hostage situations, but surprisingly well-acted
i see (via Wikipedia) that the DVD of the first season is available -- may have to check it out!
When you talk about schools and such, the bile and anger rise in me. I've always believed that schools should teach and the rest should be left to the parents.
Sex ed, drivers ed etc. are family matters. Do not help me raise my children. I'll raise them and you can supplement their education.
I like the idea of Drivers ed. We dont have enough of that here.
I feel these programs usurp the parental rights and responsibilities.
Drivers Ed! not nowadays Infernal - what is it? 100 hours of L plate driving before you can get a licence - thats a heap!
does anybody have the lonely o word?
ok4/8
o word sounds like what you'd put on an oxen
I meant in school Lynxx. I know that a few schools have the actual classes but not many
almost like the Dust Bowl families of the 1930s
ty une
and gramma
yw :-)
Not all aprents are as good as you Gramma, and with both parents commonly working I think there is a place for schools to introduce some 'social' subjects
even had to monkey that, couldn't see it
got that one right away but drawing a blank on the k's
oohhh, got one!
I realise you meant school Infernal but you are talking learning rules ony aren't you, not actual driving
only have one, hints from off stage, mispelled
and it's plural!
tx ruby, got 'em all now!
*its
that's not my one, mine's already plural :((
what is yours, une
I mean the actual classes in school. That 100 hours is with someone in the car or 120 whatever
ke4/8 is almost like shooting clay disks for target practice
I have the double vowel ones
thanks une
yw!
did you know those or get them by monkeying?
or maybe I am just tired and cranky and really don't like going and dealing with society right now
what would those proposed classes actually entail Infernal?
in France they require that people go to professional driving schools and it is so expensive that poor people wind up driving illegally
My friends kid was taking them in Geelong
Why can't the parents teach it?
I'm taking my first walk of the New Year as it's not so cold. My 88 yr old neighbor is putting me to shame! Wish me luck!
Because parents pass on bad behaviour. This is about the rules and such
What do you mean, they pass on bad behaviour?
bonne chance, ruby!
Oh doh! They pass on their bad behaviour. I get it
merci une!
They can here, in fact it is now almost compulsory because no-one could afford to take 100 hours of professional driving instruction! But most here would have at least 3-5 hours of professional driving instruction
Sorry I'm a little slow.
monkeyed those ke's!
lol, une
Yes. Like the idiot parent drinking her coffee, yaking on her mobile and teacher her daughter to drive on her learners. The daughter was caught speeding and not wearing a seatbelt
I would be happy with the cost of the drivers licence including defensive driving course.
Remove all the stupid rules. Let the consequences fall where they may. Your car insurance goes thru the roof, the car gets wrecked whatever. Let Darwinism Live!
Good idea! substitute that for half of the compulsory hours
brb
It just irks me that $300 or about that for a piece of paper that enables you to drive.
BBS
once again let me reiterate. Grumpy
i think there should be a licence for parenting. it only makes sense that proper education in the safe operation of a dangerous machine be required but any pair of idiots can poop out a baby
g'morning all
Hi Bonkler
coffee not working... brain so slow... oh poor weak monkeys...
You can borrow my monkeys, Bonkler. I've just finished and am off to make chicken pie and a fruit salad. Happy Babbling!

5/18 - 4/7 - 5/18 - 4/7 - 4/6 - 4/6

Those were ga's. GE's are 4/7 - 5/14 -
Go's - 4/6 - GR - 4/6 - 5/14
so, looks like I need 3 more ga. thanks.
ga big bra cup size + vowel

Hi Beach!
I think it is one of those nasty little grids today...lots of strange words
good morning
Hello DR!
howdy dr;))
hi Car and Crossy!
You are all bad influences! I should be working! I am waiting for Trif to bring tertiare over so I thought I would pop in...and all my peeps are here, so how can I go?!?!?
hiya DR
Crossy- I am glad to read that you are holding up
Hi Beach
Car- I am taking Jake and my parents to go see the Percy Jackson- lightning thief movie
Jake made me read the book first though
Whee! I want to see that SOOO bad! But I think I want to read the books first. I missed the whole Harry Potter wave, so I would like to hop on this one!
Mythology is much more my style anyway!
we are doing well dr
I finished the first book last night and started the 2nd.. THey are very well written
Oh good! Maybe I shall go pick one up today while I am out!
Honestly, my boys may be a little young for the stories, but they love mythology and gods and such, so I will give it a go!
( I actually enjoyed the book more than Harry POtter and Jake became VERY interested in Greek mythology)
I can never understand how de 7,36 can be a word. Either you are de 4,6 or you are not. How can you be more de 4,6 than another de 4,6 person?
Zeus, Poseide, Athena, Hades- they are all there
I'm with you Mudd!
LOL Mudd
DR - They play a computer game called "Age of Mythology" and they absolutely love it! However, I think I may be raising some pagans! For show and tell at Children's Time at church, they brought in Cerebus, a cyclops, Medusa, Minotaur, a hydra, and a few select others from their collection!!!! The pastor was very good about it though!
They will LOVE the books then Car!!! all of those are in there! It made me relearn stuff
Age of Mythology- where do you get that?
can any1 please help me with ge/4?
It is a computer game...not sure where my hubby got it, but I can find out for you...or just google it.
I will goggle it
or google it even
sorry Rhonda- just started
AOM is a fun, older game and gan be found redily at most walmats fo unde 15 dollars

just noticed sukee's comment about her cat's fear of balloons -- i used to have a springer spaniel who would not even come in the room if a balloon was around!

