As Abolished :)
hm. no L in grid. Thinking...
hello
wow. I've come up with 15 things that have been abolished here in the SE, none start with T

jilli, for your cake, condensed or regular tomato soup?
because I had a grownup picture I almost used for todays's theme which is "funny swimsuit pictures"
Uh oh
RE8
dc, a can of the old-fashioned condensed tomato soup -- the kind you mix with water or milk.
coolio, ty :) that's what i figured, but thought it best to clarify
I thought es4 would be a word for the eastern e, when I discovered it wasn't, I quit trying for minimal nbt
but you don't mix it with water for the recipe.
es 7,8 for that tile doug

nice douglas
cool, douglas :)
"Where d'ya go, Douglas? Canterbury, Rome, Jerusalem?" Hibbing.
re8
I've been to Canterbury
Hibbing, Minnesota, birth place of Robert Zimmerman, known to most folk as Bob Dylan
way cool, douglas
and one of the largest open pit iron mines ever
interesting; great photos, too, douglas
I had a photo of a street sign in Hibbing, that had directions to the Bus Museum, and the big iron mine, but no Bob Dylan directions on it.

good evening everyone, late flip!!
did you see blood on the tracks ? Doug?
hi, flosey
I hereby confess that I would never name a baby girl Echo
Hi flosey! Did you go to bridge?
yeah that would come back at you doug

well, they haven't got wet yet...
lol, can you imagine wearing all this garb and trying to swim!
the ones on the right and left look wet, or there's some fierce wind blowing at them
they do, dc, don't they
there was another picture of an older version, looked as if it even had petticoats under the belled skirt! I almost used it but it was a .png and I've had trouble using those.
yes, I saw some - stockings and all, even parasols
and bonnets
a good umbrella is worth its weight in gold at the beach, IMHO
and there was a picture in the paper of a modern burqa bathing suit
not familiar with burqa
I think the French wouldn't allow the wearer into the pool.
the guy in jilli's icon could use a burka
ah, will use imagination
http://tinyurl.com/62w43t is an example of a burqa bathing suit. rather attractive one, at that
burqas are those muslim coverups the Taliban insisted on in Afghanistan.
what's the theme for icons today
thanks dc,
ruru, I changed it back
*thank goodness* I almost lost my dinner
ruru, I told you -- funny bathing suits! All you have to do is read my rofile to find out the theme of the day.
i notice that it exposes her ankle. i guess some allowances must be made for the swimming. :)

I am going to try to scan an old picture of me as a kid
oh, sorry jilli, thought you were referring to ru
here he is in his speedo -- still has that gun, and a few more (no, it's not ruru)
hold your breath flosey.. it's a doozey
I think I'm more likely to get to you-know-what if I don't talk about it
oh my! rather glad you changed it jilli
http://tinyurl.com/23sfzzo is on FB, so you may not see it. I, and the girl over my shoulder are 9 in this shot - that was the birthday party for her and her twin sister.
can you imagine who might find that irresisitble?
... yes jilli
a very, very desperate woman
from texas
no doubt, ruru!
or a tough, rough, tabacci chewing broad
dc, you were a cutie too!
sorry, hate even typing that word in reference to female
why thank you, jilli

OK, now I'll look for words. I'll leave my little boy up until ruru reappears.
but they could be wrong, jilli, don't give up hope - I want to see your picture in that hat
bye anike
Hi jellen!
Bye, anike
hi Jellen
the weather guy says it's an October weather pattern, with a low over Alaska dragging cold and wet south. Big dip of the jet stream in the Pacific.

hi, all! Good morning to the earlybirds, nightowls, and whatever other flock you may fly with. ;)
hi melon, just an old nightowl here
hi melon!
my mother use to say was probably because I was born so late
nightowl here too.
How late, flosey?
not sure jilli, don't think she ever said
but she was an early to bed person - usually by 10
you mean days late or late in the day?
late in the day
I arrived at 1:15 pm, very considerate but makes me a late riser, right?
aha, well there's an excuse for everything, isn't there!
I hope so!
musician = nightow. That's my story.
I would like tetrain to be a word, meaning kinda sorta the same thing as quatrain
and a good one, too, melon.
Yes, doug, it should be!
I guess ruru has fallen alseep or something so I'll put up the bathing suit guy again.
it's really quite ugly jilli
no, I mean the pretty one, lol!
oh, sorry!
oh no, I don't thinkI could stand to see much more of that ugly one!
I just had it to tease ruru about his speedo
looks a bit like someone we know - and I would not enjoy seeing him in swim trunks
oh NO!!!
at least he doesn't carry a gun!
no, just a fiendish grin
if he wore a speedo it would disappear under the paunch
lol, truly lol
hi all. 4 yo up in middle of night eatinig mac and cheese.....
hi m9!
oh, yum, love mac and cheese
I just had a banana break
hi jilli and flosey. this is homemade mac and cheese wth kielbasa
I'm just eavesdropping and giggling at your banter, ladies.
ah, never had it with kielbasa
neither did I -- sounds goooood
yes, it does
it's really good. much better than with hot dogs.
oh my, I'm way over halfway!
leaving the te words for a while, not getting far with them
wtg jilli
getting tired, though
I was tired and frustrated making that ferry reservation - don't like dealing with automation - prefer an agent
the giggling woke me up
I've never made a ferry reservation!

I decided to join in on this icon follishness.
I've thought of doing that, but never got around to it. I came home that way once and it was nice and easy.
what's the icon today?
I'll miss my daffodils...
oh good, melon!
lol melon, that's a dandy
funny bathingsuits m9
Funny swimsuit pictures, m9. All you have to do to find out is check my profile.
they're lovely m9
oh my! I just refreshed!
Yikes, melon, what a sight!
thank you flosey. That was my first attempt at playing around with picasa.
it's fun, eh!
It's pretty awful. You gotta admire his confidence.
I guess I have to post the ugly one for melon and m9...
I gotthe 9 & 10, btw
wonder if that's a red condom he's wearing
whatever you do, DO NOT google "old man speedo" - you may never recover. . .
ok there. swimsuit on.
lime green no less. Otherwise he'd be so inconspicuous.
ah, m9, what a sight - he should get together with melon's
here we are -- ain't he sweet?
ack.. I went to your profile and it had guy with (drill?)
ewwwww!
oh my, m9!
well jilli, the 3 of them should get together
that's a gun, pal.
hungry, gotta find something, brb
wish I could give you som m&c
I dunno, all these scantily clad dudes have killed my appetite.
I'd love it m9 - having cookies, KJ's recipe - ginger with pecans and pieces of candied ginger
LOL..
oh NUM!
Well, I have another one to make you feel better...
We had the missionaries over for dinner. One of them had gotten a family cookie recipe in an email from his sis.. I made them to go with dessert.
yummers -I'm cured!
I had just happened to be there when he got the email.
if you'd like this recipe I'll send it to you
Anyway, to bed for me. My son leaves for Israel on Sunday, still a bit of shopping to do. I'm having him practice living out of a duffel bag. Not being picked up after is going to be an adjustment for him!
thanks! it's my profile name at yahoo.
Here, now -- is that better, girls?
if you put your address in your bio
or, I could copy and paste it into mine

