news says the eclipse should be total here in about 5 minutes, then it will turn red and stay that way for a while. I just saw it still has a little fingerrnail of white -- and a few stars are appearing so maybe the clouds are thinning out more.

the worst is typing English on a French keyboard. Q's and a's are reversed, r's are in the wrong place. It's a nightmare if you're a touch typist

i can do about 86 wpm on Dvorak, vas 36 on QWERTY
i make MANY more errors with QWERTY
and have trouble keeping E and I straight on QWERTY

well QWERTY was originally designed to slow people down, so...
one thing i found when i switched was that the right hand does almost nothing with qwerty. (i space left-handed)
i can type really fast on qwerty - about 120 words on a word processor
I practically type entirely LH on QWERTY.
i had to learn for a civil service typing test
touch typing is much easier on qwerty
original typewriters were wimpy and secretaries got too fast for them and broke them so they tried to slow them down by making qwerty. of course then people got used to that too, but by then the machines had become less wimpy so it was ok.
I can type really quickly, but I make *so* many mistakes... when I'm actually typing, the backspace accounts for about 15% of my total keystrokes.
they made us learn touch-typing with qwerty on old Royal manuals without letters on the keys. It gave me a way to work my way through university

i took an orange and studded it with cloves and 6 apples and essentially made baked apples with brown sugar and cinnamon..and baked them for an hour whilst i heated 2 parts orange juice and 5 parts apple cider... with slices of fresh ginger, cinnamon sticks..more brown sugar and 1 part brandy...once the fruit was done...in they went into the slow cooker as well...( along with the caramelized sugars in bottom of pan )
