i'm 39, unemployed, and childless
sounds like a good situation for partying 'til dawn!!
one of my favorite places to be at dawn is the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Watching the sun rise from there is amazing.
wow! been in DC many times, but never had that experience!
if you find yourself in DC, and it's not too cloudy, i recommend it. The clearer the night around then, the better
as usual, the first 50 words are easy, and then the hard part starts!
how are things this AM for you, ruby?
it is sunny and cold, more flowers every day, but, unfortunately, the usual DH problems.... shouldn't whine, though, it's a great plce to live and I have my dogs and garden!
:)
ty
it's clear and cold , so i'm guessing it'll be sunny here, and moderately warm
hopefully, it will be warm enough this afternoon to do some gardening
My elementary school libarian used to re4 us chillon poims

Just spagetti. And I just faceplanted the couch
I wish my computer was in the kitchen; then I could play while I cook. This way, I cook as little as possible

what a strange word wtg lyn
Hiya Mudd
Thanks for the oi 8. Are there any other 8 words?
hi mudd are you traveling for fun
oi7. I remember one time, I got the biggest zit because my oi7 was blocked.

mudd c and peter pan's nemesis

what's funny to me is ch*** for hen, never heard that before I started playing babble
Oh, I just monkeyed it.
hi Sprite!
the aussies use it all the time I think it's sweet
hi sprite
hey lyn, west, rubyfoo, periwinkle, Mudd
I sent your April 1st story to all my kids and grandkids
aw that is special, west!
and to my 94 year old mother they all loved it
we all love learning new things
sandyloo always tells about her ch***s. I love the word.
me. too, great word
I love it that you shared it, west, and thought it was worth sharing :)
has she been here lately? I miss her stories about the TOE
I share lots of things I read on babble
haven't seen her around for a while, but haven't been exactly faithful in babbling myself either. Not sure.
ruby TOE = Taxes of Evil
too funny
Sandyloo? no. not since her daughter had that op. I contacted her a few month after that, her computer was broken and her daughter was recovering - but she hasn't been on since
glad to hear her daughter is recovering
that is lovely to know, west. Inspires me to go on finding stories about the themes. Just as jillibus does.
I hope all goes well with the recovery etc.
I like trying recipes too
Did you hear about MRP Sprite?
oh yes, so do I. Am a fervent copier of recipes and then I print them and try them out.
what about mrP, lyn?
Broke her leg/s putting the ch5.22s back in their pen one night (to save them from foxes!). Getting around in wheelchair
aw she is really on a stroke of bad luck. Kind of like us here. How awful for her, and for Lickety too :(
I learned that my next door neighbors have foxes in their yard in the daytime. I guess the pups keep them out, but I can smell them sometimes
Is the ho 6,24 a hoot or what? Never saw it before.
You might be interested in the recipe on my profile Sprite. The kids could make them too. lots of fun, easy and very yummy
don't have it, mudd
putting the monkeys to work
will tell you when I have found it :)
It's a bird, Mudd. Funny name, I agree.
hello haz
Duly copied, lyn! Thank you. Do you know that the bicarbonated soda isn't available here as food? Only as a medicine for tummy ache.
hello Haz
Hello all. I'm just sneaking a few words while waiting for dinner to be ready.
at 3X the price
hi haz
hi Haz
I copied it too. Is your pup waiting for one?
got the ho6, thought it had an e at the end....
Hello Haz and Sprite. I've been lurking. Sprite, did you ever post that spinach recipe. I'm still searching for good spinach recipes that are healthy. It is full of fiber.
not finding the ho6
To the children's circular toy, add a double dose of a vowel, peri.

whoops, pb for me!
sorry
darn, no I didn't, I totally forgot to make the translation. How about I post it in my profile tomorrow?

Hi all....whats todays menu Haz?

