WTG Grem
YAY gremlinn!!!
both st8 words new to me
any clues grem?
for the st8s?
probably just use morewords
ok, when I get to them
yeah, one ends like the an8 and one ends like a game of mimicking
st + sci-fi author, then change last letter
wow got that ty
hmmm, only one I know is Robert Sawyer
Isaac....
I know too many SF authors!
Oh yes, Isaac
got it, thanks Grem
thought his name was spelled with a z
It is
ty, good clue anyway
right behind grem with fireworks of my own
heavens, I got that st word too!
YAY josh!!!
wtg josh
I presume the An 8 is an "against" compound?
seems like every time a k shows up i learn new words
y pug
and i was wrong, one of the st8's does not end like the an8, i got some letters mixed up again
ok will keep looking
ah, thanks, got the an8
I didn't notice because I'd been thinking of that alternate anagram of the an8 earlier too
that corner gave me fits tonight with letters switching around for some reaosn
there's no Z in the name I was thinking of, but at least someone got it
Isaac's surname has a z in it...
Nope.
must be a generational thing grem,he was the first that came to mind for me
Hehe
josh -- JC says hello
has everyone left?
nope...just buried in grid
well, josh has already finished...
fireworks
wtg dart
YAY dart!!!
josh was chatting just a few minutes ago
god finally found the bloddy F***ing AN8 -was driving me quite mad!
Yes, I saw that, flosey, but he didn't see the greeting, I guess.
wtg, pug -- I haven't got it yet.
I;m still missing the last St8
don't have it pugs
wasn't really asking.I'm about fried & just using lickety to knock off what i can find without busting the remnants of my brain
st+ egyptiansun god+ ali**** (what you might pay after a divorce)
TY VM dart
ty dart -- strange word!
thanks dart
lol, now I have both st8s but nothing between
everything in between is normal

hi Dee, and good night, be back sometime tomorrow
well done, pug! And sleep tight!
sleep well flosey
night flosey!
A wild windy and wet start to the day here.
putting nose in grid for a bit...
Yes, all is fixed, dee -- it was something obscure to do with the IP address and the new broadband system the telephone company instituted.
we had high winds and rain yesterday, but today it's just cold and damp. They're actually predicting snow for tomorrow! aaarghh!
who finally figured that out?
Can't imagine not having the internet for that long jilli, mind you I rely on it for work too.
Hello. Glad to see yuo here Jilly
it was a cooperative venture, dee.
bummer ruby
hi OSGD
so glad the pooled brains came to the appropriate decision :~)
Evening herin.
hey volley ltns!!
Hi and thank gods my old High School Reunion page is lacking me
hi dart! great to see you, too; hi herin
HI OSGMA. Hi back everyone. Sorry soooo tired to type lots
the garden is just starting to be pretty again and I don't know what the snow will do
good morning, herin
Hi dart, how thie little kitty?
good question
she's good...thx...getting bigger fast tho
FM, my internet lack coincided with a flurry of orders for my book -- very frustrating. I was able to receive email sporadically but couldn't reply. Did manage to do a bit at the library and at the neighbour's via webmail
Ok I want this week to end and I need money as my social calendar of important things I need to do and buy. gasp flop
I bet!, she is so pretty. What a pain jilli but yay re the orders for your book!
there there, herin
I am going to be a not Aunt again I am so happy.
Glad you are happy but what is a 'not Aunt'
A person that will be the kids Aunt but not by blood.
Oh how great!
when I was little, we called "non-aunts" auntie anyway (mother's cousins, neighbors, etc)
And it seems that with the highschool reunion coming up the most popular boy has declined to attend
time for bed....nite all
I had a lot of neghbour aunts as a kid too. Hello everyone
sweet dreams, dart
That's lovely, herin
Night dart. Hello lynxxx!
Night Dart
night dart
hy lynxxx
hi lynxxx
bye ruby jilli herin volley fmitch poooof
see ya soon
sweet dreams Dart
I am so happy for my friends. I now get to go baby cloth shopping but I need to find clothes that will fit up to 14 pounds for newborns (I would prefer close to 16 pounds to allow growth
14 pounds! wow!
I'm not up on baby talk but isn't 14lb a big baby as a new born?
Huge!
that's a scary size! is the mother diabetic?
well my 2 were 7lb
Yep but my friend was about that when he was born. Most kids in his family are ten pounders
poor mothers!!!!
good heavens!
You won't need size 000 that's for sure
He did say for her sake that better not be the case. I snorted at him
Nope but since the seasons are changing summer clothes will be on special. I may as well say nope and by a size 1 for it
BRB time for more tea.
just over halfway -- must head for bed
gd nite, jilli
bye Jilli
Night Jilly
g'night all, happy babbling, and *poof*
goody I have time to do this grid is it friendly?
can't tell Infernal, just started
I am so tired I can't even be bothered eating tea. I think i may have a bowl of cereal
bowl of cereal for dinner sounds like a great idea. And the milk in it will help you sleep
I don't drink milk
cream?
nope
soy
hmmm dry cereal?
is it good?
Back with my mug of tea.
yep that would work but I think i need something in a straw I am that tired. mmm tea
nice meaty grid today. Passes herin mug of tea and a toasted sandwich.
drys
sorry, pb for me, I hope there's some cereal and soy!! and FM's tea
lol ruby, PB is fully stocked today.
goody, much needed
Thanks FM but honestly I think i need to have it blended in a straw
BTW, everybody, FM gave me firewoks yesterday! She is the best
oh dear, that bad herin? OK how about some soup instead?
she's a god sort isn't she
god - good!
lol lynxxx
also a god sort
thats my sort of typo :)
Does anyone have the sk5?
sk 5/20... sk 4/9 plus an extra vowel at the end
that pedestal looks a bit shaky though
If soup has a straw that would be good
TY Dee. Fireworks
congrats Anike
might be difficult for the vegetables haha yw anike congrats
big straw
Congrats anike!
I must go and do some packing - driving to Darwin on Friday
have a great day anike
TY - happy babbling
have a safe and fun trip, anike
Nice Anike - have fun
Round trip 8,600 kms - have to laugh FM
Oh my, that is a very long trip, if I was to do that from England I wonder what country I would end up in?
Sweden?
oh my, that would be like driving to Moscow from here, heaven forbid!