TY!
yw
Back in a bit.
hello people!
I have a question for you ...
Ata!!!!!
any americans / canadians here ...
FM!!
help w/the so 6/24 please
could you tell me just quickly what you understand by the word "estuary"
'estuary' is the open mouth of a river more or less, isn't it?
when it meets the sea
yep. but you're not american, therefore you understand these things :P
I believe where salt & fresh meet
why?
oh, hoot has added an extra layer already.
it is generally a mix of sea and river water
My picture is a sort of swampy area. fairly large
because my friend is trying to tell me that americans think estuaries are reserves, nothing to do with where the river and sea meet. I'm trying to tell her she's talking crap :P
She is talking crap
many estuaries are reserves.. they are fragile wetlands
she's talking crap. What the heck is a reserve supposed to be?
Good afternoon, all.
However ......
oh and hi!
yes, a lot are (luckily). But they are estuaries first, reserves second
I thought the estuaries were next to the ovaries.
estuaries can also be places where esthers go to rest.
checking in from New Jersey, Ata - confusion could be because estuaries are rich habitats and are prime targets for environmental preservation
or exploitation
If you see some of the huge rivers and their deltas and off shoots it could be possible
ty ty hoot and ruru! and JBV, I think you're right. I was just horrified that she didn't get the concept of the estuary *then* having protection / environmental stuff on top
You'll just have to throw an encyclopedia at her, Ata.
or an egret or something
LOL Judi
please you are just lucky it was us. Others might not know
lol, that's why I asked here, to get some proper intelligent replies!!
the classic estuary is Moss Landing California
The improper replies are just a bonus, because we like you!
gatcha
ok - now what is the other ad? Have the greeting
goodbye?
my french is very, very little
a + to **** someone a friend
Hi all. How are people finding the grid today?
on the cmp
And thank you hoot. I had the other ad.
The other is a + de4
sokay - finally got it. thank you ru and firewords!
wtg hoot
So why do we get small grids on holidays and large grids when we are supposed to be working?
me thinks it to be a fairly easy grid today.
congrats to all w ho got firewords
keeps you from getting bored at work?
It's doable wht one of those "Got there in the end" grids.
Hello, all.
is the grid size picked or randomly generated?
hi vic
Hi Vic
all random
Vi Good morning dear
vi vi !!!!!11111!
It's actually afternoon here by now, FM!
*hugs and rosepetals for all*
I can't stop even with Atas exuberance. Lovely to see you.
ok - does anone need a clue cause I really have to start regular life.
Will be back in a while.
Given the way Babblers are spread around the world, the holidays are kind of random too.
Awww... Well, farewell.
*hugs hugs fm*
ok - bbl
hello and goodbye everyone! (((hugs people coming and going)))
Hello, stidmama.
((stid))
Bye, hootowl.
I have decided to play a few minutes while I eat breakfast, but first the rant of the day...
Hi stid
*raises blast shield*
after asking Tom and the boys many times to be sure their ski gear was all in the car or easily found... stidkid#1 left his winter coat in the bedroom, which I found when I got up just now.
{Ducks and covers}
so. I don't know if he has "something" or if his father will be smart and make him sit in the lodge so he doesn't get cold.
I am furious. They made it so clear that my interference wasn't wanted...
*sigh* *shrug*
Huh. Stiddad will probably buy him a new coat.
There's always something, isn't there!
kids these days ..... hmmmm
no, Tom won't buy him a new coat. we don't have money to replace things that aren't actually lost.
You should hide his coat and say, "I thought you had it."
actually, I put it ON TOP of the pile of things in the corner of the room. IT was under the sweatshirt that the kid also didn't take.
Maybe they can hook him up with one from the lost and found. Most ski areas have them.
This is the point at which you firmly remind yourself that you can lead a proverbial horse to water, but...
So he either has to make do with the clothes he has or he sit's in the lodge all day.
yep. I am trying to calm down enough to work on schoolwork. I can't worry about this. in the great scheme of life, this is small stuff.
... There's no point in your drinking the water for it.
blah. horse water. Have you SEEN that stuff???
lol
Mmmm. Horse drool.
We had a theory of mental development with our son. We came to think of his brain as a giant chunk of Swiss cheese.
so. how about the rest of you? staying warm? playing nicely with each other? NOT running with scissors?
Holey? Pungent? Melts well? Apt to mold?
Pffth. We've been running with snow shovels here.
We could tell him things and fight with him about things to no avail. Then one day, one of the holes would fill in and he would just get it.
Available for $5.99 a pound?
rofl wht! sounds about right...
still, Judi? haven't you-all got things sorted out yet?
Unfortunately, we could never develop the patience to wait for the holes to fill.
The main hole in my kids' brains goes right straight between the two ears, the better to ignore what I say!
good afternoon lovely people!
I think that's pretty common among teenagers. Airheadedness abounds.
because of Presidents
Hello, featherbee!
hello feathery one! how are you? how are the kiddos?
How old is your son now, wht?
Presiden'ts Day here in the USA I was unable to buy root beer vodkay :( also could not return books to library
can't buy rootbeer? whyever not?
Vodka even :) altho vodkay has a nice ring to it
root beer Vodka?
Sounds like something Crossy would make.
yes it is delish by itself and with root beer soda it is really great
I see "vodka" got ruru's attention!
Hi is 21.
would have to be bacon vodka...
snow and ice are melting but a snow shower is expected later today
kiddos have caught another round of ick. Nick is over it, now daniel's got the bug. he's asleep on the living room floor, a few feet away from me.
Most of the holes have filled in by now.
is there a list somewhere today?
my son made skittles vodka....
Thanks goodness, wht!
Lickety has a list
i'm watching cross country on the olympics, thinking of scrabs
sorted the colors and made 6 different flavored vodkas
oh, I have so many YEARS ahead before they reach fully legal maturity. *sigh* *gets ready to shovel cheese for a few years*
reaaly, that is interesting, Jeff
he also made his own absinthe....
*no sympathy for stidmama. I'm only a third of the way there!*
his next project is making homemade mead
the pretty-colored vodka sounds okay... not sure about absinthe.
Yikes, Jeff7! And I thought my brothers were dangerous for experimenting with explosives! lol
Stid, I just wish that we had developed more patience and perspective when he was younger.
Maybe it just took this long for the holes to fill in in our brains.
I am trying, wht... and he is trying my patience!
I understand stid.
need the Y for NBT please? just passed halfway.
and really need to work on this stupid paper. about to chuck it all and start from scratch.
*murmurs a prayer for patience; promises to share any extra with stidmama*
ye4/11 - looks like weirdo spelling of sound of disgust
and ye6 - past tense
More than once my wife asked me to remind her how bad she would look in an orange jump suit.
thanks Vi!
help with da7 and da8 pls
and p it for the 6
got them! down to 51.
LOL wht! YES! that is how I feel some days!
thanks FM also!
da7 - fops
Fortunately we never both felt that way at the same time.
da8 - superlative: finest and da8
thanks for the DA words!
yes, Tom and I trade off, for sure.
and then make the da8 'the most'
My husband never seems to lose patience ever. It drives me crazy! lol
muchas gracias for the da7 and da8
Such a lucky thing to have Vi :)
I want patience and I want it now!!!!!
Of course, he's gracious enough to acknowledge that he spends a lot less time with the kids and isn't in charge of nagging them as much, but it is just his personality really.
lol, wht
I could use a dose of patience too, lack of patience is my one flaw :-)
Vi you are blessed with a good relationship then
I think it's both, Vi... if he were home ALL The time he'd be more prickly. But for some reason in our family the patient parent had the greater earning power.
Yep. I am.
Hi peri
and here I am caught up in the chat. that I started.
The place were we both came close to losing it was when we would get his report card and he would say, "I don't see why you are so upset. A D *is* a passing grade."
hi FM!
Yeah, my salary when I was working full time wouldn't have bought a garage in the Boston area. But also Dave had no desire or inclination to stay home with kids - especially not babies. I thought I'd be better at it! lol
ok hmm I guess ye 4/6 are what you say you did when you are very drunk, and you hugged the porceline god? LOL, hello everyone
Enjoy your children and and husband sidddy!
oh no wht! sounds like our younger son with his last report card. He knows we don't care about the "grade" -- so between tone of voice and posture, he is resisting our "upsetness" over his lack of actually doing the work!
Hello, meliae.
ye 4 and 6 that is
That is it exactly.
I will, and I do, FM.
hey mel! good to see you!
Grand stiddy :)
hiyas Stiddy ((HUGS)) been coming on in the wee hors usually around 5 am
ye4 is what i said when a customer vomited on the table last night
one might even say she ye6 on the table
hahahaha Pip
and now... I shall get this section of the paper "worked on." back in an hour. *sets timer* *mini poof*
yikes, pippingeek!
andnow I shall wish you all Happy Babbling and see you in the morning.
Good luck, stidmama!
bye FM have a wonderful day
Of course we knew we were in trouble when he brought home a bad report card in 5'th grade and said. "You know that once I am in high school, no one will care what my grades were in 5'th grade."
bibi Stiddy
Well, we got a little bonus FM time, so I can't complain too much... Goodbye, dear!
By FM
actually they do care, but try to convince a kid of that whose attention span is more on what he is eating in the next 15 mins, I went through that with my son
Clue for So6/24, please?
When he said that, it stopped us de4 in our tracks because, of course, he was right. He just wasn't supposed to know that yet.
Judy, it is like an African country with an extra vowel thrown in.
Thanks, wht.
Ty, wht.
back. had to take care of daniel again.
Junior high scores are taken into account when they look at what classes to put you in high school at least here they are, and can determine if you can take college accredited classes
Poor Daniel. Poor featherbee.
Hiyas Feather! ((HUGS)) I bet Daniel is getting huge!
Ah, that's when you have to play the friend card, wht. If he doesn't pass, all his friends will move on and he'll be stuck behind and everyone will make fun of him.
he's at least looking perkier. even if he isn't feeling it.
whats the matter with him?
i can't get that african country...a little extra hint for that so 6/24 pleez

I don't know about banana vodka. There was a discussion earlier about root beer vodka and Skittles vodka and bacon vodka.

I am born and raised and live here
thanks ADHD

Aren't we planning an August get-together?
yes hego, but I fear we will pay later in the year with reduced rainfall OR with no summer at all.
barb -- which is your hubby's store in Mission?
yes jill -- and I will go if I can, but late August might conflict with student teaching. That is OKAY.
oh stop that, stid!
Mother can attend if I can't.
He has a Hydraulic repair business out there...Mil-Spec Industries...Just a small shop
sounds like a handy sort of person to know, Barb!
Oh, not the kind of shop my son and d-i-l and granddaughter might be visiting, lol!
Yes with the OOPS at the opening cerimonies he was wondering who did the hydraulics there...someone's head rolled I am sure
I bet!
I heard about that Barb (didn't watch the ceremonies) too bad, because the pics I have seen make it look just beautiful; but all people talk about is that one mistake

nice grid today
very nice, friendly
Barb, there's a wonderful thing Lickety made called BabbleExpert (free) which puts everything on one page and has a box where if you type one word it goes to the lists and more than one word goes to the chat. It only works for PCs, though, not Macs.
anyone got ye6, Pls?
ye 6/42 word is past tense of the ye 4/11 word hego
i'm still waiting for a response from lickety for the babbleexpert beta request, but i know he's been busy with a sick child
i see well I have a pc...how do i get there?
past tense of the ye4

Oh! It's a big help -- has a list of the first 2 letters of each word and how long it is and its point count. Scroll down below the grid to Friends of Babble and Lickety's Babble Clues. Right-click to open in a new window, then shrink it sideways and fit it in next to the grid :)
YAY ADHD! (sorry, the phone rang)

Hello speedfreak! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
It means that they have not upgraded to pro status.