did you refresh Frances?
I see it in your profile.. wow! that is some picture!rofl
About six times m9. And shut Babble down and started again. I see it in my profile.
If you put a new profile picture, it doesn't update in the chat until the next flip.
So, 21 hours from now.
It does usually gremlinn.
mine updated.
and aren't you all SO glad it did!
Okay, just mine then.
m9: I see yellow flowers for you.
Okay, now I see it. I see I was wrong earlier.
Maybe I was led to believe a flip was required because the flip causes a chat refresh, and just a chat refresh is enough usually.
that's prolly it grem.
There we are, and there he is in all his gorgeousness.
and that's cool. .. makes you seem more human.LOL
well, if people change icons after the flip sometimes a refresh will work but I have to close babble and reopen it now. Never used to have to do that.
I think it is up to browser caching behavior.
refreshing worked for me
Sometimes your browser sees the image it's supposed to display (by a URL) and thinks "I already loaded that image before - no need to do it again".
Hello Frances! I was looking for the Mexican guy a while ago -- had seen it before -- glad you found it!
m9, what browser do you use?
uh.. which puter am I on? I think this one is just using explorer
that may make a difference -- I'm using Firefox
earlier I was using mozilla.. and it was working with refresh too
one of words on grid has me wanting bacon...
firefox is mozilla -- I dunno...
don't tell crossy!
Thanks jilli. I have a postcard of that picture sent to me some years ago by my family from Sweden.
mmmm now I want fruit ice cream!
I can still only see in in my profile. I've even shut down my computer. How very strange.
I'm seeing it as your icon
I see it here. Lots of strange things happening.
which isn't neccessarily a good thing!LOL
I still see my big blue eye here.
shut down and count to ten and restart?
lol, I see your Mexican, Frances
oooh, 1:20 am, must get to bed, goodnight all
nite flosey
Tried that jilli.
well, I must head for bed too -- goodnight and *poof*!
Goddnight flosey and jilli. Sweet dreams.
try uploading it again, frances?
Tried it so many times. I've given up for now.
bye again ;)
Try clearing the cache of the browser?
And temporary internet files.
Tried that too.
. . . . and that.
I would think - if you exit the page, THEN clear everything, then restart the browser, it would have to load the correct image.
Unless there's some other place it can be saved.
I have tried all of that.
Did you clear the cache/internet files when Babble was not set to any active tab?
moring all, help with e in right column pls

Good morning NB.

hi haz, I like this grid
hey sandy and Haz!
I'm not quite there peri. 129
So do I, lots of plurals and add ons. Good morning/evening all.
hi m9 and NB and peri
morning/evening/afternoon, Sandy :)
nice photo nb
I'm searching through for a swimsuit picture, now. This might be a theme I can actually meet...
Thanks, Sandy :)
did you see that last url I posted?
it's an interesting one, M9. I don't think any woman would wear that outside the circus ;)
http://tinyurl.com/244q57s
Blimey, M9. That is, er, some outfit.
I'm not sure if the eyes of babble are ready to be shocked by me in my swimmies, so I'll leave it ;)
it's not supposed to be YOU in a swimsuit!lol
I love this one: http://tinyurl.com/2g8vqyo
but WHAT on earth is this?? http://tinyurl.com/2d9ulp8
Same, M9! Can't say I quite agree with the hat, but I really love vintage clothes. Usually just for women, though; men's vintage has the troublesome habit of using buttons instead of zips. Effort!
that is...I don't know what that is. Why do people wear strapless bikinis? they flatter nobody.
Maybe it's from a KKK calendar?
which is really sick.
I'll admit that's the first thing I thought of. But, you know, racists need calendars too.
or maybe they were just afraid someone would recognise them wearing scanty suits.
phew halfway! I can list
possibly ;) well, I'm gonna go get up and dressed. Later!
bye!

