We decided early on that there are too many children in the world to bring more into it. We're foster parents and are in the process of beginning to adopt. Sadly, I see foster care in the near future for these kids.

Adoption isn't as easy as it seems...every aspect of your life is scrutinized...everything in detail. Maybe she tried and didn't qualify. You don't have to be approved to give birth.

I think adoption is one of the most wonderful things in the world and I can't wait to be part of it. We lost an adoption a few years back when my husband got cancer...it was devastating, but the little girl did get adopted by a wonderful family.

we looked at adoption root but as we are both second marriage and hubby was over 40.. our chances were low.. sad really
yeah bubs took just over 12months to happen and once we started ivf our adoption application was cancelled
that is since so many couples are now having their first child in their 40's
May parents were about to go off the list in the 1970's
Here in the US, you can adopt through the foster care system and age and marital status aren't really held in that high of a regard. I'm 39 and DH is 42 and we are prime candidates to adopt.

You know, people tell us that a lot, but we really aren't adopting/fostering for any reason other than to give kids a home and love. It's nice that people hold us in high esteem, but it really isn't about that at all. We'd do it even if everyone was against it.

The beauty of working in the bookstore is the proofs...and the recommendations...and the books..and the customers. Well, most everything. I actually would like to thank all of the lovely babblers that I know still support independant bookstore (and everything else). I know it is almost all of you, and that is awesome.
If we are getting into the clueing thing I prefer clues given when asked rather than the random clues, just a personal opinion

Well, what happened in my case was this..... I got pregnant in 1994, and my little boy was born in May 1995. He died aged 32 days. I went from 9 stone to over 17 and a half while pregnant. Day after he was born, I was 11 stone 2lbs. After he died, I was grieving, and I just sat at home and ate when I needed comfort...... I am losing weight, albeit slowly right now, but have lost 2 stones since christmas.....
I am going to get a pedicure today if it harelips every cannibal in the Congo...so must get some Babble finished

all I am saying is that many of these arsonists who kill innocent people and firefighters and destroy homes and property often get put in mental institutions and are released shortly thereafter with no consequences at all. They should receive stiffer punishment and have to repay the damages to all the people whose lives they have destroyed