Hi Atalante! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
Greetings!
Hello babbz! How are you doing? Wlecome to the grid
thanks min
yw speedfreak
I have about 15 loads of laundry to do and so instead I am babbling!
laudry can wait... just turn the underwear inside out and get another day out of them
there's always Febreze ya know
lysol
I just finished the grid, but I am still NOT going to do laundry. Cleaned on Saturday; no more chores for me
candles to mask the smell
lol good one. I'm counting the days till my 18 y.o. daughter goes off to college. She takes about 3 showers a day, or so it would seem, and must go through 20 towels a week....I can't keep up!
my hubs is doing laundry as we speak
That's the spirit, Min! I just can't seem to get motivated lately!
oh bless his heart - though it could be a major laundry disaster if mine did ours!
i had to train him after my whites turned pink
he'd be wearing pink underwear for sure!
yes, that's happened here, too!
and my pink swtshirt turned a murky color after being washed w/new jeans
but the 18 y.o. is worse than her dad. she throws everything together - doesn't matter what color or who it belongs to! You finally say, thanks but no thanks!
Fireworks!
i trained my sons to do laundry at age 10; i was a single mom who worked 2.5jobs and needed their help
hooray for hego! WTG!
wtg hego. you did it! congrats!
I tried to get my son to do laundry at 18 and he went straight to the fluff and fold lady.
Still goes there.
anyone need any clues? i want to finish a movie i fell asleep on last nite
as long as he pays for it hego, let him.
I'd like GE5 for fireworks please
That is great ADHD - but my brain dead daughter doesn't seem to have a knack for laundry, even though I've trained her so many times. SHE is ADHD, lol, and has no patience with laundry. Hence she waits until she's got about 10 loads and then just shoves everything together - makes chaos in my laundry room, too
yay for hego!!
I need to leave too. Bye and tx for the help.
way to go pugmama - see you hego
ge5 ge + single hump + **ses are valentine flowers
ty vm & done
I need help with the ST 7 please
babbz, i totally understand your daughter... totally.
don't know how I missed trying that with all the monkeying I did
st7 past tense of the st5/12
We have a totally ADD household, which is why it is often such chaos and easier to shut the door.
wtg pug congrats
i've got ADD kids, one not too bad; the younger one married an ADD girl and they have 3 ADD kids! THAT's a chaotic house, but I spent years in ADD counseling and learned disciplines, etc and it's helped so much;
Someone once defined ADHD as not paying your bills even though you have the money.
my daughterinlaw would ratherr complain incessantly that get help
Congratulations hego on your fireworks! Good for U!
ADDers are notoriously poor money managers
I have 3 ADHD kids as well - one is now a police officer and working on his Masters, but let me tell you, that was rough when he was a kid. All three took medicine, I probably have ADD too, and you do learn to cope.
and time managers
I know. But mostly time managers.
it's easier to deal with it as an adult that a kid... we respond better to rationale
i'm off to finish my movie... any clues before i leave?
You are right. Just getting the kids out of school is an accomplishment. They all have great personalities, can deal with people, good humor, nice looking, but school was the pits.
Adios ADHDWordLover!I will see you tomorrow maybe
so long ADHD...
bye till later maybe! babbz, hang in there; i understand your frustration... TOTALLY!
later.... good luck all in finishing
LOL Thanks

The A and C hereunder are not mistypes - just doubly relieved.
outlandish, that is. da8
hi gals..and guys...
the Third Doctor was often described using the root word ofthe 8
any help on any of the em words? i only have the first one
da 8: is a superlative form of yankee doodle da6
hey PAV.

second em looks like a flightless bird with extra vowel in the middle
are you STILL here? stid!

then the verb form of the category (happy, sad, angry); followed by past tense and plural
penguins aren't in the grid...
this em 4/6 is killing me
I was gone for a while, then back. now going away again to do something actually productive, which working on the paper was NOT. *sigh*
I hate grad-student writer's block.

Congratulations Book Doctor Gwen on FW's! Hooray!
Yay BDG!
ty ty
so, which of you has an icon that is under the daily theme? (and what is the theme?)
mine is so old...but I like it...
yes very cool, pav. i used to be a seashell nut, now just an admirer
why oh why can't the baddest of th4 be called tornadiest
good word, but you only have one T !!!
then i want gormest lol
hmm so 6/24 is stumping me :/
note to self: Self, do not attempt to create new words unless all the letter are present and accountable for...
well golly gee me! I can't even write a note to self that isn't missing a letter!
so6/24 - african country with an extra vowel
Pav - Don't beat yourself up. i am sure Self knew what you were saying.
lawyer, my african geography isn't great :(
north africa
ah i got it...
thanks!
yw
i want tedious to be in there
5 words left :0
:)
lol dont worry it is in this grid in spirit lol
rows, i give clues....i don't do magic
lol
git er dun Row!
hi crossy!
howdy pav
lawyer -1...I have 47 more what are they?
46
i'm wondering how a ye 4/11 works when the y is worth 3 points already... then if you add three letters to that it would make it at least a 4/12
44
ye4 11 and ye6 42
yeah i see those listed, i just don't get how a ye 4/11 is possible
it's one point shy of what it has to be
since each letter is worth at least one point, and the y is already 3 points
the remaining three tiles only need to have 8 points...
oh
the ye6 is the past tense of ye4
haha i was doubling it for some reason
never mind
yeuk
argh i'm sorry
done, fireworks :)
thanks rows..but I already have it..there are another 44 I don't have that you could help with?
yay Rows!
PAV, do you have specific words that are giving you a hard time?
anything that has letters...
42
:P
there's an so5...african?..
41
yeah, think of an african country but it has an extra vowel...
the last three letters are also a man's name
I do object to the first me6/24 -- it's a plural of a plural, like when Larry King said "phenomenas"
ah...the beginning of Campbell's so in a can and Mr. Rather...
jilli, agreed
yes
wouldn't that have been phenomenae
phenomena is the plural of phenomenon
Greek origin
and medium is Latin, so combined it's a mess!
I think the so6 is the way the French spell the African country
Hi, Jilli--that me 6 is not pertaining to the tv, etc., industry is the plural of an anatomical term.
different word group
but one clicks on the ?, it takes you to the defin for media...
Yes--the me 5 Jilli refers to is Latin; the me 6 is Greek plural for anat. term.
I went to the ?, miranda
Did you scroll down? It's not among the first defs.
yes I did -- will do again to see the Greek info
me6 builds from the Latin medius
Latin is the foundation for the romance languages, SPanish, Italian, german, greek, portugese
(SPanish and Italian are indeed Romance language descended from Latin. Greek and German are not. Latin, Greek and Germanic languages are all in the Indo-European family.)
here is what I'm looking at--no giveaway since the word has already been given here:
me⋅di⋅a 2  /ˈmidiə/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [mee-dee-uh] Show IPA –noun, plural -di⋅ae  /-diˌi/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [-dee-ee] Show IPA . 1. Greek Grammar. a voiced plosive, as β, δ, γ. 2. Anatomy. the middle layer of an artery or lymphatic vessel. 3. Entomology. a longitudinal vein in the middle portion of the wing of an insect. pb for you miranda
well, sort of, but happy to join the others who already put this word in the chog. Hope to find leftover Valentine candy there.
I see what you mean, miranda, but also see what Pav says -- the Latin pl of medius would be me6. I couldn't believe a Latin ending to a Greek word, but I see me5 merely describes a sound in Greek.
we dont leave left overs, we make new each day
there is also tea, coffee, usually bagels
and all the fixins
Yes, Jilli, and then that artery stuff. Oh, good, Sue--to the pb I go
Now I'll shuddup and try to get my last 10 ;)
I love lox and cream cheese
you cant find it here in NC
and I my last 57
and my 72
they block this site at the schools :(
one of my fave sandwiches is lox and capers and thin red onion slices on cream cheese between layers of dark russian style rye bread.
just as well, sue -- we had a lot of trouble with little trolls of school age
as i mentioned before, could be another chicken/egg question
as i mentioned before, could be another chicken/egg question
Oh--just one more thing--me 5 would be the fem., not the pl. of Latin medius--as in emeritus, emerita (which is what I am)
The border between France and Germany was more or less the border between the Romance-speaking West and the Germanic-speaking East. Prior to the division of the Frankish empire, the language name “Frankish†meant the local language as distinct from Latin, and quite different languages may have passed under that name. As a result, until today both a Romance language, French, and a couple of High German dialects, Franconian (Fränkisch), carry a name derived from “Frankishâ€. The word was no longer unique, and another word had to be found for the vernacular of the Germanic East. The new word for the purpose was diutisc with the meaning “belonging to the peopleâ€. It derives from a Germanic root meaning “people†(e.g. Old English þeod) which is now lost in most languages (but compare Icelandic þjóð). Interestingly, the oldest preserved mention of diutisc occurs in Latin texts of the 9th century where it appears as a Germanic loanword theodiscus borrowed into Latin; it denoted the local vernacular as distinct from Latin. In some instances it appears even as a Latin translation for Germanic frencisg then still having its original meaning. At the end of the 11th century, the word diutisc is applied for the first time to both the language and the country and slowly gets more and more into use.
and I have 34 to go...
I really should go shopping...must make some cheesecakes...
I agreed, miranda, that the pl of medius would be me6
yesno?
Fireworks - Compliments of my darling daughter.
Jili, that sounds like a great sandwich
No--it's the fem. of medius
my son just told me he picks his HS classes tomorrow, because next year he is in HS.
YAY soodle and dau!!!
Today's her 15th birthday, and she can beat her old ma on Babble!!!
when did this happen
I just put him on the bus for the first time
I did take Latin -- then what would be the pl of medius?
an "i" ending as in: emeritus (m); emerita (f); emeriti (pl)
medii, radii, etc
ge5/14 please?
dont have
ge5/14 - like a category of literature, but diff last vowel
ge5 = DNA (1st 3 letters) + **w **w **w your boat
Thanks Vicuna and Gwen. Appreciate it.
No problem.
Ah, looked up medius in my late Dad's Chambers's Latin Dictionary -- it's an adjective and that's a whole nother matter ;-)
what are the 8 stats
I bow to the eminent emerita :-)
kees
sorry
da8/50
ha! eminent, no, but happy to be emerita with STILL 57 to go.
(Off to make dinner now.)
* * firewords * *
may I help anyone with clues?
btw, what is the noun that emerita describes?
professor
GE 5/14.?
Oh--that's English, of course, so in academia, we say Professor Emerita, which does have to be voted on upon retirement, but would be rare to be voted down.
g + you e***l for a university course etc
TY for that!
THANKS JIL
yw