Darn, am going to have to google to find out brb.
Anike drive safe
Its almost a tradition here that when you retire you buy a 4WD and a caravan and drive around Australia - called Grey No6.24. We have avoided this but our near neighbours have taken off for a year
Anike you going the outside around the coast or inside?
france is so small compared to that!
first google search brought up the fract that 4000 miles is all the way around the coastline of the England, Wales and Scotland.
Ruby were I live and used to visit mum it was 3 hours on the train. Enough to go to England on the train
8600 kms = 5,350 miles
Distances in Aus and the US are so outside our conception but we are happy to country hop here.
I have to go to London in May and would take the train, but it would take a whole day each way and I can't leave the dogs (not husband!!!) for that long
so if you took in Ireland maybe it would be about the same
ruby, flying will be OK and much faster.
hello everyone! :)
yes, I'll have to , but afraid of flying....
hey mrp! how are you feeling
phantom: dynamo
Hey MrP! How are you doing, heard about the chicken incident :(
Bloody chickens!! They should be on the menu, but I can't be that mean to them!
?? tell us about the chickens!
My legs are healing slowly... was very surprised that I broke both of them though!!
hi MRP - you have been in the wars !
chicken wrars?
wish you a very speedy recovery!
must go, mr. n is back!
ok, chickens we have had in the past were taken by foxes, so the new chickens are learning to go into the coop at night... however, they didn't go in on this particular evening and Lickety forgot to put them away (he went out).
Bye ruby
see ya ruby
Hi Mr P
Mr Pres can you tell me something please
and it is almost 9am here so I must poof too.
I went up the back, in the dark, with my son to find the chooks and put them away. They are trained to hop on our arms so we can take them to the coop... As I was walking down the plank to the coop, one of the chickens flaps in my face and I lost balance... the plank went over, I went over and so did the chickens
bye FM. If you spk to Ata say hello for me
to save my arm (as I was falling to the right), I twisted my body around so my legs took the fall... and broke them!
see ya fmitch
shudder Mr Pres ouch freaking ouch. My stomach just flipped over
but, happy I didn't break my back or neck really!
mine, too
Will the healing be normal MRP?
yes lynxx... they offered surgery and metal implants, but I refused... am resting at home for 6 weeks
good grief Mr P
Good stuff - I suppose you can always fall back on those if you must
having an MRI next week, more xrays and ortho specialist will look into what is needed then. I do NOT WANT surgery cause of my bone infection history
you are making a lot of sense
oh infern, lynxx, dee et al, has been a real trial!! But lickety is home looking after me so all is wonderful!
be open to your specialist mrp... sometimes surgery is what prevents infection...
yes dee, you are right, and will do what I need to to get right
we just want you well and healed!!
He is a sweety.
thank you! I will heal well with the love of Lickety looking after me!
:~)
Mr Pres can I ask you how easy is it to get from Sydney to Newcastle on the train?
easy peasy infern!
do you need help in sorting out the train timetable?
how are you all BTW!?? I haven't been on babble in ages! missing you all terribly!
Infern, there are direct trains from Central Station to Newcastle... I can help you find the timetable for that
Ok good. No I am looking at going to Newcastle but I am desprate to go to Sydney to see a very old friend. I got the time table I can't believe you have 3am trains
just letting Stew out BBS
I am sick to death of getting on a plane and not doing what I want to do
see you soon lynxx
we have trains all bloody night!!
our trains stop at 2am and restart at 3am... I don't know what the 1 hour delay is for
That would be a right sh// for those living near boom gates
we have no boom gates in sydney
Central? or at all?
we have a lot of underground railway though!
when are you in sydney hun??
there are no boom gates at all in all of sydney and surrounding rural districts. They designed it so we can't kill ourselves by train
but, people still throw themselves infront of trains at railway stations... very very sad way to go
June. I plan on being in Port Mac at the end of June for birth mums birthday
I used to live at Beecroft, about 1km from the train station... and at 1am, the freight train would come through.... all 50 carriages... and it shook the house!
June is lovely on the northern coast!!
This is all plans at the moment. AND I could always try and 'pop in'' at your area (I know where is but not broadcasting'
If you have any time to spend in Sydney, come stay with us! Would love to see you. Hornsby is the station you can take a train directly to Newcastle
Is there a train to Port Macquarie?
No train to Port Mac. I will get to Newy first. THis is all ideas at the moment.
If you 'pop in', I would like for you to stay a while! The kids are really looking forward to meeting you! And so are we!!
Well actually I have to go to somewhere outside Newy but I am obviously not broadcasting
Gee twist my arm Mr Pres :D
There are busses to the northern coast... but I will look at what is a good option for you if you like
I have to do a whole lot of painful math first
I know that painful plan! Perhaps I can help you out
My half sister lives in Newy so I will stay near there with her. Probably on the couch as the wee lad has his nursery in the spare room
Wauchope is the closest station to Port Macquarie
Mr P I just need to a) get of my butt and find my concession card and then b) see what the train travel is cost and time wise from Melb to Sydney just because I can and I have a voucher, I also need to look at cost of hotel in Sydney and possibly Port Mac and I have to go to my Dads 70th in October. As I said $$$
I can get from Newy to Port but its the dark bits inbetween and also school holidays and times
$$$ is this year problem with us too! LOL
here is some info http://www.port-macquarie.net/por tmacquarie/gettingthere.html
Thanks hun.
I will love going to Cafe Creme in Port
what is really strange is that you have to change trains on the QLD border cause they have different size rail lines??? what?
This year there is a baby involved with my sis.
I thought that was here too the different guages
that is lovely darling!! babies are gorgeous!
Sydney to Melbourne is ok... I have taken that train a few times and really enjoyed it! Make sure you travel first class
Yep. O I didn't tell you my bestest friend in the whole world is going to be a dad I am so super excited
It is cheaper to fly from Melbourne to Sydney on a one-way flight though
I know that flying is cheaper but I am too curious about train travel
Oh that is wonderful infern!! Is he super excited about it too? I bet he is!
you can train travel from sydney... it is a lovely trip to take up the coast
He is. I was talking to his misses how is really nice and she was saying how unhappy he was that he couldn't tell me in person
oh what a sweetie! But at least you know!