me too peri but won't forget it soon
49 left, bbl
ok, am at the neighbours this afternoon to admire their newborn son. After that, time is mine, more or less. So I will put the recipe up.
bye periwinkle
Hello Flask - trio of melon, turkey with new potatoes, mixed veg, gravy with redcurrant jelly, rhubarb crumble and custard.
bye peri
I loved that ho 6, takes a lot of those vowels to make it, which is why I probably have never seen it before.
Mudd I will, I will put them at the bottom of the profile, ok? So be sure to scroll down all the way.
in scrab they call it a vowel dump, lol
yum haz sounds like a holiday meal
sounds delightful Haz!
Half finished ... time to eat.
sounds wonderful haz!
OK, Sprite, thanks
Just the three of us today - I'm making soup as well for lunches through the week.
hang on , rhubard crumble - on my way!!!
haz what did you do with the left over lamb? looking for ideas
Haz where do you get your ideas?
lynxx, you wouldn't believe how much rhubarb reduces down in cooking.
cold with Greek yohurt sauce
found the ho6 you've been talking about and it is a great word! Very funny.
cold lamb ruby?
rhubarb is like spinach that way. Reduces to almost nothing. But worth it.
does the bird make that sound I wonder?
yes, it's even better than the hot roast. Sauce is : yoghurt, garlic, onions, cucumber, salt, coriander, cumin and parsley
Oh, rhubarb season ... yummy.
I wouldn't be surprised, west... at least to certain ears, grin.
oh ruby sounds delicious
is rhubarb hard to grow?
My daughter-in-law makes the best rhubarb dessert with graham cracker crust, pudding, marshmellows
Oops, misspelled that one.
rhubarb is veryeasy to grow
my mother had some growing wild out by her garage
my husband, who never ate lamb before he married me, likes it better than all other meats now
good morning jmc
rubyfoo: rhubarb is like weed, it is easy to grow. And those onions, are they raw?
Didn't we just have the South American mammal yesterday, too?
do you buy bulbs or roots or what?
it is good you were able to expand his horizons
yes and also the weird way of saying Good Day!
Haz - on my profile under the Anzac Biscuits is a recipe for Rhubard Cake which is heaven
i bought a plant about a million years ago
lucky for him!
yesterday was unau, Mudd
I must copy it, lynxxx.
but it think you can get seeds too
I'll look for it
I usually make lamb and ham for Easter because only my mother and I like lamb...but then the rest eat it too
we get halal lamb and it's much less strong. French lamb is a little nasty
hey jmc!
I'll have to leave food talk and get on with the real thing! Nice to see you all.
Rhubard takes a while to get established but then hard to get rid of. Ruby - do you know you can make an organic poison for the garden out of the leaves too (leaves are poisonous)
hi sprite
bye Haz
and it poisons what? husbands?
bye haz
bye Haz
bye Haz....enjoy lunch!
i like rhubarb because it is there to pick before almost anything elsee

Flask, first part is owl sound, second part is dung
good clue sprite lol
*grins* Subtle as always, that's me ;)

Oh dear!...what next....thanx for the clues....lololol
sprite, yes, the onions are raw and I can't eat the sauce because of both the onions and cucumber, both of which make me sick! Tasty anyway, however
will go there in about 45 minutes, west, but as far as I have seen he is. Pretty face, smart eyes, lots of smiles.
see you later, 78 words to far
bye rubyfoo and thanks
oh bad disease in the grid
bye ruby
bye ruby nice to see you
has Terra seen him Sprite?
yes, over the fence in the garden! Terra is SO sweet with littles. And the baby wasn't scared at all, got his hands licked all over, lol.
animals and babies seem to have a special bond
yes indeed, if all is well with both of them.
right to be cautious
yes, I really am careful. You never know what either does and a fraction of a second is enough for bad things.

What is a baby naming?
When a baby is born in the Jewish faith the baby's name is inscribed in a book.

cool annie -- did not know that
Oh so you don't get to actually Name the baby. It's a done deal.