I am missing all of the me6 /27s
I assume they have lots of vowels
all the me6s have the same first 5 letters
same as me5

No wonder I can't find them. I meant da.

kap, the me 6s build on the me5
the me5 is newspapers, TV, etc
Yeah, but I thought I hade the mid-line and plural of me5...I don't see where else to go
I like "Mr Quayle explires" clue
Do ALL the me6 start with me5???
kap, the others end in consonants

Theyre all me6/27--just the last 2.
AAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!
Oh, Ill ask you for the so 6, and if I have to bag it with two left, so be it
we've clued both several times, kap. One is the Latin pl of the newspapers, the next is the strip between lanes of highways, with the cons up to the left of the last letter of the newspapers
kap- maybe what a cat would say?
I have the little cat one
I don't understand what my problem is
they are NOT all me6/27-- the last 2 are me6/24
do yu haVE THE FABRICK ONE?
OH! you're asking for the last 2 me6/27s!!!
the first is the past tense of the cat noise
Yes Jill- are you trying to make me insane?
the second is the past tense of the net stuff
THANK YOU
We thought you were asking for the me6 words which followed the me5
paul lynde almost had a conniption fit there
calm down.. think of your blood pressure
No-I had those from the beginning! I KNEW there couldn't be any more words starting me5 and ending with a consonant
Just give me so6 and I'm going to lie down
Really, 20 minutes looking for words I already had.
Life is too short for this.
Did you ASK for the last 2 me6/27s or just the last 2 me6s?
Sorry -- was just trying to help, not help drive you insane
hello all!
Thank you for the clues. I got fireworks!
wow - is this a good time to come on, or should I stand well back?!
Uh, yeah, I did. At least I think I did. So6?
Hi nancyboy :)
so6 -- French spelling of an African country
It's a great time. I am calming down. Can gram help with so6? Do I have to beg? :)

Nancy, valentine's day is a nothing for me -- how about you?
Anyone need any clues? I will try not to lead YOU down the garden path.

I did my bargain shopping at Kohl's... 3 trips in past 3 days

spent about $110, and got 2 dresses, 1 pr shoes, 1 pr boots, a blouse, a pair of pants and a watch
those are good deals too nrkii
ooh my best score this weekend was a bar of ghirardelli pepper mint bark choco left over from christmas - for $1. nrk that is great. i have trouble with broken sizes at kohl'. did you get spring stuff?
broken sizes?
the dresses are for weddings I'm going to in the summer
the pants and shirt are for now, and the boots... the shoes are year round
yes that is when they do not have the range of sizes. retail talk
sounds like good shopping deals
one of the dresses doesn't fit me, and may not fit me still at wedding time, but it was $13 and gorgeous so I took the chance
Hi Shirlockc
the other dress fits me perfectly, but will be too big by wedding time, so I'll have to have it altered... still that one was only $21
I'm on a 26-pounds-in-26-weeks diet
so far 5.8 pounds in 6 weeks
well if you like them and have the occasion why not snap them up?

back, with a bowl of homemade chicken corn chowder
i'm missing a top E... have ed5, em4, et4... any help?
ed6
whoops, ed6 is what i meant, not ed5
I'm missing a K
glad you spoke up because I was starting to look for ed5
there's a ku4
ty
sorry hursh, I'm missing same E apparently
emeu
aha, there are 2 em4.
oh wait
2 em4
snap :)
and sorry about that
missing a couple of G's too
no, i didn't see your post, i just found it same timeish
ga5, 4, 5, 4, 4, 4 ge4, 5 go4 gr4, 5
ty
down to 5 now
i have ad5, 2 ag4, and ai4/5 combo... what do i miss?
2 ad 5
hmm i have too much junk food here and it is calling my name
ty, got it
how bout the left D - de4, 7, 4, and 2 di4... what do i miss there?
di6
thanks wildcat