It took a week of phone tree and missed calls and crappy resceiption
My brother didn't bother telling me his wife was expecting... I found out from a customer in my shop who knew his sister-in-law... lovely
nice. See that was his worry. i hadn't seen him for ages so I didn't know
Is it really 7.30??? how the day has flown! I better get the family into dinner mode! I have to still do all the directions in the household duties! LOL!! Lickety is a good man, but can't plan a piss up in a brewery!
bbl all... nice to see you infern and if you need help with the planning, let me know. Would also love to see you if you are in our area
Loves Mr Pres I will definatly do do. TAKE CARE
Anyone else about or did we scare them off
Hi Mrp how are you doing with your wheelchair xx
Good morning Babblers
herin, the train from Central to Newcastle is a lovely trip...hope you enjoy.
I hope it works for me
HI and zI need a money tree
Herin, I have travelled from Central to Woy Woy (around an hr Sydney side of Newie) with 3 k/kids under 9 and they loved it.
Excuse me I need to eat dinner or something or any thing in general that is in the fridge
I love the grand idea of train travel
not k/kids...meant G/kids
awww
if you have a DSPension or similar you can travel from Central to at least Gosford for $2:50
Need food haven't eaten much today
GO EAT!!! lol
found food. left overs annoyed bread is todays used by date and its moldy
soup doesn't work too well without bread
Cut the mouldy bits off and make melba toast.
hello again, back for a few mins
fireworks
Hello, ruby and well done, Volley.
hello haz
Haz no it is a tad more gross than I would like
more than half in the first 1/2 hour or so
ty.. now it's my turn to go make toast :~)
hope you all have a great day /eve... poofing with hugs!
husband did the grocery shopping; that's a pleasure.
I agree Ruby! *poof*
I figure that if I do the cooking, he can do the shopping - fair is fair! lol
THat does sound good RUby.
Bye Volley
I'm sure he feels put upon, but that's tough
grin
I hate press this button thing when tallking to apperaters
You should try those "menus" in French; sometimes I have to call back 2 or 3 times 'til I understand the options
They drive me nuts. if you don't press the write one you get told off
and now I've discovered the French are outsourcing some of their phone services, so I get someone speaking French with a Chinese accent!
that could be interesting
or annoying, depending on my mood
Note ANnoying is what I think
yes
edam
sorry, but not a word anyway! duh
phantom: damask
I'm, better at phantoms than real words
Good morning all. Since we are now back in winter, can anyone tell me what happened to summer and autumn?
greetings from the land of insomnia!
Hi Trif. What time is it there then?
5 am
been up for about an hour, so I figured I might as well babble. work is gonna be a hairy experience on 4 hours sleep!
Shudder. Quarter past 10 in the morning here. Very civilised!
Sally: that Theo is adorable!!!!! You are so lucky
It is so cold here and they're predicting snow for tomorrow. My poor tulips!
Isn't he lovely! And a beautiful smiley personality as well.
try to think of it as fixed nitrogen....
I have 138 words, but my word-rate has slowed way down!
Very cold here too. Freezing wind when I went out this morning, but no snow here yet.
We have snow.....
I wish you guys could see the amount of rain we have here - it is literally grinding things to a halt....
I only have 43 words so far, but have only just started. Yesterday's was a peach of a grid.
I wish you guys could see the amount of rain we have here - it is literally grinding things to a halt....
no no, haz! that means we'll definitely get it!
And gale force winds and lots of people without power. The internet's pretty dodgy this morning.
Hi Haz. Yes, I heard Ireland and Scotland had it bad.
FM helped my at the very end and I got fireworks, only my 3rd or 4th time! I am still smiling
I was sure we were going to be without power last night, all sorts of flickerings going on.
Oh well done ruby!
oh wait - here's a link to tertiare and I showing some friends...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-185tJ xaAw
my connection has been slow too, maybe because of the high winds here in France. I didn't think of that
well done ruby!
trif, why can't you sleep?
BRB - going to look at Trif's link.
I don't know ruby. happen sometimes. a big cup of coffee and Iwill be fine.
I take Xanax before bedtime and I sleep through most of the night AND have wonderful dreams!
Ok right O now I think I can do this
I sometimes do take a sleep aid, but didn't last night. live and learn....don't like to take one every night....but I guess I should have!
if I don't sleep I am useless the next day and Xanax has no lingering effects
hi herin!
hi herin!
have to go; the man needs his aperitif and then out to lunch!!
bye ruby! have a great day!
see you later ladies (or gents, if there are any on here)
Bye, ruby.
Bye ruby. Been looking at Trif's video. Oh wow, Trif, I feel for you. You are very upbeat but I know what a mess the water will leave.
thanks sally! I really appreciate you watching it. We did have a giggle putting in together, but it is getting a bit worrisome, as it rose another 3 feet or so since I made that, and it's still raining
Trifs do you have enough water?
ha ha ha herin. see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-185tJ xaAw
I saw. Wow haw big is your yard and were is that stream usually?
yes, I should have said that - where the whitest water is, right in the sort of middle. In August it won't be ankle deep
and we have ten acres here, most of it to the other side of the house
it's weird to think that now you know how my actual voice sounds, isn't it? I guess to you I sound MIGHTY American! LOL
wow
wow
I have to sort out my holidays bah
boston! boston! come to boston!
lol, yes you sound American to me, Trif! Aren't you? But it's lovely to put a face and voice to Babble friends - and your daughter is obviously having fun.
Love to I ahve to sort out 2 trips both family and one will be cutting it close to my friends newest edition
yes, I am an american, of course....but it is always interesting to see and hear someone you only know online, isn't it?
Mostly they are just not how I imagine them.
I find voices one of the hardest things to really hold in my memory of someone.
I know I could look it up - but where is Norwell?
Trifs you heard my voice?
no, i don't think i ever have, herin....trying to remember
did you post a vid when you cut your hair, or was it just photos?
right seeing if i can find a link
oh trif is that Norwell Mass?! Oh dear. We've been having rain here in Vt for days, but no flooding so far. And it's supposed to be in the 70's this weekend,
hi eva, and yes
It seems like it's going to rain more today. Is your house safe?