and fyi, what's with the pollen out here...all i do is cough
lol, probably it will be 15 years again
pollen, pollution, what are you talking about? No pollution and I start coughing.
i got rattly lungs over night!
welcome to the rattly lungs club,we have jackets..and inhalers;/
yeah, i should get out my standard issue geeks inhaler
What have you done so far? Nutty, are you visiting museums? If you are go to The Frick on 5th avenue and 70 or 71st Street. It's worth the trip.
hangon...i gotta find a pen
phantom word: oompa loompa
ok, what's the frick? art?
nutty, yes art.
i don't want to see what everyone sees, i want to see what the city goers think is worth seeing
crossy loves oompa loompas
awesome
any other recommendations, were were going to try for wicked...but too much $$$
Frick it is.
All the good shows are big bucks. Maybe Jersey Boys came down in price. You can try Tixxx in Times Square --can get cheap seats to Bway Shows.
good morning, and great timing - you are talking about my all time favorite museum - the Frick!
Brkfst. is ready. BBS
i have two days, so i thought it would be the first to go if i cut things
also being the most pricey and me being rather poor
speaking of breakfast,i have a treat today.today,s bacon is applewood smoked with a hint of sea salt
Nutty, Why dont you go down to Soho and just walk around and have lunch? Great neighborhood.
i will check with my guide, i put her in charge of getting us where ever
all this hubbaballoo makes me nerve city
What hubbaballoo? LOL, Are you staying at a hotel?
nope, staying with a friend in west new york
where i come from, two lanes is a big road
nutty, then you are in New Jersey. Come on in and visit the Frick, then have lunch in Union Square at the Coffee Shop or If you are in the mood go to the Union Square Cafe and have a hamburger. I LOVE the Union Square Cafe.
i'm taking notes of all this.
when i retire im going to get a place on top of the hill so the first thing i hear each morning is a deer farting:)
and yes, the plan is nyc all day
Nutty, Union Sq. Cafe is a bit pricey but a salad or hamburger is not too bad and their drinks are awesome. Union Square is nice to walk around. It also is a great neigbhorhood.
while you're on the subject of New York, does anyone know how easy it is to get about there with a wheelchair?
sounds good to me
i hope that i get there before i lose a lungh
i haven't the foggiest guernsey, but with us laws, everything should be accessibl
they say that over here, but the reality is often not quite the same.
If you dont get to NY often throw money caution to the wind and go to Union Square Cafe. Have a great time and come back more often.
i've already had the most divine crispy bbq duck
nutty, Did you go to Chinatown?
just got in last night annie, haven't crossed the hudson yet.
guernsey, everything here is supposed to be wheelchair accessible.
nutty, You must go on the subway then. Your hearing will never be the same but worth the price of admission.
oy vey, i leave that up to karen, she's the one that knows what she's about
they have been working towards that here too, but although the laws are in place, there are still many problems, especially with historical buildings and public transport.
okay, nutty whatever karen says then that's it. (((Nutty))) have a great time and I am sorry that I missed you but when you get in again we must meet.
I have to leave now..bye dear babblers
Morning folks
bye, annie
'morning bob, everyone
Hi folks.
hi, mich
I am a bit late on the thread but WC accessibility often depends on what you are used to. Living in Jerusalem, access is a nightmare and I sigh with relief when visitng the US, but friends from the US complain a lot more. Manhatten is decent, Brooklyn was more provisional, especially when I needed a bathroom - and the Catskills? Pee in Ur Pants USA.
Guernsey, are you a WC user?
choo
guess she's taken a break
Breakfast was delicious. I noticed I only have 5 words left. Any help w/da6/24? please.
just started, gram

Hi all. Just had some MOST unsatisfying bacon: looks nice and long nd flat in package but ends up curled up little bits!
hi Jayk
heya lynx
poor jayk, come over here,im about to cook up some applewood smoked back with a hint of sea salt
stuck on the last al
does the applewood really not do that annoying shrinking thing?
all bacon shrinks some what ive yet to see any that does not, other than turkey or chicken bacon, but neverless this is good stuff
turkey or chicken bacon is beyond the pale!
ahh that took some finding lots wifes name is "lldeth"
oh fer pete's sakes, you're so right ... lillith, like lillith's fair
indeed jayk..give me pig or go home
turkey bacon is ok depending on the brans, but has everything one considers bad about bacon except the fat
i figure if im to have bacon,it may as well be the real thing,at this stage the salt is almost worse for me than the fat lol
if my doc had his way id be eating tofu, bean sprouts and distilled water
that's any doc's rec!
last al - al & Pres Eisenhower nickname
anyone have that last al?
i'm beginning to think that the anxiety associated with concerns about "eating healthy" may be worse than indulging every now and again (bacon for me this morning, too)
as for me, i have trouble eating fatty ffood, in that i just do not like the teat and texture of fat. simply a taste thing.
distilled water? I thought you weren's supposed to drink it because it would mess up your electrolytes...
taste and texture, lol
im on my fourth life now,so i do not care,i do exactly what makes me happy,at least till they corner in a hospital bed again
thx lynxx--clearly losing marbles. FW!!
lol crossy
Congrats Jayk!
yaaa for jayk!!
congrats Jayk
crossy passes jayk some crispy home fries and scabbled eggs
scrambled
hmm............
scabbled eggs sounds interesting??
mmm...
i do the home fries in real butter and season with a dash of pepper and ground medditerranian sea salt
damn typos
what crossyis ot telling you is that he is on his third mimosa
LOL
already!
I'd better get some sleep - night all
crossy, switch to bellinis
lol wife and i have the place to ourselves this morn,so we have honeydew melon wedges, some sliced peaches,a toassted english muffin with apple jelly and 2 glasses of champers each for early brekkies

bye TO
but first, everyone knows there is no sense in trying to put a cork back in a half bottle of champagne..so....
i think we can squeeze one more glass out each:)
think coffee is best for moi at this hour - plus work yet
day off for me,will go walkies and take the wife antiquing for a bit
sounds wonderful - special!
i find you let them crawl around quaint little curio shops and the ladies are happy as a clam;)))

Us sisters are Lynda, Lisa & Leslie.

i get called any L name without having an L sister
did your mom only pull the L page out of the baby name book?
Yes, and we all lo4 alike, were born within 35 mo, and our parents dressed us alike when we were little.
Brother was then Glenn. No acceptable L names for a boy.