no a
oh, no, i know!
*sings* bring forth the royal di6 and crown him lo-ord of all!
yup
2 left
yw how bout a couple from that middle D?
an M6 and an S6
whereas i am now at 5, where you were before
da7 metrosexuals in times past, perhaps?
da8, the most so
lol have those
wow i am just not seeing words
de6 knock down a peg or two in rank, and pl
the rest are all 4's with a couple plural 5's
s6 help please?
did anyone see the lash mob dance in vancouver last night?
i'm missing 3 S's and 2 M's... including S6 i take it
k ty
damn the key is wonky again :/
what key? what's a lash mob dance?
the f key
so... it was a flash mob dance?
as in, dancing with flashing in it?
at least that's better than if they were whipping each other with lashes...
as in flash mob, mob which gathers when summoned via twitter to show up and do something.
oh, that's better than both
i am relieved
ooh is jil ihere or flosey?
nrkii, were you implying there is just one S6?
found s6... North and ***th + VP Quayle
i would find that a helpful fact.
yes, there is only one S6
fireworks!
ok, then i need 2 M6 and S4/5 combo!
i am loving the coverage of vancouver island, putting bs on my to visit list.
yay nrkii!
there are 3M6 that play off the TV, Radio word
wtg nrk!
thank you, didn't have the 6/27
there is no S4/5 combo
that 6/27 was my last word... monkeys found it
ok, just a 4 and a 5 then, not combo, i was just being hopeful
:)
so besides those 3 and the merging word, what's the other m6?
down to 11 here
cat word hursh
go Owl!!!
oh *shame*
but it IS hard to see things with that many vowels in them and all twisty like... at least i had the present tense.
no shame... very twisty word
this grid is twisty
down to 2 hursh?
yeah, those s's
what's the point total?
se x 5, sh, so x 3, st x 5
sorry, 1434
answered wrong question!
lol :) helped though
done!
needing anothe break
yay hurshy!
how many to go Owl?
10 and some should eb so obvious it's embarrassing
how do you know if you don't have them?
i am falling asleep, lot's walking today!
they might all be weird.
because i just got the list and when they are between two known words there are only so many possibilites
there are some very strange words Owl
Oh, Owl, by the way, I found out last night that "broiled" grapefruit can be done in the microwave too
broiled grapefruit?!?!?!
I was feeling lazy
nice!
recipe is in my profile hurshy... very very yummy
better under broiler than in microwave, but pretty damn good in microwave
but i don't like grapefruit
I just used brown sugar for the microwave version
then you probably wouldn't like it hursh
you could try oranges, if you like them
just brwon sugar on them?
I might try that at some point
for the microwave version, I just used brown sugar
it combined with the juice from the fruit, and made a nice syrup
i had almost vegan lunch at a vegetarian restaurant today. tomato couscous soup, vegan bread, mango lemonade, and a vegan chocolate cupcake. but i put butter on the bread.
I have had 1 vegan meal in my life, and I never ever want to repeat that experience
this was very good, very filling... i felt like it was hard to believe it had been healthy, i felt more like i had indulged. could really have skipped the cupcake.
if I remember correctly, I went out an hour later and got a cheeseburger sub
I'm with you nrkii. I love my veggies, but I couldn't live without real pizza
the bread they make at this place is REALLY good.
I remember the Christmas dinner my d.i.l. cooked us, an "unturkey"
vegetarian I can handle, in moderation... though I'd gorge on pasta and gain 20 pounds in about a month
yeah, overall in life, i cannot live without cheese.
ugh, if you're going to go vegetarian, skip the unturkey and just make a veggie lasagna (see? pasta)
I can't go without meat/cheese/dairy (ice cream and butter)
I mean I could, but ... I'd be miserable without chicken and beef and eggs
i agree in one way, better to make the best of veggie stuff than have bad substitutes... but it's the bad substitutes that lead to better substitutes and eventually there will be really good substitutes, and then we can all eat really healthily without much of a sacrifice!
oops, just noticed the time.. must run
have a great night all!
i found that for me, a high protein diet works well. better than vegetarian.
night nrk!
i have high cholesterol so i have to try to lower it.
plus i have animal ethics concerns, so while i don't eliminate meat from my diet altogether, i do try to at least minimize it to a level where if that were the norm, it would be sustainable without the horrible factory farming we have now.
and then there are the environmental/energy factors, social justice factors...
evening all! Anyone have a clue for the de 7/36? Not the lowering rank one.
why a doornail, dickens didn't know. he would have thought a coffin-nail was the de7 piece of ironmongery.
but he didn't want to doubt the wisdom of his ancestors.
anyway, the main point is that marley was de4.
if that is not entirely clear, then there is nothing particularly wonderful about the story that follows.
good clue hurshy
anytime you can involve dickens, it's bound to be a good clue.
any time you can quote Dickens, it shows you memory is intact
took me awhile but I got it! thanks!
oh, that wasn't quoting, that was doing my best. if i were sure of the exact phrasing, i'd have used it and put it in quotes. i really ought to memorize that beginning bit but haven't. i love that bit.
I think you are still doing well.
well i ought to be, i'm not old or anything.
one more clue for fireworks --- how about me 6/27? Not the cat one or the extension of me 5/14.
start like the news but end with the commercials.
ok, got that one. I think I'm missing one more me 6/27 though...
there are only 3 me6/27.
pt of the me5
sorry pt of the me4
bugs i am loving seeing bc, it is beautiful
Thank you!! Dang those twisty ones :-)
oh you said you HAD the extension of the 5/14. sorry. so you need the one where we had good synergy, we me6 well together.
but you got it.
yay
thanks to all! Great clues.
Hi Babblers! How is everyone?
hello my babble friends!
Hi Owl. I was distracted watching the skating. BC is absolutely beautiful!
hello everyone!
hi trif! how are you?
and lbd, bugs to hurshy....
Hello to the crowd who just arrived. I must focus more!
oooooh, bugsaw, I am so jealous! we don't have the skating on yet - everything is juggled around to be in prime time....arrrgh
love the icon lbd!
i am fine red, dear. how are you?
oops - i need a different icon!
It is still early yet Trif. the inexperienced ones are on now.
better now. off work and house guest not here anymore.
enjoying the quiet, red?
at least you get to see all the skaters...they only show us the top 10.
ooh, guest is gone! I was wondering how that was going. how did it go? LOL
hello kids
scwabby!!
Yes, our coverage always includes more than just the very best and it helps me get the idea of just how hard it truly is!
hi scrabs, trif, bugs, red, and crossy
Hi Cwossy! Your country is doing a great job with the Olympics!
howdy ibd
ty scwabby, but they should of had it here near me,we have lots of snow;))
Fortunately I can watch CTV and NBC here. I prefer CTV as NBC does not show as much live coverage.
JEALOUS.....
amazing talent at the olympics. just wish nbc would share the world's view and not just the miopic viewpoint of nbc
ctv is also our preference
crossy, you have changed your icon!
just for now trif
are you watching all the kerfuffle over the broken zamboni and how it is disrupting the racing? I am embarrassed.
I wonder - does anyone else find themselves saying "ouch ouch ouch" as they watch the mogul ski competitors? oh, their knees!!!!
I am watching that on CTV now--embarrassing
((((crossy)))) didn't realize your loss.
tyvm ibd
Oh, no, did your cat die, Crossy?
im sure if everyone relaxes, they will get a zamboni going...
oh, crossy - I just realized why you changed your icon....so very, very sorry
yes she did scrabbs
They spent all that money on a state of the art facility and used a piece of junk to clean the ice .... heavy sigh
tyvm trif
sorry crossy i know you shall miss you kitty.
zamboni...what a fun word and a funny word!
the colon cancer just ate her insides up,she went from healty cat to having to put her down in a month or so
Oh, Monkey Cat...was she comfortable, Cross?
crossy the problem is it melted the ice and that will take a long time to refreeze
tyvm red
Oh crossy! how sad for you all
isn't that what zamboni's are supposed to do?
she is in a better place now bugsaw
It is SO tough to lose a beloved pet!
the zamboni smooths the ice but I dont think it can freeze it any better.
indeed scrabbs
I want to be a speedskater.
she will be welcomed by all the other beloved pets across the rainbow bridge.
a zamboni melts a thin layer of ice and spreads the water in a fine layer to refreeze and fill in gouges and cracks
my minister used to repeat a nice poem - when I get to heaven/first thing I'm gonna do/is grab myself a fishing pole/and whistle for Old Blue....
key word is thin layer lol
i want the body of a speedskater...or maybe just ohno's body next to me! :)
Apolo! What a hunk!
me too Scrabbs...I want to feel the whoosh.
hi, folks (lb! you vixen!)
I think the moguls would be good except for the two fancy leaps into the air. Of course, I would never walk again normally after one run.
Hi welki! (yeah, don't tell hubz)
The whoosh of skating or of Apolo next to you?
All I know is that I am 100% likely to fall right on my buttsky right after the zamboni finishes a rink, guaranteeing I will be soaked.
Hi stidg
here comes jeremy .. race 1 ... let
i'd be whooshed with Apolo next to me!
let's see what happens
skating, I think Apolo is nice, but...
mmm..women speed skater tushies....
I laugh imagining what my mogul time would be....45 minutes? and hour?
hi stidg
picture them covered with bacon, crossy.....
some things i take without bacon
hot dog! i was hoping so much that he'd grown up since last olympics .. and he's now in 1st place!
Welki, we are seeing different coverage!
i saw a dessert with bacon in it. chocolate mousse, peanut butter granache and bacon. looked really good, and duff goldman said it was to die for.
what are you watching?
Welki, I am watching CTV here
moguls look like bone jarring fun...
nbc is all i can get..
^5 Scrabs!
We can go on the Vancouver Olympic web site and pick up who is running or performing in the different events. There are some videos but sometimes it is just a simulation of the event.
shoot those mogul skiers can take a run down our main streets for bumps and thumps
moguls are bone jarring fun red. When I was young and wild, they were my favourite
the skating is back on again.
cool bugs, i have been afraid to go down hill ever!
di7?
okay, have to share what is hands down my favorite olympic story: picture it -- junior year of high school, 1982. I am sitting in an ass-numbingly dull Ancient History lecture, and our teacher is describing how the original Olympics got started, and how, in ancient Greece, the Olympics were held in the nude, to celebrate the beauty of the idyllic male form. The class joker behind me yells out "oh gross! The bobsled!" Chaos ensued.....still makes me laugh.....
OMG LBD!!! excellent one tonight.. made me choke on my tortilla - LOL
well, the prediction that the speedskating ice would lead to bad times is out the window .. they're better than before
di6 instead, shirl, ***monds are a girls best friend + not republicans but ***ocrats
Ha, Trif
any of you remember the gymnast nadia commenich in the late 70,s?
yup...
of course, crossy!
LOL trif... I'm guessing he didn'y make it too far
1976, Cross
I'm glad you like it, Kje.
He lives in australia now, actually.
thx, lbd
i still remember watchingher do her magic
she was an awe inspiring gymnast
I remember olga korbut too
heck, i'm old enough to remember olga korbet
I do not remember korbut...