I don't have a basement, just a crawl space, and so far so good there, but the MUCH bigger issue is the electrical service comes in at the bottom of the phone pole in the video, and the stream is almost touching it. if it does, I will have to shut the power down to the house and evacuate
http://tinyurl.com/8c8v6v
here if you want more I can email you the guest password
damn trifs that is a pain
It sounds like you are very much on top of this all and quite calm about it. And clearly your daughter has a sense of the absurd. I can remember hurricanes in Fire Island when I was a kid and thinking it was the coolest thing in the world that our back yard was a swimming pool.
herin that was so cute! when did you make it? and your voice is adorable! I LOVE your accent!
Trifs I have sent you the album link with the password
thanks herin
have you ever had this kind of flooding before?
Um at least 2 years ago. I sent you the guest password so you can see the rest.
yes, so we are sort of used to it, but this is a lot higher than usual
thanks herin!
These photos are private. I have set a guest password on it. If any way I trust looks at Eva wants the password let me know. I do change it about once every couple of months
Photobucket is my ''private''acount
That was great both trif and herin, after all these years, seeing and hearing you!
We still have some snow around the house, but the bulbs are coming up. And this has been one of the easiest mud seasons. Oddly enough rain makes it better rather than worse...something to do with packing down the dirt particles.
Eva my friend Mel ''wanted an interview''. That is my old housemate next to me
The one with the tiny appetite.
herin, those photos are great! and that vid of pandora on your toe is hilarious
That is my girl she is a nut. That is me spinning about too on my 30th because I could
yes, I like you better with short hair though, if I may be so bold
I love my long hair in the twirling video but it was so bleached and yuck
okay, totally frustrated with the n in the fourth row, fourth column. can't budge it. is it a 'non' word?
I only have two of those trif-water creatures
I have largely ignoring this damn grid
No, try water nymph(s)
ugh. thanks!
Also na4/4, babblet.
gawd almighty, it would HAVE to be water-related! I think all the water nymphs around here have packed it in
Thanks
thanks haz. Havem
haven't had that one in a while.
You're welcome,
they
just can't type this morning! They are all having a party at your house trif!
lol eva. as long as they take all the fallen pinecones with them....
why don't you have your daughter go outside and do an anti-rain dance.. Seems like she'd be good at it.
Trifs is that Teria?
the best comment i heard was that this is what we get for sending a republican to congress. teddy is NOT pleased, up in heaven!
yup, that is the lovely tertiare herself!
And Teddy, if you think about it, also has strong water connections in may ways
eva, are you all hearing much about that poor girl in Hadley? I hope they send those bullies away for YEARS. beasts!
As I said many years ago it isn't the satanic worshiping goth kids that are a cult it is the Jocks and Cheerleaders that are and get away with everything
I still can't bear to think about that one. Although I live in Vt now, I spent almost all of my adult years in Mass. Yes, that is terrifying. More and more of an issue, and I do think that although not everything can be stopped, the adults involved are not stepping up to the plate in a comprehensive way. God knows, the are overworked and underfunded and can't attend to everything, but teaching relational skills and community building, and the ethics of friendship seems so more important than much of the academic rubbish that is crammed into their brains.
The first part of that applied to the election.
What is this about this girl? Haven't noticed anything in British media.
I just cannot accept the adults not doing more. I cannot for a minute believe they didn't know what was going on.
A student in the high school, recently from Ireland, was bullied mercilessly and committed suicide.
that is surprising, sally, as she was an irish girl, who moved to the states two years ago. she was so badly bullied by a crew of girls, and a couple of guys, that she committed suicide
Oh how sad Eva.
What a waste of a young life.
now they are attempting to get to the bottom of who knew, why the school did not help her, and prosecute the worst of the girls and boys
I hope they throw the book at them. pigs
It is happening at so many schools. With the internet accelerating what I assume was always there to some extent. But you know, I went to a very small private school, "progressive", but one whiff of cruelty to each other and we would have been called on the carpet publicly. The acceptable norms were made very clear. As dismayed as I am at the kids who tortured her, that didn't come out of thin air, and it's the adults I really am dismayed by.
sally, it is like to break a heart. I have been talking to my kids about it a lot, from all sides - don't ever do such a thing as participate in bullying, stick up for some one, TELL someone, etc.
and of cause one of those was a footballer
What has shocked me was a case here recently of a young boy with asthma who was made to sit in a corridor at school, who was struggling to breathe and not one staff member helped him. He died and some of the staff have been suspended and may be prosecuted.
the article I read on it was just so sad. She was a lovely girl, and had just bought a new dress for an upcoming dance, and was so thrilled with it. Her poor parents -- they buried her in that dress, that never did see the school dance
I will google for it.
oh that poor boy, sally!
Sally
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/m ar/29/teenagers-charged-girls-suicide
ugh, there goes the alarm. gotta charge up the cattle prod and go wake secondo from the crypt
Found an article in the Seattle Times. As you say, a lovely girl.
lol Trif.
Sorry school bullying just pisses me off big time. Too many kids are being injuried and no one gives a flying fig until it is too late
The report of the boy's death: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/mar/ 24/sam-linton-asthma-death
oh, sally, that poor beautiful boy! how we throw these children away....
Isn't it dreadful Trif. To think that adults passed him by like that. They have his death on their hands for sure.
Has the inquest been conducted yet?
i wonder - do these people really feel guilty, or are they so afraid of admitting neglect and punishment that they can convince themselves their hands are clean?
Yes Haz, it was the inquest which said the staff had contributed to his death.
He would have lived if they had called an ambulance.
you know, suddenly a big rush of water doesn't seem like such a burden.
(((hugs))) Trif.
My friends friends from when they were little kids committed suicide a couple of weeks ago. He was not even 16 and he was being bullied. It just ...///.... me to no end
gonna hug mine extra this morning. even the troll. 13 is SUCH a fun age! (ack)
Have to go and do some things. Half way. Hugs to all and be back later.
Is Madam being a little pain today?
bye sally - you are so dear, thanks for chatting today!
madam is a pain EVERY day herin, but today I am gonna remember that she is here, and mine, and lovely, and I am gonna love on her anyway
o dear. They grow out of it.
LOL that is what kadresa keeps telling me --you get them back, eventually
Sorry my net just crashed and then they had a road traffic tv advert on that is just wow I wonder how my friends mum is going to cope when she sees it.
bus stop = brb
my g/son has ODD and ADHD, (age 7) found out he was being bullied, thankfully he confided in his mum and me , went to the school principal and all is in hand now....thank gawd for an understanding staff and principal
Diz have you seen the new TAC advert they are showing for Easter.
no whats TAC?