Hello, Soodle.
the 9 and 10 for nbt plz
movieman, build on the running shoes. Put two letters in front.
ty haz
You're welcome.
Morning Haz and mm et al.
Good morning, FM.
How are you with morning?
With morning I am usually okay.
*this not with?!?
Will we start again?
I'm fine this morning. And you?
I can see it is going to be one of those days! :)
good iead. Hello Haz, how are you today?
We'll blame the heat.
Hello, FM, I'm fine today, and how about yourself?
I am well thank you *she said typing very carefully*
It rained this morning and now is so humid.
That is good to hear.
Hi everybody, Haz, FM,MM etc
Morning Soodle
Hello, Soodle, are you also well? (We're typing carefully today and are sounding like phrases out of 'Teach yourself English')
hi soodle
Welll I am typing very carefully, Haz doesn't usually type rubbish like 'wot I do'
It's nice to see the seabirds so well represented again. This is a very nice grid.
I am indeed well, thank you kindly for your consideration.
You are most welcome. Your health and welfare are subjects most dear to my heart.
How beautifully said Soodle :)
good morning everybody! What a huge grid. Can't wait to jump in, have never seen so many e's
I have always considered Soodle to be well versed in the art of genteel conversation.
I feel a Jane Austin moment approaching. Morning ruby.
Good morning, ruby, it's a really fun grid.
BRB
I'd happily have a Jane Austen moment if Mr Darcy were involved. I could do without a Mr Collins interlude.
I am truly overcome with gratitude for my fellow babblers. I am not worthy.
Your modesty in the face of praise is to be expected and is in itself worthy of note.
This is a hoot, this morning! I love all the formal language - no se* or nu**** etc. Elegant chat. We definitely belong in a Jane Austen novel. even we rough Americans
Oooh. The Colin Firth Mr Collins.....
don't like Colin Firth! Prefer George!!!!
Colin Firth Mr Darcy, Mr Collins was the clergyman who bowed in gratitude when the name of Lady De Burgh was mentioned.
Mr. Collins had stumpy little legs and a hideously obsequious manner. I don't much like Keira Knightly either
hello everyone
countdown Ruby
wow, hope Colin doesn't Babble. Hi all
hi lynx
Oh, but you're talking about the film, ruby. For us, Pride and Prejudice was best portrayed in a BBC series starring Colin Firth and Alison Steadman as Mrs Bennett.
Maybe it was Mr Collins I fancied...... Nah!! Definitely Mr Darcy
hello sandyloo! Yes, starting to get excited, but not like last year when I put all kinds of signs on the grass and on the hedge, none of which showed up on TV!
I even made a bicycle to be viewed from the air out of old sheets etc.
Hello, lynxxx, hownice to see you. We are grateful that you have favoured us with your presence once more.
Is it coming through your village Ruby?
oh, didn't see the BBC series. I love Brenda Blethyn, though, as flibbertygibbet Mrs. Bennett and Donald Sutherland
hi lynxx, I came in late and immediately committed a faux pas...trying to fit in with my English friends\
it did last year and past the bottom of my garden
this year, not even close
I feel so welcome! However just leaving, got my 75% and off to continue a wee jumper that I need to have completed in a couple of days. Have fun and bye all
Back and hello/bye lynxxx
Bye lynxxx. You are like one of those Jane Austen girls who are always described as 'accomplished'.
We have a family friends with four daughters who are also accomplished. They've even formed their own string quartet and they play at weddings etc.
I knew as soon as I had typed Austin I was spelling the car not the novelist *hangs head in shame*
A slip of the finger, FM, it is not something for which we will hold you accountable in the long term.
I have many accomplishments but untfortunately making sense in babble is not one of them.
You are truly gracious in your acceptance of my flaws dear Haz.
Your accomplishments as needlewoman and horiculturalist outweigh your difficulties in penmanship.
It's a wonder Jane Austen heroines got anything done. By the time they got one sentence out it would be time for tea.
I am overcome with your generosity, I fear I may swoon.
LOL
but they had servants to do all the other stuff -- cooking, ironing, etc
good point ruby.
We must attract the attentions of the wandering Apothecary who will administer smelling salts.
the opposing team on Eggheads tonight is comprised of romantic novelists - how appropriate
Is this Australian Eggheads or do you get the British version?
could write their novels and poetry uninterrupted....
British version - I always watch it
I enjoy that programme too.
I dont think we have an aussie Eggheads
Ata's a great fan as well, I think.
yes she is.
Wonder if she is about today?
I think seeing CJ convinces her that she has more to learn about being smug.
LOL that is soooo right!
I also watch weakest link and Jeopardy ( jeapardy is too american orientated tho)
That would normally be the cue for her to appear.
lunch. Must tear myself away from this edifying chog! alas
*poof*
What with the hair and the shirts. Fare thee well ruby.
sorry for the typo
Bye ruby. May you enjoy sustenance.
you are enjoying this too much Haz I bet you have a muslin dress on right now!
Not quite, although I do think that Empire line was very flattering.
good to show off the bustline haz
That would suit me well then but not the puffy sleeves.
Speaking of food, I read a funny story the other day. A mother, despairing of getting her son to eat brussel sprouts, told him that they were fairy cabbages. The boy ate them gladly until one day, after school, he could not be persuaded to eat them. 'Why aren't you eating your fairy cabbages?' she asked. The little boy replied ' My friend in school says they're not fairy cabbages at all, they're brothel sprouts'
Oh how funny!
I thought it was sweet.
I used to hate sprouts as a child but as an adult I love them. It is interesting how ones palate changes over time.
It does, although I still can't be persuaded to eat some things. Most vegetables (apart from artichokes) I can accept quite readily.
oh artichokes are one of my most favourites, but have never really got to grips with spinach.
feeling pekish now :)
Spinach is like rhubarb, you think you've got masses and then, oh my goodness, it has disappeared.
Guess what - I got stood up by the cleaner this morning :(
Never!
What excuse has the bounder made?
yup, his parents were down from Scotland for a visit and he completely forgot about me.
Oh no!!!! Mitch get an empire line dress immediately
lol sandy
you saucy lass!
He forgot about you! That goes against all the rules of The Code of The Cleaner.
So, is said cleaner a Scot?
He sounded rather traumatised when I spoke to him on the phone. No I don't think so HAz, certainly doesn't have an accent.
Never mind his trauma, how are you going to cope?
these i words are a struggle for me
Will he come round and do an emergency evening call?
most likely!
Oh pish the world will not come to an end, he will just have an even longer list of things to do next week.
Two put things in, one angry (like FM when the cleaner didn't arrive)
good morning, babblers, early for me, but just in time for your international chog
Good morning, JBV.
Morning JBV
hi jbv
We were talking in the manner of Jane Austen heroines earlier, but have abandoned it now, it was becoming an effort to be so polite.
woke up an hour before my alarm - today is my LAST DAY of work! (still can't believe I'm retiring)
congrats JB
Well, happy retirement, JBV. I'm sure you'll find plenty to do to fill up the time.
Oh a momentous day then JBV!!!
It is a skill beyond reckoning to be able to discourse in the style of the accomplished Ms. Austen
yes, maybe I can read all the Austen novels I was supposed to read in High School
You have spoken very truly, JBV. You will indeed enjoy the subtlety and wit of Miss Austen.
looking back, loved your brothel sprouts story, Haz, reminds me of how I got my little one to eat broccoli - set up the florets standing up on the plate and told him he was a dinosaur devouring trees - they all disappeared!
Excellent! Children are so imaginative, aren't they?
Great incentive JBV
I used to love listening in to my daughters playing, their imagination knew no bounds at times.
actually, this may be truly geeky (don't tell the non-geeky babblers) but I am working on a list of classics that must be read - used to have only the summers, but now every day is summer - finally read War and Peace and Anna Karenina
I think that's a fine ambition to have. Did you enjoy them?
Or is it that they're to be read in the future?
Oh the joys you have ahead of you! Did you enjoy those 2 books?
no kidding around, I think I fell in love with Tolstoy - a literary and emotional experience
Great idea JB
Well, definitely add Miss Austen to your list. And I'd read PG Wodehouse as well, for light relief - although you're maybe already a fan?
and Shakespeare and Keats poetry and and and!
no haven't read Wodehouse, adding to the list
charles dickens
yes, poetry, too
He's very, very funny. He's one of those authors who reduces me to tears of laughter - very embarrasing if you're in the company of other people.
reading is a solitary pleasure for me - maybe that's part of the pleasure - extended time alone with a great mind
Anthony Trollope is another wonderful novelist. He tends to write in series, so there are the political novels (The Pallisers) and the clergy (Barchester Chronicles etc).
And Wilkie Collins 'The Moonstone - the birth of the modern detective story.
just popping my head in - JBV, that's not nerdy! Or at least, I hope it's not...I have a big list of my own ;)
Haz can help you build a huge reading list!
hi, Nancy Boy!
and on behalf of Ata dn myself I must add Tolkien to th the list.
I think I'd better renew my library card - i'll go broke buying all these books
The only time I couldn't face reading was straight after university. I'd been slogging through French and German literature, history books etc and was just about all read out. It took about a year to get back to reading more than a magazine.
oh, Tolkien, another genius - - the one thing they could not capture in the blockbuster movies was his wonderful hobbit songs and poetry
that's funny, Haz - the reason why I'm trying to read more is to keep in tune for university! I do hope to go and study literature one day.
Is it not strange? - in the grid, one can make one's clothes even cleaner than they were after you'd made your first attempt, but cannot make a second attempt at de-sudsing them!
You're suppose to get all the suds out first time. Unless maybe the explanation is that it might have a hyphen?
*supposed
Yes, perhaps - due to double consonant
hey, Dofith, is that a beckoning cat? I hope it's bringing you luck ;)
Lol!! No, it's a waving bunny!
In memory of the dearly loved but late George Henry Bunn
I must take a break and come back to this with refreshed eyes. See you later, and best wishes for today, JBV. Bye!
Bye HAz, I think I had better head out too for a while.TTFN all.
lol! I just thought, because of the collar and coin. Well, I hope it's lucky anyway ;)
bye, Haz, FMitch - take care
and bye NB and dofith - i need to start my day - see you later
see you, JBV :) enjoy it!
You've got better eyes than I, Nancy Boy - I hadn't noticed the collar and coin!
oh, sorry, I wandered off to put some clothes on (probably a good idea). I'd say my eyes were very bad, considering I didn't notice the huge rabbit ears ;)
hello, back! JBV I hope I didn't miss you
just wanted to add my felicitations!
hi ruby are you still here? merci beaucoup
yes, but on phone
ok, we'll chat later - i'm running, too.....

Good morning all.
good morning scrabbs
Morning, Scrabbs
My nephew just left for his summer college class.
is that a good thing...
Yes, taking 2 classes this summer and then 6 each semester next yr allows him to graduate with a double major next May, after 5 yrs of college and a switch in majors after 3 yrs.
that is great - does he live with you?
I am getting this kid through college.
He is 22 and has been with me since 16.
you a a wonderful auntie
I am trying. Wish I could rescue the 2 younger brothers but they must do their part too. I have offered them the chance to live with me.
I love these big grids--typing words in a frenzy.
that is a very generous offer - would you like a 17 year old girl too - got one of those .....
*screaming* Noooo, adolescent girls are the ultimate challenge for mothers and pediatricians!!!
You have my sympathy, RD. Stay in control, stay calm, and remind yourself that this too shall pass.
oh she is great for everyone else - at home there is some evil thing that takes over that sweet thing....
calm is me - husband, not so calm - of course he does deserve it sometimes..lol
Adolescent girls are emotional hurricanes and they suck everyone in, especially their mothers.
Im not that gullible but right now I think her acting out may have something to do with worry about her brother so will have a teeny bit more patience with her
I am glad that you get it--so many mothers of adolescent girls get sucked in and either become BFFs with their daughters or become competitors.
I see that too with some of her friends - unbelieveable - I certainly want a good relationship with my daughter but not be her friend.
I am proud of you.
*yawn* hello babblers!
At 112/160 I must get going--appt, shopping, errands to do.