Oops, al5 is in the grid.

oh, ok :-)
hi owl
hey Owl
any other clues wanted? -- I really don't want to go and wash my kitchen floor...
just stay and chat then
can't the maid do it ?
yeah, sure
her day off ?
attach a wet rag to the dog's tail and feed him cookies
good idea
I wish it was, west, but have houseguests arriving tomorrow
that always gives me incentive to clean
another household tip: clean all the mirrors and picture glass; it makes the whole house look clean
probably, if we never had company, we wouldn't clean
At this point I wish I had Samantha's nose!
the good thing about old husbands is that they don't see either the dust or your wrinkles (my* lol)
failing eyesight is a good thing in husbands
true ruby, but they are very good at creating a mess.
but how do you train an old husband to wipe his feet? It would be easier to train the dogs.....
you've got that right -- I think its the "I'm retired I don't have to do anything" complex
after he's been in the fish pond?
at least mine does all the grocery shopping; if he gets it wrong, I don't say a word
lol -- same here ruby
fortunately, he leaves the waders outside! lol
I wonder what we could do to encourage them to cook what they buy?
he shops, I cook
mostly for him and the dogs, however, as I don't cook much for myself
The good thing about that is he has to figure out what we're having for supper!
I don't mind the cooking and he unloads the dishwasher -- and this is a man who never did ANYTHING with his first 3 wives!!!!
that would be a plus I hate trying to think of what to have
I make the same things, over and over, and he doesn't mind as long as "it's good for him" and controls his weight and cholesterol.
oh -- lucky you -- our dishwasher is a foreign piece of equipment that does not extend below the countertop!
how is that possible in France
he doesn't like French food, so I cook Italian, American, Mexican, whatever, and follow his old South Beach diet
hi everyone!, clue for the O in the fourth row, plz?
mine doesn't like repeats and I am the one nagging about high cholesterol food.
hi ibd
ok 4/9 -- all right?
hi ruby!
I am lucky about that as he would eat the same lunch every day, a huge South Beach chicken salad
hi lbd start with texas tea and add a mountain upside down
I haven't been able to find that ok4, my monkeys couldn't either
mmmm -- sauteed cabbage with chopped tomato and onion thrown in
that's oi 7/32
add up the points ok?
that sounds delish, nan
right out of south beach ;)
I even cheat and add a smidge of butter to the veggie oil
I've gotten his weight under control but now he's too skinny
ty, got the ok4, not sure about an upside down mountain tho
and he still accumulates plaque
*but use savoy cabbage
dig a blank in the ground
oh, got the oi7! thanks
yay !!
I think that is an age related thing, ruby -- or genetics
does he have stents?
genetics, I think
I eat all kinds of fatty stuff and nothing happens
yes, he's had 3 blocked arteries - both carotids and this last one, anterior descending from his heart
my cholesterol profile is very low as well -- but I have no problem gaining weight!
my man just had a quintuple by pass 6 months ago -- 2 stents 8 years before that
You'd think I wouldn't have to fight with him to eat sensibly
I think the HDL is an inherited factor, too, but my actual capacity is small and if I overeat I feel so sick
that I don't eat again for a while
I'm hungry all the time and crave salt -- low thyroid related I think
if they're stubborn like that, there's really nothing yu can do.
impossible to be one's husband's mother!
speaking of food I'm off to make lunch
have a great day
what are you having?
musgo.
this isn't getting my floor done, so I'd better get cracking -- back at the flip :) Have a great day!
bye nan and west, great chatting with you!
I'll look in the fridge and decide what musgo
*or evening
you too ruby and nan