Road Traffic adds
http://tinyurl.com/yglha5s It is very grafic but I share it because I hope that it will get the message across that people are better off being five minutes late in this life than too early for the next.
here in NSW we has some horrific ones that I don't like to watch
me an hubby don't drive anymore but our dtrs are very careful cos they have kiddos....but its not them I worry 'bout...it's the other drivers
This is ours it is 5 minutes long of the 20 years of TAC so far the road toll is highest it has been in 5 years. They only reason I shared this is my friend lost her brother in an accident
I don't drive but I have seen the way people walk and push shopping trollies and drive on the road
sorry 'bout your friend and her brother....nearly lost bro-in-law thro somebody else's reckless speeding
that is why I shared this advert. Too many people just don't think
reckon P platers shouldn't drive any more than a 'normal' 4 cylinder....non of these 'hotted' up hoon cars
How many words today please.
233
Well see there is nothing wrong with a P plater driving an 8 cylinder when it equals proper power to weight ratio
ty
yep herin I see your point
damn it
PB Herin
no it was called for trust me
Good day to all.
No one is here?
good morning everyone
Hi Bacon Boy!

oops
hello my net ust well died in the butt again
bought a TOSHIBA would have liked a dell but out of my range cos we bought me a new one and dh a refurbished dell - meant we could get an extra monitor each and a docking station
so I can have bbble on one screen and my work on the other:)
your better off with the toshiba
YAH Tanja Toshiba are awesome
oh I love it itnis beautiful to use
love my Toshiba even though it only has tiny sheep in it
dells have their own quirks and issues
lol@tiny sheep
I think it has 2gig
no got a 17 inch screen and full keyboard on this one - but it is taking time to transfer it all over
and got windows on it and it is beautiful to use
windows 7 that is
go out and get a 10 dollar 10 gig flash key and move it over a lot faster
POO Tanja that is what the B>f got and I got the smaller one
lol in the process of that but the time has been relinking all the computers - I have 5 kids and dh so we have 7 computers and a printer server
ouch
dh got the smaller one but awwe each have a second 19 inch monitor so he is happy
Now you need a home server system and you will be set.
yes I pay huge for broadband to maintain a high download limit
yes next thing but first some more money
Who you with?
herin, just come back on to say I watched your TAC ad. I don't drink and drive, but that ad had me in floods of tears. Very hard-hitting, but no doubt UK wouldn't be allowed anything that might "upset" people.!!
amnet at the moment - we were originally arachnet then they got taken over but it has not been worth swopping unitl I buy a domain name and I still get 10 free email addresses as well
I know that IINET is fairly awesome.
Sally thank you for watching. This was on after 930pm. It is to remind people to stop and think over Easter
The tree accident got me the worst as that is how my friends brother died, he fell asleep at the wheel and hit the tree and his 2 friends drove past and left him on the side of the road
bout the same in cost - wont give me the extra email addresses and have to change emails but yes iinet and westnet and amnet are the big ones here
I am shocked at how some of my local friends drink and drive. Luckily both I and husband can have a good time on a soft drink! Cheap date, that's me :-)
Why did they leave him herin? Had they been drinking?
sticky puzzle tonight
trade
Didn't give a crap is the concenses. They saw the wreck decided that whom ever was in there was dead and kept driving. They got to the party and realised that he wasn't there and it filted through that he was in an accident down the road so they went back and did the whole omg terrible
woops

Never quite sure how to clue some of these, Mom. I prefer to have a definition if I ask for a clue, but most people seem to want it more spelt out :-)
Oh I got it...when you said "to spoil" I couldnt get "rot" out of my mind..finally saw the light..thanks, sally
lol Annie, that is what I kept looking for
I will take any type of clue, Sally, beggars can't be choosers
But you had the second letter, so you know what that three letter sectioin started with!!
I don't have it boo, but I will help you look
I seem to scatter "i"s in my typing at the moment.
Sally, I knew the second letter but the mind was playing tricks on me. :)
sally, I wasnt thinking of the second letter...was just going from your clue..which was a good one
an4 against + "" de plume (pen name) + sometimes vowel
Hi Une!!!
I had never heard that part for spoil before
Hi {{Une}}
I have already clued an8: four letters meaning "against" followed by one's *** de plume, plus a sometimes vowel.
OK now last clue mi7, please?

Fireworks at last. A hard one today I thought. I just wouldn't have got some of the words without my monkeys. Does anyone need a clue before I go?
yes, please Sally. an8/55
did anyone ever get the last st 8?
an8 is a controdiction in philosophy, starts with the usual prefix
an 8/55: four letters meaning against, plus *** de plume plus sometimes vowel.
Sally, can you clue the last st 8? please
thanks, bichon and Sally. got it.
st 8/55: four letters which are an anagram of what twinkles in the sky plus cash without the "e"
ty Sally, enjoy a feline afternoon :-)
lol, ty bichon. Poof!
i did found it in morewords
fireworks !!
grats sally & mills
hooray, mill
s and Sally
yea mills
Just 90 to go!
hi all - has anyone got the no 8 please
no 8 is a movie which hasn't passed the censorship review board
ta vm bichon - wouldn't have got that with a month of sundays
I got it from a similar clue
Kazzer I like your walking plan. Hubby and I want to walk in the Cotswolds
Cotswolds are lovely but i prefer the scenery along the coast - its in my blood
we would love to do that too. We walkedthe Kerry Way in Ireland. It was grand
that sounds good as well - one of the other walks we might do is the Lleyn Peninsula - its another 95 mile wlk but we could do it when we go on holiday
Somehow walking in Britain seems much better than walking in the US
i have never been to US and we only relly started walking in the last 3 years or so - there are many more places i'd like to go if we could afford it
Yes, well ,the afford it is the big part. The airfare is so expensive. Last summer we hike in Norway, but we got a cut-rate airfare. Norway is very expensive.
hi, all...when our house was being built, we used my5 oil to anoint the lot and the house at various stages of construction.