flosey, so many that fit that description. Are you asking for what has been re6 again?
m9, don't know about there, but here it's too hot to want to play outside
I'm trying to figure out how there can be an ai word AFTER the ones I have already....
oh, must go for a bit, have to book a ferry (need to book when they're apt to be full)
Tim said it's actually cooler outside at the moment....
then trow him and dog into the yard :D
He said hedoing this so I'll give him his puter
not fair little one!
LOL. he should go enjoy sun while can :)
no flosey..... Tim is my HUSBAND!
the 4 yo is still asleep
I'm *poofing* now... gotta get ready to volunteer at the geneology library...
njoy, m9
ok, ferry booked and confirmation rec'd by email
Odd that you can re/6/33 your clothes but not re/7 them. Won't they be all soapy?
agreed, jan. i wondered at that, too
cool, flosey :)
yes, dc, cost more to book ahead but beats being left on the other side! during summer months the ferries fill up so fast and have to wait for next one - couple hours depending on route
it costs more to book ahead. how odd.
but guaranteed passage is worth it
oh yes, they get you coming and going! but definitely worth it
part of the joys(?) of living on a small island
:)
i've yet to ride on a ferry that's not chain-driven.
ah, well dc, you just must make a trip out to beautiful BC - we have quite a few babblers who could get together to welcome you
do it in august
*pacing up and down in nervous frenzy*
that is in our plans for our next trip to the NW, flosey :)
hi, jmc
ah yes, in August we're meeting down near Stud and Pini
super then dc, let us know when you're going through our area
the goal is a date to be determined in the next 18 months
will keep it in mind
you are determining it in the next 18 months?
travel to be accomplished in the next 18 mos, date tbd :)
sorry :-)
what with me being still out of work, our finances are not up for long trips at the moment :)
oh the interviews didn't pan out?