does the 9 play off the ec 4/6?
hey mom
it does, but it's not a common word
Hi LeslieAnn
hi mom and yes
would you mind to clue it?
Hi Boobear
ec + spanish "hello" + *** sophia jewelry?
don't know the jewelry..... hmmmm....
also last three letters of the country down under
something to do with babies crying when they have cho****
oooh, thanks, got the ec9 when some said it was not a usual word and back for the 65 words I dont have
yw
welcome back {{Annie}} how was the baby naming?
well nice one annie! took me LOTS of clues to get it :)
((Mom)) Wonderful. Her Hebrew name was inscribed in the book and then make her house for a sumptious lunch.
*back to
sounds like a wonderful time
LA, Long time. How are you?
still working on the 9
good annie!
nice to see you here
did you see my other clue? ec + spanish "hello" + last three letters of the land down under
I did but the only land down under I can think of is Australia
ec9 is when a person repeats what they hear but really does not understand
that would be it
there is no AUS
I am so dense today
like me Annie?
end mom
last three letters, Mom
got it thank you so much all of you
yw Mom
knew you would, mom
Oh Mom I felt like that yesterday
I did too yesterday and the day before
I must be on brain freeze lately
I had doubts Annie
I didnt finish yesterday...too hard for moi
I came on last night to look for you Annie, and the clues were flying and before I knew it I only had 33 left and then I just had to finish. Spent the entire day on that bloody thing
Mom..I am so addicted that when I stand on line anywhere I am thinking of the grid.
it was a nastry grid
if there ever was an addiction to have, this would be the one. I am soooo addicted
Annie, Boo was asking me last night how long I have been playing and I was embarrassed to tell her 4 1/2 years.
yes me too
it just passes the time away. i have so many things I could be doing
Good Babble Afternoon all
I just looked at my profile to see when I started. April 28th will be 4 years. It went so quickly.
when I have a dr. appt or have to go somewhere and wait I always print out the grid and work on it
hi and the other Mom appears
ah ...... here is the latest one who has fallen into our trap. Hi MNH
Hi Momneeds...Mom, good idea
it has Annie, and for the most part such nice people
kinda miss the trolls though. They were rampant when I first started
don't say such a thing mom!!
so I can use that as my excuse
Yes, I always had my spray at the ready.
it was a fun time
and it isnt now Mom?
Well the trolls were lurking a few weeks ago
and I missed them :(
yes
trolls? what trolls?
they had to call Dr god
it is a great time. You need to be here when the trolls come out. Trolls are people who come to annoy but are not really interested in the game.
usually kids, some very foul mouthed
ah - had some of those on wordplay - my other addiction
I didn't know words like that existed when I was a teen ager
Nutty handles trolls well
never heard of word play
Nutty is a hoot with trolls

LOL Mom! You'd be surprised how much upkeep he requires ;)

Hi Min - finished up earlier today but thought I would check in to see if anyone needed help
Congratulations on finishing early Momneedshelp.YAY
ie. I have no life
Just read your profile. You have more of a life than I.
its this or TV - I'd rather talk to friends
Raising 2 teenagers, definitely make life interesting!
i am listening to the radio via internet
Min, what I would give to sit in a patio looking at the beautiful flowers and enjoying life - hopefully that will happen when I am able to stop work - but until college is done I am a laborer
my teenagers keep me going for sure - tiring but fun - had kids later in life and they keep me young.
this game is for me and only me - most can understand that
If I have kids it will be late in life too.I am 39 with no kids.I probably will never have kids so my enjoyment is just Babble and sitting outside on my patio for now
hi, folks
Evening all....
hi welk and red
Oh Min, you have lots of babble friends - and 39 is not too late - I had my son at 39. And if that is not in the picture for you - there are many other enjoyments you can partake in - like us and flowers and whatever tickles your fancy....
hello all, is this one worth starting? I need to do some more reading, but will want brain breaks this evening.
Hi red and welki
I shall be right back. the dog is starting to cause me great irritating...
min, you work outside the house, right?
Hello redturtlehead! How are you?Welcome back here
yes but a little bit challenging
red doesn't have a dog! *confused mama look* (what dog?)
Hello stidmama! How are you doing? Welcome to grid!
husband maybe stid???
okay, I'll play for a few minutes and then go read. I am actually trying to work ahead a little bit today. Feels good to do that, not sure it's working though.
Yes I do welki.I work a long way outside of my house.
'course she does .. a beautiful golden named Teluu (spelling?)
Ill give you every clue so you can do what you need to do
so then what's that stuff about someone having more of a life? you have a job, you have enjoyment, a husband who annoys but most likely loves you to pieces ... sounds good to me
hm. must be a new addition to her life... or maybe I am just clueless today! LOL
stid, she's had her dog as long as i've been babbling (just over a year)
I think Min is feeling down today - COME ON MIN - lets have fun - forget the husband, chores , work, and live....
or .. it could be i'm having some sort of delusional episode right about now :)
Can I have one of those too??
I think I am just clueless welki... trying to find words and think and not being successful at either! *grin*
Stid, enjoyed meeting you with Ren the other night
:-D I have been on many times when you have, Mom. Ren is wonderful, though! I miss seeing her online.
I am open for clues - get me quick for supper is ready...
Ahh, now understand the irritation, dog is having a bit of an upset stomach.
Stid, I have had Teulu for 4 years!
but yes, that was fun. We used to have HUGE pirate parties, and we all found our pirate names and had little tropical islands (with cabana boys). yes, those were the days!
I know I have seen you too Stid, but it was great fun to see you together
rofl... see red? CLUEless! poor puppy for not feeling well.
Cabana boys??? I'm jealous
well, he is running about the house now with 3 different toys. I think he is going to survive.
You are good red!
that is great red, yucky puppies are not a lot of fun to deal with.