Norway is expensive for us as well - some of my colleagues go to Norway on business and they always complain about the cost
I'll say one thing for the Norwegians, they are a tough bunch. The ones in our group who were our seniors [we're in our early 60's] left us in the dust
whats southbeach diet angel
I know - mind you we've got some tough old birds here. My mum's friend is 87 this years and she still goes on walking holidays - she went to Switzerland last year
no 8/45 any clues please
bichon clued earlier - flm that hasnt passed the film censor
di 5/16?
di 5/16 is a journal

i'm just not getting the film censoring clue to no8/45. Can anyone give me another?
ty cadfan
There is a censorship board. It's job is **** fild so certain ages can't see it
gran: sk5/20 = people who live in igloos. minus the first letter
ty CadFan
Thanks mitch
the no movie clue - the word is usually used as an un instead of no. This movie is un... often heard when first advertised. use it with the no instead
thanks, Cad. i'll go to work on that.
okay - I have a give away clue if you need it
it's on the tip of my tongue
no, i think i'm going to need the give away. can you whisper it?
go with no*(mice)and past tense
(it ends with ra 5/12)
negative prefix + ra 5
oh, of course! how could i miss it for so long. thanks to all of you, i'm out of my mysery
happy for you guernsey
aebmusica. do you play the harp?
sure do...all 5 of them
you have 5? folk harp, concert, welsh, irish....?
well let's see...1= leprechaun harp 2=full size concert harp 3= troubadour harp 4= yseult harp 5= Venezuelan triple stringed harp
I've been trying to learn a 29string folk harp lately.
good for you.....i want to get a crwth sometime
i'm not even sure what a crwth is. Welsh?
yes it is ..also a good scrabble word
even when i'm making masses of mistakes, i just love the sound of the harp. do you perform, or just play for yourself?
sometimes both...but i am getting too old to carry the big one around on gigs.
that's why i decided on the 29 stringer. it was the biggest i could manage
i took my 15 stringed yseult harp to the hospital when i had my surgeries... it was a nice quiet ,soothing comfort for me to play it in bed.
good morning, what's all this talk about harps?
Afternoon all....clue please for an8 please?
sorry to be harping on the subject harpjane.
hi harp, flask
Hi guernseygirl....
are you a harpist too, harpjane?
funny guernsey, my 29 stringer is my SMALLEST one. I had a 19 string but i would move my hands off the harp looking for strings
hi to all
that's my biggest problem, apart from a slightly arthritic thumb.
can anyone clue an8 for me please?
i need surgery for trigger finger but i never find the time
an8=an4-against + word for currency -e
i have two arthritic thumbs also...but not on the same hand.
it's like the name of a metal but with two letters switched round
how many letters in the lone d?
actually...anagram for currency -e
someone in our recorder group had trigger finger, but luckily for him, it got better on its own.
4 , harp
trigger finger is very painful
mine only hurts in the morning
hi rurocks.
i shove it under the cat to warm it up and then i'm good
what's the second letter, aeb?
then you are feliine fine?
must try that with my thumb
r..harp
its the opp. of wets

bichon - share the mi 5/20?
it's in a cat's vocab

and with that, back to work. last 30 for later.
I am down to 9 and absolutely stuck. help with mi5/20 please
or the ID 6 & 7 please
mi5 cat sound
mi5/20 - cat sound - fool around with vowels until you get there
not the cat sound .....
id6 - to come up with an id4, and "pl"
Why not? Are there 2?
hello everybody
thanks for the id's
oh no! I mean "oh no ... not the dreaded cat sound!"
Oh, Yeah. I would never ever have had it if Momneeds hadn't asked for it!
thanks vicuna
I tried spelling it without the a NOT
Well, it certainly isn't how I spell cat noises, hence it never looks like a real word to me.
ditto!
I think French cats make a different sound
french dogs go oua!
sort of a mieu with a wrinkled nose
its the lovely accent
or oof!
Undoubtedly. I'm thinking of the ones in the Pepe LePeu cartoons. lol
yes oof oof!
I getting to the point where I can pick up the accents of foreigners who speak good French - today there was a Russian in the restaurant and although his French was better than mine, I could tell right away. Too funny
US dogs only say "oof" if you hit them in the stomach.
looooool
I met a 8 stone labrador the other day
Goodness. I hope you were polite!
I hope he didn't try to get too friendly' you wouldn't have had a chance!
he was a barrel!
what is an 8 stone lab - I have two labs but never heard of 8 stone
I once knew a rottie who had a crush on me. He outweighed me by about 35 lbs and was all muscle. I thought it was funny, but nobody else did....
my chows are about 6 stone
a 112lb lab
I had a friends boixer that loved me!! He would sand with his paws on my shoulders and look into my face. He wanted to sit on my lap all the time. Spooky!!
hobbit's just about 3 stone
My old girl was about 95 lbs in her younger days.
awwwww the rottie next door used to do that!
I love when dogs snuggle up!
A friend of mine breeds swiss mountain dogs - now those are big - head is right at my chest without standing
rotties scare me
Good afternoon/ evening everyone
hello movieman
hello movieman
Must wander off now. Bye, all!
we are talking about dogs tonight
hobbit loves snuggling on my lap, she puts he head on my shoulder and falls asleep
bye vicuna
bye vicuna
(Hello, movieman.)
rotties used to scare me until the next-door dog came along. I just love them now
Just come back from seeing a movie that, for once, is worthy of its title........
...........
I've seen too many bad bites being in the insurance industry
.........Kick-Ass!!!!!!!!!!
what did you see
the only dog that ever got nasty with me was a yellow lab. She was a restaurant dog, lured me over to pet her by wagging her til etc. and then snapped at me.. Really odd
havent heard of that one yet
hello- no8 clue?
yes that is odd - i love my labs - very gentle and happy all the time
I think with big dogs, 99% of their behviour is dependent on their owners. I trusted Rothko implicitly, even though he was huge
My sister in law had a rottie that would savage people walking by but my daugther used to hold itds tail and it would pull her along the polished floor on her bottom then wait for her to turn round to pull her back.
Doesn't come out in the States till April
awwwwwww
my husband got bitten trying to separate a yellow lab who had attacked our male chow Rufus. Even though the other dog was bigger, Rufus could have easily taken him down and my husband wound up in the ER.
no 5 and 6 are people who live secluded lives and travel a lot
Oh No
the dog I've ever been bitten by was a Jack Russell!
they are alittle high strung
and im off to work,tc all and happy babbling....poof
bye crossy
from what I've read, the ones who bite the most are toy poodles.