I was telling my kids about the chinese gymnast who performed with the broken leg....anyone remember him?
I know the name...but.
Nadia lives in Norman, Oklahoma now. She and her husband Bart Conner, an Olympian also own a gymnastics school!
osted
hehehe .. how about cathy rigby? another gymnast from the past
sorry.
hi nammy!
ad5 the first?
poor cathy rigby - everytime I hear her name I automatically think of feminine napkins....what an association!
trif that is terrible!
ad + kar*** abdul jabar
french for so long, farewell...
I think of Peter Pan when I think of Rigby
i think of mary martin when i think of peter pan
oops, what welki said
well now NBC is doing a special on the polar bears, I would rather prefer..some sport?
ty welki could not get those ad letter together.
me too, welki, mary martin
I think of peanut butter when I think of Peter Pan
well, i can't help it! she did so many ads.....
I think of peanut butter when you say Peter Pan.
olga was russian if i remember right, and was winning gold about the time i was taking gymnastics
amen red, amen! enough with the filler, get to the freaking sports already!
but does anyone think of tinkerbell?
there are tons of events! why discuss polar bears?
they did a story on her later... her life was pretty rough as an athlete in the saviet union during the cold war... she was taken away from home as a toddler almost
yes, and thanks for only showing the medal ceremonies between 2 and 3 am nbc....
Not very often do I think of tinkerbell. Only when the bell rings for the Jimmy Stewart Christmas movie.
*singing* i won't grow up, i won't grow up, i don't want to go to school, i don't want to go to school, just to learn to read and write and obey some silly rulessssssssss*
HI Stidgmere!
let's all write nbc and tell them what pooh heads they are for their one sided reporting of the olympics.
Nite Lbd! C ya in Dville
i still feel that way, welk... but now about work
night night, nammy. see you in dville
I think that they did a better job on the SUmmer Olympics...
Trif I think the gymnastics man with the broken leg was Japanese. I watched that and have never forgotten what it took for him to keep his legs straight and then land on them. guts
if you want a response from the network, it'd be quicker for you all to move to canada
I think I associate peter pan with sandy duncan....
*sigh* KJE
peter pan? either J.M Barrie or the peanut butter....
oh, okay, bugsaw, thanks!
ad5 the first? anyone?
"I dont wanna work, I just wanna bang on de durm all day...."
clued 7:47
does anyone have an up date on lickety and mr. pres's daughter?
oops, did i miss it?
scrab... today I was consenting a patient for a study, so didn't know him from adam, and he started coughing then skumped forward and became unresponsive... my response... oh sh**!
a + re**** the coupon for peanut butter.
Went home on antibiotic treatment, Saturday, I think
ooops kje.
thank you scrabbler. scary time!
thx for the clue
I had a dead man today. but he came in dead so it was not exactly trying.
Patients have cardiorespiratory arrests at the stupidest times
thankfully as I started to lay him back while simultaneously flattening the bed in prep for CPR, he came to
is he okay, kje?
scary stuff, kje!!!
So does he get to be in the study or not Kje? Hard for him to judge the usefulness of any course of action. Glad he got conscious.
im so impressed with you medical people. the things you go thru day to day
yes, he is fine... just coughed so hard he stopped breathing for a sec, and triggered a vaso-vagal response... he was fine as soon as he woke up
Red, when I finally realized that--patients arriving DOA--I relaxed about the codes
it was just kinda funny cuz I wasn't there as a doc... didn't even have my stethoscope... was just there to consent him for a study
hi everyone
It was a paperwork pain, but the worry was just not there.
hi andree
andreeeee!!!! welcome!
Except with kids it is brutal emotionally for all involved..telling the parents...the worst
Hi Andree
LOL scrab! yes, they can be quite inconvenient
well, i hope the hospital doesn't lose him in the paperwork.
with kids there is never a true DOA where you do stuff...
re: most inappropriate time I mean
not sure I am loving the spray painted day-glo snow job at this olympics.....
Oh no, I sent him to the Medical examiner. and did a lot more paperwork than I wanted to.
yes... death in route or in the field is a pain... for the family too due to the whole ME thing
i guess most of you are watching the olympics, we get the highlights at 9.30 at night so disappointing, foxtel was offering 4 channels for $50 dedicated 24 hours and stupid me thought i would see enough on t v channels, the worst $50 i didn't spend... I am so mad with myself
my mom died IN the hospital, and they still managed to lose her and her paperwork.
we try to preempt that for our geri patients. the police will call, and we'll tell them the death was expected and we'll sign off on it
He didnt have an MD willing to sign the certificate. It is always sad when someone passes.
LBD that is awful!
how LBD? that is almost impossible
sorry Andree, our coverage is not what we would expect either...
that is sad, red
andree, we were not given that option this time around, and I wonder how people feel about it. I could not have gotten the full coverage, but the spotty coverage is just so inadequate
yes it was, red. My poor dad was already traumatised, and then they say she was sent to the funeral home. the funeral home said, nope, they didn't have her.
i tell my students if they ever get to the point where someone dying does NOT affect them, they need to quit medicine
Well enough words for me tonight. Ill leave some for another time. Hope your evenings go well and you stay strong and happy.
oh my dear lbd, that is just horrible!!! I am so sorry
Oh no, I probably need to quit.
usually everyone is signing off, lbd, so should have been able to track... I am sorry that happened
all in all, the hospital of course had mom in the morgue, and the paperwork was sitting on some judiciarys desk due to crossing county lines!
doesn't have to flatten you, but should always make you pause... it is a life
at least you have an excuse trif, i had the option and didn't take it.. as i live with daughter and we share expenses i could have had it all for $25
indeed. I always wonder about the person...
goodnight stigmere
night night, stidg
night stidge
good night stidgm
i won't enter death conversation, i am like red a trained nurse and though its been many years since i nursed i still saw much death thats not even counting friends and family
Death of humans doesn't bother me. I'm sad for their passing, but it doesn't tear me up like it does when i see an animal hurt or roadkilled.
Olympics is more interesting!
red - today a patient told me he was a new diabetic only because they lowered the limit for diagnosis... this as the RN is sticking him, so I ask her, what is it? 190 she says... I started laughing and told him that is a diabetic by any definition.... it is funny what ideas people get in their heads
Ok is it me, or has this grid been essentially not too difficult...
okay, topic change! Montana's weather is so weird! on the west we have 37°F weather, on the east of the mountains, they are below zero!
it is you lbd
I had a patient scream at me because her sugar was 97, and not 220....
i thought it was OK at first... then I got down to around 20 left... grantyed, most were brain farts, but still...
she thought it was too low?
I am down to 35, started about at 8:20 or 7:20 by the time clock here.
yeah, grid wasn't overly difficult today. just perfect! after the last couple.
She thought kje that we were lying to her.
kje, my mom used to tell us stories that flipped my wig on an almost daily basis. the stuff people believe indeed! one memorable one was a 17 year old girl that was basically the town pump, but didn't use birth control, because when she was 4 she had fallen down some stairs, and her little Italian grandma had told her she would never have children because of that. geesh!
brb, need some tea
She had a bit of several other disgnosis.
LOL red!!! I can almost hear that
poor thing, trif! wonder if that affected her promiscuity
heds
oops
did she have kids trif>
Trif that girl probably had another diagnosis too. lol
nada red... no worries
absolutely kje! she figured she was free to run wild, as she couldn't get pregnant. Guess what? WRONGO gramma!
first de 4/6 please....
or should I say "great gramma?"
laughing at description of town pipe , an aussie saying is "town bike'
but more than that.. I wonder if it affected her self-worth... in that era, I bet if you couldn't have kids you figured "who would want me"
jeff, I have not alive...
pump not pipe
drop de** fred
st7 please
HELLO all! sorry I missed Mother ... anyone need help?
35 helps please Mama...
hi stid
st7 - PT of st5 rainfall and lightening
and I want someone to cook me a real dinner..
oh, golly - nine of clock and they are juuuuuust going to start showing the skating - American pair first, of course. sigh. so much for the melting pot!
sorry, nine o' clock....
ah, red... I had pollo salsa tonight... fab grilled chicken marinated in spices with beans and a salad
I managed today to write (very little of any use though), get dirt under my fingernails without hurting my hip (20 minutes, felt lovely), make lasagne, wash dishes, and re-organize my binder for school. Tonight, a note to a faculty member and more reading.
kje, may I come live with you? when you thaw out that is...
I had a migraine at work, and threw up mid shift (ambulance fumes)...so toast and tea now.
wow, stid!!! well done you!
very productive stid
owie red *offers cold ice pack, warm blankie and fresh tea*
of course, stid... mi casa es su casa
but i want pizza....
eeewww red... go to bed
i feel much better now.
cool! *packs bags for july when the spring melt should arrive*
LOL - july in TX - are you freakin nuts!?!?!
I would invite you to my place stid, but I have a new moratorium on houseguests.
ready for 100+ temps, stid?
okay, skating is starting.....gonna be babbling with one eye now
:-D hm. maybe YOU want to move in with ME?
later trifioso
was it really awful, red?
ah red.. stid would not be THAT kind of guest
thx kje
it was.
yw
it's okay red, I am not real fond of florida (no offense, but cockroaches and bugs freak me out)
oh dear. I am so sorry. at least he didn't stay 3 weeks....
I have not seen a cockraoch in forever here stid...
red... I think I would be offended at that - LOL
hmph. TV is harping on internet addiction again. I think it's bunkum. I think it's an invented problem that is being promoted to make shysters rich.
I know! I am not buggy!
really red? *reconsiders idea of florida* I saw a lot in Orlando, and in Puerto Rico, and a few when I was a child in Virginia.
kinda funny that the TV is harping on addiction... as if TV addiction isn't a problem in a nation of couch potatos?
dunno stid, there is a couple who live under me, very very obese, have this dual computer set up, each time I pass...they are playing games...
well, stid there are bugs.
That is a problem of people not wanting to move, kje -- I suspect if the computer didn't exist it would be the TV. Or the library books.
OK, speaking of bugs.. think I will take a long hot bath
oh, sorry -- I meant red on the obeses people...
see ya... happy babbling
that sounds divine, kje. enjoy!
hi stid
I plan to stid... with a book ; )
nightnight, kje
hey LBD
clue for the 8?
gah! $14,000 to go to this internet recovery ranch thingy! *hands on hips* see... I told you it was a rip-off
red, the most yankee doodle
ty stid!
da8, superlative of the da7
that is TWO YEARS of grad school! That would pay my tuition for the whole master's program! *faint*
you gt to go to a ranch..?
LOL there's a quiz one can take.... any guesses where??? roflmao
brb gotta try this silly thing.
hi everybody. How are you all tonight?