Hello - is anyone out there?
ty red and ty all for the help
anyone need a clue?
I would appreciate a clue for the ec 9/66. I know it starts with the ec 4/6 but dont' know the rest.
it means someone (usually a child) repeats what has been said, with no sense of what they're saying.
ec 9 is a psychitraic condiliton tht makes the person repoeat whatever he just hears
ec4/6 + stick cons + last 4 letters of kangaroo continent
ec + spanish hello + doesn't tell the truth, is a ***r
thanks everyone for the joint effort, got it!
its a tough word
yes, I never saw it before
I'm back, and I am proud ish to say I found the 9 on my own, but its a medical term soooo, It doesnt count.
when patients have it, it is a bit tempting to see exactly what they will repeat.
I always get stumped on those medical terms
see you later, all
of course I could not find the dw, even with Minvers story clue...until just now.
bye temple owl
have a good sunday night TO.
supper is ready - got to go - poof
bye Mom needs.
and fw for me good night all...
must do something else.
hello out there?
hello out there?
hello out there?

Hi lbd
I just got here myself
hey, nef, lbd, dorens :-)
Hi Nef!
hi Dorens and Unea
i began the grid today on a sunny patio in mexico. now in the dark at home in nj, realizing that i have to go to work tomorrow.. reality hits!
Wow, Dorens, that's quite a wake up, isn't it?
how much longer will you be "on the job" dorens?
ahh, but the lovely warm memories you have whilst being at work.
How is everyone this evening?
finish out the school year, end of june. it's funny... normally i'd be sad to be back to work, but that seems ironic, since i'm mourning NOT having to work next year
doing well, wish i was somewhere warm tho
aaahh
*sending warm sunshine to ddawg*
how weird is the mo6/36?
can you retire, dorens?
twas sunny and in the 70s here today, dawg -- really gorgeous
the mo6 is VERY weird!!
truly a weird word, dorens
phlibbbbtttttt, unea!
hmmph - not weird at all TY Dorens - quite common here!
not really dawg, but have no choice. guidance dept eliminated from next year's budget. i am five years away from retirement, but c'est la vie
hey, lynxxx!
I bet you'll be able to pick something up to carry on your retirement benefits.
hi lynxxx
lynxxx> i am not making editorial comments here... I don't have the word yet, trying to monkey it and wondering
ohhh, it's mo + a pig in a ****
a pig in a po4/9 that is
dawg... the governor cut a billion dollars in state aid to schools... most districts are cutting back on guidance counselors... no one is hiring and if they are, they're not looking for older folks higher up on the scale
thanks une
Australian owl - the name is after the call it makes which sounds very beautiful but a bit sad ec**ing through the bush
yw :-)
that really sux, dorens. i just looked up mo6...an owl named after Dylan's daddy
did some fantastic snorkeling yesterday in the second largest reef, after australia's, so i was thinking of you folks lynxxx
tx lynxxx!
do you get good retrenchment packages over there Dorens?
i'm not getting anything all that good. 2/5 pension and no health benefits... if i had continued the next five years it would have been medical benefits for life and 3/5 pay
are you in the teacher's union, dorens? what do they say?
thinking about it now, i realize i still haven't gotten over feeling angry about it. hope that comes soon...
that so doesn't seem right - but more importantly you don't sound as though you are ready to retire
the state union is doing a lot of squawking about the cuts, but my local doesn't seem to be doing anything... the superintendent says the money isn't there, and there are no other cuts to be made. and no, i am NOT ready!
I hope something good falls into your lap soon. I remember being devastated when I was retrenched - only softened by a very very nice package and another year as an external consultant for same company
i am hoping lynxxx.. principal of my school says you never know, something may come up, some money may be found.. any time up through august 29th... and i am hopeful (alternating between hopeful, devastated and angry)
fingers crossed for you - are remember it IS only for money reasons - it will NOT be anything personal against you
sometimes that is hard to believe, that's the unfortunate thing. part of me believes that if they really wanted me, this wouldn't be happening, and that is a bitter feeling. thanks for your encouragement
I think if they could launder up some funds for you Dorens, they'd do it in a heart beat. at least I hope they would! (((HGUS)))
thanks. maybe they're working on it-- i'd like to think so at least
Check out Upward Bound in your area. See if they need a teacher/counselor. it's soft money but you'd still be able to pay into your retirement
and yet, they're trying to tell us the recession is getting BETTER! HA!
i'll check dawg... not sure if it would work into the state retirement fund, but worth a try, thanks
brb
it may be getting better in other sectors, but it has trickled down into state and local governments something fierce.. just so stupid to cut money to schools though
any clues for the final re6 words?
yeah, I don't know a single district though thats not cutting back. The states don't have it so... yeah. Sucks.
re6 you might have to **** again to see it
re6.21 put ammo in the gun again
thanks lynxx
and done. now to unpack!! night all
night Dorens
hmmph - 2 words from the end I finally found a word that uses the legall word here - pi5.20. Bye everyone, must go too