Another sister in law was a nurse in Casualty and she said once she had had 7 dogs bites in that week and 6 were Jack Russels I dont trust them
help with the er7 please
I don't trust JRTs
my husband had one of them when he was married to his previous wife and it was a nasty little yappie thing
er 7 is like loss of topsoil different vowel
I have never known one and dont want to now

you missed our whole discussion about big vs. little dogs before, wildcat
beautiful but SO much work ... but she is the most fun I've ever had with a dog
it's all about the personality
is she rough or smooth coated?
max sleeps 26 hours a day and makes the walls shake with his snoring. Would you call that personality?
smooth
lol
My little girl lab is full of it - constantly wants to play. if we dont play with her, she plays by herself - hysterical watching her throw and chase her own ball
Anyone need clues - I need to get to work
ruby is like a huge (but stinky) cat; all she wants to do is cuddle. If you throw a ball, you have to retrieve it yourself while she watches.

Also thanks for the earlier cheesecake recipe ... sounds decadently delicious.
Lots of words to figure out. Yesterday was too quick, this is too quicksand.
I love it when I finally go through lickety and find that I forgot simple words like se4 or ma4 ...
Howdy, folks. Looks like a fun grid today - is it?

May I please have a clue for st8-45? Thannks
Nan, did you get the an 8 yet?
no soodle -- your clue looked more like the an 5 or 6
brb
AN 8.... first four letters - opposite of Pro. next 2 letters opposite of yes.
that would be amat -- impossible
final two letters - indicating that the object is belonging to me...
I'm back.....dogs were barking.
Well if the opposite of Pro is Anti.....
oh -- against prefix
ty soodle
Oh good. glad you got it. :)

tks, Aussieme, I appreciate that
Hi Unea! (((joey))), an8 against + weird spelling of cash
belated thanks!
you're welcome joey..... I know how my Mom was when she was wrapped...... she had to have it done every day for 2 weeks, and then, she has to wear a "sleeve" and a "glove" every day now.....
I believe that the sleeve may be in my future permanently, and something for my legs too. Don't know about the glove yet
this might seem easy but I cant find the na4/4 I have tried every combo!
well, joey, if it makes any difference, then it will be worth it.....
all vowels vlcl
it seems to be working, so I am okay with it
an6/27 please?
I swear I tried that one! ty
thats a good thing joey, believe me, I saw my mom's arm without the sleeve, it's HUGE !
the an4 before it, + second half of hy word :)
an + not off + sometimes vowel + consonant
the an is teh an 4/4 with the part time vowel and then a consonent.

hi jen
hello babble friends
hi trif ;)
Hi Trif
don't know yet, hillary
is everyone okay today?
me, neither, hillary
hey, trif :-)
I'm good today - not working and the taxes are finally sent to the accountant
well done, kris!
Lurking in okay mode ..
egads...taxes...still have to do mine...
hi tor
hey, tor :-)
hello torgone! was just thinking about sending you a message....needs some career advice, I think.....
thank you! I sold stock that I bought through an employee purchase plan, so I needed to know when I bought shares at what price.
Hi torgone - :)
Heyas all! .. and send away trifs ..
si 6/27 = Mr. Cowel + sometimes vowel
thx 67
hello babblonia
still lurking for awhile need any other clues before I go?
Hi Dorens
i need 193 words!
87 more here!
hi dorens ;)
da 6,33?
jusst came home from school board meeting.. they took my job away.
it's a vegetable kris
like a radish
Oh - so sorry
white winter radish
Just 233 to go now ..
parsnip?
git'r dun, tor!
ROFL
da + russian religious pcture
{mentally walking through the grocery store}
(thanks krisE... sympathy helps right now)
hey, dorens, thanks!!
Dorens sorry to hear....
thank you, Dorens - you can teach me any time.
* thinking *
russian religious picture?
ohmygod, dorens, you were really worried that could happen -- so very sorry!!
crying and sniffling doesn't seem to be helping. I am now in the only school district in NJ that i know of that has no counselors whatsoever
budget cut, right?
sorry to hear, dorens...
how sad for the students . . .
russian religious picture or the picture used to represent yourself
wow - a sad sight
There's a museum of russian i***s about an hour away from me.
yes, une... and they are hopeful tht some money will come along and i can be reinstated... anytime up to august 20th
(((Dorens))) o
got it (didn't know it was spelled that way)
Oh no Dorens... so sorry to hear that
crossing fingers and toes for magic money for dorens :-(
* throttles the rule makes and sends many wishes that money will come through *
counselors are so needed - I can't imagine how they can cut counselors...
* makers
what made it worse was that before adopting the budget, one board member insisted on amending the budget to include my position, which would increase the tax increase (that sounds funny) to 7%,,. and it was defeated... people who i've hung out with, board members said they couldn't in good conscience vot for a budget that would be defeated
two left, both s's... si6/17 and st6/21, any clues?
so much for intelligent thinking :/
Our Board of Ed is about to let go of 4 teachers from a small elementary school that is already operating pretty lean... also hoping money appears so some can be reinstated
sending good wishes to Dorens
but all they needed to do was find administrative costs to cut... they are listening to the superintendent, and they really shouldn;t. everyone has to work harder now, bt not him (paid over $200,000 o do very little0
hillary, the list doesn't have a 6/17
That st 6/21 word is plural of the st 5/12 word hillary
sorry that's si6/27
thanks for the st6/21
I so know what you mean, dorens...I work for some faculty who think that if I don't get them their $20 reimbursement ASAP, they can't feed their kids...and yet I don't make even 1/2 what they do!
yw
Dorens, we're worried about our budget getting defeated at only a 4% increase
Of course, he has to protect his cushy, overpaid position ..
if it gets defeated, then we'll have to cut it even more, which means more teachers... it's awful
6/27 is Mr. Cowell plus a sometimes vowel (from 67)
dorens, I just read back in the chog -- I am so, so sorry to hear about your layoff.
Hi Folks ... Dorens, what do you mean by administrative costs? Administrative employees?
oh, and we had our wages frozen 1.5 years ago...
times are tough, that's for sure. i hope tax payers see the cuts and understand.
Hello origami! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
hi min ;)
got it... si6/27 like the denying apostle
hello min!