how many words are in this puzzle

re8/40... the person who places things again
ty again Karys
re8/65 .... to make the laundry clean again
places things?
places things?
bowling pins
ty for re laundry
bichon also a type of dog
puts things in their place bichon... sorry can't do better
ty Karys amelu
wasn't sure if you had the same name for the dog peri !
:)
but a bichon is not a se 6
ty karys
found a tr8 pl of tr7/28
sh8/55.... fizzy sweeties
don't forget to remove the r for a 7 karys
ty Karys,
fizzy sweeties? *scratches head*
fizzy sweeties?
I got fireworks a while ago, thank you mm
ok karys
usually served with a liquorice stick over here Words
alternate to ice cream?
a sweet powder bichon
I have sh 7, is it related to that?
Ah! Thanks mixie, that cleared it up. :)
add an r to the sh7 bichon
probably needs an 'r' near the end bichon
ty Karys
I need the last sh5, please?
the last sh5 I have got tamed...
s + he 4/5
thanks amelu and karys
oooo, no sorry, thats not the last one , amelu has it right.
last column e for NBT?
is that the es7 and 8 mixi ?
haven't listed yet. don't know.
think it might be, do want me to clue it any way ?
yes please.
te6 please, before the 12-20
ok.. es7/28.. e + se6/18.... sounds like a 'calm person
sorry flosey, don't know what you mean
referring to 12 - 20 age group
oh dear... just a little slow here, bewar with me !!
no prob Karys
one who torments flosey
or antagonizes
there are 2 related, te6/18.. person who torments
I have, yes, that one, mm, LOL!
I have that one Kary and pl, it's the one after that
there's a te6/18 following those
do you have the plain pl?
its the action then flosey
pl of the te5/10 before them
ty for the es Karys.
there's a te6/18 between the torment, er and ers, and the 12-20 te4
yw mixi, sorry I couldn't do better
yes there is flosey, it's just the pl of the te5/10 before the tormenter
oh, silly me, I just didn't pl that te5 - confusing when there are other words between the main word and the pl
I know, I know !
the last few are being awkward - guess that's why they've been left to last!
it was a nice grid though
yes, it has been fun - was having more fun last night chatting, instead of finding words
but so nice to get to know the babblers
we had a lot of laughs over some of the bathing attire - or lack thereof
well, I better go and get ready for a hopefully fun night with a family birthday meal.
enjoy Karys, bye for now
168 words but I think I've hit the wall!
Hence today's bathing pictures ?
yes
mine was quite modest!
bye all, enjoy the rest.
I just had to the find the se6 first. listing at 113 left.
Hi All - love your icon photo flosey
thanks River
did you see any of the somewhat rude ones last night
hi again, dancer, just came back after dinner
ruby - did you get the teeter totter in the grid
and many thanks to DH for spoiling my soccer-watching!
hi ruby
teeter totter?
or the wonderful frozen delites with their alternate spellings
Hi riverdance from a fellow NHite
I got the frozen stuff but the other????
hi flosey
Does anybody have a clue for the re 6/24? I have now come back to it twice!
hi all
Hi Gamer - nice to meet you
re + ab**** as in the towel will ab**** all the water
re6/24 - take water up in the manner of a sponge again.
you too am new to this and keep getting lost....lol
re6 - suck in again
I loved the frozen stuff ,too - in all its diversity - but I had thought I was the only person who ever spelled it with two consonants at the end!
like haz's sponge!
ty for that one Haz
I have been here almost 4 months and feels like forever - lol
You're welcome - good afternoon/evening all.
hello girlie
I've been here since Dec and it feels like old friends from school!
Thak you, thank, thank you - and don't I feel like a dim bulb - especially after talking about the frozen stuff!
i've been here since January, but i occasionally leave the grid to make a cup of coffee
can get to feel that way quickly
You're welcome.
need 7 more te words
funny how in no time at all - these are your best friends
Sing them out, flosey.
t's are about the only thing I have all of them
yes River, we can always depend on our babble friends
te5 after the campers
it's true, dancer, friends with no bagage!
I need 168 more words.....
te + I love how ***se your children
well said ruby
te plus the start of precipitation, flosey.
I have 35 left - mostly re's
why is it so hard to find the words that begin with vowels?
but spelled wrong, lol
thanks River and Haz
I kept wanting to put an n on the end of that - didn't stop soon enough!
te7/36 starts as a seabird and ends as a little yellow bird in a cage
oh, lovely clue River
ty, River, that clue also gave me na4
lovely, dancer, how did you find that?
good one river
down to last 2 te5 and 6
ah, it was nothing
I'm very impressed!
te5 and 6 are literally fish. te plus the start of the vehicles driven by farmers.
aha, hubby retired and became a farmer!! thanks for those Haz
for Fireworks
You're welcome. And well done!
no animals, just vegetable gardens
yay, flosey!
congrats
congrats. flosey
ty all, now must stuff together, Thursday we're going to Vancouver for William's first birthday
Imagine! He's 1 already. I'm sure he's as bonny as ever.
ah Haz, he's such a sweet wee guy - they came over last weekend for Father's Day - he had taken a few steps here and there, but when he arrived here he stood up and found his feet beneath him - had a grand time
he couldn't be stopped - like finding a new toy
Good for William! This is the needing eyes in the back of your head stage, but it's so wonderful to watch them progress.
ah...one....the age of discovery
yes, afraid he's going to be a handfull for his Mommy
lots of helping hands around this weekend anyway
That's for sure. Enjoy yourself!
work interrupted my babble time again - ugh
so Gamer where are you in our lovely state
work....no fun
a
Lakes region
must be busy up there these days with the races and nice hot weather
bike week done...nascar over till Sept.....now just tourists.....lol
Haz, have just posted latest pic - he's watching the birds here
the traffic here in Concord has been brutal with all the races
Know the feeling....I'm up in Belmont
Thanks, flosey - he looks quite intent on their every move. He's still bonny!
Hi fellow babblers!
thanks, now off to get ready for weekend
hi
Hello, beach.
starting Thursday
hi beachboggle
Bye, flosey.
hello beachb!
hi beach
bye flosey, have a great time in Vancouver!
bye flosey
ruby how are you doing
189 words in the grid but close to committing murder otherwise!
see how babble really helps us through those tough times
yes. how lucky are we???
well after you kill yours, will you fly over to help me with mine??
the only problem is that now babble might name us as suspects!
I'll never tell
"Suspicious round of babble-spouse murders"
i prromise i won't tell on any of you
it all stays in babble - remember
character witnesses!
I don't know about the rest of you, but if the price is right, I'll tell all.
there you go...
*la la la la la*
hahahaz
I wasn't nicknamed the Babble Chief of Police for nothing.
what would be the right price Haz, just as a matter of interes
Oh, negotiations would have to be behind closed doors with my agents in tow.
Gah! Apparently Hobbit does not like pizza crust. Or more really, her stomach doesn't
agents, plural, you must be making a good sum from your nefarious activites to be able to employ more than one.
there is no way there are 21 RE words
oops - Hi Ata
bad dog mommy!
Ata! Spangle is having tummy problems as well, but it's due to an antibiotic tablet.
not bad! I left some pizza out and went to sleep and she stole it!!
will spangle eat yoghurt?
poor Spangle, what's wrong for the use of antibios?
bbl....hubby wants to run errands....ugh....bye
that sentence made no sense
She's been denied any tea and I've put her in the kitchen so that I don't have to look at her (a) throwing up and (b) looking for food.
bad hobbit then
Husband thinks she has some infection in her ears or something - I'm blaming him.
resa y
bye gamer
afternoon babblers!
my lovely bichon ate his barf rom last night. He tossed his cookies last night on his walk and then calmy ate it this AM. Love of the putrid I say
poor SPangle! I spent the weekend getting ticks out of sister's dogs/ ICK
Hello EvaN!
I've heard that dogs do that! How very neat of them!
Ticks aren't nice, are they?
they are FOUL
Yes, saves on house cleaning
How is C? And I take it you're home again?
our get ticks around their eyes and sometimes they get on me eeeew
husband has a special tick hook
we have had a bad tick year - have pulled dozens off my dogs and we use the frontline stuff
C is - interesting. I'm going to email you and fm and tell you in more detail, I'm trying to get up the energy. Am absolutely exhausted, but yes, am home
Yup, been home for a week. Much prefer a dog household than a cat household.
Cats are way too finicky in what they'll eat.
No rush, Ata, but glad to see you're home safely.
I just can't bear their horrid little wavy legs
dozens! OMG
te
so glad Hobbit's never had a tick
my cat eats only Hills dried food and is never offered anything else and never asks for anything else. i guess i'm lucky with her
ditto, GG
you are smart, girlie, I've ruined all of our dogs by cooking especially for them
My kid's cat won't eat his moist food if it is remotely dried out. They have to keep refilling his bowl. Cat won't eat dry food.
Hill's is good, expensive but good. Spangle gets Hill's as well (once a year on Christmas Day as a change from gruel)
i think you never have to give them anything else, ever, right from the start
I make beef heart risotto and have to hand-feed Max because he's afraid of his bowl
if they are starving they can go and catch a mouse
I've always had to give my dogs a little bit of moist food along with their kibble.
beef heart risotto sounds rather good, ruby, for humans i mean
fortunately, they also eat a lot of kibble
sily gets James Wellbeloved turkey light or Hills i/d, cos those are the only foods she can keep down Hobbit has J Wellbeloved too. And pizza
it's actually delish - with beef broth and parmesan
My dog can tell when it's Sunday.
you can get hills more cheaply in big bags off the internet
On Sunday we make pizza and when the cheese drops on the floor, he runs for it
spent my afternoon trying to find me some wedding shoes, but alas, no luck.
sorry that sentence was awful
but informative, girl!
And you can get it even more cheaply if you get it at cost price.... the benefits of a vet husband.
went to help a friend by shoes and a handbag this morning. she came home with neither and i came home with both!
Poor EvaN, will you have another go again?
i'll have to look out for one of those, Haz
what sort of horrible mark-up is retail price, haz?
They come in handy, guernsey but have smelly clothes. That's the down side.;
I don't know, Ata, to be honest, I don't think it's massive.
back for more words;)))
i'd allowt that if he'd wash them himself
makes a change!
hi crossy
hiya crossy
howdy ruby
He washes his overalls himself, I'll say that for him.
Hello, crossy.
howdy again riverdance
hello cross
howdy haz
howdy gurensygirl
i love someone saying 'howdy' it makes me feel as if i'm in an old Western
pb for haz
190 words and good night everybody
lol gernseygirl,i will spell your name 100 times and never get it correct once lol
are we all done howdying?
this was a great grid!
gg is fine
Bye ruby.
What did I do? What did I do?
good night ((ruby))
bye haz
night ruby
for now bichon
Oh, the cleaning bit. Entrapment.
{{crossy}}
{{dancer}}
gn ((ruby))
is that a clue or a murder reference?
hello all - i have been hunting for the re6/24 for ages, please clue
ooh, just got 3 more words
re6/24 - to soak up water in the manner of a sponge again.
hi and bye ursh!
hi, ursh
ty ty haz
You're welcome, ursh.
ooh, 2 more!
you are on a roll -=cant leave now ruby
hahah dancer, but you-know-who will be even angrier
be 6/30?
be6/30 -what traitors do
oh oh LOL husband refused to talk to me all last night cos I half-jokingly asked him whether the dishwasher had broken down while I was away
ty Haz
mine is perpetually angry because I watch the World Cup!
ty Haz - you've got all the answers
Casting aspersions on his housekeeping abilities? FM's cleaner didn't turn up today - you're both in the same boat.
You're welcome, bichon and guernsey.
Haz .... be + taming of the *****
well ... let's just say I couldn't find any food or clean plates or cutlery ...
and he didn't bother to clean Sily's litter tray for 4 days. I was horrified!
that's nasty!
4 days! Horrors!
i have 3 days max and our ginger cat will make her point by crapping on my pillow
that's another reason I am a dog person. I walk him, he poops, I scoop it up and place it in the trash [outside]
*poof*
*poop*
mine won't, she's too nice. I wish she would have done
exactly 3 days,not 4,not 2,but 3 lol
Hello, Norma.
sisters cat gives you about 10 hours lol
we dont use litter trays - cats come and go as they please and use the garden for toilet
I teach my dogs to poop in the woods so there is no picking up even
we have too many road kill cats for that option here ursh
mine too, but she won't dig it in - prefers to do it on the path at the side
hmm crossy i suppose we have big gardens - but road crossing is much fun and very worrying
and the cats do not care to go out in the wither when it is 30 below anyways
This is the point where non-animal people would press a 'Can we change the subject?' button if such a thing were available in babble.
babble chat always degenerates to poo!
do not make me throw a cat at you haz;)
It was one of my suggestions to Dr-God.
I just have visions of queasy babblers turning pale and retching at the thought of all this.
ok,we can talk about books, sex,or booze....whats your pleasure haz?
be7,56? help?
Need you ask, crossy?
then your up haz,i got a pass last night:/
lol
be7/56 - be plus what Shakespeare tamed (an animal)
fireworks. TY all.
Well done, mixi!
yaa for mix!!
congrats mixi
So, it looks like books again....
hooooooray mix
sigh..seems so....
isn't it nice when you go to the list and find that you've got all of one letter on your own?
Or the weather. There's always the weather to discuss.
indeed gg
It is nice, guernsey.
but then you find that there's a 10 letter word in the next set
perfect day here haz, sunny and about 66 degrees in the old scale
But it's a 10 letter word that looks English.
and then you find that one straight away.......
just give me the first 2 letters of that one please
*lalalalala I cant stand - cant we just talk about our se* dreams*
66 is pleasant, warm enough to feel comfortable, not so warm that you can't move around freely.
i'm floating gently above the grid - en crossy
I dreamt about pink elephants last night
we can talk about my bacon DT,s:(
now we're getting somewhere
I ordered a crane yesterday.
little cartoon ones
lol ok Haz, you win!
how do you cook a crane?
A mechanical one, not a birdy one.
or are you building something?
It's coming to lift away an old portacabin and replace it with a new one.
portacabin???
ahh, thought you were going to add a second floor to casa haz
Haz!
It's a new club room for the Riding for the Disabled Group that I'm involved with. I don't think they'll give us turns on operating the thing.
Hello, TO!
Portacabin - mobile large room, used instead of offices or classrooms.
a 10 letter word !
porables
thats great Haz
portables*
oh a trailer..speak enlgish, please ;)
porables would be a bit wet
It should be fun - 28 July is the big more.
the 10 isnt bad - it will come naturally and you wont even realize you have it
can someone give me the first 2 letters of that lovely 10 word?
move.
you know sometimes you can never "see" words in the right way - I spent years as a kid always seeing Portaka-bin in my mind, and it took me SO long to realise that was teh same as a Portakabin lol
or potables
i did
en10
en + choochoo and keep going with it
like nosmo king
yes TO!!