night night, pini! enjoy your company
brb
I believe from my HS classes, someone in the world did an experiment that used a sample of snowflakes and surmised that none were the same configuration, so they've extrapolated and dictated that no two are the same...a scientific determination. how does one know the world is spinning, and not the universe around us?

Hi again. (I'm supposed to be working on taxes, so just sneaking in for a bit of releaf)
hey Nef! (((hugs))) we have simple taxes, so done already.
thanks Min, for the story, gained several words! down to 38 now.
Hello Nef! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle!
yw stidmama!
minn, dont get some clues from your story.
you say i "le** and i dont get it.
last year after we filed (and paid in a hefty amount for the first time ever); the company I used to work for sent us a NEW W2 form which said I'd earned $1200 LESS than the 1st one said
need clue for al 5s please. have first 4 and am looking for the other al 4.
oh man, so you had to redo?? bummer.
We are still trying to figure out how to fix that (unfortunately, DH managed to erase some of our electronic after he'd sent it
that should have said electronic info
Nef, there are amendment forms, and ways to use this year's taxes to amend last years (or there used to be)
yeah; that's what I'm trying to do
mkg,le4/5 is anagram of da 4/5 word which is a name
it's confusing, isn't it? taxes have changed so much since I studied them (20 years ago)... wish I were more helpful
I'm using Turbo Tax. It would be lots easier if DH wouldn't have erased stuff BEFORE printing it out for us last year though....
that is definitely difficult. Is there no way to ask that program to recover what you sent before things were erased?
I don't think i've ever heard that ho6 before
HE has tried. Tonight is MY turn to do that.
hello harpjane!
ty,. i already had it. ty.
any c lues for al 5s?
I know I haven't heard it before, harp. That's why this game is so good; it sharpens your mind
***hugs for Nef*** I know you'll figure it out. You're one smart cookie *offers fresh choclit chip cookie the younger stidkid made today*
al 5/10 is the name of an historic event in Texas mkg

ty. got that al 5.
all a s are done.
ch 6 first one oplease?
go mkg go!
mkg, it's like the 7 that comes after, a tropical disease I think, there is a book "Love in the time of ch7" -- take off the last letter of the 7 for the 6
ty.
ty. had the 7 so was easy.
oops. the six i needed with ch is the one before that one. sorry stid. so please someone clue that for me. ty.

oops so sorry. i had that word already anyone.
a bit of espanol.
oh, okay, I was going to say use the spanish double letter that sounds like "y"... LOL
ty stid got the word.
need da 6 please to finish d words.
da + vowel + masculine possessive 1st person pronoun
da, then only one vowel does the trick, and then "** is opposite of she. right? wont take it.
firewords
yeah stid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
possessive, mkg, we don't say it is I's., we say it is mine. In spanish, el libro es ***
I guess that's not first person possessive, it's just masculine singluar possessive
stid isnt that 3 letters?
stid is clue in spanish????????
yes mkg, you are asking for a da 6
and yes, this is how tired I am. the clue was in spanish. *sigh*
sorry mkg, not really trying to be so difficult
i thought spanish was ella or ello or los or las......dont see it somehow. sorry.
i am lost. sorry stid.
anyone else got a clue for da 6?
also need ec 9 please.
need li 6 also plesae.
wow cnat get these words. tough grid.
sorry, I wandered off.
HI stidmama. Good to see you here.
ec 9 starts with the repeating word, and ends with a tall letter, mohammed *** and a vowel
hey bugs!
brb
ty got ec 9 stid.
li 6 please?
back. li 6
is one of the things you kiss with li* + german name for "granny"; alternate clue li* + meditation syllable (vowel consonant) + vowel
how are you bugs?
I had fun. I went to Victoria to celebrate a granddaughter's 10th birthday. It was a lot of fun.
got the li. ty.
excellent! we sure had fun in Vic last month. It's a lovely city this time of year.
trying to do this fast and maybe I should not have started...
go mkg go!
lo 5 10?
it's not a horrible grid, but several weird ones.
lo 5/10 is like jazz trumpeter armstrong... different spelling for louis
hmm dont see lowie, or lewie, or ............
got the lo. wow.
ty. never saw that spelling.
did you clue we 6 30? dont recall.
still dont have da 6 24 first one. any clues out there?