Hi Pinikula! Just came here to see if clues are needed
Hi Min!
another 81 for me!
no origami .. i mean administration. we have the highest paid superintendent in the county and we are less than 1000 students.. two k - 8 schools.. he sits around reading the newspaper while he delegates all duties to others! it's shameful
86 to go here
Hi Min ... I've been playing little and lurking when I do :-) Not a lot of time these days.
good night all see you tomorrow
Hi Trifioso! How are you?Gotta go.I'll be back later on
hmmm. I think you have the same guy we do, dorens
sad, dorens, very sad
night night, 67
Bye sixty7stang13! I will see you tomorrow in the log
gnite 67
sleep well 67
yes nrk. all towns in nj are bleeding and wounded. christie is every bit as bad as he said he'd be. don't know who voted for him, he made it clear he was going to wage war on the teachers
Ah Dorens, I see. I'm just a little sensitive these days having to lay off 4 administrative people recently, while all the academic employees are protected. It's all just so sad.
let's cut sports and see how much money can be found>
that'd be nice, lbd...
...our AD just gave his notice and is getting a severance package of $2M!
lbd, lots of towns are doing just that. hoping folks will pressure the legislature
...I wish I could get a severance package for quitting!!!!!
that's just wrong, Pini
what?????
That's just reprehensible!!!!
!!??!! - no!
2 million? unconscionable at this point...
* sigh * that's what I think, too
agreed...we all have a wage freeze and he gets a severance package...how does that work???
schools seem to think cutting the arts, music, counselors, and filling the classrooms to over maxed capacity is okay, but don't touch the blessed sports.
I felt guilty when I ordered a new tape dispenser recently.
ah, but parents get more excited about cutting sports than anyting else
i think someone needs to go to the board of education and ask that very question, Pini. how can they do that and cut educational expenses.
May I please have a clue for si7-36? Thanks.
not sure it makes much difference, but this is at the collegiate level; still a problem tho
a square has 4 + your upper extremity that is attached at the shoulder
A pretty disturbing trend is to require those kids who play sports to pay to play. It creates a dichotomy between the haves and have-nots
thx lbd
nice clue, lb!
shouldn't make any difference collefe or not, pini
The board of education and the Council of higher education still report to the legislature. They need to be accountable!
lots of nj districts are considering that now... pay to play... very disturbing
Thanks much, lbdawger.
an6?
alcoholics an****ous
an6 is like an opposite word - minus a t
not a homonym but the opposite an...take out the T tho
thx!
it's too bad to have to go the route of pay to play, but when there's only a select number who get to play anyway...oh well.
yes dawg, but having worked for fifteen years in inner city schools, i'm more sensitive to the folks who don't have the $$, and it is unfair (even tho it may be unfair all around)
I understand, Dorens. It's not just inner cities tho. Little country schools are having the same problem. Big bucks going for things that only a few get the benefit from.
er7?
er4.4 + small charged particle
you do have a point.. just don't see a solution. my kids were never big on sports, although our school district spent an enormous amount of time and money on the sports program... did nothing for a lot of kids though, and it did bother me
thanks, lb!
thx lbd
sorry, got kicked off web for a few minutes
I think I see it being more prevelant in the country schools, because the division of haves and have nots are really obvious. (not that it isn't in inner city schools.) but Kids who drive nice cars to HS and those who wear worn out sneakers and have to take the bus.
welcome back nrkii
welcome back nrk
Dorens, it's true that Christie's decisions are hurting school budgets, but ours was in deep doo-doo before that
we were already looking at a situation where rising healthcare, energy and salary costs were outpacing any revenue increases
so we were already looking at losing at least 2 positions
well, now that nrk is back, i'll be heading for my pillows. *wink*. Keep you chin up, dorens. I know something good will come to you.
many of them were nrk.. but he has so exacerbated it.. i just don't understand why he won't even consider resuming the surtax on those who earn over $400,000 the people he's hurting are all middle class folks now... not just the teachers but the taxpayers who will have to pay the burden
thanks dawg
I'm also having trouble understanding the pay rate and responsibilities of superintendents
and a curse on the school systems who are jeopardizing our kids education!
i'm just totally furious with our superintendent.
clue for the im?
the school system I grew up in had one superintendent for all the city's schools
night night, everyone. see you tomorrow
and it was a big city 200,000+ residents
ok. shamelessly asking for clues now... tired and cranky and need to be done... as 6/30 -please?
that superintendent in that city now makes about $200K, but has very big responsibilities
goodnight lbd
I need that, too, Dorens
then you have a super who's overseeing 500 kids across 2 little schools, making similar money... ?
some big city schools often have others in central office who are in charge of personnel, curriculum, testing, etc. But in a tiny district, they should do more of it themselves
as = to look at someone funny
*** a question + picnic pest
ty
thanks, shirlockc
anyone have the im?
im? oh goodness no
i+female horse+consonant
thx!
well Dorens, keep your chin up... I bet that school will move heaven and earth to get you back if they can possibly do it!
cool thanks kris
yvw Dorens
first st8?
we'll see nrk. my prinicpal has a gut feeling, with absolutely no foundation, that i'll be back. I call it wishful thinking (her job will be thoroughly impossible without a guidance counselor!)
don't have it, shirl, sorry
I know our school board is working with the same mindset... we are losing great teachers and nobody wants that
so if other things come through, teachers will be hired back as quickly as possible
hopefully some older folks will retire quickly and make room for the younger (and cheaper) ones
we had 2 retire and have to let go of another 2...
4 teachers from a small school is pretty painful
the good news is that there is a grass roots campaign in town (including a facebook group) drumming up support ... so I hope the budget will pass
and this won't get worse
we (the staff) will go out and beat the bushes to get this budget passed.. i'll do everything i can, even if I am not included in it
our budget was defeated last year
i must say, though, that i am feeling very angry right now. good thing vacation begins after tomorrow.
I do understand Dorens
me, too
and I'm so sorry you're having to go through this
your anger seems totally justified, dorens
I hope it improves quickly
okay, time for me to go find a soft place to land
thanks buddies. that really helps. i came home, drank a glass of wine and then had major self-pity jag. didn't make anything better though
sleep-wise
have a good night all
goodnight nrkii
night nrk. sweet dreams
nite, nrkii