ty for that word. and to think en7 is a group i have stages at fest several times
I've been running round the country looking after ill people ...
ty riverdance
I love that group - have seen them many times

As good a reason as any.
very sensible! sometimes you just need to Not Be At Work
i am burnt out
I have taken it off in my mind but am here in body...lol
work is highly overrated
i agree. but i did a pensin calc and can't go yet:(
pension
Take the time, rest, do what you want for this week.
I LOVE you rprofile TO
i find good books, long walks, swimming, hiking and kayaking much more desireable
i spent nearly 4 hours at a flea market this morning
ty ata - someone should suggest a unicorn theme! ;)
no, no no, you should never eat unicorns
but gg- they are lean and very high in protein and sparkles
lol@ unicorn meat, kind of like the ink they must use in printer cartriges .things are so damn expensive they must contain unicorn blood, elf sweat and the tears of a 18 year old virgin lol
::tired of looking for wedding shoes:: *plops down in chog to rest*
hey evaN!
why don't you suggest it, TO :P
byt they are an endangered species
'cause i love being a renegade. and a clown.
so rare that i bet none of us have ever seen one
although i believe you have to be a virgin for that
eva,go barefoot with a crown of flowers in your hair;)
I have been looking for 15 minutes for one lousy he4 *sigh*
and its not going to beat me....

well hazel has not commented on my horribly takcy profile
huh - dont do sci fi

I have the chicken with the cross letter
I must go. Enjoy the grid, it's the best we've had for a while. See you again, TO, and Ata, you have a rest. (I like your profile as well - I'm a renegade as well, I hate being bulldozed into themes so don't do it)
bye dear!!
bye Haz
he multiple females
i love theme but am not here anymore enough to follow them
there are so many he4,s and i have not listed yet,so my help is limited i am afraid

i have just gone to the list - it helps when you dont see the obvious ones - especially plurals
seeya to
plurals always humble me!
hello crossy, how are you doing?

check out vids in my profile for some not well known but stellar groups
you do know that if you brush peach preserves on the unicorn meat and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes,it creates a lovely glaze T.):))
to*
i am partial to "Savory Unicorn & Heirloom Tomato Bruchetta " myself ;)
i make a wild bruchetta T.O:) i did 2 years at a itallian earery

LOL
thats a funny thing, all the time i have been babbling, today is the first time i have actually taken note of the 72 in T.O,s name;)
that is funny, cross!
late TO
how are you, Cross?
i have been wording away ad down to 46 to go - list helps to refresh tired little brain cells

we got in at 7pm tonight but had easy tea - pasta salad and cold meat and cheese and bread rolls - too hot to munch much
n
it's typical on a day that I left early and come home late that it is a big grid, especially as I can't play at work
hello chiley!
i cant play at work either - though if i coul get it on my phone i might
it would be good if there was an app for it lol
I used to be able to play it but then the thought police caught up with me
I can babble on my cell phone...
could I have a clue for the se6/24 after the playground toy please
really how?
es 7/8 an howdy
hey bichon.
I have a google phone and have a data stream account so I load the browser and babble on the phone.
Hi stid and all you lovely babbling units
I could probably load the page through safari on my iphone, I might try it tomorrow
hi bichon
I can't find the ES 7 bichon, sorry.
It's time for class to start up again... back later. (((hugs and choclits for all))) *Poof*
katie - good thining - i will try as well - we could report back with ou success or failure - my only worry in the key pad
got the es stid, do you want a clue?
sigh,i do not know why i start these big grids;/
I'll take that clue if you're still there bichon
nm, morewords to the rescue
I'm not sure how mine will work either Kazz, we will meet up tomorrow night and compare notes lol
first run through the list and 33 left. Will go through again and try to get it to 10 before I break and go to resources
if it works we will compare on phone! - by the way does anyone have the re 6/18
the one after re 4/4
oh that reminds me I missed them out on my first run through - must go back and take the pain now!!
I have 5 re6/18's and two of them come after re4's More or lest since I haven't listed.
So it might be to stand up again or it might be to rip again.
i think the 3rd letter could be a t
There are also two variations on to view again and to dislike someone for something they did.
got them
its before the re w
its the rip again one Kazz

ty chrissie, how is life with you?
not too bad katie, and you?
working for a quango is a great place to be lol
I am only missing 2 of the se's if you need any help
lol, only slightly worse than being a local govermnent parasite
don't start me on it. I'm going to get a badge saying that I work on average a 40-45 hour week with 3 hours driving every day and I damn well deserve my pension!!
ty, but I have too many left
just try working where i work and u getthe crap from everybody
where do you work Kazz?
and that we have already had a pay freeze this year and 0.5% last year, never mind freeze for next 2 years
and ell said katie - i havent worked in a horrible ob for 32 years to loe my pension to some well spoken yob
well said kazz (almost), lol
just let us says its to do with wet stuff on land and sea and we have had a lot of stick recently - bbq summer
I know Chrissie, I got an exceeded on my appraisal yesterday but as there is no pay rise it really doesn't mean much (although nice to get the acknowlegement)
I was lucky this year - they revalorised my pay scale which means i get an unconsolidated lump sum
Oh you do have my sympathy not only are you a public servant (soon to be slave) but you get blamed every time it ra*** and everyone expects you to be able to say what it will do on a particular day months in advance - hugs to you
congrats on the progress in your new job, commiserations on the pay
but a pay cut next year - if i could afford it i'd retire
I was pleased as I have only got promoted in October and am working above the level in some areas, but it is hard work
sh8/55 is frozen treat instead of icecream
enough of work - how is everyone doing in the game
re 5/18?
we actually had a 2 page email about when we were and weren't allowed to have lunch at meetings. I was all for letting the person who wrote it go to save money as they obviously don't have enough to do lol
yes, rant time over
re cut
yep we have enough of it in the day time. I am down to 14