go andree! hi nef, hi ellen
ge + **w your boat ashore
HI all!
i have not had time to check email, we have had 2 very longggg days at work...
geero
that was bogus. a series of questions, almost all of which can be interpreted as "denial" or "problem" no matter how you answer... and no results! LOL
sorry, forgot a letter in there. ge + letter after M + **w your boat...
Oh, dear red. Hope you are surviving
hi lbd., hi Ellen

whooooo hoooooo ANDREE!!
YAY andree!!!
WTG, Andree! WTG, Ellen! WOO HOO for both of you!!!!
Well, I have some writing to do, and some reading. Neither of which are internet-based, unfortunately! I will have to look elsewhere for addictive activities (does excessive plant catalog reading count, I wonder?)
hmm, excessive...might lead to addiction, stid. ;-)
Nef, be careful with your cough. Push fluids, warm steamy showers, etc etc.
Oh no Nef, time to rest.
*concerned mama look* it's too easy to keep going when it's "just" a cough.
now to get some lunch, happy babbling all
see you-all again soon! *poof*
have a great day, andree
bye bye, stid
stid, I've done all of that. I'm just glad that I did because I might have been really sick (the cough just seems to be a pain now rather than a symptom
bye stid! Bye Andree!
any Y clues, please?
ye + England is the ** pt for the 6
tx lbd
Wow! Watching the Olympic coverage and trying to figure out what is wrong with the ice on the speed skating oval?
that was awful....
apparently the zamboni malfunctioned and melted the ice, nef
they were saying that they have 3 machines there and none worked right ? (My dtr was a spped skater in high school)
yes, it caused ridges in the ice....
clue for the te 7 please?
lots of cute little te bears
NM -found them!
or skimpy negligee
ga 5/18?
that is so weird! We live less than a mile from the MN John Rose Oval and I've never heard of anything like that happening here. (the John Rose Oval is the largest refrigerated ice rink in North America; lots of speed skating races here)
ga + double consonant + 3rd vowel
ty lbd
it is odd, I dont know much about ice.
no idea, Nef. it does seem odd that the machines would malfunction like that

does he taste his food before he puts salt and pepper on it?
sharing a coffee is a nice way, without the long time if you dont like him
very important question - and does he like all the foods i hate and/or hate all the foods i love?
well i already like him, we spent 3 hours together last week, and have been texting daily since
that is sooooo sweet
where did you meet him?
we met rock climbing, just randomly started talking and kind of never stopped. very witty barbed flirty, my favorite. then we harnessed up and did some partner climbing with the ropes
how cool is that!!!!
Suefrad625,would you like to me4/5 me in the PB?LOL

i don't have any da's!
NM, the da 7/8 are related, but by comparatives, not pl
Thanks, pipp...I believe I have that as the 4th me4-6. It is the one after the cat singing
Thanks, anyway.
okay peach, in that case it would be a loosely woven fabric
:0(
jen, a da*** is a fop. two of them are da7. the most superlative one of them is da8
a fop?
May I have a clue for di 6?
now we might call him metrosexual - snappy dresser, vaguely effeminate, very appearance and clothes oriented
car, a crown
TY!

Thanks much, pippingeek.
okay, jen, if you have a sweet tooth you like to eat ca***, right?
okay
so make it a da instead of a ca

Swirls of water...like little whirlpools

em 4/6 is an ostrich-like bird but spelled a little funny
Thank much, car.

et + abbreviation for school after jr. high

Clue for the first ad 5 please?
Got it! Fireworks!
OK, Jen...let's bring it on home! What else do you need?
i need a "t" word and a "s" word, one is 5 letters and the other 7 letters
te 7 is plural toy bears.
se 5 is a 4-door car
i swear i entered that word so many times!, one more the s 5 letter word
st 5/18 is st + the m*** shall inherit the earth
it is the st5/18 i don't have
I just clued it.

