sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you can start to recover-i know as a family member had a gambling addiction -now 12 years have gone by with no relapse-give all the support and get whatever help you can for him and hopefully all will work out in time

lickety went to AA last night for the first time... he was just a 'sitter' didn't say anything... and he said it was positive for him
there is no reason to be mortified mr p--lots of people love people with addictions
my daddy was an alcoholic and i found ACOA--adult children of alcoholics very useful to get past it
however, at the same time, he rang me dozens of times and was either loving, or abusive... it hurt so much

Many prayers are being raised now and will continue to be raised – for your comfort, for guidance, for healing. I am not embarrassed to talk about it at all, I am not afraid to talk, I am not going to be a 'wall flower'... I NEED help and have been here for many years and know who my friends are... don't care that I haven't met them in person, but know that I have support and love and help
mrp, have just come and have read back in the chog. One thing to focus on is that this is an illness. If lickety had cancer, you would get help for him and the family. You would not think that "you" could heal him, or that it was your fault.
we are glad to be here for you mr p but it would help to have other people right next to you to give you a hug--virtual hugs are not the same

dos, even if they've had geometry, trigonometry, and even some calculus, the worst problem is that they still have trouble with algebra - particularly systems of equations (two equations with two variables)
I tried trig - was not successful. All teacher did was tell stories about his whacko family. Everyone in the class had had it in HS - I was the only newbie. Waste of money & time
the other thing is remembering algebra, and knowing when to use what

Last weekend my brother-in-law was in town visiting and we went to the Boston Sports Museum. One of the things that they have is the penalty box from the old Boston Garden. I sat down in it and thought that ours was much nicer.

trying times are a matter of perception,i have a roof over my head,i can eat 3 meals a day,read a book,turn on the radio for music,my kid is healthy my wife eye disease is holding at 20/400 and though i have had cancer 3 times,i am clear atm.and my kid even though he has adhd and odd is healthy..but we all have trial in life and must overcome them..

dh is doing well on his 6th cycle of chemo...going for CT and MRI on the 24th...we are staying positive these days...only way to live well...headed to the outer banks 10/15-23 will pretend it's a honeymoon...but alas chemo has made many changes to my lover...will pretend anyway...have lots of wonderful times to reflect on...thank god we lived it up when we could...good prep for our new life...