It's too cold here for anything to smell, even you!
dofith, back in the 50's or so women used to hurt their hair by Te***ing it .
oh dofith, you can come here, its so hot everything smells.
Ooh! I only have 2 of those.
also known as "ratting" :-)
Yes, got that - and I remember it well! Next morning was a battle to comb one's hair! I have 3 words from that root - a 5, a 6 and a 7
and another 6 after the 7, dofith
plural of the 5
there are 4, that I have.
Thanks, just got that. How blind can I be??
then, maker of canvas dwelling and plural
Clever une! Thanks!

g'day all
it is not as bad as one thinks, but it is not good for health, so eventually I have to get off them. THe day nurses are witches though!!!
hey, daykat :-)
Now he's an early riser...yuck!
Hi, day
i'm a VERY early riser :-)
my dogs love it! LOL
I like getting up nice and early, so being on nights is alrigh int hat way, when most people are getting sleepy I start to perk up.
Good morning, daykat - new flower!
was it an adjustment for your pup?
Very oz
He seems to not have noticed that much... oddly.
Une did you find shoes?
shoes?
hi dofith - yeah i was giving the US folk a little lesson in Aussie flowers yesterday
Were you not looking for shoes?
No, I think it was someone else, my bad....sorry.
LOL!!!
I have such narrow feet -- i rarely look for shoes . . . they're not to be had
I find a shoe that actually fits and buy it over and over
would die to have narrow feet
mama needs her BABBLE!! (hi all)
my poor daughter has it even worse: 10/5 AAAA
no you wouldn't, day
mizuno is now making their running shoes in a narrow. Because they are Japanese, the narrows seem to be quite narrow....I actually have to buy the regular ones now.
*10.5
hey, gwen!
I hae reminded me ven't planted my seedling Kangaroo Paws yet - you'v
Me too, Une...I walk into a store and ask if they have anything in my size before I start to look...
Hi, Gwen!
10.5 is quite long!
basically her feet are kayaks
Well, that was a great sentence!
I'm a 10 AA
:-D
wow! I got to wearing a 7 this year and felt like that was big...
well, but AA is a lot easier to find than AAAA
dofith roo paw seedlings planted yet not
True...Nordstrom's is a good place to find narrow shoes...
the best for me would be to wear narrow trainers laced so tight they cut off circulation :-)
too early in the morning dofith:(
You can find AA meetings in any church basement. What is AAAA Une. :^)
lol! And too bl...y cold!
(and with at least 2 inner soles)

hello everyone
any more clues needed before I call it a night?
hi river
hello River! ((((many hugs)))) how are you doing?
Hi, River
hi River
nigth night, Luv
I am well - just got home from son's teams baseball game - went to cheer on the team - we are in first place - whoohooo
boys were great - all signed a mini bat for Keith with their get well wishes
go riverkid's team!
see boys are sweet even at 13
I think I am going to get down to 100 (25 more words) and then I will stop.
that really is sweet of them
Glad you got to go to the game, River. Good for the kids to see he is still part of the team.
this was a fun grid - just time consuming - too me all day at work - didnt get much work done though - oops...
LOL river! I dropped in on my lunch break from class... with only 8 people there can't really babble during the time we are together!
went pretty fast with the list, tho
I think I waited too long to list but you are right lb
thought I would check in to see if anyone needed help before moving on to check long ignored email
email is highly overrated...
i get more spam than i get real mail
my internet service blocks most of that stuff - my daughter clears that stuff out
I got spam slammed yesterday -- over 100 in under 24 hours. Glad I have a decent filter
grid's pretty fun tonight, but I should have started much earlier!
River - what do you mean about taking too long to list? I've seen others discusing when to, and when not to, list.
omg
okay, listing at 124 to go
fingers sure did fly the first 20 minutes or so - word building on word building on word
go stid, go!
There - stid's doing it too.
watch stid go now.....
i try to list after 2/3rds of the words are found or until my monkeys rebel
dofith, I use Lickety's list after I hit halfway and get no blank tiles. Sometimes I try to string it along completely without the list, but most days (given my grad student status) I need help if I want to finish.
on big grids I try to get to half - on smaller ones I try and wait until 50 or less left - just a personal goal. I think I list today with 70 something left
Ah, so you're referring to the lickity list - I see now.
WOW guys you are impressive...I must have gone to list at around 35
no rules here and yes I could not live without lickety
And another question - is there some special significance to reaching half way?
most of us have personal goals. nbt and halfway are pretty close.
I see - just a personal goal
once I list, I try very hard to not ask for any more clues...
Thanks - gradually putting together the lingo
just a personal pride dofith, there are some amazing babblers who never use the list at all.
I ask when I get totally frustrated
me too, river
en 7/28, please?
I use morewords too
en + choo choo
Oh, nm...duh!
And does nbt (no blank tile) mean you've found at least one word for stats list on left of page?
en + choochoo
and that is me down to 100. back later to finish.
Thanks, River
lol, i was just going to clue that one, kje
96... great clue, River!
hey kje
Thanks, kje!
yes dofith
yes, dofith.
!!Fireworks!!
well that will give you 4 words then
YAY Jellen!!!!
whooooo hoooooo JELLEN!!!
congrats jellen
yay jellen!!!
will see you-all later, I hope. *poof*
Bye, stid
and four more if you don't have the choo choo words
later, Stid
bye stif
*stid woops sorry
a little late, but nice job jellen!
Great jellen! I'll never make it today. 98 to go - and must do some work - back later. Thanks for info re babble challenges, protocol etc.
later, dofith
Thank you all!
bye dofith
Later, dofith
dofith is at work and I am getting ready for bed so that means when I am at work, dofith is getting ready for bed - never the two shall meet - lol
feels kind of funny knowing its tomorrow already...
when it is really just today....
Ok I killed the chog again - story of my life....
even with my new improved name
lol, River
Hellllooooooooooo
Hello :)
wow, someone is awake out there
Hiya cadfan
lol, river, Hi Cadfan!

night river
I've got the creepy-crawlies tonight...cats have fleas...
night night, Jilly
eeewwwww. jellen
Another thing I love about Colorado - NO fleas!
no fleas, but you have ticks
hi
True - but not that I've ever personally experienced, thank heaven!
hmmm, so do we! lol
They haven't had fleas is years...we must have tracked some in...
hi minski
do you know how to make a flea trap?
our cats don't go out. we have a bit of a cayote problem
urrrgh, morning all. too hot to sleep!
small pets that are let out tend to disappear
hi NB!
How, kje
hi NB
Ours don't either, Minski!
Hi, NB
Morning NB - though still just late evening here :)
take a white plate, place it on the floor with a light directly on it, squirt some dish soap in it, then fill it with water. The fleas are attracted to the white and the light and jump in, and the soap increases the surface tension of the water so they get trapped and cannot get out. Works great.
hi, lbd and all! :) and awww, Minski, that is a shame...we have the same problem here...just cars instead of coyotes ;) our two kitties are strictly indoor cats!
May I please have a clue for be7-56? Thanks
be + taming of the ?
be + the taming of the *****
Going to try it, kje!
Thanks so much, kje and lbdawger.
I did it with my flea infestation - it works. I use a desk lamp with a bendable neck, so the light is right over the plate
*puts flea collar on KJE*
seriously ru... the raccoon shared his
shared his fleas, not his collar... hmm, wonder if I could get a flea collar on the raccoon... any volunteers?
you brought a raccoon into your house? Did I miss something? why?
I'd wear a flea collar if it kept them off me!
you're all a bunch of chickens, I see
we had a young raccoon visit our backyard last night. he was cute, and he was far enough away to be appreciated
she needed something to wash her dishes
just a shout out...been lurking...80 to go
not so cute, lbd
go MP!!
cute when not invading home space, kje.
cute faces.... but they do invade
Hi, MP
jelen, thankfully they do not seem to like me... not so sweet as I think, I guess
i have enough not to bright neighbors who feed the wildlife, they can be invaded, i'll just watch from my back deck
*not too bright*
not a good idea to feed racoons..
but they look so cute and cuddly..
hey babble peeps!
NB has a lot to learn in this world..
Hey, m9!
cuddly? hahahahaha - try vicious, can rip your arm off in a minute
oh.. jeez m9... what an icon
I don't feed them, lbd... but apparently my attic is warm
LOL... you like that ruru??
maybe you need air-coonditioning up there kje
it's swimsuit theme!
omg, m9!!! did you take that pic?
*Going to see if there's a white plate in the house*
rofl, m9
and believe me..I had others I was considering!
my attic has been invaded with wasps. yucky mess up there in the soffets
it is great m9
there's a guy who needs a waxing appointment
I have 101 to go.. sigh.
woo .. a banana hammock!
roflmao, welki!
sort of fruit of the loom welki?
:)
I liked craig fergusen's term for a speedo: "plum smuggler"
I can't remember who had the mexican on a beach earlier... sombrero on head, and one for....
the shoes and socks set off the swimsuit so nicely
Back with trap set!
he might be available kje...
yah never know
sometimes I really wish you were within smacking distance ru