i cant believe how much trouble i am having finishing this grid.
la5?
wa 4 that holds up the ceiling + two vowels
got wa and we! ty.
i've been at 3 for about 20 minutes
la 5 is a mint-relative plant I think, la + spanish feminine possessive
go harpjane go!
10 left. ugh.
thanks
Wow. These are cool.
sure thing. can help with the others also harpjane, bt about to go get ready for the morning...
stid, is ella and ello the words or not? i just dont get them............he has it would be ello tiene ese......right? it has been 50 years since i took spanish.
no 40 years sorry.
down to 9. ugh. hate this grid.
it's the first person i think
the oi 7 is also missing from my grid. help!!!!!!!!!!!!
first person is yo, and such.............right?
done, thanks!
well guess i dont speak spanish anymore. period.
must go to sleep. by all.
oi 7 is a compound word, what you dig to find texas tea
sweet dreams mkg
mio and mia are the words I was thinking of, mkg.
YAY harp!
pp
anyway, I need to turn in. Trying to be in bed before ten every night so I get a minimum of 8 hours' sleep (more when I can). Seems to be working most days. I am not so tired as I was a couple weeks ago.

Niters stid ..
Hello all
Did Wolvie show up today for her birthday?
Is anyone here?
Guess not, so I'll change my icon.
K.
Hi.
I have a new game out. See my profile.
Hi gremlinn
I waste enough time playing Babble!!!
Is 9:39 pm too late for dinner?
Either way, I'm going to have some.
not at all! Imagine you're in Spain.
hi everyone
hi flosey :)
Great flower choice, flosey!
love your dahlia, jilli, gorgeous colour
tks
I hope I get to see it this summer!
yes, good luck
I won some dahlia bulbs playing bridge at OAP with Joanne
What kind?
no idea what colour they are but have some pics of one I got from same source, I'll put it in as icon next time
That will be interesting
Dahlias have been a revelation to this former Montrealer -- I had no idea how many varieties there were
yes, also came with full instructions re planting mid May and digging up in Oct/Nov
We couldn't grow them there, as you know.
I don't remember having them in Ontario either
have time, I'll switch my pic, just for a few minutes
ok
here it is, now I'll change back
oops -- giant picture, taking ages to load -- the bit I can see looks beautiful -- I'd like to know the variety.
sorry, I thought I had made it smaller once before
I'll have to ask
It's only partly loaded
do you know Ron, he runs the Probus group
I know neither Ron nor Probus -- what is it?
hi
hi herin
good evening, all -- everyone finished?
hi osgma
hi nan -- I stayed up too late last night and finished then.
Hi nan
how are you doing osgd?
I was too tired last night -- found the last 4 this morning with the help of the people in the chat.
I though I had finished last night, fortunately I went in earlier today to change icon - and finished remaining 20
I just couldn't do today so I didn't go to clas
flosey, what is Probus?
411 words today.
Oh please, no!
lol -- glad to hear I'm not the only one who does that, flosey
oh no grem -- that's way too much
oh, sorry, Jilli, not really sure, will have to ask Ron
Sorry, I had to do it.
For shame, grem!
103
I would like taht too but I have to do study since I didn't go today
gorgeous dahlias jill
they play bridge once a week at the Legion, and he had asked hubby to give some lessons for a few weeks
thanks, nan -- I think so!
I'm going to eat dinner now, so I'll just call words I see without actually typing everything in yet.
does Ron do dahlias or something?
is that your dogwood in bloom flosey? -- beautiful. I wish we could grow them here
114 perhaps grem
that's better, flosey :D
no nan, unfortunately, the only dogwood we have is too high for me to even get a pic
Good morning jilli. A mutual friend is online from Melbourne.
Oh really!!! Must go there!