oh! you're right! I am so befuddled this evening. sorry *hangs head*
no no I appreciate all the help really
id + a way to spell the letter after L?
and beware the id4 of MArch, too
that's okay. I've been watching the Olympics and finally got that eg word about 10 minutes ago
got the march one and the thought
okay, change last letter on thought to a consonant for the third id 4
Barb, re-read stids first clue on the id
My eyes are tired... how many left Nef?
Ad 5?
goooo with the great clues
7 to go
too many, stid. Not concentrating and need to go to bed. I have 40 left; and work tomorrow so will get some sleep
night...I have 49 to go...best I have done yet
ad 5 the first a + d4
the second ad 5 is french for good bye
sweet dreams Nef
you're going great barb!
Need First ad 5
I am watching a tivo'd show about gardening. Today's lovely garden is the cincinnati zoo and botanical garden. I would travel if I could visit a different garden every day.
I clued the first one, a + d4: ad + double vowel + consonant
got it
g words needed
Ga 5
hey stid!
hey pippin!
33 left for me...
ga 5: like the 4 that follows, double consonant in the middle
STILL, pav? what happened?
got that one. thx.
the other one is an anagram, reverse the last two letters
I left to go to BevMo for their 5 cent sale...came away $110 less than I started...yummy!
gadid
LOL PAV! that's a LOT of 5 cents!
advice question - should i ask cute rock climbing guy to lunch on thursday (he works evenings and i work doubles most days) or let a little more time go by?
that would be it, grant...
oops typed it here not there. I know not to do that....
thanks grantdalgliesh...helped me too
ASK him, pippin! yes! ask away!
one more g now
it's only lunch, and who knows? maybe then he'll ask you to supper!
i mean, i only met him this past thurs, but we've been texting every night since
certain ones were buy one get the next (of the same bottle) for 5 cents...also a bottle of Gruet Demi-Sec and a couple others not "on sale"
GO Barb go!
oh, what pretty coleus... I should try those again, too.
ga x5 ge x 2 go x1 gr x2 what am I missing ????
sounds like the party is at your house, pav!
am sampling a bottle ruru recommended (sort of)..it's smooth
I think lunch is DEFINITELY in order!
another GA 4, I think. anagram the last one in your list
6 ga's
hmmm
I have only one ga4...hmmm
ga 5,4,5,4,4,4 the two after the second five differ in only the last letter
the first GA 4 is 4/7, PAV
ga5/18, 4/7, 5/18, 4/7, 4/6. 4/6
3 left. All me (2x 6/27 and 1 4/6)
got it
there are two 6/24 also grant...
well, maybe if he texts tonight i will ask him. i know he just got finished with work unless he has to stay late
got the 4's need the 5's
there are three total 6/27
the ga 5/18's are anagrams
good id4, pippin.
Got the first one.
anagrams...is that ENglish?
ugh, cagt just left a gift in the litterbox, need to get up and take care of that
anagram means it has the same letters, but rearranged.
palindromes are backwords and forwards...unless it's Indian and then I don't know how it works...
like "read" and "dear" and "dare" are anagrams of each other
why not just say "jumbled"? it's plainer English that the common folk know
cat, that is
that "indian" palindrome was just referring to the word itself, naan is a common flatbread from india
mmm, naan.
we like gifts! just ask my poopies....NOT!
i think it is one of the ga 4/6 that I am missing if I did that right
last 2 ga4/6 have same last 2 letters
ga 4/6: scots for "went" I think....
I can't get ANY G's. Boo!
woo woo finally yippy LOL
Stid...I was making laughter...I won't quit my day job evidently...
it sounds like .... GADGET!!!! *Faint*
:-D it's okay PAV, I am very very tired and distracted and not focussing well. Which is why I am neither reading nor writing this evening.
yay barb's!
um gadget...try a different form of going
Gadget, do you really mean you can't find ANY of the G words???
and greed minus a letter
i love how i had a devil of a time finding actual grid words, but i was all about the phantom "gendarme"
passes Stid half glass of Gini Soave Classico '05
so glad I didn't have that particular phantom, pippin
thanks PAV. *hoping "soave" translates to smooth when talking about wine*
28
and my bottom (row) is greyed!
go PAV go!
did either of those help gadget?
I have 2 now. Thanks!
ad5 ag4 4 ai4 5...what am I missing?
according to the wine lover's page (googled it) Gini Soave Classical "breathes rich aromas of honey and almonds, figs and dates, with more delicate floral overtones"
2 to go. Both Me 6/27. Inference suggests both are mesxxx
go go gadget monkeys!!!! *wicked mama grin*
the first me 6 adds a consonant ti the me 5/16; the other two are past tense of previous 4s
ooh, he texted, i just hadn't checked my phone! he's trying to get his schedule changed to be able to meet me at the gym thurs, yay!
there's an me5 16? odear
one more r to go
sorry, me 5/14
any news on which a I'm missing? how about th4 K's...I have ke4
Fireworks!
woo-hoo pippin!
congrats grant
time for another glass...anyone else?
have one for me since I can't
YAY grant!
ku 4/9
maybe i need one, crushes make me nervous!
have one ro 5 need the other
you have plural of memorized?
and you have juliet's boyfriend?
that's what we should call pippin's date... Ro5! LOL
i have the boyfriend
he's probably named something boring, like Dave or Tom.
the other is plural of ro4/4 "memorization"
actually it's victor, and i've never known another one
oooh! Victor! strong name, good potential there!
((pippin)) don't let me tease too much.
prob with texting is my phone service craps out after like 160 characters, so i can't even ask him out in a single text message!
nah, i can take it stid, it's fun
how about: lunch thursday 2 pm?
that's WAY fewer than 160 characters
well, my eyes are really pooping out on me, I can't see the screen without putting my face right on it.
see you-all tomorrow I hope -- or wednesday for sure. but I will be cutting back to partial grids again for a few weeks.
okay, more clue requests, less staring at me while i text the cute guy!
night stiddy, will keep you updated if anything happens
*crosses fingers for pippin and Victor....* see you later! *poof*
still cant get the ro 5 /12
ro5/12 is the boyfriend - 5/10 is learning plural
and yes, babble alows stupid plurals
evening
hi all...better late than never!
hi hoot
hi pini!
oh silly me had it plural...
thanks
just read back - why do you feel you have to ask him pip?
ugh. okay fine, i asked him to lunch, we'll see if he responds...
yw
think I can my last 63 in 24 minutes?
HA!
* crossing fingers for pip *
it's not that i feel i have to, it's that i kinda want to cause i like him and i'm impatient
sorry - only dart & grim? type that fast.
i've asked out most of the fellas i've ever been with
figures, hoot...guess I'll just bide my time until flip
Ok - just wondered
what about "The Rules", pip?
oh pini just get as much as you can
need an em 6,24 and a em6,21
f*** the rules! never got me anywhere, but sex on the first date always has (sorry if that's too explicit)
as always, hoot! :)
* giggle * gee, pip, care to tell us how you really feel? LOL
e + alt spelling of water around castle
and pl
I guess that depends on where you want to get to
got that one
over-acting
there's another one?
actually i feel pretty strongly about that stuff, that those attitudes are terrible for women and interpersonal relations and gender stuff
and plural and past tense
pip - wasn't even thinking of that. Just curious.
Oh, I know, pip...one of my co-workers swears by them...and I keep watching her miss the mark (meaning, she's still single)
sorry, had to take Precious out for a weeeee bit...back with a slice pf Tilamook sharp cheddar, a jalapeno cornbread muffin and another glass..
i'm all about honesty and up-front-ness and not giving in to arbitrary gendered expectations of how folks are supposed to act, it pisses me off
yum, pav!
you go, pav! :)
there i go on a feminism rant...
i wonder how it'll affect my new allergy meds...?
Cook's Illustrated tests foods and cooking stuff and they rated the top 3 cheddars as cabot, tillamook and cracker barrel
BF and I laughed ourselves silly since we had all 3 in fridge
I love going to the Tillamook Cheese Factory and getting squeaky cheese!!!
Tillamook in a quesadilla is great!
nah, not at all bothered by the question hootowl, it'sjust one of my hot buttons of things i think are really important and feel strongly about
no - but a grilled sandwich w/caramelized onions is super
oooh, yum
didn't mean to get you all riled up, pip...was just messin' with ya...I rather feel the same way...things happen they way they do for a reason, not because "someone" said, "this is how it should be done" ;)
no sweat
doc said this morning at 08:30 am...bright and early on my day off (pres' day), that perhaps I have an uncommon non-allergy that mimics colds and flu's...three new meds...
missing an ad
ad4 = goodbye

<3 you too, pini. i have been an anal nitpicking demon all day, i should go to bed so i can let people alone
got the good bye one
there's another, Barb?
gosh, pip, I'm not offended at all!! no worries there...no need to leave!
well i'm definitely not taking that path hoot - making lots of mistakes, but i certainly own them all
other ad5 is ad plus good self est***
and I left for college and never went back...too many people tellign me what I should and shouldn't, can and couldn't ...life's way too short to listen to anyone but yourself ( a single person for life, I am)
according to lickety there is two ad 5/14
thx pip ;)
which lone E?
not so much thinking i'm offensive, just starting to annoy myself, and very tired
left side e
leftist lone E
it's an eg4, old fashioned interjection
eg4
(kinda like a gasp)
I think that the whirlpool one - but easier
oh please! duh! fish me...(salmon only)