welki is speechless!
verclempt!

nah, just wondering if it's like the *** nut *** in the shell trick
LOLOL!!! m9! that is hilarious
although.... it would have been funnier if the bigger sombrero was down low
hydrocele
quite, Kje ;) I guess he's nothing if not honest..
yes but another acceptable spelling is verklempt
well M9, I guess that renders my night complete. It's just gone 3am...time for bed. Later, all!
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!

Hello, Jac
TO - se 6.24 sounds like what you see when you survey a landscape.
se + na4/6
Hi Jellen.
hey jac :-)
thanks une and min. those were the 2 res I couldnt' find .
21 left
se6 actually has to do with the number six, if you want to know the real meaning.
Hi Une.
ty jacs. long time.
I'm tired but it's too hot to sleep here in UK at present, especially as I have night flushes (flashes) too.:-((
we had the hottest June on record but thank god a cooler, dryer front has come thru -- bliss
Hi again, TO. Yes, I suppose it is a long time. I don't often chat on here now - it's gardening season. LOL
sh8?
alt spelling of frozen dessert
same here. time to go,
15
got it thx une
yw ;-)
I also have a bed partner who, if he's not snoring like the cannons from the 1812 Overture, breathes loudly and snorts warm breath right onto the back of my neck where a lady of my age, given to hot flushes, doesn't want that! LOL
Une - both spelling of that sh frozen dessert word mean something else in UK. It's a white powder that fizzes in your mouth. Used to be sold as a sweet for kids in a yellow tube with a liquorice 'straw in the top.
thank you jacula! (was watching movie... missed clues for a mo)
funny . . . I grew up pronouncing like the sh8 version :-)
There were also lemon sh7 and 8 sweets that had the powder in the middle. Tooth rotting stuff!
ugh
6
wow, that be7 word is a new for me!
go min!
Une - you say 'ugh' now, but I bet you wouldn't have done when you were aged 7-11.
4
be7 was new to me too
Go Minski go!
very possible -- I was allowed very few sweets so it didn't take much to thrill me LOL
Go Minski go! hello all! bonsoir chere Une!
3
and I didn't get the sh8 until well after the sh7 since I thought it would be a misspelling that way
bonsoir, stiddy!
Be7 wasn't new to me, but I still live in the 'old country'. LOL.
wb stid! Hi grem!
Hi Jellen
true :-)
hi stid!
how's life treating you Une? I almost never voir you anymore!
or should that be vue?
no, voir's right :-)
je ne te vois presque jamais
vue, I think, Stid. But I may be wrong.
1
stid... you're a voyeur??
good. I got something right today. I should go to bed right now with this success...
voir = infinitive form (to see), vu would be past tense
See? I told you I was probably wrong.
!!!!!FIREWORKS!!!!!
stiddy LOL!
congrats, minski!
je ne = I don't te vois = you see (see you) jamais = ever/anymore
yay min!!
YAY Minski
Well done, Minski.*~*~*~*~*
oops. presque = since?
almost
merci gremlinn!
presque -- yes, almost
so hazy - I haven't had French classes since...1993, I think.
wonderful icon pic, stid!!!
je can't remember much French these days. I usually find the Welsh or German words first.
never learned allemand
I just found a piece of paper that my 5 year old daughter was practicing her letters on. She didn't know what she was copying but she was copying a form letter for letter. DATE OF BIRTH: NAME: HEIGHT: WEIGHT: etc. all in caps. She did it perfectly but had no idea what she was writing. I'm amused and so proud!
that was the last time I studied French, took a class with Mother the first time she studied. We had a 2+ and a newborn... I had a good review of middle school French, then stopped.
Congratulations Minski on your fireworks! Good for U
what a great thing for her to do, Minski! *proud mama look*
Gremlinn - try finding your French words from 1970 something!
thanks Une. I am waiting to see the pics that M took with her VERY fancy camera!
je ne parle pas le francais
Yepper *very proud mama look*
That is really good fine motor coordination and eye-hand coordination for a 5 year old.
Ditto what stid just said.
I will do that as soon as someone let's me on the puter that reads my camera card!LOL (it's also the one that plays lego batman!)
je parle en peu de francais, mais je parle (more) italien, espagnole et allemand.
*mama boot takes aim at lego computer user...*
wow. a linguist!
She holds a pencil very well. I just wish she were a lefty like me. Then she would be perfect. LOL.
I speak a little French, but I speak more Italian, Spanish and German.
actually at this point I read a lot more than I speak, and can understand some.
That's what stid just said.
Speaking of Lego, I got Lego Harry Potter today - yay.
maybe she'll turn out ambidextrous like me, Minski!
very cool gremlinn!
my grandfather was an ambidextrous golfer
Good night all. almost midnight here. pumpkin time.
I'm ambidextrous, too.
nite, minski
'Nihht Minski.
impressive, jac!
ambidextrous is useful when you hurt the hand you normally use...
Goodbye Minski! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log!
just like my Rafa! :-)
sweet dreams Minski! enjoy your wonderful writer-in-process!
I'm ambivelent
LOL Une!
and spelling badly too
I am stopping at 231 words and 3333 points.Bye to all
Stid - it sure is! Not so easy to do with the 'wrong' hand you usually use for whatever, but not impossible.
Goodnight to my fellow babblers!I'll see you tomorrow
I'm omnivalent.
nice grem
I'm omnichoclivorous.
I'm not sure what that means, but it's probably good.
(anything with choclit is good...)
It means you're a velociraptor, gremlinn.
brrrr, that reminded me of the scene in the kitchen with the 2 raptors -- yikes!
Don't worry, I was declawed.
LOL Une.
Surely a declawed demon is a sad thing to see? Like a polar bear or a lion in a zoo?

<-- don't think I'm going to finish this grid :(
You want to see something really scary?

Shortly after, there's the scary gremlin on the wing of a plane in a thunderstorm.
oh, I like the thunderstorm was, that was CAptain Kirk at his finest...
tx for the re6!
I remember it well because it was the first theatre movie I took my dau to...she was 6 months old...sat on my lap...that scene opened the movie and scared her so that I turned her around and she to face me and she went to sleep!
I'm going to wander off to bed now. See some of you next grid, maybe.
nite, jac!
night jac!
sweet dreams, Jac ((hugs))
(disregard poor wording in that scenario)
Yeah, sweet dreams after this talk? Nah...
G'night, Jac
