Annie, the young ones don't believe in stockings anymore. I find them very attractive with some outfits. However, they seem to have fallen off the "required" list of formal attire. In some instances, that is a darn shame.

Im back...Molly, not being one of the "young ones" that is why I am asking but I am wearing a long linen shirt so that should be okay. It is just an upscale restaurant/bar that is why I am asking. No stockings!

molly, my thighs are hefty, and thigh-highs tend to cause rolls where i dont need them.
Well Eva, if you are ever in a situation where you feel stockings are required, try investing in a higher end pair. I know what you mean, and the better ones don't do that.
my thighs are slender, so stockings work well... i much prefer them to tights
thankfully, i have never found myself in a such a situation. and if i did, i would most likely opt for trousers. :)
I was never comfortable wearing thigh highs so its either nothing or full hose

there is this godawful thing called OnBase that they use to digitize all student records that has a 26-page list of instructions - not for how to use it but for how to get it running on your computer (including all the warnings you have to ignore) - AND it only runs under Internet Explorer

hell,for that matter you can scan it all and deposit it on a flash key
well, to be fair, crossy, it does have a filing system with it - every record that is scanned is also given a type (application, letter of recommendation, transcript, etc) and is searchable by student name, ID, category (undergrad or grad), etc etc so there is quite a bit to it
any time you want something ,jack in the flash key with the students name on and it voilia!
and this is records for hundreds of thousands of students, past and present, don't think it would fit on a flash key :-)
you can sort it into however many files your heart desires

they do indeed. and the transition was painful - I was the dean of the graduate school at the time and we were the first to do it - but having everything in electronic form is much nicer than paper

nobody can accuse the graduate school of losing pieces of paper any more :-)

i had to do this at work,years and years of bills recipts,bills of lading...
encrypt it and store in the cloud
oh,i still keep the originals..in the basement,but now i can access anything i need for the auditor
maybe that is coming - back when we did this, 2005, we didn't have the cloud (or 32 gig flash drives, as far as that goes)
we keep the originals too but they occupy an entire building (and that's in boxes, not on accessible shelves) - universities have a LOT of records
not even a flash drive sue..a 32 gig flash key..you can hang it off a key chain lol
if there were a Q we could have quidditch. of course it wouldn't count but it would be a nice one for NTPN.

Hi, spell! Right now I am reading a couple of old Ellery Queen mysteries - quick reads but fun (got a load of books from a local library sale leftover - they were free)
The trilogy was good because it gave me an insight into a different culture and country and also .... The USA isn't the only country for murders etc.....
uu- I recently read the Kathy Reichs Bones series (sequentially) and enjoyed them. Not great literature but fun... Currently reading Joyce Carol Oates - A Widow's Story. It's tough.

She's just started a teen series, which I accidentally read. Did NOT enjoy that at all. (bitten by wolf, superpowers)
I am often looking for something to read in the evening (or if I am sick) that requires essentially no brain power. Murder mysteries are my favorite.
I like the fluff at night too. Anything too serious and I'm up reading until 2 or 3 am.
I've read a lot of the Catherine Coulter FBI series but was disappointed in the turn they have taken to "woo" - mind reading and the like.

...then wait for the floor and then reinstall the baseboards.
